Speaker A

Welcome to Love Notes from Rhonda.

Speaker A

And today I want to talk about the difference between fantasy and reality.

Speaker A

I think we've all grown up and probably for many of us, maybe not all of us, we had a fantasy of what our life would look like.

Speaker A

Maybe you've reached a certain age where you think, I thought it was going to be different now.

Speaker A

I thought it was going to be different.

Speaker A

I thought I was going to have this, be this, say this, do this.

Speaker A

I thought by the time I was this old, my life would be different than the way it is.

Speaker A

Maybe you grew up with a fantasy that, you know, felt impossible.

Speaker A

You know, marrying a prince or princess or, you know, becoming famous or making a trillion dollars.

Speaker A

By the way, all those things are not fantasies.

Speaker A

Those things can come true.

Speaker A

Those can be reality.

Speaker A

Yet today I want to talk about the difference between the fantasy of what you thought your life would be like versus the reality of what it is like.

Speaker A

Because in order to have peace, we must reconcile those two things.

Speaker A

We must reconcile the fantasy or who we thought we'd be right now.

Speaker A

What we thought we'd have right now.

Speaker A

With the reality of our life.

Speaker A

I'm not talking about lowering your dreams or aspirations.

Speaker A

I'm not talking about taking away miracle mindedness or taking away your dreams and desires.

Speaker A

But I am saying we have to know where we are.

Speaker A

Before we can keep creating something new.

Speaker A

When we're in denial and just keep having a fantasy, hoping that the miracle will happen, yet not participating in the miracle, yet not looking at the life we have now and telling ourselves the truth about it.

Speaker A

Miracles are less apt to happen because we're not creating the fertile soil for them to blossom, bloom.

Speaker A

So what is it that you thought your life would be like today?

Speaker A

I want you to just take some jot, some notes down today about what you thought would be happening by now in your life.

Speaker A

And what is the reality?

Speaker A

How far are those two things apart?

Speaker A

And by the way, what parts of your life right now, in your reality are actually things that came true that you never even imagined, that are actually quite shocking and quite miraculous?

Speaker A

And they weren't ever in your fantasy file?

Speaker A

So today, ask yourself.

Speaker A

What don't I have that I always thought I'd have?

Speaker A

What do I have that I never expected to have?

Speaker A

And how far apart are my fantasy and reality?

Speaker A

And then reconcile those.

Speaker A

Allow the fantasy, ask yourself about the fantasy, and ask if you're willing to participate, do you want to actually make that come true?

Speaker A

Because you may still want to make that come true.

Speaker A

And I say Go.

Speaker A

Go for it.

Speaker A

Or is it time to lay down that fantasy in order to embrace the life you have and create a life.

Speaker A

That your soul intends?

Speaker A

Anchor yourself, awaken your vision with something new.

Speaker A

Because lots of times those old fantasies and those old dreams kind of like hang around our neck and actually stop us from allowing ourselves to create anew.

Speaker A

Because we think, well, I didn't have that happen, so I guess I can't have what I want.

Speaker A

So I guess I just should accept the way I am.

Speaker A

I should just accept it.

Speaker A

People say you should be happy with what you have.

Speaker A

Mm.

Speaker A

Mm.

Speaker A

That's not what we're doing today.

Speaker A

We're looking at the fantasy, we're looking at the reality.

Speaker A

We're telling ourselves the truth.

Speaker A

And then we're deciding, making a decision, making a decision on how we wanna move forward.

Speaker A

What pieces of those fantasies do we wanna keep and want to pursue?

Speaker A

And what parts of those fantasies do we wanna release and let go?

Speaker A

Because it was really just our child trying to avoid reality.

Speaker A

I remember when I wanted to be famous growing up.

Speaker A

I thought that if I was famous, then I wouldn't have any problems and people would solve all my problems for me.

Speaker A

Well, when I did experience my little tiny brush with fame, that is not what happens at all.

Speaker A

So I had fantasies when I was younger, thinking if those fantasies came true, I could avoid parts of my life.

Speaker A

Well, that part of the fantasy has to go.

Speaker A

And what part of the fantasy do you want to still cultivate?

Speaker A

This is your opportunity today.

Speaker A

Be open and available.

Speaker A

The new year is soon upon us.

Speaker A

Start deciding how you want to create.

Speaker A

Make some of that fantasy a reality, and then let that other part of the fantasy go.

Speaker A

Until next time, be fearless.

Speaker A

I love you.
