Speaker:

(upbeat music)

Speaker:

- [Travis] In all fairness,

Speaker:

you know that people in cigar shops

Speaker:

and if, if you're just getting into cigars,

Speaker:

if you're new to cigars, don't be intimidated.

Speaker:

Walk into a shop, ask questions,

Speaker:

but learn some of the stuff

Speaker:

that we were trying to teach through this episode

Speaker:

is really, what's the experience?

Speaker:

How can you develop and build that?

Speaker:

Well, part of that is the characters

Speaker:

you get to hang out with.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- [Travis] I can go into any shop.

Speaker:

I don't know anybody.

Speaker:

You sit down long enough,

Speaker:

you just ask these guys and be open.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Mm-hm.

Speaker:

- They're not gonna make you feel bad for being

Speaker:

a new- a novice smoker. - [Nate] Not at all.

Speaker:

They're actually gonna encourage you

Speaker:

because it's a hobby.

Speaker:

We all love people who are enjoying things that we do.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- So you talked about that umpire,

Speaker:

you had that direct tie because it's something

Speaker:

you both love. - [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- [Rob] Yeah. - It's that hobby you both

Speaker:

like. - [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- So it, it's a small little family

Speaker:

that we, we've created

Speaker:

even though we don't know.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- [Travis] I mean we were with 25 people last night

Speaker:

talking about cigars.

Speaker:

Didn't know any of them,

Speaker:

but I feel I can call any of them tonight

Speaker:

and say, "Hey you wanna go out and have a cigar?"

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

You know, and hang out.

Speaker:

- Right. - Yeah.

Speaker:

- And it's, - But we'd all hang

Speaker:

out together.

Speaker:

- [Nate] It's so much fun

Speaker:

If you're a, if we can use the word, you know

Speaker:

seasoned cigar smoker or longtime cigar smoker,

Speaker:

when you, I find it absolutely entertaining and engaging

Speaker:

and it makes me kind of come alive

Speaker:

when you get that new smoker

Speaker:

because they're asking all these great questions

Speaker:

that you don't think about much anymore.

Speaker:

And you go, "All right,

Speaker:

well why do I still think that that's the case?"

Speaker:

- [Rob] Right.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Or you can kind of talk about it and go, "Oh,

Speaker:

maybe I think a little differently now."

Speaker:

Or, you know, how are you experiencing this?

Speaker:

So it brings to, uh, to your experience now,

Speaker:

a completely different field of view.

Speaker:

- [Rob] Right. - [Nate] I love that.

Speaker:

- [Rob] I stopped asking questions specifically of like

Speaker:

what you're tasting because you know,

Speaker:

I don't, I have no idea.

Speaker:

Like, I asked one guy who, at the smoke shop who was like,

Speaker:

"I just love this cigar."

Speaker:

I'm like, "Well what do you like about it?"

Speaker:

He's like, I don't know, I just like it.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Mm-hm.

Speaker:

- [Rob] And now I just thought, I'm like,

Speaker:

last night I had some people over

Speaker:

and they wanted to smoke cigars.

Speaker:

They're not big time cigar smokers.

Speaker:

I'm like, would you smoke it again?

Speaker:

He's like, "Well, I just don't know.

Speaker:

I'm not a cigar smoker."

Speaker:

"Do you like the flavor that's coming of it?"

Speaker:

"Well I guess, yeah, it's pretty good."

Speaker:

"Would you go buy it again?"

Speaker:

"I don't know."

Speaker:

Like it was really hard for him to like-

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- [Rob] to really figure it out.

Speaker:

And I'm like, that's interesting as a new cigar smoker.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Sure. - [Rob] Like what cigar is it

Speaker:

that's gonna make you go, "Oh yeah, I want this again."

Speaker:

That's just what I want to give you.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Right.

Speaker:

- [Rob] I don't want to give you

Speaker:

a cigar that I'm like, "This has this flavor."

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah.- "And you should like it."

Speaker:

- [Nate] Mm-hm. - [Rob] No,

Speaker:

I just want you to try it

Speaker:

and if you go, "Yeah, I really like it."

Speaker:

Great. - [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- Go buy that cigar.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah. - [Rob] Go buy more of it.

Speaker:

Go enjoy more cigars that are like that.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yep.

Speaker:

- [Rob] That's all I care about.

Speaker:

- [Travis] And he may have not smoked enough to really say,

Speaker:

"Is this one I like?"

Speaker:

Because he hasn't compared, - [Rob] No, he hasn't.

Speaker:

- [Travis] spectrums.

Speaker:

Right? - It's, it's, it's

Speaker:

- [Rob] So it's like, you know, literally like tasting

Speaker:

maybe one or two. - [Nate] Yeah.

Speaker:

- [Travis] You drive the first car that you've ever driven,

Speaker:

it's the only one you know.

Speaker:

How do you know if it's the one you like?

Speaker:

Because you haven't got to drive,

Speaker:

- [Rob] Right. - some of the others.

Speaker:

- [Nate] Yeah. - And that might be
