Speaker BAll right, so let's talk about your, I guess, your early days, and I'm guessing in this chain of events that has kind of led to where we are now.
Speaker BI'm guessing that before, you know, entrepreneur and creator and other things, that you were a musician, right?
Speaker CYeah, I grew up.
Speaker CI don't come from a musical family.
Speaker CIt was just like most of my friends.
Speaker CThere was a need at church, and then.
Speaker CAnd then that's how I just gravitated towards bass.
Speaker CAnd.
Speaker CAnd then after that, it was just history.
Speaker CI.
Speaker CI didn't know you could make a living from playing bass.
Speaker CI didn't know that, you know, being a musician was something you could sustain yourself off of.
Speaker CMy parents didn't understand that, you know, growing up from a Latin home, my parents, you know, first generation.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CSo they said, get a job, and, you know, I was just like, sure, I'll get a job, but I'll still play music.
Speaker CSo growing up, it was always music.
Speaker CAnd then working retail, that was it for us.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BAnd I guess a lot happened probably in a short period of time.
Speaker BWell, when did you start actually playing?
Speaker BI guess that's a good.
Speaker CI started playing bass.
Speaker CI would say.
Speaker CI want to say somewhere around 14, 14, 15.
Speaker CMy mom took us to a huge music chain, which is no longer around, called Sam Ash, and she bought us a Fender Squire starter pack for bass.
Speaker CThat's how I started.
Speaker CAnd then.
Speaker CYeah, that I remember.
Speaker CI'll never forget this base.
Speaker CIt was a red precision Fender Squire with the low.
Speaker CIt's called, like, a rumble pack.
Speaker CAnd.
Speaker COkay, that was, like, my birthday gift.
Speaker CAnd that's how I got into playing bass.
Speaker BA very traditional bass bass path, I think, actually.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BIt's actually really funny because we and I, Drake, you'll agree, now there's a definite.
Speaker BThe music industry.
Speaker BWe've talked to people from all different aspects, and there just seems to be an overwhelming tie in to people who started off playing and.
Speaker BOr singing in church, and it's no matter what.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BPeople listening might think that this is a path and these are, like, certain.
Speaker BThis is, like, criteria to be a guest on our podcast.
Speaker BBut it's just literally by chance.
Speaker BIt's overwhelmingly probably like 75% is this.
Speaker AYou think it's by chance, though?
Speaker AI don't think it's.
Speaker BWell, I mean, by chance, as far as we're not actively looking for people who meet this criteria.
Speaker CYeah, yeah.
Speaker BBy chance as far as other things.
Speaker BAbsolutely not.
Speaker BThis is divine.
Speaker BIt's much greater than chance, for sure.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CI think, I think it's just because it's.
Speaker CIt's like free education, man.
Speaker CIt's.
Speaker CThat's cost you to do play there and you learn everything.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CIt's just a good breeding ground for, you know, artistry, you know.
Speaker CAnd now we realize that the church breeds.
Speaker CThe church cultivates artists, photographers, videographers, musicians, singers, you name it.
Speaker CIt's just a place to be creative now where as maybe someone was a professional photographer and would maybe take photos at your church or did sound or whatever.
Speaker CNow it's like school people, they want to get good at anything artistic.
Speaker CChurch is going to be the place to really just cultivate those talents.
Speaker BThat's very true.
Speaker AI agree.
Speaker BAnd I know there, I mean there's definitely.
Speaker BThere were definitely generations that came before ours and that were pioneers of a lot of different things.
Speaker BBut I guess in my mind I kind of see it as we.
Speaker BOur generation has kind of been like that bridge of where it went from, you know, like playing bass or playing drums, whatever it is, singing as just strictly love as something that we didn't even think twice as one day I'm going to be a pro, one day I'm going to get paid doing this strictly a labor.
Speaker BIt was like it was love.
Speaker BIt was love.
Speaker BIt was love for the instrument, it was love for church.
Speaker BIt was all that.
Speaker BBut now I think the generation coming up behind us has seen a clear cut path.
Speaker BNot to take away from them, but they're born into a good time as far as that goes.
Speaker BWhere now you can look around and say like I want to be a bass player.
Speaker BThat's what I'm going to do.
Speaker BYou could be five years old and say I want to be a pro musician, I want to be on tour and all that stuff.
Speaker BSo yeah, I think it was a very interesting time for us where we kind of saw the, the bridging of this gap that I didn't even know existed until I saw the other side.
Speaker BAnd I think it's probably the same.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd it's so much more accelerated now.
Speaker CLike everything is super accelerated.
Speaker CYou can start playing guitar tomorrow and in one year you could be, you know, at the, you know, at the Madison Square Garden with elevation, worship.
Speaker BSo true.
Speaker BWe've seen it.
Speaker CThere's just so much more acceptability.
Speaker CEven when I started playing, not even that old.
Speaker CThat YouTube wasn't really strong yet.
Speaker CSo if you want to learn a song.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker CYou still had to put the CD in, stop it, rewind, and then play it again and stop it and rewind and hope that you're playing the right part, or ask a buddy that.
Speaker CThat is more, you know, versed in whatever, and then they'll teach it.
Speaker CBut you're like, oh, actually, this is it.
Speaker CYou know, now it's super accelerated, so it's.
Speaker CIt's.
Speaker CIt's super cool, though.
Speaker BTutorials.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYeah, it is cool.
Speaker BIt's a little different approach.
Speaker BCan't knock it because it's working in a lot of aspects.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BYou can't say it's not, because, like you said, the acceleration is crazy.
Speaker BCould have saved us a lot of time, too.
Speaker BThere's probably a benefit to hitting that rewind and having to figure it out a little bit deeper.
Speaker ABreak it down.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BI mean, but I guess either way, you're kind of ending up in a very similar place, so.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BSo I want to kind of pivot from.
Speaker BWell, I don't want to take.
Speaker BJump right into it, but can you kind of talk us through your journey as a musician?
Speaker BSo you're playing in church, I assume.
Speaker BAnd I.
Speaker BI mean, I know that it led to some other opportunities.
Speaker BWhat did that look like?
Speaker BAnd was there a point where you thought, like, okay, this is what I want to do, and this is all I want to do as far as being a musician.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CSo when I first started playing, like I said, I didn't know that you could even.
Speaker CI didn't know you got paid for this.
Speaker CI literally was just doing it for the honor and glory.
Speaker CGod.
Speaker CWhich I still am.
Speaker CWhich is crazy to me, because.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker CYou know, things for sure change.
Speaker CBut I was just playing because I.
Speaker CI wanted to play bass.
Speaker CI wanted to be on.
Speaker COn the same.
Speaker CLike this, you know, the scope as my brother.
Speaker CMy brother was a drummer.
Speaker CWe all picked it up at the same time, but my brother just started playing way more than I did.
Speaker CI was a kid, and I'm like, man, if I could just play with my brother, that'll be the coolest thing ever, you know?
Speaker CShortly after, we started playing everywhere.
Speaker CEvery youth service camp, convention, you name it.
Speaker CAnd I said, wow, this is honestly so much fun.
Speaker CIt was a culture that we were a part of now that we just.
Speaker CThat was our life.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CChurch and hanging out and being at camps and just having that environment.
Speaker CLittle by little, people just started saying, like, hey, it's kind of how it is.
Speaker CRight?
Speaker CWhere are you playing?
Speaker CHey, can you play here?
Speaker CAnd then next thing you know, after my church, I'm going to another church.
Speaker CI'm going to youth service.
Speaker CAnd then mom, I'll be back by 9pm and I'll be with my brother, don't worry, or whatever.
Speaker CAnd it kind of.
Speaker CIt kind of progressed in that light.
Speaker CAnd then shortly after, I got called.
Speaker CI'll never forget.
Speaker CI know every single step to where it got me.
Speaker CToday I got invited to go to a musician's, like, jam.
Speaker CLike a shed.
Speaker CWe call it shed.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CAnd from there, everything just opened up.
Speaker CI started playing everywhere.
Speaker CIt just.
Speaker CIt took me into the.
Speaker CInto the gospel community.
Speaker CAnd then after that, it was like.
Speaker CIt was an acceleration of growth.
Speaker CBut in church, I grew up in Latin church, where it's very simple.
Speaker CAll service, I'm playing two notes.
Speaker CLiterally two notes.
Speaker CIf you're familiar with music theory, I'm literally playing 1-515-2525.
Speaker C1-5-1525.
Speaker CAnd then when I started playing at different churches, I said, oh, man, what's this song?
Speaker CEverything's new to me.
Speaker CLike, I didn't know Blessed Assurance.
Speaker CI didn't know Total praise.
Speaker CI didn't know, you know, a lot of music.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd I said, okay.
Speaker CSo then by the grace of God, man, people were absolutely willing to pour into this young kid, you know, and.
Speaker CAnd I started learning a lot then as, you know, as your IQ grows, you start getting calls for different stuff.
Speaker CSo then I started doing, like, local BET awards here at the Staples center in California.
Speaker CI started called for some videotapings.
Speaker CAnd I've always been the youngest guy.
Speaker CI've always been the only Mexican in the room, which is so wild because my whole landscape changed.
Speaker CAnd then I guess to fast forward a little bit, I landed at a church not too far from my house.
Speaker CAnd it was a church you got in Christ.
Speaker CAnd I really developed a heart, you know, in that specific ministry.
Speaker CAnd then I became a youth pastor with my wife for six years.
Speaker CAnd then, yeah, literally, I was Kojic for six years.
Speaker CLoved it because I grew up apostolic, so it aligned relatively similarly.
Speaker CAnd yeah, right there at that church, I learned a ton.
Speaker CI'm talking about everything.
Speaker CLike, I learned.
Speaker CYeah, just anything music musically related.
Speaker CI learned a ton.
Speaker CAnd that launched me.
Speaker CSo when I started getting calls for bigger stages and I started touring, it was just easy.
Speaker CIt was an easy transition because it, like, a lot of amazing musicians would run through, just to name a few.
Speaker CI would have.
Speaker CI would.
Speaker CThere'd be Sundays.
Speaker CI'd be playing with Mike Burrell, super gospel legend.
Speaker CQuentin Golich, super, you know, amazing producer, musician, place for everyone.
Speaker CClifton Williams, keyboard is for Baby Baby Face and the Jacksons.
Speaker CLike, literally, I was running through a ton of musicians.
Speaker BThis was your education?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CAnd they were just pouring into me.
Speaker CAnd because of that, I started in my community, my land community.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CI started building an influence, better yet.
Speaker CSo when I was going on the road, they would say, hey, Juice, we want to play gospel like you.
Speaker CWhat are you using?
Speaker CAnd I would tell them, oh, I'm using this bass.
Speaker CI've learned that this bass works good with this cabinet.
Speaker CAnd this tone is perfect for this.
Speaker COr when I would tour, I would play Persian music.
Speaker CNo idea how that even happened, but that was my main gig.
Speaker CLiterally everything was six, eight, or, you know, just, you know, and.
Speaker CAnd then that opened a lot of doors.
Speaker CSorry, it was reconnecting on my end, but it opened a lot of doors for us.
Speaker CAnd.
Speaker CAnd.
Speaker CAnd then that led into where we are today.
Speaker AWow, that's incredible.
Speaker AI mean, that trajectory has got to be intense.
Speaker AEspecially, like you said, being the only Mexican in the room at most times, and your ability to kind of navigate in these spaces, I mean, it's all under the umbrella of gospel.
Speaker AAnd obviously the Christian community is very welcoming, so I'm sure that wasn't tough.
Speaker ABut in terms of just going from playing in churches to touring, I know technically, like, musically, you're ready for that big stage, but what's that like as a young man trying to tour as a Christian, as with his faith, trying to kind of just stay, you know, true to self?
Speaker ABecause I know it's tough on the road being alone or sometimes just being isolated from your family, from your wife.
Speaker AWhat was that like for you as a young man?
Speaker AAnd is there anything you could tell young musicians right now that might get that opportunity?
Speaker AJust things to kind of either be aware of or some advice you might give them?
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CSo basically, it was an absolute challenge.
Speaker CAnd I don't know if I'm cutting out because on my end it says reconnecting, but it was an absolute challenge.
Speaker CSimply because.
Speaker CSimply because obviously I'm super God fearing.
Speaker CYou know, I was a youth pastor even while touring, which is very uncommon, where, you know, most of the time, you know, guys are just musicians, the community.
Speaker CAnd the gig that I had, my constant gig, they knew me as preacher.
Speaker CSo they were like, right, Preacher, Preacher, your.
Speaker CYour plane leaves in 30 minutes.
Speaker CSo right after the show, I would have to leave because I told them, hey, man, I'LL do the gig.
Speaker CBut I got to be in time Sunday because I got to preach.
Speaker CI got.
Speaker CI have Bible study.
Speaker CI got Sunday school.
Speaker CSo my schedule went like this, right.
Speaker CI would leave Thursday.
Speaker CShows would be Friday.
Speaker CSaturday, I would catch a plane either Saturday night or Sunday morning, typically east coast, so that I can make it in time for 10am or normally I'd make it in for 9am prayer on Sunday.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker CBut if I didn't make that, then I absolutely would make Sunday school at 10.
Speaker CAnd then after Sunday school, we would have prayer.
Speaker CI normally would do inspirational message before service.
Speaker CSo I'm preaching before service.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker CAnd then I have to play.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CAnd then after that, I'd go do church and so on and so forth.
Speaker CSo they knew how active I was, Right.
Speaker CSo I told them, look, dude, I'm super down.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BNo joke.
Speaker CObviously, we built the relationships, but I told them, I don't want to miss church.
Speaker CLike, I.
Speaker CTo me, that's number one.
Speaker CSimply because I told.
Speaker CI remember telling God or asking God, look, God, like, I'll just.
Speaker CIf you can sustain me through music, I'll give you all my time.
Speaker CAnd I left.
Speaker CWhat I did my first five years, we took, like, two years off.
Speaker CBut my first five years of marriage, we devoted to ministry.
Speaker CYou know, we were youth pastors at two different churches while touring Maryland at one church.
Speaker CSo I was very, very active.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CBut what I can say for musicians that are like, you know, believers, your faith will be tested.
Speaker CYou know, I.
Speaker CI would show up to certain hotel rooms and, like, they would be doing full on drugs.
Speaker CAnd I'm like, I don't know if this is the life that I want to be a part of.
Speaker CAnd I knew that that culture, you know, traveled across any industry, any.
Speaker CAny music genre.
Speaker BTrue.
Speaker CSo I had to be very strategic in what I was doing because I understood the value of touring, but I also understood the value and the influence that I had.
Speaker CSo at some point, I had to leverage that to get me to where I wanted to go.
Speaker CI realized after touring for whatever time that I'm like, okay, this isn't a forever gig.
Speaker CThis is a young man's game.
Speaker CThis is a single man's game to me.
Speaker CNow, I know a lot of musicians, like my buddies that I mentioned.
Speaker CYeah, those guys are crushing it.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd, you know, they.
Speaker CThey do it on their terms, you know, which is super fire.
Speaker CBut what I started seeing for the future of my life and my wife and now my two kids, I said, I don't want to be on the road, I don't want my kids to be, you know, where's dad?
Speaker CYou know, and I hadn't even had kids yet.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CSo this is something I thought about.
Speaker CSo I knew that everything that I did from then on forth, I had to be very strategic.
Speaker CAnd, and yeah, you know, we ended up.
Speaker CI ended up using all of those networks that I built over the years and I leveraged that to my next move, which was what we're doing now, you know, but if you're in the industry, okay, I guess, and I'm not just saying it's secular.
Speaker CThis is, this applies everywhere.
Speaker CIt's going to be for sure shock because you, you would think that certain things run a certain way, but they don't.
Speaker CNot everybody's purely musically, you know, do it or not.
Speaker CEverybody's doing it, you know, specifically just for music.
Speaker CA lot of guys are doing it to pay the bills.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CYou know, and they're going through stuff while they're paying bills.
Speaker CSo for sure, just be mindful.
Speaker CDon't let those things distract you.
Speaker CYou know, don't.
Speaker CDon't get absorbed by the culture of the music world.
Speaker CStay strong.
Speaker CAnd it's okay to say no.
Speaker CDon't feel, don't feel like you're held hostage for the gig because you need the check.
Speaker CYou know, there's other ways to make money and you can make the same amount of money locally, you know what I'm saying?
Speaker CBut social media change that because social media changed that because now you can be more famous on social media and never tour, Right.
Speaker CWhereas in.
Speaker CIn order for you to get the endorse, don't.
Speaker COnly thing you had to do was tour.
Speaker CAs soon as you got the tour, as soon as you got the shows, people were like, ziljan here.
Speaker CYeah, you know, you know, Vic Firth here, you know, whatever here.
Speaker CNow it's like, oh, you have 100,000 followers here.
Speaker CSo the landscape has changed.
Speaker CSo I think what happens to us as musicians is that we feel like we.
Speaker CWe're chokehold a little bit because we have to play in certain settings.
Speaker CBut one of the things that I've understood, and then I preach every week, I'm like, when God gives you value, no one can take that away.
Speaker CYou don't have to dilute yourself to be a part of the big picture.
Speaker CLike, if God wants you at that table, he will make room for you at that table.
Speaker CAnd that's, that's one thing that I've noticed and that I've experienced in my life.
Speaker BThat's Huge.
Speaker BThat's very.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYou said a lot in that, man.
Speaker BAnd I.
Speaker BFor anyone listening, I know we have.

Speaker BSome wise words of just at least things to consider.
Speaker BConsidering your why, understanding your purpose and not straying from that is huge.
Speaker BWhen temptation comes your way or distractions come your way, staying focused on.
Speaker BOn the plan, which requires you to actually understand what your purpose and your plan are before you get in those situations, or else you're going to find yourself scrambling.
Speaker BSo I think that you spoke of, and I.
Speaker BI'm really grabbing on to that.
Speaker BJust the fact that you thought ahead, even thinking ahead to the next moves.
Speaker BI know that you transitioned from, you know, touring musician, music director, youth pastor.
Speaker BThat's a lot of stuff to be juggling at once.
Speaker ANo kidding.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI don't know how much of that you gave up or how much you carried on to the next sort of chapter.
Speaker BBut I want to talk about that transition because from there, I know you opened up Juice Music Shop, and at some point also.
Speaker BWell, I'll let you tell us that whole next side of what came from that transition.
Speaker CI'll accelerate a little bit because honestly, it's a lot I can imagine after.
Speaker CYeah, it's a lot.
Speaker CSo, you know, I got married.
Speaker CI got married and then, you know, we were youth pastors first before all the gigs.
Speaker CI mean, all the major stuff.
Speaker CI always.
Speaker CI always give credit to my wife.
Speaker CShe literally unlocked God's favor in my life when.
Speaker CAs soon as I met her, you know, like, everything happened.
Speaker CAnd that's how I knew that was.
Speaker CIt was divinely appointed.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CBut, yeah, once.
Speaker COnce we started playing and I started really taking off musically, I realized I'm like, man, God, you're giving me a lot.
Speaker CAnd I don't want to.
Speaker CI don't want it to not be reciprocated.
Speaker CI want to make sure that I give you more than what you're giving me.
Speaker CAnd that's why we were so heavily involved in church, because I'm Like.
Speaker CLike, I'm just like, God first.
Speaker CLike, if.
Speaker CIf I want these seeds that I plan to grow, I gotta do them.
Speaker CI gotta do them with the help of God, you know?
Speaker CSo as time went on, you know, as time went on, we.
Speaker CI started realizing, like, I said, I'm like, all right, I'm building an influence.
Speaker CI'm building.
Speaker CYou know, people are following us for what gear, you know, they want.
Speaker CThat was that guy.
Speaker CI was like, hey, Juice, what are you using?
Speaker CAnd I'm like, I'm using this.
Speaker CThen I started getting endorsements.
Speaker CAnd I'm not.
Speaker CI'm a time.
Speaker CI'm not talking Fender.
Speaker CI'm not talking, you know, Roland.
Speaker CI'm talking, like, these Korean companies and these Chinese companies that I would see at this.
Speaker CThis at namm, right, the national association of Music Merchants when that big event, right, every January, I was on that side.
Speaker CI was on the.
Speaker COn the artist side.
Speaker CAnd I would.
Speaker CI would, you know, sell my stuff.
Speaker CI'd say, like, hey, dude.
Speaker CI would pitch myself.
Speaker CI'd say, hey, man, I'm playing with so and so.
Speaker CYou know, I can move this product.
Speaker CAnd one of my main.
Speaker COne of my.
Speaker CMy now partners, he would tell me, no every year.
Speaker CHe'd say, no, no, no, I don't need artists.
Speaker CI don't need artists.
Speaker CAnd he would tell it to me, you know, and I would say, it's okay, you know, But I knew.
Speaker CI knew what I wanted to do.
Speaker CSo I had a string endorsement.
Speaker CThen I got a base bag endorsement.
Speaker CThen eventually, after two and a half years, I got a.

Speaker CYada, yada, I'm doing all this.
Speaker CBut also, if you want gear, go talk to Juice.

Speaker CAnd.
Speaker CAnd to be honest, I've always been an entrepreneur.
Speaker CIn high school, I would sell chocolates, right?
Speaker CWe would do.
Speaker CI would sell sneakers, I would sell clothes.
Speaker CIt's just.
Speaker COkay, you know, that's just how I was.
Speaker CI didn't come from.
Speaker CI didn't come from a lot of money.
Speaker CYou know, the beginning of the school year did not mean that I had A brand new set of clothes and meant that a month before I had a hustle to get at least 100 bucks to buy a pair of jeans.

Speaker CSo I've always been a hustler.
Speaker CYeah, yeah, I've always been a hustler.
Speaker CSo then that's what people knew me as.
Speaker CThey're like, oh, this is the guy to go to for this.
Speaker CEventually I told my wife, I'm like, hey, I want to do something else.
Speaker CLike I want to play music, but I also want to have a business.
Speaker CAnd she supported me and it was easy for her because she was a first grade teacher, right?
Speaker CSo you talk about stability, right?
Speaker CYou got a 401k.
Speaker CI've never had insurance up until I got married through my wife.
Speaker CThat's just the honest truth.
Speaker CMusicians go get insurance.
Speaker CWe don't have that.
Speaker CYou know, we don't, we don't have the retirement.
Speaker BFair enough.
Speaker CYeah, yeah.
Speaker CSo then she supported me.
Speaker CIt took me two years to really.
Speaker CFor it to happen.
Speaker CAnd this is where, this is where it really starts accelerating.
Speaker CI would ask God, I'm like, God, like, I want to do something else and I want to, I want to.
Speaker CI really wanted just to devote my life to Christ, you know, and the business was always looming over my head because I was already doing it, but I didn't have a store yet.
Speaker CSo then eventually, this is after two nams, I told all my reps, I said, or my company, I said, hey, look, I want to open up a store.
Speaker CLet me sell your stuff stateside.
Speaker CI'll be your guy.
Speaker CI'll be your dealer exclusively for you guys.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker CAnd then they said, sure.
Speaker CThey literally were like, okay, yes, done.
Speaker CAnd I, and I was like, oh, wow, that was pretty easy.
Speaker CBut even then I didn't do it because I didn't.
Speaker CI was scared.
Speaker CI said, oh man, I don't have the money to open up the store or I don't have the money to whatever, whatever.
Speaker CWhat am I going to do, you know?
Speaker CSo then I waited another year.
Speaker CYeah, right, Another year.
Speaker CSo this is, this is not like, you know, month by month.
Speaker CAnd one day I come home from work, mind you, I'm doing all this, I'm touring and I'm working a part time job as a salesman for a printing company.
Speaker CAnd then I go home, I'm eating, probably eating Taco Bell in my apartment.
Speaker CAnd there, yeah, I know, I love Taco Bell.
Speaker CMy friends get on me because I want to eventually open up a Taco Bell franchise.
Speaker CI want to have my own.
Speaker BOh, okay.
Speaker CBut regardless, I know I'm ambitious.
Speaker CI'm ambitious, but I was eating Taco Bell.
Speaker CAnd I'll never forget this, that God came over me.
Speaker CAnd I'm not one that cries.
Speaker CI'm not.
Speaker CI'm not a crier.
Speaker CI didn't cry when my son was born.
Speaker CNeither of them.
Speaker CI didn't cry on my wedding day.
Speaker CAlmost did.
Speaker CBut I always told my wife, I'm like, I saved my tears.
Speaker CI saved my tears for Jesus.
Speaker CI would always tell her that.
Speaker CI'm like, I saved my tears for the Lord and literally started crying.
Speaker CI started crying.
Speaker CAnd God.
Speaker CGod audibly told me, he said, start the business.
Speaker CStart it now.
Speaker CHe's like, don't worry about it.
Speaker CJust start it now.
Speaker CDon't worry about the money.

Speaker CAnd I just was like, all right, all right.
Speaker CAnd I went to work the next day.
Speaker CAnd while I was working, I was on my computer looking for places to lease.
Speaker CI found one for affordably, you know, for affordable, like, two miles from my apartment.
Speaker CProbably less than.
Speaker CI'm probably less than that.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker CAnd then that's where it started.
Speaker CI started juicing music shop right then and there.
Speaker CI didn't know that the pandemic was coming.
Speaker CI didn't know that.
Speaker CI had no idea.

Speaker CWe do NAMM 2020.

Speaker CThe world shuts down, right?

Speaker CI'm preaching remotely now.

Speaker CMy first Sunday was the Sunday before my birthday.
Speaker CAnd that was the first Sunday I went live stream for my youth.

Speaker CNo more church.
Speaker CI wasn't playing, so I wasn't making a check from church.
Speaker CI wasn't making a check from work.
Speaker CI wasn't nothing.

Speaker CThen the music store popped off.

Speaker CWithin a month and a half, I sold out.

Speaker CBut because I just trusted in God, God sustained us through the pandemic, right?

Speaker CIt's like, yeah, perfect timing, you know, And.

Speaker CAnd then to fast forward, I sold everything.
Speaker CI didn't know that.
Speaker CI was like, the.
Speaker CAll my manufacturers were like, you're not going to get product till maybe September.

Speaker CWe're in April.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker CLike, maybe you'll get product in September.
Speaker CBecause the world was going to open up.
Speaker CAnd I told my wife, I'm like, yo, we're going to have to wait the pandemic for us.
Speaker CI know for some people, unfortunately, it was tough for me, my wife and my best friend.
Speaker CWe were having the time of our life.
Speaker CWe were literally hanging out every day, movie night, ordering food.
Speaker CI would tell my wife, I'm like, man, babe, I'm like, it's as if the government's paying us to learn how to run a business, you know, in Juice's Music Shop.
Speaker CLike, we're having the time of our lives.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd I was able to be with my wife every day, you know, like, not having to go to church every day.
Speaker CI'm like, wow, this is crazy, right?
Speaker CIt didn't mean that we weren't like, I was still having.
Speaker CI was still doing inspirational messages every morning.
Speaker CI was still doing morning prayer every Friday with my youth.
Speaker CI was still doing church on Sunday.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker CSo I wasn't, you know, remotely.
Speaker CBut.
Speaker CBut yeah, I was like, wow, God, that's incredible.
Speaker CLike, I had no idea.
Speaker CAnd because I was willing to take that leap of faith and trust in God, the business was born.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd that's obviously before.
Speaker BThat's incredible.
Speaker CJuicy ears and juicy basses and sticks and stuff like that.
Speaker CIt was just Jesus Music Shop.
Speaker CAnd the business was born from that.
Speaker CSo that was pretty Wild.

Speaker BThat's intense, actually.
Speaker BAnd that's.
Speaker BI mean, a lot of businesses started shortly before, and a lot of businesses crumbled shortly after, so.

Speaker BI mean, and just that whole story eating Taco Bell or possibly McDonald's, I can't verify that, but.
Speaker BAnd just that moment where you just heard the voice and it was like, this is what you have to do.

Speaker BAnd look what, look what that obedience has done.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BThrough the hardest time that the world has seen, at least in our lifetime, you and your family were able to thr.
Speaker BAnd your business thrived and you continued to do.
Speaker BMaybe you said you're still preaching.
Speaker BMaybe in your pajama bottom, you're still doing the.
Speaker BThat had to be done.
Speaker BAnd, and look, it was insane.
Speaker CYeah, yeah, it was insane.
Speaker CThe business.
Speaker CA lot of my friends started businesses.
Speaker CSome people didn't do well, you know, and some people did really well.
Speaker CI saw it.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CI didn't even know possible when I started the business, mind you.
Speaker CI'm first generation.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CMy I, My parents, you know, speaks more predominantly Spanish.
Speaker CAnd I told my dad, I said, hey, I'm gonna start a business.
Speaker CAnd my dad said, oh, no, it's not gonna work.
Speaker CBecause he didn't understand it.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CHe didn't understand my business.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CHe never understood that I could make a living from playing music.
Speaker CAnd, and that was five years ago, right?
Speaker CThat was five years ago, two kids ago, where I, I, I brought that up at a Thanksgiving dinner, and my dad was like, I don't know.
Speaker CAnd now we're here and I've horses relationships that were built.
Speaker CBut honestly, it's.
Speaker CWithout the help of God, it wouldn't have never been possible because I would have doubted myself and I would have never done it.
Speaker CI'd still be playing.
Speaker CTrue.
Speaker CLike, exclusively now.
Speaker CI play because I want to.
Speaker CSo.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AAnd that's when it comes like.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ABecause for a lot of musicians, like you said, you reach this plateau of just playing and going through the motions of playing, and that passion is kind of getting dwindled because of the necessity to play.
Speaker ABut when you open up your opportunities and you can do other things that don't make you have to play and you just want to play.
Speaker CIt's.
Speaker AIt's a beautiful thing.
Speaker AI've seen it with a lot of people where now they can pick and choose when they can refuse gigs because they don't have to take the gig.
Speaker AAnd that's when I feel musicians really get to blossom into who they want to be.
Speaker ADo you.
Speaker ADo you think with opening up the business, with being a youth pastor, father of two, playing music, you know, you had so much going on.
Speaker AIs there anything else that you feel you want to challenge yourself and do?
Speaker ABecause, I mean, it's incredible that you were able to do the business, but is there anything else where you're kind of like, at that same moment, just before you ate the Taco Bell, where you're considering doing something?
Speaker CYeah, absolutely.
Speaker CAt that time, my goal, I was going back and forth between opening up a donut shop and doing a business.
Speaker CDoing the music stuff.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CI wanted to do something.
Speaker CI know, right?
Speaker CI wanted to do something that was just like, people need it.
Speaker CI didn't want to try to sell coffee.
Speaker CI.
Speaker CI didn't want to try to sell, you know, bracelets.
Speaker CI wanted to do something that I know that it's gonna.
Speaker CPeople are gonna want it all the time.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CSo, yeah, there was that.
Speaker CBut my heart's always been in ministry.
Speaker CLike, even now, my heart is 100% in ministry.
Speaker CI'm the.
Speaker CI'm the music director of my church, and I oversee a lot of things.
Speaker CThe whole thing about Juice's Music Shop was.
Speaker CAnd what it came to be was so that I didn't have to worry about leaving and gigging, I could devote my time to my local community, my church, where I can sew back in ministry.
Speaker CAnd that's what Juicy Music Shop allows us to do.
Speaker CIt allows me to sew back into my.
Speaker CInto the ministry that I'm a part of without me having to be like, oh, guys, well, I gotta go, because I gotta leave Thursday and I won't make rehearsal.
Speaker CYou know, that's.
Speaker CThat's where I.
Speaker CThat's what my heart was, to build church.
Speaker CYou know, to build churches.
Speaker COur mission for Juice's Music Shop is eventually to travel abroad and do missionary work, because God called me personally and my wife to be evangelists, which we do now, but we're doing that through.

Speaker CWhich I couldn't have done in any other way because this has opened up so many doors in church.
Speaker CThat's always been.
Speaker CSince Even before Jesus Music Shop, my heart's always been in evangelism.

Speaker CAnd now we're able to travel.
Speaker CNow we're able to.

Speaker CI mean, I give honor and glory to God for that, because I know these relationships eventually will grow.

Speaker BI believe that no matter what business you opened up or what businesses you continue to open up, I can see that you're still going to have that solid foundation of your belief and your obedience to Christ.

Speaker CAnd the guy, my contact, I think he quit or he got laid off, whatever the case is.

Speaker CI'm gonna just run it.
Speaker CMy wife said, do you know how to do it?
Speaker CAnd I said, no.
Speaker CTook me a while.
Speaker CI figured it out, found manufacturer overseas, and then I launched it at the end of the pandemic or at the end of 2020.
Speaker COnce I did that, the world started opening up a little bit more.
Speaker CI started playing again.
Speaker CThen I started playing with bigger names.
Speaker CStarted playing with Chandler Moore, Todd Delaney, Naomi Rainbow.
Speaker CAnd I was taking this product everywhere.
Speaker CPeople would say, hey.
Speaker CI would tell them, what are you using?
Speaker COh, I'm using this.
Speaker CI'm using that.
Speaker CAnd I said, no, you got to use Juicy Ears.
Speaker CWhat is Juicy Ears?
Speaker CAnd I'm like, they're my headphones.
Speaker CI made these headphones, and I was making them in house in.
Speaker CIn Whittier, California.
Speaker CAnd they're like, okay.
Speaker CThey would try them.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker CAnd then their minds would be blown because everything that they were using was just, like, entry level, you know, And.
Speaker CAnd I was just bootstrapping everything.
Speaker CLike, I would just Big ten with me everywhere.
Speaker CI started growing it there with my friends.
Speaker CI had five friends that I still.
Speaker CI just played with them.
Speaker CLast weekend, we had a concert that pretty much helped me just.

Speaker CPush this juicier idea.
Speaker CAt that point, it started growing really fast.
Speaker CAll my local community started buying it.
Speaker CIt wasn't this Juicy Ears wasn't the thing where it was like, I have to convince people.
Speaker CIt was more like, hey, dude, what are you using?
Speaker CWhat is that?
Speaker CI want it.
Speaker CThat's what happened.
Speaker CSo then it started growing, and then.
Speaker CAnd I.
Speaker CThe highlight point in the beginning of this, even though I was playing with Chandler and all them.
Speaker CAnd I was.
Speaker CI was really involved with this church organization called All.
Speaker CAll Nations Worship Assembly.
Speaker CThey would.
Speaker CThey would have me come out to Vegas once a month to do, like, this new church launch that they were doing.
Speaker CI got called to play for Israel Houghton, right?
Speaker CAnd I remember they called me.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker CAnd they said, hey, man, Israel's gonna come down to do this thing called Cafe New Breed.
Speaker CAnd I said, no.
Speaker CI said, dude, like, the shop is doing well.
Speaker CLike, I don't need it.
Speaker CI don't want a gig.
Speaker CI don't want to travel to San Diego.

Speaker CIt wasn't just so much for the base playing.
Speaker CI think it was just for, like, the leadership and the relationships that I built with that church, you know, through ministry.
Speaker CAnd I said, all right, cool, I'll do it.
Speaker CSo I said, at the very least, because I didn't know what the pay situation was, like, I'm like, the very least, I'll take Juicy Ears and I'll sell some, and then I'll pay for my trip, you know?
Speaker CSo I took 12 juicy ears.
Speaker CFair enough.
Speaker CAs soon as I got there, gone.
Speaker CSold them.
Speaker CI sold them right away.
Speaker ABeautiful.
Speaker CWe had sound check.
Speaker CIsrael didn't have any ears.
Speaker CAnd everybody's like, you got to get some Juicy Ears.
Speaker CYou got to get some juiciers.
Speaker CNow, at this point, juiciers locally was a thing.
Speaker CAnd then he said, well, what's Juicy Ears?
Speaker CWhat's juiciers?
Speaker CAnd then they pointed at me.
Speaker CAnd then he's like, okay, we'll talk after soundcheck.
Speaker CSo then after soundcheck, we talked, and the video kind of went mini viral, right, of him unboxing the Juicy Ears and was, like, just blown away.
Speaker CAnd after that, he said, how much are they?
Speaker CAnd I'm like, well, it is for 70 bucks, right?
Speaker CThey're cheap.
Speaker CAnd he thought, well, let me pay him.
Speaker CLike, no, it's okay.
Speaker CLike, they're free.
Speaker CYou know, I grew up listening to you.
Speaker CTo me, it's just cool to be here, right?
Speaker CAnd he said, well, then let's cut a promo.
Speaker CHe's like, let's cut a promo video.
Speaker CAnd I said, stay less.
Speaker CSo we did a promo video.
Speaker CI held on to that video for about a month and a half because I had to get my inventory up, right?
Speaker CMind you, I'm still learning how to make this.
Speaker CI can't, right?
Speaker CI was making, like, four or five Juice years a week, if I'm lucky.
Speaker CSo I boosted up my inventory.
Speaker CI invested more money with them, you know, that we had.
Speaker CI've just invested everything.
Speaker CAnd.
Speaker CAnd.
Speaker CAnd then that was it.
Speaker CIt took off.
Speaker CBoom.
Speaker CIt started taking off.
Speaker CBoom, boom, boom, boom.
Speaker CAnd then now I'm.
Speaker CThe world opened up again by then, and my friends, you know, Mike Cliff, you know, Quentin Golage, they all started going on the road, and they were doing major stuff.
Speaker CUsher, Baby Face.
Speaker CAnd they're like, well, we want to use Juice Sears.
Speaker CAnd I was blown away because I'm like, well, yeah, yeah, they're universals.
Speaker CThey're entry level.
Speaker CIn my.
Speaker CAnd you know, in the, in this, in the price point, I was just like, wow, fair.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd yeah, then it started traveling, then churches started getting a hold of it from relationships that I've built and said, hey, we keep hearing about the juicy years.
Speaker CAnd we saw Israel.
Speaker CYeah, he gave you an endorsement.
Speaker CAll right, we'll take 10.
Speaker CAnd I said, whoa, okay, well, Jackie, I gotta figure out how to make 10.
Speaker CThat would be my, my next challenge, right.
Speaker CI was working at a part time job and eventually I started telling my boss, my father in law, he was my boss.
Speaker CCan you imagine?
Speaker CThe best, the best boss ever.
Speaker ACrazy.
Speaker CHe was.
Speaker CHe's awesome.
Speaker CHe's so awesome.
Speaker CI know.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker CI love him.
Speaker CAnd then I told him, hey man, like, the business is starting to grow.
Speaker CI think I'm gonna have to take less hours.
Speaker CAnd then I went from working whatever to like five hours a week.
Speaker CAnd then, and then eventually I told him, hey man, I gotta stop working here.
Speaker CAnd he's like, what?
Speaker CAnd then I went from multiple gigs to just, hey, man, I can't play there anymore.
Speaker CHey, dude, I can't.
Speaker CI'm sorry.
Speaker CI went from being a youth pastor, and this is before the business, but it really blew up.
Speaker CBut eventually I realized that I had to concentrate my efforts at my home church because I had, I had three.
Speaker CI had.
Speaker COkay, so we had three ministries in my mind, right?
Speaker CMy first ministry, which is my family.
Speaker CThen, okay, it's church.
Speaker CAnd then my business, right?
Speaker CThis is before my babies.
Speaker CSo I, I kind of prioritized that.
Speaker CAnd then, yeah, the business just blew up.
Speaker CThen to get to the next point, I started getting a lot of people and I went from being an artist to being a manufacturer to now accepting artists to saying like, oh, right.
Speaker CWhich was super bizarre because I'm like, yeah, wow, I can't believe I'm meeting you for the first time.
Speaker CAnd I.
Speaker CAnd, and these are the.
Speaker CYou know, this is the context of our, our meeting.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker CWhich was bizarre because I'm like, there was a.
Speaker CThere's a bass player by the name of.
Speaker CYou guys might not know who he is, but he's my favorite bass player.
Speaker CHis name is Junior Ribeiro.
Speaker CBrazilian guy, plays predominantly Christian music in Brazil.
Speaker CDude, I've been looking at this guy since I was 14 and he's amazing.
Speaker CNow he's our artist.
Speaker CAnd I'm like, dude, you're like my favorite bass player.
Speaker CLike, I grew up watching you, my team.
Speaker CI'm like, wow, so that for sure was different.
Speaker CWe started seeing the dynamic of artistry now.
Speaker CI.
Speaker CI went from when I was an artist, I just wanted not to pay for stuff.
Speaker CI wanted to get stuff for free.
Speaker CBut at the same time, I understood my value.
Speaker CSo I was working like crazy before I even became an artist.
Speaker CFor my base, for the base company I sold.
Speaker CWe sold like 15 bases through our name.
Speaker CIt wasn't like, oh, yeah, tell them I sent you.
Speaker CNo, people would send me the money and I would send it to the manufacturer and I'd be that point of contact.
Speaker CSo, right, I was building valuable value.
Speaker CMy, My, My.
Speaker CMy repertoire was growing because they were like, well, Juice might not have a mate, like, like a million followers, but he can move product.
Speaker CAnd that was it.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker BThat's big.
Speaker CWhen we opened up that gateway for.
Speaker CYeah, for jms, and we're like, yo, we want, like, people that want to be artists.
Speaker CI would tell my artist relations lady now, and I'll talk a little bit about her.
Speaker CBut I told my.
Speaker CMy artist relations, I said, hey, look, whoever wants to join our team, they got to be down to hustle, you know, because we're still growing and we don't want.
Speaker CWe don't want to just give away product.
Speaker CWe want to build a community.
Speaker CWe want to build a culture.
Speaker CSo all our artists that are with us now are.
Speaker CThey're super down.
Speaker CYou know, they've invested into the business and they've invested into the culture.
Speaker CBecause.
Speaker CBecause my goal for the job is to be at the Yamaha level.
Speaker CAnd that wouldn't have been possible had we stayed at just in ears.
Speaker CBecause now our bases, our stakes are absolutely blowing up.
Speaker CAnd I'm.
Speaker CAnd I realized this.
Speaker CAll these things that we.
Speaker CYou kind of branched into was given to me by God.
Speaker CIt wasn't just like, what's another way that I can know this was.
Speaker CThese are God moves, because God has given me the roadmap on how to get there, and he's given me the resources.
Speaker CSo of course, I could have stayed with just 10 years, and we could have been the next 64, the next JH or ultimate years.
Speaker CBut guys are like, no, it's bigger than this.
Speaker CSo then we started Juicy bases, and then we started Juicy Sticks.
Speaker CAnd now we have artists in every genre does it.
Speaker CYou know, it's not just gospel.
Speaker CIt's everything.
Speaker CR B, jazz, rock, pop, whatever.
Speaker CNow we touch the whole scope.
Speaker CYeah.

Speaker BI mean, incredible.

Speaker BI'm just sure you've come into some obstacles and roadblocks.
Speaker BWas there ever a time where you felt this familiar feeling of like, imposter syndrome or maybe this is not something that I should be doing?
Speaker BLike, did you doubt yourself?
Speaker BAnd just what's some advice to get over that?
Speaker BBecause I know that's something that people, creatives, musicians, entrepreneurs face a lot with Some advice on that.
Speaker CYeah, that's.
Speaker CThat's absolutely.
Speaker CI love that you mentioned that because that happens a lot.
Speaker CSometimes I feel unqualified.
Speaker CSometimes I feel that.
Speaker CYeah, like impostors.
Speaker CIt's that that mindset happens because you, you doubt whether this is the thing that you want to do or this is the doubt.
Speaker CYou doubt the thing that better yet to say, it's like, is this even gonna work?
Speaker CLike, is this gonna continue to move forward?
Speaker CCan I sustain this?
Speaker CYeah, I think about that all the time.
Speaker CI'm like, I can just go back on the road and make money or I can sell donuts, right?
Speaker CYou know?
Speaker CAbsolutely, man.
Speaker CIt happens all the time.
Speaker CDoubt is.
Speaker CDoubt is ever, ever present.
Speaker CIt's always going to be there because there's going to be.
Speaker CYou're going to compare yourself to something, right?
Speaker CAnd yeah, yeah, man.
Speaker CI would always be like, that would happen to me a lot and it wouldn't crush me.
Speaker CBut I'm like, lord, look, you gave this to me.
Speaker CThis is yours.
Speaker CYou do it.
Speaker CYou make way, right?
Speaker CIf you want it to succeed, it's going to be because of you.
Speaker CI'm going to work hard.
Speaker CIf this is something you've given me, I'm going to cultivate this land and turn it over and turn it over and turn it over, you know, in every season.
Speaker CBut if you want this to die, then let it die.
Speaker CI'm not.
Speaker CI'm not gonna hold myself emotionally to it because you gave it to me.

Speaker CAnd that's essentially how I carry this whole thing.

Speaker CIf it fails because God didn't, you know, he doesn't want it.
Speaker CHe doesn't want it to move forward.

Speaker CTo me, ministry is number one good outlook.

Speaker CThat's the one thing that I want to make sure that's constantly moving.
Speaker CSo whether this business does good or not, which by the grace of God, it is, I'm still going to press forward with ministry.

Speaker CThat's where I find my.
Speaker CThat's where I find my strength in knowing that God is going to take care of us because we're just constantly pouring into, you know, the love of God.
Speaker CYou know what I'm saying?

Speaker CBecause if you compare yourself.
Speaker CIf you compare yourself with other industries or other.
Speaker COr you try to go toe to toe, right away, it's like, it's not gonna work.

Speaker CLike, if I were to really compare juicy ears to 64 ultimate years, I'm like, yeah, we're not them.

Speaker CBut at the same time, like, our presence is insane and we're players now because God made room.
Speaker CSo of course I can say to myself, am I good enough for this?

Speaker CAnd me personally, if I didn't have God and I was just doing this on my own, I'd be like, nah, this is tough because those guys are masters.

Speaker BBecause I did hear you mention, you know, on a Yamaha level, for example.
Speaker BSo I see that you have these levels in the back of your mind somewhere that you're working towards.
Speaker BBut your faith isn't overwhelmed by just being faith because you also take the action steps.
Speaker BA lot of them, probably insane amounts of faith move.
Speaker BWork really hard, right?
Speaker CWhen you're an entrepreneur.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker CEverything is a faith move.
Speaker CLike last year.
Speaker CNot this time, but let's say namm, NAM is our biggest.
Speaker CThat's probably one of the most times in the year where we spend the most money.
Speaker CNow, I'm talking about a year's wages for some people.
Speaker CWe spend a lot of money.
Speaker CYeah, yeah.
Speaker COh, yes.
Speaker CMy faith gets absolutely tested.
Speaker CLast year, right, maybe two weeks before namm, we went all the way down to zero.
Speaker COur bank was at zero.
Speaker CNobody knows this, right?

Speaker CThey're just like, oh, what are you gonna come out with?
Speaker CAnd Juicy Base.

Speaker BAnd as you mentioned, like the changing landscape where it was like you had to be on tour, you had to be doing these bigger stages and now there's YouTube, there's all sorts of social media where that presence can enter you into the land of endorsements.
Speaker BSo I guess can you tell us some of the things related to, to endorsements that I mean, most artists or musicians, mainly younger, we'll say wouldn't know.
Speaker CAbsolutely.
Speaker CAnd it's a great question.
Speaker CAnd listen up, everyone that wants to be a juicy ears artist or juices music shop artist.
Speaker CThere you go, There you go.
Speaker CIt's not.
Speaker CSo when we look, when we look at our endorsed, our endorsees, right.
Speaker COr our sponsors or the people that were sponsoring.
Speaker CBetter yet, I don't do this anymore.
Speaker CI used to be the guy to do it, but now I have an artist relations lady.
Speaker CShe's the best.
Speaker CBut we look at everything.
Speaker CWe look at your following, we look at your engagement, we look at your views and we also look at the translation, right?

Speaker CSo if you have a thousand followers, maybe you might not meet the initial qualification.
Speaker CWe don't really.
Speaker CIt's hard for us to see you because we talked about before.
Speaker CYou have to be seen.
Speaker CRight?
Speaker CAnd typically it's.
Speaker CThere's a number.
Speaker CSo we used to do 10,000 minimum followers.

Speaker CThat used to be our starting point.
Speaker CIn order for you even be considered, you have to have 10,000 people following you.
Speaker CIt eventually changed because people started buying followers and you know, you basically, you know, it's not, you're not being transparent.
Speaker CSo then we no longer use the numbers.
Speaker CI mean we still kind of do.
Speaker CIt depends.
Speaker CEvery situation is different.
Speaker CBut we look at the followers, okay?
Speaker CAnd we look at the engagement.
Speaker CWe're like, okay, well you have a hundred thousand followers, but you only get 50 likes.
Speaker CThat doesn't make sense.
Speaker CThat means nobody's really following you.
Speaker CYou have a hundred thousand people, but no one's following you.
Speaker CSo there's no okay.
Speaker CSo that doesn't work.
Speaker COkay, then let's look to translation.
Speaker CSo then translation will mean like ak, Look, Anthony, you might have a thousand followers, but you're the youth pastor or the, I'm sorry, the worship coordinator of 17 churches, right?
Speaker CSo maybe you don't have the followers, maybe you don't have the engagement, but in your own personal life, in your own community, you can move units, right?
Speaker CSo now we're going to give you that opportunity.
Speaker CSo, all right, cool.
Speaker CAll right, cool.
Speaker CSo, hey, you want to be whatever?
Speaker CShow us what you can do.
Speaker CThe same way that when I became an artist for my base company, he said, well, show me what you can do.
Speaker CSo I moved units.
Speaker CAnd then he said, all right, cool.
Speaker CYou're a part of the team now.
Speaker CYou have more value than an artist because an artist is just like, hey guys, this is what I'm selling.
Speaker CWhereas you now are more like a dealer.
Speaker CYou're like, hey guys, this is what I want to sell you, right?
Speaker CSo there's, that's the scope that we look at.
Speaker CWhat I would say to young people are people that want to be endorsed by any company is this.
Speaker CTake interest in the company.
Speaker CDon't just, don't just get one and endorsement deal because you want a free product, actually like it.
Speaker CLike, you actually have to like it makes sense.
Speaker CDon't lie to yourself and, and be a part of something that you don't even like.
Speaker CLike, if you don't like our drumsticks, I don't want you to be a juicy steak artist because you don't like it.
Speaker CYou know, wait for Vic first, wait for Promark, wait for Regal.
Speaker CYou know, like, to me, there's a lot of other companies.
Speaker CWe want people that love our product that like, are die hard, juicy product people, right?
Speaker CYeah, that's one.
Speaker CTake interest to build your own community, build your own following the same way that we at Jesus Music Shop built our community.

Speaker CWe can't do all the work for you.
Speaker CI can't take our 17.6 thousand followers, not even a lot, and add them to your 1300.

Speaker CYou have to do that on your own, right?
Speaker CSo build your company, build your community on your own profile.

Speaker BBut even when somebody like, there's a lot of PR that will reach out to us and we'll say, all right, cool, let's do that.
Speaker BNot knowing very much or who the person is, and we end up in the same.

Speaker BSo it's really cool to see the expansion from that starting place to all the ways that you could be successful in music.

Speaker BAnd a lot of them, you end up being able to put the instrument down in a lot of cases and do other things and, and make right, you know, music.
Speaker BJust a labor of love.

Speaker BSo it's really cool.

Speaker BWe're living it and we're talking to a lot of people who are doing it in very different ways, globally, so many different ways.

Speaker BHe's talking about comparing, like being on a Yamaha level, but I think in the music community, they're already there.

Speaker BAnd then I talked to a gentleman who did all of that at the same time.
