Renee Rouleau

Foreign.

Roxy

I would love to play a little skin care game with you if you're up for it.

Renee Rouleau

Okay. All right.

Roxy

It's a quick fire game. It's called Glow up or no thanks. So basically I will, you know, talk about a trend or something going on with skin care, and if you approve it, you say glow up or no thanks is a hard pass.

Renee Rouleau

Okay.

Roxy

Okay. Slugging with Vaseline, hard pass. You're like, do not clog the pores.

Renee Rouleau

Right.

Roxy

Like, that just seems like it's.

Renee Rouleau

No, it's ridiculous.

Roxy

It's ridiculous.

Renee Rouleau

Right?

Roxy

Okay.

Renee Rouleau

No, no, there's so many other. You can use plant oils, there's other barrier repair moisturizers. There's lots of other things that we can do to retain moisture in the skin. We don't need to go that long.

Roxy

Exactly.

Renee Rouleau

Use the Vaseline on your feet and put socks on and your will be amazing. But not, not your face.

Roxy

Yes, correct. Monthly micro needling.

Renee Rouleau

I'll say glow up, but depends on the skin type.

Roxy

Okay. DIY face shaving. Like dermaplaning.

Renee Rouleau

Glow up. Love it.

Roxy

Does it help you absorb products more when you do that?

Renee Rouleau

I mean, when you use the home, Home devices? No, they're, I mean, they're, they make them so safe for home. I mean, I say safe they're because they don't. There's, we live in such a litigious society that if you're actually cutting people, like, you're in trouble, like if you're with a home care device. So no, the, the home ones, they have like little safety guards on them. So I wouldn't say that it's truly exfoliating the skin in the way that a professional dermaplaning would.

Roxy

Okay. Facial gua sha every morning.

Renee Rouleau

Glow up. Good for circulation and good for puffiness.

Roxy

Ice facials.

Renee Rouleau

Glow up. Love it.

Roxy

Okay.

Renee Rouleau

Cryo. Any, any type of cryotherapy. Cold for the skin is really good.

Roxy

It's really good.

Renee Rouleau

Okay.

Roxy

PRP vampire facials.

Renee Rouleau

I've never had one, but I, I, I'll say glow up because again, when I talked about earlier with lasers and things like, you kind of, it's good to kind of shake things up a little bit with the skin. So I would say glow up for that one, but, but I've not personally done it and it's not on my to get list, but I, I like the concept of it. Okay.

Roxy

Biore pore strips. A little bit of a throwback, but those little strips, you.

Renee Rouleau

I know, right, right.

Roxy

Hard p. Yeah, yeah. Not doing anything. Okay. Oral collagen. Like collagen gummies.

Renee Rouleau

I'll say glow up because I don't think it's hurting anything. Now is the data showing? Well, that's also like, what's so hard about everything is like, how do you know what your skin would look like if you didn't take it right? You know what I mean? So it's always challenging. So I'll say glow up. It's sure, sure.

Roxy

Hydroquinone for hyperpigmentation.

Renee Rouleau

I'll say hard pass. But the caveat is sometimes it's needed but in small amounts for short periods of time. But no, sorry, then that would be a glow up. But only in certain circumstances. Circumstances. Certain circumstances only because, you know, it has, you know, some, some studies about it being a little dangerous, but sometimes just need to pull out the big guns. That's tried and true. And hydroquinone, is that okay at home?

Roxy

LED lights and masks. So like red light, blue light, yellow.

Renee Rouleau

Light, glow up for red light, hard pass for yellow and blue light.

Roxy

Really? Why is that?

Renee Rouleau

I just, I'm not convinced it works. I mean, the blue light, a lot of times they talk about for acne, but I mean, blue light came out easily 15 years ago and it would be a staple for everyone if it really did what it said it was going to do.
