Welcome to the What to Read Next Podcast, the podcast that topples your TBR with QuickBook recommendations for everybody. Today I have fast-paced psychological thrillers. If you have been on a binge for popcorn, thrillers, brain candy, just kind of like just. Little wacky suspended disbelief and lots of plotty twist insurance. These books are for you, so these are perfect. If you have read all Frieda McFadden's backlist and you're like, I need a little bit more of these ridiculous thrillers, these books are for you. I have six books. You're all available Kindle unlimited. You can actually borrow them anytime. And if you're a subscriber, if you're not, a subscriber Kindle Unlimited. This is a service you pay. a fee 1199 a month. Or you can, you may be able to purchase like a whole year ahead of time. I do have a link of how to do that, but if 11., 99 months, you can borrow as many books as possible. You have up to 20 books you can borrow at any time, but you can just switch 'em over. It doesn't tell you if the book leaves can limit it, but you have borrow it. It will stay there. You can just keep them. You can read them. So in order to break even, you should read at least three books a month in order to do that. But if you're an avid reader who reads a little bit of everything Kindle Unlimited is for you. Kindle Unlimited actually has cozy mysteries, mystery, psychological thrillers, like the ones I'm talking about, a lot of romance. They do have magazines, like popular magazines, like People Magazine pic and other magazines are available. Kindle Unlimited, there's no options for Kindle Unlimited read and listen, where you can actually borrow the book and you can listen to the book. All included in the price. So there's a little bit of everything. There's more than 4 million books available and can limit it. So it is a great service and if you're thinking about boycotting can limit it to hurt. Jeff Bezos. Please do not do that. It does not hurt Jeff Bezos. They actually lose money. We can limit it. It is a way they don't actually gain money. The ones who are actually gonna be heard by boycotting are authors that earn a living by selling their books on Kindle Unlimited the way authors get paid and can limit it is to pages read. So if you read a book once they get paid for it. So that's where you see a lot of like long books or even a lot of short books and stuff like that. They get paid for those big pages read. So the real people who are actually gonna be helping is can limit it. If you wanna help the little guy, a small business owner, Kindle Unlimited is a great place to support indie authors, and it's a great place to discover new indie authors And it's a great place to read on a budget. You are not hurting Jake Bezos by boycotting Kindle Unlimited you're only hurting the Indie authors. So I just wanna say this. Over and over, you're not hurting Jeff Bezos by boycotting Kindle Unlimited. You're hurting in the authors that actually depend on this money to sustain, to live and to write. So again, if you wanna boycott and you wanna herd Jeff Bezos, cut your Amazon Prime. Not Kindle Unlimited thank you for listening to my soapbox. All right, so these books are perfect for Freida McFadden Fants they're fast paced, they're popcorn thrillers they're brain candy. They're just like quick, and just lot of twist and turns. So let's get to the recommendations. The first one is Love, Mom by Ilana Xander this book has been a Kindle Unlimited top 100 books, so actually read it. Loved it. It's great. So this one is What if your mother's biggest Secret were hidden in her diary and someone wanted you to read them. Love Mom. But Mackenzie work to is turned upside down where her bestselling author mother dies in a suspicious accident, but instant closure. She receives a serious envelope containing pages on her mother's diary signed by anonymous. Number one fan as she pieces this together to truth, Mackenzie realized that her mother's success may have cognitive terrifying cause this is when this practice is found. Deception and chilling, unraveling family secrets. So if you like family secrets, you're like, drama you like is someone who's you have a number one fan who can be a stalker, who wants you actually hurt you. This book is for you. It is wa suspended disbelief, but it's just fine. So that's Love, Mom by Ilana Xander. In the next couple books I haven't read, but they're actually my TBR as someone who just needs like a quick thriller just to get by. So the first one is The Cheating Husband by James Caine so if you love thrillers with Slow Burn explos into chaos, this one's for you. The Cheating Husband, A woman in the cheating husband, A woman discovers in her picture. Perfect boyfriend is actually Mary. I love this. Love this whole thing. Love people behaving badly, but that's just the beginning of the nightmare. As she digs deeper, she realized the secret go far beyond fidelity. The me she's trapped in is anything but normal, but the truth hiding beneath the surface is darker than she ever imagined. With jaw dropping plot twists we let up, this one's perfect. fans of Frieda McFadden and Kiersten Modglin So these two authors, Kiersten Modglin actually writes a lot Short, they're like about relationships and stuff. They're really good. Those are quick six hour audios. You can listen like in a couple, in a sitting on a couple sittings. They're fine. The Frieda McFadden as always is just a try and true is they're just like. Popcorn thrillers, they're like easy to read and they're bingeable. So you can just sit and read a couple of them. You're just like, okay, I'm just like having my time. So this is The Cheating Husband by James Caine, which is like a riveting thriller that we just can't wait to read. So I'm excited to this one. All right. The next one is Sweet Little Lies for Leah Cupps so Reese has it all, a thriving bakery and dream engagement to a wealthy, charming tucker. But as her wedding day approaches, she starts receive anonymous threats, warning her to call it off. As she digs into Tucker's past, she finds unsettling connection to his ex-fiancee Charlotte, who mysteriously vanished a year ago. Is Charlotte back her revenge or is someone else determined to keep Reese from making the fatal mistake if you lost psychological Trish, with we drama, deep secrets and nature twist, you need to read this on A TBR so. God bless. You're not supposed to, you're not sure who you're married to. Like I love this trope who is your husband? What do you know about him? What is the past? Especially when they have mysterious fiance or ex-wife's dead ones and you're like, how does this happen? And they have multiple kind you're like there's a full red flag here. And I'm like, committing. I'm like putting my life in danger to being with this person. Love this. So that's sweet Little Lies by Leah Cupps. All right. Now we're gonna go to my favorite trope of thrillers. Bachelorette of parties, hen parties, bachelorette parties, travel, bachelor parties, all the things. I love this. This is like frenemies. This is toxic friendships. These are people who are supposed to like, each other, but they don't like each other and they're just like mean girls. This is like my cup of tea. I am actually gonna do a whole bachelor party. Episode because I love these thrillers. But this one is The Bachelorette Party by Catherine O'Connell, and this went a wild night out, a blackout hangover, and a friend found dead the next morning. What really happened? A Maggie's Bachelorette party. With only 14 days until her wedding, Maggie must retraced the events of the night before a uncovered. Truth what Angie says, an accident or is one of Maggie's close friends hiding something deadly. This is a perfect mix of dark secrets. Party gone wrong, shocking, final twist that will keep you guessing in the very little to until the very end. This is like the hangover of a thriller. When Inso like just not sure what happened. Somebody was dead, and you have to figure out what the heck just happened. So that's The Bachelorette party that Catherine MCC Connell. If you want more book recommendations for bachelor parties, leave a comment and I'll try to make you an episode in the next couple weeks. So that's happening. All right. The next one is another one with a murder couple. So it's Innocent Wife Sally Royer Derr thought that she had the perfect marriage until she met her husband's new colleague Natalie. And since immediately hostility, but as Olivia starts, the investigation, uncovers the story truth about her husband's past, as well as another woman trapped in this. In a web of lies, but Olivia isn't innocent as scenes either. This is a grip, psychological thriller about love, betrayal, and revenge, because sometimes the wire has secrets of our own. So this one's a married couple, in trouble or some sort, like we're just uncovering truth, and I love the fact that we have it on the reliable narrator. That we cannot trust or you're just like a good person. They might have their own secrets, they driving force and this is covering those pieces. So I'm really excited for this one. All right, this one, I actually just picked it up for this reason. So Eight Years of Lies by Lisa Hall. And imagine scrolling through Facebook and seeing a women's desperate post searching for her missing husband and child, only to realize that your husbands and daughter that, to realize that's they're your husband and daughter. That's exactly what happens. Eight years lie if we tired, is trying to figure out who she's really married to. Her husband vanishes leaving her with more questions and answers. The book is full of sh twist, gaslighting, and a mystery that keeps from rattling to her last page. Okay. I love Facebook for many reasons. I actually don't purchase in Facebook, although you'll see my content on Facebook is gonna make some money. But the reality is that I love Facebook for petty gossip reasons, because people go in and they are just like passionate about it. Do I engage with that? No, I do not engage, but I do enjoy being a spectator. And so I love the idea of you're scrolling the Facebook and you're like, wait, I know these people, what is going on? Seriously, this is such a good premise for Thriller. Like it's I'm surprised there's no lifetime movie created for this lifetime should actually make this kind of content. My mom loves lifetime movies, so whenever I go in Puerto Rico, I watch them. They're great. So yes, this is like my kind of book where it's like Facebook people talking strangers and then realizing you're missing husband and child. You need to realize they're your husband and daughter. What is happening? So, ugh, so good. So good. So there you have it. You have six fast-paced psychological thrillers you can read now. Kindle Unlimited it if you liked our secrets and rely on and mind blowing interest. These books will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.
