baby and you are shoving this horse's nipple in her mouth and I'm like sitting there milking it into her mouth and she

is still like turning her head like but she's suckling like she's trying her instincts are telling her to do it yeah

don't like we were careful not to let her go underneath mom or like anything like that cuz she is attached in her

neck to a bag but she stayed calmer the more we let her just kind of like

measuring of the antibodies that the baby got in that first 12 hours so that's what they would get from the

colostrum now there's multiple reasons why a May wouldn't have the colostrum or like the good colostrum that they would

need sometimes they drip beforehand and they drip it all out you know in the days is leading up or they like you know

they wax for a really long time and other times the the mayor just might not have good colostrum like for whatever

reason she might not have just been producing good colostrum and you know we

did have to help Ruby eat a little bit and I remember like I was kind of like shooting her in the face with it and trying to get her to smell it I don't

think we did enough that would have depleted her claustrum in any sense um

so I think Ethel's case was probably more that she probably didn't have the good stuff which is why we always check

that baby did not ask at all like she was low on her score

like I I've never had any issues with a mayor rejecting due to smell not to say

that it's impossible but I do think you probably run a bigger risk of things like that with a mayor that like isn't

everything drain out out of his nose and mouth and he was still attached Beyonce Hatton stood up and so we had to detach

the cord to be able to pick him up he ended up needing hernia surgery from his umbilicus like a umbilical hernia and

we've had a couple that needed umbilical hernia surgeries before or like at least some sort of help with that like there's

there's some other things you can do as well with that are prior to surgery um and so in my opinion you're just running

a lower risk of of me messing something up if you let them do it themselves you
