Melissa Deally:

Welcome back to another episode of health hacks as I continue talking about 12 easy tips that you can implement this month on your health journey to optimize your health. And today, I want to talk to you about your liver and your detox pathways. Your liver literally works 24/7 to detox your body, and we need to give it a helping hand, because, unfortunately, we live in a very toxic world, and it needs a boost in order to be able to do its job properly. When it gets overwhelmed, just like when we get overwhelmed, we don't do anything well. And what happens then is it can't fully get the toxins out of your body, and it has to pick and choose between which of the 500 jobs that it has to do it's able to cope with. And sometimes what happens is, if it can't get the toxins out of your body, it will store them in your fat closets and keep them in your body, and yet still keep them out of your bloodstream, which is its main goal. It's very smart. However, do you really want those toxins in your body? I don't think so. So ways that you can give your liver a boost and support it are by staying hydrated, flushing your body with waters that drinks that hydrate, so water, herbal teas, your protein shakes and smoothies, alcohol is not helping your liver, and neither are sugary processed drinks, etc. You want to enjoy adding detoxifying foods to your meals, like cruciferous vegetables, beets, turmeric, cilantro, and you can also help your body detox. It has four main detox pathways, your skin, your bowels, your urine and your breath. So sweat it out with exercise, go to sauna sessions or have a detox bath. And then, as I said, alcohol doesn't help your liver, and neither does caffeine. So cut back, cut back on your consumption of those in order to give your liver a break. And you can also check out my self guided health kickstart and detox program, because that program is literally designed, if your liver was a overflowing trash can. It's literally designed to pick it up and dump it all out, like, let's get really get rid of all those toxins in your body and give yourself a reset. And it's incredibly powerful.
