Speaker:

Hello there, Modern Man. Ever wonder why does alcohol affect

Speaker:

your erection? Well, let's dive into it today and stay until the

Speaker:

end, and you will find out something that you didn't know

Speaker:

that alcohol affects. So let's dive into it. I'm Dr Anne

Speaker:

Truong. I'm a medical doctor specialized in sexual medicine.

Speaker:

We know that alcohol kind of relaxes you. You take one drink,

Speaker:

relaxes you. That's great. It may even make you be relaxed.

Speaker:

That's probably why it helps you in the mood for sex and your

Speaker:

libido. But do you know that there are short term effects of

Speaker:

alcohol that really affect your erection? Number one, you're

Speaker:

going to notice that when you drink alcohol that is too much,

Speaker:

you're going to get something called Whiskey Dick because

Speaker:

alcohol lowers your blood pressure and it interferes with

Speaker:

signal between the brain and the penis that's needed for

Speaker:

erection. And sometimes it also dull your sensation, your

Speaker:

sensitivity as well. Number two, it reduces your sensitivity, and

Speaker:

therefore it kind of makes sexual activity less pleasurable

Speaker:

or even effective, and that's what lead to number three,

Speaker:

alcohol affect delay and inhibited orgasm, because

Speaker:

drinking makes it harder to reach orgasm, and also can

Speaker:

affect delay ejaculation. Number four, the most important part is

Speaker:

that alcohol creates a weaker erection. Even if you can

Speaker:

achieve an erection, it may not be as firm due to impaired blood

Speaker:

flow.

Speaker:

Now, long term effects, meaning if you drink more than three

Speaker:

drinks a day, been doing it for years. Long term is that you

Speaker:

will have erectile dysfunction, meaning there are damage to the

Speaker:

blood vessels and nerve which a condition called alcoholic

Speaker:

neuropathy, that lead to long term ED. And then alcohol, long

Speaker:

term, can also lower your libido, because it reduces

Speaker:

testosterone level and therefore decrease sexual desire. Number

Speaker:

three, it also shrink your sexual organ. Yes, prolonged

Speaker:

alcohol abuse can lead to testicle shrinkage and reduced

Speaker:

penis size due to lower hormone imbalances. Number four, chronic

Speaker:

alcohol use can make your testicle and your penis smaller

Speaker:

due to hormone imbalances. So that's something very, very

Speaker:

important, isn't it? You don't want your manhood to be smaller,

Speaker:

but long term alcohol will affect that. You can also

Speaker:

experience issues like premature ejaculation or even delay

Speaker:

orgasm, along with ED as well too.

Speaker:

Let's talk about how much is too much well, like I've always said

Speaker:

two drinks a day is probably good, and you can actually do

Speaker:

okay. If you do two drinks a day, that's about 14 drinks a

Speaker:

week. So two drinks a day may not affect your erectile

Speaker:

function. However, three or more drinks a day, or 12 grams of

Speaker:

ethanol, can significantly increase your risk of ED. So

Speaker:

what is considered a typical standard drink? A standard drink

Speaker:

is defined as 12 ounce of regular beer, which is 5%

Speaker:

alcohol, 5 ounce of wine which is 12% alcohol, and 1.5 ounce of

Speaker:

distilled spirit which usually contains about 40% alcohol. And

Speaker:

so that's one standard drink. So you're allowed two beers a day,

Speaker:

or three ounces of spirit, or 10 ounces of wine a day. So I'm

Speaker:

just kind of doubling the ounces in beer, wine, and spirit. So

Speaker:

that's kind of like your allotment. You go more than

Speaker:

that, you know you're going to experience whiskey dick. So I

Speaker:

wanted to kind of do a video, kind of explain to you how

Speaker:

alcohol can affect your erection, and in the beginning,

Speaker:

maybe the first one, help you relax, help you be more social.

Speaker:

And then more than that is going to affect your performance that

Speaker:

night. So just be aware of it. And that alcohol can also affect

Speaker:

the absorption of ED medication as well. It will make it even

Speaker:

less effective because it numbs the nerve and it also decreased

Speaker:

the blood flow. You don't want that. If you want to get an

Speaker:

erection, you gotta have increased blood flow.

Speaker:

So there you go. You got some allowances for alcohol for the

Speaker:

night, and just know that imbibing too much will probably

Speaker:

affect your performance as well. I hope you find this helpful.
