Hey team, things are going to look a little different coming
Speaker:up, but this is a good thing.
Speaker:Sometimes change is hard and it's something that we have been working on
Speaker:in the background for a little while now.
Speaker:Honestly, change is good.
Speaker:It's a whole reason Hamish and I started the podcast and we've filled the building.
Speaker:Industry needs it.
Speaker:Oh, and by the way, I'm Matt Amy's co-host who loves to poke the bear.
Speaker:But what's cool is we are now recording from the pro climber Australia Studios,
Speaker:who are our major sponsor of our podcast.
Speaker:It's like the perfect combination.
Speaker:They're kind of like Batman and Robin fighting the crime against an
Speaker:outdated, crappy building industry.
Speaker:With a perfect combination of pushing boundaries, sharing our knowledge,
Speaker:and starting real conversation about how we can improve the industry.
Speaker:Of course, I'm Batman and really Hamish is a little bit more like Alfred.
Speaker:Anyway, enjoy today's episode, which is coming directly from the
Speaker:pro climber built to last studio.
Speaker:Hey, ish.
Speaker:We're a bit of a different podcast maybe today.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:We are final day recording at the Pro Climber Studio, our portable
Speaker:studio at Kais, um, office.
Speaker:So
Speaker:Bill Coat.
Speaker:Thank you, Kyle.
Speaker:Shout out to wildness.
Speaker:Cool office here.
Speaker:That, um, I think it's both motivated, motivated us to get one of these
Speaker:things, like they're quite cool.
Speaker:Can
Speaker:get an office just to, just to, just a cheeky 200 square
Speaker:meters in the middle of Fitzroy.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So, um, massive shout out.
Speaker:Kai's been on.
Speaker:One of the few people that's been on twice.
Speaker:Um,
Speaker:he has been on twice, hasn't
Speaker:he?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:But also good friend, so
Speaker:he's a ripper.
Speaker:Um, bit of, not a housekeeping episode, but there's a lot coming up.
Speaker:Um,
Speaker:there's a lot going on too.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So a few things I want to sort of go through off the top of their head.
Speaker:Sustainable House day.
Speaker:Uh, we had Helen on a few weeks ago, uh, talking about that also.
Speaker:While we're on topic, we've got the passive house conference
Speaker:coming up in June that we wanna encourage people to sign up to.
Speaker:I know SBA doing some awesome stuff.
Speaker:I know that we're doing some different things, uh, coming
Speaker:up with, uh, pro climber.
Speaker:We're gonna be in Adelaide coming up and there's gonna be a night event,
Speaker:so we're gonna encourage people to come, but I'm gonna get to all that.
Speaker:Mm-hmm.
Speaker:Um, how are you, how are you being.
Speaker:Uh oh.
Speaker:Honestly, thanks for checking in.
Speaker:Um, been a bit up and down lately.
Speaker:It's a tricky environment to be operating in.
Speaker:This is probably not on script, but, um, had a couple of,
Speaker:Jo, I had a job fall away.
Speaker:Mm.
Speaker:Uh, because the client lost his job due to ai.
Speaker:Wow.
Speaker:Actually, my architect, I share an office with similar thing
Speaker:so.
Speaker:I mean, I don't wanna be the doom and gloom here, but I, I reckon just everyone
Speaker:sort of steal yourself with this kind of stuff when you're, when you're,
Speaker:when you're chatting with clients now,
Speaker:I mean, I don't know if I should say this, but this particular client
Speaker:listens to the podcast and I'm sure he won't mind me talking about this.
Speaker:Um, real disappointed because I actually was really excited about doing
Speaker:the project, but, um, it's a thing.
Speaker:Um, it's obviously unfortunate for, for them that this has happened,
Speaker:but he seems reasonably, uh, buoyant about the whole scenario and, uh,
Speaker:doesn't seem too bothered by it.
Speaker:Uh, and he actually said he's quite excited about, um, just
Speaker:getting stuck in and doing the Reno himself, so that's pretty cool.
Speaker:Um, Aaron's involved in that one, so I, whatever up, whatever
Speaker:they end up coming with is gonna be an awesome, awesome thing.
Speaker:Um,
Speaker:it feels like things are taking a lot longer to get to site.
Speaker:Yeah, and I mean, same.
Speaker:I know a lot of people kind.
Speaker:Oh, maybe not a lot of people do, but I think people are used to paying
Speaker:for pre-construction these days.
Speaker:But what I kind of wanna shine a light on is it doesn't come anywhere
Speaker:near to cover the costs that we are investing in pre-construction.
Speaker:Like I'm talking 30, $40,000 worth of energy goes in to get a project to site.
Speaker:Oh, as much as I'd love to charge that, we don't charge that.
Speaker:And I'd say probably the estimation phase is covered pretty well.
Speaker:The precon, the pre pricing.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Quick build.
Speaker:Parts covered.
Speaker:It's the part that is outside that scope of works.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Which we can't charge for.
Speaker:It's a value management.
Speaker:It's the multiple drafts of, um, contract and changes and then it's the building or
Speaker:cancel or anything we need to be involved.
Speaker:And we just, uh, yeah, it's, and then on, and then it's like, is the project going?
Speaker:You get a bit nervous.
Speaker:I've got two that we exactly the same.
Speaker:It's, I thought we'd be on site.
Speaker:At latest, I always like to my team 2nd of March.
Speaker:Yeah, we're still not on site recording today and they should
Speaker:be, so they, I pretty much getting the contracts okay today.
Speaker:But yeah,
Speaker:it's, um, and, and look on it for me, it's been something that's kind of,
Speaker:I feel a bit beaten up at the moment.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Uh, luckily I'm heading away for the weekend today, so I'm really
Speaker:excited about, um, you know, just recharging with the family and
Speaker:having a bit of a sleep in, but.
Speaker:Uh, you know, this whole podcast was, we started it to talk
Speaker:about our lives as builders.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And I think this is one of the things that I wanna bring up,
Speaker:that it is challenging out there.
Speaker:And if you are also feeling like this, you're not alone.
Speaker:This kind of feels a bit normal at the moment.
Speaker:I think we just need to adapt to this, to this new environment.
Speaker:I think, yeah, I think the next 12 months are probably gonna
Speaker:be the hardest for builders.
Speaker:I reckon.
Speaker:24
Speaker:months reckon.
Speaker:I reckon sit in, I reckon it's gonna be 24 months.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:I think if you survive the next 24 months, good job.
Speaker:Well done.
Speaker:We're gonna see people that you know.
Speaker:That won't be operating.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:You know what?
Speaker:Let, I mean, let's hope that that doesn't happen.
Speaker:But, but just, just strap in, stay resilient.
Speaker:Stay talking, stay fit, stay healthy.
Speaker:Look after yourself.
Speaker:'cause I feel like the next little bit is gonna be challenging
Speaker:and it's not that building prices are going up or it's just, there's so much
Speaker:legislation, insurance changes that it is just gonna be border lining possible
Speaker:to not operate, but your as, as Dave said, we had him on a few weeks ago.
Speaker:Uh.
Speaker:He talked about that you've got a certain amount and you can
Speaker:only do that amount per year.
Speaker:So you might see builders not being able to build as much as they used to.
Speaker:'cause their limits are capped due to their insurance and um, they sit
Speaker:around twiddling their thumbs and staff get laid off 'cause they're waiting.
Speaker:So I think we're gonna see this whole shift We.
Speaker:And I think long term for the good,
Speaker:I think it will be long term for the good, but I also just wanna put
Speaker:some confidence around the things that you are saying now, Matt.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:The good builders.
Speaker:I think we fine.
Speaker:I don't, I don't think this is gonna affect us the good builders.
Speaker:No,
Speaker:no
Speaker:it's not.
Speaker:And, and I'm, and I'm putting us in the good builder category.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:I think it's the, unfortunately, well fortunately it's the builders not
Speaker:running their, their businesses well I think are gonna get caught out.
Speaker:But I think the unfortunate.
Speaker:Side of the new changes are that there's gonna be a lot of young, new builders.
Speaker:They're not gonna be able to get a foothold in the industry.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Which is a challenge.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Which is a shame.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:I think that's, I you a hundred percent agree.
Speaker:Try to start a construction company.
Speaker:That would be borderline impossible.
Speaker:Unless you've got amazing funding behind you.
Speaker:I don't, it's borderline impossible, but I think you gotta have a thick skin.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Um, look.
Speaker:I see why they do it.
Speaker:We've gotta get confidence back into the industry to some point.
Speaker:Um, it's an easy way to do it and people feel more secure if they've got money
Speaker:behind them or the, it's sounds like from a accounting perspective, it sounds good.
Speaker:We all know accountants can quickly.
Speaker:Move and change numbers and make it look pretty.
Speaker:We all know that and understand
Speaker:I'm
Speaker:gonna,
Speaker:I'm not gonna agree or disagree with
Speaker:that business, that that's how it can be done.
Speaker:Um, but the reality is it's gonna, I would say those competitive tender
Speaker:builders who are trying to scrape every dollar and cut their margin, they're
Speaker:gonna get quickly, quickly found out, and that will just not be a thing.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:I think that's gone.
Speaker:Um, because you need to show profit and you need to show ongoing profit or the.
Speaker:BPC, just we will remove your license.
Speaker:So, you know, and builders now like, you know, look at some of the, those
Speaker:platforms out there, like Future Builder, like where they're training you to
Speaker:actually understand your numbers well.
Speaker:Like you need to have a profitable business.
Speaker:And I'm gonna talk to the architects listening.
Speaker:It's not up to you to decide what someone's markup is.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Because the builder should understand where their numbers are and understand
Speaker:what they should be charging.
Speaker:So if they come to you and they're marking up 20%, 25, 30%, they, you know,
Speaker:by all means, ask them how they got to that number, but don't say that it needs
Speaker:to be 10 or 15%.
Speaker:And it's a great thing because look, we can spin this a million different ways.
Speaker:I could run at a 25% mark up margin, whatever we wanna call it.
Speaker:And again, a whole different conversation.
Speaker:But if we say 25%, that's.
Speaker:That's, we might not be hiding costs and might being transparent,
Speaker:or I could run it 10% and hide my cost for the whole build cost.
Speaker:So the margin margin looks pretty.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:But I also have 300 K of overheads hidden within the project.
Speaker:So
Speaker:I guess
Speaker:we're all the same number at the end of the day.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:That's the thing.
Speaker:And I think the num that the, don't focus so much on that and, and, and.
Speaker:I would be asking your builder how they got to the number
Speaker:rather than question the number.
Speaker:Yeah, I think that's the biggest thing.
Speaker:If you can get confidence around that, they're gonna be
Speaker:there at their end of the job.
Speaker:'cause at the end of the day, you want your project built.
Speaker:The homeowners want the project built and the builder wants
Speaker:to go in there and make money.
Speaker:And if we're not showing profit, we literally won't be able to build.
Speaker:So Exactly I I would see potentially there might be a slight increase
Speaker:coming up because builders are gonna have to increase.
Speaker:Potentially a percentage.
Speaker:I don't wanna
Speaker:say that,
Speaker:but No, but like, don't wanna say that, but if they, if they, if they, it,
Speaker:it, it might not be us, but if some builder's been running at a tighter
Speaker:margin to get the project across the line's, they, they've got no choice but
Speaker:to increase their margins because, or they've gotta really cut cost, which
Speaker:they're probably already doing like crazy to get the project across the line.
Speaker:It's the reality of it.
Speaker:So it's not, you're, you're potentially gonna see some changes there.
Speaker:Uh, and that's, that will play itself out.
Speaker:That's going through Parliament right now, Biden now, it could be.
Speaker:Enacted, uh, but in Victoria, definitely, definitely, definitely
Speaker:expect some changes in Yeah.
Speaker:Around that.
Speaker:Uh, I, the other question that I would love to have a conversation
Speaker:with someone about is, uh, insurance as of July becomes consumer first.
Speaker:We have retention.
Speaker:Do we need both?
Speaker:No, we don't need any of it.
Speaker:Yeah, I, I know, but like, it's gonna be interesting to see if architects are still
Speaker:gonna require Oh, or want, want retention.
Speaker:I get, I get what?
Speaker:Because now the insurance is consumer first.
Speaker:I get what you're saying.
Speaker:The retention is a dot on the map compared to
Speaker:Yeah, so you're, you're talking about two different things there.
Speaker:So you're talking about new changes in insurance, which are consumer
Speaker:first, and then you're talking about retention, which in my mind.
Speaker:Is there, and we're talking primarily an abit contract here.
Speaker:Retention is there so the builder doesn't run away for liability for for defects.
Speaker:Now trust me as a builder, we are fucking on the hook for liability.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:More than
Speaker:ever.
Speaker:You don't need that damn retention.
Speaker:So if you wanna wave a retention in front of me personally,
Speaker:I'm not gonna not entertain.
Speaker:I'm sorry.
Speaker:We'll
Speaker:be double like we can't double dip on our margin.
Speaker:And it's like everyone double dipping on retention.
Speaker:That's how I look at it.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Well, someone's gonna increase their price by five, 2.5%.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Well, that's, yeah.
Speaker:Well you have to, that's, that's probably good con quick conversation is if when a
Speaker:builder has retention, our price goes up because we've got a. We're not the bank.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And we've gotta, most likely, unless you've got cash, which no builder
Speaker:has cash, just laying around that you've gotta go take out some
Speaker:form of overdraft and you've gotta offset that percentage against the
Speaker:contract so you're not losing money.
Speaker:And that that becomes a overhead cost that again.
Speaker:We talk about at the start of the margin market.
Speaker:Well it becomes a cogs.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:It becomes quite a cost of goods sold.
Speaker:So, you know, it's a line item in there thing.
Speaker:Now I wanna just qui quickly Yeah.
Speaker:Sort of sidestep away from this for a second.
Speaker:'cause there's a couple of things you wanna talk about.
Speaker:When this podcast has come out, we probably have had Sustainable
Speaker:House Day already passed.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:Uh, you have probably heard Helen on, uh, the podcast.
Speaker:She is a CEO of Renew Magazine.
Speaker:Now, I'm really excited about the idea around Sustainable House Day because if
Speaker:you are a builder and you want to get into this space and you've got a home that you
Speaker:wanna showcase, what better way to get eyeballs on your product than actually
Speaker:getting someone through with the homeowner who is arguably a raving fan for you?
Speaker:Showing people through their own home.
Speaker:It's been beneficial for me in the pro the past doing open days.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Uh, I don't wanna let anyone in
Speaker:on some of our marketing secrets, but yeah, you, you, you're getting yourself in
Speaker:front of everyone at once and you can have set, have some really strong conversations
Speaker:and showcase what you're doing.
Speaker:I just also think, like, I don't know about you, but I really
Speaker:enjoyed the conversation, Helen, and I'm always a people person
Speaker:first and I really warm to her.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So I. Really wanna support that industry.
Speaker:We're already members of the
Speaker:organization.
Speaker:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker:So as my own business, we are members, um, we subscribe to their magazines and
Speaker:their brilliant pieces of information.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Actually that's an interesting point.
Speaker:So for those who don't know, sustainable House Day is buy the organization,
Speaker:renew, renew, have two publications.
Speaker:They've got renew the magazine.
Speaker:And then I've got, um, sanctuary Magazine.
Speaker:In fact, sanctuary, the magazine.
Speaker:Was a big motivation or a big inspiration for Sanctum Homes?
Speaker:The name
Speaker:Ah,
Speaker:so that we, we, we were, we were sort of kicking around.
Speaker:I remember when Lucy and I were driving home from Canberra one day and we're
Speaker:just waxing lyrical about names and I really love the idea of like, habitat
Speaker:and home and sanctuary and like, we're kind of sanctuary, kind of a habitat
Speaker:because, um, a buddy of mine's got a building company called Habitat,
Speaker:and I'm like, what about sanctum?
Speaker:Like inner sanctum?
Speaker:So, uh.
Speaker:Renew, thank you for the inspiration for the business name, and now everyone
Speaker:knows where that's come from, but these guys have got some really great, not
Speaker:only some great products that they, that they sell, so Sustainable House stay.
Speaker:Do I let their cat out the bag and maybe they're gonna have a podcast.
Speaker:Who knows?
Speaker:That might be there.
Speaker:We
Speaker:like Jackie Felgate breaking news.
Speaker:They,
Speaker:they, they might have had it there, but yeah.
Speaker:Look, great organization to support.
Speaker:So if you don't already do that, uh, jump onto their socials, their,
Speaker:um, their website and either join or subscribe to their publication.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And I, as a business, it's a tax write off if you sign up from
Speaker:membership, let's be honest.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Um, I would encourage everyone.
Speaker:That's this thing that has a business to do.
Speaker:So support them.
Speaker:Uh, at the end of the day, they're a non-for-profit and funding is essential.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:So,
Speaker:and do you know what, what a great way to unplug from this.
Speaker:Yeah, I thought you were gonna say from the podcast.
Speaker:No, from the podcast, but unplug from the podcast.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Unless you read the digital version on your phone.
Speaker:Well, yeah, well just fuck off.
Speaker:But I, I like.
Speaker:They're some really good people are doing good things.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Um, look, we're big on passive house.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:It provides a really wide knowledge base on things like solar, on heat
Speaker:pumps and batteries to certain materials, to, uh, commercial projects.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:To residential.
Speaker:Honestly, it's a wide variety of information and I think it's
Speaker:important for what we do to not just be on top of what we do, but learn.
Speaker:Other things, what other industries might be doing.
Speaker:They might be ahead of us at certain times and it's eventually coming to residential.
Speaker:So if you're a nerd, buy the Renew magazine, if you want Pretty pictures.
Speaker:Sanctuary Magazine.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Or just buy both.
Speaker:Or just get both.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So,
Speaker:um, speaking of passive house now, Matthew, do we announce it
Speaker:here?
Speaker:Yeah, I, so this podcast will come out, so I'm already speaking at the passive house
Speaker:conference with our Dr. Evil friend Cam.
Speaker:Um, I don't know anyone that's ever been to a passive house conference.
Speaker:Cam's.
Speaker:Speeches are usually very informative, always informative,
Speaker:very technical, very measured.
Speaker:And he picked me to do it with him this year,
Speaker:which is fucking hilarious.
Speaker:Which
Speaker:is, isn't isn't your client joining
Speaker:too?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So Sarah, my client who's been on this podcast is gonna join too.
Speaker:Um, I don't know what Cam was thinking.
Speaker:The guy that's got an opinion on everything that's unfiltered with
Speaker:the really smart guy on stage.
Speaker:We'll see how that goes.
Speaker:Matthew Matthew's not the smart guy on stage.
Speaker:There's a reason why they didn't let us do the mc.
Speaker:Ah.
Speaker:So, but so you
Speaker:are, so you
Speaker:are talking.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:But we have also, we wanna encourage people to sign up to this conference.
Speaker:Now, passive assets is a. Big part of our business, we're very passionate about it.
Speaker:Um, and again, like Sustainable House, they renew, they are a
Speaker:non-for-profit and they need help.
Speaker:And one of the pieces of income for them is getting to this conference.
Speaker:It's also a double-edged sword.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:It's gonna cost you some money, but you are gonna learn a lot.
Speaker:Not only that, you're gonna network with people.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So you are gonna get that a thousand dollars back to you so fast.
Speaker:If you're a builder Totally.
Speaker:You're most likely going to meet an architect or building designer or interior
Speaker:designer that might feed your project.
Speaker:And I tell you what, like if you just look at it purely from you're paying a thousand
Speaker:dollars to be in a room with some people that you wanna work with, like the rest
Speaker:that comes on top of that is a bonus.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Like you'll quickly wipe a thousand dollars if you need
Speaker:to get the job across the line.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Think of this as a cheap investment.
Speaker:Vice versa.
Speaker:If you're an architect, yeah.
Speaker:You might be building one of these for the first time.
Speaker:You are getting to surround yourself with builders that you might be
Speaker:able to potentially work with.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:In your state.
Speaker:People fly from all over the country to this and.
Speaker:To our audience,
Speaker:we actually have a discount code, 10% discount code.
Speaker:So we're gonna put a
Speaker:link in our, in the, in the comments down below.
Speaker:I think it's five 10.
Speaker:Can't
Speaker:remember.
Speaker:That's 10%.
Speaker:Is it 10?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Well, I'm 10% now 'cause I just said it.
Speaker:So sorry.
Speaker:Stalin.
Speaker:If it's not 10%, it's 10%.
Speaker:Um, but cherry on the top.
Speaker:Matthew and I have managed to strong arm ourselves into having a breakout room.
Speaker:So we have a pretty exciting, uh, agenda that we're gonna be rolling out.
Speaker:And we're basically gonna be talking about.
Speaker:The moment someone calls to the moment we hand over keys.
Speaker:So predominantly build a focus.
Speaker:But um, if you're a homeowner, if you're a designer or an architect, we are gonna
Speaker:talk you through how we see that process.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:From detailing on site to what we do at Handover and the information
Speaker:that we, that we give away, uh, at handover and all the problems that we
Speaker:try and solve during pre-construction.
Speaker:I personally feel it's gold 'cause you are leaning on seven
Speaker:years of experience from me.
Speaker:Seven years of experience from Matt and we'll probably rope
Speaker:in a couple of other experience builders to come and have a chat
Speaker:as well.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And we're gonna have, part of that will be 30 minutes of question answer.
Speaker:Plus we're gonna be there for the rest of the day that you can ask us questions.
Speaker:But if you're a builder, especially like.
Speaker:I can tell you what, you're gonna save yourself more than a thousand
Speaker:dollars in that session by learning something that's might be some costing
Speaker:advice or a hundred percent advice on a contract or something like that.
Speaker:I think that will come to you back
Speaker:10. Your ROI will be
Speaker:more than I, honestly, we can't tell you how much we'll save you from that.
Speaker:Um, we, we we're gonna be very open.
Speaker:Uh, if you guys have listened to us before, I definitely
Speaker:have no filter, but we we're.
Speaker:We are gonna tell it how it is.
Speaker:We're not gonna make it unicorns and rainbows.
Speaker:We are gonna tell you there's a reason why we've done what, maybe eight to 10
Speaker:passive houses between the two of us.
Speaker:Mm-hmm.
Speaker:And there's a reason why and we've made the mistakes.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:It's, it, it, I, I always, I think of it like when we both bought the pro crimer
Speaker:wrap for the first time and started using it, we learn by mistakes and
Speaker:then now there's so much information.
Speaker:This is no difference.
Speaker:Yeah, totally.
Speaker:Like we will literally be feeding and not just the builders, like the architects,
Speaker:engineers, uh, energy consultants.
Speaker:You might learn something about the way we operate.
Speaker:Um, it might help you guys with your job.
Speaker:It might help you understand it from our perspective, an element
Speaker:on the contract or why we wanna do certain things a certain way on site.
Speaker:Uh, we we're probably, there's probably not much we're not willing to talk about.
Speaker:Um, but we really wanna encourage people to do that.
Speaker:It's two days, 25th, 26th of June.
Speaker:Uh, I won't be there first day.
Speaker:It's actually my daughter's first birthday, so thanks for organizing
Speaker:that on her birthday, guys.
Speaker:Mm-hmm.
Speaker:Um, but we the, as well, the night event.
Speaker:Awesome.
Speaker:Event to network.
Speaker:Again.
Speaker:You're gonna meet people.
Speaker:Uh, it, I honestly can't under, under,
Speaker:you know what, like, I feel like, just to cut you off there, Matt.
Speaker:My take on the passive house conference is just the energy that's around there.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Because you have three or 400 passionate people.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And that energy, you can feel it in the breakout, in, in the breaks.
Speaker:You can feel it at the um, at the, the mixer events and the social events.
Speaker:Oh, and we also forgot to talk about that.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:Air Boss Dan is gonna be doing day before the training day, the day before.
Speaker:Uh,
Speaker:are we helping, I don't know,
Speaker:just SBAs jumping in and giving him a hand.
Speaker:Yeah, I I do believe that's gonna be held out, uh, at circa in Bowens.
Speaker:Um, but yeah, so definitely if you want to actually have some hands on
Speaker:practical experience, go some performance membranes, you're gonna be there as well.
Speaker:So definitely check it out.
Speaker:Um, before I'm gonna wrap out the passive house stuff.
Speaker:Um, sustainable Bills Alliance.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:What's happening?
Speaker:Oh, that's my, that's my part's.
Speaker:Your part.
Speaker:That's right.
Speaker:That's my part.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Cool.
Speaker:Um, so we would've, uh, already had our April event By the time
Speaker:you are, uh, listening to this.
Speaker:Uh, it's gonna be a ripper or I'm just gonna say in past tense.
Speaker:It was a ripper.
Speaker:It was about, uh, retrofitting.
Speaker:We have, um, our monthly webinars all planned out for the rest of the year.
Speaker:And May is gonna be talking about bushfire detailing and
Speaker:building in bushfire prone areas.
Speaker:Cavity close are getting a run
Speaker:cavity.
Speaker:Closes is gonna be getting a run, that's for sure.
Speaker:Um, and it's, um, gonna be delivered by someone who I feel is.
Speaker:Probably the most versed when it comes to building a bushfire
Speaker:areas, and that's Daniel Perham.
Speaker:Who is based in South Coast, new South Wales and very often builds in ba, FZ.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And he's a designer and a builder, so that one's gonna be an absolute cracker.
Speaker:So definitely check that one out.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Well, so what else do you, what?
Speaker:What's, I don't know if you're able to speak too much.
Speaker:I know that you gotta keep some of the information to yourself.
Speaker:You guys have a pretty good plan.
Speaker:Like what, what can we expect from SBA say over the next year?
Speaker:I'd love to get back on.
Speaker:Because I know sometimes I press these things on you.
Speaker:Yeah,
Speaker:I'd love to just like, like we did with Helen, I wanna know what's next.
Speaker:I want, like, I, I'm excited.
Speaker:I think you guys are doing awesome.
Speaker:So I, I'm gonna, by the time this comes out, I reckon some, there would be some,
Speaker:um, some things that have come to life.
Speaker:Let
Speaker:as soon as it coming out in the next three weeks just to be safe.
Speaker:Okay.
Speaker:So current, we've just had a planning.
Speaker:A couple of planning days where we are kind of mapping out the rest of the year.
Speaker:So we have some really exciting things coming up.
Speaker:We, even though I feel we've been kicking some goals over the last two
Speaker:or three years, I feel like last week was where everything came together.
Speaker:Everyone was on the same page.
Speaker:We actually had some really clear direction of why we exist
Speaker:and what we're gonna be doing.
Speaker:Why
Speaker:do you exist?
Speaker:I
Speaker:can't talk about that just yet.
Speaker:Uh, because I, I, I, I, I, I'm
Speaker:not at
Speaker:risk, at risk of, um, at risk of, uh, being
Speaker:told off by back.
Speaker:I've being told off by someone, um,
Speaker:who's most likely in that group to tell you off?
Speaker:Uh, probably Simon.
Speaker:Really?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So calm.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:No, no, no.
Speaker:I get in trouble with Simon a lot.
Speaker:Thanks.
Speaker:In,
Speaker:in the nor in the naughty corner.
Speaker:Go, go look in the corner.
Speaker:Hammish.
Speaker:I'm, I'm the Naugh.
Speaker:No, actually no, I'm totally joking.
Speaker:Brian's a hundred percent the Naugh one, isn't he?
Speaker:You know what I love about that group?
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:So there's been a couple of occasions, and I remember Beck, when we had our first
Speaker:planning day, Simon and I were like really robust conversation across the table.
Speaker:Like we were disagreeing about something like really emo like we, we were really
Speaker:passionate about it and I could see Beck's like, oh, is this gonna be a problem?
Speaker:And Simon and I looked at each other and goes, no, we this, we're
Speaker:just, we can just working shit out.
Speaker:And the fact that we can just really have these really amazingly robust
Speaker:conversations with each other.
Speaker:Not to say me and Simon saying, same goal, same team.
Speaker:I'm just saying the team, you know, we've got this level of trust amongst all of us.
Speaker:'cause let's face it.
Speaker:We're volunteers in this organization.
Speaker:I mean, no, you're not volunteers.
Speaker:You're actually paying to be the volunteer.
Speaker:We're paying to be the volunteers in this organization and we want the success.
Speaker:We, we want this organization to be successful, so we need to get to
Speaker:the outcomes as quick as possible.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And we can't do that without robust conversations and the professionalism
Speaker:around that table last week.
Speaker:I'll tell you now, it is a different organization than
Speaker:what it was even a year before.
Speaker:And I'm assuming, uh, Beck's had a huge,
Speaker:massive, yeah, massive, massive.
Speaker:And you know what?
Speaker:Standby, she's going full time soon.
Speaker:Just like get outta the bag.
Speaker:Be could be awesome.
Speaker:No, I be, could be full-time soon.
Speaker:Like, so I, I don't know if even I've on the SBA podcast just stand
Speaker:builders yak with Brian and Simon.
Speaker:If you don't listen to it, you should.
Speaker:So I had a good chat with him on theirs the other day.
Speaker:Um, I said it at the end like, and.
Speaker:When you first started, I was really skeptical because I thought the passive
Speaker:house association was just taking off.
Speaker:Um, I couldn't have been more wrong in the fact that like,
Speaker:you guys are killing it to me.
Speaker:You are the industry leaders in.
Speaker:This, you are the only association from my perspective that is
Speaker:representing builders to build better.
Speaker:Um, you are, and it's not like you are getting paid for it.
Speaker:Mm. You, you do this off your, your own back.
Speaker:Um, you've had, what is it, nearly seven years that you've been around six years to
Speaker:late, late 2019.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So that's a lot of time to, to really put in.
Speaker:Um, so
Speaker:the sugar, the sugar hits gone, the sugar hit of that, it's a real
Speaker:thing now.
Speaker:It's real.
Speaker:It's not a hobby, it's a, it's not, it ain't no hobby.
Speaker:And it's, it is a real organization now.
Speaker:And you know, there are gonna be a lot of structural changes coming up and I, again,
Speaker:can't cater it to outta the bag too much.
Speaker:Uh, where.
Speaker:We're partnering with some really great, you know, organizations.
Speaker:One I can talk about, um, Trent from Melbourne Polytech.
Speaker:We're doing a lot of work with him at the moment.
Speaker:Um, Jeremy's investing a lot of his energy into that one and, you know, there's gonna
Speaker:be some pretty cool things, you know.
Speaker:Lots more membership based stuff.
Speaker:Lots, a lot more incentive around becoming a member.
Speaker:Um,
Speaker:lot's Membership cost.
Speaker:'cause this is my next thing and I haven't, I haven't
Speaker:got this on our own anymore.
Speaker:This 600
Speaker:bucks.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So, okay.
Speaker:Can I, this is my opinion.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:My only opinion, this is not Hamish's opinion.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Scrap your HAA membership or your master builders and go sign up for SBA
Speaker:straight out like you were gonna get.
Speaker:Way more outta that.
Speaker:Than you are anything else?
Speaker:If multiple people come to me and ask me how to build better, where do I start?
Speaker:That is where you start.
Speaker:Yeah, I know.
Speaker:That's, that's my own opinion.
Speaker:I, I, I
Speaker:would like to, I would like to think that we all have enough money in our
Speaker:kitty to be members of all of it.
Speaker:If you can be one, that's where you start.
Speaker:But thank you, Matt.
Speaker:I,
Speaker:I, I honestly think that because there's really no excuse now
Speaker:and the information is there.
Speaker:There's so much resources that you have and people are, they're hungry for more.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:You're providing that and you're providing it at an entry level costing.
Speaker:Mm-hmm.
Speaker:You're providing that in a, in a way that works around the builders
Speaker:and tradies time being on site.
Speaker:Because at the end of the day, if they're not on site, then they don't earn money.
Speaker:They can't sit on a webinar at, at 1130 and participate because
Speaker:that doesn't suit their timing.
Speaker:Um, unlike US bills we can jump on and work at the same time.
Speaker:So for me.
Speaker:I If you're listening, please sign up.
Speaker:Um, I'm not just saying that 'cause Hamish is here and get along with a lot of the
Speaker:guys.
Speaker:Well, I'm, I'm, I'm saying it 'cause I'm here.
Speaker:You
Speaker:should sign up.
Speaker:No, but like, this actually is a genuine thing.
Speaker:Like, I actually want you guys to sign up.
Speaker:Um,
Speaker:which, and do you know what though?
Speaker:And I know CPD points is not a thing for builders in Victoria right now.
Speaker:Yes, yes.
Speaker:However, we do offer CPD points and for architects as well.
Speaker:Probably.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah, we do.
Speaker:We do it now.
Speaker:So what's really interesting, and this is probably a little bit of a, another
Speaker:bit of insight as to where we're kind of seeing the organization go is.
Speaker:We have a huge amount of interest from the design community.
Speaker:We've got.
Speaker:We've consistently got the same architects and designers coming to our events.
Speaker:Not only that, we've recently had Breathe architecture sign up as members.
Speaker:Kaba has been amazing.
Speaker:He literally jumped on and did all his badges in like a night.
Speaker:So he's like, breathe.
Speaker:Architecture is now up there on our builders directory or our directory as
Speaker:like one of the top badge, uh, badge earners, that's what you wanna call it.
Speaker:But we feel like hearing feedback from the design communities that they're like,
Speaker:you guys are like the only people that are actually giving us stuff that is tangible.
Speaker:Like,
Speaker:yeah.
Speaker:You, you're taking us to, to see these new products where you, you're
Speaker:bringing in guests to talk about the things that we wanna know more about.
Speaker:And not only that we're ticking off our CPD points, so we're not just doing
Speaker:like, and we actually had an architect say to me, I originally came for the
Speaker:CPD, I'm coming back for the content.
Speaker:They're coming back all the time.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Because it's actually a good content
Speaker:and that probably flows onto content.
Speaker:Next conversation, beer and bf, which is sort of a bit of a Yep.
Speaker:Part arm of what we're doing now.
Speaker:So once a month.
Speaker:We have a awesome list of people.
Speaker:It's an online webinar.
Speaker:It's usually the last Thursday of each month from memory.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Uh, it's online.
Speaker:You get your tickets for Humana Human.
Speaker:Uh, you jump on.
Speaker:It's free.
Speaker:It's free.
Speaker:You jump on the, um.
Speaker:Our mindful website, I'll link you to that.
Speaker:Now we have an awesome guest panel, like, so it's two sections.
Speaker:It's myself,
Speaker:we, we've got two.
Speaker:We've got two.
Speaker:We've got two groups.
Speaker:We, we split up, we started with one group.
Speaker:We thought it was a little bit clunky.
Speaker:11 people too much.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So now we've, now we've split it off into panel A, panel B.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So we've got Brad from.
Speaker:Sanford BuildCo, you're all familiar with him?
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Myself and Hamish Dylan from Allman Projects specializing in
Speaker:retrofits retrofit renovations
Speaker:retrofits.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Got our good friend Cam Monroe, who find me another smarter person
Speaker:in building science in Australia.
Speaker:Um, we've got Jesse Allen.
Speaker:From our Good Friend climate show, but also building theology podcasts.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So if you're not following wrong to her, have a listen.
Speaker:Uh, we have Matt O'Grady, who works at PHCP down in Tazzie, who's a very good
Speaker:resource of education and putting some time into educating people about the.
Speaker:Importance of durability and structures.
Speaker:Sean from Haven Homes, who just loves going down any rabbit hole he can find,
Speaker:he is a Captain Rabbit hole.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:J uh, Justin O'Connor, who performance membranes, but
Speaker:also extremely smart building.
Speaker:He's smarter
Speaker:than Cameron.
Speaker:Oh.
Speaker:Um, to keep Justin on edge for say, Cam's just got him.
Speaker:But the moment, yeah, I reckon.
Speaker:But Justin has one of the smartest people in this passive house industry.
Speaker:He's been doing it long before Hamish and I have.
Speaker:Um, we also have Air Boss Dan.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:He's, uh, always a character and provides a great conversation.
Speaker:There's one more.
Speaker:I know who it is.
Speaker:I'm just trying to think.
Speaker:There's one more.
Speaker:That fucker.
Speaker:Anyone else?
Speaker:No, I think
Speaker:got Drew.
Speaker:Uh, so Drew, sorry.
Speaker:Drew, finally.
Speaker:Drew.
Speaker:Fine.
Speaker:Sorry Drew.
Speaker:I was leaving the best of luck 'cause Drew's finally
Speaker:agreed to come on our podcast.
Speaker:Um, but Drew mechanical ventilation.
Speaker:Find me anyone that is more passionate about this stuff than
Speaker:him and you'll get a golden ticket.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Uh, due to the Willy Wonka factory.
Speaker:So, um.
Speaker:I don't think I've missed anyone.
Speaker:No,
Speaker:that's it.
Speaker:So, so this came off the back.
Speaker:Let's give credit where credit serious.
Speaker:So this came off the back of Brad coming to us and saying, Hey, you know what?
Speaker:I really think we should do this.
Speaker:We're in a great, um, position to do it.
Speaker:You know, we've got a bunch of super passionate people, uh,
Speaker:who wanna share their knowledge.
Speaker:And this is what it's all about, sharing knowledge, like
Speaker:on a specific topic each week that's nerdy.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:So I've had treated pine, or not treated pine battens, cold versus warm roof.
Speaker:Um,
Speaker:Dylan.
Speaker:Dylan was, um, retro in insulating existing subfloors.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And Matt was, Matt was just construction details.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And I'm doing mine on the details from my house, which has already come out, and
Speaker:these will all be ventured on YouTube.
Speaker:So if you are, can't make it for some reason, about a month later,
Speaker:the next one will be on YouTube.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:I wanna encourage people to come to live one for questions.
Speaker:I'm, I'm gonna do a quick shout out here.
Speaker:Now, if anyone, anyone listening.
Speaker:Wants to sponsor the beer and BS po.
Speaker:Uh, the beer and bs, um,
Speaker:webinar
Speaker:webinars get in touch.
Speaker:We are looking for one sponsor and one sponsor only.
Speaker:Uh, and the whole reason we want to bring a sponsor on is so we can give everybody
Speaker:in the beer and bs, uh, expert panel.
Speaker:Some really good recording equipment so we can, and a really good webinar,
Speaker:uh, um, webcam so we can start bringing really good visual content.
Speaker:So,
Speaker:and it will also be on YouTube with your logo.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:So there's a like huge opportunity there.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:There's a big opportunity and yeah.
Speaker:I guarantee we're not asking for a huge amount.
Speaker:I think the opportunity's great.
Speaker:So, uh, yeah, we are looking for a sponsor for beer and
Speaker:beans.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:That is purely just to cover costs for us.
Speaker:Like we don't make any money off this.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:Um, we've had amazing feedback from that actually.
Speaker:Mainly I find, I think a lot of our people are listening actually,
Speaker:architects and they're, I, I've actually gone through the, the list of people
Speaker:who sign up and what the feedback I've had is they just wish every,
Speaker:this is by far their best learning.
Speaker:They don't get anything close to this with CPD training because
Speaker:they said it's real advice.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:It's real situation that they have to, to deal with and they're.
Speaker:Um, sick and tired have just been presented a product where
Speaker:Complete agnostic, is that the word or have I just made that up?
Speaker:Yeah, no, agnostic.
Speaker:Good to products.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Um, even though we are, this podcast is sponsored by pro Climber, but
Speaker:this is not a, that is not a pro climber part, but we are very
Speaker:honest on what the products we use.
Speaker:We have.
Speaker:Ultimately Dan works for pro climber.
Speaker:Justin sells pro climber products and Matt works with Justin so
Speaker:well hang on.
Speaker:Jess.
Speaker:Jess CL shop.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Yes, pro climber.
Speaker:So yeah, it, it, but we are totally open on the products.
Speaker:We'll be very honest on what we think.
Speaker:Um, it just happens that pro climber have the best products in everything.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:There's a whole different story.
Speaker:Just
Speaker:full disclosure.
Speaker:Um, it is unlikely if you are another building or a company
Speaker:that will accept your sponsorship.
Speaker:No, no, we won't.
Speaker:Or a training provider.
Speaker:'cause you've also got MEGT.
Speaker:Now Matt, we give a huge amount of information away, and I know it's
Speaker:something that's been kind of, I'm gonna throw this on you today actually.
Speaker:Uh, 'cause I've just written this down.
Speaker:We have a, a growing database Yeah.
Speaker:Of emails, uh, which we wanna start utilizing.
Speaker:Not just use and abuse, we actually wanna start giving you
Speaker:really good information Yeah.
Speaker:In your inbox every month.
Speaker:So we are gonna be starting a newsletter soon and we would love,
Speaker:if you want to be on that newsletter mailing list, get in touch.
Speaker:You can get in touch via the Mindful Builder, uh, um, Instagram page,
Speaker:or you can jump on a website or you can give Matt or me a Matt a
Speaker:call and just drop your email in.
Speaker:Um, or by signing up to beer and bs, you automatically go onto that
Speaker:uh, mailing list for our newsletter.
Speaker:Again, we're not handing that list out to anyone.
Speaker:We just want to, we just want to use, we just want to continue giving.
Speaker:We see, you know, a lot of the reason why Matt and I started this podcast in the
Speaker:podcast specifically is to help educate and all of these other things that we're
Speaker:offering are purely about education.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:A hundred percent.
Speaker:And.
Speaker:We want to get that out there.
Speaker:We ultimately want the industry to be better.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So it, it honestly, if we don't, we, well, we, while we do this for fun, but we also,
Speaker:uh, passionate about building better.
Speaker:Now, last thing, uh, we're actually going to Adelaide.
Speaker:Uh, we are gonna be up there, the ni uh, 20th and.
Speaker:Yeah, for the ninth of the 20th, the 20th and 21st recording at the
Speaker:Climber Shore Endura Building offices.
Speaker:Now we had,
Speaker:is it, is it CL Shore?
Speaker:Endur Building offices.
Speaker:Oh yeah, we're doing there.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And then, and then we're having the open day.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:At Jackson's um,
Speaker:passive house certified South Australia's first certified
Speaker:passive house display home.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Now it's a two hour live q and a event.
Speaker:You are gonna myself, Hamish, Ja, Hamish, Jackson, and Jess.
Speaker:Jess Kismet, not Alan.
Speaker:Sorry.
Speaker:Yes.
Speaker:I should get that right.
Speaker:That's all right.
Speaker:Interchangeable.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:So it is, if you're offering sa, I highly encourage you to come.
Speaker:You can ask us whatever you want about passive house construction,
Speaker:the membranes that we use, anything.
Speaker:So that is, didn't
Speaker:ask us anything about anything
Speaker:really.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Honestly.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:What did you have for dinner last night?
Speaker:Hamish, but Mount Barker, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM 20th of April.
Speaker:You can jump on the pro climber website.
Speaker:Head to their event section.
Speaker:Sign up.
Speaker:Uh, we really, really encourage you to do it.
Speaker:Um, it'll give you a chance to explore the space, ask questions, learn about
Speaker:high performance homes, and there are some light snacks and drinks provided.
Speaker:Um,
Speaker:and a big shout out to Enduro Builders and Climb Shore for
Speaker:helping us put on this event.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Um, you know,
Speaker:and it's a pro, it's ultimately a pro climb event.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:So it's run by pro climber.
Speaker:You've gotta sign up to the pro climber.
Speaker:That's website.
Speaker:That's a, that's a duh.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:But, uh, Jackson doesn't know this yet, but there'd be one lucky
Speaker:giveaway that gets to grab a coffee with Jackson when you're up there.
Speaker:Oh, what about a free night in his, um,
Speaker:oh yeah.
Speaker:They haven't even done even better.
Speaker:You know what,
Speaker:Jack Jackson we're raffling off, uh, a free night in your, um.
Speaker:Actually, that's not, that's not true at all.
Speaker:But maybe you get to share
Speaker:the bear with j with Jackson.
Speaker:Jackson.
Speaker:He'd be a good cuddler.
Speaker:I reckon.
Speaker:He's probably listened to.
Speaker:He's been like, fuck you two.
Speaker:Oh, no, no.
Speaker:You know what?
Speaker:It's funny, Jackson, I, I've known Jackson since 2018.
Speaker:We actually did the passive house course together.
Speaker:Really?
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Um, I've never actually met him.
Speaker:Great guy.
Speaker:Super excited.
Speaker:But yeah, in Mount Barker, Enduro building display home in Spring Lake to Gro Place.
Speaker:So please sign up, register.
Speaker:It is free.
Speaker:It doesn't cost you any money.
Speaker:Uh, we are, we will probably, we be, I'm unfiltered.
Speaker:Ham should be unfiltered.
Speaker:But yeah.
Speaker:Jess, technical manager at Climate Shore.
Speaker:Jack Jackson, who has a wealth of business knowledge, uh, for those
Speaker:young builders and anyone, you don't have to know the product.
Speaker:The whole idea is you've someone, we all started somewhere and I
Speaker:actually had a kid reach out today and he is like, I'm at level one.
Speaker:You're at level 100.
Speaker:What about what do I do?
Speaker:I was like, I was at level one once too.
Speaker:Yep,
Speaker:that's it.
Speaker:Like we, I was in your place at one point.
Speaker:It is just how much effort you put in.
Speaker:So.
Speaker:Mindful moment today I'm gonna do, this is a real quick one.
Speaker:We have just given you 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ways to learn.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:There are no excuses.
Speaker:If you're an apprentice, all of them are free.
Speaker:Whilst that event is in Adelaide, we do them in Melbourne.
Speaker:We're doing 'em in New South Wales.
Speaker:Later in this year, we're going to Brisbane.
Speaker:Uh, we are going to WA as well.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:These events are gonna be through every state.
Speaker:Ch pro climber also always have events on their website.
Speaker:So yeah, I dunno if there's even a way that they can sign up to.
Speaker:Yep.
Speaker:Um, whilst we're on the list of, uh, pro climber, I'm actually just want to give,
Speaker:I think Gus has sent me a message here.
Speaker:One, one thing that I have, uh, really, I, I kind of get a lot, the
Speaker:question I get is like, who's, who's the pro climber rep in my, in my area?
Speaker:So what I wanna do, I, if I've got this here, I mean, we should, we should
Speaker:speak to her, maybe put it on our.
Speaker:Website or something, but he gave me a list of each state, um, who to con
Speaker:contact so we can quickly put a resource.
Speaker:We might even do an, an, um, Instagram post to point people in the right way.
Speaker:Um.
Speaker:It's actually not loading.
Speaker:So what, what we're gonna do, we'll do Instagram post Yeah.
Speaker:Each day on who your Proclama distributors are.
Speaker:Some might have multiple.
Speaker:Yeah, that's a good idea.
Speaker:That way we have a resource and when someone asks, we
Speaker:can just send them that page.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:And do you know what we'll put in the show notes?
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:In your region, who the best
Speaker:person to contact?
Speaker:Um, and, and this is a starting point, you might not know how to use the pro climber
Speaker:products, but if you're an apprentice.
Speaker:Reach younger.
Speaker:I wanna learn.
Speaker:Yeah, I know, I know in Victoria, performance membranes do it.
Speaker:Um, pretty Jess does.
Speaker:It just does it?
Speaker:Brian, that will show you.
Speaker:They'll talk through it.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:No, great.
Speaker:He does
Speaker:it.
Speaker:Yeah.
Speaker:Oh yeah, exactly.
Speaker:Like every state there's someone.
Speaker:So please.
Speaker:But bit of a housekeeping episode.
Speaker:Um, probably a bit different to usual.
Speaker:Hope you've learned something a bit more of what's happening.
Speaker:We've got some really cool stuff coming up this year.
Speaker:Um, we're super pumped.
Speaker:This is also on YouTube.
Speaker:If you didn't know, you can watch it on YouTube.
Speaker:The videos are there.
Speaker:Uh, and that is where we're gonna be going a lot in the future.
Speaker:We're gonna try to do some filming on site and stuff.
Speaker:So anyway, hey, have a great weekend away.
Speaker:You too, man.
Speaker:Thanks buddy.
Speaker:Thank you very much.
Speaker:Appreciate it.
