Speaker A

Welcome to Love Notes from Rhonda.

Speaker A

And today I'm going to read you.

Speaker B

Something else from Roomie.

Speaker B

Yes, that's right.

Speaker B

I love Roomie so.

Speaker B

And I think it's good that you and I read together some poetry every month so that we together remember that poetry is the language of the soul and that it says things that we can't, you know, so many times we don't have the words for, but poetry.

Speaker A

Gives us the words.

Speaker B

So today I'm going to read something from Rumi.

Speaker B

The one thing you must do.

Speaker B

The one thing that you must do.

Speaker A

There is one thing in this world which you must never forget to do.

Speaker A

If you forget everything else and not this, there is nothing to worry about.

Speaker A

But if you remember everything else and forget this, then you will have done nothing in your life.

Speaker A

It is as if a king has sent you to some country to do a task and you perform a hundred other services, but not the one he sent you to do.

Speaker A

So human beings come into the world to do particular work.

Speaker A

That work is the purpose, and each is specific to the person.

Speaker A

If you don't do it, it's as though a knife of the finest tempering were nailed into a wall to hang things on for a penny.

Speaker A

An iron nail could be bought to serve for that.

Speaker A

Remember the deep root of your being, the presence of your lord.

Speaker A

Give your life to the one who already owns your breath and your moments.

Speaker A

If you don't, you will be like the little one who takes a precious dagger and hammers it into his kitchen wall for a peg to hold his dipper gourd.

Speaker A

You'll be wasting valuable ness and foolishly ignoring your dignity and your purpose.

Speaker B

The one thing you must do.

Speaker B

The one thing that you must do.

Speaker A

There's one thing in this world which you must never forget to do.

Speaker A

If you forget everything else and not this, well, there's nothing to worry about.

Speaker A

But if you remember everything else and forget this, then you will have done nothing in your life.

Speaker A

It is as if a king has sent you to some country to do a task and you perform a hundred other services, but not the one he sent you to do.

Speaker B

The one thing you must do.

Speaker B

The one thing you must do.

Speaker B

What is the thing that you must do in this lifetime that you cannot forget to do?

Speaker B

What is the one thing what is the one thing that you must not forget to do?

Speaker B

Don't make this hard.

Speaker B

Just allow it to flow through you.

Speaker B

It might be as simple as love.

Speaker B

It might be as simple as speak.

Speaker A

Up.

Speaker B

Or to live in grace.

Speaker A

Have.

Speaker B

A voice, own my power.

Speaker B

It might be more concrete like share a message.

Speaker B

It might be help others might be specific Feed the hungry or build something that lasts.

Speaker B

What is the one thing that you cannot forget to do in this lifetime?

Speaker B

As Rumi says, the one thing you must do.

Speaker A

If you forget everything else and not.

Speaker B

This, there is nothing to worry about.

Speaker A

But if you remember everything else and forget this, then you will have done.

Speaker B

Nothing in your life.

Speaker B

I know you're here right now, so you're already doing it.

Speaker B

Acknowledge it.

Speaker B

And then allow the thing that whispers in your soul to be heard.

Speaker B

Until next time, be fearless.

Speaker B

I love you.
