Have you ever been so deep in something that failure isn't just scary, it's impossible.
Speaker ANo exit, no backup plan, no option to walk away.
Speaker AThis is life when the stakes are high and quitting simply isn't on the menu.
Speaker ASometimes when failure isn't an option, we don't just survive, we transform in ways we never imagined.
Speaker AOn today's Fail Forward Friday, I share moments from my own life when turning back simply wasn't possible, and the unexpected gifts that came from being forced to go all in.
Speaker ASo stay tuned for today's Choosing Happy podcast.
Speaker ALet me tell you about a time when I was caring for my parents not too long ago.
Speaker ASome days felt like I was failing them and myself.
Speaker AI was exhausted, overwhelmed, unable to take a holiday, unable to walk away.
Speaker ABut leaving wasn't an option.
Speaker ASometimes life's responsibilities aren't negotiable.
Speaker AEven when things felt like they were falling apart, I had to find the strength I never knew knew I had because I had no other choice.
Speaker AAnd I know there are many people out there today who are in similar situations.
Speaker AAnother defining moment was during my NLP's trainers training in Australia.
Speaker AI mentioned this on Wednesday's podcast, where the feedback was brutal, honest and it stung.
Speaker AIn the first few days we had to give presentations and as I say, it was brutal.
Speaker AThere were days I wanted to go home, but I was thousands of miles away, committed for three weeks.
Speaker AI couldn't leave.
Speaker AIt was all or nothing.
Speaker AI chose all in.
Speaker AAlthough it was hard, that no escape moment became a gift, revealing what I was truly capable of when pushed beyond limits.
Speaker AAnd because I was all in, I actually excelled and outperformed myself.
Speaker ASo if you're in a place right now where you feel you might not cope, feeling less than or unsure that you can get through, stop for a moment.
Speaker AJust take a pause and ask yourself, how will I feel when this all works out?
Speaker AAnd remember why you're doing this.
Speaker ADiamonds aren't made out of cotton wool, they're forged in the pressure and fire.
Speaker AAnd as we approach the end of the year, a time for reflection and goal setting, ask yourself what difference would it make to raise the stakes around your outcome?
Speaker AWhat if you committed not just to a goal, but to showing up with fierce determination, going all in for you, your life, your relationships and your dreams.
Speaker AIf you're ready to finish the year renewed and recommitted, join my Raising the Stakes Unhappy course, which will be released at the beginning of December.
Speaker AIt's your invitation to step into your fullest potential before the year closes with clarity, courage, and, of course, choice.
Speaker AWhen you find yourself in situations where failure or quitting simply aren't options, there's profound growth and transformation waiting on the other side.
Speaker AAnd here's what these moments teach us and how you can apply them.
Speaker AA deeper version of yourself emerges.
Speaker AAdversity strips away distractions and surface fears, revealing resilience and creativity you didn't know you had.
Speaker ASo the next time pressure builds, pause, breathe and ask, what inner strength am I yet to discover?
Speaker AHere, comfort zones dissolve permanently.
Speaker AYou learn that safe is an illusion and growth demands discomfort.
Speaker ASo choose one uncomfortable task this week that nudges your limits and journal the feelings it unlocks.
Speaker AYou redefine success.
Speaker AIt's no longer about flawless performance or winning.
Speaker ASuccess becomes about showing up with courage, being adaptable, being messy, and owning your process, even when it is messy and imperfect.
Speaker ACelebrate small wins and progress, even if the outcome looks messy.
Speaker AResilience is a muscle, not magic.
Speaker AEvery moment you don't quit, you'll build endurance, making the next challenge easier.
Speaker ASo practice a daily micro resilience habit like a quick breath pause or repeating positive affirmations.
Speaker AOr if you're doing something like exercise, just a quick extra exercise to help you grow unexpected lessons and gratitude and presence.
Speaker ABeing unable to escape forces you to find joy and meaning in the moment, and this is why I created the Choosing Happy podcast.
Speaker ASo each day note one small thing you're grateful for.
Speaker AAnd if you listen to my episode on Gratitude, it isn't about being grateful and not expecting more.
Speaker AIt's about appreciating the moment, especially during hard times and transformation beyond recognition.
Speaker AYou may surprise yourself with how different you become and reflect monthly on your growth areas and celebrate how far you've come.
Speaker AConnection and support become lifelines.
Speaker ACommunity and asking for help are vital, and I know this is often difficult, especially when you're feeling isolated and alone in your situation.
Speaker ABut try reaching out this week to one trusted friend or mentor and share your journey unapologetically.
Speaker AYou gain clarity on what truly matters.
Speaker ACrises clarify core values and purpose, and also really get you to realize that things you may have been complaining about in the past have nothing on where you are now.
Speaker ATake a moment to write down your top three values, what's important to you, what's really important to you deep down, and revisit them when decisions feel overwhelming.
Speaker AHave you ever faced a situation where quitting wasn't really an option?
Speaker AWhere failure wasn't even a possibility and you had to give it everything?
