Welcome back to another episode of health hacks today, I want to talk to you about letting go of what's not yours. So often we carry around emotions that we've stuffed down, and sometimes those emotions aren't even yours. Let me ask you something, have you ever walked into a room and just felt tension even before anyone spoke a word? Or maybe you've had a great morning and then after talking to someone, your mood just plummets? That's because the emotions are energy and energy is contagious. And the truth is, we often carry emotions that don't even belong to us. We pick them up from our family, our friends, our partners, our co workers, even from the collective consciousness, consciousness scrolling our social media feeds. It's like emotional Velcro. We absorb it, we hold it, we carry it, and we wonder why we feel heavy, overwhelmed or even anxious. So here's a simple tip you can try today. Pause, take a deep breath and gently ask yourself, Is this mine? You'll be surprised how often the answer is no, and if it isn't yours, just exhale it out that deep exhale where you can hear the air come out of your mouth, and imagine handing it back to someone else, or seeing it drift away like smoke in the breeze. However, what if the emotional heaviness goes deeper? What if it's not just recent, maybe something you've been carrying for years, even decades? Well, that's where timeline therapy comes in, and this is one of the most powerful techniques I use with clients to resolve to release unresolved emotions, like anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt, rage and shame that have been stored in the unconscious mind, often since childhood.
