Hey, this is NJ here, the host of the NJ podcast, and this is significant lessons, Saturdays, everybody. This is part of the everyday series where we take ideas from at ideas and lessons from iconic figures past present, future, whether they're fictional or non-fictional. And it's still, we, I believe we can learn lessons from anybody and I believe. That the best way to learn is from other people's examples. And this is a Saturday now yours may still be on the grind or you wind it down from the grind or wind up to get back onto the grind. Saturdays is a good time for us to sit and reflect and learn from everybody else. And this is the season finale. Episode, insignificant insignificantly lessons Saturday for the end of season one. And what better way to cap this off than from lessons that we can learn from Coby being Bryant? What can we learn from Coby being Brian's five NBA champion. Two finals MVPs, and two scoring championships are amongst his achievements. He played 19 years for the Los Angeles Lakers. He is third fourth on all time scoring lists in the NBA. He was known as the black Mamba for his mesmerizing movements on the NBA court. He is also known for his hard work ethic and dominance, double world and ability to come back from setbacks and failures. His name is Coby Brian's and here are some of the lessons. That we can learn from him. Rest in peace, Colby, your legacy lives on forever. And now this learned some lessons from your legacy. The first lesson that we can learn from Kobe Bryant is know your outcome from the beginning, know your outcome from the beginning, when Kobe Bryant decided to join the NBA, he was drafted to the Charlotte Hornets in 1996. However, He traded a month later because he knew his outcome. Coburn knew from early on that he wants to do what he wants to achieve in his career. He envisioned gold previous grades and being a high score in a team called the Los Angeles Lakers. Colby was about to make millions by four, went that in order to go to the Lakers, had he stayed with the Hornets. He may have never won a single championship. A teammate told us a story of Colby when he joined LA, he said, I'm going to win about four or five championships. I will be one of the greatest scores and players I've ever played. I will be the will Smith of the MBA. Colby ended up achieving what he did because he knew his outcome from the very beginning, knowing your outcome is important as you, will you be able to know what you will and will not do if you know who you are. That you know who you are, not bars upon buyers. If you know who you are, then you know who you are, not Stephen Covey calls this principle beginning with the end in mind, very few people will invest in a company that does not have a clear outcome to achieve. So why do people invest time in themselves? If they do not know their outcome with no vision, the people perish, but when there is a. When the outcome is known from the beginning, it will be directed shouldn't and achievements. No, your outcome from the very beginning. The next lesson we can learn from Coby Brad's is only consistent action. Over a long period of time will yield positive results, only consistent action. Over long period of time will yield positive results. Kobe Bryant was known as the fiercest and hardest working man in the league. At one point he would wake up at 4:00 AM and then go to the gym. He would begin with a rigorous cardio workouts and then start shooting hoops. He will not stop shooting until he made 500. Not take 500 shots, make 500 shots. His other teammates would join them at 7:00 AM and they would practice until the afternoon, have lunch and care on the practice until they stopped in the evening. Colby would carry on working until the evening when his other teammates had. This mindset is very impressive, but it is even more startling given how long he carried this work ethic for Coby paid in the NBA for over 19 years where he's consistency of action ended up in strong results, awards and honors. Our result worth noting is that he is a third world. Fourth now, highest score in play in NBA history. I feed you can't achieve without consistency of effort. Over a long period of time. A work colleague of mine once told me that there are no good or bad consultants. There are only those who are prepared and those who are not prepared, there are those who are fluctuating performance, and there are those who are with the most consistent, only the most consistent people go on to achieve great feats in a world. We're always everything. Coffee, tea, food, social, and social media posts. That can be a temptation to not stick with a course of action, long enough to yield results, steady history, and those around you. And you'll find that those who are legitimately at the top have the consistency of effort on their resume only consistent action over and over long period of time will yield strong results. The next lesson we can learn from Kobe Bryant is keep working until the end. Keep working until the end. Coby Bryant's is not without failures and setbacks. The black Mamba has been in seven finals and lost two of them. He has been the subject of scrutiny in the NBA by being accused of being a harsh critic and not being able to win without a strong ally that should kill O'Neil. Coby has been faced with your action and faced divorce accusations of adultery towards the end of his career, played by injury and poor performances. He was scrutinized for being an old man who did not want to let go. When faced with Winnie, you would not stop until the deal was closed. One on the way to winning an ABA championship in a championship series, you have to win four games to clinch the title. We knew it was up to notes or reports. I asked him why he was not. A job isn't finished. There's a job finished. I don't think so. He replied this display show that there was no place for, of places in his very last game where he would retire. After 19 years in the league, he scored 63 points, which is way above the average with a face of failure or success. He didn't have time to stop working to win. He kept going until the end, only 50% of businesses that starts make it after 10 years now, making it doesn't mean you're making any money. It means that you're breaking even, even after 10 years, there's no guarantee that you will succeed. Lehman brothers was a global financial services company that had been around for over a century. They made over a trillion dollars in revenue over this time, but they folded due to the lack of focus in the face of failure or successes when you are faced with failure, keep working to win when, on the brink of success to not get complacent, but rather keep working until the job is done. Working until the ed and Kobe's last game in the NBA, you scored 63 points, which is one of his best performances. I hope that you enjoy this episode of significant lessons.
