So I have down here as a question, what is somebody looking in the mirror for?
Speaker AAnd so YouTube answer to that question would be, they're looking for self.
Speaker BGetting to know who they are, basically looking for self.
Speaker CThere's ways to solve problems.
Speaker BThe reason why I say it's about looking for at yourself is because we are programmed at a young age a certain way.
Speaker BWe are taught and programmed not to go within to deal with our emotions.
Speaker BAnd that's where a lot of people get stuck at, is they.
Speaker BThey go to tell their story, but they fail to realize that they are attached with the emotions because they never dealt with the emotions.
Speaker BThey never sat there.
Speaker BAnd.
Speaker BAnd basically, it's.
Speaker BIt ties in with sitting in silence.
Speaker BA lot of people can't sit in silence.
Speaker BThey struggle with that.
Speaker BThat's gonna be another topic, another episode on this same subject.
Speaker AAll right, two words.
Speaker AAs I was listening to y', all, two words stood out to me.
Speaker ABut I'll come back to it.
Speaker ARafiki, you had a conversation with a couple people about this topic, right?
Speaker BYes, I did.
Speaker AWhen asking this question, for the most part, what was people's initial response as what do you think?
Speaker BI was actually shocked because it was basically even.
Speaker BFirst it was a yes or no question.
Speaker BThen I asked other questions.
Speaker BOn top of the yes, no question, a lot of them answered yes.
Speaker BSo half answered yes and half answered no.
Speaker ANow, here's another question.
Speaker ANow, you said under further review, you started asking more questions.
Speaker AAnd as you started asking more questions,
Speaker Bwhat ended up happening after all that?
Speaker BAt the end, they all asked me my point of view.
Speaker AWell, well, did you find that someone who quickly shouted, yes, I could look in the mirror under more questioning, did their answer kind of shift?
Speaker BSome did and some didn't.
Speaker AAll right, the ones that did shift it, what's your opinion on that?
Speaker BWhen I asked the line of question that I did, because each one of them, I asked him different questions.
Speaker BIt wasn't the same question over and over.
Speaker BIt was different questions.
Speaker BAnd the reason why I done it that way there, because to me, if you answer it real quickly, real fast, yes, I can.
Speaker BTo me, you didn't really sit there and think about.
Speaker BBecause a lot of them would say, well, of course I look in the mirror due to the simple fact that, you know, I got to put.
Speaker BGotta put my makeup on or I gotta do my hair or I gotta wash my face.
Speaker BYou know, I was getting some answers like that at first until I got into it deeper with, like, a couple questions.
Speaker BI would ask them, well, what do you Tell yourself, when you're looking in the into the mirror, what do you see?
Speaker BWho are you?
Speaker BI don't even ask that question.
Speaker BThat's what made them started to thinking.
Speaker BAnd it boils down to that.
Speaker BYou can't actually judge a book by its coverage.
Speaker BWe are technically books.
Speaker BWe.
Speaker BOur shell is our out outsider period.
Speaker BBut a lot of people don't know the inside.
Speaker BWe might be able to put a smile on our face, although we're in pain.
Speaker BWe might be able to put a front on, although we are the deep stated depression.
Speaker BAnd that's where people need to actually understand where this topic was actually going in the first place.
Speaker BBecause I did ask quite a few friends of mine this question.
Speaker CSo I got a question Rafiki, out of, out of the people that you interviewed and the ones that quickly responded with yes, what percentage of those yes answers after further questioning did you find out that they could not look themselves in the mirror?
Speaker CIf there were any.
Speaker BThere was one or two that I picked up on that.
Speaker BYou know, when it boiled down to it, the final answer was no.
Speaker BThey really couldn't do it because they said, well that's, that's hard.
Speaker AWell, in all actuality, logically speaking, mental someone who can't look themselves in the mirror, should we expect them to say, nah, I can't look myself in the mirror?
Speaker ABecause in all actuality, not being able to look yourself in the mirror, ain't that actually hiding from yourself?
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BOh yeah.
Speaker ASo I guess one could logically put together that hey, if you can't look in the mirror, I can't expect a straight answer from you.
Speaker CIf they're lied about, if they said yes.
Speaker CAnd then after push back and you know, in further push, their answer ends up turning no.
Speaker CLike Rafiki said, they responded too quickly.
Speaker CBut I would, I would have a, a, a bit more respect or trust for the person that told me no from the jump.
Speaker AAnd Rafiki.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker AMy comment just went to that one question.
Speaker AI'm not talking about as a whole.
Speaker ANot trust.
Speaker BTrue.
Speaker BRight, right, right.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AYou know, not as a whole.
Speaker ASo all y' all think I'm talking about in general.
Speaker ANah, I'm just talking about to that one question.
Speaker AYou know what I'm saying?
Speaker AHey, hey, can you look yourself in the mirror?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd then after three questions, your answer is no.
Speaker BWell see, like I said, the ones that did, they said, well, because I got to do this like, but put makeup on, I gotta get ready for work, things like that.
Speaker BSo that's what, that's what made me from the very beginning start asking people questions.
Speaker ASo wait, now here's the question for you.
Speaker AThat person that responded to you that way and.
Speaker AYeah, well, yeah, I gotta put my makeup on.
Speaker ADo you think they didn't understand your question or that was just the answer?
Speaker BI think they.
Speaker AAnd wait, wait, wait, wait.
Speaker AHold up.
Speaker AThink about it.
Speaker AIf they truly understood your question and that was their answer, it, well, yeah, I gotta put makeup on.
Speaker ADid they truly.
Speaker ACan they really look in the mirror?
Speaker ABecause if they understood where you was coming from, that wouldn't have been their answer.
Speaker CExactly.
Speaker BSo, but.
Speaker AWait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Speaker BBut.
Speaker AThere's a but to that,
Speaker Bright?
Speaker ASo it could be that they understood it and didn't want to answer.
Speaker ABut then what if they didn't understand you, your question and that was their answer, then what can I draw from that?
Speaker BSo let me get this.
Speaker BSo I know that I'm understanding it.
Speaker BSo you're asking me when I asked the question to the people and they answered yes, because they gotta, you know, they gotta put their makeup on and things like that.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd I stopped him and said, no, no, no.
Speaker BAnd then I broke it down.
Speaker BSo when I was doing this experiment, when the ones that would say yes because they had to look, I said, well, you didn't understand the question.
Speaker BSo I had to break it down.
Speaker BBut some of them, to me, when I done the further questioning, they was actually, they probably knew and understood what I was talking about, but they was deflected.
Speaker AThat's what I was.
Speaker AThat's what I was getting at.
Speaker AThat's where I was going.
Speaker BThey didn't want to work on sale.
