Speaker A

Foreign.

Speaker A

And welcome to the Pat Accounting Podcast with me, your host, Vicky Clark.

Speaker A

I'm going to help you get to grips with your finances, save you lots of money and take the stress out of doing your tax return.

Speaker A

So let's get going.

Speaker A

Welcome everybody.

Speaker A

We are here with the lovely Charlotte Parrot from K9 Marketing Support.

Speaker A

If you live under a rock and don't know who she is, and we're gonna just have a little general catch up I think today see what Charlotte's been up to and what she's got coming up in 2026 for you guys.

Speaker A

And also just a bit of a see how she thought the Expo was and what she's doing at next year's Expo.

Speaker A

So welcome, my lovely.

Speaker A

Hi, how are you?

Speaker B

I'm all good.

Speaker B

I'm, I'm really jealous of you breaking up on Friday.

Speaker B

I, I didn't really, I put next week in as a little bit of a do not disturb, but I still have so to do that.

Speaker B

I'm like, I'm not going to be front facing, but I will be able behind the scenes.

Speaker A

Do you know what we do every year?

Speaker A

We always shut early on the 19th or however it lands and then we don't come back until the 5th of January.

Speaker A

So we always have the two week period off, which is bizarre because it's like one of the busiest times of the tax calendar and we decide to take two weeks off, but I think by this point we're all just knackered and we, you know, have two weeks off, refreshed, come back in January and I think we still got roughly about 140 clients that still haven't sent us their records, which, you know, doesn't sound a lot, but like I said on the last podcast, contrary to popular belief, tax returns do take a long time.

Speaker A

So when you've got 140 of them to do in January, but we need the team to be refreshed, like raring to go on the 5th of July.

Speaker B

If you're listening to this live, get.

Speaker A

Your bloody records then.

Speaker A

Otherwise we're on holiday on Friday and we'll not get them again.

Speaker A

So.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker A

Have you done yours?

Speaker B

Yes, I've done mine.

Speaker B

I've.

Speaker B

I'm somebody who has to get it done like the minute you can because otherwise I spend the entire year stressing.

Speaker B

So I'm not a last minute person when it comes to things like this.

Speaker A

I literally do mine on the 6th of January.

Speaker A

6th of April.

Speaker A

6th of January, 6th of April.

Speaker A

I know that's late 6th of April.

Speaker A

Literally as soon as my eyes open on the day that I can do it, I sit down, I get it done and it's.

Speaker A

And then it's out of the way.

Speaker A

Then I know how much I've got to say by January, so I don't have to stress about it.

Speaker B

Exactly.

Speaker A

But so, yes, get it done.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker A

So you were one of our lovely speakers.

Speaker A

If you're wondering what I'm doing, I'm just.

Speaker A

I know when you tap these things on here, it the pushes it out on people's news feeds, apparently, and it does work.

Speaker A

So if you see me doing this, it's because I'm just tapping away.

Speaker B

To be honest, I think.

Speaker A

No, no, it doesn't, it doesn't.

Speaker A

Honestly, if you do this on your lives, if you press these, it pushes the algorithms to people in your feed.

Speaker B

The hand eye coordination to sit on my phone and tap the screen and.

Speaker A

Well, I just find out where it roughly is in the area and just tap my hand whilst I'm talking.

Speaker B

A block, user block.

Speaker A

But yes, you were one of our lovely speakers at this year's expo.

Speaker A

How did you find it?

Speaker A

And be brutally honest.

Speaker A

Like, we want honest feedback for these guys.

Speaker B

Honestly, honestly, brutally honest.

Speaker B

And I'm very Gordon Ramsay about things at times.

Speaker B

I absolutely loved it.

Speaker B

Like, absolutely loved it.

Speaker B

The whole day.

Speaker B

The community feel a bit, you know.

Speaker B

Yes, okay, I understand there was a lot of people and there was a lot of like, like, you know, speakers and things, but generally speaking, it was an absolutely brilliant day.

Speaker B

So, yeah, my honest feedback was.

Speaker B

It was just nice to have something in the industry for everybody to come to and turn up and learn.

Speaker B

Doesn't matter.

Speaker B

You know, you had, you had walkers talking to groomers, groomers talking to trainers.

Speaker B

It was just lovely.

Speaker B

And it had the whole, I think the community you fostered online, it was like a, an in person version of that.

Speaker B

And I love that.

Speaker A

Yeah, yeah, I was, I'm not gonna lie, I myself thinking this could, this is, could go one of two ways.

Speaker A

It's either gonna go really well or it's gonna fall flat in the sauce and everyone's gonna hate me and be like, vicky, that was shit.

Speaker A

And I could have just hidden under a rock for the next six months and not read my head.

Speaker A

But actually, like you said, the general atmosphere with everyone, then obviously there's a lot of people coming on their own and we had the WhatsApp group, which is still going strong, and that was only meant to be sort of a, you know, if you're coming on your own, pop it in the group and someone will come and get you so that you're not stood on your own.

Speaker A

Because there's always that daunting fear when you go to events that you're just going to be sat there in the corner of the room on your own, thinking, oh, my God, what the hell?

Speaker A

But there was none of that.

Speaker A

And actually the WhatsApp group was turned into like a.

Speaker A

A little community of people of what they've done well and getting advice from each other.

Speaker A

And like I said, it's a mixture.

Speaker A

There's groomers on there, there's trainers on there, there's walkers on there, and they're all just chatting, sharing.

Speaker A

Yeah, just chatting and sharing stuff.

Speaker A

And now, like, I can't get rid of the WhatsApp group, which was meant to be just a. Yeah, an Expo Day WhatsApp group, but now I don't get rid of it because everyone's chatting away on there and it's just been lovely.

Speaker A

So for me, I mean, I did cram a lot of speakers in.

Speaker A

That was probably my only downfall is I just thought, why not?

Speaker A

Let's just have everybody and put no breaks in whatsoever.

Speaker A

And everyone was like, overload.

Speaker A

So we have rectified that.

Speaker A

But, you know, for me, it was the, like you said, the community spirit of everyone just.

Speaker A

It was just lovely.

Speaker A

Just had a nice feel to it and everyone was there for the same reason.

Speaker A

How did you.

Speaker A

How did you feel doing your talk?

Speaker A

Were you nervous?

Speaker B

I was all right, to be fair.

Speaker B

Like, I.

Speaker B

Like I said at the Expo because Bill went first and talked a lot about, like, mindset.

Speaker B

I was like, in a Zen place.

Speaker B

I was like, ready to go.

Speaker B

And to be fair, the entire room was so welcoming.

Speaker B

Sometimes you stand on these stages and everybody's like.

Speaker A

And I'm like, deadpan face.

Speaker A

You're like, oh, no.

Speaker A

Kind of make them laugh.

Speaker B

Starting there with my little vibration comment really helped me, you know, with settling in the news, making everybody laugh.

Speaker B

But, yeah, no, I loved it.

Speaker B

And I'm a big.

Speaker B

I said this at the Expo because I do a lot on Zoom.

Speaker B

You know, I. I see people chatting away.

Speaker B

I can see a little bit more.

Speaker B

Whereas when you speak in person, it's always that daunting thing where people are writing notes.

Speaker B

But even when I'm asking a question, people were getting involved.

Speaker B

It wasn't just like cricket.

Speaker B

So, no, I absolutely loved it.

Speaker B

I didn't realize that I near enough gone over time and I had so many.

Speaker A

Yes, because you were like, oh, I don't know if I can fill 45 minutes.

Speaker A

And I was like, all right, okay.

Speaker A

I said, don't worry, we'll do a question answer.

Speaker A

And it got to like 50 minutes.

Speaker A

And I'm going, Charlotte, yeah.

Speaker A

Like, you, you need to stop.

Speaker B

That's the thing, you know, I think it was just a lovely, like I said, welcoming atmosphere for everybody.

Speaker B

Didn't manage.

Speaker B

If you're a speaker or, you know, an attendee, it has just.

Speaker B

Just a nice feel.

Speaker B

So, yeah, I absolutely loved it.

Speaker A

And you're coming back next year by popular demand.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

People loved the social media side and I think it.

Speaker A

Do you know what?

Speaker A

It's one of those topics so that people do struggle with.

Speaker A

Like, you know, when you first met me, like four years ago, I was shit.

Speaker A

I just had literally zero clue, like, how, like, how to do any of it.

Speaker A

Like, I, I even now like, Tegan does it and she's on Instagram and she's like, oh, no, you need this, like, trend in audio and you need to do this.

Speaker A

And I'm like, I don't even know what that means.

Speaker A

Like I said, cannot just post it.

Speaker A

And she's like, no, there's, like, there's.

Speaker A

There's a theory behind it.

Speaker B

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker A

Like, if I go on and post something randomly, I get told off.

Speaker B

I bet.

Speaker B

I bet you do.

Speaker B

I think it's one of those things.

Speaker B

You are right.

Speaker B

Like, absolutely.

Speaker B

And I think one of the things for a lot of business owners to wrap their heads around is this with you for the long game.

Speaker B

Like, you can meet it with this resistance and this hate.

Speaker B

It's not going anywhere.

Speaker B

It's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Speaker B

So the more you can sort of get to grips with it and learn the things, it's like anything.

Speaker B

Like, let's be honest, when you started your business, you didn't know everything there was about business.

Speaker B

You've learned along the way.

Speaker B

But, yeah, my biggest, like, resistance thing that I get met with is I hate social media.

Speaker B

And I think the minute you say that to yourself, it's like, well, that's.

Speaker B

That's how you've set yourself up to continue with this.

Speaker B

Not.

Speaker B

I'm open to learning about socials saying that, you know, when I'd spoken to people after my.

Speaker B

My talk, the amount of people who were like, thank you, like, you've just simplified it that little bit more.

Speaker B

I think the problem with social media in general for marketing is it's.

Speaker B

There's so many opinions on things rather than value.

Speaker B

So it's like, oh, ads don't work.

Speaker B

Yeah, they do ads work?

Speaker B

Like, it's just because you boosted a post and chucked a tenor behind it, like supposed to do.

Speaker A

Damn it.

Speaker A

That's.

Speaker A

That's why it didn't work.

Speaker A

I'm gonna ask you a question on that, though, after you finish, because I'll pick your brain on that.

Speaker B

Well, yeah, ads are not my absolute full day, so I've got all my hands up.

Speaker B

But yeah, I think, I think that's part of the problem.

Speaker B

Like there are changes, don't get me wrong, stuff that I said to you four years ago we should be doing when I was helping you are definitely not things I'd be rest you do now.

Speaker B

But that's because times change and things change and like anything, you evolve and you, you've got to keep up, up.

Speaker A

And what did I say to you four years ago when we were chatting that you should do.

Speaker A

What did you.

Speaker A

That you've done?

Speaker A

That you've done.

Speaker A

And it's going really well.

Speaker A

Your membership.

Speaker B

Oh, the membership.

Speaker A

I've been saying that to you for years, Charlotte, you need to do a membership, Charlotte, you need to do a membership and then you've done it and it's working really well.

Speaker B

Yeah, we've got 220 members all across the world.

Speaker B

Like it's, it's a, it's a brilliant membership.

Speaker B

So two years old now, do you know, even thinking about like four years ago, working with yours feels like a lifetime ago, like time ago.

Speaker B

But yeah, two years of that membership and it is.

Speaker B

Yeah, well, there's still so many people who need it, but I'm trying to get there, I'm trying to reach them.

Speaker B

It just obviously takes time.

Speaker A

The thing is, with social media, it's the same as finance.

Speaker A

It's.

Speaker A

It's so crucial to your business and it ain't going anywhere.

Speaker A

You can't have a business without looking after your finances and you can't have a business without doing marketing, social media.

Speaker A

You just can't.

Speaker A

And like, you know, I say to clients like you, you need to.

Speaker A

I know you hate doing it and I know you hate and.

Speaker A

Or don't understand it, like technophobes like me, but that's why you go on these memberships and you get help.

Speaker A

Because the marketing is what's going to bring your clients in.

Speaker A

The marketing is what's going to sell you as a dog groomer or a dog walker or a dog border.

Speaker A

You can't not have it, otherwise you're just going to fall behind.

Speaker A

The same as AI.

Speaker A

Like AI in two years, time is going to be the thing that people are going to start using like Google, you know, and if you fall behind with that, you're not going to keep up and everyone's just going to go above you.

Speaker B

I've had this conversation with my members, I did a masterclass with them in November about how to stand out in 2026 and even though, you know, two years time, people are still searching now I've had recommendations, people have found me through chat and I know other people in my membership who have been found through like ChatGPT and Things.

Speaker B

So AI optimization is a huge part of it and that falls into marketing.

Speaker B

But I know there will be people listening and watching this and they'll go, oh, but I get all my clients from word of mouth, do I get all my clients from this?

Speaker B

And that's absolutely fine.

Speaker B

Whilst it goes well for you, it's that the minute that drops off and the minute you got have a fully booked diary because it does have this seasons in business, isn't there some sometimes everything's brilliant and then other times it's a little bit quieter and a little bit slower and you start to panic.

Speaker B

You need that just consistency.

Speaker B

And I think now more than ever, social media is yes a place to market your business and promote it.

Speaker B

But people like people and they like seeing what you know, what you're up to.

Speaker B

Like I love, you know the little videos where I see the dogs running across the beach on your page.

Speaker B

You tell me you're all in one sole trader package but I'm like, oh, look at them.

Speaker B

So yeah, it's just.

Speaker B

Yeah, I think absolutely, you're 100 right.

Speaker B

You know, AI is something that's, that's on the horizon.

Speaker B

Well, it's here, it's.

Speaker B

And people aren't on the horizon anymore, it's here.

Speaker B

But it's just having the tools to know how to use things like this.

Speaker A

I mean Tegan uses copilot a lot.

Speaker A

Like she's become a little bit of a whiz.

Speaker A

I go on chat GPT every now and again I just ask it stuff like I don't really understand how to use it but I watched a seminar yesterday of Daniel Priestley, another guy.

Speaker A

Yeah that did key person of influence and all of those books and he's talked about AI and he was like times have shifted where before having like a business brand is what got your clients but now it's a personal brand and it's all about you as the person and because of AI coming in and in two years time he's like everything's going to be taken over by AI, Those people with a personal brand.

Speaker A

AI will help, help you take off even more.

Speaker A

But those who only have a business brand, it's not going to work and you're going to be here and everyone else who's using AI and has a personal brand is going to be here.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

And that's what you said in your.

Speaker A

On your chat at the Expo about getting you out there rather than hiding behind pictures of the dogs.

Speaker B

I built my entire business and brand.

Speaker B

Well, my, my business name now is Charlotte Faith Socials.

Speaker B

Like, I changed it on purpose so it was a personal brand.

Speaker B

So I know it shows that person, pet business, sport.

Speaker B

But if you look at Charlotte Faith Socials, yeah, I did that on purpose because my entire business is based around me.

Speaker B

I'm selling me my energy, my, my, my knowledge, my things.

Speaker B

You can go to loads of people about marketing, but people come to me because it's me, you know, it's.

Speaker A

They like you, it's got, you know, yes, you're good at it, but they're buying from you personally.

Speaker A

The same.

Speaker A

Same with the pet account.

Speaker A

They don't necessarily come to us because we're good accountants, which, no, we are, but they, they come to us because they know our face.

Speaker A

They, they see my face everywhere.

Speaker A

People always get on the phone or they see us at cross and go, I see your face everywhere.

Speaker A

Like, it's ridiculous.

Speaker A

Like, you're everywhere.

Speaker A

And I'm like, yeah, I know, on purpose.

Speaker A

But it's not the pet accountant that's everywhere, it's this.

Speaker A

That's everywhere.

Speaker A

And, you know, we laugh because every time we get, like, a good review, like, and Lee, I know Lee's watching.

Speaker A

He won't know this yet because I haven't told him.

Speaker A

But every time we get a review, even if, like, Lee's done the tax return, I always get thanked for it every time.

Speaker A

We had a chuckle this morning because we have a Tuesday meeting every morning and every Tuesday.

Speaker A

And Abby was like, oh, we've got another, another good review in.

Speaker A

Oh, and it's mentioned Vicky again.

Speaker A

Vicky, did you do attacked return?

Speaker A

I was like, no, but it just.

Speaker A

I'll take the go.

Speaker A

And it happens to every time.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

Which has just become a bit of a.

Speaker A

Bit of an inside joke now that it's always me that gets thanked, but that's because people associate the pet accountant with my face and, and because it's a personal brand and, you know, it does help.

Speaker A

And that's why I know you said, like, You've got to get yourself out there.

Speaker A

You know, the people who were looking for a dog walker when I was looking.

Speaker A

When I moved back to the Northeast and I was looking for a dog walker.

Speaker A

The reason we went for Alicia, who's now one of our closest friends and who's with the maid of honor at our wedding next year, is.

Speaker A

Is because she came across more personable and her.

Speaker A

Rather than just a website with I walk dogs, here's my prices.

Speaker A

She got on the phone, she chatted.

Speaker A

She was just naturally herself.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

And she didn't sell.

Speaker A

She was just herself on the phone.

Speaker A

And then came and, like, had the meeting treat or whatever she called it.

Speaker A

And she was so good with the dogs and she was just so lovely that the reason we picked her was because of her, not because she, you know, had insurance or new first aid, all of that sort of stuff.

Speaker A

It.

Speaker A

It was because of her.

Speaker A

We don't go anywhere else now.

Speaker A

No.

Speaker B

And I know how much you love your dogs.

Speaker B

Like, they are your babies, aren't they?

Speaker B

Pieces.

Speaker B

And I always think when I'm helping pet pros with their socials, like, my dogs are my world.

Speaker B

Like, they are my world.

Speaker B

How am I supposed to trust you if I cannot just see, like, a photo of you?

Speaker B

I can't speak to you.

Speaker A

It's.

Speaker B

It's just bonkers.

Speaker B

How people to leave is arguably the most important thing in their lives.

Speaker B

And I'm.

Speaker B

You've got just a logo that I'm looking at and some pictures of dogs.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

And like I said, dogs are your children.

Speaker A

Like Frank, Mabel, Fifi, like that, our children.

Speaker A

And especially Frank, obviously, because he was mine.

Speaker A

From a puppy.

Speaker A

Like, he's my absolute prince.

Speaker A

And I'm not going to let just anyone.

Speaker A

I don't care whether you've got insurance or certificate.

Speaker A

Obviously, that's important stuff.

Speaker A

And I will ask, but I'm more concerned about you as a person.

Speaker A

And can I trust you to take my dogs away, out of my control, to somewhere where I don't know where you are and know that they're going to be safe.

Speaker A

And the only way I can understand that is by you showing up and showing me you.

Speaker A

Yeah, same with you.

Speaker A

You know, when I got you four years ago, it was because of you, not because you were good at your job.

Speaker A

It's because we got on and I thought, oh, you know, we're going to get on and I need it and she's good and let's do it.

Speaker A

People buy from people and I think we just need to.

Speaker A

And it's awful.

Speaker A

I hate, I hate, like, doing the Expo.

Speaker A

I was absolutely crapping my pants and everyone was like, oh, no, but you do all the podcasts and stuff.

Speaker A

Yeah, but I don't see anyone.

Speaker A

Could you imagine everyone?

Speaker A

And I stood there at the front and I just had like 180 eyes just staring at me.

Speaker A

And we had this whole, like, thing planned.

Speaker A

I had my cue cards, Tegan was.

Speaker A

Had hers, and we'd planned who was going to go.

Speaker A

When Tegan dropped.

Speaker A

Tegan dropped hers on the floor all mixed up.

Speaker A

I didn't bring my glasses, so I couldn't read what I'd written.

Speaker A

So I was just like, in the end, we didn't know it.

Speaker A

Like, you know, it is what it is.

Speaker A

Hi, everyone.

Speaker A

Welcome to the export.

Speaker A

In this way a bit.

Speaker A

I honestly was cracking my pants.

Speaker A

So I know how hard it is for some people to see that face.

Speaker B

But when they first started working with you and I remember just asking you photos of yourself and it was like pulling teeth, like, literally to send me just a singular selfie or just do a little video was nigh on impossible.

Speaker B

So I was so glad when Tegan was like, well, I can just film you straight in your face because I'm with you all the time.

Speaker B

Because honestly, it was so tricky at.

Speaker A

The beginning, but isn't it and that.

Speaker B

Now look at you, you know, all right, yes.

Speaker B

Flourishing butterfly, of course, things at you.

Speaker B

Like, before I go and do a live on Instagram, before doing this, I'm always a bit like, we're gonna, we're gonna do this now.

Speaker B

But the same respect, you know, I know how important it is that people go, oh, you know, Charles talked amazing on Vicky's podcast and, and listen to them both speak to each other and oh, I'd love a relationship with somebody like that.

Speaker B

Or whatever the situation is.

Speaker B

That always translates, I think, through seeing people rather than just relying on a few words.

Speaker A

Yeah, no, 100%.

Speaker A

So if you do struggle with your social media, please go on Charlotte's membership and she can put a little tag on here once we're done.

Speaker A

Get yourself on there and get it done.

Speaker A

Get your face out there more.

Speaker A

Everyone wants to see lovely face.

Speaker A

No one wants us to see a logo.

Speaker A

We need to see your face.

Speaker A

Yeah, so do that.

Speaker A

So what are you going to chat about?

Speaker A

Very briefly, because we're going to give too much away.

Speaker A

What are we chatting about in next year's Expo?

Speaker A

Because you are having back, everyone has demanded that you come back.

Speaker A

And like I said, social media is such a Wide topic that there's no way we could cover it in one hour session.

Speaker B

So no, no good.

Speaker B

My goodness.

Speaker B

I could probably, we could probably do a spin off expo if you wanted to in the future.

Speaker B

We just did social media.

Speaker B

Social media but didn't cover half of it.

Speaker B

You know, it's one of those things.

Speaker B

So I, I've obviously spoke to Vicky and we, I've understood what the feedback was from what I spoke about and this was very much about like strategy this time or why it's important.

Speaker B

Now next year I'm going to be telling you how we get those results, how we do it.

Speaker B

So like, like we just said there an hour slot, I could get you through the basics of it.

Speaker B

Now we're going to take it up a notch and we're going to do how to put together a good post and how do we know what post is and things like that.

Speaker B

So yeah, I'm not going to give too much away because obviously it's well worth attending for all the speakers.

Speaker B

But if you want to know how to do a good social media post, it is way more than just the post.

Speaker B

I'll say that.

Speaker B

We'll give that away.

Speaker B

It's way more than just the post.

Speaker A

Yeah and I know that from experience, like I, you know, I don't get any of it.

Speaker A

This is why I have Tegan to do it because it just boggles my brains of the stuff she does on co pilot and like how she does all the posts and the algorithms and the all OS and how things are positioned and you know, all of that stuff.

Speaker A

And it does make a difference.

Speaker A

It does make a massive difference.

Speaker A

So yes, we have Charlotte back 3rd October next year for the Expo.

Speaker A

We've got a very eclectic mix of speakers that cover a very ranging.

Speaker B

Market.

Speaker A

In the pet industry.

Speaker A

So obviously Bill Zen, I know he's more grooming related but again the topics are generic people, so it's for everybody.

Speaker A

But we, I always try and get speakers that cover the sector as a whole.

Speaker A

So Dom obviously is more sort of daycare boarding sort of related.

Speaker A

So he's got that area covered and then we've got a couple of tricks up our sleeve for a few other speakers.

Speaker A

So it is for everyone and I can't stress that enough, it's not just for one sector, we've got everyone covered and like I said, all of the speakers are going to do generic topics.

Speaker A

So you could even be a bloody corner shop owner and it would still be relevant.

Speaker B

Yeah, well like I said, Bill's mindset thing I absolutely loved.

Speaker B

Like, to be fair, I've never really fallen for the north south divide when it comes to money and nobody's got money.

Speaker B

Like you only have to look outside, go to a, go to a shopping center at the minute and tell me nobody's got money because it's rammed.

Speaker B

And I was thinking, but even, yeah, even just listening to him, like, I knew I was much calmer getting on that stage and I was like, you know what, he's 100% right and I've got nothing to do with grooming.

Speaker A

So yeah, no, and this is it.

Speaker A

Mindset goes across the board.

Speaker A

Social media goes across the board.

Speaker A

Obviously we've got Romany coming back who is an amazing financial advisor and she's going to be talking about how to make your money work for you.

Speaker A

So talking about stocks and shares and ISAs and things that people just, you know, goes over your head.

Speaker A

And again, that's a thing I'm useless at as well, weirdly.

Speaker A

But so, yes, we've got everyone covered and it's going to be a fabulous day with no storms.

Speaker A

Air con for all.

Speaker A

It was slightly, slightly toasty on the last one.

Speaker A

We, we all ended up in our pants and bras.

Speaker A

It's very inclusive.

Speaker A

We did strict.

Speaker A

We did strip Kevin off at the beginning.

Speaker A

What I could do is I could.

Speaker B

Set up a little store selling fans just in case.

Speaker A

Well, I mean, business idea that would have been lucrative a few months ago because it was a bit hot.

Speaker A

But don't worry people, we have spoken to the aircon we'll be working for next October, it was very sweaty in that room and we did strip a guest as well.

Speaker A

So, you know, all things happen at the Expo.

Speaker A

Nothing is off limits.

Speaker A

I ran round like a crazy bingo lady with the microphone.

Speaker A

But I'll be bringing more staff with me this time so I don't have to run around like a crazy person with the microphone phone.

Speaker A

But I did get my steps in, so we're all good.

Speaker A

And just a quick question and, and I know you mentioned about the ads like Chuck and a tenor in it.

Speaker A

That's what I used to do when I first started was I'd do an ad because I didn't really know what they were and how it worked and I thought, I know when you do a post and says, do you want to boost this post?

Speaker A

And you're like, yeah.

Speaker A

And then you're like, yeah, 10 pound.

Speaker A

And then obviously don't fucking work because it's like you've chucked a tenner at it now I follow various business people online.

Speaker A

Um, don't really know how ethical we are, but hey ho.

Speaker A

But they say, oh, like in order to have a good Facebook ads, for it to go out you need to chuck like hundreds of pounds at it per month.

Speaker A

Is that the case or like, is there a sweet spot that you know of, of money?

Speaker A

I mean, obviously tenor ain't going to do nothing, but do you need to chuck 500 quid at it a month to.

Speaker B

It depends on your goal, really.

Speaker B

Like, I've got an ad running at the minute and my budget on is like two pound a day.

Speaker B

Like it's not.

Speaker B

But, but like anything, the more money you put in and you've done it properly.

Speaker A

Like this is.

Speaker B

We have in somebody who knows what they're doing.

Speaker A

Exactly.

Speaker B

Like having an accountant.

Speaker B

Exactly.

Speaker B

Having anybody, somebody who knows what they're doing will pay for themselves.

Speaker B

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B

So, you know, it's better off having somebody who's an ad specialist or social media specialist or whatever and speaking to them and going, right, how do we do this?

Speaker B

Because there are custom audiences, they can use your email list, they can, they can split and test things.

Speaker B

They need to be test.

Speaker B

There's no point in my opinion, just going, I'll chuck a ten on this, I'll chuck 50 quid on there.

Speaker B

I feel like it's just a waste of money because all a boosted post is do is go to the audience that you've.

Speaker B

It doesn't know enough.

Speaker B

Whereas when you sell ad from scratch, an ad from scratch and you've got the right audiences and you've done all the testing, that ad is worth its weight in gold.

Speaker B

So like I said, I have ads where it's just a freebie that I'm just got at the moment.

Speaker B

If I chuck 2 pound a day on it at the minute, I might get four emails a day.

Speaker B

So I'm not making any money off it.

Speaker B

We're getting four, you know, emails a day.

Speaker B

And then when I do my challenges, that could be up to like 50, 60 pound a day dependent on how many people I want.

Speaker B

Yeah, it's like, well, I was speaking to, to my mum by this yesterday and we having a conversation about it, it's like going to the bank and saying, well, here's 400 pound and you, you're giving them and you're shaking because you're like, here's 400 pound of my money and I'm giving you 600 pound back.

Speaker B

That's how a good ad.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

So, no, I don't Believe in.

Speaker B

You have to chuck millions of schoolions of pounds on to a benefit of an ad.

Speaker B

But the same as anything, the more you put in, if you've set it up correctly, the more you should get out.

Speaker B

So, yeah, if you're looking at running ads, speak to an ad specialist and they should be able to help you work out where it's worth for any money.

Speaker B

Because one thing a lot of people do now at the moment as well is they go, oh, I won't run ads because it's Christmas time and nobody, you know, nobody's gonna buy anything.

Speaker B

Well, everybody's doing the same thing right now.

Speaker B

So even from a social media.

Speaker B

Ok, organic, don't chuck any money at it, just post in, get your posts out, because nobody else now.

Speaker B

So, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker B

I think it's.

Speaker B

There's lots of.

Speaker B

Again, it's all opinionated, isn't it?

Speaker B

There's all these myths that people say, oh, if you just do this and spin on the spot and clap three times, your ad will not work.

Speaker B

Yeah, it's.

Speaker B

It's set up.

Speaker B

People say, you know, you won't get any results from social media that put in money behind it.

Speaker B

Absolute bull crap.

Speaker B

Like, I've my ads running on Facebook, my Instagram, I've had about 500 new pet pros follow me this week and that's completely organic.

Speaker B

Social media doesn't just.

Speaker A

What is that, an ad on Instagram or an ad on Facebook?

Speaker B

Not even an ad.

Speaker B

It's not even an ad that's coming back of one of my carousels because the algorithms changed recently.

Speaker B

But we won't go into too much about that because I can speak all the way on, but it's bullcrap that doesn't work without ads.

Speaker B

You can absolutely do specials.

Speaker A

Well, watch the space, guys.

Speaker A

I will do an ad on the Expo and we'll see if it works.

Speaker A

And I will.

Speaker A

I've always been intrigued about Facebook ads.

Speaker A

We've never had to be in a lucky position where we've never had to use Facebook ads for the accountant side of things.

Speaker A

But I've always been intrigued to see if I could get them to work.

Speaker A

So I'm going to test the theory, guys, and I'm going to do an ad on the Expo.

Speaker A

So let me know if you see it on your Facebook if it comes up on your news feed and we'll give it a whirl and you can let me know if you see it.

Speaker B

Yeah, but like I said, yeah, before you go just chucking random money at it, make sure it's like an ad set up from scratch and, you know.

Speaker B

Oh, yeah, set up.

Speaker B

No, you haven't just click, boost post 50 quid.

Speaker A

Like.

Speaker A

Oh, no, just, you know, boosting post maintain.

Speaker A

Are gonna have a crack at it later and see, see what we can do so you can give us some honest feedback, guys when we do it.

Speaker A

And the next time I come on after the Christmas break, I'll let you know if it worked.

Speaker A

Yeah, yeah, I'll be like.

Speaker A

I'll be like, chuck 400 quid.

Speaker A

It got absolutely subtle.

Speaker A

Lesson learned.

Speaker A

Use a professional.

Speaker B

Literally, I made a 400 pound mistake.

Speaker B

So you didn't have to.

Speaker A

Yeah, don't ask Vicky about Facebook ads because it flopped.

Speaker A

But I'm going to give it a whirl.

Speaker A

We'll see.

Speaker A

Well, like, we'll see.

Speaker A

We'll chuck a 5 rally a day or something, see what happens.

Speaker A

See if we sell any tickets.

Speaker A

They are 50 sold out already, guys, which is amazing.

Speaker A

We only have 100 left because the 200 capacity, 100 have already gone within the first month.

Speaker A

So if you do want to take it, grab one or just wait for the ad to come out and get it from the ad.

Speaker A

So then I feel like it's worked.

Speaker B

I feel like if you put five pound a day and you want people to buy, you probably won't end up getting matched because if you.

Speaker A

Oh, so I need to put more in.

Speaker B

If you want people to purchase, your ad spend's usually higher.

Speaker A

Right?

Speaker A

So what, what you talking, like 50 kind?

Speaker B

I like seven or nine.

Speaker A

Ah, bloody hell.

Speaker A

I'll have it for a week.

Speaker B

What if 50 pound a day equaled, let's say, three people purchasing?

Speaker A

Yeah, but what if it equals zero people purchasing?

Speaker B

Gamble.

Speaker A

Money's a gamble, guys.

Speaker A

It's a gamble.

Speaker A

Are we gambling?

Speaker A

Are we.

Speaker A

Am I a gambling lady?

Speaker A

Yes, I am.

Speaker A

I did when we went to Vegas.

Speaker A

I know you're a fan of Vegas as well.

Speaker A

We win a little bit of money.

Speaker A

I mean, I'm talking like it was like a hundred dollars.

Speaker A

It wasn't even Mason and Tegan.

Speaker A

Was that right?

Speaker A

We'll.

Speaker A

We know, we'll put it in all strategically.

Speaker A

I went, I went, sod it, Red.

Speaker A

Because we're on the roulette table.

Speaker A

Because that's the only one I know how.

Speaker A

It's the only one I know how to play.

Speaker A

I don't really understand the card ones.

Speaker A

So it's either the slot machines, because you just put the money in and pull the thing, or the roulette table, because I get how you do it.

Speaker A

So I was, oh, no, let's live a little.

Speaker A

Let's whack it all on red.

Speaker A

Of course black came out, didn't it?

Speaker A

Yeah, that was the end of that.

Speaker A

Oh, no, she's put.

Speaker A

She put.

Speaker A

It was over 150.

Speaker A

Oh, well.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

So a few hundred dollars.

Speaker A

We put 20 quid in.

Speaker A

We're up a couple of hundred dollars and I just whacked it all on red and black came out.

Speaker A

To make it.

Speaker B

Be honest, what's the worst with an ad?

Speaker B

I could have killed you.

Speaker A

But for that 30 seconds, I had the best time because I was like, oh, is it gonna come out?

Speaker A

Let's live a little.

Speaker A

Let's chuck it all in red.

Speaker A

And obviously, like, yeah, it didn't come out.

Speaker A

And I was sad after that, but for that split second, I was looking like.

Speaker A

I was like, yeah, yeah, gamble.

Speaker A

So we'll see what happens.

Speaker A

Watch this space.

Speaker A

Come on.

Speaker B

She has now on Facebook ads, same principle.

Speaker A

All in.

Speaker A

You're just gonna go all in.

Speaker A

I'll go home.

Speaker A

I feel like I'll come on in January for an update and be like, yep, so, yeah, it didn't work with cardboard box.

Speaker A

Yeah, spent 500 quid.

Speaker A

It didn't work.

Speaker A

So there we go.

Speaker A

But, you know, if I can test it out, why not?

Speaker A

We'll give it a whirl, but we'll.

Speaker B

Send more than fiverr is a test.

Speaker A

Everything is.

Speaker A

So you're thinking 50 pound a day for a week.

Speaker B

No, I'm not thinking 50 pound.

Speaker A

I.

Speaker B

Like I said, I can't.

Speaker B

I'm gonna caveat this with.

Speaker B

I'm not an art specialist for the 55th time before, but for yours, for.

Speaker A

Your challenge, how much is you.

Speaker B

My challenge again, I wasn't asking people to purchase anything.

Speaker B

I was asking them sign up.

Speaker B

So the thing is, like.

Speaker B

So you would have to work out what.

Speaker B

What you cost per click is this is where it all gets very, very, very.

Speaker B

Because for me, for example, an email is 40 pence.

Speaker B

That's what it equates to at the moment for your email costing me 40 pence if I want you to purchase something.

Speaker B

So when I run the challenge and then open the membership doors and I targeted my ad at the people who'd signed up to the challenge because you can use email list for that.

Speaker B

It was like 4 pound a click.

Speaker B

So that was.

Speaker B

That's.

Speaker B

That sale for 20, 25 pound cost me 4 pound.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker B

So it is going to be dependent.

Speaker B

But I.

Speaker B

The thing is, I wouldn't just go in, chuck 50 quid.

Speaker B

In it because it needs a testing period.

Speaker B

You're going to have to bed it in.

Speaker B

It's a whole science.

Speaker A

Well, you pick your brains after that.

Speaker A

Seven before I just go.

Speaker A

Can work.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker A

There we go.

Speaker A

Right.

Speaker A

Perfect.

Speaker A

Right, well, we shall call it a day for today.

Speaker A
