Emanuele Pani (00:01.41)

Has been ten long years. That's how long I've been working towards buying the villas. I started there as a handyman, fixing things, maintaining things, learning every corner of the place. And over the years, slowly, quietly, we started buying units. By twenty nineteen, we were ready for the big move. 18 apartments. A tenure dream about to become real.

The first bank told me, start negotiating the contracts. Once you have all the contracts negotiated, come back to us, financing is gonna be no problem. So I negotiated. I signed. I committed. And then that bank said no. And so I called another bank. No. And then another bank. No.

Eight banks. Eight times I picked up the phone and somebody told me no.

And finally the ninth bank said yes. So January 2020, we closed on 18 units. And we thought, well, this is gonna be the turning point. And then March 2020 comes and COVID happens. And the lender we had was an investment banking lender. And so they told us, no forbearance. You gotta pay up.

And we pull through. And this is not a success story. This is a story about perseverance. And today we talk about the fourth pillar. Welcome to CO Mindset, episode nine. I'm Amanole Pani. My friends call me E. Let's get into it. We welcome back, Luca Pani. Hello. Welcome back. Thank you, son. So that was a real story, by the way. Yeah.

Emanuele Pani (02:11.994)

and now we are going to bridge, right? Episode eight, we talked about patience which is the conscious weight. And perseverance is kind of a

A cousin of of patience. Yes. But they are different. Patience asks us to trust the season, as we talked about last time, and perseverance asks you to keep walking regardless of the weather. Yes. And so how do you see patience and perseverance working together?

Related indeed. There is a first there is a a a huge a huge difference. There are cousins, but the relationships is complex. Patience, as we said, has to do a lot with relationship. As you might remember, we covered that saying that you might be distracted in being unpatient for for a situation, you know, for a condition. You might, you know, relate this to

What you were saying about the story with the banks, you might say required a lot of patience as well to get through that. But patience is related to the surrounding environment, one way or another. As we said last time, patient with the individuals, with relationship is an essential cornerstone for how you build your patient. Perseverance is you and you alone. Alone.

In a splendid isolation for for better or worse. Has to do with your focus, with your commitment, with your beliefs. You, you, you. You were alone when you did all the things that you were saying today with the banks. Nobody was I was there. You would call me and say, we got another refusal, Dad. Okay.

Emanuele Pani (04:24.694)

Okay, what we're gonna do? I'll I will continue. And there were only the two of us. And you doing all the job in your dream and persevering in that dream. Actually, if you think about it, the conse the actions, the consequences, the going on a bank after another bank. I remember when you did you know a lot of calls when you were doing ho house sales, you were selling houses, remember?

Or managing houses. Yeah. And a lot of you know, very crowded space in in Florida, South Florida, very crowded, a lot of realtor, and a lot of nodes. And I remember that after all this these banks and and you had signed, I caught sign, yeah, I took part of responsibility, but you signed and and you were very young, okay? That that you were thirty back at the at that time, twenty nine.

And and you were very very commitment in committed in your in your belief. so you went one bank after the other, persevering in the actions. And and that is differ different from patient. Yeah, of course you you will require patient to do that, but it's a different thing, right? I hope I make myself clear. It's it's more of an inner dialogue.

In fact, in patience, the inner dialogue is basically missing, if you think about it. And that's why you are impatient, because you don't have the inner dialogue. In in perseverance, it's a continuous inner dialogue. And that's something in the mind coaching that is essential. And I I know we we teach this, you teach this very well. Every individual is different and it needs to develop the inner dialogue.

Not not only that yeah of perseverance of what that means, what it implies. the inner dialogue which is part of the narrative of you you are what you are not, and now you give meanings or not to facts that are happening. Okay, it's only another bank. Okay. but now are six banks. now are seven banks. Yeah, but this is another bank. And then, you know, but actually by increasing the amount of banks, probabilistically

Emanuele Pani (06:50.03)

You are increasing your chances, not decreasing them. Yeah. So yeah. No, a hundred percent. And the thing is this, right, guys, I never thought about quitting. But it also the reason why I never thought quitting is because the vision and the goal was there. I remember talking to my my client and there's a specific client, Fernando Gulat, which has that become a dear friend, and he was one of the owners that sold me one of the one of the apartments.

And he remembers me as a maintenance kid just out of college. So this must have been when I was like 22, 23 years old. And I would tell him, I'm gonna own the villas one day. And he would look at me and it's like, how do you know? It's just like that's I just I just know this is what my goal is. And it was a goal that was beside me. Right? The villas for me has always been a vision for

For the family and it's always been a project for the family. And I think when it comes to persevering, once you attach it to a big enough why, yeah, your persevering gets easier. Yeah. And I think a lot of the times when you're not persevering is because you let momentarily

Circumstances mean more than they have to, than they have to mean. Whereas for me, perseverance has always been a game of do I want the thing? And if I want the thing, I know that as long as I don't quit, as long as I continue, I will get what I see in my mind. Yeah. And that believe is not from a place of arrogance, it's from a place of experience now. And so

Before we dive deeper, I'm gonna read you guys the quote on perseverance. Not a single drop, but many carved through stone. Engage deeply in what you learn. Practice embodies all. Persist in applying, retrying your beliefs and visions. Theoretical knowledge serves only so far. Transformation requires self-action.

Emanuele Pani (09:08.588)

Daily, often repeatedly. Focus not on immediate goals. Such pursuits are often falter. Aim for lifestyle shifts. Take one step at a time, starting small to achieve greatness. Correct. So the writing opens with not a single drop, but many carved through stone. And

I think most people give up at a couple of drops. And

What is actually happening?

Emanuele Pani (09:49.632)

When you

Fall in love with the process of small consistent action.

You you need to you said it all. You need to have this which is why perseverance is one of the pillars. You need to have this dual nature of things. On one side, and and I want to reiterate this, it's an inner dialogue, is focus, is yourself, is you you you. You must be perseverant, you must be

bold at times and and repeat. You must have all the other pillars that we discussed concatenated in a way. So yes you have to have discipline to be perseverant, no? That's one thing. You have to be patient. The most important thing that for the one that we already discussed, the other three, is the generosity. And you touch upon this, which is paradoxical and counterintuitive. So perseverance is something that you do within yourself.

With the determination of the body and the soul and the beliefs, as we said. However, you are doing this for a higher good and a generous good. Now your perseverance has fuel. So you can apply all your dreams, all all the things you've been discussing, but only

Emanuele Pani (11:28.418)

when you are looking at the much broader goal than yourself, you can be perseverant. And and this actually carries you. It carries you. Because when you when you feel down and you say, look, another bank told me no, you have the the stamina to say well I'm not doing this just for me. The villas were never just

legacy of of the family. I I intended it originally this. You you you took the torch, you carried the torch, and and you did it very successful with a lot of of perseverance behaviors. But you you said it very very naturally is usually in this podcast. you you need to have a bigger future. And again not a bigger picture for yourself.

If if this was, I want to become richer, I wanna make more money, I wanna have this, I, I, I. That is there is an obstacle in in perseverance. Why? Because that depends on on the three fundamental conditions of the human mind that we discuss. You have to have continuous sharpness, in cognition, you have to have a lot of energy, think about this, to be perseverant, right?

It it's it's it's like running a marathon, no, you you that's also perseverance. And and you need to be optimistic, which comes from mood, from having a good mood. you need this d you need these three things align all the time in check together. And if it's only f for you, you know we are in into cycles, so we will go in mom everybody knows this. Some some days are good, some days are less good. But if you have

an higher goal, a a generous effort for others, others that you care about. Sometimes others you don't even know. Sometimes you are building a charity. Sometimes you are building a foundation. That requires a lot of perseverance as well. Right? Sometimes you're building for a family you don't have yet. Exactly. Family you do not have, people that you might you know meet across the street or during your your path, your journey in life.

Emanuele Pani (13:57.575)

the reality is that by doing all this, and this is the final the final goal of all our our talks, you are becoming a better a better you. Which is ultimately what the goal is. Correct. one of the things that I love about the the writing is that

Knowledge serves only so far. Transformation requires self action daily, often repeatedly. It's fascinating to me when this comes from a person that I know has gathered a lot of knowledge and continues to do so. on it as a doctor but also with the other things that you do. And I think it's it's a trap and we're

Walking on the beach, I think it was this morning or yesterday, and this was one of the conversation that we had. I believe that people are overemphasizing education and knowledge, so the collection of it of of knowledge as being educated. And what I told you on the beach is like what I really realized in my mind is that through knowledge, through smarts, through education, is are you able to use the knowledge that you have?

To accomplish the goals in the life that you want. Correct. Are you living a life where you are getting everything you want out of life in through perseverance and patience? But ultimately when we look at the great sum of your life year after year, month after month, there's this continuous evolution, this continuous pulling forward inch by inch in this pursuit of your goal. Because I think a lot of people and and

What I find fascinating is the broker the person is in terms of abundance, not just financially but also spiritually, the more often you're gonna hear them say, No, yeah, I know that. Yeah. Or like I know no that like that's that sounds lovely, that's not going to work. And then you you ask yourself, at least I started asking myself now, because I'm very vocal about the things that I work on. And and

Emanuele Pani (16:17.208)

Whereas before I would be disenchanted or disencouraged when people tell me, that's never going to work. Now I giggle. Like now there is this little little thing in the back of my mind that says like, I know this is a good idea. Just by the number of people that tell me this is impossible for me to do. Yeah. So where is the where is the balance? Because you're somebody that still pursues knowledge, but at the same time, knowledge alone as you

So eloquently said it is not the answer. Yes. Well, knowledge, knowledge will ultimately teach you methods. That's what it does. it it teaches you a way of doing and analyzing problems. And in in this particular moment, it it's interesting.

you if you notice what's what's happening with all this AI and this vast amount of quote unquote knowledge that is available okay but if you have not built a method to study knowledge to develop knowledge to apply knowledge how how would you be able to recognize what these machines speed up

They can take they tend to please you, first of all. So depending on on the way you prompt, they will carry you out of sea and and leave you there. You would have no method of checking where and I say this with great respect, guys, where the quote unquote truth lies. And why do I say this with respect? Because truth it's it's a very complex definition.

you know one one thing is to be truthful, one thing is to be true. So there are there are differences in that. Assuming anyway, you have a method, you can recognize the amount of information that are needed in this moment to pursue your goal. And with all the distractions that we have continuously, the scrolling, the the likes, the the videos, the YouTubing.

Emanuele Pani (18:43.352)

TikToks and so on. one thing that we know for sure is that you need time, focus, concentrate on thinking about certain stuff. Okay. Now, if you are a super genius, you might need less time. I'm not sure about that. Usually super geniuses are the one who actually stay a long time on a single problem. So it's not intuition. Intuition is not enough.

and this is why knowledge is not enough, okay? but in general this type of of level of separation of knowledge is becoming and will become more and more an issue in in the life in the life that we have that we have in front of us in other terms we are droning now in a sea of knowledge

Too much, too many information all at the same time without a method is not applicable. So it means that the the access to inf infinite source of knowledge corresponds to none. Okay. Very paradoxical. You would say this is not possible. The more information you have, the better it is. No. And let me

Give you a final example here. If you have to choose between two things, okay, so there is information A and information B. What is the percentage that you have? And one of the two is right, the other one is wrong. What is the percentage of you getting it wrong? 50 50. 50 50. Now, if you have 100 choices in front of you, only one is right.

Your chances is 1%. 99% of the time you'll be wrong. 99%. You don't have 100 choices in front of you. You have thousands of choices in front of you. Thousands. Thousands of information. Thousands of information they are fed inside your mailbox automatically. th these machines are built to follow you, to track you.

Emanuele Pani (21:09.452)

And you have given permission, by the way. You you because otherwise you cannot use certain apps. So they're tracking you. So now they are reinforcing your ideas. They're bringing you in certain position and gives you and feeds you with certain type of information. But action is required. Right. You are anti va you are anti-vaxed, you'll see all the anti-vax information. You are pro vaxx, you're gonna have fine. All the pro vax information. Before you know, if you don't have a method, you don't have a solid base of knowledge on your

Self, you will you will start thinking about those things as they come to you. And some of them might come to you. I'm not denying you have ideas, you have original ideas, you have brilliant ideas. Where did the seed of the idea come from? So let's go back to perseverance. Perseverance means if I'm persevering in something, all these distractions.

Uh-uh. Are noises. Yeah. Are noises. I like that. And I feel the noises. don't get me wrong. The noises are there. But you say, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay. But I still have to go to the bank. I still have to find the nine bank. Yeah. Yeah. And the perseverance. And through action you get to sip through through the information. The other piece of the quote that I that I enjoy.

Is is the concept that lifestyle shifts versus immediate goals. Yes. And in episode two I told I told the listeners there's three type of goals. Yeah. There's type A goals, B and C. The type C goals are those goals that the moment you say them they kinda scare you. The moment you say them they kinda rattle your identity and and you may hear those little voices in your mind go, Who do you think you are?

Correct. And that I believe that those are the type of goals that you get to go after because those are the type of goals that yield a different self-image along the way, which is how we how we grow. but lifestyle shift, not immediate goals. In a society that is all about immediate goals, what did you mean about lifestyle?

Emanuele Pani (23:34.605)

shifts and why is that more important in the longevity of perseverance versus immediate goals? Well that that that came from from a from a patient that was was struggling basically he had he had a a a a few a a food abuse disorder he will he will he will eat

gargantuan amount of of food during the night and and it needed to to really it was young and and needed to really change this path significantly. And one thing that we realized that he he could be perseverant in in a sense and s and stick to the plan Monday through Friday.

Then Saturday and Sunday, with all kinds of excuses, it will goggle down, you know, 10,000 calories. it will literally empty an entire fridge of things that were unbelievable even to think a human can eat. and and that was when we started the conversation about the lifestyles. And we we we worked through that patiently, trying to

make him understand and I still remember this was twenty years ago that nothing on an acute basis has any significant. What does that mean? So anything you do once or you do s on a on a sporadically as bad or good but they is very democratic as any value for the for the human.

brain and the human body. In particular when it comes to the the dieting and exercise in this case, we had clear numbers for him to discuss. We said look in the in the body weight there are three magical percentages. Okay? And you need to change your lifestyle to affect these percentages

Emanuele Pani (25:57.431)

Significantly and it's very easy, okay? so you weighed 100 kilograms, 220 pounds today. you're very short, so your BMI is very high, 40 and and and above. 3%, 5%, 7%. What is that dog? 3% movement, one way or another, is insignificant. Okay, 103 kilogram, 97 kilogram.

Could be water. Could be water. Could be nothing. So don't don't put your your your crown on if you lose three kilograms on five days. And don't be desperate if you gain three kilograms.

Emanuele Pani (26:46.478)

is not significant no no effect of any kind is only is only it's not even statistically worth mentioning five percent five percent have an influence okay and you should take action lifestyle action because again if you go from five percent to three percent only on a on a base of of you know okay I don't eat for for a few days I don't drink any alcohol I do a

a walk and so on. So no perseverance whatsoever in this thing. That's that's the the the topic of today podcast. it it requires you to move from five to to three again or below that. Seven percent seven percent not only is significant has medical consequences for better or worse. So the moment on a 100 kilogram you lose

Seven kilograms on 220 you lose about 15 pounds, then you have done something significant for your body. In order to achieve this going down from 220 to 180, so losing 40 pounds, and going back to a BMI that was normal, this will require commitment every day of the week. No Christmas, no nothing, no Sunday, no

Because this what happened is that when he was frustrated for reason that, you know, something did not go well, he would fight with his wife or girlfriend, some some deal did not went through, he will eat. strange enough, when something instead was good, he will eat. So he he will have this this this body, this morphophobic. Okay.

Rewarding mechanism. Rewarding mechanism. That was completely so we took it with patience, one step at a time, with discipline, okay? And we we did three things. sleep, physical activity, and of course, food. Okay. And slowly, in a persevering way, it took eighteen months, so one year and a half, which by the way is is the way it should it should be, right? To achieve that.

Emanuele Pani (29:14.082)

And it was done only through perseverance and only through a change in lifestyle. Then we start thinking and we said, well, this is what we really have to change: the lifestyles. So when you do mind coaching, that is what you need to infuse. The ability to change your own lifestyle. Do not do a revolution, because revolution have

have short lived short live and have blood. Have you noticed? Revolution comes with blood. And sacrifice. Yeah, it can be your blood, somebody else's blood. Or both. So this has to be, you know, a a a progress. Another thing that is very important that you know this this conversation is bringing up is this in order to be perseverant, you it's you you you, I confirm, but to have support from others.

That that would be helpful. So what happens when people don't have it? Don't have any support. Yeah, or at least they're they're running on that story, right? Because again, I think support you can find and and sometimes you won't find it in your own environment, especially when you are looking to change change signific your life. You know, l you have to understand guys that as you are hitting against yeah the people in your life, they're not not supporting you because they don't want to support you.

they're not not supporting you because they don't want to change themselves. And so the moment that they support you it might involve that. Correct. But so what what would you tell people? They say, like, I wanna persevere and I want this bigger bigger life, but my you know, but my wife does doesn't work hard enough. Or like my my husband is not doing it. And then you know and and I wanna lose weight, but like they

You know, the kids are always home with the with the cookies and the cakes and and you know, I want my business to run better, but my employees, my employees, they're i I will persevere, but there's all these other people and I don't have support. So how am I supposed to d this is a fantastic point. first of all, you are correct. the support mm rarely comes from the people around you. And actually to even extend a little bit on this concept.

Emanuele Pani (31:34.935)

The more reaction you get from people around you, the more you have the confirmation that you are changing something. They will not react if you are just blah blah blah and you are not changing something. If they suspect you're really changing something, they don't want to see you there because they don't want to change and they don't know that person there. They know this person here. Okay, where are you going?

Yeah, yeah, you're going there, but you might end up in other places. I don't I don't want this. You know, it's too it's too disruptive for me. So it's nowhere is said that you need to find support in the people immediately around.

That's another level. Why do you, not you particularly, want to achieve these results in your relationship, in your financial life, in your health and so on, with the help of people that are not supporting you? I I want you want to change them? Well you're changing you, not them.

you you think by changing you you will change them? Again. No, no, no. You at the center of your life. Nobody at the center of your life, and you at the center of nobody's life. These are the rules. Clear rules. So, to your point, if you don't find support around you or you don't find support anywhere, you carry on. You carry on. That's what mind coaching is about, by the way.

There are a lot of professionals in our space that do exactly that. They give you a an end. They give an anchor. They are a rock in a in a troubled sea, which you can angle for a second. Stay. I'm not moving. In fact, that that is the most the quintessential role of a talented mind coach is I am here. For for how long?

Emanuele Pani (33:46.936)

Whatever. And as long as I breathe. I cannot control life and death. Perseverance. But yes. You will find me here. Lifetime, lifetime. Yeah. When it it dawned on me in this in this conversation how discipline and perseverance are also are also related. So th the pillars obviously they're they all stack on top of each other.

And I find perseverance just like discipline to be a muscle. And and similar to how you you shared that the moment you create a method around discipline, you can create a method around perseverance. And so do we have, do you have, and as I ask this question, I'll think about it myself as well for an answer, is do we have a

method around perseverance that maybe we can share with our listeners that can help them I mean become more as yeah absolutely as we know from from very old schools journaling taking notes set up objectives you can set up objectives for a decade for a year for a month for a week

for for the day. Today I'm gonna do this, to tomorrow I'm gonna do this. You write them down and then you follow up. You don't cheat. Don't cheat on yourself. And if you don't achieve regroup, reset, reanalyze. Where did I fail? Remember, we were discussing this during our our walk this morning.

There is an incredible opportunity. We can make choices, can't

Emanuele Pani (35:47.414)

You can make a choice and then make a choice after that that is opposite of the choice we just made. Opposite. Yeah. I'm going to dinner with my friend. I'm not. I'm going to the movie. I I'm not going to change. You can change constantly. You have the power. I'm gonna eat this, I'm gonna drink a glass of beer or two, I'm gonna drink only water for a week. You you have continuous choices. Yeah. so journally set up an objective.

That has to be reasonable, okay. I'm gonna close this this mortgage in in one shot, one bank, and I'm gonna have a two percent. No, this is impossible. so some things are impossible. That's another important thing. Don't always think the people that say this is impossible are wrong. Sometimes they are saying stuff that if you are able to then draw onto the facts, not the things.

Not the thoughts, not the concept, not the meanings, none of that. The facts. The fact is that today, in our current economic situation, you don't get a mortgage at two percent. It's impossible for right now. It's that concept of impossible because that's again that brings in the concept of time. It's impossible if you give yourself a short runway. Yeah. How many things are impossible if you allow time? That's a that's a whole different conversation.

As that was sharing, I'll share with you guys some of the things that have helped me with perseverance. So there's a couple of things that I've done over the past year that have been important to to me in my own journey. when I came here last summer, I was 119 kilos. in pounds, that's a lot of pounds. I don't know what it is, but it's a lot of pounds. And as of couple of mornings I go forty, two fifty.

40, okay. And and a couple of as of a couple mornings ago, I have been consistently in the 89 kilo range. So that's a 30 kilo swing, so about 65 pounds. And I what I used to do at the beginning, I used to have a note section in my phone. So I used to be afraid of the scale. And then I would eat certain things and I would be afraid of the scale, so I wouldn't step on it.

Emanuele Pani (38:06.464)

One of the things that has helped me build perseverance has been the journaling, like that is saying, but in terms of taking daily accountability, daily check-ins on my perseverance, and then allowing myself to take that a thousand foot view. And so whatever goal it is that you're working on.

I want you to from today, from the moment you listen to the show, find out what it is that action is that you take every day. Maybe it's a set of choices that you take every day that lead to a specific action, a specific metric. Because again, as we talked about last week, you have to be, you get to be honest in this life. As a CEO of your life, any CEO that you know.

looks at the numbers, makes our decision, tracks the numbers, fires people, hires people, cuts products, changes things. So you are that in your own life. But the beauty of that

list on the notes now. Plus down my girlfriend gave me a a Hume scale and so again there's so much stack so I stopped adding to that on a daily basis. But still to now the important milestones. I go in there and I add it. So now I added the other day. Eighty nine kilos, fifteen percent body fat here in Santa

And there is a particular degree of satisfaction that I feel when I get to scroll up and down this list. And so as you're building perseverance, is give yourself evidence of perseverance in your life that you get to look back on. Because again, if you are in your story, it's going to be hard for you to think that you're changing. Whereas if you can gift yourself a new container.

Emanuele Pani (40:01.293)

Where you can hear yourself run your story, but then as that says, then you have a piece of paper that has facts on them. And you're like, hey, my story is this, but wait, give me a second, let me check my facts. I used to have seven dollars in my bank account. Exactly. Now I have two thousand dollars in my bank account. So I know I keep telling myself they ain't doing shit, but this doesn't really add up because I had seven and now I have two thousand, so I must be doing something right.

I used to weigh this much and now I weigh this much and now these pants fit me. I know I wanna keep selling myself this story, but at the same time, shit, it's gonna get hard for me to keep doing this because I have so many facts. And that will build perseverance. And lastly, I wanna bring us somewhere else because one of the beauties that I've admired with dad. that is 66. And healthy.

And what's beautiful, Italian culture, especially Sardinian culture, it's kind of this utopia, this this this island life. and I see everybody that is dad's age. Because everybody's here, right? We walk the beach and it's all people that are like dad's age, and I've known them my whole life, and the signs of father time and mother nature are

are really weighing heavy and heavier on some people and I don't feel so with with that. And there is this this perseverance in application that I'm witnessing with him because he's not slowing down. He's not talking about retirement. He's not talking about kind of putting his head in the sand as a lot of people at sixty six will start saying, right? It's just like this AI thing, I don't need to worry about this AI thing.

That has been using AI for the past three years, he uses it undoubtedly better than I do, undoubtedly better than most of you guys, right? Like he goes into rooms with people that are half his age and they're like, Why is a sixty-six-year-old guy using AI like this? And so this is for me is perseverance in action, right? This this perseverance in living, this perseverance in growing, this perseverance in learning, this perseverance in his health. He has

Emanuele Pani (42:20.428)

the the watches and the workouts and he's like, look, my swims are getting faster, right? So it's this perseverance in in in becoming which I find inspiring and and I and I am learning and ab observing and observing. And so I want you to share with them why. Why that when as as we see it lots of people are like, yeah

to retire and then what we know is that the people that retire. It it's it's the observation and the respect of the experience of others older than me that came before me, people that I I've known all my life and and I noticed that they never stop.

They never stop. They but they don't as you can see, I I don't occupy I I delegate, I don't occupy other people, younger people, spaces. The contrary, I give I give a lot of spaces to younger people because I they deserve it and they're better than than me. You know, people that are thirty-five or or thirty are are incredibly more intelligent than me. But I know one thing for sure, and absolut I'm absolutely convinced of this. The moment we stop thinking.

The moment we stop applying to solving problems, to discussing the things we're discussing now, not only our brain going into sort of atrophy, but the body as well. That really is it's it's fascinating for me. And there are now signs from super agers, as you know, some people that are super agers, in which the characteristics they they have is the fact that they continue to

To work on things, on problems, from you know from playing chess to exercise, to follow complex problems. It's a completely different type of intelligence, by the way. It's not the explosive energetic type of intelligence that we had when we were in the twenties. It's really a respectful

in intelligence, at least for for me, that goes through simple routines, respects the different season of of of life, but still commits to to push the the the you know the the boundaries, the the limit. In not in an hysterical way, not in a friend not not not doing testosterone going

gyms and and clearly being kind of of ridiculous at the verge of 70 years I I of course my my my bodies is what my body is but to show respect for this different age and and believe it or not one thing and I close it here one thing that happens is that by doing this you forget that you have an age. You forget.

How how old I am? I I I don't know. I have to think about it. You know, I am what I am. Mm-hmm. and that's that's enough to keep me company. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I guess you have to be perseverant on that as well. Yeah. I love that. So guys there is a version of perseverance, there is white knuckling it, there is grinding your teeth. And what I can guarantee you from experience is that that version of perseverance will eventually run its course. It would

make you burn out. And then there is a version of perseverance, which is a version that my dad is living, that I am learning, which is that perseverance isn't force. It's just this faith in motion, this commitment to a life fully lived. Not because anything, just because that is your right, your duty, your responsibility to live your life fully. And there is also this element of just

understand that you are like water and as long as you drip on the stone and you keep dripping, dripping, dripping, dripping, the stone will yield to you. And on the other side of that is the next version of your life. And then as long as you continue to drip and drip and drip, you'll keep breaking through this walls, these self-imposed walls. And you'll get to explore all that this life has for you.

And so the only question is not if the stone is going to yield, the only question is whatever you will continue to drop and drop and drop and allow yourself to have the life that is yours as long as you continue to persevere in your pursuit. And with that we say goodbye. Ciao guys.
