Chelsey Donn:

And we can't wait to share all those photos with you, but the traveling bit

Trey Gerrald:

let's do it.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

Do you need to

VOICEOVER:

Lodge Complaint.

Chelsey Donn:

do.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't think I can wait a moment longer.

Chelsey Donn:

So I was flying out to Newark.

Chelsey Donn:

There were thunderstorms, we got delayed in the air.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

13 hours, 13 to 14 hours of being on the plane, which, which should not have been

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

So there's that.

Chelsey Donn:

But then like 12 of those hours were in the air and I feel like it's excruciating to be on the

Chelsey Donn:

It's very like nausea, inducting.

Chelsey Donn:

So anyway, we land and we're waiting for another hour, of course, to like get to our gate.

Chelsey Donn:

The woman in the row next to me on the left side had like a baby with her.

Chelsey Donn:

The baby was like mostly fine the entire time.

Chelsey Donn:

And then she decided that after flying for, you know, almost 14 hours, what everybody on the plane

Trey Gerrald:

oh,

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Now the Complaint is about baby shark.

Chelsey Donn:

That all was a little bit of like a lead up.

Chelsey Donn:

Everybody knows I'm not gonna sing the song, cuz I don't wanna ruin your day.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm just gonna say baby shark.

Chelsey Donn:

But at this point, everybody knows that is mental warfare.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

You say that to someone you're gonna ruin the rest of their day.

Chelsey Donn:

So like my day was already ruined.

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't need the additional topping of baby shark.

Chelsey Donn:

I, I mean what a move truly what?

Chelsey Donn:

A move.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe they were desperate.

Chelsey Donn:

You think they were desperate at that point?

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz of the baby.

Trey Gerrald:

two points here.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

I haven't had to circle for that long, you know, Kena Hora, but there is something maddening when

Chelsey Donn:

you're not moving.

Trey Gerrald:

wow, we're just like literally looping.

Trey Gerrald:

There's something really scary to

Chelsey Donn:

it is, yeah, it was creepy.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm trapped, I'm a prisoner and we're in the air and

Trey Gerrald:

It's.

Chelsey Donn:

And eventually we will run on the fuel, which we did.

Trey Gerrald:

And then baby shark.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

There's something about that tune that is so maddening.

Chelsey Donn:

maddening.

Chelsey Donn:

Maddening.

Trey Gerrald:

with my nephews, like I'm very aware of like, I don't wanna start it because

Chelsey Donn:

It's the new, like, this is the song that never ends.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

But that's my Complaint.

Chelsey Donn:

What's going on in your life.

Trey Gerrald:

All right, I'm gonna do it.

Trey Gerrald:

I have sat on this Complaint for a very long time and I'm going to be vulnerable

Trey Gerrald:

So you listeners, if you've been listening for a while, you might, um, have heard me

Trey Gerrald:

And you might also like try to track something and get a little bit confused.

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm gonna go ahead and Lodge this Complaint.

Trey Gerrald:

I need to Lodge a Complaint against this cultural co-sign that we all have, that it's

Trey Gerrald:

Cause I am gonna Lodge a Complaint here because during the pandemic.

Chelsey Donn:

yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

and I moved out of New York city and we actually reside in the

Trey Gerrald:

I have, have always felt a little sense of feelings about declaring that I live in New

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know why that is, but it's like, we all agree that like we can make a joke about

Trey Gerrald:

And here I am with the Complaint is that.

Trey Gerrald:

Lie.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't say that I live in New Jersey.

Trey Gerrald:

I say I live in New York and this came up for Chelsey and I, when we went to that

Trey Gerrald:

And I would say that I was still in Manhattan because it felt like we were on the two coasts.

Trey Gerrald:

And so as I'm like evolving and I'm starting to recognize, I'm putting

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like there is a character assessment or a character assassination that's gonna.

Trey Gerrald:

Said or thought when I say I am from New Jersey, because people in

Trey Gerrald:

When you say anything about New Jersey, it's like, it's like an automatic reflex.

Trey Gerrald:

When you say the state of New Jersey.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, I feel sorry for you.

Trey Gerrald:

There's like always, it's a loaded contribution to any conversation.

Trey Gerrald:

And I'm interested to bring this up with you, Chelsey, cuz you were from

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm curious how you feel in this conversation, but I'm lodging a Complaint that I have been

Trey Gerrald:

Now comedy back.

Trey Gerrald:

My Complaint today is this hate on New Jersey.

Trey Gerrald:

Why is there New Jersey shame and why is there New Jersey hate?

Trey Gerrald:

And I'm gonna declare from this episode forward, I'm gonna be honest and transparent that I live in

Trey Gerrald:

12 years, but I don't even need to say that, cuz I say that as a sense of pride, that is irrelevant.

Trey Gerrald:

It doesn't matter.

Trey Gerrald:

So I live in New Jersey Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

What are your thoughts on this cultural agreement to make fun of New Jersey?

Chelsey Donn:

So many thoughts are going through my mind.

Chelsey Donn:

First thought is like, welcome.

Chelsey Donn:

Like you're like a baby in the world.

Chelsey Donn:

It makes me actually feel like seen that you are acknowledging this, cuz

Trey Gerrald:

Like a little more than a year

Chelsey Donn:

right.

Chelsey Donn:

And I've lived in New Jersey for my I for my entire childhood.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm from there.

Chelsey Donn:

And I had a similar lie that I would tell all the time, which is, I always tell people

Chelsey Donn:

And I was constantly attacked by the people that lived in like the Philadelphia suburbs.

Chelsey Donn:

Like there were people that would live on the main line or wherever, and they would

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz they're technically like still in the state of Pennsylvania.

Chelsey Donn:

They're allowed to say that.

Chelsey Donn:

But people would, when they would find out that I lived in Jersey and I was in cherry hill,

Chelsey Donn:

You're in Jersey.

Chelsey Donn:

Like it was a whole thing.

Chelsey Donn:

Jersey is the armpit of America.

Chelsey Donn:

Have you heard that one?

Trey Gerrald:

I have, yeah,

Chelsey Donn:

the whole place smells like trash that comes from like, I

Trey Gerrald:

there is.

Chelsey Donn:

it's like above a trash dump, but yeah, I totally feel you,

Chelsey Donn:

You can just put Jersey in a sentence and all of a sudden add a laugh track

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

But ink,

Chelsey Donn:

like you said, in the musicals, it's like buddies from Jersey

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

And it always gets a

Chelsey Donn:

know, and it always gets a laugh, whatever.

Chelsey Donn:

But yeah, the I've been facing this my entire life.

Chelsey Donn:

There's a certain amount of shame that comes from living in New Jersey.

Chelsey Donn:

And I had a good childhood and also New Jersey is so vast, right?

Chelsey Donn:

Like I think the Jersey shore did us a real disservice, like after the Jersey

Chelsey Donn:

I was gonna tell people that I was from New Jersey.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah,

Chelsey Donn:

It's like people say.

Chelsey Donn:

You see a cow every day, you know?

Chelsey Donn:

And then you like, think about it.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, Donn, nobody ever told you that.

Chelsey Donn:

Think about it, listeners, you supposedly see a cow every day.

Chelsey Donn:

Now that can be a real cow.

Chelsey Donn:

That can be on a television, a commercial of the cow.

Chelsey Donn:

It can be cow print.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

But the idea is that you see a cow every day and once you pay attention to it, you start

Chelsey Donn:

And I feel like if you pay attention listeners, you'll hear a Jersey joke almost every day.

Chelsey Donn:

Whether it be on television on the street somewhere, it is like

Trey Gerrald:

yeah, there were a bunch of tabloid articles about Cardi B making an Instagram post

Trey Gerrald:

And it was actually like Englewood, like, and then, so then everyone

Trey Gerrald:

So that's my Complaint.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm gonna, um, be more conscious about.

Chelsey Donn:

proud and also like, so let's just like take a quick side note.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know the whole list, but there are a lot of celebrities, famous

Chelsey Donn:

I think like there, like there's a lot of us from Jersey that are going strong.

Chelsey Donn:

So let's rewrite the narrative together.

Trey Gerrald:

I would imagine that the joke is because it's right next to New York and New

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

Like there's other big cities.

Chelsey Donn:

Like if you live like outside of Atlanta, are people like making fun of where you live?

Chelsey Donn:

Like, I don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

It's or I don't know if that works.

Chelsey Donn:

It it's interesting because it's a state that is so close to two large cities.

Chelsey Donn:

I think that that's like the stain of it because, oh, like you can't hack it in New York.

Chelsey Donn:

You can't afford New York real estate.

Chelsey Donn:

You can't, whatever you go to Jersey, like, you know, you, you wanna have a more suburban

Chelsey Donn:

Like you live in south Jersey, I don't know,

Trey Gerrald:

But that it's funny, you mentioned the sulfur trash mail off one of

Trey Gerrald:

So I didn't know anything about New Jersey and one of my first exposures was like going

Trey Gerrald:

And it does smell meanwhile, New Jersey state motto as the garden state.

Chelsey Donn:

for our tomatoes, which are delicious.

Chelsey Donn:

And they're in season now try, you should get

Trey Gerrald:

Everyone do that.

Trey Gerrald:

So it listeners, if you have any opinions or thoughts on New Jersey shame or New Jersey

Trey Gerrald:

I'm gonna own New Jersey.

Trey Gerrald:

Now.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm gonna stop lying that I live in New York.

Trey Gerrald:

Although I did live in New York when we started the podcast.

Trey Gerrald:

No, I didn't.

Trey Gerrald:

No, I didn't.

Trey Gerrald:

I already

Chelsey Donn:

but you did live in New York for over a decade.

Trey Gerrald:

doesn't matter.

Trey Gerrald:

That is all sort of like trying to get clout for something that is

Chelsey Donn:

My mother still says she's from New York.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

like, I mean, she is from there.

Trey Gerrald:

that's my Complaint.

Trey Gerrald:

Hazah New Jersey.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

HAA, indeed.

Chelsey Donn:

Great.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

That got extra heated.

Chelsey Donn:

Um, that kind of made me like, feel like I wanted to get in the ring and fight.

Chelsey Donn:

You know what I mean?

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, well, let's lace up our

Chelsey Donn:

wanted to be like New Jersey verse, New York.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's do it.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, let's go head to head today Chelsey because it is yet again, another versus episode.

Chelsey Donn:

Woohoo.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's do it.

VOICEOVER:

Says that Kvetch.

Trey Gerrald:

So today, Chelsey and I are going to go head to head as we cover both a

Trey Gerrald:

We've done a lot of talking about Yelp elites on this podcast, and we're gonna do a deep

Chelsey Donn:

So for this versus episode, Trey selected the five star

Chelsey Donn:

So to determine who reads first, we gotta flip that quota.

Trey Gerrald:

Here we go.

Chelsey Donn:

Who's guessing you

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, do I guess?

Chelsey Donn:

guess?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm gonna say tails.

Trey Gerrald:

It's tails.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

So we're gonna hear the five star first.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Try.

Chelsey Donn:

What is the topic of choice?

Trey Gerrald:

So today we are both covering reviews from this Yelp elite reviewer, ABC.

Trey Gerrald:

So at the time of this recording C has 665 reviews, 1,898 photos,

Chelsey Donn:

What

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey Donn:

that's a lot.

Trey Gerrald:

and 4,032 friends on Yelp.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

C joined Yelp in 2007, they wrote their 500th review in the year 2012.

Trey Gerrald:

And Amy C has received over 8,000 Yelp compliments and over 20,000 useful,

Trey Gerrald:

Interesting to note useful was their most at nearly 8,000 votes, but don't let that sway

Trey Gerrald:

You'll determine how useful C is.

Trey Gerrald:

So Amy C's most common rating is three stars.

Trey Gerrald:

Amy C's Yelp quote on their profile is quote unquote wander last.

Trey Gerrald:

So with all of that background info, let's go ahead and do it.

Trey Gerrald:

Let's get into this versus battle.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm so ready.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's do it.

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So today I have the five star for C, obviously from Yelp and written by C and today I'm

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

which was selected by Yelp as the review of the day in 2012.

Trey Gerrald:

So this review is for it's for the veggie grill in Los Angeles.

Chelsey Donn:

I love veggie grill.

Trey Gerrald:

The one on Wilshire.

Trey Gerrald:

And this is the review.

Trey Gerrald:

Here we go.

Trey Gerrald:

There's no subject

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

asterisk, 500th asterisk.

Trey Gerrald:

I saved veggie grill for my milestone review because this place is stellar on all levels.

Trey Gerrald:

From the super friendly service to the insanely.

Trey Gerrald:

Delicious, vegetarian fair.

Trey Gerrald:

You can't go wrong at VG.

Trey Gerrald:

Trust me.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm not a vegetarian by any means.

Trey Gerrald:

And it took a while before my BF could convince me to try this place.

Trey Gerrald:

Fake meat, no meat.

Trey Gerrald:

Are you kidding me?

Trey Gerrald:

I try to vegan joint in Santa Monica once, and it was quite tasteless since then.

Trey Gerrald:

I've distanced myself from all those non meat type places.

Trey Gerrald:

Finally, I relented.

Trey Gerrald:

How bad could it be?

Trey Gerrald:

My first trip was on a weekend during lunch, as we pulled up into the back parking lot, I

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, how bad could it be?

Trey Gerrald:

If all these people were going, I ordered the Santa Fe crispy chicken with a side of coleslaw.

Trey Gerrald:

Fried quote, unquote chicken with lettuce, tomato, onion, and avocado.

Trey Gerrald:

It came with a side of spicy vegan Mayo.

Trey Gerrald:

The food arrived, and I dug in.

Trey Gerrald:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Dot, dot, dot.

Trey Gerrald:

What?

Trey Gerrald:

How is this possible?

Trey Gerrald:

This shit was amazing.

Trey Gerrald:

I couldn't even tell it.

Trey Gerrald:

Wasn't chicken.

Trey Gerrald:

Tempe.

Trey Gerrald:

You are now my friend, since this first visit, I've been back too many times to count.

Trey Gerrald:

How can I resist food that tastes good and is good for you.

Trey Gerrald:

Other highlights are the grilling chicken, sweetheart fries, coli, mashed potatoes and kale.

Trey Gerrald:

You can't go wrong with the damn kale.

Trey Gerrald:

I've asked for my sandwiches to be made kale style instead of on the bun, kale lovers.

Trey Gerrald:

Rejoice, I'll be back again and again, this is definitely a successful restaurant and

Chelsey Donn:

year was this written?

Trey Gerrald:

This review was written on April 27th, 2012.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

It definitely has expanded quite a bit.

Trey Gerrald:

expanded.

Chelsey Donn:

It's definitely expanded.

Chelsey Donn:

So ABC gets points for that prediction.

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Trey Gerrald:

I agree.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes,

Chelsey Donn:

I thought that this was a good review.

Chelsey Donn:

I thought that it was well written.

Chelsey Donn:

The spelling and grammar seemed good.

Chelsey Donn:

Coherent.

Chelsey Donn:

I thought it was sort of sweet that they said it was their 500th review.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I know I was annoyed at that for another review, but maybe I'm softening cuz

Chelsey Donn:

I like that they like told us it was crowded.

Chelsey Donn:

And also I really like that they did that opposite of a compliment sandwich for

Chelsey Donn:

I wasn't in like I've been to vegan restaurants before.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm not a fan cuz I thought that was a really interesting perspective for someone that might

Chelsey Donn:

That was like useful and, and helpful.

Chelsey Donn:

And I liked the entire experience with the boyfriend and they mentioned what they

Trey Gerrald:

Keywords.

Chelsey Donn:

keyword.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

The only thing I thought was, was like, iffy, is that good for you?

Chelsey Donn:

Part of it because veggie girl is sort of known as it's like vegan junk food.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like vegan, fast food.

Chelsey Donn:

And so I Donn don't necessarily know that it's good for you.

Chelsey Donn:

That being said, C did follow up by saying that they wrap, you know, their

Chelsey Donn:

So it is possible to eat healthy here.

Chelsey Donn:

So I wasn't sure if I should give a knock for that, you know, because maybe

Trey Gerrald:

Interesting point though, cuz I feel that this whole review is really obviously from

Trey Gerrald:

So I do think that it is very valuable.

Trey Gerrald:

If you find yourself in the same camp, if you feel like, uh, like why would I go to a V

Trey Gerrald:

So I, so I think that's very valuable.

Trey Gerrald:

My question is, is this valuable if you are already vegetarian and you've never heard or been

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, I think it's, yeah, it's positive to hear if I were, if I, I mean,

Chelsey Donn:

I'm trying to think about what is missing from Amy C's review, I guess.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, I do think it was pretty solid if I wanted something else from this review considering,

Chelsey Donn:

Were there photos as well?

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz

Trey Gerrald:

so there's not a photo, but it does at the very end.

Trey Gerrald:

I didn't know if I should read this or not.

Trey Gerrald:

It does say picks dash and then it's like a bit dot Lee.

Chelsey Donn:

so maybe.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh,

Trey Gerrald:

Maybe this is back in the day before you could post pictures

Chelsey Donn:

Do you wanna copy that link?

Chelsey Donn:

And can you copy it?

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Just clicked it.

Trey Gerrald:

Let's see if it,

Chelsey Donn:

That would be hilarious if it was like an album of, of C at veggie grill.

Trey Gerrald:

oh, this, okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So this is, I'm gonna share the screen because this is very bizarre.

Trey Gerrald:

So this actually leads to Amy C's blog.

Chelsey Donn:

Hmm.

Trey Gerrald:

So there are images here.

Trey Gerrald:

It looks like very early Instagram where the border

Chelsey Donn:

So is the blog, are they leading us to a blog article about veggie grill?

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

And it was written the same day, but it's a different, it's not copy

Chelsey Donn:

Is there like a link there's probably a link in there to their Yelp view.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe I, I kind of respect that.

Chelsey Donn:

That means that C isn't just like a blogger.

Chelsey Donn:

Who's trying.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, she is hustling by putting the link to the blog.

Chelsey Donn:

At first, I was like, maybe I'm a little turned off, but then, because the link does

Trey Gerrald:

And then on their blog, it links to veggie grill.com

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

That's sort of, queenly

Trey Gerrald:

are pretty.

Trey Gerrald:

I wonder why they didn't put them on Yelp, Yelp.

Chelsey Donn:

maybe like you said, in 2012 or whatever, maybe you couldn't

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

you think that they're a little shady that they're trying to

Chelsey Donn:

Like, if you,

Trey Gerrald:

I'm just curious.

Chelsey Donn:

has to say then, is it bad that that ABC is using it to draw an audience to her blog?

Trey Gerrald:

I think it's very entrepreneurial,

Chelsey Donn:

yeah, I'm okay with it.

Trey Gerrald:

but given the fact that C has like 2000 photos on Yelp, maybe they

Trey Gerrald:

I'm not sure about Yelp in 2012, but spelling a grammar I say is great.

Trey Gerrald:

It is like, um, indented in really beautiful ways.

Trey Gerrald:

So it's easy to read.

Trey Gerrald:

I think it's truthful.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I think the fact that Amy is leading, like you said, with the negative sandwich

Trey Gerrald:

I've had bad experiences.

Trey Gerrald:

Meanwhile, I was overwhelmingly blown away and now I go back all the time.

Trey Gerrald:

Like I believe

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I believe that.

Chelsey Donn:

And there is also something interesting about the fact that Amy is like, I save

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, obviously we have a One-Star-Zinger review coming up, but it makes me.

Chelsey Donn:

highly of ABC because she wanted to reserve that 500th spot for a positive experience, as

Chelsey Donn:

That's kind of queenly

Trey Gerrald:

Were you entertained here as there?

Trey Gerrald:

Humor?

Chelsey Donn:

I think I did laugh sometimes.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, but it didn't feel genuine to me.

Trey Gerrald:

I felt like you were just like encouraging me as the reader.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe I was just laughing at your reading cuz I really did think you did a good job.

Trey Gerrald:

Thank thank you.

Trey Gerrald:

You know, your first question here was like, what's sort of missing.

Trey Gerrald:

And to me, I, I think that like I get personality.

Trey Gerrald:

It is an easy read.

Trey Gerrald:

I also like, think the impact is like, I'm feeling positive towards veggie grill, but I don't

Trey Gerrald:

I appreciate all of the suggestions of food.

Trey Gerrald:

So I, I don't know that I'm missing anything, even though I don't think there

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah,

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn, I think I might be ready to crown Amy say

Trey Gerrald:

I think so too.

Chelsey Donn:

for this, for this.

Chelsey Donn:

Uh, and I'm just gonna keep in mind as I'm crowning that, you know, I'm gonna, if this

Trey Gerrald:

all right.

Trey Gerrald:

That's.

Chelsey Donn:

you know?

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards in an effort

Trey Gerrald:

We will simultaneously reveal our ratings.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my gosh.

Chelsey Donn:

my God, the Queens are unanimous four and a half crowns, four and a half crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

So I went with four and a half crowns, cuz I feel like Amy C is a Yelp elite.

Chelsey Donn:

I really needed to be a knee slapper.

Chelsey Donn:

You know like I'm hysterical.

Chelsey Donn:

Like it has like, I like a real, real visceral punch for me to give C a Review Queen here.

Chelsey Donn:

But I will say very solid review ticked all the marks.

Chelsey Donn:

I was trying to be hard on C for saying, did she miss something?

Chelsey Donn:

But she really didn't.

Chelsey Donn:

She, she hit everything.

Chelsey Donn:

We would want, her spelling was great.

Chelsey Donn:

There was value.

Chelsey Donn:

There, there was information there felt truthful.

Chelsey Donn:

It felt common.

Chelsey Donn:

And there was an, there was an impact.

Chelsey Donn:

So I think ABC really, she did great on everything, but humor, even though there

Chelsey Donn:

What about you?

Trey Gerrald:

so similar reasonings, but a different reason, different topic here.

Trey Gerrald:

I just said four and a half, because I think it's such a strong, solid, amazing review.

Trey Gerrald:

Obviously Yelp made it the review of the day.

Trey Gerrald:

The only reason I took half of a crown away.

Trey Gerrald:

I I'm very curious about why they didn't post the pictures that they

Trey Gerrald:

I, I don't, I'm not making a judgment call and if I think that's entrepreneurial or if

Trey Gerrald:

I Donn Donn don't know when images were added as a feature to Yelp, but I know

Trey Gerrald:

So, and obviously ABC did because they posted images along with this narrative on their blog.

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm, I took half off, cuz I don't know why you didn't include it on Yelp.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz the images look beautiful.

Trey Gerrald:

They make me feel a little hungry and that's the only really thing That's keeping

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz I want the evidence since you went out of your way to create it.

Trey Gerrald:

So why did you not include it?

Trey Gerrald:

So that's why I did four and a half

Chelsey Donn:

So if me C had put the link there and included the photos,

Trey Gerrald:

Yes, honestly.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Fair enough.

Chelsey Donn:

Great review Trey.

Trey Gerrald:

Why?

Trey Gerrald:

Thank you.

Trey Gerrald:

I love veggie grow.

Chelsey Donn:

I do too.

Chelsey Donn:

I really am a big fan of veggie girl.

Chelsey Donn:

I like the, like you guys remember back in the day when McDonald used to have those like snack wraps.

Chelsey Donn:

So they have like their version of the snack wraps and that's usually what I get.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause they're so good.

Chelsey Donn:

Love a snack wrap.

Trey Gerrald:

all right.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, let's take a quick break.

Chelsey Donn:

let take a snack

Trey Gerrald:

let's take a snack break and get some snack wraps.

Trey Gerrald:

We're gonna order veggie grill on Uber, except we don't have them in New Jersey.

Chelsey Donn:

I'll send some to you.

Trey Gerrald:

And in the meantime, when we come back after this break,

Trey Gerrald:

So when we come back after being satiated with our snack wraps, we're gonna hear

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Do you know Amy C do you think, you know, Amy C do you guys think, you know, Amy C

Trey Gerrald:

well, I know this one starts coming, so I'm a little anxious,

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

see.

Trey Gerrald:

All right, we'll be right

Chelsey Donn:

and hide.

VOICEOVER:

Hold your crown.

VOICEOVER:

We'll be right back.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

It's game time.

Trey Gerrald:

ChelseyBD and on honor of our new found games, I've created yet another game that

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

Is it an elite or is it a PE,

Chelsey Donn:

Isn't an elite

Trey Gerrald:

review or a PE, which

Chelsey Donn:

Ooh.

Chelsey Donn:

I love this.

Trey Gerrald:

you're gonna have to tell me if this is an elite reviewer or if this is

Chelsey Donn:

A ER, if this is a ER,

Trey Gerrald:

a puer,

Chelsey Donn:

Ooh,

Trey Gerrald:

to, um, rhyme review

Chelsey Donn:

I'm gonna do pier.

Chelsey Donn:

I like, I mean, I like reviewer or pier

Trey Gerrald:

review or PE you,

Chelsey Donn:

review or PE.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Yay.

Chelsey Donn:

We all get it.

Chelsey Donn:

Does everybody playing along at home?

Trey Gerrald:

I literally did write this as elite or PE and that's not rhyming.

Trey Gerrald:

That's not the game that we've set up.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So obviously listeners are gonna play along where I'm gonna read something

Trey Gerrald:

And at the end of the third beep you have to say reviewer or ER, So there's

Trey Gerrald:

What I did is I searched through Yelp, both elite reviewers and non elite

Trey Gerrald:

So this is all information gathered from the profile.

Trey Gerrald:

And you're gonna tell me based on those things, if it's a reviewer, that's an elite, or if it's a ER,

Chelsey Donn:

so is this like from their bio?

Chelsey Donn:

Like you're telling me.

Trey Gerrald:

it's all sorts of things you're gonna you're I think

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm ready?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay, here we go.

Trey Gerrald:

So Chelsey it's time for us to play.

Trey Gerrald:

Is it an elite reviewer?

Trey Gerrald:

Who is it?

Trey Gerrald:

A P all right, here we go.

Trey Gerrald:

First one, Scotty w has 61, 5 star reviews and 90 useful votes.

Trey Gerrald:

Is Scotty w a elite reviewer or a P viewer.

Trey Gerrald:

That's correct.

Chelsey Donn:

Yay.

Chelsey Donn:

Yay.

Trey Gerrald:

Good job.

Trey Gerrald:

So here's another one you ready?

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

This reviewer is Emily G there.

Trey Gerrald:

Yelp quote is always in the mood for eating food and they have 79, 3 star reviews.

Trey Gerrald:

Is Emily G an elite reviewer or a PE viewer?

Chelsey Donn:

Ooh, reviewer,

Trey Gerrald:

Wait, elite

Chelsey Donn:

like elite reviewer.

Trey Gerrald:

oh, yes, that's correct.

Chelsey Donn:

I'll say, I bet you that I bet you, they have a lot of photos, cuz

Chelsey Donn:

And because of their little quote line, I thought this is someone that probably

Trey Gerrald:

But that's just 79, 3 star reviews.

Trey Gerrald:

They have like 800 million other star reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Good to know.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Here's another one.

Trey Gerrald:

Justina w Justine W's profile quote is dessert.

Trey Gerrald:

First eating my heart out wherever good food takes me.

Trey Gerrald:

And they have 23 funny votes.

Trey Gerrald:

Is Justin a w a reviewer or a ER?

Chelsey Donn:

Elite review.

Trey Gerrald:

That's right.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, my God, like three for three,

Trey Gerrald:

You are.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay, this one is really funny.

Trey Gerrald:

This is the person's name, less like French, like LS less, or I guess that's Le

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah,

Trey Gerrald:

the hetero homo as in header dash O dash docs, comma ho sapiens end.

Trey Gerrald:

that's their name?

Trey Gerrald:

Less the hetero homo.

Trey Gerrald:

As in hetero docs, homo sapien M has 52 star reviews and 580.

Trey Gerrald:

Cool votes.

Trey Gerrald:

ChelseyBD

Chelsey Donn:

Oh.

Trey Gerrald:

is less the hetero homo as in hetero docs, homo sapiens, M a reviewer or.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh.

Chelsey Donn:

This is very interesting because I wanna say they're a reviewer

Chelsey Donn:

And how could you have so many cool votes unless you're writing so many reviews, but I

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm gonna say, or

Trey Gerrald:

correct.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

You're really doing good at this.

Chelsey Donn:

God, I'm so proud of myself.

Chelsey Donn:

I spend so much time on Yelp.

Chelsey Donn:

You guys so much time.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Here's another one.

Trey Gerrald:

Danielle w Danielle w has seven, four star reviews and four cool votes

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my again, I feel like I'm trying to be tricked.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm gonna say elite reviewer.

Trey Gerrald:

That's

Chelsey Donn:

Woo.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

You've literally gotten every single one

Chelsey Donn:

I'm so proud.

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn don't think this has ever

Trey Gerrald:

Evelyn F has three One-Star-Zinger reviews and 56 funny votes.

Chelsey Donn:

happened.

Trey Gerrald:

Is Evelyn F an elite reviewer or a ER?

Chelsey Donn:

Ooh, elite reviewer.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I really feel like I've studied for the SATs.

Chelsey Donn:

Just like the amount of times I've read Yelp reviews.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Here's another one.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Tory H their profile quote is good food.

Trey Gerrald:

Good people, good times.

Trey Gerrald:

And they have 39 useful votes.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey is Tori H an elite reviewer or a ER

Chelsey Donn:

I think a PE or

Trey Gerrald:

you're right.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

Uh, I have four more, but we have to do them all because I don't know what's happening to you.

Trey Gerrald:

This is we're like we've spent too much time as like partners.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Here's another one so far.

Trey Gerrald:

You've gotten every single one, right?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

This is YNY H YNY H has 13, three star reviews and 36 funny votes.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey is YNY H and elite reviewer, or a PE viewer.

Chelsey Donn:

oh God.

Chelsey Donn:

Elite reviewer.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes,

Chelsey Donn:

Oh,

Trey Gerrald:

what's happening.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay, this is, um, Meki Y Meki Y has zero three star reviews, but has three cool

Chelsey Donn:

oh Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

You're really trying to lead me one way.

Chelsey Donn:

And I Donn know if you're trying to trick me or if you've tricked me into thinking,

Trey Gerrald:

No,

Chelsey Donn:

you were trying to trick me into tricking myself.

Trey Gerrald:

that's one wrong.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, I almost said

Trey Gerrald:

doing so well.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

We have two more.

Trey Gerrald:

Here we go.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Well that was such an obvious PE or I thought must be a trick.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I should've

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Here we go.

Trey Gerrald:

Van end, quote, w.

Trey Gerrald:

Yelp profile quote is I calls it as I seize it and they have 39 funny votes.

Trey Gerrald:

Is van honest a w an elite reviewer or a ER?

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Ooh, God, thank God.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm back.

Trey Gerrald:

Here's the final one?

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Stephanie U Stephanie U's Yelp profile quote is I try

Trey Gerrald:

Exclamation mark and Stephanie U has 48.

Trey Gerrald:

Cool votes Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

Donn is Stephanie U an elite reviewer or a PE or

Chelsey Donn:

I think they're an elite reviewer.

Trey Gerrald:

so this was the trick question, but I think you're gonna get the point.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

Because Stephanie, you was

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

And then they took him away, took it

Trey Gerrald:

but is no longer an elite reviewer.

Trey Gerrald:

So diva, you got 10

Chelsey Donn:

Out of 11,

Trey Gerrald:

of 11

Chelsey Donn:

I'm pretty proud of that.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

That was remarkable.

Chelsey Donn:

I should have gone with my gut on the other one, but it's okay.

Chelsey Donn:

It's okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you.

Trey Gerrald:

That was remarkable.

Chelsey Donn:

If you were listening, how did you do, did you do as well as I did?

Chelsey Donn:

Do you spend as much time on Yelp as I do?

Chelsey Donn:

I doubt it.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, not that you did well, but that you spend as much time as I did.

Chelsey Donn:

That was fun.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

I lo Trey has been creating these games behind my back.

Chelsey Donn:

You guys, I had no idea this was coming just to make that clear

Trey Gerrald:

That's right.

Trey Gerrald:

And you really excelled.

Chelsey Donn:

what a great game.

Chelsey Donn:

I love it.

Chelsey Donn:

Thanks Trey.

Trey Gerrald:

Good job diva.

Chelsey Donn:

And now we're gonna find out if we really know me C.

VOICEOVER:

That Review.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

We are back from that game break where Chelsey excelled.

Trey Gerrald:

And now it's your turn diva.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, it's my turn.

Chelsey Donn:

And now we're gonna see, is this the same C that we saw earlier?

Chelsey Donn:

Or is this a different C

Trey Gerrald:

Hmm.

Chelsey Donn:

I'll let you be the judge.

Chelsey Donn:

This is ABC's One-Star-Zinger review of pep boys.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Is Pepboys the ones that, that has like the Larry moan curly kind

Trey Gerrald:

I think so.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I do love that branding.

Chelsey Donn:

Anyway.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know any history about Pepboys, but this is Amy C's One-Star-Zinger you of pep boys.

Chelsey Donn:

Here we go.

Chelsey Donn:

Fuck these lying assholes.

Chelsey Donn:

I had my breaks done here in July and noticed some weird clanking sound.

Chelsey Donn:

Whenever I was driving.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, I took it back after a few weeks, since the sound wouldn't go away,

Chelsey Donn:

It would be $300 to fix.

Chelsey Donn:

I decided to wait a week later, I went back there and said the noise was getting worse.

Chelsey Donn:

They looked at it and said that I needed to replace the struts and axles in

Trey Gerrald:

Oh,

Chelsey Donn:

WTF.

Chelsey Donn:

So the price went up $200 in a week.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Business must be booming.

Chelsey Donn:

Anyway, I decided not to do the service here, took it to a different auto

Chelsey Donn:

They told me that the clanking noise was from the brake pads not being installed

Chelsey Donn:

Geez WTF.

Chelsey Donn:

So now I have to get new brake pads to fix the problem.

Chelsey Donn:

Explain to me why I paid $200 for new brake pads and rotors.

Chelsey Donn:

If the shit ain't gonna be done, right, I could have fucking died.

Chelsey Donn:

These jerk offs are a bunch of losers who don't give a shit on anything, but ripping people off,

Chelsey Donn:

Thanks.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh brother.

Trey Gerrald:

I think screaming.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm assuming this was an all caps.

Trey Gerrald:

I could have died.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes,

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, that is like that's winning a One-Star-Zinger review.

Chelsey Donn:

It wasn't at all caps.

Chelsey Donn:

It was, I could, I could have fucking died with two exclamation points,

Trey Gerrald:

Oh,

Chelsey Donn:

but still

Trey Gerrald:

wow.

Trey Gerrald:

This was, um, this is reminding me of the, um, what was the explicit review?

Trey Gerrald:

The

Chelsey Donn:

yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

very cussy cussy

Chelsey Donn:

I know Amy C I thought I knew you

Trey Gerrald:

oh, we also didn't even mention this, but we did one of ABC's reviews on

Trey Gerrald:

So if you aren't a member of the Patreon, you, you like

Chelsey Donn:

and you want a little more C in your

Trey Gerrald:

That's how we got to this idea, cuz we thought ABC was so entertaining.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

First of all, I am very confused.

Trey Gerrald:

I am someone that could be swindled when it comes to a car situation.

Trey Gerrald:

So I Donn don't know what a suspension means.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know what struts or axles are.

Chelsey Donn:

Mm-hmm

Trey Gerrald:

So to me, I'm sort of like, wait, what, I, I can assume what a break

Trey Gerrald:

So like who's right.

Trey Gerrald:

Which is very stressful.

Trey Gerrald:

I just wanna zoom out a little bit because how do we know that pep boys is the one that's lying,

Trey Gerrald:

Like I recognize C's they went back and that it was different the second time.

Trey Gerrald:

So that's very, like, I'm just, I don't know what's going on.

Trey Gerrald:

So I Donn don't know if C is correct or not, but I get that C is very angry and very upset.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean the key takeaway here for me and, and it's easy to sort of like miss,

Chelsey Donn:

But the idea is we went to pep boys and we had our breaks done.

Trey Gerrald:

All

Chelsey Donn:

then.

Chelsey Donn:

We notice some weird clanking sound and then we're coming back and they're blaming it on other

Trey Gerrald:

something else

Chelsey Donn:

And then when we go to another, that costs money.

Chelsey Donn:

And then when we go somewhere else, they're like, oh, it's the breaks that are messed up.

Chelsey Donn:

And the brake pad wasn't put on.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

So that's why I think ABC is so mad because like this imminent danger that C was put in

Chelsey Donn:

And not only did, when she went back and said, something's wrong, not only did

Chelsey Donn:

But they were trying to blame other things for the rattling noise.

Chelsey Donn:

And I would imagine I could be wrong, but I would imagine that ABC probably had the next

Chelsey Donn:

And then the car was probably fine.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, now that

Chelsey Donn:

a leap.

Trey Gerrald:

but now that you're pointing all that out, I did miss that detail at

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I had my breaks done here in July is like the key point,

Trey Gerrald:

Well, is that true?

Trey Gerrald:

Do we think that that's truthful or is that shady?

Trey Gerrald:

I think it's probably truthful.

Trey Gerrald:

That would be quite a crazy lie.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I think it would be a totally crazy lie.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean,

Trey Gerrald:

the idea, it isn't now this is a very interesting point because if you took

Trey Gerrald:

They, you go and they tell you it's something else.

Trey Gerrald:

Then you come back, they tell you it's something different, that's more money.

Trey Gerrald:

And then you go to a different place altogether and they tell you that the

Trey Gerrald:

That's outrageous.

Chelsey Donn:

right.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

Can you actually get into a car rack if there's something up with your brake pads,

Chelsey Donn:

you kidding?

Chelsey Donn:

Like, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

You can get into a car wreck if there's anything wrong with your brakes.

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz if you can't like break.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, is that what a brake pad does?

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I think that's like part of, yes.

Chelsey Donn:

It's part of.

Trey Gerrald:

on a bicycle, like the little like P

Chelsey Donn:

It it's part of like the mechanism that makes, that keeps your break from like,

Trey Gerrald:

brake pad.

Chelsey Donn:

a, that's a like needs a new break pad.

Trey Gerrald:

Do you think that's common practice for like these types of places to like install

Trey Gerrald:

Cause C is saying the new place they went told them the brake pads were installed incorrect.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, do you think that they're like also like

Trey Gerrald:

Well, no, my question is, did pep boys install it incorrectly to

Chelsey Donn:

oh,

Trey Gerrald:

tell you it's the suspension and charge you $500.

Chelsey Donn:

well that would be very shady if that were the case.

Trey Gerrald:

What were you get?

Trey Gerrald:

What were you getting from this?

Trey Gerrald:

That it was installed incorrectly and then they just,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, it was installed incorrectly and that they didn't wanna like own up

Chelsey Donn:

So instead of just like owning up to what was, what the mistake was, they were like, oh, there's

Trey Gerrald:

Well, that is a really good point.

Trey Gerrald:

What if, what if it was innocent and then you've come back and they look and they're

Trey Gerrald:

Correct.

Trey Gerrald:

Do you tell the customer that something

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

You just say like, you don't say there's something dangerous.

Chelsey Donn:

Like if, if that happened to me, I feel like, and I was like working in the back

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Like we're gonna take another look at the breaks, make sure that everything is tightened properly.

Chelsey Donn:

Like maybe one of the screws got loose.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Like some, like make, you know, you can say things to not make it sound like

Chelsey Donn:

Like you can explain it a way in a way.

Chelsey Donn:

That's like, oh, that shouldn't be that way.

Chelsey Donn:

Let me look into that for you.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, here you go.

Chelsey Donn:

All better now.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, you know what I mean?

Trey Gerrald:

Or the other extreme where you say it's something completely

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, I believe C in this and I, I think, I believe them separate from

Trey Gerrald:

So that is interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

But I also understand being exceedingly angry about this circumstance.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, are you kidding me?

Trey Gerrald:

I brought this here.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz you're the professional.

Chelsey Donn:

right.

Trey Gerrald:

Do we think this is common?

Chelsey Donn:

Hmm.

Trey Gerrald:

I would imagine break pads are common.

Chelsey Donn:

Brake pads are definitely common.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know if this scenario is common.

Chelsey Donn:

I think it's really hard to trust people that are working on your cars.

Chelsey Donn:

And I will say that this would be impactful for me.

Chelsey Donn:

Like if I read something like this

Trey Gerrald:

yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I had an idea like this place.

Chelsey Donn:

Might be shady.

Chelsey Donn:

I think I wouldn't go.

Chelsey Donn:

Or if I was gonna go, I would definitely like have to bring someone with me that

Chelsey Donn:

In fact, something like this happened to me once, not at a pep boys, but

Chelsey Donn:

And like, I needed to get a new tire cuz the tread was low.

Chelsey Donn:

And then, you know, they're like, you also need a realignment.

Chelsey Donn:

You also needed this.

Chelsey Donn:

You also, and, and like, I just paid for it, you know, because like, I don't know any better

Chelsey Donn:

So you're gonna say, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

So I do think reading reviews for these kind of places is super important because

Chelsey Donn:

So I think it's valuable to know like if there was something shady going on at this location, okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe I'm not gonna go there.

Chelsey Donn:

And I think ABC is gonna impact a lot of people to not go to Pepboys.

Trey Gerrald:

I think that's the impact for me too, is like something shady was occurring,

Chelsey Donn:

Two different

Trey Gerrald:

visits, and then you go to a whole other location and they tell you it's something

Chelsey Donn:

It's the same issue that you kind of started with?

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

makes me feel like I am not gonna go here.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, I do think the humor in this was like calling these mechanics jerk off losers.

Trey Gerrald:

I just think it's like so random, like.

Chelsey Donn:

it was provocative.

Chelsey Donn:

I'll give Amy C that there was, it was

Trey Gerrald:

Amy is like stomping their foot in the sand, wanting attention,

Trey Gerrald:

Like

Chelsey Donn:

again, like you said, on the other one where the other of you where everything

Chelsey Donn:

Like, we definitely had some, all caps moments, but like it was mixed in throughout.

Chelsey Donn:

It looks nice.

Chelsey Donn:

And because C I mean really divided us into paragraphs and areas and

Chelsey Donn:

It doesn't look like a crazy person rant.

Trey Gerrald:

interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, that's very interesting.

Chelsey Donn:

And the first sentence, the expletive sentence is like in all

Chelsey Donn:

And then there's like a two space after that.

Chelsey Donn:

And then we get into the review.

Chelsey Donn:

So it's very provocative the way it looks

Trey Gerrald:

and it's spelled Al right?

Trey Gerrald:

The curse words.

Chelsey Donn:

totally spelled out in the flash, like not hiding it,

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

the only time we're hiding it is, you know, the WTF, but.

Trey Gerrald:

That's a colloquialism,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

And I Donn, I think maybe even though this review, I think will be a turnoff for some people.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I, I would imagine some people don't wanna have to read curse words.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe when they're reading reviews, there's something almost nice about the Braze Inness

Trey Gerrald:

full disclosure.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, I have

Chelsey Donn:

starting at the top.

Chelsey Donn:

So it's like, if you don't wanna read a review where there's cursing well, it's in

Chelsey Donn:

So just skip it,

Trey Gerrald:

but that, but with that, that is a thought of mine.

Trey Gerrald:

Like I do think there is unique, valuable information in this review.

Trey Gerrald:

And I wonder if you would lose that if you don't want to see the cussing, but

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know if that's a

Chelsey Donn:

I, I was gonna say, I also don't know, like, is it a, do you not like it?

Chelsey Donn:

If you're reading a review and there's cursing in it, like, does it, is it a turn off for you?

Chelsey Donn:

Would you not wanna read it?

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know that.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know that that's a majority thing.

Trey Gerrald:

right.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like we're in a culture now where like cussing isn't as big of a

Trey Gerrald:

Also, I don't think we have to be protective of children because I don't think like a

Trey Gerrald:

And then like their like fragile sense of reality is broken.

Trey Gerrald:

You know what I mean?

Trey Gerrald:

Like this is like, like, I think we're all adults.

Trey Gerrald:

If we're looking at this pep voice review, I Donn know that's my prerogative, but

Chelsey Donn:

We didn't do a compliment sandwich, which I usually like,

Trey Gerrald:

no, Amy couldn't be done with that.

Trey Gerrald:

She was, Amy was too mad.

Trey Gerrald:

Amy could have effing died.

Chelsey Donn:

Could have having died.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, it is scary.

Chelsey Donn:

Anything to do with your brakes and your car is, is really no laughing matter.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

That's a bad mess up.

Trey Gerrald:

I think I can crown this one.

Trey Gerrald:

How do you feel?

Chelsey Donn:

I think I can crowd it as well.

Trey Gerrald:

All right, let's do it.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating

VOICEOVER:

to, to school.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, we're the same again?

Chelsey Donn:

Four and a half, four and a half.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I really feel like Amy sees a four and a half.

Chelsey Donn:

Let us know why you said four and a half Trey,

Trey Gerrald:

I just took half off because I am not sure about the cussing.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know where it like falls in the world.

Trey Gerrald:

It doesn't offend me.

Chelsey Donn:

right.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like if.

Trey Gerrald:

Like to be fully a Queen, you would just choose to not use it or like to use like asterisks or some

Chelsey Donn:

find a funnier.

Trey Gerrald:

Right?

Trey Gerrald:

Some other like attack towards how awful this experience was.

Trey Gerrald:

And also because of the whole conversation about like missing the

Trey Gerrald:

Um, but I think the ultimate payoff here is I have a large impact.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I think that this pep boy's location may deal in shady dealings.

Trey Gerrald:

And that makes me feel like, well, I'm not even gonna waste my energy.

Chelsey Donn:

correct.

Trey Gerrald:

So four and a half for me.

Trey Gerrald:

What about you?

Chelsey Donn:

Completely on the same page.

Chelsey Donn:

I just think we could have used a different tactic.

Chelsey Donn:

We could have used our nogging a little more.

Chelsey Donn:

I think I've learned that Amy, C's pretty smart and pretty clever.

Chelsey Donn:

And I think we didn't have to go with the cursing, but again, wasn't that offended myself.

Chelsey Donn:

That's why I went with four and a half.

Chelsey Donn:

I thought it was a, again, another stellar review from C.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm gonna go ahead and say that C deserves this elite status.

Chelsey Donn:

What about you?

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, I think, well, I think what I'm seeing from both of the stories

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

C was willing to go to a vegetarian place, even though they eat meat

Trey Gerrald:

And then be one over one over in such a way that they would return many times and

Trey Gerrald:

And similarly, I think ABC with the negative review is just so incensed in this one specific

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, hello.

Chelsey Donn:

Really the review could have started there, but great job

Trey Gerrald:

Good job,

Chelsey Donn:

very good about this.

Chelsey Donn:

What a firecracker.

Chelsey Donn:

Um, you must be in LA.

Chelsey Donn:

If you are, let's go.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's get a drink.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm gonna take your recommendation though.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm just telling you wherever you wanna go.

Chelsey Donn:

That's where I wanna go.

Trey Gerrald:

good job

Chelsey Donn:

Good job.

Chelsey Donn:

ABC.

Chelsey Donn:

I write my Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

We have reached the most Regal portion of our show.

Chelsey Donn:

Who are you inducting for?

VOICEOVER:

My Royal line.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Today I have this really sweet story that I found online about the Owasso library.

Trey Gerrald:

So this was a news article

Chelsey Donn:

Do we wanna spell that?

Trey Gerrald:

O Owasso O w a S S O

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

So yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Awaso it's an Oklahoma.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So this was a Facebook post on the Oso library back in may.

Trey Gerrald:

The post says thank you to whoever returned this copy of the book, Annie, Annie, to us.

Trey Gerrald:

Have you ever heard of the book, Annie, Annie by Molly Cohen?

Chelsey Donn:

No.

Trey Gerrald:

me either.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

According to the inside pocket, this book was due back to the central library

Trey Gerrald:

So the story here is that the Facebook post went viral.

Trey Gerrald:

And so a bunch of people were like, what was the late fee?

Trey Gerrald:

What was the late fee?

Trey Gerrald:

So they had to reply.

Trey Gerrald:

And finally say for those of you who were worried about late fees, the book

Trey Gerrald:

So there's no way for us to tell who had checked it out, plus the library

Trey Gerrald:

So no worries either way.

Trey Gerrald:

Isn't that crazy?

Chelsey Donn:

That's nice.

Chelsey Donn:

But wait, so, so the book was rent borrowed from a different library and returned to this one,

Trey Gerrald:

yeah, I'm unsure about that.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz they tag central library.

Chelsey Donn:

right?

Chelsey Donn:

And now they're in possession of central library's book,

Trey Gerrald:

Right?

Trey Gerrald:

Wait.

Trey Gerrald:

So they returned it to the wrong place, I guess.

Trey Gerrald:

So did this wait, so did the, did the Owasso library return it to central library?

Chelsey Donn:

That's what I'm wondering,

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, well now this Royal Highness doesn't make any sense.

Trey Gerrald:

I was wanting to induct the Owasso library for being like in

Chelsey Donn:

well, I still think that we should induct the Awasa library for having good humor

Chelsey Donn:

Like I think that's pretty huge,

Trey Gerrald:

I agree.

Chelsey Donn:

right.

Chelsey Donn:

So I think Awaso library deserves an induction and also like, what are they, it's not their

Chelsey Donn:

They're just like being cheeky and fun about it.

Trey Gerrald:

And I do think since they tagged central library,

Chelsey Donn:

They're doing their due

Trey Gerrald:

right?

Trey Gerrald:

They're not like hiding this from them.

Trey Gerrald:

So for that reason today, I am inducting the Owasso library for putting out some

Trey Gerrald:

So for that reason, Owasso library, you are my Royal Highness.

Chelsey Donn:

Love it.

Trey Gerrald:

There's also a little tidbit here.

Trey Gerrald:

I want to include that.

Trey Gerrald:

Although 47 years is a long time.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay, wait a second.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

The tweet says only 46 years overdue, but then the article says 45 years.

Trey Gerrald:

And now this fun fact says 47 years.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Regardless

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe it's just a time period thing.

Chelsey Donn:

Like

Trey Gerrald:

that is not a record for overdue

Chelsey Donn:

oh, oh,

Trey Gerrald:

George Washington, former president of the United States borrowed a book from the New

Trey Gerrald:

In fact, it was not until 2010 that the book got returned after the head librarian of

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, God stop.

Chelsey Donn:

That's true.

Chelsey Donn:

That sounds like one of those, like, you know, how Snapp facts are like sometimes they're facts

Trey Gerrald:

Have you ever had an overdue library book?

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Chelsey Donn:

When I was a kid, I'm sure.

Chelsey Donn:

But like, we used to get in trouble if we had to pay and we would have to take it out

Trey Gerrald:

What do you think about they're no longer being overdue fines.

Chelsey Donn:

I think that's great.

Chelsey Donn:

You know, where I was like, you know, where I was really problematic as a.

Trey Gerrald:

The

Chelsey Donn:

Blockbuster blockbuster.

Chelsey Donn:

I, I racked up hundreds in late fees.

Chelsey Donn:

My dad would be so mad cuz we would go, we would, you know, we would go to rent a new

Trey Gerrald:

right?

Trey Gerrald:

Exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

like what?

Trey Gerrald:

Well,

Chelsey Donn:

my

Trey Gerrald:

in the meantime, if anyone has any overdue library, books just return them.

Trey Gerrald:

It's

Chelsey Donn:

Just return them.

Chelsey Donn:

There's no shame.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

All right, Queen, we did it.

Trey Gerrald:

That is another round on the library.
