What's up, Champion? This is your host, Neal Reyes, and I want to welcome you to the Executive Perspective. For years, I struggled to answer the question, what do you do for a living? Why? Because most people who ask only expect to hear one thing. I'm an executive with a deep level of understanding of business, operations, leadership and technology. I'm also the president and founder of a worldwide ministry and CEO of an executive coaching and consulting firm. My number one passion is people and I receive significant gratitude in life from sowing into others and encouraging them as they grow to achieve their fullest potential. If you're a high performance individual like me, or you're simply ready to take your business, leadership or inner potential to the next level, then strap in because I'm locked in and all in. This is the Executive Perspective.

Speaker A

Hey, what's up, Champion? This is your host, Neal Reyes, and I want to welcome you back to The Executive Perspective. Today we have something that I think is extremely timely, but it's also something that I felt was very needed to help. As a word of encouragement, the topic that I want to speak about with you today is don't give up. That's exactly right. Don't give up. You know, this podcast, the Executive Perspective, focuses on three main areas. I say this in every episode, but we focus on leadership, business strategy, and personal development. And the words don't give up translate to every area of your life, and especially our three focuses. There are so many people in life who are struggling right now. They're either hurting, whether it be financially or whether they're feeling pressure in relationships, or maybe they're just tired. But I want to help give you the message, don't give up. And I believe after today's episode, you're going to have some fresh new perspective. But if anything, I want to encourage you to keep on keeping on on your days where it feels like it's the hardest. Keep on keeping on. You know, you might feel tired, worn, or even discouraged right now, but I want to tell you your breakthrough isn't just for you. It's for people you're called to impact. I'm going to say that again. Right now, you might feel tired, you might feel worn or just worn out, or you might even be struggling with discouragement and just feeling so discouraged. But I want to tell you that you need to keep on keeping on and don't give up because your breakout or your. I'm sorry, your breakthrough isn't just about you. And it's not just for you. It's for the people that you're called to impact. Man, that's a loud statement right there. And the reason why that's so loud is because most people don't even know all the people they're called to impact. You know, if we were going through marketing right now and I were helping you at certain consulting services or things of that nature, there would be things where we would say, hey, who's your ideal customer avatar? Or who's the segment or group, the demographic that you're looking to target with your business, your product, whatever it is, your brand, what is it that you're going after? But outside of that, even then, you don't really know exactly who you're called to impact. You might know the group that you think will resonate the loudest with your message, whatever that is, whether that be a message through a product or a service or a brand, whatever it is. However, you don't know the specific people. In fact, what I will tell you is sometimes you might think you know exactly who the people are, and in some cases you might know a few. But there are other times where you might think, you know, that, man, when I gave this message, it was going to speak to this person. Exactly. But you don't know if that person ever even hit play. In fact, that sometimes the people who are the closest to you, who don't even tap into your messages, if that's what you produce, because to them, they have access to you all the time, why would they listen to your stuff? And if you're some type of a content promoter or content creator, if you write books, if you make videos, things of that nature. The reason why I share that is don't assume you know who you're called to impact, but understand this. If you're feeling tired, if you're feeling worn, or you're feeling discouraged, pick yourself up and keep on keeping on. Champion. You got to get up and don't give up. I'm going to say that again. You've got to get up, get up and don't give up. Because your breakthrough isn't just about you and it isn't for you. It's for the people you're called to impact. Don't give up now because someone is counting on you. I'm going to say that again. Don't give up now because someone is counting on you. Now, I want to take you through a couple quick things because I want this to be a quick message for you that you can jump in and out of at any time as an evergreen content if you're ever feeling discouraged or if you're feeling like giving up. So the first thing I want to share with you is discouragement lies. We're going to talk about discouragement lies today. In other words, lies like when someone's lying to you. And discouragement absolutely is lying to you. It tells you what's not true. And these are some of the examples when discouragement sets in. Now, understand, and you've heard me say this before, discouragement, it comes in the form of thoughts. It comes in the form of feelings. It comes in the form of emotions. You know, you can't stop a bird from flying over your head, but you can absolutely stop it from making a nest in your hair. That's a big deal right there. Well, if discouragement comes, that may try to come, but only you can determine if you're going to allow it to stick. Don't let discouragement stick when it tries to come on you. When discouragement sets in, if you let this thing stick. When discouragement sets in, Ed starts talking to you and it starts whispering things to you like, this isn't working, or you're not making a difference, or you should just quit. I'm telling you that it is subtle and it is such a nasty attack of the enemy that's meant to get you to give up. It's meant to make you feel overwhelmed. It's meant to make you feel like you're not good enough, like you're never going to accomplish the thing you're working on and you're not going to succeed. Like you're a complete failure. But remember, discouragement lies. It tells you what is not true. Now, if you're feeling discouraged or you're struggling with discouragement, don't feel bad about that, but don't let that thing stick. I'm going to say it again. If you're feeling discouraged, there's nothing to feel bad about with that. And what I mean is, if you're feeling discouraged, don't feel bad that you're feeling discouraged. But don't let that thing stick. Don't give up. You got to pick yourself up. Don't give up. Discouragement distorts perspective, and that's a strong statement right there. Discouragement distorts. In other words, it twists. It distorts perspective. Don't let it define your decisions. You know, if you've ever tried looking at something through a glass, but the glass bends the light or in some way or another, what it does is it twists and bends the image so you can't see it quite as clear as you're supposed to. And what happens when you do that is you might be looking at the image, but it doesn't look the way it's supposed to. That's what discouragement does. Discouragement gives you a glimpse of the thing that you're supposed to do or accomplish or succeed in. But it twists it and it makes it look like it's never going to form into a complete or whole picture. It twists or it distorts your perspective. Don't let that define your decisions. If you're up against a time frame today where you need to make a decision about something, don't do it from a place of discouragement. Why? Because if you're discouraged, that thing has the ability to twist or to distort your perspective, which means that your decision lacks clarity and may also be twisted or distorted as well. Now, here's our first leadership truth bomb for you Today, discouragement doesn't come to those who are going nowhere. It comes to those who are close to something significant, who. That's fire right there. That alone should help you jump out of the discouragement ditch. Discouragement doesn't come to those who are going nowhere. It comes to those who are close to something significant. You know, I've heard people say before that when you're at your facing your strongest trials or your strongest challenges, that's when your greatest breakthrough is about to happen. That's when your greatest breakthrough is about to manifest. That's when this thing's about to show up. So when you're feeling at your weakest point, when you're feeling the most discouraged, that should encourage you in that moment right there by recognizing that man, discouragement doesn't visit people who are going nowhere. It visits people who are about to receive something significant. They're about to accomplish or do something significant. And that's who you are. Champion. You're accomplishing great things. You know, I tell you all the times on this channel that I believe in you and I encourage you to go out and smash it. I believe you have greatness living on the inside of you. You just have to cultivate it. Go out and smash it. Now the next thing I want to talk with you about is you're allowed to feel it. Just don't stop because of it. What do I mean by that? When you're feeling like quitting, or when you're feeling discouraged, it's okay to feel that way. That's what I was trying to tell you earlier. I don't want you getting a condemnation or judgment of yourself that, oh, it's wrong for me to even feel like this. What a weak person I am. I'm just no good. No, you got to kick thoughts like that to the curb. What I'm telling you is it's okay if you feel like that. Just don't stop because of it. In other words, I'm not telling you to embrace those feelings. I'm telling you, don't beat yourself up if you do feel like that. But if you do feel like that, you gotta pick yourself up and you gotta keep on keeping on. You gotta keep moving. Don't stop just because you feel it. It's okay to be discouraged. You're human. That's part of life. It's okay to be discouraged. You know, I will tell you that when I first got married, I learned that with my wife, Katie, that man, no matter what she was going through in life, I could support her in just about anything, and especially by trusting her over to God. But the most difficult emotion for me to ever handle with my wife, as when I would witness my wife being discouraged, man. And the reason why that was so hard for me is because I wanted to pick that thing up. I wanted to fix it, I wanted to make it go away. But sometimes I just had to trust her over to God. In fact, I always trust her to God. But I'm saying there were times where I had to recognize that this isn't something that husband Neal can help with. This is something I just have to trust her over to the Lord. I will tell you, it's the same way with my children and those who are around me, too. When people are discouraged, you can encourage them, you can help try to lift them up and build them up. But at the end of the day, sometimes you just have to trust them over to God. Don't let discouragement stick to you, but also understand it's okay to be discouraged, because guess what? You're human. The decision to quit is often made in a temporary state, but it produces permanent regret. Oh, man, I'm going to say that again. The decision to quit is often made in a temporary state that produces permanent regret. What do I mean by that? Meaning that when people make a decision to quit, it's usually because they're facing something, some type of a strong feeling or a strong discouragement. But that's a temporary state, meaning it's not going to last. But even though it's not going to last, even if you don't try to do anything to overcome it, it's not going to last. But if you make a decision in that moment to quit based on those temporary circumstances, that decision to quit now has permanent regret attached to it. Even if later you recognize what you did and you pick the thing back up, the amount of wasted time you did, if you. If you even pick it back up at all, there's regret attached to that thing. Don't let discouragement stick to you. Understand that it's okay for you to feel discouraged at times, but don't let it stick. Now, here's our next Leadership Truth bomb for today. You don't have to feel strong to stay faithful. You just have to take one more step. Who? That's a big statement right there. Now, even when I was preparing this podcast for today, when I read the word faithful back to myself, I recognized that this was going to have a heavy meeting and a different connotation to a lot of different people connecting with this podcast but either ways you take it for your circumstances of what you know, it speaks to you. You run with that. Don't give up. I'm going to read it one more time. You don't have to feel strong to stay faithful. You just have to take one more step. Next, I'm going to take you to something else. I want you to understand, and this is a strong concept, but there's someone who needs you. Someone who needs you is waiting on the other side of your breakthrough. You know, there's a speaker that I follow and like very, very much. Her name is Terry Savelle Foy. And she always says this statement that someone's always waiting on the other side of your obedience. You've heard me mention that numerous times here on this podcast before. But as I was preparing for today's episode, something the Lord gave me was something unique. He said, someone who needs you is waiting on the other side of your breakthrough. There are people who need you, who are close to you, that you know need you right now. They can't have you give up on whatever that thing is. But there are other people that you don't even know, but they need you. They need you, and they need you on the other side of that breakthrough. Meaning that that breakthrough, that breakthrough is the breakthrough that gets through the feelings of discouragement, the breakthrough of getting through the feelings of giving up and accomplishing what you set out to do. And when you get through that breakthrough, there's someone who needs you on the other side of that thing. Your assignment is not just for you. It's about who you're called to lead, who you're called to love, who you're called to serve, and who you're called to impact. I'm going to read that again. Your assignment is not just about you. It's about who you're called to lead, who you're called to love, who you're called to serve, and who you're called to impact. In other words, your assignment is much greater than just you. Man that speaks right there. If you quit, they lose. I'm going to say that again. If you quit, they lose. Don't give up. Don't quit. Someone is counting on you, whether you realize it or not. Here's another leadership truth bomb for you today. Your breakthrough could be the key someone else is praying for right now. If you quit now, they might never get the version of you that changes their life. That's a big statement right there. That should light you on fire right there. Your breakthrough could be the key. Someone else is praying for right now. They may not even know who you are, but they're praying for a breakthrough. And that breakthrough might be meant to come directly through you. Your breakthrough could be the very key someone else is praying for right now. If you quit now, they might never, ever get the version of you that changes their life forever. You know, there are people in my life who I can think of many people, but several significant people that I know that by connecting with them or connecting with their message has changed my life forever. I can start listing them for you right now, but you know who those people are for you as well. But what you don't know is who you are for that other person. I'm going to say that again. In your own life, you already know who those people are for you that have changed your life forever. These could be people you know or people you don't know, but you follow them and listen to them all the time. Maybe they become like a spiritual father for you or spiritual mother, or they become a mentor without even knowing it because you know them from a distance and they don't know who you are. But you know who they are because you listen or watch them every single day. But I want you to understand you are also that same person for someone else, even if you don't know who they are. Man, that's a powerful statement. You know, I'm going to go ahead and get ready to finish with this, but I want to finish with this bold statement that quitting is loud, but finishing is even louder. Whoo. That speaks right there. Quitting is loud, but finishing. Finishing is much, much louder. When you feel like quitting, pinch out. What do I mean by that? I'm trying to tell you to zoom out when you feel like quitting, zoom out so you can see the long game. You know, it's so funny. But nowadays, with all of our phones and tablets and stuff like that, iPads or different things, you know, you've gotten so used to being able to pinch in or pinch out, to be able to zoom in or zoom out. You know, sometimes it feels like you want to do that to the TV or something like that. I can think of times where I'm looking at a magazine or if it's a newspaper. Something doesn't happen often, but it's happened in the past, and I wanted something to be bigger, and I found myself trying to touch it and trying to pinch out, and I'm like, holy smokes, Neil, what are you doing? Now, what makes that funny is because you've done the Same thing. But treat it in life the same way. When you feel like quitting, zoom out or pinch out if that helps you out better. But zoom out. You need to zoom out on that thing. Why? So you can see the long game. Remember, it's not about how you feel in the moment. It's about the mission. I'm going to say that one more time. It's not about how you feel in the moment, it's about the mission. Wow, what a powerful show today, guys. I'm going to go ahead and let you go, but before I do, I want to remind you and encourage you that I believe in you, Champion. I believe you have greatness on the inside of you. You just need to continue to work on cultivating it so you can get it on the outside. And then you need to go out and smash that thing. There are people who are depending on you. There are people who are counting on you and your breakthrough. Don't give up. I believe in you. You've got greatness in you, Champion. Don't give up. Keep on pushing and go smash that thing. Don't give up. Now, before I let you go, I also want to remind you to swing by our website@neal Reyes.com why?
