>> RB: Winner, winner, winner, winner, chicken

dinner. I've been on both sides

of golf failures.

And then the, the, the top of

the. Just the pinnacle of golf.

Yeah, um, in the last two weeks, it was, it was

tough, you know.

>> Jonathan: Um, well, I look forward to getting into it. I mean, I

wasn't like, trying to tell you, just start talking about it. I mean, I want to

hear about you. How you doing mentally, how you feeling?

>> RB: I feel, I feel pretty good, man. I'm a little

sore, gotta be honest. I mean, a little sore.

I got pretty sunburned the last few

days. The legs, oh, man, the back of the

legs. The, um, elbows are

absolutely toasted.

Red Lobster Red.

Um, but we're hanging in there. The body's a little banged

up right now, boys.

>> Jonathan: So that, that brings up a good point here. Uh,

on today's show, uh, a lot to cover, a lot to get

into. But, um, you

said red. So naturally we are right now

>> Jonathan: You get to the clubhouse, you know, you pull into the golf

course, you go into this old nostalgic clubhouse and you see the

sunscreen, you know, and that shit has to be bad.

Nowadays they have sunscreen that is like, you know,

eco friendly, it saves water,

it's great for the skin. Would you

lather in the clubhouse suntan lotion? Because

Sunscreen lotion, because obviously, as you exhibited here

recently, uh, playing in Florida, you got a little burnt, bud.

>> RB: I did, I did. Leading into the first

couple of matches, um, which we'll get into.

But I put it on the spots that I

thought I needed it. The nose, the cheeks,

uh, the ears, the neck.

>> Jonathan: The neck.

>> RB: You never really think about like your

elbows or the back of your legs.

Um, but I guess that's part of being

an adult, right? Like to think of those things.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I, I never ever thought

about putting sunscreen on.

>> RB: Oh my God.

>> Jonathan: And then recently I thought, you

know, and maybe not so much for

the safety component of it, but rather

the aspect of, hey, I'm getting older. I don't Want to have

wrinkles? I don't want to have any type of.

Maybe, yeah, maybe something pop its head up and be a little.

Not good for the skin.

>> RB: Yeah.

>> Jonathan: Um, and I've been really trying to put a little

more body lotion on. How weird's

that? It's not really that weird, but

you got to just keep care of yourself.

>> RB: Take care of your skin. Right. And, and I didn't,

um, I really let it down this past week.

Um, but it's a, it's

a, a lesson I learned right now. I know. Back of

the legs, elbows.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, right.

I mean, so listeners out there, what we're

talking about right now is my man, Mr. Jonathan Pepe. It

is, it is March. It is still the first

quarter of 2025. And not only has he been on

multiple golf trips, my man just won

the 2025 member guest at

Pelican Golf Club in Clearwater,

Florida with our third

amigo, Brandon Katsif. So

what's victories feeling like right now, bud? Because

it's been a while since you really had that type of feeling.

>> RB: I feel it's been a while, man. Um, I

will say, I don't know if you've realized this, but,

um, kind of cool that I've won

Member guest with my best friends. Yeah,

um, you know, we done it. I, I have a

Nicolin Woodlands, um, member

guest championship under my belt with my father.

I have Pikewood, um, National

under my belt with you.

>> Jonathan: Mhm.

>> RB: And then I have the Pelican Golf Club with Brandon Katsuff.

And um, man, does it feel good to be back in the

winter circle.

>> Jonathan: You know, and, and for the listeners out

there, that, that, that eat this golf

up. How hard is it to win a

member guest coming out of the first

flight? You guys were in the first flight, correct?

>> RB: Um, we were number one seed in the first flight.

>> Jonathan: So there. That's like.

Yeah, that's impressive. It's grueling.

>> RB: It was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun.

And um, I mean we, we

had great matches. We had five matches, uh, two

on Thursday, two on Friday, and then

one Saturday. Um, and it

was a blast, dude. I will say though, um,

so good.

>> Jonathan: I know, I keep. Because I'm, I'm just talking while

you're bringing points up. But I will say, and we'll pivot back

to what you just said. I like the 1,

2, 2 format of the member guests. Thursday you

play a little like Thursday 1, Thursday

1 and 2 on Friday and 2 on

Saturday. But in this case

it worked. Out.

>> RB: 2, 2, 1.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. And that worked out in your favor because, bud, you had. You had a flight

to catch.

>> RB: Well, I had a flight to catch, and, um, my

legs were absolutely on fire.

So, um. But, I mean,

I. I'll tell you a story. Right out of the gate, we're walking first

hole, Pelican or playing

a team from. From Virginia.

And, um, we're in one fairway, and I look over

and I said, uh. He said, have you been playing golf this year much? I

said, actually, I just got back from the Pine Needles Invitational this past

Sunday. And he said, oh, my God, I did,

too. That's awesome. I

said, you played in it? I played in it. That's pretty cool. So we're

off to a good start. Then he proceeded to ask me if I

was in the senior division. Bud, are you

kidding me? Did you play in the senior division?

>> Jonathan: I mean, so what's he trying to insinuate? That you look over 50.

>> RB: I look like I'm, uh. Yeah. That I'm over 50.

And I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I think

in this thing, it's. In this instance, it's probably a bad

thing. And I looked at him and I said,

how old do you think I am? And he had said, well,

that's why I thought you were in the senior division. And I said, well, I'm 38

years old, bud.

>> Jonathan: I mean, he overshot you by 12, dude.

>> RB: So. Well, I think he had me at 30 or, uh, 51 or

52. So, um. But we proceeded

to win that match. Brandon and I won that match. Six and a half, two and a

half. So I, um. When we shook hands, I

proceeded to tell him, not bad for a senior division player, huh?

>> Jonathan: Did you really?

I mean, you know.

>> RB: Wrong.

>> Jonathan: He's not wrong. So that's great.

So the. You know, you get into the shootout and that's when the

blood starts going. I mean, I take it back to the Pete. Old Pete

Dye days. The old Pete Dye days.

And when Tango and BK got

into the shootout, Tango had his whoop going, and his heart rate

was up to like 145. And he was just standing there. He was

just nervous as Nelly.

>> RB: Yeah.

>> Jonathan: Um, so what was that?

>> RB: But there's certain people that have it and don't have it, and people

like Tango like to think they have it, but,

um, when you get under the gun and something that you

can't necessarily control, it's

a whole different ball game. Like,

there was numerous times in this shootout that I told

Brandon. They're not making it. They're just not

making it, dude. Like the. I don't care who

you are, what professional sport you played in your whole

entire life, how many of these shootouts are

on. Your blood's going, dude, you're, you're, you want to

puke, um, the

keys to breathe a little bit. But

I mean for, for, you know,

65 year old guys that have never been in a shootout and they

have a four foot putt to advance.

120 people watching you,

that's not something that you're used to. So that's why I'm not

saying somebody has it more than others, but I'm

saying no matter who you are, that's why we're playing in this

event. You're nervous. I was nervous,

yeah. I mean, I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't

nervous. I will say

I was very calm, but

still nervous, if that makes sense.

>> Jonathan: Um, no, it does. I mean, I

think, you know, but you also have the experience because you

played collegiate golf. But it doesn't matter. That was my point

a couple weeks ago. Like, even when you're teeing

it up in the tournament on the first tee, if you don't have

nerves, then you shouldn't be there.

>> RB: But, um, well, you just mentioned like Tango at Pete

Dye, his heart rate, I mean, he played at the pinnacle of sports,

right?

>> Jonathan: Right.

>> RB: Professional hockey. And he's nervous. Well, it's

because you, you don't know how to control those nerves

in that situation. It's not that it's a bad thing,

it's a great thing. It's just how do you control

it? And I have

found doing that would be, you know,

breathing deeply, taking deep breaths. Make sure

you're breathing because I can't tell you how many times you're standing over a

putt and all of a sudden you stop breathing for a second because

you're going to hit the spot.

>> Jonathan: I know, that's, that's the most nerve wracking part.

You know, you can feel it and you actually

feel it. And look, we're amateurs,

but we still feel

that. Especially me and my legs. Dude, your

legs almost go numb. They just feel like you can't even move them when

you're over the butt. It does that. It does

that.

>> RB: Well, I'll tell you,

I mean, I think I smoked

five cigars Thursday. Five cigars on Friday.

>> Jonathan: Five.

>> RB: Yeah, each day. And then Saturday

I had one before we were teeing off, leading

into teeing off. And then I had one during the nine holes.

And so we got to the shootout and I lit one up

because I'm like, that's kind of my calming. I actually felt sick,

boys. I couldn't smoke the cigar

anymore. BK was like, why aren't you smoking a

cigar? I'm like, because I don't want to.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> RB: But in reality, I wanted to puke.

So, um, it was,

uh, but again, the, the tequila helped a little

bit. And like I said, you know, um,

the shootout, the format and the shootout at

Pelican was, was awesome. So I, I really liked

it. They kind of did the same thing that pike would just started

doing, um, which I would say

that it favors

your better handicappers.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> RB: In their format that they have.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah. Because you got

high cappers hitting it from 130

over water to a tucked right pin.

>> RB: Right.

>> Jonathan: I mean, that's chunk city all day long.

>> RB: Right. Or blocky, you know,

or thin. I mean, there's a lot that can go on in these

shootouts and, uh, you just got to hit solid shots. Well, I

gotta hit solid shots.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Well, I look forward to continuing this discussion because here

in a little bit on the show, we're gonna bring in Brandon

Katsif and we're gonna get his perspective because there's a lot

of, you know, BK is a phenomenal

golfer, uh, even better friend. But, you

know, there's times where you just got a

feeling that the guy over the putt, you're nervous

for him, you know, and I understand there were some big putts that

he made. So I'm, I'm, um, I'm excited to get

him on here in a little bit and, um,

and, and, and yuck it up with him and hear his perspective

briefly on that. But, you know, so you, you kind of

went, you, you went right in a Pelican. You were a little warmed up because

you had coming off the Pine Needles Invitational, which was

another stellar event. So you're two for two

in a, in a two week period, which is phenomenal.

So hats off. Um,

but Pine Needles was great. I mean, it was a little

different this year in terms.

>> RB: A little different. We were, you know, we were down one

soldier, but we had another soldier fill in, uh,

temporarily.

>> Jonathan: Um, there's nothing better than going on

a golf trip and staying under one roof

together with the boys. I mean, because then,

then the camaraderie continues through the night and

you want to go to bed at 9:00, which is pretty much par for our

course. You can, you uh, get a nice

dinner, you come back, watch a little college hoops. I was on a heater there

rooting for Texas State with my boy ip,

uh, a couple weeks ago. And we play some

G. But I did not play.

I did not play that well. Uh, not that you asked me how

I just played, but I am just telling you frankly, I did not. It

was putting, dude. It was putting.

>> RB: It was very difficult.

>> Jonathan: Well, it was. But it's also not so

difficult to where you.

You miss gimmes

and not even sniff the hole.

>> RB: But that's why you put back to. That's why you putt

these.

>> Jonathan: Well, I understand that. But still, it's

like, you know, you got to make those

putts.

>> RB: Mhm.

>> Jonathan: You got to make those putts.

>> RB: Right.

>> Jonathan: And I didn't. So that's

that. But, um,

but we had a good time.

>> RB: Did you end up order? I know, um, one night

we were, um, indulging in beverages

and everything else.

Um, and you had mentioned that you were

ordering a putter. Did

you do that? Did it. The order finally go through or did you

kind of just. It didn't go through, so I'm gonna let it go.

>> Jonathan: No, I. I pulled back on that. And

the reason why I pulled back on that was

because, um, you

know what you said, you said, buddy, you were putting good with that putter. Like.

Yeah.

>> RB: Why would you just because you put three rounds bad, bud. Why you gotta give

up on it?

>> Jonathan: But here's the deal. We went over to Pinehurst and we

played the. The 18 hole mini putt putt

course, which was, I mean, just ass kicking all

over. But one of the things that I

always did with my putting up m

until I got these new

bentonartis. One of the things that I've always done

when I putted extremely well, I was, I

was a forward presser. I would forward press.

That was kind of my. You know, everyone has

their little gimmick. They do before takeoff. And that was

my gimmick. Before pulling the

trigger, I just had that little forward press, take it back,

one motion, stroke it through, no wrists

involved. And I just felt very

confident with that stroke. Well, I got away from that. I did get away from

that. And what I started to do was in, instead of

forward pressing, I actually would lift

the putter up and then.

>> RB: Take it back and then take it back.

>> Jonathan: And the reason for that was A, that was

my brain filling the void of

no forward press. But also B, I was, I

was hitting the putts a little more

solid. So I started doing that well,

when I transitioned over to this new putter

that I have, I never forward pressed.

I still did the same. Same herky

jerky takeaway. And I think that really,

A, had an effect on my feel, um,

because my feel is not as good, and

B, also mess with the stroke in terms

of accuracy. So when

we were on that little dang putting green, I'm putting around there,

you know, and if you recall, you know, I.

I started with that putter. I was just so mad at how I

was putting. I said, you know what? I'm gonna just go back to this old

stroke. And I just started forward pressing,

boom. Forward press, boom. Forward press, boom.

So Sunday at Southern Pines, I put it

into motion, and

I made a couple nice putts. I made a couple great

putts. Specifically, um, on the back nine,

save par. And the bottom line

is this. The ball was starting

directly on my line with topspin.

And it felt so natural to me to do this.

So that's what I'm gonna start. Because I hear

it. It's like, oh, uh, you know, are you sure?

But no, that's. That's where I'm

at right now with this putter. So I did not order a new putter.

>> RB: Good.

>> Jonathan: I'm keeping a putter.

>> RB: It deserves a chance. I mean, it's.

>> Jonathan: It's.

>> RB: It's been a good ride.

>> Jonathan: It's a great putter. It's a great.

>> RB: It's a betting already. It's a great putter, but

you can't just give up on it after a bad showing.

You ever think maybe it was you? Which clearly it might.

>> Jonathan: It was 100. It was 100

me. And, you know, so

I'm happy.

>> RB: Not the arrow, the Indian.

>> Jonathan: Right, right, right.

But overall, the swing and this week, you know, the

weather here that we are having right now is

phenomenal. Specifically today. And. And, you know,

this whole past week, earlier in the week. And,

um, so I got out a little bit, played a little G

swing.

>> RB: You did play a little bit?

>> Jonathan: Well, yeah, yesterday I played it at the

Pines.

>> RB: Really?

>> Jonathan: Wednesday. Yeah. Wednesday. Yeah. Did you play with

a couple boys, Poke?

>> RB: Oh, uh. Nice, bud.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. So my, um,

swing's feeling. My swing's feeling good. I'm not worried about the ball striking.

Now, one thing I did do, this is for the

technical, um, golfers, is I had a really

hard transition to these SM10s, which I

told you about.

>> RB: Hm.

>> Jonathan: So I start. I built a new one. I, uh, started with my

46, and I put the KBS610

wedge shaft in instead of the

dynamic gold wedge flex, which isn't even wedge flex.

And I'm hitting balls in the sim.

And number one, the flight is a little lower for

sure. But number two, my distance is there

now, again in the control. So what I'm going to do

is I'm going to take that same setup and I'm going to apply it to

my 50, uh, 8,

my 54, and my 50. So

now I'm gonna have 46, 50, 54, 58,

all with these 610 shafts and wedge shafts.

Because I couldn't get the ball. I couldn't like

my 54. My new SM 1054, it just was going

everywhere. Everywhere. And left, right,

short. I mean, we're talking like under 100 yards, and it's

like 110 carry club for me, you know?

So with that being said,

uh, I'm continuing our trend of member guests this

weekend with my pops on Sunday.

Yeah, Sunday starts the, uh, chessy

member guest in South Carolina. And my dad said,

hey, you want to be my guest? And I said, I will be

your guest. So this is the first time me and

pops have played in a member guest together, which is gonna

be great. And it's exciting. It is.

>> RB: It's fun.

>> Jonathan: And, you know, I just. I just look forward

to it.

>> RB: Um, do you think that, like, you think you'll

ever get disappointed with him throughout the round, or you think you're gonna try

to, like, be supportive of the guy?

>> Jonathan: Yeah, be supportive, because that's what he needs. You know,

he'll. He'll.

>> RB: He doesn't need you to beat him up. Um, he'll beat himself up.

>> Jonathan: Exactly. And I'll be there for support because,

you know, and. And the old man can putt.

He can. He can roll it. So he's gonna

be getting pops. He'll be playing up. I

don't even know what flight we're gonna be in. I mean, I'm thinking

maybe three, four.

>> RB: Right.

>> Jonathan: Um, and hopefully I'm catching one or two,

but you get one or two.

>> RB: I don't know if you end up getting one being in the third or fourth flight, but

they're gonna be playing off your balloon.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah, I'm not going to be getting any, but,

um. But I'm looking forward to it and.

>> RB: Well, that's great. I'm excited for you to be in the member gets chessies.

That'll be a nice one if you can get that under the belt.

Um, but I would agree with you

on, uh, back to your little wedge talk there conversation

um, you know, I've. I've.

As of my last three wedge sets, I've

gone, um, you know, my standard

6.5 in my 50.

And then a little softer, a little lighter,

uh, the 6.0 and the 54. And then in

my 60, I'm actually using the, um,

S400, which is really soft and light,

and did that 60. You should saw some of the

wedge shots I hit with that 60. And it's

a couple of these matches, bud, down there.

>> Jonathan: Oh, I mean, you got that thing. You open that thing

wide open.

>> RB: Wide open, dude. There was one. Brandon even told me, he said, I'm so proud

of you, because I got up and down, boys. It was dead.

And he told me he was so proud of me. Made me. Made my heart a little

warm.

>> Jonathan: Well, you do. I mean, you know, and that's. That's one thing

you do well with that club, dude, is you. You get that little

thing up. It sits on a dime.

It sits on a dime.

How's it. How's it feeling with the, uh, with the new

Pro V?

>> RB: I love it, dude. I love the new Pro V.

Um, on

Thursday, we literally, we had 30 mile an hour

winds. And I will tell you, I noticed,

um, that was the day at the Bay Hill where everybody. It was like

most cumulative score by PGA Tour players, like 180

over par. And it was 30 miles an hour where

we were. And I will tell you, that Pro V, one

downwind never,

like, went up on me, if that makes sense

for people that understand the golf ball, like,

can get too spinny and get caught up in the wind and just

sail. Um, never did that

on me. And into the wind. Now, if you hit it

solid or it's going to hold its line.

But even some of my mishits, it still held its lot.

Now, there were a couple that were really bad mishits

that really went. But, um, for the most part,

that ball so good.

>> Jonathan: What, what. What do you. How you feeling about your driver?

>> RB: Happy?

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> RB: Happy? Yeah.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. I think it's really. Well,

so it's. It's.

It's noticeable. I mean, that ball is

noticeable. I think more like you just said in the

wind.

>> RB: 100 for into the wind. Indeed around the

greens. Yeah, those things here. I love

that. So thank you, Eric Childers. We appreciate it.

But you hooked it up. We appreciate you.

Um, I wonder if Titleists will

use my image for one of their ad. Whatever. Um,

you know, because when you win events, they put you up

on their.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I mean, you're forever ingrained in

the Pelican Golf Club. And the best part is, my man

BK just joined within the last six months, so this is like a

rookie initiation.

>> RB: This is not. This is not a great

look for him. Um, so.

But hey, we played our tail off, I'll tell you

that. It wasn't. And that's the crazy thing. It's not like

we made a ton of birdies. We didn't make a ton of birdies.

Literally, we did not. I. I mean, I

made maybe

in five matches, I made. I didn't have a birdie the

first day. Second day, I

think I had two

in. In 18 holes. And then the third

day and nine holes, I had two. So I. I had four

birdies and five match. It's not like we tore it up.

It's just we played really solid, and we did not

make a bunch of mistakes that could have been made that were

made by other people, if that makes sense.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> RB: Um, but our birdies were at, ah, timely

fashions, and we'll get into that.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah. No, I mean, you gotta. You gotta

ham an egg it, man. In these events, you gotta ham and egg

it. And. And it sounds like that's what you guys did.

So I want to get beat cats on. On

here, um, and hear his. His

perspective. So we'll. We'll

allow him to enter the chat as soon as he

can, which is great.

Which is great.

>> RB: But the thing. It was exciting. It was. It was

fun. Um, the shootout was exciting. I mean, there was a lot that

happened.

Um, you

know, BK made a two and a half foot

putt, uh, to advance us,

and it came m down to a two and a half foot putt

to win. And so we'll get into

that.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, when he.

>> RB: When he joins us out and chat about

it.

>> Jonathan: Um, the. The PGA Tour event

was a great watch. I mean, seeing Russell Henley get that thing

done, I thought more cow was gonna do it. I really

did. Um,

but, man, it was. It was great. Oh, here

we are.

>> RB: There he is. Look at him smiling.

>> Speaker C: Why not, right? Nice hat, Pep.

>> RB: I should have had the sport coat on, bud. That would have been a nice touch of

that hat.

>> Speaker C: How come I can't see Bash?

>> Jonathan: Well, uh, yeah, my, my.

>> RB: I'm having technical. Thank you.

>> Jonathan: We wanted. We wanted to try this out. Bk,

congratulations. Uh, the man, the myth,

the legend is here on chasing birdies right now.

And, uh, dude, what? It's like, it's

like, you know, what's the feeling right now, bud? This is a big

deal, especially six months into your membership.

>> Speaker C: Yeah, I hope that was the

joke. That was the joke around the club is that. I hope,

uh, that I enjoyed it because it would be my first and my last

since the, uh, newbie got in and, and, you

know, Pepe and I were able to be victorious.

>> Jonathan: Well, I gotta ask you, because all of our friends that. Listen, you

know, we. I

mentioned earlier on the show that you're a phenomenal golfer,

even better person. But I

heard. I heard some chit chatting that, uh, a lot

of people were a little nervy about you with this

two and a half footer you had to make. You had to

make it. I mean, and you made it.

>> Speaker C: I did. I did.

>> Jonathan: What, uh, you know, what were you feeling? I mean, a

little nervy, of course.

>> Speaker C: You know, obviously get the nerves going. Um,

we putted well all week. That's what Jonathan and I were talking about.

We, we had a flight home afterwards, so we got to.

To recap, uh, the weekend and

Southwest. Yeah, of course, Little

chick fil a for the champions dinner.

But it was. The greens were so good.

I, um, mean, Bash, you were there in January, but

they were on another level from then. You know, you

just hit your line and made the stroke.

And honestly, we didn't miss any short putts all

week, so we had the confidence going in and we felt like the

format, you know, being in the first flight,

sometimes you don't even get to, uh, you know,

with strokes and things like that, you don't even get a chance to putt. So

with the format, we were. We were really excited about it, so. And

I was excited that I did make the putt too.

>> RB: So I think everyone was,

um. Yeah, I mean, the shootout

was. It favored us, I would

say, not us, but it favors the

better handicappers. Um, anybody that's hitting from

170, I think they said like 0 to 6 handicap, 1

to 170, and then 150 and then 130

where your handicap fell. And,

um, it was all over water.

Uh, tucked right pin.

So I was first to hit. And seven iron. It

was like a cross downwind. Seven iron to like

20ft. And then BK almost

made the darn thing. Um, so I had a little

tap in and then we advanced.

And, um,

BK said, you think seven iron? And I said, yeah, I think that's

what I just hit. And,

um, thank God he did not hit it

good, because he. That ball might still be

bouncing down the highway somewhere over the clubhouse.

>> Speaker C: He out hit da on the back.

>> RB: Porch and he hit it a little

Heavy. And we were all yelling, go, go.

Because it did. It looked like it was just gonna land

10ft short of the.

The. The, um, ledge of the water. We thought it was gonna

be in the water. A lot of people did. And, dude,

for whatever reason, this thing carried, and it hit right

on this knob, and it just

bounced, and people

started going nuts. Well, here. It almost went in.

>> Speaker C: They thought it was in, which would have been sick.

>> RB: It went over the lip.

>> Jonathan: How far?

>> RB: 15Ft.

>> Jonathan: Okay.

>> RB: Rolled out 15ft because the wind was going that way, too.

So it was like. So

then I had a putt. It was a big snapper

right to left. And I just wanted

to mosey it down there because nobody was making a two. And I kept saying that.

Nobody's making a two. Nobody is. I mean,

four foot putt in that. You're

not making it. You're just not.

And, um, I hit it, like, sure. I hit it two and a

half feet by. And I'm, like, so disappointed.

>> Jonathan: Here we go.

>> RB: And I could tell BK was thinking about it a little

bit, and I'm like, you know what? Our caddy was

great, dude. He was like, listen, you've made these all week. You're

good. Our caddy was great. He had two names, for

whatever reason.

John and Chase, I think, right?

>> Speaker C: Jaz.

>> RB: But yeah, Chaz.

>> Speaker C: And he spent three days with the guy, Chaz.

>> RB: Well, he had John on his bib, but he wanted us to call him Ch.

Chaz, like, so.

BK, go up there. I closed my eyes. I looked at the crowd,

close my eyes. Da closed his

eyes. We found out, and,

uh, hit the bottom of the cup,

bud. Ah.

>> Jonathan: Uh, so you closed the eyes and Da was there. That's

phenomenal.

>> Speaker C: Yeah. Da came to pick us up for the. To take us to the

airport. Little did he know he was. He was in for a

treat.

>> Jonathan: He probably loved it. He probably lit up. Ah, a cigar.

>> Speaker C: Did you see the, uh. Did you see the video when we were

walking out to the shootout? Um, I just did a

little, little video. It was on my story. And I turned

around and I look back, and Da is right behind me.

And he gives me the thumbs up. I said, dad, get up on the

porch with everyone else.

>> RB: You're even supposed to be here at all.

>> Jonathan: He's inside the ropes cheering the boys

on.

>> RB: So then we went back for the three teams advance. First

team hit in the water, which is not a great

visual for me to go next. And I

was really amped up, so I'm like, with. Wait. With How?

BK just hit that last one and got over. I'm smoking eight

iron.

>> Speaker C: No, he took seven and out. I said, Pep, hit this. Hit the eight iron,

man. Just swing it.

>> RB: So I smoked eight iron.

>> Jonathan: So you hit eight.

>> RB: Um, and it went

to 20ft, left of the stick.

And another, uh, team hit it to,

like, right at the stick.

>> Speaker C: Pretty good, right? Actually where you were almost putting from last time,

second round.

>> RB: And I think

they went first, and they. They hit it by like four

feet. BK hit it by, like two and a

half feet. And I'm thinking to myself, this guy's not making

it. Like, there is zero chance he's making it. Not

because he's not good. He just made one. But they're.

It's two teams. The. The pressure is

you can't make it. So he misses it

low side. And I'm sitting there thinking to myself, well, if I miss it, we go

back and hit another shot. So at least we got that in. For

us, it was a right to left

turn, center cut. Yep,

done. We win, boys.

>> Jonathan: Oh, um, man.

>> RB: So it felt good.

>> Jonathan: What a feat. And the trophy looked great. What is it, a

picture of the clubhouse?

>> Speaker C: Yeah. So it was in the, um, when we were

there, it was on display in the, um, men's

locker room. But, yeah, it's a replica of the clubhouse. But

it was. It was a little heavy. Pepe's making fun of me. Justin

came out, I took my one hand off of it, put my arm around

him. My hand was shaking a little bit, bud. I

didn't want to drop that thing.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, you guys. So what do you

get? Like, what did you get? Is that what you get that trophy or they

make.

>> Speaker C: That trophy stays, uh, there.

>> Jonathan: And it's on your name on it?

>> Speaker C: Yeah. In the history books. Pepe and,

and cats. If, um, but we get

replicas. Supposedly they're shipping us replicas.

We got 500 pro shop credit, which I

think Pepe and I bought a hat. And then we. We took care

of the kids and the wives since. Since they were back home.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, get them more swag.

>> Speaker C: A couple. Couple bottles of scotch. That, that,

um, yeah,

so.

>> Jonathan: So winning the member guest poses the question

of, you got to bring the

guest back after you won. Right? I mean, you

got to.

>> Speaker C: The best is. The best is. He says to me, and I don't know

what round it was, but we're walking and. And

honestly, the event was so good. Like,

phenomenal. Great flight. We had great

competition. Uh, we lost a match. We tied a

match. We tied two matches.

>> RB: Right Two, uh, matches. Lost match and two

wins.

>> Speaker C: Yeah, it was. The competition was great. First fight was just

great people, but we're walking. And Pepe says, well, but

you're, uh, out of luck next year. And I said, what? He said, it's summer's

40th birthday. I said, I'm not out of luck,

buddy. You're out of luck. I'll be here.

>> Jonathan: Well, you might have to just take her to Florida.

>> RB: Yeah, well, that's what we might be doing. I might

be. I might be out of the Pine Needles Invitational next year,

too. Oh, uh, maybe. Maybe that's the play.

I don't know.

>> Jonathan: I mean, here we go.

>> Speaker C: Did you hear about the Pine Needles Invitational bash?

>> Jonathan: Did you hear about this?

>> RB: Yep, I did.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah, it was. It was not ideal,

but it got.

>> Speaker C: It fired up a little bit. I was. It worked out in

my favor. He played really well that match, so.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, he wanted redemption. That's right. He had a good,

good partner and. Yeah, didn't want to let him down.

And, uh, and he got warmed up, though,

in Piners. That's what I said.

>> RB: Yeah, that was a warm up.

>> Jonathan: That was the warm up in the.

>> RB: Normal division in the under 50

division.

>> Speaker C: I also think that was a, uh, fun part about it, is

coming in kind of cold with no expectations. Right. I mean, we always

want to win. We always want to play our best. But coming in from the

winter, they were joking. They kept saying, these northerners

come down here and fleeced us. Which I haven't really heard that

term, but.

>> Jonathan: Well, that's true, though.

>> Speaker C: Good side of it.

>> Jonathan: Because I bet you when. When. When was the last time you played

before this.

>> Speaker C: That event with you at Pelican in

January? Yeah, first of January.

>> Jonathan: So you took two months off. Did you touch a club in between

there?

>> Speaker C: A couple times. You know, just hitting into the

simulators at Nemacol with the kids when the kids had lessons,

so that was about it.

>> Jonathan: That's impressive, man. Well, I tell

you what, it couldn't have happened to two better people, man.

>> Speaker C: You know, had to get with you guys. You know, you

guys both have. Have one under your belt muscles. Um,

has a couple under his belt. J.R. you know, had to get off

the. The goose egg, so. Yeah, happy to join the

club.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. You got it done. I love it. I saw the picture. I

was. I was. My phone was. I don't know where it was. And I pulled my

m. And I see you guys standing there with this trophy. I'm like, oh, my

God, they want it all. They Want it

all did.

>> Speaker C: Uh, how about this? You know, we win our flight and

I go to buy cigars. I'm so excited. You know, I smoked

one cigar, um, because it was a long round, because it was a

shotgun on that day. I didn't smoke on the course the days

before. Um, so I go, I'm so excited to go in the locker

room, I buy two cigars. I come out to find Pepe.

I'm like, dude, I got you this cigar. Like, let's smoke it for the shootout.

He's like, no.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> Speaker C: And I'm like, couldn't do it.

>> RB: Couldn't do it. I couldn't, I couldn't do it. I

couldn't stomach it. I didn't want to stomach it. I smoked

enough and I felt like if I smoked that one, I would have

puked.

>> Speaker C: So that. Then I got nervous Bash, because I'm like, wait a

second. Yeah, we gotta, we gotta keep it

status quo, right? Which Pepe. I mean, cigars in Pepe's mouth.

So, uh, that, that made me more nervous than the two footer.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah. Like, what's going on with this guy? I mean, it

was seen yesterday.

>> RB: Our, our, our match

on Saturday was a

blast. We played with his friend tj. I mean, we had

so much fun and we just drank and yucked it up.

But, dude, it was out of the

gate, number 10. We played. TJ's

partner makes this 30 footer. And I said to TJ, I said,

literally, nobody's made like, that kind of putt on us

yet. So no surprise today, right?

BK has a 28 footer. He jars

it, so we have the hole. And I'm

like, all right, that's. That's nice, because that's kind of sets the

tone, right?

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> RB: We win 11 with a par 12. We tie

13. TJ's partner stuffs it to

like a foot and a half, and I hit it to

like 12ft.

>> Speaker C: It was a gimmick, tight.

>> RB: And so we give him his,

and I make that. So we have

it go to 14. Uh,

I hit it to, uh,

Brandon hit a bunker shot to What? Brandon, like

10ft, something?

>> Speaker C: Yeah, probably.

>> RB: And then I hit a little. I had a wedge shot out of the

fairway. I hit it to a foot. They gave it to me.

Well, then he hits it and he hits it

to a foot and we give it to him. So it was a really good

match. Um, and then Brandon ended up having

a sick two putt on

16. Uh, he was on the back left part of the

green pin. Was way front, right up on

top of the hill. It was really good.

Um, and we have 17, and we lost

18, four to three and a half. And we have

to match four and a half. Uh, four and a half. Won the flight by half a point. I don't know

if you knew that, Bash. Half a point.

>> Jonathan: Half a point.

>> Speaker C: Sc. It was crazy. It

was crazy, but a lot of fun.

>> Jonathan: Well, man, congrats on the win, bk.

And I. I look forward to playing

golf with you again, man. I just want to. I just want to kind of like, you know,

feel that. Feel that energy.

>> Speaker C: Well, I appreciate it. It feels good to be back on the pod, but

it's been, uh, it's been, what, three years?

>> RB: Three years.

>> Jonathan: Yeah. You know, and I said that today. I was

like, I want to try this. I want to bring my man on

and, and. And get him telling this perspective,

you know, and. And seeing you.

>> Speaker C: Yeah, we appreciate it.

>> RB: BK was buzzing, bud. It felt good. I mean, the guy was

back, um,

wasn't on his phone. I. I did

yell at him in the. In the shootout.

I mean, my man did.

>> Speaker C: I wanted to capture the moment bash.

>> RB: You know, he's taking videos and he's, you

know, texting, and I'm

like, will you get off your phone, dude? Like, yeah, we are

literally in the shootout right now. And he's like, what?

Just leave me alone. I wasn't even hitting.

>> Speaker C: I wasn't even.

>> RB: If this is how he had settled in, let him go.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, just let him be.

>> RB: And, uh, it was a blast,

dude. I mean, we. We.

I don't think we yelled at each other.

Not once. It was actually fun,

bk.

>> Speaker C: Yeah, we had a great time. Seriously. It was it from top to

bottom. I mean, the.

>> RB: The event was.

>> Speaker C: Was so good. They took great care of us. The

food, amazing organization. I mean, everything was on time.

Every tea time was just

so. It just made things so much fun.

>> RB: And, yeah, Justin and his team were absolutely out of this

world. I mean, from the. From the gifts check in

to, I mean, to the food, to.

To the timing of everything, to the caddies,

to the drinks set up, everything. And

Was incredible. And the best part about it, dude, is they make you feel

like you're a member, too, which is a cool feeling. As a

guest, I go a lot of places a guest.

And, um, that was one of the best experiences

I've had. So it's really cool.

>> RB: Bay Hill, huh?

>> Jonathan: Uh-huh.

>> RB: So that was pretty interesting, dude. I mean, you know, that's

a, that's a big sponsor

invite, uh, event, so that was interesting to see.

Um, I wonder if this win for BK

and I gets us a little sponsored invites to certain places,

but whatever. Um, this week I

am actually gonna go with Wyndham, uh,

Clerk. You like

Windham after last year? I think

it was last year when he, he lifted out on 18

to, to advance to a playoff.

I just like his game, dude. And I think I like him as a

person. I'm pulling for him. So. Wyndham Clark it

is.

>> Jonathan: I like that. I like that pick.

Um, I think I'm gonna

roll with. I think Oberg is gonna be in a

mix. I just think he's.

Yeah, I think he's going to be in the mix. And then some of these

other, like Michael Kim, you know, he played good past

weekend. Corey Connors played well.

Um, someone like that could really kind of chase it up too. But

I think I'm going to go with Oberg. I think this is going to be his year. He

got so close last year to winning some of these big

events. Um,

you know, the Masters specifically in the battle with, with

Scheffler. So I just think, uh, that's my

pick for this week.

>> RB: I love it, dude. That's a great pick.

And um, and he'll win.

>> Jonathan: And I'll text Scovy and I'll say, scov.

And you know, and that'll be that.

>> RB: He's playing hot. Is he gonna make the team? Dude,

cup team, is the question? What do you think?

>> Jonathan: I mean, the way he's been

playing or the way. I guess it just remains to be seen

how he, how he kind of navigates,

um, through this, this season. But, I mean,

that'll be here before you know it. Um,

but he had a hell of a round on Sunday. I think he shot

64. Had, uh, a chance to shoot

63 climbing up that leaderboard. Yeah, dude,

Bradley's a, he's a student.

>> RB: Yeah.

>> Jonathan: Um, and I think that, I think he brings an energy to

it.

>> RB: Well, he's passionate. He loves America. Not to say

don't, but he's passionate about America. He loves it, dude.

He gets really into it, and he's kind of been doubted his

whole career, which is, I think, gives him that little bit

of one. Um, you know,

a lot of those guys haven't been doubted their whole career. They're just kind

of expected to do well, uh, type thing.

So, um, question for you

is, um, I doubt you're, you're keeping track

of it, but I know that you got a skin

at the Pine Needles Invitational. What was it?

How much was it?

>> Jonathan: Uh, I think it was 320. And

it was on number four,

uh, pine needles, which is, you know, kind of

one. Well, yeah, but it's kind of surprising because I hit,

like, wedge in there, so.

>> RB: Yeah, but a lot of people hit that false front or air mail

it. So, um, that's a great, that's a great skinny there.

But so my question to you is, I know that this was

talked about in the first episode of the year, and

we're, you know, we're going to keep track of our birdies for the year.

So have you been doing that?

>> Jonathan: I, I, I thought about this after Pine

Needles, and, um, I think

that I have to go through to

really give you an answer of where I'm at for the birdie count for the

year, uh, which I can do, um, because I

know that in the practice round, I

had, I believe, off the top of my head,

four birdies, um,

in that round. Now, first day in the

Invitational, I made one

birdie number two,

and outside of that third day, mid

pines, I didn't make any

birdies. And day four

at Southern

Pines, I made

one birdie, which doesn't really count because it was auctioned

shot. So I think the fair.

>> RB: We need birdies of what you've done.

>> Jonathan: So four. So ten. I'm. I'm at ten because I was at

six.

>> RB: Okay, so I, I do have a few more rounds on

you.

>> Jonathan: That's okay.

>> RB: Um, but you're gonna have a few more on. You know, we might

be matched up after. You remember guest this week at

Chichesi. Um, I'm at 19

for the year, so I have 19 birdies for the year.

>> Jonathan: Okay, so you're, you're tracking this. I like

it.

>> RB: Um, well, I just keep in my phone and after

the round, I just add.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I think I'm.

>> RB: If, if I, you know, if

I.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I think it's a good exercise. Everybody should do it.

>> RB: I think I have zero eagles. Don't know if

you have any eagles.

>> Jonathan: No, I don't have any eagles, so

I don't have a look.

>> RB: But with that being said, guys, I mean, this weekend

is going to be beautiful. And I think that I might

be dabbling on Saturday with my son

Parker. Nine holes at the

wonderful Nemicolon Resort. Um,

kicked off at this point, which a lot of big moves. I mean, the

Steelers doing this big deal with DK Metcalf that came out

of left field, but not really well, and I'm here for

it.

>> RB: Uh, well, that's great, dude. It's a great

signing. Don't have a freaking quarterback to throw him the ball.

So fantastic, uh, signing. Um, but

who is getting him the ball? We don't know

that.

>> Jonathan: Well, right now we don't know that, like this second. But.

But we might, by the time this.

>> RB: Episode drops, a big signing. But here's my

point. That's a huge signing. Don't get me

wrong. Would be even better if he had somebody

to throw him the ball.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> RB: As of right now, you don't

have Justin Fields, you don't have Russell Wilson,

and you don't have anybody else. So Is he

throwing the ball to himself? I don't know. Love, um,

the signing. I mean you're looking at. Look at those receivers

they have, man. If Pickens can get his head out

of his butt and pay attention and focus

and um, you know, be a normal human being

on the, on the field and not go nuts on people, I think

that this could be a stout receiver

group that they have with this Metcalf

edition. But again, none of this matters if you

don't have a quarterback that can get them the ball.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

>> RB: So, um, you know, I, I

hope they, they sign somebody good at that QB

position of like under 30 would

be fantastic.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, no, it's what it's here, it's.

>> RB: Josh Allen, uh, 350 million dollar

contract, highest paid quarterback of all time.

>> Jonathan: Well deserved.

>> RB: I think 275 is guaranteed. Or

I mean 265. It's. It's something like that is

guaranteed. Which

someone. Yeah, yeah.

>> Jonathan: I mean Miles Garrett with that contract. That's so

stupid. That is like 40 a

year. I mean Cleveland just loves burning

money. Look at their last couple big moves. Desean

Watson, what a bust that was.

>> RB: Mhm.

>> Jonathan: Terrible.

>> RB: Mhm.

>> Jonathan: But who am I to judge?

>> RB: With that being said, dude, I want you

and your dad to have the best time, um,

at your chessy play.
