If you're slugging with this much Vaseline, you're doing it

Speaker:

wrong. You just need a pea-sized amount of Vaseline petroleum jelly.

Speaker:

You're supposed to actually put something on your skin, because the

Speaker:

Vaseline doesn't do the work. I feel like that was a bit of misinformation. Make

Speaker:

So this is one of Oprah's favorites. I'm going to put a little on your hand. How

Speaker:

No, gross. This is your fastest way to clear skin, especially if

Speaker:

you have hormonal acne. You're going to take about a half a cup of oats and

Speaker:

No problem with that, except that the oats have to be organic. But

Speaker:

if you do have acne, you know what's great for it? Welcome to The

Speaker:

Holistic Skin Guru, where what's on the surface is just as

Speaker:

important as what's underneath. I'm your host, Aamena. Let's

Speaker:

dive deep into the world of holistic skincare. Today

Speaker:

we're going to be reacting to some viral videos that we've seen on

Speaker:

99% of people don't know that if you have open pores, you have to use niacinamide. If

Speaker:

you have hyperpigmentation, you have to use glycolic acid. If

Speaker:

you have wrinkles, you have to use retinol. If you have acne or

Speaker:

clogged pores, you have to use salicylic acid or lactic acid. If

Speaker:

you have dark eye circles, you have to use creams with a caffeine solution. If

Speaker:

you have redness, you have to use azelaic acid. If you have dry skin,

Speaker:

you have to use ceramide cream. Let us know if you want to part two.

Speaker:

Thanks for watching and don't forget to follow us to unlock the best version of

Speaker:

Did you see how much Vaseline she put on her face? Oh my goodness.

Speaker:

Okay, first of all, you don't have to do any of these things. These

Speaker:

are just recommendations. They will work for some people and

Speaker:

they won't work for others. So Yes, a

Speaker:

lot of what she said will work for those conditions, but they're

Speaker:

not a must. You don't have to do these things. My recommendation is

Speaker:

go and see a therapist, assess your skin, see

Speaker:

what's going on in your skin, and then get a product

Speaker:

If you're slugging with this much Vaseline, you're doing it

Speaker:

wrong. You just need a pea-sized amount of Vaseline petroleum jelly.

Speaker:

You probably have some in your bathroom, and if you don't, just grab some. It

Speaker:

is so affordable. Looking for a simple way to keep your skin hydrated,

Speaker:

especially during winter? Slugging is the answer. About six months

Speaker:

ago, I was gonna buy pet snails because apparently if you put snails on

Speaker:

your face, it keeps your skin hydrated. Kind of gross, I know,

Speaker:

but I will literally do anything for glowing skin. Thank God Vaseline

Speaker:

makes slugging so much easier and you just go to sleep like

Speaker:

she didn't really explain what she was doing. Like

Speaker:

she just said, put Vaseline on your face, but she didn't explain, or

Speaker:

maybe she didn't do anything before that. I'm not sure, but you're supposed to actually

Speaker:

put something on your skin because the Vaseline doesn't do the

Speaker:

work. It's what you put on before the Vaseline that does

Speaker:

the work. The Vaseline just keeps the product in

Speaker:

place and intact. And yeah, so

Speaker:

I feel like that was a bit of misinformation. She didn't do a

Speaker:

very good job. And yeah, make sure you apply either

Speaker:

hyaluronic acid or something that's, you

Speaker:

know, active, that's, that's hydrating. That's

Speaker:

going to actually be beneficial to your skin and hydrate your skin and

Speaker:

then pop your Vaseline on top. That's the point of

Speaker:

slugging. And then the other thing is try not to use

Speaker:

Vaseline. It is petroleum jelly. It is a by-product

Speaker:

of petroleum, petrol. we can find

Speaker:

other things to use other than that. So

Speaker:

yeah, try maybe organic shea butter.

Speaker:

That's great. There's quite a number of things that you can use

Speaker:

Rapid fire, let's go. Starting off strong, we're always washing our hands before we're

Speaker:

doing anything with our face. We're not eating peanut butter. We're not eating anything that has

Speaker:

high omega sixes in it. It's gonna cause acne. We're not picking at our face.

Speaker:

We're not doing that. We're gonna cause more scarring. We're gonna spread that bacteria around. It's

Speaker:

gonna cause more acne. Why are we doing that? We're not. We're not doing that, right?

Speaker:

We're not letting our pets sleep in our bed. Fight me if you want to. I got

Speaker:

a baby too and I love him, but guess what? He don't get to sleep on the bed. We're not

Speaker:

eating high glycemic foods. We're eating whole foods. We're eating complex carbs. We're

Speaker:

eating good proteins, good fats, prebiotics, Probiotics. We're

Speaker:

also eating a lot of vitamin C and a lot of vitamin A. Your body will

Speaker:

thank you. Your skin will thank you. We're using single-use towels. Unless

Speaker:

you have specific towels for your face, preferably microfiber and

Speaker:

white so they can be bleached. We're changing our pillowcases regularly. Preferably

Speaker:

every day if you're having breakouts often. Same goes for body

Speaker:

acne and sheets. Hypochlorous acid spray. That is your

Speaker:

friend. Especially if you're gym girly, you're taking that with you. Spraying

Speaker:

Okay, so I love everything she said. She's

Speaker:

on the right path. These are the people you should be following on TikTok. She

Speaker:

knows her stuff. I couldn't fault anything that she

Speaker:

said, except that I still sleep

Speaker:

But yeah, other than that, go for it. This

Speaker:

is your sign to start using Greek yogurt as your natural face mask.

Speaker:

And not because Lori Harvey said so, but because Arika said so.

Speaker:

I've been using this for 10 years and this is what got me into natural skincare.

Speaker:

Yeah, she's right. Yogurt is full

Speaker:

of probiotics and probiotics are great for your skin.

Speaker:

I mean, we even have a probiotic lotion in our clinic and

Speaker:

So she's spot on. So this is one of Oprah's favorites.

Speaker:

She says it's a miracle fountain of youth

Speaker:

and her magic wrinkle cure. So I'm going to put a little on your hand.

Speaker:

I'll show you in a sec, Steve. So this is

Speaker:

Look, the wrinkles has just disappeared. I can't

Speaker:

You done sat up here and squirted somebody's

Speaker:

Oh my God, poor Steve Harvey. I

Speaker:

would have killed that woman if she did that to me. Gross. Who

Speaker:

wants that on your face? Ugh, I don't care if

Speaker:

Oprah likes it. Nah, there are so many other things you can do. I'd

Speaker:

rather put snail serum on my face than that. Yeah,

Speaker:

gross the best thing we learned about skincare and modeling school is this

Speaker:

mask right here this is your fastest way to clear skin especially if

Speaker:

you have hormonal acne active acne you're just looking for a way to

Speaker:

maintain your clear skin so you're gonna take about a half a cup of oats and

Speaker:

blend them i like to blend them to make it more of a gentle exfoliant and

Speaker:

then you're going to combine that with manuka honey however much you prefer

Speaker:

for the texture that you'd like on your face so the reason this is so good the

Speaker:

oats in here absorb excess oil from your skin excess oil

Speaker:

is what's in hormonal acne and a lot of breakouts on top of

Speaker:

that when you wash this off the oats will act as an exfoliant and gentle exfoliation

Speaker:

is always a great option in treating acne overall just treating the

Speaker:

skin to allow new skin to come through faster and then we know honey is our antibacterial

Speaker:

antifungal anti-inflammatory which is helping treat the current acne

Speaker:

on your face while preventing further breakouts this just has so many benefits

Speaker:

No problem with that, except that the oats have to be organic. That's

Speaker:

the first thing. Manuka honey, I would just put

Speaker:

that straight on my skin like I wouldn't even bother mixing it with anything else. But

Speaker:

if you do have acne, you know what's great for it? Grate a potato,

Speaker:

squeeze the water out of that potato and use

Speaker:

that water or that liquid that comes out of the potato. Put

Speaker:

that on your skin, brush it on with a mask brush and

Speaker:

allow it to dry. And when it's dry, start gently removing

Speaker:

it. It will exfoliate your skin. Your skin will brighten. It

Speaker:

will absorb the oil. It is an amazing mask. Try

Speaker:

that instead. All right, guys, if you want me to react to more
