The National Weather Service is posting blizzard and winter weather advisories for parts of the Interior, west coast and Southeast Panhandle with dangerous travel and whiteout conditions possible today in California Strong southerly winds continue this morning for mountains and desert slopes in Southern California.

Peak gusts 55-70 mph in favored passes may bring downed limbs and difficult travel for high profile vehicles.

USGS notes only minor domestic seismic activity over the last day, including a magnitude 2.6 near Toya, Texas.

No damage reported for ongoing recovery.

California High wind warnings and advisories continue into early afternoon for wind prone areas along and below the desert slopes with isolated gusts to 60 to 70 mph possible farther north and west.

Previously warned areas in Ventura and Los Angeles counties see diminishing winds after daybreak.

Power disruptions and downed limbs are possible where strongest gusts occur.

Alaska Blizzard warnings and winter weather advisories are in effect today for parts of the west coast and interior and strong wind wintry mix advisories extend through portions of the Southeast Panhandle.

Expect periods of whiteout, drifting snow and hazardous marine conditions.

New York Winter weather advisories remain in effect for lake effect and terrain driven snow from the Tug Hill and North country to the southern Adirondacks with additional accumulations and slick roads impacting the Wednesday commute.

Parts of eastern New York also remain under advisory for light snow through tonight.

Texas USGS records a Minor earthquake, magnitude 2.6, northwest of Toya within the past 24 hours.

No impacts reported.

All other states have no significant updates in the last 24 hours.
