Yellow there, ye mongrels.
Speaker AIt's the TTP Field Manual Podcast brought to you by me.
Speaker AIt's Joshy.
Speaker AI'm joined, as always, by the lovely.
Speaker ASmells good.
Speaker ASometimes Johnny.
Speaker AHello, Johnny.
Speaker BOnly sometimes.
Speaker AOnly sometimes.
Speaker BNah, I work pretty hard.
Speaker BI understand.
Speaker ANah.
Speaker AHow are you, boo?
Speaker BOh, you know, getting through Easter bit by bit.
Speaker AHave you had lots of chocky?
Speaker BI have had very little chocky because losing weight is not an easy process.
Speaker ANo, and the Easter bunny doesn't want you to do that.
Speaker BAnd also I have a five year old, so he gets first precedence.
Speaker BHow about you, how is your Easter?
Speaker AEaster's still going, mate.
Speaker AFor the first time in a long, long time, I have managed to have the big, long weekend.
Speaker AYou, me, several other mates of ours were in industries that allow us to have public holidays off and not have to haul ass in a kitchen.
Speaker BIsn't it wonderful?
Speaker AIt's pretty great, but it's been still pretty busy.
Speaker ALots of socializing, family events.
Speaker AWe managed to eke out a hobby day with the other mates the other day.
Speaker AAnd after this we're going to go play more of our crusade campaign, aren't we, Jono?
Speaker BDamn straight.
Speaker B1400 points.
Speaker A1400 points.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AWe've gone up to 1400 points.
Speaker AI was going to ask you a question.
Speaker AAh, yes, my favorite question to ask you.
Speaker AHow's your hobbying been?
Speaker BSurprisingly, I've got stuff done.
Speaker BWoohoo.
Speaker BI've been building terrain using the help of my 3D printer that was gifted to me by a friend.
Speaker BSo I'm slowly putting together a bunch of terrain I've painted, started painting my armies of Parade Force, which is blows my mind, frankly.
Speaker BAnd I'm pretty happy with the colour scheme.
Speaker ALooks cool.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo, no, my hobbying's been surprisingly good.
Speaker BHaving a long weekend.
Speaker BYours?
Speaker AI just want to throw it back to you for a sec.
Speaker AYou didn't even mention the coolest part of your terrain thing.
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker AIt's propped up by drinking cans.
Speaker BYeah, I'm using my energy drink and alcohol addiction to fuel my hobbying.
Speaker BYeah, no, it's a.
Speaker BIt's a whole bunch of like little greeblies and pipes and everything is built around the size of a drinking can.
Speaker BSo you can use the can as like the main structure and save on time and filament and build some pretty cool stuff.
Speaker AClever.
Speaker AIt's really clever.
Speaker BLike, wait till you see my latest project, which is like a bunch of fuel silos that are all like lined up.
Speaker AOh, that'd be real fun.
Speaker BYeah, Some line of sight block and train, you know.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AFor my answer to your hobby question though, I am about one tank away from having 2000 points of sisters built.
Speaker AAnd that will be the project of that.
Speaker AThat phase of the project done until I decide to get my butt into gear for painting.
Speaker ASo that's exciting.
Speaker AI had a snap long weekend indulgent purchase of a night.
Speaker ABut not just any night, an Aeldari Wraith night to sort of plink into my slowly growing mega faction of Aeldari units.
Speaker AI'm just collecting for funsies, but it's.
Speaker AIt's nice to have a model which is Chonk for once rather than little Bebe.
Speaker BIt's.
Speaker BIt's a cool looking knight too.
Speaker BVery skinny elves, man.
Speaker BBut hot damn, it's impressive looking and looks like a blast to paint.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ABesides.
Speaker ABesides the building and lack of painting, I actually have managed to play a couple of games since normal hobby days.
Speaker ANew mate and I had a little training match if you will, where we spread out a normal five round game over a couple of evenings and just really slowed it down.
Speaker ATalked tactics, explained stratagems, synergies of their army and their data sheets and it was really good.
Speaker AFunnily enough, all the terrain that we would play with normally was at a different residents.
Speaker ASo we managed to dig out of storage a bunch of like kids toys like the big castle toy pieces that you would give to like a six year old and make like big fantasy castle back in the day.
Speaker AI think it's called Imaginext or something.
Speaker AJust something that was never thrown out.
Speaker AAnd the scale was perfect.
Speaker BThat's super cool.
Speaker AIt was perfect scale.
Speaker ALike all these little fantasy cartoon castle bits.
Speaker AJust the right height and the right size.
Speaker AIt was.
Speaker AIt was meant to be.
Speaker BNow we just got a 40k eyes them, you know, start cutting into them, putting stuff on, turn them into real terrain.
Speaker ABut before we get into our main topic of today, just want to remind everybody that we have an Instagram.
Speaker AIt's the TTP field manual.
Speaker AWe'll post there at some point.
Speaker AJust follow and then we'll be inspired.
Speaker ABut besides that, we are doing book club as a little bonus episode every month.
Speaker AIsh will be doing Fulgrim at the next one.
Speaker AThat's HH Book five.
Speaker BBig emphasis on Ish.
Speaker AIsh.
Speaker BIt really comes down to how quickly we can both get through the books and fit it into the lineup and what we decide to do.
Speaker BBut expect Fulgrim in the next couple of weeks because I've finished it.
Speaker BJoshi's almost finished it.
Speaker BAnd we'll want to get that recorded as soon as we are both at the same point.
Speaker AIt's a hard one for me to get through.
Speaker ANormally, these audiobooks, they're like 10 to 12 hours.
Speaker AThis one's 15 and a bit, I believe.
Speaker AAnd at least half the book didn't really make me want to keep listening to it.
Speaker ABut then the back half of the book.
Speaker AYeah, the back half of this book is this wild roller coaster that I'm really actually like, hooked into.
Speaker ABut busy weekend.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BYeah, right.
Speaker BAnd I definitely understand where you're coming from with that.
Speaker AShall we head on to our main topic today, mate?
Speaker BSure, let's do it.
Speaker BWhat is our main topic for today, Joshy?
Speaker AAt the tail end of last episode, the Armageddon out of Here.
Speaker AEpisode where we recapped the wars of the Planet known as Armageddon.
Speaker AYou can go check that out.
Speaker AIt's a great episode.
Speaker AHad a lot of fun doing that one.
Speaker AI say we're going to talk about the 13th Penal Legion, aka the Last Chances, but I'll do that next week.
Speaker AThe script isn't.
Speaker AIsn't quite locked in and I don't want to just like.
Speaker AAnd then they did this.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker AAnd then they did that.
Speaker BYou're pretty excited to discuss it?
Speaker AOh, it's.
Speaker AIt's a load of fun.
Speaker AA lot of early black library cheese.
Speaker BCool, cool, cool.
Speaker AToday, we will talk about what's next.
Speaker AWhat do we think?
Speaker AThe factions of Warhammer 40,000.
Speaker AYou know, the ones you can collect and build and play.
Speaker AWhat.
Speaker AWhat else should they get in the future?
Speaker AYou know, as.
Speaker AAs the game continues on, all these armies and factions get things added to them.
Speaker AWhat do we, Joshy and Johnny, think they should get next?
Speaker AAnd that's today's topic.
Speaker BNice.
Speaker BWell, in that case, where do we start?
Speaker BBecause there are a lot of factions.
Speaker ATo talk about before we get into the.
Speaker AWhat should everyone get next?
Speaker AI do have a couple of sort of icebreaker questions for the topic.
Speaker AOh, yeah, Number one, Johnny, what factions do you believe are most in need of expansion?
Speaker ANot update, but expansion.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BThere's two that come to mind really quickly, and one might actually send you for a bit of a loop.
Speaker BOkay, one is World Eaters.
Speaker BI think World Eaters should have got more than one dude coming out in the next couple of weeks.
Speaker BI was shocked that that was all they showed off was one possessed captain.
Speaker AYeah, boil my blood, as.
Speaker BAnd I'm not a World Eaters player, but I felt real bad for all the World Eaters players.
Speaker BOut there who were promised a second wave of miniatures and all they got was one dude.
Speaker ADo you remember after the announcement show, our one World Eaters friend was just going off in the group chat like man, GW blah blah blah.
Speaker AExpletive GW blah blah blah.
Speaker BIn saying that Slaughterbound is a pretty cool looking dude.
Speaker BIt is the other one.
Speaker AYou had a second option?
Speaker BYeah, the other one.
Speaker BI would like to see a second ish wave fleshing out of the Imperial Agents.
Speaker BHa.
Speaker BI feel like their release wasn't handled as well as it could have been.
Speaker BAnd it just feels half baked.
Speaker BLike we have all these models, they're all just like hanging around.
Speaker BLet's just chuck them in a book together.
Speaker BI think if they had given them like an expansion on the range, thrown them in, it would have made for a really cool army.
Speaker AI agree, I agree.
Speaker AFunnily enough, World Eaters was my umaro numero uno number one choice for this question.
Speaker AImperial Agents was my sixth.
Speaker BI mean, let's not forget about Votann, right?
Speaker AThat's number two.
Speaker BI definitely forget about Votann.
Speaker AIn between Votann and Imperial agents is obviously 3, 4 and 5.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ACan you guess what 3, 4 and 5 are for me?
Speaker BEmperor's Children.
Speaker ANo.
Speaker BOh, you're okay with their first cut?
Speaker AI'm okay with their first wave.
Speaker AEmphasis on wave.
Speaker AIf that's the range, then I'm sorely disappointed.
Speaker ABut I'm looking at this as waves ignoring what happened with World Eaters.
Speaker AI'm ignoring the metric of that for this question.
Speaker AI'll tell ya.
Speaker BGo on.
Speaker AComing in Number three.
Speaker AThousand Sons.
Speaker AI think they need a big expansion.
Speaker AThey need something else going on.
Speaker AThey don't have many units.
Speaker BThey can be very boring looking on the table because it's like three or four dudes.
Speaker BI do understand.
Speaker BI just didn't want to be a Thousand Sons shill today.
Speaker AI think, you know, I think World Eaters and Emperor's Children are newish armies.
Speaker AAnd you can't really be like too miffed that there isn't more just yet.
Speaker ABut Death Guard have heaps.
Speaker AThousand Sons came out before all three of them other the cult factions.
Speaker AAnd they're like sorely lacking.
Speaker AThey are.
Speaker BThey're definitely third on my list as well.
Speaker BAnd then what about fourth?
Speaker AHmm.
Speaker BYnnari, that's cheating.
Speaker AIs it?
Speaker BThey are not a faction.
Speaker BThey are a sub faction of two factions.
Speaker AYeah, they need an expansion.
Speaker AThey need to have more of an identity.
Speaker BYou want a new army?
Speaker BThat is what Ynnari would Be is a new army.
Speaker AAll right, fine.
Speaker AI have five options then.
Speaker AComing in at the new number four is Harlequin's.
Speaker BJosh, I know, I know.
Speaker BYou started collecting Aeldari.
Speaker BI get it.
Speaker ANo, I've started collecting Aeldari Quins.
Speaker AGet it, right?
Speaker BYnnari Quinns.
Speaker ALike a third of my Aeldari is Harley Quinns.
Speaker BThat's because that's where you started.
Speaker AYeah, and then they took them away from them being their own army.
Speaker AHence they need an expansion.
Speaker BHey, they got a detachment.
Speaker AA little detachment.
Speaker AHear what you're saying.
Speaker AI hear what you're saying.
Speaker AThat's just what I put down for my question.
Speaker BI know, I know.
Speaker BWe gotta have fun though, right?
Speaker AWe'll give ideas later.
Speaker ABut I have question number two for the Icebreakers here.
Speaker AWhat factions do you think are most in need of an update?
Speaker BOh, that's easy.
Speaker BDrukhari and Grey Knights.
Speaker BIf Grey Knights do not get a Primaris upgrade soon, Granite players might just kill themselves.
Speaker AI think they already.
Speaker AAfter the release window where they got all the space wolves.
Speaker AI went to the Gray Knight subreddit.
Speaker AIt was not a pretty play.
Speaker BAnd all they got was an upgrade sprue for their baby carrier.
Speaker BYeah, man, that's.
Speaker BThat was sad.
Speaker AWe're in agreeance.
Speaker AMy Gray Knights just has next to it in brackets.
Speaker ATrue scale.
Speaker AThat's it.
Speaker AThat's the whole note.
Speaker AYeah, Grey Knights, true scale, they just.
Speaker BThey're smaller than Chaos Space Marines.
Speaker ABut yeah, Grey Knights, whilst you can, you know, grab most of their units, they.
Speaker AThey don't feel quite right.
Speaker AThey're all a little small and a little old looking compared to the other Marines that exist.
Speaker ABoth the good ones and the bad ones.
Speaker AYou figure out who's who?
Speaker ADrukhari, you can get a decent amount of units, but like half the actual army, you can't really grab.
Speaker AYou can't really grab them.
Speaker AWe had a friend over the weekend that pulled the trigger, got into the hobby with a Drukhari combat patrol.
Speaker AReally excited to get into it, and then started looking through the data sheets.
Speaker AHe's like, oh, Beastmaster sounds cool.
Speaker AWhat's that guy look like?
Speaker AAnd I just said, don't worry about it.
Speaker BOh.
Speaker BHope you like Kitbash and friend.
Speaker ABut I have something between Dark Elder and Grey Knights.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BAnd they're not Dark Elder.
Speaker BThey're Drukhari.
Speaker BCome on, we don't want to get sued here.
Speaker AOld school, new school.
Speaker ACome at me.
Speaker ASo, Grey Knights, you can at least get all of your units.
Speaker AJust about.
Speaker AYou can't Easily get all of your demons though, can you?
Speaker BOh, mate, I won't lie.
Speaker BDemons were on the list up until very recently at least.
Speaker AThey have six detachments you can play.
Speaker AAnd they're good.
Speaker AThey keep winning tournaments.
Speaker BIt's just unfortunate.
Speaker AYeah, but that answers the first couple of questions.
Speaker AShould we now spend our time talking about ideas to pamp up these various things?
Speaker BYeah, for sure.
Speaker AWhere shall we start, Johnny?
Speaker AImperium.
Speaker ASpace Marines.
Speaker AImperium.
Speaker AChaos Elves?
Speaker AXenos.
Speaker BLet's start with the easiest one to go first.
Speaker ASpace Marines and beer.
Speaker BWhat do they need?
Speaker BNothing can move on.
Speaker AWhile you would, you know, not be flamed for saying such things, considering the immensity of their range, I think there are still ideas.
Speaker BThere are, but I mean, in the middle of all of these new refreshes and model releases, they're like, oh, by the way, don't worry Space Marines, you still get a new drop pod.
Speaker AYeah, drop pod wasn't on my list of ideas, if I'm being honest.
Speaker BFortifications, am I right?
Speaker AI don't understand how the newly announced Space Marine drop pod, which is a big portable coming off the board piece of your army.
Speaker AThe doors are stuck open in the new model.
Speaker AWhy?
Speaker AThey look so much cooler as just like this pod that's crashed down like a missile warhead, but now it's just like a weirdly open concept Space Marine living room.
Speaker BBecause they want to show all the details they put on the inside.
Speaker BJosh.
Speaker BThey put a lot of work in.
Speaker AOkay, yeah, well, so Jonny, the episode's not let's complain about Space Marines.
Speaker AIt's what could they get next?
Speaker AAnd I have the answer isn't three ideas.
Speaker AIt's not drop pod.
Speaker AIt never needed to be a drop pod.
Speaker BIt did not.
Speaker BBut go on.
Speaker BWhat do you think Space Marines as a whole requires?
Speaker AI have three ideas.
Speaker AThe first one is the most sensible, I think, much like what you alluded to with word bearers and Chaos, the Codex compliant Space Marines, which is your normal Space Marines, they have detachments for the other good boys.
Speaker AYou've got the sneaky infiltrating Raven Guard, the flame throwing green clad salamanders, etc.
Speaker AWhy don't they have at least one or two more generic units and maybe another character such as a Ravenguard Shadowmaster or a White Scar Stormseer, or an Iron Hands unique Dreadnaught, something like that to actually make you want to lock in to like Iron Hands or Ravenguard?
Speaker ARight now there's like one character, one singular character for each of these sort of successor.
Speaker ANot successor compliant Chapters.
Speaker AYeah, you could do them as upgrade sprues.
Speaker AYou could not do them and just have like, you know, this is Iron Hands, dude.
Speaker AYou know, you could.
Speaker AYou could do either one of those, but they haven't really done it.
Speaker AAnd that's a question mark for me.
Speaker BOn top of that, I think it would be a very cool idea if they released and they could do it fairly easily as one kit that can make a series of different characters from the lore, where it's like a very similar body, but it's like depending on how you load it out, this is this character and just like tick off a couple of boxes with one kit.
Speaker AStop.
Speaker AI can only get so excited.
Speaker AJohnny.
Speaker ADuel kits, triple kits.
Speaker BBe like, yeah, it's still only for one faction because Space Marine compliant chapters kind of exist as one faction.
Speaker BBut even what you see in tournaments is you just play Ultramarines because they have the best character lineup and everyone else is kind of lacking.
Speaker BSo I think a couple of kits that can just tick off a couple of boxes for the other factions all in one go, would be a very interesting way of getting these other factions to playable without dropping Primarchs.
Speaker AAnd that exact line of thinking is other episode scripts I've been tinkering away at since we started this podcast, so keep an ear out for that.
Speaker BYou want my second idea for Space Marines?
Speaker AGo on, hear me out.
Speaker ASo people have been pretty frustrated with the whole Primaris replacing Firstborn thing, right?
Speaker BI don't get it, but sure, why.
Speaker ADon'T they resculpt Firstborn models?
Speaker AYou keep your Tactical squad, you keep your Land Raiders, your Vindicators, all those OG Marines, but you scale them up a little bit.
Speaker AYou keep those sort of older armor styles that people really resonate with the whole, like Mark 5, Mark 6, you know, not the brand new modern Primaris armors.
Speaker ABut you keep the Firstborn around because not all of these Space Marine chapters are going to be completely Primaris.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AAnd there's so many people whinging still to this day, but my firstborns.
Speaker ASo why not just keep them around?
Speaker BUh, I mean, I do understand why Games Workshop is moving away from the Firstborns.
Speaker BThey are very old sculpts, and as the scale increases, there's not really a need for them anymore.
Speaker BI do like what they've done with the new Primaris Marines.
Speaker BI just think they need a little bit more personality, which the Firstborn definitely had.
Speaker AYeah, that's my idea.
Speaker BBut yes, if you're trying to keep people happy, Firstborn veterans or Something like that would be a pretty cool little like sub faction.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AOr even just data sheets, you know, maybe they.
Speaker AThey buff each other if you're more firstborn dominant.
Speaker ALike a detachment.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, that's what I mean.
Speaker BLike sub faction detachment.
Speaker BOr what if.
Speaker BWhat if firstborn Marines moved to Death Watch?
Speaker BSpecifically, what if they focus Death Watch into like a firstborn Marine as opposed to what it currently exists as.
Speaker BLike all of the people that don't want to become Primaris Marines because they're veterans of all of this war and they're already so good, get moved to the Death Watch while all the newer guys end up as Primaris to bump up the power.
Speaker AYou know, I'm so glad that I have you around, Johnny, because I completely forgot Death Watch in my notes.
Speaker BWell, we just ticked them off.
Speaker BIt's fine.
Speaker BWhat do they need?
Speaker BFirstborn lineup moves to Death Watch and just like rework the way Death Watch works a little bit.
Speaker AI like it.
Speaker AI love it actually.
Speaker AThat's great.
Speaker BAnd then all of the old fashioned players that are in love with their firstborn Marines still have an army.
Speaker AIt's just death.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AYeah, I think that's great.
Speaker ABrings me to my third idea.
Speaker AOh yeah, A kill team.
Speaker ASpecifically the Legion of the Damned.
Speaker BA lot of people do like the Legion of the Damned and it would make for a sick upgrade sprue.
Speaker AYou don't need more than like a squad of them.
Speaker AYou don't need a character, you don't need upgrade sprues for vehicles.
Speaker AYou just need a squad.
Speaker AA singular unit that has some freaky stuff like feel no pain 4up or whatever.
Speaker ABut you introduce them as a kill team so that every individual can still look super unique.
Speaker BI think that is a very good idea for Legion of the Damned.
Speaker AAnd that's my Space Marine Codex compliant ideas, Johnny.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker BWell, let's bash out some non compliant chapters and move on to the more interesting stuff, shall we?
Speaker AYeah, pick one of the other four non compliant codacy mobs.
Speaker BWell, we kind of already covered Death Watch and Grey Knights.
Speaker AHence why I said 4.
Speaker BLet's kick it off with Black Templar as they haven't got a 10th edition release yet.
Speaker AAh, I have a couple of ideas actually.
Speaker AIt's just one, but it's a joke.
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker BI don't know a lot about Black Templar, but I understand why people think they're pretty cool.
Speaker BThey have some cool looking models.
Speaker AMm.
Speaker ASo Black Templars, what do you think of when you think of Black Templars?
Speaker AProbably some chaplains.
Speaker BYeah, all of that really religious racist stuff.
Speaker AMm.
Speaker AAnd they have a eternal crusade, yada, yada thing going on.
Speaker BChristianity, Spaceman.
Speaker AWhat if Johnny.
Speaker AA jewel kit centered around a Black Templar's chaplain Dreadnought Dreadnoughts.
Speaker BI am a big fan of dreadnoughts.
Speaker AA chaplain dreadnought with just this big, like, skull coffin motif.
Speaker AMaybe like a huge dreadnought style, like Mace.
Speaker BI could get behind this, but the.
Speaker AAlternative build is a scaled up version of the old school Venerable Dreadnought that you could run in other chapters if you so choose.
Speaker ABut in Black Templars, the Black Templar Venerable Dreadnaught is just better.
Speaker BI do appreciate similar, but better.
Speaker BEspecially in the world of, like, releasing 40k kits.
Speaker ABut that's all I have for Black Templars.
Speaker AI think they're in a good place.
Speaker AThey got their Crusaders, they got their sword brethren, they got a couple of epic heroes, you know, they got Helbrecht, Grimaldus.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThey got a couple of unique characters.
Speaker AThe Castellan Marshal.
Speaker AYou only need something a bit sort of heavier, like a dreadnought to really round out what they got going on.
Speaker BAnd I feel like dreadnoughts don't get as much love as they used to get in terms of personality.
Speaker AA chaplain dreadnought would fly off the shelves.
Speaker BOh, yeah.
Speaker BIt'd be hard to keep in stock.
Speaker AAny other ideas?
Speaker BI don't know a lot about Black Templar and I kind of like that idea and I kind of want to stick with that.
Speaker BI think that is a very good idea and I will try not to steal it for all the other chapters.
Speaker AMm.
Speaker BSo let's move over to their green cousins.
Speaker AGreen cousins.
Speaker AWell, this one was actually quite easy for me to figure out, actually.
Speaker BWhat do you feel like Dark Angels need?
Speaker ASo Dark Angels have a relatively rich tapestry of models and characters over the editions they've been around since ye olden days.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AAnd whilst most people were pretty hype around the recent, newer models, you know, the Deathwing Knights, you had the Lion, Azrael, etc.
Speaker AThere's still a lot missing.
Speaker AYou've got the Dark Angels version of the Captain known as the Company Master.
Speaker AYou have the Dark Angels version of a chaplain, which is known as an interrogator chaplain.
Speaker AYou have the Ravenwing Black Knights and other niche Ravenwing vehicles, which are still old, if you can even find them.
Speaker AAs well as the person who leads the Ravenwing Samael on his big speeder thing.
Speaker AHe's an old model.
Speaker AEzekiel, the Dark Angels chief librarian.
Speaker AHe is still old and, like small and hard to come by.
Speaker AAnd then I do have a wild pic as well.
Speaker ABut I'll let you say what you think about those ideas.
Speaker BI was going to say, because I did think about this as well, was Ravenwing Black Knights.
Speaker BI think their kit could look really good with an upgrade.
Speaker BI know it is still a very good looking kit, but it's still a very old kit.
Speaker BAnd I would really like to see what they could do moving forward because it doesn't quite match the new aesthetic that they've gone with with a lot of the Dark Angels stuff.
Speaker AYeah, the Blood Angels, they had a couple of generic things.
Speaker AThey had their sanguinary priests, they had their own Blood Angels captain.
Speaker ABut the Dark Angels didn't really get their generics.
Speaker AAnd just the whole Raven Wing side of the army just doesn't really exist in the modern range, unfortunately.
Speaker AWhich is odd considering they're, you know, poised as kind of one half of the unique style to Dark Angels.
Speaker BAnd I would love a Ravenwing expansion.
Speaker BI think that would be really cool.
Speaker AYeah, that's essentially what my notes boil down to is Ravenwing plus generics plus Ezekiel.
Speaker BWell, Ezekiel.
Speaker AYeah, well, Ezekiel, Ezekiel, you know, he is the Dark Angels, you know, chief Librarian, but he's still pretty up there in terms of like power.
Speaker AHe, you know, would be an equivalent of the Blood Angels Mephiston or the Ultramarines Tigirius.
Speaker AYou know, he's up there.
Speaker AHe's just not up there in the shelves at the shop.
Speaker ABut I do have a wild pick.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AI want you to go onto Google Image or whatever you use and type up the Land Raider Ares, as in God of war Ares.
Speaker AWhere is that?
Speaker AThat is a Dark angel specific pattern of Land Raider.
Speaker AWhere is the upgrade sprue for a Land Raider Ares?
Speaker AJohnny.
Speaker BPretty sick looking Land Raider.
Speaker BNot gonna lie.
Speaker ADo you notice it's plasma cannons and its Vindicator battle tank?
Speaker BSure do.
Speaker AWhere is it?
Speaker BI would be pretty happy with Land Raider with Vindicator crossover.
Speaker BThat's a pretty cool thing.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AMake some sponson turrets with plasma.
Speaker AI seem to be getting my Land Raiders confused.
Speaker AThis isn't the big plasma one, but it's still pretty sick regardless.
Speaker AMaybe you do Vindicator with big plasma turret.
Speaker ABoom.
Speaker ADone.
Speaker AEasy.
Speaker ABoth make it a bit more expensive, but it's tougher and it hits harder.
Speaker ADone.
Speaker AYeah, Big Dark Angels super heavy.
Speaker AThere you go.
Speaker BWell, moving on.
Speaker BLet's talk about the Blood Angels.
Speaker BWhoa.
Speaker BWhoa.
Speaker ASo again, I have ideas.
Speaker BI'm glad because I knew I would be lacking in the department of Space Marines.
Speaker BAnd I am kind of just here for the ride, you know.
Speaker AI got you, boo.
Speaker BAnd is the answer Jump Marines.
Speaker BJump Marines with wings.
Speaker AYou're a little turd, Johnny.
Speaker BI know you're a little tur.
Speaker BI know how to push buttons.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker AYou've just told all of our audiences to turn off the podcast.
Speaker AJohnny.
Speaker AI think the Sanguinary Guard just needed wings.
Speaker AI think the upscale's good.
Speaker AThe spears are cool.
Speaker AThe heads can be painted nicely.
Speaker AJust wear the wings.
Speaker AWhere are the actual wings?
Speaker ANot the little.
Speaker ANot the spoiler fins on your jetpack.
Speaker AWhere are the actual wings?
Speaker BBut also, they didn't get a huge lineup this time round.
Speaker BIt was.
Speaker BIt was nice.
Speaker AIt was hidden in upgrade sprues.
Speaker BYeah, that's what I was gonna say.
Speaker BIt was just very upgrade sprue heavy.
Speaker AYeah, well there's not too many things that came to mind to add back into Blood Angels.
Speaker AThey are a bit less unique in like a range compared to like the Dark Angels.
Speaker ALike they got the bloody stuff, you know, the BAAL Predator, the death company like.
Speaker ABut we kind of still have those stuff.
Speaker AMy thoughts.
Speaker AI have four thoughts.
Speaker AWe'll do three and then I'll give you the wild pickup.
Speaker BCan I give you mine then in case there's crossover?
Speaker BBecause I only really have one for these guys.
Speaker BI would have liked an upgrade.
Speaker BNot anything new.
Speaker BAn upgrade to the Terminator Assault Squad for Blood Angels.
Speaker BMoving them up into the.
Speaker BThe new scale of Terminators with those big chunky claws.
Speaker BI think that would look so cool having like a fast moving Terminator blob of power claws.
Speaker BOh, I think that would look so cool in the new Terminator scale.
Speaker ASo funny you say that.
Speaker BThat's why I had to jump in there.
Speaker BAlright.
Speaker BI had a feeling.
Speaker AI'm really glad you jumped in.
Speaker AShows you doing some homework.
Speaker AHehe.
Speaker ABut my wild pick was actually much like how Kill Team's done the Ashes of Faith with the Chaos Cold and the Inquisition.
Speaker AAnd are about to do the Typhon with the Tyranid mob versus the Servitors.
Speaker AWhy do they not.
Speaker AAnd we've talked about this before.
Speaker AWhy do they not do a Space Hulk Kill Team thang?
Speaker AYou have Genestealers galore.
Speaker AVersing Assault Terminators, of course.
Speaker ADaubed as Blood Angels.
Speaker AYou could use that kit for the other factions of course.
Speaker ABut like Blood Angel Assault Terminators.
Speaker AMaybe they're all the lightning claws.
Speaker AOnly the Blood Angels get the claws.
Speaker AMaybe something like that.
Speaker AChef's Kiss.
Speaker BI like the idea But I would like more than just the claws if they're going to do a bespoke kill team.
Speaker AI'm sure they would have options being Kill team.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BAnd I mean, Terminators are not represented in Kill Team.
Speaker BSo I think having like three or four Terminators would be a really cool kill team option as well.
Speaker BEspecially after they remove custodes from Kill Team.
Speaker AAnd there's also a Blood Angels character, the captain of the First Company, also known as the Archangels Company, or.
Speaker AOh, no, sorry, the company is called the Archangels.
Speaker ABut there is a individual known as the Shield of baal, Real name Arenos Karlaen.
Speaker BI see why they gave him a nickname.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker AHe is a Terminator Captain.
Speaker AHe's got art.
Speaker AHe's had a miniature before.
Speaker AYou just got to put him back in, make him a potential leader.
Speaker AWhether it's a separate kit or part of the assault box.
Speaker AI don't mind.
Speaker AYou put them in, boom, you've got Assault Terminators and you got another character.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker ABesides them.
Speaker AI thought Librarian Dreadnought should have a comeback.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AIt's sort of a classic favorite of Blood Angels players to have the Librarian Dreadnought.
Speaker BThe idea of a Librarian Dreadnought is terrifying to me.
Speaker BAnd I understand why people would like that because I kind of want to seen it.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BI've seen the old one, but, like.
Speaker AIt'S got a Grey Knight Force spear for a weapon.
Speaker AHow sick is that?
Speaker BBut also, as I said before, a lot of the cool dreadnoughts kind of disappeared.
Speaker BAnd I would like to see maybe like a range of upgrade sprues released for different forces that just bring personality and alternatives back to Dreadnoughts.
Speaker BBut yes, I do agree a Librarian Dreadnought would be terrifying and awesome at the same time.
Speaker AMy other idea is doing Gabriel Seth in a new model.
Speaker AHe's still around, but his old model is firstborn.
Speaker AIt's small, it's tiny, it's out of production.
Speaker AIt's Legends.
Speaker ABring Gabriel Seth back and do like a little Flesh Terror supplement.
Speaker ANothing crazy.
Speaker AJust maybe like a specialized version of like Assault Marines that have like the eviscerators or something.
Speaker AYou know, the two handed chainsaws.
Speaker ALike something that's not too out of the ordinary, but enough to be like, yeah, cool.
Speaker ALook at them.
Speaker AThose are Flesh Terrors.
Speaker BYeah, sick.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BThey're called World Eaters.
Speaker BGet used to it.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThat's it, though.
Speaker AThat's my ideas.
Speaker BNo, I appreciate it.
Speaker BThat is some solid ideas for the Angels of Death.
Speaker ASpace Wolves, though.
Speaker BSpace Wolves.
Speaker BThe last of our facts.
Speaker BSpace marine factions that we will discuss.
Speaker BThey are getting a new range and it was just revealed and it's a fairly expensive little range release.
Speaker BBut you know what I feel was distinctly missing characters?
Speaker BWolven.
Speaker BNah.
Speaker AIf people didn't start off with the same word, they're gone now.
Speaker BNo, I was going to say characters specifically.
Speaker BWhat is his name?
Speaker BThe big dreadnought guy.
Speaker AThere's two.
Speaker AThere's Bjorn, who's been around forever, and Murderfang, who they keep on ice.
Speaker BBjorn was the one I was thinking of.
Speaker BBut what Porkenhostos.
Speaker BThey could do a multikit that can build one or the other.
Speaker AAre you reading my document?
Speaker BNo, I'm not.
Speaker BBut you and I hang out a lot.
Speaker AWe do.
Speaker BWe talk a lot.
Speaker BWe watch content together a lot.
Speaker AWe are such, such good mates.
Speaker AMy original notes for Space Wolves was I wrote this document before the space wolf release.
Speaker AThat's how long I've been sitting on this episode.
Speaker ABunch of ideas.
Speaker AI honestly thought they would save space wolves for something in 11th edition because they've done some Blood angels, they've done some dark angels.
Speaker AYou know, I was really thinking they would wait because they also been doing the Chaos Legions.
Speaker AThere's just a lot of marines save space wolves.
Speaker AAlas, they haven't done that.
Speaker AWhat have they not announced?
Speaker AThey have not announced much in the way of the epic characters.
Speaker AYou got Logarn, Grimnar, Chapter Master.
Speaker AStill old.
Speaker AYou've got.
Speaker AThey did actually announce a wolf priest or rune priest.
Speaker ASurprisingly, there was no mention of them having the option to be run as the classic Ulric the Slayer, who's my favorite space wolf.
Speaker ASo if they don't bring him out, I'm never playing space wolves.
Speaker BWere you ever going to play space wolves?
Speaker ANo.
Speaker AFollowing that, you know, we've got the potential for a Wolf Lord epic hero in Chrom Dragon Gaze, who has his own sort of, you know, company of space wolves.
Speaker BWhat a name.
Speaker AWe've got Chrom Dragon Gaze.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AWe have a Librarian Terminator character named Njowl Stormcaller.
Speaker AHe's on par with the other First Legion Librarians we touched upon before.
Speaker ASimilar level, just real Viking style.
Speaker AWe already talked about Bjorn Murderfang.
Speaker AWe have got some wolves coming in, but I think they didn't announce any Wolf riders as a cavalry, which is pretty instrumental to the space wolf identity.
Speaker AYou could have potentially a Wolf Lord Jewel Kit of the epic character Canis Wolfborn, which I'm pretty sure just means teeth.
Speaker AWolfborn or Wolf Wolfborn.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker BWolf.
Speaker AWolfborn.
Speaker AWe are getting some of the elites with the headhunters.
Speaker ABut classically you have space wolf Terminators known as the Wolf Guard.
Speaker AAnd there is another epic hero, a Terminator captain called Rjak.
Speaker ARockfist.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker BNice.
Speaker AThey did announce Bloodclaws, which I think are the initiate style of space wolf.
Speaker AI honestly could have seen them hold them off as, like, a kill team.
Speaker ABecause I think if they are the initiates, they could be a little weaker and go into kill team.
Speaker AA person who typically leads Blood Claws is another epic hero called Lucas the Trickster, who I'm fairly sure has his own novel series.
Speaker ASo, like, there's a lot of epic heroes, Johnny, that there's no mention on.
Speaker AAnd, like, they've had models in the past.
Speaker AAre they getting models again?
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker BI guess you'll have to wait to see who gets shifted to Legends.
Speaker ANot the Legends Graveyard.
Speaker AThat's my most extensive list of marine ideas.
Speaker ABecause of how lacking space wolves were.
Speaker BI'm surprised you had that much for them, honestly.
Speaker AI do my research.
Speaker ABoo.
Speaker BThat's it.
Speaker BWell, that.
Speaker BThat rounds out Space Marines.
Speaker AFinally.
Speaker BNow, we could jump to the Imperium.
Speaker BBut let's mix it up a little bit and let's talk about some xenos races.
Speaker AAll right, which one?
Speaker BLet's start at the top with your current favorite of the xenos.
Speaker BLet's discuss.
Speaker AGot it.
Speaker BAeldari.
Speaker AOh, okay.
Speaker AI've started to put elves separate from Zenos because they've got, like, so much going factions and like, three split factions.
Speaker BHence why I thought we'd start with them because they have probably a fairly extensive list compared to the others.
Speaker BFor you, the answer is, as you mentioned before, Ynnari support.
Speaker AI got ideas.
Speaker BGo on then.
Speaker AShall we start?
Speaker AShall we start with the baby Aeldari factions then?
Speaker BSure.
Speaker AAll right, Ynnari.
Speaker AWhat's their style?
Speaker ANecromancy.
Speaker AThey bring back elves from the dead.
Speaker AThey are a sort of pseudo cult of faith within the Aeldari and Elven society.
Speaker ASome people like them, some people don't like them.
Speaker AThe Lords shafted them, so they're not getting much in the way of overall support.
Speaker AWhat can we do to bring them back?
Speaker AGive them, like, a couple of kits to sort of be like, look.
Speaker ASee?
Speaker AThey're more than just a couple of characters.
Speaker ALead other armies, you know, what could we have.
Speaker AI have some ideas.
Speaker AWe have revenants.
Speaker AThese could be elite necromantic, Aeldari aspect warriors that they've risen from.
Speaker AThe dead.
Speaker ABut they got a bit more magic behind them.
Speaker ANow we have on the opposite side of the spectrum, what could be Drukkari back from the dead.
Speaker ALet's call them Withers or something like Blood Elves or something like that.
Speaker AYou know, as well, they are known to have some Exudites that sort of support them.
Speaker AYou know, they give them little campsites that they can hang out on, etc.
Speaker ASo what have we introduced?
Speaker ADruids, Exodite, Farseers.
Speaker AMm.
Speaker BThat's a pretty cool idea.
Speaker AThose are just my ideas.
Speaker AWe got something to represent Aeldari, something to represent Drukhari, and then a little tease of some Exodites.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BNah, Sick.
Speaker AAny ideas yourself, Ynnari?
Speaker BThis is.
Speaker BThis is your ball game, my friend.
Speaker AHarley Quinzel.
Speaker ACorsairs.
Speaker BWell, you broke Corsairs up as well.
Speaker AI actually didn't for one particular reason.
Speaker BFor Corsairs, I would like just.
Speaker BJust a character.
Speaker BJust give us one Corsair character.
Speaker BBecause they have some interesting characters and have had in the past, but currently we don't have one.
Speaker ASo in my research for this, Corsairs used to have a relatively sizable forge world range.
Speaker AThey would have some flying troops, they'd have some other sort of individuals.
Speaker AWe don't need to come up with much in the way of new Corsairs when the blueprint is already there in their library of models, you know?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYeah, that's definitely how I feel is.
Speaker BLet's get some updates to Corsairs.
Speaker AI don't really have to tell you what's there, mainly because I didn't write it down.
Speaker BThat's fine.
Speaker ABut they exist.
Speaker ACorsairs have models in the past.
Speaker AJust bring them back.
Speaker AIf you like.
Speaker ACorsairs.
Speaker AThe Aeldari pirates that, you know, attract elves of all walks of life, but they don't want to be necromancers.
Speaker AThey just want to sail the Void on their little ships.
Speaker AThey have heaps of stuff out there.
Speaker AIf, you know, you know.
Speaker ADone.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker BAll right, let's get through Aeldari.
Speaker AAeldari or Harlequins.
Speaker BSorry?
Speaker BYep.
Speaker BHarlequins and then Aeldari.
Speaker BEven though they are the same faction.
Speaker AI have ideas.
Speaker BYes, you do, mister.
Speaker BHarlequins come first.
Speaker AYou can't blame me.
Speaker BNo, no, no.
Speaker BGo for it.
Speaker AShow me what you do.
Speaker ASo if you were to do a Harlequin's army, I have ideas.
Speaker ASo we have an avatar for normal Aeldari in the Avatar of Cave.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AWe have an avatar for Aeneid, the God of the Dead for the Ynari.
Speaker AIt's called the Inc, which is a sick model.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AWhat if the harlequins had an avatar of their own, the Fane of Kegorak.
Speaker AImagine an avatar with puppet strings dangling something.
Speaker AMaybe they are emerging from like a mirror or something.
Speaker ABut you can do something really cool with the sculpt where the actual mirror has a three dimensionality to it and there could be like masks behind it inside the mirror.
Speaker AYou know, just a really like visually illusory kind of sculpt.
Speaker AI think that would be so cool.
Speaker BI dig it as well.
Speaker AYou could bring back one of the original Harley Quinn models back when it was Rogue trader and not Warhammer 40K, the high avatar.
Speaker AYou could do something kind of funky with how they do Daughters of Khaine Marathi, where you have the small Morathi and she can swap places with her giant snake form, Titanic unit Morathi.
Speaker AYou could do something like that with the High Avatar and the Fane of Kegorac because there's nothing funnier than thinking your opponent is going to fight some dude.
Speaker ABut then all of a sudden it's the avatar of the laughing God.
Speaker BSee, I actually really like that idea.
Speaker BAnd they have shown that they're open to this sort of idea in like Canis Rex, for example.
Speaker BIt'd just be the other way around.
Speaker BLike maybe it's a prerequisite.
Speaker BYou have to meet in game and at that point she transforms into the avatar.
Speaker BYou know, in the same way that when Canis Rex pops out of his friend, when it dies.
Speaker AAbsolutely.
Speaker BI like that.
Speaker ASome other ideas.
Speaker BThat's okay.
Speaker AI have some other ideas based around the sort of stylings of the harlequins, which, if you don't know, the harlequin troops or masks as they call them, go off of sort of a philosophical approach.
Speaker AThey are either a more wholesome light based troupe.
Speaker AThey could be a more sadistic evil dark based troupe, or they can be kind of this elusive, aloof, Twilight based troupe.
Speaker AAnd I think we kind of need something to really hone in those identities a little bit.
Speaker AIf you were to bring back harlequins, you could have detachments based around light, twilight and dark, much like they sort of had when they were an army for light.
Speaker AI think it'd be fun to focus around some aerial stuff.
Speaker AYou could have aerial harlequins known as mirages.
Speaker AI just came up with this.
Speaker AYou could have ranged harlequins that are known as apparitions because they're so far away you can barely tell they're there for the Twilight, you could have maybe some puppeted Wraithbone warriors.
Speaker AYou know, you could have the wraith constructs of the Aeldari, but maybe they're adorned with like funky masks and multiple arms that are coming in weird directions because you can't quite pin them down.
Speaker AIt's so funny.
Speaker AAnd then for the dark you could have some more fear based constructs.
Speaker ASuch as like little vehicles of the harlequins.
Speaker ABut they're based around like your classic scary creatures like spider crawlers or like snake bikes.
Speaker AYou know, something that's like not quite vehicle, not quite animal.
Speaker AJust to play on the psyche.
Speaker AAnd you could have maybe like a mime, like a deathly mime who is like a melee threat.
Speaker BI would love a character mime for harlequins.
Speaker BI think that is a fantastic idea.
Speaker ALike no weapons, just hands.
Speaker ABut like if you fight them, you die.
Speaker BLike pure psycho energy.
Speaker AWhatever damage you do to the mime, it does back to you.
Speaker AImagine that.
Speaker BNah, I like it.
Speaker ASo that's my own homebrew extension.
Speaker AThe Harley Quinn's right there.
Speaker BDo you feel like we need to cover Aeldari Craftworlds?
Speaker BConsidering one, they just got a pretty sizable release.
Speaker BLet's just very briefly, I was going to say let's just hit the nail on the head.
Speaker BOne of their aspect leaders is missing.
Speaker AHe's hiding in the pipes.
Speaker BHe's hiding in the legends data sheets.
Speaker AKarandras.
Speaker AWhere'd you go?
Speaker BWhere are you?
Speaker BKarandras.
Speaker BThey're like hey look.
Speaker BHere's all new aspect warriors and their leaders.
Speaker BSike.
Speaker ASo my notes for Aeldari are very slim, Johnny, because we've been blessed with a couple of good range refreshes.
Speaker AThey did well, but there is room.
Speaker ACharan just needs to come back.
Speaker AThere are a couple other characters that have disappeared to legends as well.
Speaker AWe have Ilik Nightspear, a sort of exoditish Ranger character who leads Rangers.
Speaker AHistorically we don't have anyone for that role since Illik Nightspear went bye bye.
Speaker APrince Ereal is also another character that went bye bye.
Speaker AThey have a loose affiliation with one of the craftworlds but have kind of since gone off to do their own corsairs thing.
Speaker AWe also have the Forge world stuff.
Speaker AThe Shining Spears, which are the.
Speaker ASorry, Shining Spears are the bike riders.
Speaker AI meant the Shadow Specters.
Speaker AThey are the sort of jetpack long range antimatter rifle wielding ghostly aspect warriors and their Phoenix Lord Iralith.
Speaker AThey were a Forge world mob.
Speaker AThe Shining Spears do actually have A mention of a Phoenix Lord called Dristanta who has never had a model.
Speaker ASo get on that.
Speaker AAnd as well with Forge World they went super heavy into, well, super heavies.
Speaker AThe Aeldari used to have all these mega vehicles that in law are referenced as the engines of Vhall.
Speaker AJust super tanks.
Speaker AYou know.
Speaker AThey're called Cobra, Scorpion, Lynx, just named after animals.
Speaker ABut they are super heavy vehicles.
Speaker ANow.
Speaker AIf you wanted to one of the minor craftworlds IME lock.
Speaker AThat's their whole shtick is building these things off you go down.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker ACool.
Speaker AThat's it.
Speaker BDrukari.
Speaker AOh, a bit more here.
Speaker BI'm trying to get rid of all the big ones so we can smash out a couple of quick ones.
Speaker BRight?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AI just wrote lmao.
Speaker AEverything.
Speaker BDrukhari need a range refresh.
Speaker BWhat they have is it.
Speaker BIt does hold up pretty well.
Speaker BMost of it.
Speaker BThe Incubi is sick.
Speaker BThey have some cool characters.
Speaker BTheir boats are awesome.
Speaker BLike all their vehicles are cool.
Speaker BI would like to see a expansion on the Homunculi outside of one character and like two units, like flesh them out as a sub faction.
Speaker BI think that would be really cool to see.
Speaker BThat's.
Speaker BThat was my go to for Drukhari was if I had to pick, I wanted to see a fleshing out of the Humong, the Homunculi because I think they have some really fascinating lore in a really dark and twisted way.
Speaker AOh yeah.
Speaker BWhat about you?
Speaker BWhat did you anything stand out other than everything?
Speaker AThere are things that I think you really need to put back into Drukhari to give them a bit of the identity.
Speaker AThe Court of the Archon is a pretty beloved formation where you have the Archon and a bunch of the kind of Drukhari mercenary people, for example.
Speaker AThese are real things that used to exist and you can't really get very often.
Speaker AThe Court of the Archon included Lamaen, which is a sort of Drukhari cult of poisons.
Speaker ALike Lady.
Speaker AThere are Medusae, which are webway native psychic jellyfish.
Speaker ALike creatures that are sort of locked into a suit to give them a humanoid appearance.
Speaker ABut they are like psychic parasites.
Speaker AThere is a miniature of that in the range once upon a time.
Speaker ABring it back.
Speaker AYou have the Slith, which are a minor xenos snake people.
Speaker ACan't imagine what the inspiration was there.
Speaker ABut the Slith, you could bring them back.
Speaker AYou could call them the layer.
Speaker AI don't care.
Speaker ABring them back.
Speaker AHave your Court of the Archon Beastmaster and the associated Beast.
Speaker AThe Beast Masters Beast Mast look old as heck.
Speaker ABring them back.
Speaker AThe giant Tantalus big, big cabal boat was in Forge World.
Speaker AJust went to Legends.
Speaker ABring it back.
Speaker BThey can't pull everything out of Legends, all right?
Speaker BWe can't just keep being like Forge World and Legends.
Speaker BJust do it.
Speaker AI say that because people have these models.
Speaker BI know, I know.
Speaker BI'm just teasing.
Speaker AAnd you don't need to work very hard if you've already got stuff to work off of.
Speaker AI'm making GW have less work.
Speaker BNo, no, no, no.
Speaker AHowever.
Speaker AHowever, despite some stuff being missing, except for maybe the Homunculi, a lot of the various aspects have models that are fine.
Speaker AYou could add to them.
Speaker AI don't know exactly what units to add to them.
Speaker AI'm not a huge Drukari lore buff, but there are some epic heroes that, you know, a lot of people go nuts for.
Speaker AEpic heroes.
Speaker AWhether it's a paint project or something on the tabletop.
Speaker AYou can bring big boy himself as Jabail Vect.
Speaker ABring them back.
Speaker AYou could have Lady Aurelia Malice, who is sort of Aztrabail's kind of nemesis, sort of second most powerful, esque archon.
Speaker AFunnily enough, Johnny, there has been rumors of her having a sprue spotted in the wild that has not been confirmed or denied.
Speaker AThere is the leader of the Mandrakes that had Lord Kara Juak, known as the Decapitator.
Speaker AAnd there was a witch cult character known as Baron Sathonyx, who I think was a bit of a rival to Space Wolf Man.
Speaker ALucas the Trickster.
Speaker AThere you go.
Speaker AThere's some ideas, GW off you pop.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker AAny.
Speaker AAny ideas?
Speaker AWhat do you think about that, Johnny?
Speaker BI think it's all super cool.
Speaker BI did.
Speaker BI do want to go back for just a moment.
Speaker BThere is, please, an Aeldari character that I would really like to see.
Speaker BGet a model on the tabletop who that.
Speaker BIt's my least favorite Aeldari character.
Speaker BI want to see Veil Walker on the table so I can shoot her the hell off.
Speaker AI actually left her off waiting to see if you would mention her and then forgot.
Speaker AI did ask her.
Speaker BOh, man.
Speaker AWe just.
Speaker BWe just flew through there.
Speaker BAnd then I was like, hold on.
Speaker BI did have someone noted down for this.
Speaker BThe answer is Veilwalker.
Speaker BThat's my Aeldari pick.
Speaker BIs I want to see Veilwalker on the table.
Speaker ASoz Qigarnal.
Speaker AWe need another Harley Quinn character.
Speaker BThat's it.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BLet's move away from space elves and we will talk about space fish instead Tao.
Speaker BLet's cross Tao off the list.
Speaker AWhat have you got for Tao, Jonny?
Speaker BI want to see more Vespid.
Speaker BI want to see an expansion on Vespid.
Speaker BMaybe like something a little different than just generic bug with gun.
Speaker BI think that overall the T'au have a huge amount of possibilities for these like, beast like races.
Speaker BAnd I think that even if it's not Vespid, maybe give us something other than Kroot and Vespid.
Speaker BGive us one of their other many auxiliary races.
Speaker AYep, that's.
Speaker BThat's all I really have for them is give us more auxiliaries that aren't lizards and bugs.
Speaker AYep, I have that as well.
Speaker AI have.
Speaker AI have a couple of ideas.
Speaker ANothing.
Speaker AA lot of the other Xenos races are very minimal notes.
Speaker ADon't worry.
Speaker ABut yeah, I think upgrade sprues for other aspects of the Tau auxiliaries could be fun.
Speaker AGuardsmen, Votann, Space Marines and Sororitas are all possibly or confirmed to actually have rebelled and gone over to the greater good.
Speaker AMaybe an upgrade sprue for those could be a nice easy way to integrate some new units and also to focus at greater good.
Speaker BImagine a T'au auxiliaries kill team with bespoke races.
Speaker ADo you remember our Kill Teams episode?
Speaker AYes, that was my idea.
Speaker BThat's why I decided to plug it here.
Speaker BBringing it all back.
Speaker AGood boy.
Speaker AYou're a good boy.
Speaker BBut yeah, for the most part, Tao's a pretty easy one.
Speaker BJust give us more stuff.
Speaker AAnother idea?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AGive us the eight.
Speaker AOh yeah, the Farsight Enclaves.
Speaker AHead command.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker ADon't just give me farsight.
Speaker AGive me Farsight and the homies.
Speaker BFarsight and friends.
Speaker AFarsight and the homies.
Speaker ACool.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker AThat's all I had to say.
Speaker BGsc.
Speaker BGsc.
Speaker AGsc.
Speaker BWhat have you got for the Rogues, the cultists, the Genestealer hybrids.
Speaker AThree ideas.
Speaker BOh, three ideas.
Speaker AIdea one.
Speaker AMore mining vehicles.
Speaker AI have an idea in my brain for a titanic excavator.
Speaker ALike the things that you see in quarries.
Speaker AYeah, that'd be sick.
Speaker AJust dripping with bodies.
Speaker BLike a big.
Speaker BA big tip truck as a transport, right?
Speaker AOh, big tip truck.
Speaker AIdea number two.
Speaker AAn Imperial agent's.
Speaker AMaybe upgrade sprue.
Speaker AMaybe unit.
Speaker ABut we're talking like nobles.
Speaker ABut they're a little twisted Inquisitors.
Speaker ABut they're a little twisted.
Speaker ARogue trader in entourage.
Speaker ABut they're a little twisted.
Speaker AJust to really reinforce that Genestealer cults aren't just miners and the underpaid overworked mob.
Speaker AThey're Also everybody else.
Speaker BYeah, they really work their way up the society lines.
Speaker BI could go with the easy one and be like, just give us Mel Strain from necromunda.
Speaker BBut in 40k as like a tech hybrid sub faction of GSE.
Speaker BBut I would like to see like a jump pack version of gsc.
Speaker BSomething with like, weird little grav packs used as, like, mining asteroids that they've recommissioned into jump packs.
Speaker BI think that'd be really cool to see.
Speaker ADo you remember our Kill Team episode, Johnny?
Speaker AGood boy.
Speaker BI've had a lot of Kill Team on my mind recently because that was.
Speaker AAnother of my ideas.
Speaker AJohnny.
Speaker BJust gonna vomit your own vomit back at you, eh?
Speaker AHey, at least you're paying attention to me.
Speaker AThat's all I can ask.
Speaker BLeagues of Votann, obviously we said these guys need a total range, like second wave of release, but super easy ideas.
Speaker BYeah, what are your super easy ideas?
Speaker BBecause mine is very, very simple.
Speaker AI have ideas, but I want to hear your ideas.
Speaker BI want more beards.
Speaker AUpgrade sprue of beards.
Speaker BI feel like, in my opinion, Votann just don't do dwarf well for me.
Speaker BI would like to see either like, head swaps for this sort of thing or maybe focus on a little bit more of the, like, Grimnir way of doing it.
Speaker BI really like Grimnir as a model.
Speaker BIt kind of gives this like, fantasy wizardy sort of vibe.
Speaker BAnd I think him having a unit of Psykers would be pretty cool.
Speaker BI am also a big fan of their Thunderkin, so anything with their little exosuits would be sick to me.
Speaker BAnd then obviously give me train.
Speaker BGive train plus.
Speaker BBut that's.
Speaker BThat's my three ideas that I had for Votann is beards, more of the Thunderkin sort of vibe, and big train.
Speaker ABig train.
Speaker BImagine that's their Titanic unit that they get is just big, long train and.
Speaker AYou can use it as cover.
Speaker AThat'd be cool.
Speaker BYeah, right?
Speaker APretty much just iterating on what you said.
Speaker AI think we could have more exosuit stuff.
Speaker AWe could have automata.
Speaker AYou know, they're not obviously too fussed about AI, these little dwarf guys.
Speaker ASo maybe you have a couple of automata dreads or little knights.
Speaker AYou know, just big mining suits.
Speaker AIn a similar vein to like knights.
Speaker AYou know, they all started from a relatively similar template.
Speaker BLike maybe something war dog sized.
Speaker AYeah, something war dog size.
Speaker AMaybe a big, like, dwarven hammer or something instead, though.
Speaker AThat could be cool.
Speaker AOn top of like the whole bearded thing, I think you could do stuff with the various leagues that they have announced, there's like five or six of them.
Speaker AYou know, one looks a bit more fiery and red.
Speaker AOne's a bit more trady and green, you know.
Speaker AYeah, you could have like upgrade sprues to be like.
Speaker AIf you get this, you've got more of a fire Slayer style.
Speaker AIf you go this, you've got more of a fantastical dwarf, you know, beards, axes.
Speaker AIf you go with this one you've got more of like the artificer stuff.
Speaker AMaybe they got like the kharadron overlords, like metallic face helmets.
Speaker AYou know, just please just give option.
Speaker BGive option, give option.
Speaker APlus and why not have some sort of Necromunda integration.
Speaker AYou've got a really fantastic squat Prospectors range over there.
Speaker AThey look great.
Speaker BUse your models.
Speaker AUse it.
Speaker AEasy way to move some Necromunda stuff by allowing you to play it in 40k easy.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker BNice and simple.
Speaker BMoving on.
Speaker BLet's go from our space dwarves to our space bugs.
Speaker BI'm just going to throw you all around the place so that I confuse the hell out of you with whatever you've got documented.
Speaker AYou haven't succeeded yet.
Speaker ASorry.
Speaker BWhat would you like to see for nids?
Speaker ANothing.
Speaker AI think they're fine.
Speaker BHonestly.
Speaker BI kind of agree.
Speaker BI think they're fine.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AI think you could do some stuff along the lines of the Norn, you know, the big hive Queenie stuff.
Speaker AMaybe you do something maybe with some like fortification y stuff like capillary towers and reclamation pools.
Speaker AOverall though, I think they got plenty of bugs.
Speaker AI don't think they need more bugs.
Speaker AMaybe just some more other things.
Speaker AMaybe you got like some aerial drone kind of thing.
Speaker AMaybe a bit more of a spore mine overhaul.
Speaker AYou know, things that's more representative of the other bio forms of Tyranids rather than just assault bugs.
Speaker BThe only thing I had for Tyranids was give us an update to the Genestealers.
Speaker BThat's, that's literally it.
Speaker BLike everything else is fine.
Speaker BI would have said Ravenors, but spoiler alert, they're coming.
Speaker BSo that, that kinda just leaves Genesteals in that like awkward, weird looking turd phase.
Speaker BEverything else I'm like, yeah, Tyranids are one of the better off lineups in my opinion in terms of like having what they need.
Speaker BThey've kind of just got their stuff together.
Speaker AI agree.
Speaker BOrkyboys, the mushrooms.
Speaker AOrcs.
Speaker AOrcs.
Speaker AOrcs.
Speaker AOrcs, Orcs, Orcs, Orcs, Orcs.
Speaker AGrots, grots, Grot revolutionaries.
Speaker BAll right, we went in different directions here.
Speaker BI wanted Looter upgrade sprues.
Speaker BJust upgrade sprues for Imperial and Xenos and Chaos vehicles to make them into battle wagons and stuff like that.
Speaker BI want like almost like the battlefield trophies, but it's just like a big box of Orc bits to attach to stuff that's very fun and just be like it's bunch of armor plates and spiky bits and pipes and weird looking jet packs and all of that weird Orc loot looted stuff in like one box.
Speaker AI love that.
Speaker BI think it'd be super cool.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AMost Ork players have more fun if they have bits from other projects in the past.
Speaker ASo bypassing that would be great.
Speaker BAnd I think it would also make orcs into this like hybrid looted, get stuff from other things and run it sort of vibe again.
Speaker BWhich is something they used to do a lot of.
Speaker BObviously they moved away from that a little bit, but it still exists and it's still an aesthetic that a lot of Orc players love is the scrappy thrown together mix of vehicles and nonsense.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThat's kind of the direction I went as well with the whole Grot Revolutionaries.
Speaker ALike have the Grots take over the Imperial Guard tanks or have their own like little baby tanks.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AOr maybe like little Grot flyers.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASimilar to what you've said.
Speaker AJust I went with the Grots direction.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BThat leaves us with the last but not least for Xenos armies.
Speaker ABeep.
Speaker ABoop.
Speaker BWhat do the robots need?
Speaker AWhy don't you just go back and look through our catalogue and go for the Necrons Ideas episode from Tomb to Tabletop.
Speaker AWe talk about Necrons for about an hour.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker AOn this topic.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BAnd that's why I want to cover this really quickly.
Speaker BBut if I had to just throw something in here.
Speaker BGive us new C'tan out of Finecast.
Speaker BThat's it.
Speaker BThat's all I'm gonna say.
Speaker BJust get rid of those old Finecast catan and give us updated models on the like scale and awesomeness that is the Void Dragon.
Speaker AHeck yeah.
Speaker AI would be pleased with that too.
Speaker AMaybe a canoptic structure or two as well.
Speaker AAnd I'll be eating good.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAs two players who started our journeys with Necrons.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BLike don't want to fill the whole episode with Necron wants and needs.
Speaker BBut nice and easy.
Speaker AThere's a whole episode about Necros wants.
Speaker BWe did it already.
Speaker AIf you want to go.
Speaker AListen to that.
Speaker AWe did it already.
Speaker AWe did it already.
Speaker AListen to that.
Speaker AListen to the Kill Team episode.
Speaker AGo on.
Speaker BWould you like to guide us through the armies of the Imperium.
Speaker AI completely forgot.
Speaker AWe haven't done them yet.
Speaker BYeah, I wanted to distract you a little bit.
Speaker BAnd that's why I'm gonna.
Speaker AGood job.
Speaker BThrow us back.
Speaker BGive people a reason to keep listening.
Speaker BYou know, they want to hear that Imperium stuff.
Speaker BThey have to wait a little longer and then we'll wrap up with chaos after that.
Speaker AShould I just be pretty quick about Imperium because I don't have so much to say about them?
Speaker BYeah, let's do it.
Speaker AAlright.
Speaker AI'll go through some rapid fires and then I'll throw it back to you afterwards.
Speaker ASounds good.
Speaker AAlright.
Speaker AImperial Agents, I think you have an untapped potential about coming up with your own Inquisitor.
Speaker AWarbands.
Speaker AMake a relatively expert style kit where you can make your own Inquisitor from a bunch of bits.
Speaker AAnd then you have either within the same kit or maybe a separate kit, a bit of a retinue kit in the vein of the Kill Team stuff to make your own dudes.
Speaker AAnd all the stat sheets are super complicated and you have to really think about what you're doing.
Speaker ABoom.
Speaker AThere you go.
Speaker AGood step.
Speaker AImperial Guard.
Speaker AWe just got Deathkorps of Krieg.
Speaker AWe got Ratlings.
Speaker AWe got an addition to Tempestus Scions.
Speaker ACadians are already eaten.
Speaker AGood.
Speaker ABut where are the rest?
Speaker AWhere are Catachin?
Speaker AWhere are Steel Legion?
Speaker AWhere are Vestroyans?
Speaker AMordians?
Speaker ATallarn?
Speaker AJust take your pick.
Speaker ABut I would say Catachin's probably most popular.
Speaker ADo that one first.
Speaker AImperial Knights.
Speaker AWe'll come back to it.
Speaker AAdeptus Sororitas.
Speaker AI put in an idea for more ecclesiarchy.
Speaker AChurchy stuff.
Speaker APenitents, Ministerum Priests.
Speaker AHilariously, the new kill team announcement meets this criteria already with the Sanctifier Kill Team.
Speaker ABut you can bring back Crusaders.
Speaker AYou could bring back Death Cult Assassins as their own unit.
Speaker AWhy not?
Speaker AAdeptus Mechanicus.
Speaker AUmm.
Speaker AHello.
Speaker AHorus.
Speaker AHeresy Range.
Speaker ADone.
Speaker ABring him over.
Speaker AAdeptus Custodes.
Speaker AHello.
Speaker AForge World models all the vehicles in Dreadnaughts.
Speaker APut them into plastic.
Speaker AGo.
Speaker ASisters of Silence.
Speaker AYou could add a couple of HQs like Abyssal Knights or the Raptora Cadre.
Speaker AMore on that later.
Speaker AImperial Knights.
Speaker AWe're back to it now.
Speaker AWhat about some foot soldiers, Jonny?
Speaker AWhat if we went with a whole sort of medieval approach?
Speaker AWe could have bannermen.
Speaker AWe could have blacksmiths which improve weapons.
Speaker AIf they're, you know, standing next to the knight tinkering away.
Speaker AArmor is the opposite side of the coin.
Speaker AThey're like your tech priest version.
Speaker AWe could have a Seneschal to improve oc.
Speaker AWe could have Falconers to help with a new indirect Fire Knight.
Speaker AStuff like that.
Speaker AMedieval Imperial Knights.
Speaker AThat was my idea.
Speaker AWhat you think?
Speaker BAh, I'm sitting here cursing at myself for not going first because you hit a couple of my nails.
Speaker BBut sure, let's rapid fire as well, shall we?
Speaker BAdeptus Sororitus.
Speaker BGive me some cool look.
Speaker BThey have so many cool characters.
Speaker BI want to see like a bigger dread naughty style, like super penitent engine.
Speaker BSomething really cool covered in stuff.
Speaker BMaybe it's like two or three people attached, all in pain custodes.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BForge World already did it for you.
Speaker BJust give us plastic bottles.
Speaker BThey have so many cool vehicles and half of their range and are already reliant on Forge World.
Speaker BEasy wins.
Speaker BMechanicus, as you said, just give us the automatons from 30k.
Speaker BNice and easy.
Speaker BAstra Militarum Catachan is the correct answer.
Speaker BI would like to see Steel Legion.
Speaker BI think they have a really cool thing and I like big tanks.
Speaker BImperial agents.
Speaker BI want to see an army rule.
Speaker AYeah, good one.
Speaker BThat's.
Speaker BI mean, just actually flesh them out as a full army and not as a supplement.
Speaker BNot as half a supplement because they put more effort into their space marine supplements.
Speaker BImperial Knights, Yes.
Speaker BI want like futuristic medieval people.
Speaker BI want to see the peasants and the blacksmiths and like all of these things, like brought forward into this like almost steampunky medieval feel.
Speaker BI think that would be really cool having a bunch of supporting characters, some like really crappy peasant cultist sort of vibes and just have like a bunch of little dudes running around in amongst your big knights.
Speaker BI think that's exactly what they need and it would help diversify them from just being Canis Rex with Imperial agents.
Speaker BBut yeah, no, that's.
Speaker BThat's the armies of the Imperium.
Speaker BMost of them are covered, but most of them are covered by other ranges that they're doing in other games.
Speaker BAnd I think that if we wanted to, we could even go as far as saying Astra Militarum.
Speaker BGive them super heavies from 30k.
Speaker BThere's so many tanks, dude.
Speaker ALike a Malkador and Furnace tank.
Speaker BImagine Melkador in 40k.
Speaker BLike I could cover almost all of the armies of the Imperium by just saying 30k.
Speaker BBrought forward.
Speaker AWhat a concept.
Speaker BNow we get to my looove.
Speaker AWell, since I took point on Imperium, you should definitely take point on Chaos.
Speaker BLet's talk about Chaos.
Speaker BI am going to tick off the first box, which is Chaos Demons.
Speaker BI don't necessarily think they need much.
Speaker BI would like to see a couple more undivided demons.
Speaker BMaybe like a battle line specifically for undivided.
Speaker BEverything else, like they have a pretty fleshed out range and I think that there's a couple of things happening in AOS that they could bring over.
Speaker BBut for the most part, like knowing we're not getting a codex for them, I kind of put them a little on the wayside and they have so many detachments at the moment that more.
Speaker BIt's more a balancing issue than anything else.
Speaker BAlthough availability of models is a problem.
Speaker BCsm I would like to see a supplemental codex in the similar way that we got for Space Marines.
Speaker BI want to see.
Speaker BIt doesn't even have to be like this is specifically the word bearers codex.
Speaker BLike just tick off a couple new detachments with different stuff and give them all a couple of models.
Speaker BLike just flesh out some of the basic warbands.
Speaker BI think that'd be cool for Death Guard.
Speaker BI don't really know what they need.
Speaker BI think Death Guard are fine.
Speaker BI don't think they need anything new.
Speaker BI feel like if anything, give them a secondary or like another battle line unit that can share out some of their characters.
Speaker BBecause at the moment they've got like 50 characters that all go into one unit.
Speaker BAnd I think diversifying that a little bit would make some nice choices.
Speaker BEmperor's Children.
Speaker BThey just need more stuff.
Speaker BGive them back some of the Chaos Space Marine generic vehicles is the easiest way I can think to put that one.
Speaker BWorld Eaters.
Speaker BWorld Eaters got shafted and they need a lot.
Speaker BThey need a total new range and I can't cover that right now in just this.
Speaker BBut give us some mounted units, maybe something aerial and a bespoke Terminator squad and I would be pretty happy with what that accomplishes in terms of their codex.
Speaker BThousand Sons.
Speaker BThousand Sons need some anti tank.
Speaker BOutside of Magnus at the moment you feel like you have to run Magnus because he's your only real way of dealing with big stuff.
Speaker BAnd while Magnus is sick, I would like to see something else that can deal with tanks and like those big units.
Speaker BBecause outside of that you've got your infantry covered pretty well.
Speaker BMaybe like a big library like Sorcerer version of a Dreadnought, but specifically them.
Speaker BOr a bigger robot than the secateurs that we just got, but with psychic powers.
Speaker BI think that'd be cool.
Speaker BChaos Knights.
Speaker BI don't think Chaos Knights need foot soldiers right now.
Speaker BIf you want foot soldiers, you can run your cult.
Speaker BThey also have access to a lot of units and the demons.
Speaker BI would like to, if we were going to go down the realm of like a small human like unit, maybe pulling from Dark Mech and going with like tech thralls or something like that.
Speaker BOtherwise I would like to see a medium knight, something between war dogs and questoris or a different pattern of knight.
Speaker BBut that's, that's what I've got for Chaos in a very quick and roundabout way of doing it, seeing as we spent so much time in the first half.
Speaker ASpace Marines, man.
Speaker BWhat about you?
Speaker AI actually have a surprising amount of ideas for most of these things.
Speaker BOh, so did I.
Speaker BBut I didn't want to go too in depth.
Speaker BBut we can, we can wrap back around and discuss if you've got some ideas.
Speaker BI'm happy to hear them.
Speaker AOh, absolutely.
Speaker AWe don't need to kneecap this episode if we don't.
Speaker AIf we don't need to.
Speaker BNo.
Speaker ABut I got some ideas for just about everybody.
Speaker AAll right, who do you want to hear first?
Speaker BLet's start with Demons.
Speaker ADemons.
Speaker ABesides bringing some of them back, I think Undivided Demons need their, their time, just like you've said.
Speaker AI think before they announced Shadow Legion, it would have been the perfect way to bring back Bellacor's relevance with the Shadow Army.
Speaker AI looked at demons range across its.
Speaker AIts existence.
Speaker AHorus Heresy has something known as Demons of the Ruins Storm.
Speaker AThey were the first sort of demons the Imperium kind of met, but they weren't really one of the four.
Speaker AThey were the, the ambiguous middle ground between Chaos.
Speaker ASo I had a few ideas.
Speaker AWe could bring in Shrikes, which are Bat Winged flying or even cavalry options.
Speaker BOh, that's cool.
Speaker ABrutes, which are exactly as you would think.
Speaker AJust these lumbering hulking things as well some, you know, greater Undivided demons known as Behemoths.
Speaker AThink like the Diablo Lords.
Speaker AOh yeah, that was Chaos Demons.
Speaker BYeah, I think.
Speaker BYeah, I totally agree.
Speaker BFleshing out Chaos Undivided would be a really cool way to do demons in the future if we wanted to talk about like range refreshes.
Speaker BHot damn, do they have some old models?
Speaker ASo who do you want to hear next?
Speaker BLet's discuss moving from Undivided Demons.
Speaker BUndivided Chaos Space Marines.
Speaker BWhat have you got for the generic csm?
Speaker AI think what they did with the Nemesis Claw kill team was a perfect way to get some of those lesser represented warbands, you know, into the spotlight a bit.
Speaker AWhy don't we have an Alpha Legion 1 or an Iron Warriors 1.
Speaker AThey'd be quite easy to do.
Speaker AThat's really all I had in mind was either a kill team or a Legion upgrade sprue.
Speaker AThey are starting or they're not starting.
Speaker AThey've got a couple of books in a series known as Renegades right now, which are novels focusing around the sort of new players on the block of the Chaos Legions.
Speaker AWe had the Harrowmaster, which is Solomon Akura, who is now wielding the Spear of Alpharius.
Speaker BNice.
Speaker AThe Pale Spear, I believe it's called.
Speaker ASo we could easily have Solomon Achara as a character.
Speaker BI would honestly just love a character for each of the Detachment themed legions.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThe second book in Renegades was the Lords of Excess.
Speaker ASo an Emperor's Children character known as Zantine, who is the lord of a warband known as the Adored.
Speaker AAnd I think you could do Xantine and the Adored for Emperor's Children, as you mentioned in our Emperor's Children reaction episode.
Speaker AGo.
Speaker AListen.
Speaker ALike a old style of Emperor's Children.
Speaker AThe pretty boys who aren't super twisted.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ABecause they want to be adored.
Speaker AThey don't want to be the perfectionist as.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThey don't want to be seen as the crazy, you know, cousins of.
Speaker AOf what's going on at the moment.
Speaker AThey want to be remembered for the old ways.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker ABut that's all I really had for csm.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker BI love that.
Speaker AI do have a.
Speaker AAn asterisk for Chaos Space Marines.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AWhich is you could, if you really wanted to do Agents of Imperium style.
Speaker ABut go Agents of Chaos.
Speaker AA couple of more kill teams or other units, and you could have the Dark Mirror, the Agents of Chaos, or the Lost and the Damned.
Speaker AThat's an idea.
Speaker BSure is.
Speaker BSure is.
Speaker BDid you have anything for Death Guard?
Speaker ASure did.
Speaker AGood.
Speaker BBecause I.
Speaker BThat was one of the ones I had the most trouble with deciding what they needed.
Speaker BTheir range just looks so good.
Speaker AI had a look through some of the old units that was ran by the Death Guard in the Great Crusade and the early Horus Heresy.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AI have a few ideas, though.
Speaker AWe could go with a unit I'm calling the Grave Wardens, a heavy weapon.
Speaker ATerminator Squad.
Speaker ACloser, resembling Obliterators, which seems quite Death Guardy if you think about it.
Speaker AWe could have the Mortis Poisoners, who are Chemical Warfare infantry.
Speaker AThey could be like a Torrent unit if you wanted.
Speaker AAnd you could, you know, have them be led more specifically by character.
Speaker ASo it's not oops or Plague Marines, you could have, like, maybe the purifier go with them, but also bombardiers flying overhead, not with jump packs, but janky turbines that are fused to the Marines and have a little bit of a trypophobia with, like, flies and other insects coming out of the turbine and.
Speaker BYeah, cool.
Speaker AWith like, grenades and stuff.
Speaker ALike fly over units and do mortal wounds whoever they flew over.
Speaker AAnother idea, though.
Speaker AI actually have three more ideas.
Speaker AHot damn.
Speaker BHot damn.
Speaker BYou went deep on Death Guard.
Speaker AAn aircraft zeppelin that expands contagion range, but instead of being a zeppelin, it's called the Flesh Bag Icky.
Speaker BI love it.
Speaker BI do like the idea of zeppelins for Death Guard, though.
Speaker BI think that's really flavorful.
Speaker BWell played.
Speaker ADieselpunk was my idea for all of these.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker AWe could bring back the old nurgle plague toads, but you can have them be ridden by cultists or maybe a lone plague Marine with, like, cultists, like, hanging on, like.
Speaker AOr maybe they're, like, sort of sucked onto the slimy skin of the plague toads.
Speaker AAnd my other idea is a shambling silo, another demonic engine, but it's just a smokestack that's crawling like a crab with a shell.
Speaker ABut it's a smokestack and it's just artillery plague.
Speaker BThat's pretty cool.
Speaker AThat's Death Guard.
Speaker BAll right, I'll jump to Emperor's Children because I forgot one of my other ideas, but I will let you talk first.
Speaker BWhat did you have for.
Speaker AI want to hear yours.
Speaker AI want to hear yours.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BA lot of this is inspiration from other means, but I want a vehicle that is a noise marine vehicle based on the guitarist from Mad Max.
Speaker BYeah, Like, I want that as a, like, centerpiece vehicle model.
Speaker BI think that would be absolutely sick.
Speaker BAnd it's something I've always wanted for Emperor's Children, and it slipped my mind in the Rush, but Mad Max style noise Marine guitarist strapped to a death machine covered in speakers.
Speaker AI love that Chaos was where we forgot things because we went for a bit of a rush.
Speaker BI got into very chaos.
Speaker BIt does, right?
Speaker BBut no, that was.
Speaker BThat was my big Emperor's children 1.
Speaker BWhat did you have for EC EC.
Speaker AWhen, you know, before they announced it, I had, like, some notes like, oh, what are we gonna get?
Speaker AYou know, looking at the HH range and, like, what they used to be as a legion.
Speaker AI think easily you could bring an eidolon in the Phoenix Guard.
Speaker AYou could bring in Doom Rider and some bike rider mobs.
Speaker ADoom Rider is a.
Speaker AIs an old model.
Speaker AYou can look it up.
Speaker AIt's fun.
Speaker AYou could have I guess similar to what you were just describing with the noise Marine on the thing.
Speaker ABut I called them Blissful Chariots.
Speaker AYou could have cultists, but they're not called cultists, they're called hedonists.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AObviously the Sonic Dreadnought.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker BA popular one for a lot of people.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd then a couple of their actual units that they used to have like the Sun Killers which were there like Devastator Marines, their Havocs.
Speaker ABut I thought they could be like this mutated energy weapon wielding centaur that's like half marine, half fleshy demon.
Speaker BOh, nice.
Speaker AAnd also the Eagle King with like an Emperor children raptor style, which instead of like marines are again like a half Marine, half like half flying serpent aerial unit and just really lean into the excessive possession.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, no, cool.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BI think Emperor's children could have a pretty sick looking army.
Speaker BWhat about World Eaters?
Speaker AI was going to say, what do you want next?
Speaker AWorld Eaters?
Speaker ALet's see.
Speaker AAgain, similar to like Chaos Space Marines.
Speaker AI think the writing's on the wall for what could be next.
Speaker AAnd that's just simply all the things that already exist in the lore.
Speaker ALike the Red Butcher Terminators, Berserker Surge expanding out.
Speaker AYou could have like Jackal Hounds which are like bike riding cult is similar to what we saw in the secret level.
Speaker AAmazon Animation.
Speaker BOh yeah, yeah.
Speaker AYou could have, you know, the classic Berserkers on Juggernauts.
Speaker AOf course you could have some sort of range unit, like maybe it's Berserkers, but they all have flamers or something because the kill main burn and then all the sort of forge worldy stuff.
Speaker AOf course, if you wanted to bring in some demon engines, the Kaitan, the Brass Scorpion, the slaughter fiends, that kind of thing.
Speaker AVery, very easy to answer.
Speaker AJust the things we already know exist would be fine.
Speaker BThe things that everyone already wanted.
Speaker BAll right, yeah.
Speaker BWhat about my beloved Sandy Boys, the Necrons of Chaos?
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker AThis is going to make my answer even funnier.
Speaker ANow what if a monolith.
Speaker AWhat if you have a sort of ode to the planet of the Sorcerers, their old homeworld of.
Speaker AI think it's Tiska, where they had actual pyramids.
Speaker ABut now through the planet of the Sorcerers in the warp, they have become these absolute batteries of psychic energy and spell casting.
Speaker AAnd these are like a super heavy vehicle, like a Necron Monolith, except it looks more like an actual pyramid.
Speaker ABut they got all these runes, maybe like Xinjian eyes and random hands and maybe some.
Speaker AMaybe it's a loft on wings rather than like grav chutes or anything like that.
Speaker AAnd this is just like your over there.
Speaker AMega etheric doombolt.
Speaker ADoes strength 20.
Speaker BBlah, blah, blah.
Speaker A2D6 damage.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd it.
Speaker BIt fits in with the.
Speaker BI want something else anti tank.
Speaker BAnd I think that would be a really cool centerpiece model.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd then what you already said.
Speaker AAll right, that just leaves that.
Speaker AJust one more.
Speaker BLeaves one more.
Speaker AWe talked about it to death.
Speaker ABut Chaos Knights, right, That's it.
Speaker AGet that epic hero out.
Speaker AGet a Dark Knight or a black knight or something like that.
Speaker BHatred of crass.
Speaker AHatred of Crass.
Speaker AIt's right there.
Speaker AJust do that.
Speaker BThey have the.
Speaker BThe chaos antithesis to Kanis Rex.
Speaker BLike, just make it happen, you know, make it.
Speaker AListen to our Canis Rex episode for more on the ancient of Krasnoho.
Speaker ABeside that, I think a feral knight could be quite fun.
Speaker AYou know, nothing like too clean.
Speaker ALike something that's sort of falling apart.
Speaker AOr maybe they're a bit more animalistic.
Speaker AYou know, maybe they got like an on all fours kind of pose with like shoulder artillery or something.
Speaker BMake it a demon engine.
Speaker BGive it, like demonic bits.
Speaker BMake it, you know, bulging flesh between joints, like.
Speaker BYeah, no, that'd be absolutely sick.
Speaker AAnd it would be.
Speaker AAnd I had.
Speaker AIf we were to do a mirror to the Imperial Knights, which we did.
Speaker ARapid fire.
Speaker ABut if you think of medieval Imperial Knights, what's the, like the Dark Ages inversion of that?
Speaker AYou know, you've got Dark Mech.
Speaker BIs.
Speaker BWhat I was thinking is let's turn Chaos Knights into like this Dark Mech hybrid.
Speaker AI think that's very fair.
Speaker ALike, if you're building up like Lost in the Damned in CSM to maybe offshoot them in the future, you could do that again with Chaos Knights and Dark Mech.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AI didn't go down that path because I think they could just be their own army.
Speaker ADark Mech.
Speaker ABut I love the idea of it.
Speaker AJust bring in like, you know, like your Dark Ages twisted sort of prototype Chaos cultists.
Speaker AYou know, it's sword and shield guys, but the.
Speaker AThe swords are on fire and the shields are strapped with bodies.
Speaker AYou know, you got like torturers who are wheeling around like ballistas, but it's people on the ballistas and their blood are being turned into missiles.
Speaker AYou know, just like crazy stuff.
Speaker BYou want like, aos, destruction vibes, but more blood.
Speaker AYeah, I'll do.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AOgre.
Speaker AMore tribes now in 40k now.
Speaker BSick.
Speaker AI, I think that's it.
Speaker AI think that's all the factions.
Speaker BThat's all the factions we, we managed to get there.
Speaker BI think it really goes to show just how much room for growth this game still has.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BWhether it be stuff from the past or stuff that hasn't quite been realized yet or stuff from the future.
Speaker BYou know, like there's so much room for GW to just like expand and grow as a company in this game.
Speaker BThat's kind of coming into the norm at this point.
Speaker AYeah, everyone's heard of it.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBut also it's like it doesn't quite have that nasty taste it used to have 10 years ago, you know, it's a bit cleaner.
Speaker BIt's getting a bit more pop culture y coming out in the limelight as all the nerds get more popular, you know.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThe game's more streamlined.
Speaker AThe art whilst there are some darker aesthetics out there that it's not all so bad and grim and nerdy looking.
Speaker ALike you look at it like that's a sci fi art.
Speaker AThe models themselves obviously have a good artistic merit.
Speaker AThe kits themselves are straightforward.
Speaker ANot too many options.
Speaker AYouTube, you know, got tutorials for days.
Speaker BOh yeah, but that's, that's our little rant on what we think the factions of 40k could receive, what they need, what we want.
Speaker AQuestion.
Speaker BYeah, go on.
Speaker AIf you were to add a faction or two, what would they be?
Speaker AWho?
Speaker BI don't want to say dark mech, but dark mech because we did talk about them kind of already.
Speaker BI would like to see maybe a returning old race of.
Speaker BWhether it be like space lizards, like give us the Seraphon version for 40k or bring back the old Ones as a threat or you know, something ethereal, xenos related and maybe they are chaos corrupted or maybe this is, you know, chaos is getting out of hand so the, the few remaining great ones have to come out of hiding after all this time, you know, maybe that's what spurned the original Necron re emergence in the universe.
Speaker BAnd they run back some lore because we know they like to do that, you know, like I know that every part of this galaxy is under world ending, galaxy ending threat.
Speaker BBut you know, something old and ancient returning I think would be really cool.
Speaker AI love that.
Speaker AI think we could combine our answers together, my friend.
Speaker BOh yeah.
Speaker ABecause whilst I wasn't thinking Old Ones, I do love the idea of it.
Speaker AThe Old Ones are essentially the Slaan in Sigmar, like the Seraphon.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AMy answer was going to be the Exodites.
Speaker ABecause elves on dragons and dinosaurs and stuff is very fun as, you know, imagination exercise.
Speaker ABut the elves are creations of the Old Ones.
Speaker AThe Exodites, you know, went to the Maiden Worlds to get back to like this old way of life.
Speaker AWhat if the faction is just the Old Ones and you've got Sloan, you've got lizards, you've got Exodites.
Speaker BYou could even go so far as Crocs as like, as like an auxiliary to their army is like their big brutish old fashioned orcs that they used to have.
Speaker BIt's like the Old Ones are bringing back some of the things they dealt, you know, made to deal with the Necrons.
Speaker BAnd in the lore, the Exodites maybe reawakened the.
Speaker AThe Old Ones, maybe they always knew and that's why they were so secretive.
Speaker AThey're like, yeah, we.
Speaker AWe have the secret burner phone.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BIt's like things have.
Speaker BThings have gone to shit enough that maybe it's time to wake up the old dads.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AWe came to these worlds not to get away, but to get ready.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker BI think that would be a really cool way of going about introducing a new threat to the universe.
Speaker AAnd I'm totally confident GW would handle that as neatly and epically as we just described.
Speaker BThey'd release a book, a model and promise promises a book.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker BArcs of Omen 2.0, you know.
Speaker AAll right, my friend, any last closing remarks before we have to get ready for a game night?
Speaker BI really enjoy doing these sort of like hypothetical episodes and I really hope that that comes across with the audience as well and that they enjoy it as well because it's.
Speaker BIt's.
Speaker BThe what ifs are good fun.
Speaker BThey give me list building sort of vibes, you know, like, it's the same as building lists for me.
Speaker BIt's like, what if I made this work?
Speaker BWhat if I could do this?
Speaker BWhat could this be?
Speaker BI really like those sort of questions and episodes.
Speaker AMe too.
Speaker AAnd if you've made it to this part of the episode and you're listening in and you've listened to other episodes in the past, surely by now you've put together.
Speaker AWe're not just a law podcast.
Speaker AWe're not just a strategy podcast.
Speaker AWe're not just a news podcast.
Speaker AWe just go where we are excited by.
Speaker AOne week will be Law.
Speaker AOne week will be this.
Speaker ANext week will be maybe law Again end.
Speaker ABut it could also be a Codex review.
Speaker AYou know, it could even be something completely different.
Speaker AIt'll be like, hey, Johnny, I'm going to tell you about the lore of infinity and four.
Speaker AAnd you're like, what?
Speaker AAnd I'll be like, exactly.
Speaker BWe are a hobby podcast.
Speaker BWe are two blokes.
Speaker BWe are not hyper competitive.
Speaker BWe're not super skilled painters.
Speaker BWe're not any of these one or the other.

Speaker BAnd that's why our schedule is a little all over the place in terms of which topic is next.
Speaker BYou know, it's what has our focus right now.
Speaker BWhat do we think would be cool to talk about today?
Speaker AHell, yeah.
Speaker BAll right, well, I need to get ready to throw some chaos.
Speaker BKnights at my opponents.
Speaker AKnights Lord.
