Hello Podcast v. I still don't know why I sing. Every time I get on here, it's. Just normal. And what's so funny is I'm not singing prior to getting on this podcast. Um, you guys are the only people I sing to, so you get this lovely, lovely, um, terrible singing voice. Welcome back. I'm so glad you are here. We're diving into when things are not fun in the business anymore. How do you make them fun again? Because let's be real, If you've been in this one year, two year, three years, five years, I'm going on six years, I, I literally cannot believe it. It feels like a long time. It also feels like I blinked and were here, and there are definitely moments in business where things kind of get boring sometimes. Maybe they feel stagnant, maybe they feel stale. Maybe they feel like I need some new spicy energy. So how do we make them fun again? Because at the end of the. your business is not supposed to just replace your nine to five. It's not supposed to be this thing that you're like, Ah, tomorrow's Monday. And I, I gotta show open the business and I gotta do this, and I gotta do this, and I gotta do this. I think the moment that the business starts to feel like that, we wanna look at it and be like, Okay, why isn't this fun anymore? Why is this feeling hard? Why is this feeling stagnant? And how can I switch things up? Because at the end of the day, you're the boss. You're the boss, and I know for me, and I'm assuming if you're listening to this podcast for you as well, You didn't create a business that you like wanna hate. You didn't create a business that feels stuffy and stale and stagnant and hard and like, uh, I gotta show up. Like, that's not the vibe. You created this. You were the boss. You determine how it feels. And so I wanted to take your power back in this moment before we dive into the goodness. I wanna invite you to take your power back because it's, it, it lands within you, it is within you. You get to change and shift things at any moment. I am like the biggest believer of this when it comes to being a business owner. We control it. We control it. Um, and so it's up to you. And so let's dive into how to make things fun Again, if it's feeling hard, sticky, stagnant, boring, less, switch it up. First thing I wanna invite you to do is if things aren't feeling fun or they're feeling hard and sticky and you're like, Uh, what should I do with this business? First thing I wanna invite you to do and I wanna invite you to do this often, take a break and live your damn life. I find so often that we become business owners and then we end up working more than we ever did in our nine to fives pretty wild, right? But it happens. All the time. I have women that come to me all of the time because this is how they're running their business and they're like, Michelle, I'm working so. Much, and trust me, I'm not saying to never work and I'm not saying to barely work, but what I am saying is to be intentional with your work, to be intentional with your schedule, to be intentional with the things that you are doing. I am so intentional about every single thing that I do, and I teach this to my clients because, one, it'll allow you to make more money because when you're intentional with your time, you're intentional with what you're doing inside of that. and it's going to give you way more time to live your life outside of your business. And when you live your life outside of your business and you have more fun in your actual life, business feels more fun, business feels more exciting. I know, like I take weekends off and on Mondays, I'm so excited to get back into work. And I don't do calls on Mondays. I don't do my calls till Tuesday. So by the time Tuesday rolls around, I usually haven't been on calls since the thought the previous Wednesday or Thursday. I rarely do calls on Thursdays. Sometimes I do, depending on the schedule and the week. Um, so most of the time I haven't been on calls since the previous Wednesday. It's been a lot of days in between then and that following Tuesday that I'm like so excited to touch base with my clients and get on calls with them. So what I'm saying is, We're not here to barely work and we're not here to do nothing but be intentional with your time and have more fun. The more fun you have in your personal life, business will be more fun and you're gonna start to look forward to even the mundane things you're gonna be like. I'm so excited. Like my Mondays are CEO days and it's a lot of back end work usually, like today, as today is podcast recording. I'm recording podcasts, um, I'm reviewing branding from IT team. I'm catching up with some clients like I'm doing backend. And I'm like so excited about it, I'm like, it's not like all the bells and whistles. I'm like going through my bookkeeping. We hit really big milestones inside the business recently, personally and in the business, and I'll share those with you soon. Um, but it, but it's just like, it's a work day, you know? And I'll work a couple hours and I'll go live my life. The cleaning company's coming, we're gonna go to Target. And like, that's a fun day. And I'm so excited. I got a little bit of business. I gotta build a life living. And it gets to work. And so in, I invite you to live your life outside of your business. Something else I recently started doing, um, and many of you have been in my dms about this and I love it. We're like a book club, an unofficial book club right now, you guys, me, um, those of you that follow me on Instagram, if you don't highly recommend following on Instagram so we can connect there. Feel free to DM me. I love talking to you guys. that, listen to the podcast. You guys are my podcast fam. Do not be shy. Um, would love to connect with you. Something I recently started doing outside of like living my life. Um, I'm a homebody through and through, so I love leaving my house, but I also like love being home and that is just the truest of the true things. And um, I am somebody that likes to have my hands busy. I like to be doing things and what I was finding in like. Free time was, I was either scrolling or I was watching TV and like that was all fine, but I kind of got sick of it and I kind of got bored on it, bored of it. And sometimes like when you're like feeling those things in personal parts of your life, it can trickle over into the business. And so something I had to recently ask myself was, what do I enjoy doing? that isn't these things, that isn't like scrolling on TikTok, watching dog videos or watching TV or rewatching a series. I'm like infamous for that. Um, because I like predictability. So if I know how it ends, I'll most likely watch it again. So, Recently I started reading and I got into the calling Hoover Books. If you're calling Hoover fan, shout out to you. Um, I'm a new fan. I can't, I'm not gonna sit here and be like, I read everything. I've only read two books. I'm on my third book right now. Um, and so in between work, like even today, um, con gets home from work later before the cleaning company comes. I know I'll have free time in my schedule. I'll read because that's something that calms my mind, that calms my body and that's fun for me. And your idea of fun might look different for you, but giving yourself space in between work will make work more fun. But it's so easy. We work from home, we work from our phones. It is so easy to work all the time. It is so easy to refresh your phone all the time. I'm talking to you. If you're feeling like Michelle, you just called me out. Like if you're refreshing your phone nonstop throughout the day, that is making business way less. I promise you that does not serve you. That does not serve anyone. It just makes you obsessed and it's okay to be obsessed with what you do. And passionate and purposeful, but you're obsessed with checking. Checking to see if people reached out and they'll reach out. I, one of my mentors once put out a post that said, Like what? What's that saying? I'm gonna mess this up. I'm so bad with sayings, but like, what's the saying that like a watched pot doesn't boil. Like that's the same thing. It's kind of like waiting for your food that's like in the microwave and you're like, oh, two minutes feels so long because you're watching it. But like if you were to like, throw out the garbage and like go to the bathroom and feed your puppy or like do anything else in those two minutes, you'd be like, Oh, the food's already done. I can't believe it's already been two. That's the same thing with like constantly checking your phone. Like go live your life. Do something, read, paint your nails, take a bath, watch tv. Like whatever it might be. Anytime that you have free time, like live your life, business will be so much more fun. And I like, I wanna promise you something. The more that you live your life, the more fun you have. Business will be more fun. You will be more, more magnetic and you will make more. I, I like, can attest to this, but the more we obsess, the more we're in it, the more we're like, it's not working or it's working, or whatever it might be. We're like, Ugh, obsessing. And it's like all we think about, it's all we do. You're human outside of your business. I wanna invite you to be human. So some things I want you to ask yourself in today's episode. After this episode, feel free to write these down. Sit and think about these things. I recently had to do that when I like ordered four of Colleen Hoover's books. Literally the day I asked myself these questions, I went on Amazon ordered books, and I could not wait for them to get here cause I was so ready to start. So I wanna invite you to commit to this. What are things that excite you? What are things that are fun? What things haven't you done or aren't doing because you're sitting and scrolling and forcing yourself to work? Like once my, I created to-do list every single day. Normally it's three to five things. I learned that very early on in business, that three to five things, I don't need a running to-do list of 20 things. That's daunting and I'm not gonna get anything done. If I do that three to five things every day. The moment that those are crossed off outside of like client stuff, like calls or whatever else might be on my schedule, I'm. I'm literally done, and I'm gonna read, like today I had a goal of recording a certain amount of podcast episodes, so we're doing that, and the sooner I do that, I can go live my life versus procrastinating and sitting on my phone and then like forcing myself to do more work. Then I'm gonna get really bored and or feel like work. My business is like hard or not fun. Now if business feels boring or stale, I want you to think about something because I see this happen all the time. Oftentimes when things feel quote unquote boring or stale in the business, it doesn't always mean to burn it all to the ground. Sometimes it does. I've done that with many clients where we just had to burn the whole thing to the ground, and I don't mean like change the LLC name and like create new Instagram. Sometimes that's the case, but most of the time it's like we're restructuring a lot of things just cuz it's not serving the overall goal. It's not serving. And maybe serving them right now, but it's not serving them where they wanna go long term. And that's something I'm really big on inside of business. Most business owners think about today and tomorrow and the money that they're gonna make this. While that's important, I like to think about six months, 12 months, two years from now, what do you want this business to look like? And so the things that we're doing, implementing planning for creating, it's all very intentional so that it serves you in the long run. So sometimes, yeah, it's applicable to burn it all to the ground. Most of the time it's not, if it's feeling boil, boring or, or stale. We're not gonna burn it all to the ground. And it doesn't always mean to create a new offer to bring in more excitement. I see people do this all the time where they create something on like that one day when they're feeling so bored or stale. They're like, Oh, we're gonna create a new offer. And then they're like, Shit. Now I have like so much on my plate. Sometimes that's not the answer. So bringing more excitement to the business can be as simple as scheduling like a new photo shoot and going shopping can be as simple. As switching up your marketing something. You guys know this. If you've been listening to a lot of my podcasts, um, if you've been closely in my world, if you don't know this, I have been obsessed with learning and diving into and mastering marketing, the ins and outs of marketing over the last one and a half years. And truthfully, I'm just obsessed with it. I love pouring this into my clients, the results that they're seeing, the results I'm seeing, it's just paying off tenfold. It's insane. Um, and so with that, Business has never felt better and it's also never felt more exciting. I just said to a mentor the other day, like, I just feel like business is so good and it's so exciting because of my messaging. And I think that when you're really excited about your messaging and when you're really excited about what you're creating day to day and what you're putting out and you're not just doing it to check it off, a list of like, I gotta put my post out. You're literally the person behind the scenes that when you put the post out, you can't stop rereading it because it's just so fucking good. You don't even care how many people like it or comment you. It's just like, it's so good. Business will be exciting. Um, something that also makes business exciting is sharing things openly that like really ignite your fire in this business. Sharing vulnerably. I know that anytime I share something vulnerable, um, that feels like in the moment really good for me to share. Like it's intentional that I'm sharing it. I'm not sharing it just to share it, but I'm opening up and it pushes an edge for me. Things feel exciting if you've been avoiding increasing your rates. And you feel the nudge to increase them. That's exciting. If you wanna sell more. Selling in general is exciting. Making money is, it's always exciting. Like let's be real about that. Sell more. That is an easy, like all these things can, like literally, I'm snapping my fingers. You can't hear them on the podcast, but it's like those little things bring excitement into a. Run a free or paid masterclass. Like I think master classes are so fun. I think when they stop being fun is when, um, you've got this really strategic launch plan and you're like only doing it because whoever taught you that launch plan told you that you had to have a, a free or paid masterclass or a challenge inside of it. I think that's when it's not fun. I never do them that way, ever, but you guys know I'm. the unlaunched queen, like never launch, and I don't really teach it. Um, I have my own methods for selling out programs and it just works super, super well. You guys know this about me at this point, and so I don't ever run a free or paid masterclass because I have to, and so doing it because I want to, and inviting you to do that because you want to is so fun and switches at the energy immediately, but it's not a matter of creating a whole new program or burning the business to the ground. And oftentimes when we feel stagnant or bored, it's simply a matter of moving the energy, living your life more, and switching things up just a little bit. Now, I want you to come back to this episode as much as you feel called to. I want you to really ask yourself those questions of what things excite you, what things are fun, what things haven't you done or aren't you doing because you're sitting and scrolling and sitting and adding on extra work into your plate. Just because you have the free time to do so, live your life. I love you, you wealthy woman, You, and I'll see you in the next episode.
