[00:02] Hey. Hey, guys. What's up? Welcome back to another episode of the Smart Flip,

[00:07] the podcast for anyone who's looking to master phone flipping and turn side hustles into serious profits. I'm your host. My name is Chris Roeder. I've been flipping phones for going on nine years at this point.

[00:17] Today we're going to be diving into some tips, tricks and strategies with Victor,

[00:22] who's an 18 year old who's literally making 10 grand in profit a month just in a couple of months. But before we get started, I want to make sure that you guys do have my 2025 ultimate guide.

[00:35] Ultimate phone flipping guide. We just relaunched it. You can find it in my Facebook group.

[00:40] And we have our book, it's called the Tech Flips to Profit ebook.

[00:44] You can find the audio version for free on episode 11 of the podcast, and if you want the PDF file, you can buy it for $4.95. That's. That's how I'm making all my money.

[00:56] Just so you guys know. Just kidding. But. But grab. Grab a copy if you want. Or you can listen to the episode that has it for free. And let's rock and roll and get started.

[01:07] Victor, dude, tell us how you got in the game, man.

[01:11] All right, so I basically first started out, I'd say like roughly five months ago.

[01:17] I started off with like an iPhone 8. Bought it for like 50 bucks. It was cracked. I sold it for like 70. So I was like, okay, 20 bucks is like 20 bucks to me, you know?

[01:27] So that's how I first started.

[01:30] And then I started watching videos, like, trying to like, learn how to improve my.

[01:35] My flipping game. And I came across across Chris, and he was like showing us like this, all this whiteboard videos. I learned a lot from Chris, to be honest. So that's how I first got started off, you know?

[01:47] Do you like my white whiteboard videos?

[01:49] Oh, yeah, man. Those definitely helped a lot. For sure.

[01:52] That's awesome. Glad. I'm glad those helped because, like, I was wondering if those would even make sense because I wasn't showing, like, actually how to do something with those videos. Yeah, I was showing like a big overview of how to do them,

[02:07] but I personally like doing them too because it helps me, you know, mind frame a couple of things. But, dude, you've only been doing this for five months.

[02:17] Yeah, pretty much.

[02:18] What resources have you tapped into? I know I helped you set up your Facebook ads. Are those still running?

[02:24] Definitely, yeah. So Facebook ads are running. I actually had to hire somebody else to do it because Some guy in San Diego as well. He had like, had your same like ads and same hooks.

[02:35] And I was like, okay, well if we're going to do the same thing, I got to be different, like hire somebody else. So I got some else to do my ads right now.

[02:42] I got Google Ads going, I got website,

[02:46] I have social media going as well. I'm posting on Instagram and TikTok to improve my, my leads.

[02:53] Yeah.

[02:53] And then just so far, just reaching out as well. Always reach out like at least a hundred a day I would say at the minimum. Yeah.

[03:00] Oh, you need our retail tool then automate that stuff.

[03:02] But definitely.

[03:04] Yeah. My guys now, they don't, they don't do that manually ever.

[03:08] Oh shoot.

[03:09] It's all automated at this point, so. But yeah, 100 reach outs a day and you're doing that manually. What do you do?

[03:16] Yeah, manually.

[03:17] 7:00Am and start doing that every morning.

[03:19] Honestly, where I'm at like close to San Diego, there's deals coming out like constantly. So I can like see a phone on my, I have like a, like a app called Swoopa and using that it like shoots me deals and I can just find like these good *** deals that are like really cheap because here and where I'm at is like phones are coming out constantly that I can just nick and pick what deals are good and not

[03:44] good to pick up.

[03:45] It's awesome, dude.

[03:46] Cool.

[03:47] So you're using Swoopa, that's another app similar to Marketplace Monitor, similar to Resale Hawk, similar to all of them.

[03:53] That's awesome, dude. Well, yeah. Now all you need is something sending the messages for you. Exactly.

[04:01] So I want to talk. You started five months ago. How much did you do your very first month?

[04:08] I wasn't really tracking too much. I would say probably like 2 to like 2.5k first month.

[04:15] Not bad, dude.

[04:16] Yeah.

[04:17] What, what got you? Like,

[04:19] what made you? What made. I always like to ask what was the click? You know, like when did it click that you could actually make money doing this? Like, no.

[04:28] Like I remember telling my parents, like, I'm gonna go full time flipping phones and electronics. And I was in college, you know, making nothing at the restaurant.

[04:37] So it was like they were obviously very hesitant, but I just doubled the amount I made at my job.

[04:45] And I was like, that was my click. Right. So what was the click for you?

[04:50] Hmm. I mean like I always thought reselling was like the main thing because for example, grocery stores do it, clothing stores do it, everyone buys low sellers, sells higher. Like it's Just everyone does it.

[05:03] So I noticed that like right away. Like, even buying my first phone, it was like 20 bucks profitable. I was like, okay, 20 bucks profit. I can get more quantity, get more volume and make like triple my money if I just consistently buy and buy.

[05:17] So I just noticed that like, over time, the more I bought, the more money I made. That's pretty much what I've noticed so far.

[05:24] More volume you move, the more money you make. That's just how the game works, right?

[05:28] Yeah.

[05:29] I can phrase it in another way. The more offers you make, the more devices you get.

[05:33] You know that too. Yeah.

[05:34] Like, let's be. How many offers are you making per day on average? Oh, man, I like dollar amounts to people.

[05:42] Yeah. I would not even like, know. Like, I do so much reach outs. I have Facebook ads running. So I mean,

[05:50] offers probably around like a hundred. Like 100 at 120 a day.

[05:56] That's awesome. That's.

[05:57] Yeah.

[05:58] So you're probably buying close to seven to 10 devices a day then.

[06:02] Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah.

[06:04] Just for everybody listening, I say this all the time. The amount of money you make is directly proportional to how many offers you're making per day. That's what it is. I mean, it, it's.

[06:14] I mean, and you're starting to realize this now, Victor, this whole, this whole business is numbers game,

[06:19] right? Like, oh yeah. More people you talk. Even at the level you're like, you're working with Aaron now. Like, you're buying phones directly from him now. And like, even at that level, it's the same thing.

[06:28] The more people you talk to, you know, it just, it's just a little different when you start dealing with other buyers because they usually have more devices. Right?

[06:36] Exactly. Yeah.

[06:37] And. But it's the same game. You just make, you just connect with enough people, make enough offers, and this is the same game over and over again. Even at the highest level, they need sellers and they have to connect with sellers.

[06:49] And that's just, it's always.

[06:51] Yeah.

[06:52] So I love that you're figuring that out very early.

[06:56] Yeah. Yeah, for sure.

[06:58] That's awesome. What was one of the biggest things you've learned so far in the past five months? Takeaway.

[07:05] I mean, I'll probably say, like taking losses. Like you're gonna lose money on some deals. Like, I bought phones before. I don't check like the camera, it starts like making noise,

[07:15] things like that. I always,

[07:18] always learn from those mistakes and then never do it again. Because like now like, I check phones properly, I make sure the port Works. I make sure the speakers work.

[07:27] Like there's like this like little things that if you don't check and you try to sell it to like someone that like buys phones consistently, like a direct buyer, and they catch on to like those little, little mistakes, they might, you know, deduct money enough.

[07:41] You, they might try and like say that you're like not checking the phones. Well, so I mean, biggest takeaway would just be properly inspecting the phone before you actually purchase it and then always try and like negotiate a bit less if it's like, you know, the speakers are like sounding off or the charter port doesn't really go in too well because I've like lost a lot of money just not checking phones,

[08:02] you know. So.

[08:02] Yeah, make sure that charger port works.

[08:05] Yeah.

[08:06] The other day, this one here, it charges. I can connect it to the charger.

[08:13] Yeah.

[08:14] But it doesn't connect to itunes.

[08:16] And I was like,

[08:18] I have never seen that problem before ever. Like,

[08:21] because I bought it because it was passcode locked but not icloud locked. And I was like, all right, cool. I can reset this when I get home. Nope.

[08:30] I was like, all right, I guess that's something I gotta start checking for on my meetups. I've never seen that problem before.

[08:36] Oh, man.

[08:36] Yeah, like that. It's that gradual increase of knowledge you gain along the way with every deal. I have a saying that with my students, it's like every deal is a learning opportunity, whether you win or whether you lose.

[08:48] Like if you lose, it's only going to make you better. But some people in the beginning, and I'm glad you started this five months ago because a lot of people have it, either it took them,

[09:01] you know, a year or two to get to the numbers that you're at, or they never got there at all. And it's because of those little screw ups that put them down.

[09:11] They think that this business is all wins. Right. When you're dealing with a bunch of devices over a hundred a month,

[09:18] you're gonna lose some. That's just the case.

[09:20] Definitely. Yeah.

[09:22] So. But like at 18 years old, did you know that in the beginning?

[09:26] Oh, I didn't. I expect to lose was like 100 bucks on the phone. Like almost close to getting like scammed before. It's just, you know, walk us through.

[09:35] How it felt like when you lost your first a hundred dollars on a phone. Like, how did it feel and what did you do? Like, what was, what went through your mind?

[09:43] Man, I was thinking, like, I wasn't too like demotivated But I definitely felt like I was, like, losing my, like, security doing this because I recently didn't have a job. I was just doing like this in the summertime.

[09:57] And,

[09:58] like, it just made me feel like this money I lost was, like, gonna take me, like, down so many,

[10:05] like, a path where I'm not gonna make money anymore. But I just noticed that, like, after the little small hit that you take, you gain more knowledge, you start doing like, you.

[10:15] You move a lot better. Like, after that first loss. So I started to take more steps to learn about more phones, how to inspect little tiny things that I had no idea about,

[10:26] and, oh, also like, checking for MDM locks on the phone. Because I bought a phone,

[10:32] it was like an iPhone 13 for like 250.

[10:36] And I realized when I got back home it was MDM locked. And I took a massive hit on that one too. So.

[10:41] Yep. Yeah, man. You live and you learn, right?

[10:44] Exactly. Yeah.

[10:46] Thing is, you can't come into the business knowing everything right away. You know, I can think that's one thing that.

[10:52] That puts a lot of people off is they'll,

[10:56] like, they. They think they have to know everything about the business before they actually start.

[11:01] And like, that. That actually isn't the most ideal way to learn because you don't have a point of reference, like, in the business to point from or to have or to have some experience from.

[11:11] A lot of people just kind of sit on the sidelines and watch and they're like, I wish I could do that.

[11:16] You can. Like, it's not that hard. It's a very easy business to like, yeah, you're gonna lose. I lose all the time. Like, do. I mean, I post about it publicly too.

[11:27] Like, I lost on an iPad one time, like, about. About a month ago, like an iPad Pro. I didn't realize it had an LCD burn around the sides. That was my fault.

[11:37] I didn't check. Yeah, it was very subtle, you know, And I was like, ****, there goes my profit right down the drain.

[11:46] I was like, all right, let me sell and cut my losses.

[11:48] Oh, man. I recently bought a MacBook the same way, had LCD burns around the screen. And I was like, shoot. Oh, you know, I can use it personally or just sell it to somebody that maybe would use it.

[11:59] So, yeah, I mean, it's little things like that when you lose that, you remember every time you meet up with somebody again, and it's like, I need to check that. Yeah, just.

[12:10] Just because that one time kind of thing, and that's not really something I Can teach either. Like, because you can't like it with our students and everything. Like, you can't show every single problem that there possibly could be.

[12:23] Like, oh, yeah, it's very. Like this whole itunes thing with this phone.

[12:28] I've never run into that problem doing this for years. And, you know, it's one of those issues that I've just. All right, well, whatever, you know.

[12:37] Yeah,

[12:39] but so you started this at 18, been doing it for five months,

[12:45] and you're already at 10. And it's 10,000 net profit, right?

[12:48] Correct. Yeah. Just straight profit after expenses. Yeah.

[12:52] And what are your expenses? Like, let's. Let's go over that with that.

[12:55] Okay. Yeah.

[12:56] What are the.

[12:56] I'll be honest. It's not like too much like, swoopa is like 200 bucks a month. I have the cost of ads per month, obviously. And there's little things like shipping, supplies.

[13:10] What else do I pay for the website costs to, like, have it running. I pay my guy, like, a commission to pick up phones for me too, in the city because sometimes it's too much for me to drive back and forth across.

[13:22] Like,

[13:23] because I'm in San Diego, I have so many different locations. So I have a guy picking up phone. Sometimes I pay him commission,

[13:31] but pretty much there's nothing like, really, like, too crazy about my operations or marketing costs. It's just the ads, the basic necessities to actually run the business correctly and. Yeah, pretty much those two main components.

[13:44] Awesome, dude.

[13:46] Yeah.

[13:47] So the thing I love about this business is there's almost no the things. That's.

[13:51] What I know is so big. Yeah. Yeah.

[13:54] That's all. Yeah. Usually the. The running costs of the business every month are like anywhere between. It's about 500 if that. Like about 500 once you get everything going. Like, if you're in my stuff, like resale decks in 97 website and all, like resale Hawk is.

[14:13] Well, everything is free if you're in the program. But.

[14:17] But yeah, like, it's not a lot to run things. And that's what the one thing I really love about this business is. Because the barrier of entry is so low.

[14:25] You don't. You don't need any of that in the beginning.

[14:29] Start just DMing people on Marketplace, on offerup and all of that.

[14:35] What's your message that you send out to people?

[14:38] Oh, good question. It's the one that everyone off your probably like in your courses.

[14:43] Everybody's using that. I need to change it up then.

[14:45] Oh, man.

[14:46] If everybody over again is.

[14:48] Because the only Thing is, because I noticed I put, like, a phone on, like, Marketplace locally just to see, like, who, like, comes in and I had two messages the same way that you say, like, hi, run a business.

[15:00] I had two of those and I was like, if I'm using it too, it's gonna be, like, kind of weirdest.

[15:05] I need to change it up because now we got people using Resale Hawk and they're using the same message.

[15:11] I need to filter out a little bit, I guess.

[15:14] Yeah.

[15:17] I'll come up with a new message, definitely.

[15:20] Yeah.

[15:20] That way we can switch it up. Because I think with a lot of people using it, it could get flagged in the future.

[15:28] Possibly, anyway, but it should probably be,

[15:32] hey, my name is Victor. I run Blank business name.

[15:37] It's something like that. Make it even more professional, right?

[15:40] Oh, yeah.

[15:41] Maybe try that out that way. Do you have a Google my business yet?

[15:45] Currently? No, it's just the verification process, you know.

[15:50] Yeah, I'm actually working on a back door for that right now, so. Yeah, hell here lately, but Cool. Well, dude, what is the goal for the future? Like, what do you, like,

[16:01] do you want to phone flip for ever, or do you want to just use it as a stepping stone into something better? What's the goal?

[16:09] I mean, my goal so far is just to keep on doing what I'm doing. And if I find opportunities to like, like, pivot to a different, like, industry,

[16:19] I probably would. But for right now, like, what I'm doing so far, I feel. First of all, I feel happy. Like, I'm very flexible on time now. I can, like, work my own hours.

[16:30] You don't have a boss, like, telling you what to do. And that's the main thing. I really, like, hated at jobs where, like, people would tell me all this stuff that I got to do and I was getting paid by the hour, you know, so it's just.

[16:43] Yeah, doing this, definitely just stick to it. And then if I can just go to a different opportunity, it's gonna probably be the same buy low, sell highs. It's probably gonna be a different product.

[16:53] Yeah.

[16:54] Yeah.

[16:56] So as, like, aren't you in school as well?

[17:00] Yeah.

[17:00] What are you going for in school?

[17:02] Studying business marketing, so.

[17:04] Oh, well, you're in the perfect business for that.

[17:07] Yeah, pretty much. Yeah.

[17:10] I went. I never. So I'm a big marketer, but I don't have a degree at all in marketing.

[17:16] It always amazes me, like, after you get past that, like, school phase, which you're probably still in the middle of right now, you Start realizing how.

[17:25] Because I went to college twice and,

[17:31] like, I learned a lot. I will say that however, the stuff that I did learn was not applicable about two years later.

[17:43] Like, it didn't. It didn't work. Like, the same stuff didn't work anymore. And that in that, you know,

[17:50] I learned that pretty quick. And, And I know, like, college is a lot of times usually way behind in marketing. Way behind.

[17:58] Best way to learn how to market is to actually get out there and do it. Because what is marketing? Marketing is putting words and images in front of people and seeing if they respond to it.

[18:07] Yeah, that's it.

[18:09] Pretty much. Oh, yeah.

[18:11] And if they do, congratulations, you. You start a conversation, so.

[18:15] Exactly.

[18:16] I think a lot of people don't realize how,

[18:19] like, simple marketing is. Like, being simple is the best way forward.

[18:24] And I know when we set up your ads,

[18:27] I mean, I think I told you the most important thing is the image by far.

[18:31] Exactly, yeah.

[18:33] Like, and just changing it out multiple times and you know that that's how you win, is you just test more than everybody else.

[18:43] Exactly, yeah.

[18:44] And just start, like, for everybody listening. You can't just start one ad and expect it to work. It'll probably work, but it won't work as good as it could.

[18:52] Exactly.

[18:53] You have to split test you. Which means test multiple images all at once. I like to call it throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks.

[19:00] Yeah, exactly.

[19:02] And if you do that enough, you'll get enough things to stick. That'll work. And.

[19:08] But dude, what. What would you say to the people that are watching, like, when it comes to starting this business,

[19:15] what would you tell those people?

[19:17] I would say just. If you can just. Just try and buy your first phone, like, literally just go out there, try buying phones. Like, I have one guy right now in la.

[19:27] I'm training him to buy phones. And what he does, he calls me on, like, FaceTime and just shows me, like, the whole deal. So I can, like, help him out.

[19:35] I can check the IMEI for him and, like, show him how the battery health works. But if you're like, first starting out and you, like, you feel afraid to go by, like, just watch some videos, how to, like, purchase a phone, how to inspect the phone, and just go,

[19:49] just go out there and just do it. Because, like, even if you lose money, you will learn from that mistake. And you probably would make money on your first phone if you, like, do the right steps to, like, learn what to look for and everything like that.

[20:02] Fantastic. So what did you start on my YouTube channel. Is that where you kind of found our stuff or was it our Facebook group or.

[20:11] I think I watched the YouTube and I just joined the Facebook group. Yeah. Yeah.

[20:15] So recommend doing that, guys. If you guys are watching this video, feel free to join our Facebook group. It's 15, 000 resellers deep.

[20:22] It's a big group. Lots of people, Lots of people sharing stuff.

[20:26] Aaron's always posting his negotiations and stuff in there and you know, stuff like that. Um, what. What kind of negotiations do you do with customers, dude? Like, is it my stuff?

[20:37] Is it like, did you create your own. Like, what are you doing?

[20:43] What I really use on the, on like the,

[20:47] like on Facebook leads, I always assume it's carrier locked. Always assume lowest gigabytes.

[20:55] Let's see. Yeah, like, always assume the lowest and then you work up from there.

[21:00] Then I always got it. Yeah. Yeah. Basically what you guys do also what Aaron does is like, oh, like my bad. Like, yeah, it's unlocked. Or like it's this gigabytes.

[21:11] I always do that as well.

[21:13] And I just try to like go from the lowest price to the higher. So they feel like a lot better about the.

[21:20] My offers going up and up, you know. So that always makes them like feel good.

[21:25] Yeah.

[21:25] At the end of the conversation.

[21:27] Works really well.

[21:28] Yeah.

[21:29] I always, I always call it like they're closing me. Like that's how I want it to sound. Right. Or feel to them. Like I want them to feel like they were able to get me to come up a hundred dollars, you know.

[21:39] Oh, yeah.

[21:39] They feel like the best. They. The. They feel like a closer at that point, you know, pretty much in reality. Like I'm the one kind of facilitating all of it.

[21:48] Yeah. Yeah.

[21:50] But Aaron and I do the same thing. It's funny because we've kind of found out the same thing at the same time, which is funny.

[21:56] Was like, stop asking the carrier because they're almost all carrier locked and financed. Like, doesn't matter at this point. One thing I'll do is like, oh, wow, it's unlocked. My bad.

[22:05] Most people don't pay off their phone, you know, like. And I'll just say that it makes them feel good, you know,

[22:11] and then they'll just work it up and be like, yeah, I can offer this and how many gigabytes? Oh, my bad.

[22:17] Not for this one thing exactly. Like if somebody hits me with like a. Somebody hit me with a 15 pro yesterday and they were. They gave me this like offer from another company, online company that they got to ship into, and I Was like, are you sure it's not the pro max,

[22:33] question mark? You know, dot, dot, dot, question mark?

[22:36] Yeah.

[22:37] And he was like, no, it's the pro. And I'm like, oh, got it. See, if it was the pro max, I could,

[22:44] but. And, you know, now he's in a limbo phase, you know.

[22:48] Oh, yeah, man.

[22:49] Questioning everything.

[22:51] That's a good way to put it, too, for sure.

[22:53] I told, like, one thing I love. Whenever people are like, yeah, I got. I got a. I got an offer from, like, those online companies where you shipped into where they have the highest prices in the beginning.

[23:04] And I'm like, hey, if they end up sending it back to you after they, you know, grade it and everything, feel free to hit me up so that, like, I do that all the time, too.

[23:13] Like, whenever they hit me with those, I'll be like, look, once they send it back, let me know. I'll buy it kind of thing. Because that's what they do is they.

[23:22] They highball you, and then they, like, get it, and then they lowball the hell out of you.

[23:28] Oh, man. Yeah.

[23:30] By the way, for everybody out there, whenever somebody says that they have a better offer,

[23:37] tell them to take it.

[23:39] Call their bluff. I don't know if you do this, Victor, but I do all the time. Like, somebody. I had somebody reach out the other day with 15 pro maxes that were carrier locked and offered 500 each.

[23:51] And he was like, oh, I got someone willing to pay 700. I'm like, oh, my gosh,

[23:58] take it, man. Like, what are you waiting for, dude? Ended up calling me,

[24:03] and I was like. And he. He was like, yeah, I just wanted to call and see if you would go up on your prices at all and give you a chance.

[24:08] And I'm like, what the hell? Like, no, dude, I'm not going any higher. Like, you're getting 700. Take it, man. He's like, oh, I just want to give you a chance, man.

[24:17] I'm like, I. I'm here with my 500, man. Like,

[24:22] so the fact that he called me, I knew he was lying because he was paying more than the direct buyers were.

[24:29] Yeah, that's crazy.

[24:30] And I was like, that's not. That's not how this is gonna work. So. But, like, that's another thing. Standing your ground in the negotiations.

[24:37] And now that you're getting a bunch of inventory in.

[24:40] In the beginning, you were probably. You were probably a little bit more needy when it comes to deals, right?

[24:45] Oh, definitely.

[24:46] But now that you're moving, I mean, you Said you were up to like 2am last night doing inventory.

[24:52] Yeah.

[24:52] Once you start getting more deals in, have you noticed that that, like, that neediness to get the next deal goes away and it actually helps you a lot more?

[25:02] Oh, definitely. Like, I would try and drive like 40 minutes down here, 30 minutes back here, so just like two pickups. But now I'm getting mail ins. I avoid the driving.

[25:12] I only go like for deals locally, like off reach outs if they're like a hundred bucks profit or more.

[25:19] And yeah, pretty much I just miss. I just miss out on the driving and just more.

[25:25] Find the right deals that pay the most money pretty much now.

[25:28] So, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, once you start getting enough deals, it's like you don't need that deal anymore. And it's almost like the customer can sense it in a way. Like, I had one lady yesterday, she's selling me a 13 Pro today and a 14 Pro Max today, so.

[25:45] Nice.

[25:46] And I'm getting both for 600, so. And they're both unlocked as well.

[25:52] ****, man, that's good profits.

[25:54] Yeah, but like, she's driving to me today and like I was telling her, I was like, look, I meet people at 12 and 4 every day. Which time works best? And she's like, I'll just come at 4 tomorrow.

[26:06] I'm like, all right, cool. But like, she asked if I would drive to Humble, which is like an hour from me, and I'm like, oh,

[26:16] I don't drive people, but I meet people at this location every day. If you want to bring it to you, I'll buy your gas whenever you come. And she was like, all right, whatever.

[26:25] Because she, you know, a lot of people would have been like, yeah, I hopped my car right now. You know, like that comes off as incredibly needy with the deal, in my opinion.

[26:35] Now, in the beginning, you probably need to do that, but as you get better and you start closing more deals and you start stacking inventory on a weekly basis,

[26:45] you don't need the deals as much. And it's nice to know that because you're just like, I don't need that. There's going to be another deal that comes. Plus, you're getting enough leads now too, so it probably doesn't matter.

[26:56] Yeah, so far, pretty good.

[26:58] Yeah. You're also in San Diego. What's it like flipping in San Diego? Because I know there's a lot of phone flippers out there.

[27:03] There's a lot of phone flippers, but I don't think they know about direct buying. They don't Sell ebay, What else do they do? They just sell locally and I've been trying to contact them to buy from them because I can pay like, you know, close to Atlas now and on some phones and even go higher on Atlas.

[27:21] But yeah, San Diego's like, I feel like it's competitive for like reach outs. Yeah. But then when it comes to ads and like being like a serious like, flipper, there's less of them right now.

[27:32] Just they're more just like local flippers that don't know much about like a different side of the business for sure.

[27:39] Did a poll a while back on my YouTube channel and stuff and I found out that most phone flippers do not sell online into direct buyers. And I'm talking like 8 out of 10 don't sell to direct buyers or sell online because they're scared of it.

[27:56] They're scared of the shipping process. So that means that 2 out of 10 people are actually your competition.

[28:02] Yeah, I would say so, yeah.

[28:05] So what that tells me is this business is still incredibly underground. Like,

[28:11] like the fact that most people still don't ship is. Is. And like, and their only way of making money is by doing the local flips. And the only way you can do local flips is if you're buying and selling unlocked phones only.

[28:25] Exactly. Yeah.

[28:26] Makes it hard. Right.

[28:29] Like, I couldn't imagine, like you can do that in Canada where all the phones are unlocked. That's a little different, you know. Yeah, you can't really can't do that here very well.

[28:37] Makes it much harder. But you also joined console kings, I believe, right?

[28:43] Oh, yeah. Recently joined. Yeah.

[28:45] How was. How is that?

[28:47] Well, I just joined to like, try to explore consoles because. Cause like, for example, I had a deal where like they had an Xbox One S, but I had no clue, like, what to look for, what like even sold for.

[29:00] I tried to go on ebay real quick, but it was just like I need like a price sheet. I love the price sheets that he had. So I use.

[29:06] His price sheets are amazing.

[29:08] Yeah, I use those daily. And you know, I just pick up some like, switches sometimes some Xboxes,

[29:16] just whatever I could get for consoles. But I was kind of like noticing that maybe I should just stick to phones because then like, I love to like move phones quick.

[29:24] Yeah.

[29:25] And then the consoles and stuff kind of like sell a bit slower, like slightly slower, probably an extra like few days or so. But you know, thing I love about.

[29:32] The consoles, the ROI on them, like much higher than phones.

[29:37] Oh, yeah.

[29:38] They take it. And that, that's the downside is they take a little longer to sell, but the ROI is much higher.

[29:44] So it's a nice offset, in my opinion. Now, as you. As you. As you scale up, it's better to specialize, right?

[29:52] Yeah.

[29:53] And that's a good thing to do as far as consoles go. Like up on Xbox Series X the other day for 200 bucks using the price sheets, and it sold literally the next day for 335.

[30:09] That's good. Yeah.

[30:10] Easy. It was easy money, right? It was also from a repeat customer and, you know, but. And you said you're doing Google Ads now, too.

[30:19] Yeah.

[30:19] How are those doing?

[30:21] Well, I mean, I'm getting like. Like yesterday I got a phone from Google Ad.

[30:26] Other day I got like, at the. At the minimum, it was like 400 in profit. It was a 16 Pro Max. 16 Pro Max. ICloud locked, and the 15, that was passcode locked.

[30:39] I took it home, did a reset on it, and it was icloud off. So I bought it for 80 bucks and it's up for like, 500, so.

[30:45] Fantastic. Yeah, those are where it's at, dude. They're the best leads by far. Yeah, they're ready and looking to sell, so. But yeah, that's actually where most of my business now comes from for free, too, which is pretty cool.

[30:59] Cool, dude. Well,

[31:02] what's your business name?

[31:04] San Diego Buyback.

[31:06] San Diego Buyback. All right, sweet. So we'll be throwing his information because I'm assuming you're kind of looking to turn into buying directly from people.

[31:14] Oh, yeah, pretty much right now. In the groups, too, and buying stuff from different people in the business groups as well.

[31:21] Sweet. So we'll put your information in the first comment below.

[31:25] Is there anything else you want to add about your journey, Dude. About how, you know, how far you've come? You know, just being 18, I think you started this when you were 17, right?

[31:33] Yeah, I was 17. Yeah.

[31:35] Yeah. Because I don't think we could set up your Facebook ads until you were 18. Yeah, yeah, I remember that. Yeah,

[31:42] I think I remember you saying something about that.

[31:45] Yeah.

[31:46] So. Well, that's awesome, man.

[31:49] Well, you're coming into the, you know, new year, so, I mean, you put. Put in three, four years in this. I mean, you'll be set, you know, like, I wouldn't take your foot off the gas because as someone looking back, I wish I would have started at 18.

[32:03] I wish I would have found an opportunity that. That works like this that early on.

[32:09] Yeah, because you still have. You have a lot of hustle at that age.

[32:13] See, I gotta take testosterone shots and **** now that I'm.

[32:16] Oh ****.

[32:17] You know, like stuff starts going down after 26, you know, so.

[32:24] And that energy that, that I had back then, I don't, sadly, I don't have the same now, even though I work out twice a day. But use it as long as you can because you're in that, you're in that phase where you can work those, those, you know, 10 to 12 hour days and not.

[32:41] It won't hurt you at all.

[32:42] Be affected.

[32:43] Oh yeah, yeah, it won't affect you at all.

[32:47] So we'll put your information below and yeah, dude, I'm. It's awesome to see how you've grown over the last couple of months and you've taken full advantage of this opportunity and I love to see it.
