Good morning, everyone, and welcome to The Birth Experience. Today's guest is Jessie [00:01:00] Lavey Count, and she is a Pregnancy Manifestation Coach. Is that right?
Jessi: Yes.
Trish: Okay, awesome. I am so excited to chat with Jesse because I am absolutely obsessed with mindset, which you guys know that by listening to me and inside my courses, inside my community, that's a huge part of what we work on with our students.
So I am really jazzed up, Jesse. So will you tell everyone just about yourself and how you ended up doing what you're doing?
Jessi: Yeah, absolutely. Thank you so much for having me on here, by the way. So, my name is Jessi Laveycount. You did a great job on the last name.
Trish: I didn't even have to
Jessi: look. Did you see that?
Good job. So yes, I started pregnancy manifestation coaching in 2020. And I'm the crazy lady on the internet that says that you can manifest your baby against all odds. And That came from [00:02:00] my own experience where we tried for our first, for about, it was almost a year and a half by the time we finally got pregnant.
And it was just, it was a really Deep dark time for me. It was very much a rock bottom kind of experience. And I think that a lot of women find that when they struggle with trying to get pregnant, that it's a, it's, it totally shatters your identity and totally just kind of, it grates on everything that you thought you were, you know, as a wife, as a, um, As a daughter, you know, like, you feel like you're letting everybody down.
You feel like you're letting yourself down. It's the one thing you're supposed to be able to do easily. It's the one thing your body was built for. Your body was made for this. Yeah, it should be easy. And so, and that's what everybody tells you, is that like, you know, as you're growing up, they're like, if you have, Sex and you get pregnant like that.
You're gonna get be
Trish: careful. Don't get pregnant. Don't get pregnant. Be careful Be careful, and now you want to be
Jessi: [00:03:00] and so that's what we're walking into this with like the expectation is is that? So you feel broken, you know and that's definitely how I felt and I hit I hit a really hard rock bottom moment and I tell the story of falling falling asleep drunk in my bathtub and I when we were about 13 ish cycles in and we had set up a consultation for IVF because we had male factor infertility is what we had.
We had a couple of other issues, but because of my husband's situation, we couldn't take traditional measures to rectify his MFI. And so it was, it was a hopeless looking situation. And so we had the consultation set up for IVF and I decided that before we went ahead and did that, I really needed to get my head screwed on straight.
I really needed to, especially after that drunk night in the bathtub, like, oh, it was so extra. Like I, [00:04:00] I fell asleep in there and And where was your
Trish: husband?
Jessi: He was knocking on the door. He was trying to get in. I had locked the door. And so it was just this really sad moment of like, and so I woke up and I heard him snoring in the bedroom attached and So he stayed in there all night.
And, I went to the mirror that morning and I said, even if I got pregnant right now, right this second, I would not be in a space mentally, emotionally, uh, to be able to be the mom that I want to be. And this needs fixed because, I, I need fixed. And one of the realizations that I had was I'm waiting for my baby to show up and fix my broken heart and that's my job.
I'm the mama. It's my job to fix me. And so That is a huge
Trish: parenting moment right there.
Jessi: It was really big. It was a really big moment. And so I decided I'm not living another day like this, like everything about my life is falling apart. [00:05:00] My friendships, my marriage, like everything was falling apart. And I said no more.
And so I got a couple of just generic mindset books to follow. And I came across, uh, You Are a Badass by Jensen Cheryl. And that one was like, I listen, we were on our way to a wedding and Ontario was a 16 hour drive and I listened to it five times in a row. Okay. I'm downloading it.
Trish: I've heard of it, but I haven't listened.
Jessi: Yes. It was so good. It was so simple. And it was like, why couldn't I apply this to manifesting a baby? Why? And this was my first introduction into manifestation at all. I had never heard of it, never played around with any of the ideas. And it totally changed the trajectory of my entire life. And so I put together, like, my five step mama identity framework.
I followed it to a tee, and within six weeks, I held a positive pregnancy test in my hands, trying at home. And baby number two only took one try. [00:06:00]
Trish: Nice.
Jessi: And so I launched this because I had to spread the great news.
Trish: So what about the moms who work on their mindset and don't get pregnant yet? Does it still help them?
Jessi: Yeah, absolutely. So that's the thing with my mama identity framework is that a lot of the times we look at Mindset as something that we have to do like working on our mindset is a set of action steps And that's no different than what you've already been trying to do to get pregnant You've already been doing all the things.
You've been taking all the supplements. You've been, you know, trying all the different positions, all the different lubes, all the different fertility doctors. Do you know what I mean? And so you're already doing things and really manifestation, the way that I teach it is at its heart identity work. You don't manifest what you want.
You don't manifest what your thoughts are. Even you manifest You don't manifest what you do you manifest who you are.
Trish: I love that That's I mean, that's what I do with my coaching clients [00:07:00] and and my and my pregnant My mama's for their birth same exact thing.
Jessi: I love that.
Trish: Yeah, you visualize the birth you want, but then I say, okay What are the steps we take to get there?
Like you still those steps are still important. Like you said, they're already doing the steps
Jessi: Yeah, and for me, it's 80 percent energetics 20 percent inspired action You
Trish: Yeah. I mean, that's the same with birth.
Jessi: Yep. Absolutely.
Trish: I tell them all the time, like, labor, like, if you want to have an unmedicated birth, you better work on your mindset, girl, because it's 90 percent of your birth is your mindset.
Yes. And what you tell yourself really does matter in all areas of life. It really does. I say this all the time. What we tell her, like, the most powerful voice ever in your entire life is what's happening inside.
Jessi: I agree. I agree.
Trish: And it's it can make or break you. It can change everything. And it really is about just changing that voice and then [00:08:00] choosing to see the good to see the positive things.
I think also really changes everything.
Jessi: Absolutely. Yeah. So what I teach to is that what you focus on expands and. what you pay attention to, you get more of in your experience. And so we really focus in on, like, our focus is on, yes, manifesting the baby, but also living a really kick ass life the whole way there, because that's what you deserve.
Trish: Well, and that's setting them up for success as a mother too, because one of our biggest struggles as a mom is everything becomes about our children. And that is not healthy for them because they don't have a mom who they can see is living a life. Alive.
Jessi: Exactly. And that's, that's the huge cornerstone to this too, is I always say like in, even in my content, I say like, we are not manifesting getting pregnant.
We are manifesting [00:09:00] your motherhood experience from this moment here until they lay you in the ground. Who do you want you just brought
Trish: it to a deep place,
Jessi: right? Yeah Yeah, if you think about it if you zoom out and you really think about it That is the impact of this work when you are 75 years old seated around a dinner table Surrounded by your children and all of your grandchildren.
What do you want them to remember about you and who you are? What are the memories you want them talking about at that dinner table?
Trish: Well, and I would imagine that your work is also breaking some cycles. Absolutely.
Jessi: Yeah. Yeah.
Trish: Cause we do, we have a mindset coach who works with our mamas inside of our membership and they call themselves cycle breakers and she's helping them break the cycles because we all have those mother wounds who we don't want our, I don't want my children to look back and see where I wasn't there.
Where I wasn't there for them in the ways they needed. [00:10:00]
Jessi: Yes, absolutely. I love that. And, you know, too, about motherhood is that they're learning, and you know this as a mom, they're learning not just from what you say, but how you live. You know, like, what your values are, what, You know, what is important to you, they are, they're watching all the time and they're learning by watching and so that's why this identity work is such a huge piece too, is that like, you can say one thing and you can be another, you know, and,
Trish: and boy, would they call you out on that?
Jessi: Exactly. Yeah. They have
Trish: no qualms in
Jessi: that. Yep. They will call you out on it, and they will grow up with that being their inner voice.
Trish: Yeah, that's scary, right? We have a lot of power.
Jessi: We do. But it also gets to be a lot of fun, too.
Trish: Yeah.
Jessi: You know? And so it gets to be fun for us, it gets to be fun for them. And it's not that we never encounter challenges or obstacles, but we're doing it together as a family.
Mm hmm. You know? And that, you can take that [00:11:00] mentality, and you can zoom that all the way back to before that baby is even conceived. Mm hmm. And when you zoom out like that, that's when you're cooking with gas from a manifestation perspective. That's when you're in the, it's already done energy. Motherhood is inevitable for me.
And you are breaking those generational cycles of like, Hey, what if I'm going to be a bad mom? What if I'm not going to be enough? You know what I mean? Like we can kind of hit those blocks before baby is even conceived. We can kind of design who you are so that you can walk forward with a confidence.
That maybe you didn't have access to before and so it really is, it's powerful work and it is the entirety of the experience, the motherhood experience. We zoom out, we go big, for sure.
Trish: I love that so much. So I would love to hear like a story, like a client that, that's really touched your soul. Like, what?
You know, I would love to hear, like, a story. Oh,
Jessi: okay.
Trish: Hmm.
Jessi: I have so many. We're at almost 400 babies. We're [00:12:00] at 389 babies that have been made inside the Manifesting Motherhood. And all the stories make me cry. All of them. They make my husband cry, too. I go share this, like, the second somebody shares that positive test with me, I'm like, Oh my god, and he's crying, and I'm crying.
But, one of the coolest stories, I love the story. I love all the stories, but the against all odds stories are really special to me. So I had a client who, was experiencing multiple losses. She had done six IUIs. She'd been trying for five years, six IUIs, multiple failed transfers, and around four losses, including a late term loss.
So not all of them were early. Not that there's like a,
Trish: one's
Jessi: better or worse, but you know what I mean? And so, she had a late term loss as well. And so, when she came to me, there was, there was so much. [00:13:00] guilt there. There was so much, just like underlying shame, underlying like a lot of identity work that we had to do, a lot of healing, a lot of backpedaling, a lot of forgiveness, a lot of letting things go.
And she just, she took off with it. Like absolutely took off with it and it's not that these things have to take a lot of time speed getting you pregnant as fast As possible is never my goal It's creating a life you love and then baby comes in and adds to that Yeah, you know and so but sometimes it does happen really fast So this was a six week program that she was in and she was pregnant by week five Like, she, she took off with this stuff.
Successful pregnancy. Yes, yep, and she's due next week. Oh, that gives me chills. Oh my gosh. Well, you know what birth
Trish: course she needs to take.
Jessi: I know! We have to get you inside my membership because they're going to love it. Yeah. Absolutely love you. [00:14:00] But yeah, that one was really, really special. She, and she wrote me a message and she said, I'm a lawyer.
I am very logical. And inside this course, I had to relearn how to think in a manner that defies logic. And I'm so glad that I did.
Trish: I bet it was so hard for her, I was just thinking as a lawyer, to go through this process of being so out of control. And then to find something that she could control.
Jessi: It really was.
Trish: That's powerful. Oh, how exciting.
Jessi: It was awesome.
Trish: Oh, I love that so much. Thank you so much for sharing her story. So let me ask you, like, how has your life changed since you started mentoring these women?
Jessi: There's been a lot of changes. I'm currently right now organizing, this is kind of a secret project, but I'll share it with you.
Oh yeah, now it's
Trish: not going to be secret. We know that,
Jessi: that's okay. I'm currently [00:15:00] organizing my first baby tour. Where I'm going to, like, meet the mamas and meet the babies. Oh, nice. Some of them that have been manifested. Oh, I need to
Trish: do that for Labor Nurse Mama.
Jessi: Oh, it's, I'm so excited. It's something I wanted to do since the moment I decided to launch this whole mentorship business.
Trish: Yeah.
Jessi: But, yeah, it's, I'm really excited to do that. I've gotten to meet people from all over the world. And, I've learned so much about, you know, what pregnancy and birth is like in other areas of the world and how different it can be. Yeah,
Trish: me too. I was thinking that when I said that I should do that because I have students in like seven different countries.
Jessi: That'd be so fun. It would be fun.
Trish: I was actually in Spain last year on our family vacation and one of my students gave birth in Spain. But I was like, you don't really invite yourself to someone's birth. Right.
Jessi: I've had many of them tell me, like, I wish you could come be with me while I do this.
Trish: I hear that all the time.
Can't you be [00:16:00] my labor nurse? I know. Yeah. Oh my gosh.
Jessi: That's so fun. So you're going on a baby tour. You're qualified for that.
Trish: When is this starting?
Jessi: The baby tour?
Trish: Yeah.
Jessi: Okay. This is happening next year. So. Okay. Next summer. I love it. I'm really excited for that. And we're moving towards hosting in person events, in person retreats, in person like conference style events as well.
So the first retreat is being planned for late May, early June of next year. Oh, I love it. Hopefully. Well, if you need a birth
Trish: speaker. Yes.
Jessi: Absolutely.
Trish: I love that. Oh, I love it so much. And you guys, as you guys are listening, if you're like, manifestation, that's weird. It's woo woo. I am going to tell you that no matter what your belief is, whether you're because a lot of Christians like look at it as woo woo.
And truth be told, because I grew up in a very fundamentalist Christian school. I am, you know, a [00:17:00] believer. Manifestation is exactly what Jesus teaches in the New Testament. It's literally exactly what he teaches. He says that, that you faith, your faith can move a mountain and he's saying it not in a parable form, like seriously can move a mountain.
So he is saying to us that we can actually move a mountain. By thinking it, which is clearly what manifestation is and mindset that faith, the size of a mustard seed, like that we can receive more than we ever hoped or dreamed for. So if you're listening and you're like, this is woo woo. This is against my belief.
I am telling you this is what God teaches.
Jessi: Yes, he
Trish: created this brain and our brains are so powerful and I even like on my coaching account today Shared to my stories like whose life am I leading like I manifested this life Like [00:18:00] my goal was to impact the birth culture and I have impacted tens of thousands of births at this point
Jessi: That's amazing
Trish: I never saw that coming, like how good is that?
Like that is like, I feel so blessed and honored because my goal was that women would feel empowered during their birth, not have their power stolen and it's happening and the birth culture is changing, you know, so I love what you're doing because the real, the real beauty of this is that they're becoming okay with themselves.
And that's what we need as moms. It's really hard to be a good mom if you are not at peace with yourself. If you don't like yourself. Yeah. And how do we teach our daughters to love and adore themselves and honor themselves and then [00:19:00] pick a man who honors them or a partner who honors them if we're not teaching them like I matter, I am important, honor me.
I love this whole thing. Like, this is very, very powerful for you new moms. I know you guys are sitting there with the raw nipple and a sore booty and you're tired and you're not thinking the long run, but trust me, it's important. Absolutely. Well, I'd love to hear if you have any, like, you know, big a ha parting words for everyone and then I'd love for you to tell everyone where they can find you.
Jessi: Absolutely. So, in terms of a ha parting words,
Trish: not to put any pressure on you or anything, but you know, I know you got it
Jessi: in you. I think, I think we covered a lot of that though. It's that, like, when you As you're going, whether you're moving to or through motherhood, wherever you [00:20:00] are, on this wild journey, it is, you're never as stuck as you think you are, and within you, you know, you talked about faith the size of a mustard seed, you know, within you, what you believe to be true about the world and the way that it works for you, it paints your reality.
And so I would like to challenge all of you as you are moving to and through motherhood to not believe every thought that passes across your brain scape. Really check it out. Discover what you what's the underlying belief to those things. Once you start really working with that, you can shift up a lot in your life.
You can shift up a ton. It is. It is a massively transformational act of self love to really dive into who you're being and then shift that up accordingly to match the experience that you want to be having. And it, it does, [00:21:00] like, it moves mountains. It really does. And when you said, I never saw that coming, like, understand too, that whether you're moving to or through motherhood, that miracles are always unpredictable.
Yeah. always. We can't see them coming, or they're not miracles. They're just logical things that happen. And so, stay open to that. Stay open to those miracles. Stay open to joy. Follow your joy. Follow the things that feel like excitement. Follow your intuition in that way. It won't steer you wrong. You were put on this earth to be an incredible mom who, what you're doing as a mom really sends out ripples throughout generations to come.
It really does. You're setting the tone for what the world looks like and what you are doing is important. What you are doing is, what I would argue, the most important job on the planet.
Trish: Oh 100%.
Jessi: You are crafting the future. You are [00:22:00] every single day. Even though what you do feels like it's mundane sometimes, or it feels like everything is the same as the day before.
That's often how it feels in early motherhood, especially, you know, that work is so important. It's sending out. just ripples of just so much love and expansion and possibility as your children grow up and they have children and then they have children. What you're doing is really, really important.
Trish: I love that so much.
And imagine just creating this legacy of women. Who are powerful and strong and believe in themselves and that affects both Males and females in your house because I mean most of the people we know that have big issues have a mother issue of some sort
Jessi: Absolutely,
Trish: we hold a lot of power. So I love that so much.
So tell everyone where they can find you.
Jessi: Yes, absolutely So on tick tock you can find me at manifesting motherhood on Instagram, that was taken. [00:23:00] So I had to do at Manifesting Motherhood Coaching. If you are interested in talking to me about opportunities to work with me, you can visit my website at ohiemama.
com.
Trish: Okay, and we'll have some links in the show notes as well. And let her know that Labor Nurse Mama sent you her way. And for those of you guys who are in the struggle, you know, a lot of people are like, Oh, Trish, you have seven kids like you can't. Relate, but I had three losses in the middle there. One of my children is adopted.
I don't know if you know that Yeah, so I as you were even talking I was thinking for moms who may end up adopting You still need to work on all these things because It's such a precious gift to adopt and you have such a Journey ahead of you and working on yourself and being healthy Minded will change everything.
Anyway, thank you guys for listening [00:24:00] today. And thank you jesse for coming on today
