Yes.
Speaker AHello.
Speaker AHello.
Speaker AWhat kind of tea are you drinking there?
Speaker AI see you sipping on some tea, warming up your hands.
Speaker BJust some, you know, this is some stash.
Speaker BSo it's, you know, the cheap shit.
Speaker BYeah, just mint tea.
Speaker BIt's what they.
Speaker AI'm a little disappointed.
Speaker BI keep keys in my backpack, so I keep.
Speaker BI actually keep Element.
Speaker BI wish we were sponsored by Element.
Speaker BThey're getting in trouble because they use maltodextrin, and apparently maltodextrin is.
Speaker BThere's a lot of controversy around it, but I still.
Speaker BI drank one of these mango chilies.
Speaker BIt's basically like what Gatorade.
Speaker BGatorade wishes they were.
Speaker BThis.
Speaker BThis actually replenishes all your electrolytes.
Speaker AOh, okay.
Speaker AAnna uses a supplement like that too.
Speaker BWhich one does she use?
Speaker AHey, Anna.
Speaker AShe can't hear me.
Speaker BSo let's see what teas I have.
Speaker BI have some yogi tea.
Speaker BSo this is just chamomile.
Speaker BBedtime.
Speaker AYogi's good stuff.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BAnd I.
Speaker BThis one's positive energy.
Speaker BSweet tangerine.
Speaker BPositive energy that has caffeine.
Speaker AIt's not working.
Speaker BI wasn't in a.
Speaker BI wasn't in a caffeine mood, so I usually keep.
Speaker BI usually keep, like, a mellow ashwagandha, one that also supports your immune system.
Speaker BBut I'm all out, and I keep forgetting to buy more.
Speaker BSo this is all really.
Speaker BThis is good pot.
Speaker BThis is real pro.
Speaker BThis is good stuff.
Speaker AI mean, it's good stuff.
Speaker AReal good stuff.
Speaker BAll right, so here's the situation.
Speaker AHere's the situation.
Speaker BThis is the get you some productions podcast.
Speaker BThat's what you're watching right now, people.
Speaker BThis is hopefully episode 100, it might actually be.
Speaker BWe are a podcast covering all things related to music production, from the first note to the last fan.
Speaker BMy name is Keith.
Speaker AMy name is Daniel.
Speaker BComing at ya.
Speaker ABoom.
Speaker BAnd we talk about all sorts of music stuff.
Speaker BBefore we go on with today's episode, we'd like you to go into the show notes and click probably one of the first links or the first link.
Speaker BIt's our Reverb affiliation, where you can buy something from Reverb, the online marketplace for music gear.
Speaker BAnd we get paid a small commission, no additional cost to you.
Speaker BSo if you already know you need to buy something, like strings or a guitar or a keyboard or something, then you can do us a huge favor and actually just click that link.
Speaker BBuy it through our link, and it doesn't cost you anything additional, and we get paid a small commission or you can not do that.
Speaker AI'm gonna be.
Speaker AI'm a little more direct.
Speaker AAll right, pause the video.
Speaker AGo and buy a reverb Fender Deluxe reverb amp.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AJust pick the wattage you want.
Speaker AOkay?
Speaker AJust go buy one now.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker AAnd then, then you can come back and watch the rest of the video.
Speaker BGo.
Speaker BGo buy a hundred thousand dollar custom arch top instrument.
Speaker BThat'll be a nice.
Speaker AEither one.
Speaker AEither one.
Speaker BBig fat commission for us.
Speaker BSo here's what I wanted to do today.
Speaker BLet's go over what we accomplished this year.
Speaker BLet's just give ourselves a pat on the back.
Speaker BActually not sure 100% everything we accomplished, but I thought maybe we just like sort of bullshit about it.
Speaker AAll right, dog, I'm a little.
Speaker AOkay, I'm, I'm.
Speaker AI gotta get in the zone here.
Speaker ABut we're gonna do a quick rear review.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AAnd pat ourselves on the back.
Speaker BPat ourselves in the back.
Speaker BAnd if that's all we get to.
Speaker BGreat.
Speaker BAnd then we can start going through some stuff dreams for next year.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AIs it okay if I start?
Speaker BAbsolutely.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker ASo I am thinking more through the lens of just the podcast and what we've done as far as our material.
Speaker AAnd I feel like this year we did a lot of actual.
Speaker AI just like a lot of the interviews we did.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AI feel like we've done a lot of podcasts that are about our process and our planning and then we transition to start producing interviews and material that is interesting to me personally and also I feel like informative to people.
Speaker AExpose, like getting these artists exposure, hearing about artists process and also being able to promote artists.
Speaker AThat to me is really satisfying.
Speaker AI really enjoyed the interviews and I feel like they've gone well.
Speaker AI told them we know what we're doing.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AIt almost seems like we know what we're doing.
Speaker BIt almost.
Speaker BIt almost does seem like we know what we're doing.
Speaker BYes, I actually, I totally agree.
Speaker BI think the podcast interviews have been good in terms of being good interviews, but I also think like some of them have been sort of meaningful in a way.
Speaker BYou know, I think the ones with John Esposito were more than just, you know, interviewing a musician.
Speaker BI think he really.
Speaker BWe got some things on tape that I don't think anyone else has gotten on tape about him.
Speaker BSo we're, I think we're serving like in a sense we're almost serving a higher purpose.
Speaker BSo I think that's really good.
Speaker BHe did send an email with a bunch of other people we should interview and I think maybe we should Just go through that and prioritize like, who's the oldest person?
Speaker BBecause actually wanted to interview this guitar player, Peter Leach.
Speaker BPeter Leach was a.
Speaker BI was a big fan of Peter Leech.
Speaker BHe unfortunately passed recently, so we missed the boat on him.
Speaker BI think we could have gotten an interview with him, but, you know, it's just kind of sucks.
Speaker BLike I knew he was ill.
Speaker BWe don't have, you know, we have capacity for what we have capacity for, but there's probably a lot of people like that.
Speaker BSo anyway, so I have a couple of other people in mind, but John sent an email with a bunch of people and, you know, so I think it's.
Speaker BI think.
Speaker BI think it's almost like we're doing something that's really good.
Speaker AYeah, I agree.
Speaker AAnd you know what?
Speaker AIn some ways, John Esposito as a person, his.
Speaker AThere's sort of a consistency there, right?
Speaker ALike you do a few lessons with him and then you realize you have.
Speaker AHe's given you a lifetime of work to do and he'll always pile more on there.
Speaker AWe do a couple interviews with him.
Speaker AHe already gave us a lifetime of interview people to interview.
Speaker AIt's just like the same thing again.
Speaker BSo larger than life.
Speaker AHe's gonna bury you.
Speaker ANo matter what you do, he's gonna bury you.
Speaker ALarger than life, larger than mine.
Speaker ASo truly a blessing to have, I would say, like a friendship with.
Speaker AWith John.
Speaker ASo I'm glad we, We.
Speaker AWe pulled on that thread.
Speaker AI think we should follow it.
Speaker BOkay, I totally agree.
Speaker BSo that was the.
Speaker BThat was one of the.
Speaker BI think probably that's the most important and main thing.
Speaker BIt was just getting some really good interviews in the books, but also forging relationships with people that are also, you know, deeper and that are moving us in a positive direction.
Speaker BSo I'll add to that that our.
Speaker BOur collaboration with Bard College is also a big deal.
Speaker BAnd I think that was something that we started this year or.
Speaker BI'm sorry, the 2024.
Speaker A2024.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BWe put the little intro thing, that little intro animation on its minor thing.
Speaker BBut you know, we always kept saying, like from episode one, we were like, okay, what if we just.
Speaker BEvery episode we got 1% better, you know, or even 1/10 of 1% better.
Speaker ASure.
Speaker BI'm trying to remember, you know, actually not even sure if you're aware of this, but get you some guitar.
Speaker BReleased a jam track this year and Jesse was the drummer.
Speaker BHe recorded the drums like in.
Speaker BDuring COVID or Pre Covid.
Speaker BAnd I just never got around to releasing it But I finally got around to releasing it.
Speaker AShout out to Jesse.
Speaker BJesse Wallace.
Speaker AJesse Wallace.
Speaker ALook him up.
Speaker AHe's the real deal.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BI can't.
Speaker BI'm trying to.
Speaker BI'm.
Speaker BNow I'm just thinking, okay.
Speaker BOh, we did start talking about doing the self help thing and blending that in.
Speaker BYes, we just started talking about it.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo that's.
Speaker AWhat's the word?
Speaker AInchoate?
Speaker BIs that maybe?
Speaker BI don't know, I would say burgeoning or nascent.
Speaker BActually, not sure.
Speaker AFantastic.
Speaker BI have been talking, actually.
Speaker BOh.
Speaker BSo I did record a podcast without you knowing about it.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BYou remember Josh Salant?
Speaker BJosh did an interview.
Speaker ASo familiar.
Speaker BIt was like one of our first interviews.
Speaker BHe's a producer and he has a studio in, I want to say Queens.
Speaker AMaybe Indie rock.
Speaker BYeah, like a.
Speaker BYeah, like Brooklyn hardcore hard rock.
Speaker BVery positive attitude.
Speaker BLike super positive attitude guy.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BProbably one of our first interviews ever.
Speaker AIt was a while ago.
Speaker BIt was a long time ago.
Speaker ASo you did a second interview.
Speaker BYeah, because it wasn't.
Speaker BIt wasn't really an interview.
Speaker BIt was.
Speaker BI'm gonna do.
Speaker BI'm gonna record a single of a new song in the near term and he's gonna record it.
Speaker BSo I just got him.
Speaker BI had a zoom with him and I figured might as well just record it and put it on the show.
Speaker BSo that happened.
Speaker BSuper.
Speaker BI can't.
Speaker BOh, and he's going to help.
Speaker BRemember we had an idea.
Speaker BThis is actually one of the things on the list because I have the list open and it was put production Service, actually number eight on our to do list of 99 things.
Speaker BNumber eight is put production services on the website.
Speaker BAnd he's going to partner with us on that.
Speaker BSo he's going to.
Speaker BWe're going to put.
Speaker BWe're going to put a questionnaire and hopefully like a swipe so people can pay directly.
Speaker BAnd we're going to offer production services.
Speaker BWe're going to do a question, an intake questionnaire so people can, based upon that book, unlocking creativity.
Speaker BPeople are going to go through, swipe their credit card, answer this questionnaire.
Speaker BWe'll evaluate it.
Speaker BWe'll do an interview with the band or interviews with the band and then they'll go to.
Speaker BWe'll take a small fee and then they'll go do the record with Josh or we'll farm it out to other records.
Speaker BWe won't do any of the actual engineering or like nitty gritty production.
Speaker BWe'll just be like, kind of like, you know, creative consultants.
Speaker BSo anyway, so we discussed that A little bit too.
Speaker BSo it's not something that got started, but isn't really something really.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThat's a cool idea.
Speaker AI like that.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AI think actually we're kind of transitioning into the year ahead ideas which kind of naturally conversationally flip there.
Speaker ASo if we stay on that thread, something along the lines of the animation moving at 1% or just like dialing it up, I think me might be ready for the podcaster microphone.
Speaker ANicer sound.
Speaker AI'll invest in mine.
Speaker AYou know, we can.
Speaker AI don't think there.
Speaker AI don't think they're prohibitively expensive.
Speaker AWe did touch on this quickly a couple years ago.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AYou know what I mean?
Speaker AWe talked about it, but honestly, we put our.
Speaker AI think we put our energy into like learning more about producing shows and podcasts and getting interviews.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ABut it probably would help the production and just everything if we had slightly better mics instead of these, maybe.
Speaker AWhat do you think?
Speaker AHad any.
Speaker AHad you thought of that?
Speaker BI always think of, you know, I always definitely think about how we can level up.
Speaker BMy only issue is that you see me in my office right now.
Speaker BSo I'm usually recording wherever I happen to be at any given moment.
Speaker BSo whatever microphone I have, it would have to be something that is something that fits in my backpack, that is transportable so it can be done.
Speaker BSo something that's USB C and that I can put in my backpack.
Speaker AYeah, okay.
Speaker BYou know, and that's.
Speaker AI think.
Speaker AI think that stuff's all out there.
Speaker AI think you're in a.
Speaker AYou're not in a unique situation.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BBecause look at this.
Speaker AI mean.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAnd I'm only thinking just because these are engineered for just a phone conversation, not necessarily for any kind of production and they work, but, you know.
Speaker BYeah, okay.
Speaker AIt was just a thought.
Speaker BSo you know what?
Speaker BActually, why don't I just put that on the list?
Speaker ASo how about improving.
Speaker AImproving production quality microphones?
Speaker AQuestion mark.
Speaker AMaybe that is the answer.
Speaker BImprove product.
Speaker AAudio quality.
Speaker AI was literally just thinking it's a podcast, so I don't think people super care about the video element of it because we're not doing any visual content other than our beautiful selves.
Speaker AI think when you start covering, if there's objects you're covering and you're like actually discussing objects, you might.
Speaker AThen you need to get like HD stuff going on, you know, because people want to see what you're talking about.
Speaker ALike if we were going to be talking about instruments or guitars and wood grains and inlays, you know, you'd want a high quality video.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BActually, this is, you know, something that I thought of just in the context of this video we're recording right now is that somehow I always have this, like, light coming in from one side.
Speaker BSo this is like, who's the.
Speaker BWho's the really fate?
Speaker BThe most famous, kind of like thriller movie producer, writer.
Speaker BThe old school guy.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker AHitchcock.
Speaker BHitchcock.
Speaker BHe.
Speaker BHe's so famous for lighting.
Speaker BIn fact, there's a famous picture of his profile, but it's only half lit and it's not.
Speaker BSo this is like.
Speaker BFor some reason, I always have like the evil dude Hitchcock lighting because I'm always in a room where the light's coming from one direction or another.
Speaker AI gotta say, your composition right now, your framing is amazing.
Speaker AYou've got like.
Speaker AI guess it's backwards here, but you've got like dark.
Speaker AThe windows over here for you.
Speaker AYeah, dark elements.
Speaker AThe window.
Speaker AThen you've got the plant over here, like tying it together so you.
Speaker AIt's like symmetrical light coming in at an angle.
Speaker AWhite contrasts.
Speaker BKeep doing that with your hands.
Speaker AKeep doing the darkness on the side of the window.
Speaker BPut your hand.
Speaker AYour dark.
Speaker BPut your hand.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BSo I just took a.
Speaker BI took a screenshot of that because.
Speaker BYeah, because it's amazing.
Speaker BHow do I save it?
Speaker AIt's mostly monochromatic too.
Speaker AYou've got like, your hair is like light gray and dark.
Speaker AYou've got a white T shirt on.
Speaker AThe background is gray.
Speaker AAnd then the painting just has little touches of color in there.
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker AIt's hysterical.
Speaker AKeith.
Speaker BI aim to please.
Speaker AWell, actually, I guess the space is well laid out and coordinated, color wise.
Speaker AAnd then you just happen to be wearing a white T shirt, so you blame it.
Speaker BThat's why I like this space, because I kind of, you know, can just pick a room and there's always something interesting in one of the rooms or another.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd what's that sculpture back there?
Speaker AIs that a sculpture?
Speaker AYeah, there's a sculpture.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BIt looks like pieces of, like a classical sculpture of a woman's body, but in like, classical form.
Speaker BYou know, the.
Speaker BThe extremities have broken off over the years.
Speaker BSo it's just like.
Speaker AOh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BTorso.
Speaker BBut it looks like it's being molded in brass or something.
Speaker AGotcha.
Speaker AAnd I want you to know how, you know, you don't have to stay within the boundaries in life.
Speaker AI mean, there's people lay out edges and borders for you.
Speaker AJust take a look at that painting.
Speaker AThe leaves are like.
Speaker ANo.
Speaker ASo I'm Gonna.
Speaker AI'm just gonna go out and make some more of myself.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ASo that's my add.
Speaker AThank you.
Speaker AI took this entire conversation way off track.
Speaker AThank you for.
Speaker BThat's the whole.
Speaker BPerfect.
Speaker BI love it.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BSo should we go through the list a little bit?
Speaker AYes, yes.
Speaker ABack to topic here.
Speaker BThe list is really cool, actually.
Speaker BOkay, so I don't think we.
Speaker BFor the record, I think we should.
Speaker BWe should continue doing what we're doing anyway, because I feel like we're doing a good job.
Speaker BSo we should just keep booking guests.
Speaker BWe should follow the.
Speaker BYou know, we should keep pulling on the Esposito thread because we are going down the Arthur Rhames route and we still are going to.
Speaker BWe're going to still pursue the grant.
Speaker BAnd I think that we should maybe have another podcast, you know, after we do another interview where we just go over the grant that I've partially written, maybe edit it a bit and then send it to a grant writer to firm up.
Speaker BAnd then.
Speaker BAnd then we can engage.
Speaker BAfter we feel like we have something that's sort of presentable, we can engage the person at Bard that John recommended we talk to.
Speaker BBecause those are.
Speaker BI think those are going to be powerful.
Speaker BLike, we actually could have revenue for the first time, you know, ever, which would be a big deal.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd I also have started to engage with.
Speaker BI copied you in a few emails.
Speaker BA marketing specialist.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BWho I think I've always wanted to do this Modes course on gsg, on get you some guitar.
Speaker BAnd he and I talked and we went through kind of like a high level, the possibility of how much impact a Modes course could have and the market potential.
Speaker BAnd he thinks, of course, that he charges for the class.
Speaker BSo it's.
Speaker BIt's his incentive to tell me that I should pay for it because I'm going to make a lot of money.
Speaker BBut he says that people in his course routinely make thousands of dollars per month using his marketing strategy.
Speaker BAnd when I say thousands, it could be a few thousand.
Speaker BSome people in his course make $10,000 a month marketing courses.
Speaker BAnd I do think my.
Speaker BMy modes course there.
Speaker BI think there's something special about the idea that I have for it.
Speaker BAnd I really.
Speaker BAnd his thing is not getting the course right.
Speaker BThat's the problem is that I need for me to get the course.
Speaker BI want people to buy the course for $500 and feel like they got the only guitar course they're ever going to need for the rest of their life.
Speaker BBut his thing is marketing.
Speaker BHe thinks that I could sell this course, you know, a thousand times.
Speaker BAnd you know, if you sell a $500 course a thousand times, that's $500,000.
Speaker BSee what I mean?
Speaker BAnd he walked me through all these Facebook groups where we could just organically.
Speaker BThe name of his course is organic course Selling Mastery, where we could organically tap into these groups of basically people who want to learn guitar basics and find out of the tens and tens and tens of thousands on all these different Facebook groups, we could find a thousand people who would pay $500 for a modes course if it's a really good modes.
Speaker BActually, that's not even.
Speaker BHe doesn't even care.
Speaker BHe says people will pay for it because his marketing strategy is so good.
Speaker BI care about the quality of the course and that's actually my only hurt.
Speaker BThat's one of my biggest hurdles is that I just need.
Speaker BI don't know when I'm going to have time to sit down and make the course good.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BHe says, don't worry about that.
Speaker BYou make the money first and then you.
Speaker BYou get pre sales.
Speaker BYou make all the money first and then you can sell the course to be that as it may, that's not me.
Speaker BYeah, I need to have something that's I feel is worth $500 at least before I sell it to these people.
Speaker AGotcha.
Speaker BThat's something that I'm sort of been interested in doing for a long time anyway.
Speaker BAnd a friend of mine took that course and I talked to him and he said, yeah, it's the real deal.
Speaker BHe said, you have to put in this work to go into these groups and do what this guy says.
Speaker BBut he said, you'll find, you know, people to buy the course.
Speaker BHe said, that's not a question.
Speaker BHe says, every time I need to make money, I just sit down and do what he says and I just get money in the door.
Speaker BSo I think that'd be powerful.
Speaker BSo anyway, that's something I'm thinking about.
Speaker AAnd you know, there's a.
Speaker AI'm just.
Speaker AI was just thinking like I am in sales myself.
Speaker AI mean, it's more on the retail end, but it's still.
Speaker AThe psychology of sales and marketing is a big part of my everyday life now.
Speaker AThere's potential synergy there too.
Speaker BWell, I think you'd like it.
Speaker BI think you'd like to review the material.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker BOh, you know, honestly, it'd be very powerful for my business as well.
Speaker BMy real business.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo, okay.
Speaker BSo do you think why don't I just go start going through this list, I'll just read a bunch of items.
Speaker BI have to load up information about etudes from another course.
Speaker BFine.
Speaker BActually, one of the things is blog transcripts of all episodes using AI.
Speaker BSo this is pre AI now we have all that.
Speaker BBecome an ordained minister or reverend.
Speaker BApply for NYC grants.
Speaker BWe're working on that.
Speaker BBecome an affiliate of IREAL Pro.
Speaker BI use I Real Pro all the time to practice.
Speaker BThey might have an affiliate program or they might be hooked up with an affiliate program.
Speaker BThat'd be great.
Speaker BBarry Greene Affiliate.
Speaker BA JTC Guitar affiliate.
Speaker BThese are all just things that we can go down.
Speaker BAffiliate marketing.
Speaker BPut production services on the website, develop an app, make.
Speaker BThere's a bunch on here that just says business pays.
Speaker BSo it's basically make money.
Speaker BActually make money for once.
Speaker BHire people.
Speaker BMore stuff about business.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BSelling merch.
Speaker BOwn a recording studio.
Speaker BOwn a rehearsal studio.
Speaker BOwn a music store.
Speaker BThese are all just like dream things.
Speaker BOh.
Speaker BSo hire potentially.
Speaker BOr coerce my friends who are comedians to either review or sort of trash or roast the Handshake album.
Speaker BHave Devin and.
Speaker BOr Katie.
Speaker BI think Katie still does.
Speaker BPoet puppets.
Speaker BHave them.
Speaker BMake a puppet video for us.
Speaker BProduce a rock opera based on the Handshake album.
Speaker BWe could hire somebody or find somebody.
Speaker BCollaborate with Ars Nova.
Speaker BCollaborate with Flux Factory.
Speaker BCollaborate with Robillad.
Speaker BCollaborate with Peter Cole.
Speaker BGet Wikipedia entries for all these brands and all the bands that we had or have.
Speaker BI don't know how to get Wikipedia things made, but it's sort of like part of you're not real until you have a Wikipedia entry.
Speaker BAffiliate with Mapping.
Speaker BTonal Harmony Pro or Band in a Box.
Speaker BActually, there's some duplicates in here, so I'm going to delete this.
Speaker BMake a blog post with every transcript.
Speaker BI'm not sure if that's worthwhile, but whatever.
Speaker BGet an honorary degree in music.
Speaker BHere's one.
Speaker BNumber 31.
Speaker BWork with or at Bard College.
Speaker BSo we actually achieved that.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo maybe I should put like a little.
Speaker AI like this brainstorming list.
Speaker AThere's some of that stuff that can be probably trimmed out a little bit.
Speaker AYes, but that was from this time last year.
Speaker BThis is something we've been.
Speaker BNo, this is something we've been compiling for the entirety of the podcast.
Speaker AYears.
Speaker AYeah, years.
Speaker AYears.
Speaker AWhich makes sense because I don't remember some of those conversations.
Speaker AThey just seem so vaguely because it.
Speaker BWas probably something we did, like, within the first year.
Speaker BYou know, I have stuff on here about business paying for us to do fun things.
Speaker BSo if we had revenue, we could actually do, like, Let the business pay for us to do cool things.
Speaker BYeah, like an annual business retreat.
Speaker BGet new.
Speaker BGet new equipment.
Speaker BHiring Justin Wirtz as a songwriting expert or whatever.
Speaker BOr just including him.
Speaker BHiring Mike Mendido to be a tech expert.
Speaker BWe've had a falling out with Mendito, so we'll see if that happens, but he's.
Speaker AHe's a difficult one to handle.
Speaker BSo hire a grant writer.
Speaker BWe're sort of working on that form.
Speaker BOr develop or train a supergroup.
Speaker BNot sure why.
Speaker BAnyway, but.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BBecome friends with the CD Baby people or work at CD Baby.
Speaker BCollaborate with local high schools.
Speaker BI'm skipping a couple of these.
Speaker BDo these music marketing programs.
Speaker BSo the.
Speaker BI wanted to do the music marketing manifesto program.
Speaker BI want to do this other program.
Speaker BI wanted Elon Musk to use the song Electricity in an advertisement for either Tesla or maybe for his.
Speaker BHis, you know, superchargers or the wall, you know, storage thing.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BI don't know how to do that.
Speaker BBut, you know, actually I looked up, I found Tesla's phone number for their general phone number, and I started going through and leaving messages for people.
Speaker BLike maybe a year ago, I just started calling Tesla one person a day and just leaving a message.
Speaker BHello, my name is.
Speaker BMy band is called this.
Speaker BI wrote a song called Electricity I want people to use.
Speaker BI actually did that.
Speaker BI called, I called like, I decided I would do one person a day.
Speaker BAnd I called maybe five people and then I gave up.
Speaker BHave an accounting department make an album using like certain gear to feature gear.
Speaker BThis is just a random.
Speaker BMake $1 million per year.
Speaker BLike, it's kind of.
Speaker BWe're lucky to make a few hundred dollars a month just to pay the actual cost of the podcast curated playlists and playlist branding.
Speaker BSo that's actually kind of like a streaming strategy.
Speaker BThis is just a soft.
Speaker BLearn about soft power.
Speaker BBasically culture, you know, winning hearts and minds through leadership, values, branding, stuff like that.
Speaker BAnother person, Brent Varstra, has a cool lesson thing.
Speaker BWe could affiliate with him.
Speaker BGet good at email marketing.
Speaker BSo I wanted to do an email marketing course.
Speaker BThis other course I was just telling you about is not email marketing at all.
Speaker BIt's kind of like.
Speaker BIt's called organic marketing where you go and you actually find people in Facebook groups.
Speaker BSo it's kind of more like one to one.
Speaker BBut email marketing is also something.
Speaker BGet more subscribers to Oliver's musical genius.
Speaker BActually, we've been getting more and more subscribers to the YouTube channel.
Speaker BOnce you hit 500, that's like the first hurdle we're at like 496.
Speaker BSo we're so close.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BMailing list.
Speaker BGet good at email marketing.
Speaker BMailing lists.
Speaker BClick funnels.
Speaker BStuff like that.
Speaker BThere's another one here about playlists.
Speaker BThere's stuff about advertising, the jam tracks.
Speaker BDevelop an affiliate marketing press kit so it's like a feature of all the brands so that we could send it to affiliates so that they would be willing to affiliate with us.
Speaker BBecome a Sweetwater affiliate.
Speaker BBecause if you're reverb, you might as well be Sweetwater as well.
Speaker BUse the Michael Beinhorn process.
Speaker BThat's part of what we're going to do with the thing on the website.
Speaker BMichael Beinhorn is the what?
Speaker BThat book we were talking about.
Speaker BEffortless Master.
Speaker BNo.
Speaker BUnlocking creativity.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BDevelop the brands.
Speaker BAll the.
Speaker BAll the different brands.
Speaker BSet up a Patreon.
Speaker BFigure out how to build the modes.
Speaker BCourse.
Speaker BSet up spreadsheets to track our progress.
Speaker AWe do need to hire someone.
Speaker AWe do need to hire someone.
Speaker BYeah, right.
Speaker AWell, these are.
Speaker BHonestly, I feel like, you know, we used to talk about.
Speaker BIn the early days of the podcast, we used to talk about the funnel, the top of the funnel, and we throw a bunch of shit in, and then whatever comes out the bottom is like the most important stuff.
Speaker BI still think that producing the podcast, if we get nothing else done but keep doing the podcast and if.
Speaker BAnd an OMG always is producing content, those are the two top of the funnel, because we load everything into the podcast, whatever comes out the bottom.
Speaker BLike, we've been throwing a lot of shit into the funnel, but what comes out the bottom, John Esposito came out the bottom.
Speaker BOMG keeps gaining subscribers.
Speaker BI actually think that I want to get on other people's podcasts.
Speaker BI think this is something that this might be on the list is.
Speaker AOkay, that's a good idea.
Speaker BHow do I get on a podcast?
Speaker BOr even you just get on other people's podcasts so we can.
Speaker BOr both of us, so we can publish.
Speaker BPromote this podcast more or a brand or something.
Speaker BThere's more about Jam Tracks.
Speaker BBecome a Fiverr affiliate.
Speaker BWe use Fiverr for a lot, and I think it's easy to become an affiliate there.
Speaker BRelease an OMG record, live record every year.
Speaker BSo actually I have a bunch of live tapes of omg.
Speaker BI just have to have them digitized, maybe cleaned up or mastered a little bit.
Speaker BCut up into tracks and then release an OMG record.
Speaker BWe'd have years worth of them because I have a bunch of those.
Speaker BWe need new merch for the handshake because I don't like the current shirt very much.
Speaker BI don't like the quality of the material.
Speaker BI don't like the fit very much.
Speaker BHere's one.
Speaker BUse element 115 for the intro and the outro music.
Speaker BWe actually put that on the list.
Speaker BDo we need canned intro outro material?
Speaker BWell, we came up with a little thing, so that's kind of something.
Speaker AOh, I know who should do our intro and outro music.
Speaker BStevie Wonder.
Speaker AStevie Wonder is not available right now.
Speaker BI already talked to him.
Speaker AAlso, MGMT is great.
Speaker AI also talked to the people over Jamiroquai.
Speaker AOkay, they're busy, but I know a.
Speaker BGuy over@jamiroquai.jamiroquai.comjamiroquai co.edu that's right.
Speaker BMaybe.
Speaker AMaybe Raja.
Speaker AHe has all kinds of equipment and a computer and like, we're like, yeah, yeah.
Speaker AI'm like, yo, we need 30 minutes.
Speaker A30 minutes.
Speaker AWe need 30 seconds of music.
Speaker ATwo 30 second tracks.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AYou'd be like, okay, sending.
Speaker BDone.
Speaker ADone.
Speaker BIt's so true.
Speaker AOkay, is there more on the list?
Speaker BWe're almost done.
Speaker BUse the tools.
Speaker BBecome affiliates of the tools we already use.
Speaker BLike Fiverr was one.
Speaker BCaptivate is another one, right?
Speaker AYes, yes.
Speaker BGet a webpage for every brand.
Speaker BGet a rap ghostwriter or co writer.
Speaker BWell, I already started rapping, so that's.
Speaker BI'll be the ghostwriter now.
Speaker AThat's your.
Speaker AThat's your hip hop name.
Speaker AGhostwriter.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BNo, yeah, there's some ideas about how to get.
Speaker BOh, so message.
Speaker BThis is really funny.
Speaker BSo you know the song, the opening line to the song backwards is I want you to bend over backwards.
Speaker BI was going to message all gymnasts or yoga instructors that I know and have them do back bends and videotape themselves doing back bends and just put, put a video, put their video over that song, that one line of the song and just make shorts out of that.
Speaker BLike a YouTube short of some, you know, yoga instructor doing a back bend and then just me saying that line from the song.
Speaker AYou sound like a perv.
Speaker BListen, you know, it gets clicks, it gets views.
Speaker BOkay, that's.
Speaker AHey, heck yeah, dude.
Speaker BOh.
Speaker BSo I had an idea for making the GSP website, the get you some productions website, a one stop shop for all the projects.
Speaker BSo you would have a link to every other project inside gsp so you.
Speaker BSo people could just go there and find everything else.
Speaker BRedo all the adverbage, I guess.
Speaker BMore personal.
Speaker BMore personal sort of verbiage for all of our ads.
Speaker BMore like you Know, heartfelt stuff.
Speaker BRewrite it.
Speaker BRewrite the stuff.
Speaker BBless you.
Speaker BDo AI generated images that represent a line from all the songs, like for the handshake songs.
Speaker BAnd then use those as little like, you know, still photo shorts and make reverb and make YouTube shorts out of that.
Speaker BI don't know why I wrote one of them.
Speaker BIs X.
Speaker BJust says X prize.
Speaker BX prize for what?
Speaker BI don't even know.
Speaker BThis is one that I'm actually really interested in trying to do is get Fish to cover the Handshake album.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BI think maybe writing a proposal or just, you know, trolling the Fate the Fish Facebook pages or something and just.
Speaker ASay, are they still a band?
Speaker BYes, they actually are.
Speaker BThey sound really good, if you can believe it.
Speaker BIt's actually incredible.
Speaker BI can't believe they went through kind of a slow period.
Speaker BBut if you watch some of their new videos, they sound really good.
Speaker BThey're old.
Speaker BThey're not as old.
Speaker AThat's the thing.
Speaker BOwns.
Speaker ANo, I was gonna say they're just old.
Speaker AThey're just older now.
Speaker AGotta be in there.
Speaker BWe're almost done.
Speaker BSo this is something.
Speaker BNumber 95, invite older bard alumni on the show.
Speaker BServe an archival role.
Speaker BSo we actually did that.
Speaker BCreate a post for each brand on my personal Facebook.
Speaker BJust telling people, you know, stuff like, hey, this is the brand of this.
Speaker BI'm gonna invite you periodically to like this page.
Speaker BLike it.
Speaker BIf you're interested in this.
Speaker BIf you're not, ignore my request, which I'm sure people do.
Speaker BAnyway, here's something interesting.
Speaker BWe should do a values exercise, me and you, and talk about our values maybe on the show, so that we can be a values based company.
Speaker BSo that values are at the core of what we do.
Speaker BSo more of a business planning thing.
Speaker BBut I thought that.
Speaker BAnd I found one that's kind of good.
Speaker BNumber 98 is the do the Carl Parnell organic course, Selling mastery course.
Speaker BThat's what I was just telling you about earlier.
Speaker BAnd then finally, number 99, I just added it today.
Speaker BImprove production quality mics.
Speaker BAnd since you brought it up, I actually did.
Speaker BBecause of the lighting issue.
Speaker BI did research small lights that are about this big and this.
Speaker BThat I can put one right here.
Speaker BIt fits in my backpack and it's usb.
Speaker BI think it costs about a hundred bucks.
Speaker BSomething like that.
Speaker BYeah, we just even out the lighting if necessary.
Speaker BThat's the whole list.
Speaker BWe went through a 99 item list just now.
Speaker BIt's kind of a brain.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo what?
Speaker AWant to take like a five minute break and do the Second half of the list.
Speaker BSo I don't.
Speaker BJust like, just like I said before.
Speaker BOkay, so you know what?
Speaker BLet me, Let me.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker BLet me say something serious then.
Speaker BBecause actually the one thing that I noticed is that some of the shit should become off the list because it's probably useless.
Speaker BAnd actually there was about, I would say a handful, maybe a half a dozen things that we actually did do or start doing for legitimately.
Speaker BSo I think that's a win.
Speaker AI think it's a win.
Speaker ASo what about.
Speaker AYou know what?
Speaker AI like, I can already see our next.
Speaker AI think we should do a follow up on this list actually, than other podcasts.
Speaker BFine.
Speaker AA quick one.
Speaker AAnd you and I can like, we'll talk in text between now and then about what you just said.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AYou know, and then talk about our wins and what's coming off the list and.
Speaker AAnd what we're going to try and throw into the top of the funnel.
Speaker AOf the funnel.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAnd fold that in with.
Speaker AI'd like to talk about our next interview too.
Speaker BYeah, me too.
Speaker BSo I have to go through.
Speaker BI have so many emails, but I think we have to get back to the Bard people.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BI think we have to follow the Esposito people.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo I'm guessing that maybe the Esposito people are more important just because some of them are older.
Speaker BI don't know any other.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker ANo, I mean, that's a great list.
Speaker AIt's like, that's a good place to start because you might never.
Speaker AYou might lose a chance to ever do it.
Speaker BThat's it.
Speaker AThat's it.
Speaker BYeah, that's it.
Speaker ASo cool.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AYeah, I agree.
Speaker BGood.
Speaker BMe too.
Speaker ASo that's, that's.
Speaker AThat, that's a.
Speaker BThat's a wrap.
Speaker AThat's a trip down memory lane too, that some of that stuff survived from some of those ideas.
Speaker ASo we took a little bit of a hiatus doing podcasts for a couple of weeks.
Speaker AI think it was holidays.
Speaker AYou were kind of ready to do one last week and I was just.
Speaker AI couldn't.
Speaker AI didn't have it in me.
Speaker BDo we have a.
Speaker BDo we have a guest lined up or was it just one of these?
Speaker AI think we were just gonna do a podcast.
Speaker BOh, okay.
Speaker AYou and I and kind of what we're doing today.
Speaker BRight, right.
Speaker AYou were kind of ready to do this last week.
Speaker AI think so.
Speaker AI appreciate you.
Speaker BOh, I don't care.
Speaker BYeah, I had time because I, I kind of have to strike when the iron's hot because I don't I think both of us are not, you know, we don't always have all the time in the world.
Speaker BSo it's like, if I have a Sunday free, then I'm just going to be like, dude, are you around?
Speaker AY.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker AAnd I appreciate.
Speaker BWe still have a handful of them in the can, by the way, so we have to release, I think maybe four or five shows.
Speaker BSo anybody who we interview is going to.
Speaker BIs not going to come out for weeks or months at this.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker AAll righty, my friend.
Speaker BCool, dude.
Speaker AIt was a good year, dude.
Speaker BEvery year gets better and better.
Speaker AFor real.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AMoving forward, right?
Speaker BYeah, absolutely.
Speaker BI think one day our.
Speaker BSo my ultimate dream actually was have a.
Speaker BLike a natural production company.
Speaker BReal revenue offices that look out over a park or something.
Speaker BYou know, some nice desks, airy, sunlight filled offices.
Speaker BThis might happen one day.
Speaker AI would like that, too.
Speaker AThat'd be great.
Speaker AAnd I'd like to, you know, one day be just geographically closer to you.
Speaker BMe too.
Speaker AWhat can I say?
Speaker BMe too.
Speaker AI feel like that's gonna be on me.
Speaker AYou're not going anywhere.
Speaker BWell, I can't go anywhere.
Speaker BI'm sort of trapped wherever my daughter goes to school.
Speaker BI'm gonna be here for a while.
Speaker AWell, hey, dude, here's to hopefully decades of success and.
Speaker AYeah, okay.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ANamaste.
Speaker ALate.
Speaker ALater.
