Speaker A

Welcome to the Elevated Edit, the weekly reset for ambitious women who are done with chaos and ready to actually follow through.

Speaker A

I'm your host, Blakely Ramsey, strategist, systems girl and execution coach for entrepreneurs who want structure that sells in a business that feels like peace.

Speaker A

Here, we don't chase hustle.

Speaker A

We edit what matters.

Speaker A

Let's get into it.

Speaker B

Hello.

Speaker B

It is time for another short and sweet episode.

Speaker B

Y' all know I love to give you all these little golden nuggets for when you've got a couple of extra minutes in the car or you're doing laundry or something and you don't have time for an entire episode.

Speaker B

You just want to pack a little punch.

Speaker B

Today, I am just going to give you a reminder, and this is something that I have really needed the past couple of weeks.

Speaker B

It's something that I thankfully have been mentored on, and I have had several people remind me, I've had several podcasts remind me, several books remind me, and it put me in a better head space.

Speaker B

And so I want to pass it forward, and I want to pass it along to you.

Speaker B

If you have been showing up and doing the thing and putting in the reps, and it still feels like nothing is happening, you are not making any progress.

Speaker B

You're not getting any views, you're not getting any downloads, you're not getting any purchases.

Speaker B

You might not be doing anything wrong.

Speaker B

You might just be in the part where most people quit.

Speaker B

A lot of us wildly underestimate how long it takes to get really great at something, and I do feel very fortunate that I am a real estate agent, because there is.

Speaker B

I.

Speaker B

I do feel like real estate is one of those industries where it can feel like, okay, you know, I've got my license and I am ready to go.

Speaker B

Like, I know everything.

Speaker B

And then you actually, it's like the first day you show up at the office, and you're like, okay, now what am I supposed to do?

Speaker B

Like, when you get your license, they don't tell you how to start a business, they don't tell you how to get leads, they don't tell you how to, you know, network and all the things.

Speaker B

And it really does take so long.

Speaker B

You where you're showing houses, you're not writing any offers, you really know how to finesse and communicate with people, and it takes so long.

Speaker B

It took me a solid two years to feel confident and be like, oh, I'm actually making a sustainable income.

Speaker B

And, you know, unfortunately, a lot of the programs that I'm in, there are so many women who get so frustrated after a couple of months.

Speaker B

You know, they're like, I've been doing the same thing for two months, or I've been doing the same thing for three months.

Speaker B

Or I posted on social media every day for three months and nothing happened.

Speaker B

And it's like, really, in the grand scheme of business and excellence and success, three months is nothing.

Speaker B

Like, I'm not joking, I, like I said, real estate was two years.

Speaker B

And then with the podcast, it took like, I am at a year right now, and I'm finally starting to see significant growth in my downloads.

Speaker B

And I'm not joking, it took a solid year.

Speaker B

Like, for a while there, I was like, why am I even.

Speaker B

I mean, I don't love the podcast, but it felt like, what am I doing this for?

Speaker B

Like, I'm just talking off into the void.

Speaker B

But now that I'm getting traction, I have a whole library of episodes that my new listeners can go back and listen to.

Speaker B

And if I had quit when it was uncomfortable, when I felt like no one was listening, I wouldn't have made the progress that I've made now.

Speaker B

And it's just, I know that it can be so discouraging.

Speaker B

Like, trust me, there are days where I'm like, okay, I'm.

Speaker B

I've got to get up.

Speaker B

I've got to do the same thing that I have done the last 180 days.

Speaker B

I have to do the same thing with no results, with, you know, no likes, no views.

Speaker B

Especially right now.

Speaker B

Instagram is the Insta.

Speaker B

The Instagram algorithm is not a friend at this point.

Speaker B

I'm very thankful that I'm learning paid ads because that is a guarantee of getting in front of people.

Speaker B

Because if it weren't for paid ads right now, I do not know, like, as far as mental headspace in terms of marketing, I don't know what I'd be doing because organic reach with Instagram is just, it's bananas, but it really does.

Speaker B

It just takes reps, it takes time.

Speaker B

It takes staying in the game, getting in the room, and just consistently showing up.

Speaker B

I think I mentioned this on a couple episodes ago, but one of my Instagram coaches, she said that it takes showing up on Instagram for 180 days in a row to see results.

Speaker B

And I think so often.

Speaker B

And, and I feel this way often too.

Speaker B

So, you know, this isn't shame or guilt, but we're like, man, you know, I posted 20 reels or 20 stories or whatever the case was, and it's like 180 days to see any results.

Speaker B

And for me, at least, that is so encouraging because it just reminds me that I just haven't been in it long enough.

Speaker B

And one of my coaches today was talking about how it's so easy for us to look at our idols or our role models or the people that we look up to and be like, wow, I wish I had what she had.

Speaker B

Like, I wish I was having the million dollar day.

Speaker B

I wish I'm had a team of 20 people.

Speaker B

I wish I was getting book deals.

Speaker B

I wish I was, you know, getting asked to be on all these podcasts.

Speaker B

Like, it.

Speaker B

It really can be so hard to see where you're at and see where they are.

Speaker B

But she encouraged us today.

Speaker B

She said, don't look at where those people are.

Speaker B

Look at where they were when they were in your shoes.

Speaker B

And she said, you know, go back and look at this.

Speaker B

Their Instagram accounts.

Speaker B

Ten years ago, eight.

Speaker B

Eight years ago, five years ago.

Speaker B

She said, like, stop looking at where they're at right now and look at where they started.

Speaker B

And to me, that was just such a good reminder.

Speaker B

I know it's common sense, but for.

Speaker B

I like to hear these reminders over and over and over again, especially when I'm in a season like, I'm in right now where I'm showing up and doing the same thing every single day.

Speaker B

And it's really boring.

Speaker B

And I think when it's really boring and there's no, like, fun action or fun momentum, it can just get so discouraging.

Speaker B

And so I really just want to encourage you, if there is someone that you are.

Speaker B

You look up to or you're like, man, they are in the position I want to be in.

Speaker B

They have the career that I want to have.

Speaker B

They're hitting the goals that I want to have.

Speaker B

Like, I encourage you to look back at their post or their podcast episodes or their, you know, know, whatever their track record, don't look at where they are now.

Speaker B

Look at where they were five years ago.

Speaker B

Look at where they were 10 years ago.

Speaker B

Because that is when.

Speaker B

That is likely when they were putting in the majority of their effort to get them where they are now.

Speaker B

And it is.

Speaker B

It's so easy to just watch the highlight reels of, like, man, she went on, like a press tour and, you know, she was on a billboard in, you know, New York Times Square.

Speaker B

Like, I.

Speaker B

Why don't I have that?

Speaker B

I'm just as talented as she is.

Speaker B

And the likelihood is you just haven't put in enough time.

Speaker B

You haven't been patient enough.

Speaker B

You haven't let the momentum build.

Speaker B

I was telling an agent this the other day.

Speaker B

She was really frustrated with her business, and she was like, you know, I.

Speaker B

She's been in the industry, I guess it's been about a year now.

Speaker B

And she was like, I just don't feel like it's happening fast enough.

Speaker B

I'm like, look, I get it.

Speaker B

Everybody wants everything to happen fast.

Speaker B

We're in a fast digital world.

Speaker B

Everything's at our fingertips, and we want everything right now, right when we want it.

Speaker B

I said, but, you know, real estate and business, it's like, at the beginning, you have to make the snowball.

Speaker B

So you have to pick up the snow.

Speaker B

You have to pack it yourself.

Speaker B

You know, you have to put in the effort.

Speaker B

And then if you want to roll it, you have to put it on the ground.

Speaker B

It's likely going to fall apart.

Speaker B

And you're like, man, this is so much work.

Speaker B

Like, this is so much effort.

Speaker B

And you're having to manually do everything, manually roll the snowball.

Speaker B

But then eventually it'll start to get a little bit bigger, a little bit bigger, and you can start to, okay, well, I don't have to, like, form it myself anymore.

Speaker B

I can just push it, and then you can just push the snowball.

Speaker B

Push it.

Speaker B

And then eventually it'll be rolling down the hill by itself.

Speaker B

And I think so often, and I'm guilty of this, too, but we look at other people's snowball just gliding down the mountain, and we're like, man, they just have it so easy.

Speaker B

They just have better circumstances than me.

Speaker B

They just, you know, had a better.

Speaker B

A better start.

Speaker B

They got off on a better foot.

Speaker B

And it's like.

Speaker B

Well, the.

Speaker B

Most of the time, the people that look like their snowball is just rolling down the hill, they put in serious work to create that initial momentum.

Speaker B

And it is.

Speaker B

I.

Speaker B

I know it's hard.

Speaker B

I wish there was an easy button, and I could just make the patience and the frustration and the.

Speaker B

The agony of sitting in that river of misery go away.

Speaker B

But the people that.

Speaker B

That win just stay in it longer.

Speaker B

That really is just the truth.

Speaker B

But.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

I hope that this was a good reminder for you today.

Speaker B

I.

Speaker B

You're gonna laugh when you hear this.

Speaker B

Totally dropped the ball today.

Speaker B

I am.

Speaker B

Actually, it is.

Speaker B

It is 9:39 on the.

Speaker B

The Thursday before the Friday of this podcast release.

Speaker B

I totally forgot to record this episode.

Speaker B

Typically, it's the first thing I do when I get to the office because I like to record with fresh energy.

Speaker B

I'm excited, I'm pumped, I'm Ready to go.

Speaker B

I get in, I record, I edit, I do show notes, I work on promo, and then I knock everything else out.

Speaker B

But that's the first thing I get done.

Speaker B

I make it a priority, and I usually do it two or three days in advance.

Speaker B

So that way, if something comes up already, have it done.

Speaker B

Well, this week has been bananas.

Speaker B

B A, N A, N, A, S.

Speaker B

Thank you, Gwen Stefani.

Speaker B

Would any of us know how to spell bananas if it weren't for her?

Speaker B

Truly?

Speaker B

Thanks.

Speaker B

She's just a girl.

Speaker B

I.

Speaker B

This week has been bananas.

Speaker B

And then I got to the office this morning, and my schedule, a call that I thought was going to be at a certain time.

Speaker B

I didn't look at the time zone, the time zone difference, but also the host of the call kind of got things confused.

Speaker B

And so when I got to the office, I was like, scrambling immediately in the call.

Speaker B

And then I already had a busy day on top of that, so I just had a lot of moving parts and I left the office, came home, dilly, dallied around the house, cleaned, cooked, we had a beautiful homemade dinner, we watched a movie, and I came and laid down and I was like.

Speaker B

Because I normally kind of just think through a little bit of marketing for the podcast episode that's going to come out the next day.

Speaker B

Just like, what do I want to talk about in stories?

Speaker B

How do I want to, you know, promote it or whatever.

Speaker B

And I went to think about it, I was like, oh, my gosh, I never recorded that podcast episode.

Speaker B

So I'm literally like, full on under the comforter.

Speaker B

Thankfully, I have a microphone here at the house.

Speaker B

It's not as great as the one at the office, but if you are having difficulty being consistent with content, start a podcast.

Speaker B

And I promise it will change the game for you because it will force you to be consistent.

Speaker B

There's no.

Speaker B

Oh, well, I just won't.

Speaker B

I just.

Speaker B

I'll just post something next week.

Speaker B

Like, you're like, no, I post every stinking Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Speaker B

There will be a podcast episode.

Speaker B

Come out tomorrow at 7am period.

Speaker B

It'll make you so consistent, but.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

That's all I've got for you.

Speaker B

Reporting live from my bedroom.

Speaker B

Goodness.

Speaker B

Oh, goodness gracious.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

I hope you got some value out of this, some motivation.

Speaker B

That's what I want.

Speaker B

I want you to stay in the game.

Speaker B

I want you to stick it out.

Speaker B

You can do it.

Speaker B

The people that win are just the ones that stay in the game longer.

Speaker B

Okay?

Speaker B

You rock.

Speaker B

You got this.

Speaker B

Have an amazing rest of your day.

Speaker B

And I'LL see you in the next episode.

Speaker A

That's it for this edition of the Elevated Edit.

Speaker A
