Chelsey Donn:And I have like, maybe embarrassingly been watching it.

Chelsey Donn:It is kind of hilarious at like the degree of separation from real life.
Chelsey Donn:The last episode that I watched Chris and Kylie wanted to do normal things.
Chelsey Donn:So they went to the grocery store the process of.
Chelsey Donn:Of Chris, like trying to put the chip in for the credit card machine to read the chip.
Chelsey Donn:I was just like, oh my God, I didn't even, I mean, I understand they talk about not wanting
Chelsey Donn:Like she's not gone to a store.
Chelsey Donn:And paid for things herself to the point where putting inserting a chip into a
Chelsey Donn:And it was just so funny, like she was filling her gas, which I guess she never does anymore.
Chelsey Donn:And she was very proud of herself.
Chelsey Donn:She was like, it's like riding a bike.
Chelsey Donn:And I, I just thought, wow, that's so crazy that they don't do these
Chelsey Donn:I Donn know it was very strange.
Trey Gerrald:Well, I've actually never seen an episode of keeping up with their Kardashians.
Chelsey Donn:Good for
Trey Gerrald:not seen the new show.
Trey Gerrald:I've also never seen real Housewives, but did watch the Jenny Jones show, which used
Chelsey Donn:Oh, true.
Trey Gerrald:Donn.
Chelsey Donn:That's true.
Chelsey Donn:I did watch some Jenny Jones back in the day, Moy, the Moy.
Chelsey Donn:And then like, if you were really feeling, especially, uh, scandalous.
Chelsey Donn:You would watch,
Trey Gerrald:Jerry spring.
Chelsey Donn:Jerry Springer?
Trey Gerrald:Did you know that Jenny Jones was canceled because the show
Trey Gerrald:And it was a gay person who was telling a, their straight friend, they were in love with them.
Trey Gerrald:And the straight friend was so humiliated that he shot and murdered friend afterwards.
Trey Gerrald:And so the family sued the Jenny Jones show
Chelsey Donn:Oh my
Trey Gerrald:did not tell the person That the person se confessing
Trey Gerrald:Because of that fragile masculinity, he murdered the friend that had a crush on
Chelsey Donn:so scary and insane.
Chelsey Donn:And wow.

Trey Gerrald:Anyway, speaking of horrific, horrible things, I have to share with
Trey Gerrald:So I woke up literally Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:I talked about this with my therapist.
Trey Gerrald:Cause my therapist understands like, Uh, dream symbolism and what it represents in your life.
Trey Gerrald:So I'm not going to, I, I do not wish to share what I was dreaming about, but
Chelsey Donn:my God.
Chelsey Donn:Stop.
Trey Gerrald:and Chelsey, Winnie David was already awake and working in the basement.
Trey Gerrald:So he didn't even hear, but Winnie, like ran over and was like, licking me, like licking me.
Trey Gerrald:But were like, it was like, a scared lick.
Trey Gerrald:It wasn't
Chelsey Donn:are you
Trey Gerrald:Yes.
Trey Gerrald:But I was having a night terror, which I've now Googled an UN unfolded, but I literally vocalized
Trey Gerrald:Isn't that horrible.
Chelsey Donn:That's really terrifying.
Chelsey Donn:I've been having very weird dreams lately too.
Chelsey Donn:Not like not really hard dreams.
Chelsey Donn:Thankfully, although like one was very scary and they looked it up and the dream
Chelsey Donn:You know, I Donn know, I don't even like to put it into the energy, but it was not what I
Chelsey Donn:And I feel like my general feeling about dream interpretation, especially
Chelsey Donn:But, uh, I think that there's definitely not a one size fits all to the dream psychology.
Chelsey Donn:I really feel like it has to do with what's happening in your life.
Chelsey Donn:And any symbolism.
Chelsey Donn:If you really think about it, you can probably put the pieces together.
Trey Gerrald:Right.
Chelsey Donn:On your own,
Trey Gerrald:Wait, speaking of symbolism and, and stuff today is my mom's birthday.

Chelsey Donn:Thank you for your sigh of like acknowledgement, but you know, just been on my mind,

Chelsey Donn:so that's really, that's been taking up a lot of my energy and it's in
Trey Gerrald:Or when you try to like put a bandaid around the knuckle, like where

Chelsey Donn:And Goldie likes to bite the bandaid, like off my finger.
Chelsey Donn:So I just have to go rogue with it and hope that I don't get any kind of infection, but I think I

Chelsey Donn:I'm mostly vegetarian.
Chelsey Donn:I will eat chicken.
Chelsey Donn:I will eat meat occasionally.
Chelsey Donn:But I ordered chicken dumplings, cuz I like the chicken dumplings from this place.
Trey Gerrald:or fried
Chelsey Donn:Steamed I've probably gotten them from this restaurant dozens of time, this time
Chelsey Donn:Okay.
Chelsey Donn:Finding an unexpected bone in a meat product.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, because dumpling, you know, the center of it like ground chicken,
Trey Gerrald:Oh no, no, no, no,
Chelsey Donn:they probably , they probably put the chicken or whatever in
Chelsey Donn:I'm I I'm like gonna have to rethink all kinds of things
Trey Gerrald:Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, was

Chelsey Donn:No.
Chelsey Donn:It was like a teeny, tiny, crunch, but it was like, I know, but it like enough.

Chelsey Donn:I couldn't eat the rest of the dumplings.

Chelsey Donn:The next time I'm gonna be able to order from this restaurant in general.

Chelsey Donn:I remember in college, my friend, Liz Alder, fur was eating at papaya king.

Chelsey Donn:I think actually the one that like closer to 14th street

Trey Gerrald:My therapist used

Chelsey Donn:And she bit into a hot dog and a bone came out.
Chelsey Donn:Of a hot dog.
Chelsey Donn:It didn't even happen to me.
Chelsey Donn:I remember being mortified.
Chelsey Donn:I wanna say she just like spit it out and then continued eating the hot dog.
Chelsey Donn:I, I just like, I can't, I'm so close to being a vegetarian and I understand that I'm
Chelsey Donn:That's on the bone.
Chelsey Donn:I don't like anything about the process of eating the food to remind me where it came from.
Chelsey Donn:It like skis me out.
Chelsey Donn:I just need that separation of mind.
Chelsey Donn:I like the taste, but I don't want to be reminded when I'm eating the thing,
Chelsey Donn:So I'm lodging a Complaint and I won't put the restaurant on blast, but whew.

Chelsey Donn:didn't hear any of that.
Chelsey Donn:You were frozen the whole time.

Trey Gerrald:I hate bad service.
Trey Gerrald:hate bad service when you are, especially in this day and age of zoom.
Trey Gerrald:When you have a very important phone call or a very important Skype meeting or a very
Trey Gerrald:I, I lost you.
Trey Gerrald:Oh Or.
Trey Gerrald:The worst case scenario.
Trey Gerrald:And this happens to us sometimes where you
Trey Gerrald:get a freeze frame and of course your face is in the disgusting,
Chelsey Donn:always.
Trey Gerrald:especially when it's a business or a very important meeting.
Trey Gerrald:Like I, this once happened, like I don't wanna go into all these details cuz it's stupid.
Trey Gerrald:But like I once, uh, was switching managers and my managers are in Los Angeles.
Trey Gerrald:So the only way I could meet with them was on Skype.
Trey Gerrald:And I was so terrified of having bad service.
Trey Gerrald:That I had to sit in a really weird position and it had to be Skype.
Trey Gerrald:So I was like in the window to get really good lighting.
Trey Gerrald:Like the service was so choppy, but no one was acknowledging it and my leg fell asleep.
Trey Gerrald:And so we were saying our goodbyes,
Chelsey Donn:Oh, stop.
Trey Gerrald:to Christ that this happened to me.
Trey Gerrald:And I stood up and I literally tum tumbled to
Chelsey Donn:Oh, no,
Trey Gerrald:because my leg went to sleep no.
Trey Gerrald:one
Trey Gerrald:acknowledged it.
Trey Gerrald:And I, but like I had, it was on the computer.
Trey Gerrald:So the computer went with me, so I just tried to play it off.
Trey Gerrald:And I think that that lives so severely inside of me Anytime I have a meeting or anything that
Trey Gerrald:I'm so worried of, of it being dropped.
Trey Gerrald:Like somehow I'm responsible for my wifi connection.
Trey Gerrald:Like I maybe we are, But like anyway,
Chelsey Donn:also like anything could happen.
Trey Gerrald:well that's my Complaint is like the anxiety around the bad service and losing
Trey Gerrald:Position.
Trey Gerrald:And then how much time has gone by where you Donn didn't know or they didn't know.
Trey Gerrald:And then it's like, you know, just high level anxiety attack
Chelsey Donn:Totally on all sides.
Chelsey Donn:Ugh.
Chelsey Donn:I hate that.

Trey Gerrald:But I was actually a pretty happy kid.

Trey Gerrald:It was fascinating.
Trey Gerrald:It was adventurous.

Trey Gerrald:I mean that there was nothing in the book that made me Atal gasp or cry or

Trey Gerrald:So yes, it was a nice read, but so were many other books I read this year and this one

Chelsey Donn:We used average vocabulary when we were describing things, we them, you know,
Chelsey Donn:I mean, the language in this was nothing to write home about.
Chelsey Donn:So I just don't understand the device.

Chelsey Donn:Harry Potter and how you feel for having missed out for whatever reason on this trend.

Chelsey Donn:I mean, again, more psychology about the good verse, bad.
Chelsey Donn:Like I'm gonna be honest and vulnerable.

Chelsey Donn:I didn't read the Harry Potter books either.
Chelsey Donn:I didn't read Percy Jackson.
Chelsey Donn:I didn't read any of those things.

Chelsey Donn:Cuz I was like, On my bike in my neighborhood, hanging out with my friends,

Chelsey Donn:But I just think there's not a lot of value when you're bringing in so much
Chelsey Donn:I mean, maybe a lot of people have a similar psychological problem, but I just think this is
Trey Gerrald:there's a battle going on,
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, like you have the choice, the choice is yours.
Chelsey Donn:The magic is yours.
Chelsey Donn:It is in your hands.
Trey Gerrald:I also really did feel like truthful versus shady here.
Trey Gerrald:I think that like the nuts and bolts of this review in May's opinion, which is what you're
Trey Gerrald:Is that may felt like it's not spectacular.
Trey Gerrald:It's like, it's totally whatever it is.
Trey Gerrald:And I'll try the next book.
Trey Gerrald:Like I think that's why people perhaps were not attacking her or them because basically It's
Trey Gerrald:So
Chelsey Donn:like, don't you think that, that, that assessment, which again,
Chelsey Donn:Like, it didn't like blow my socks off and, and sometimes knock my socks off.
Chelsey Donn:And then in that case, sometimes you wish, I wish people didn't tell me how great the movie is.
Chelsey Donn:Cuz maybe then I would've enjoyed it more.
Chelsey Donn:So I understand that.
Chelsey Donn:Aspect of it, but I feel like if the, if the point that you're trying to get across is it was fine.
Chelsey Donn:I do feel like that message got muddied.
Chelsey Donn:Now I do think readers of good read reviews are more willing to go the long mile
Trey Gerrald:Correct.
Chelsey Donn:and really get into the individual experience.
Chelsey Donn:For me, it took me out of it.
Chelsey Donn:It was a distraction, the attitude, the almost
Trey Gerrald:You should be grateful
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:The both self, self aggrandizing, and also self victimizing that was inherent within
Chelsey Donn:I Donn don't know if I can trust me because in one moment they're talking like they're
Chelsey Donn:And then in the other moment, they're like, Wow.
Chelsey Donn:I had a bad childhood or everybody thinks I did.
Chelsey Donn:And I'm being bullied.
Chelsey Donn:I don't know.
Chelsey Donn:It just feels like a lot for a medium temperatured
Trey Gerrald:children's book.
Chelsey Donn:Yeah.
Chelsey Donn:And children's like, and I remember from my childhood that what happened was the
Chelsey Donn:And then as the books went on, they became like much longer, much more like evolved.
Chelsey Donn:So I would.
Chelsey Donn:If I get through this first book, like, you know, it's kind of like the first season
Chelsey Donn:Yeah, the first season's good.
Chelsey Donn:But like, like I feel like shits Creek, right?
Chelsey Donn:Like the first season is good, but if you like stay on the ride with
Chelsey Donn:You love it.
Chelsey Donn:You're in it.
Chelsey Donn:You know?
Chelsey Donn:And I think that this is similar where it's like you get through the
Chelsey Donn:So are we getting new information from Queen?
Chelsey Donn:May.
Chelsey Donn:That we didn't already know.
Chelsey Donn:I am shocked personally, that that many people liked this review and that that many people
Chelsey Donn:And especially for millennials and younger, I feel like really discovered their love for
Chelsey Donn:So I would imagine.
Chelsey Donn:That this must be one of the most popular pages on good reads.
Chelsey Donn:So maybe just the volume of people that are going through this pages higher.
Chelsey Donn:And that's why there are that many replies.
Chelsey Donn:I feel like it would be a little more obvious if we had a comparison
Trey Gerrald:There's a lot of discourse, which is interesting.
Trey Gerrald:It's interesting to me, but yes, the book itself has like 800 million bajillion reviews.
Chelsey Donn:Right, right.
Trey Gerrald:So were you entertained?
Chelsey Donn:I was, I was like a little bit entertained again, like only because I felt
Chelsey Donn:And so whenever I'm like, oof, I know this girl, you know, like one minute
Chelsey Donn:So I, I, I understood who this person was.
Chelsey Donn:And so following that journey was interesting, but I don't know that that was like intentional.
Chelsey Donn:Humor or anything like that?
Chelsey Donn:How about you?
Trey Gerrald:I was entertained.
Trey Gerrald:I think it's funny, like, as you?

Chelsey Donn:And I guess the spelling, I just thought there was a whole lot of Queen may in this and not a
Chelsey Donn:Like we're using very basic words to describe what we're calling something very basic.
Chelsey Donn:I didn't, sometimes you read those reviews and it's like, You can almost see how the
Chelsey Donn:And I, that's what I love in a, in a good reads review that passion.
Chelsey Donn:And I feel like it was a little ranty.
Chelsey Donn:It was a little complainy and I just couldn't, I couldn't give Queen may
Chelsey Donn:Tell me I'm wrong if I'm wrong.
Chelsey Donn:But, uh, I went with two and a half.
Chelsey Donn:Why did you go with three and a.
Trey Gerrald:Well, I was gonna do three just because may gave it three and so average.
Trey Gerrald:But then I was like, well, okay, so I did three and a half because ultimately
Trey Gerrald:I also think it's like too injected with like random hangups from
Chelsey Donn:Good
Trey Gerrald:But I really liked all of that to the point of, like, I got a
Trey Gerrald:And then I also thought it was an interesting point to just sort of the say.
Trey Gerrald:I think it's not spectacular.
Trey Gerrald:It's not good.
Trey Gerrald:It's not bad.
Trey Gerrald:It's very average.
Trey Gerrald:It's, read many books that I thought were more compelling, made me gas, but
Trey Gerrald:So for that reason, I thought maybe there's some value there.
Trey Gerrald:I Donn don't think it's a deal breaker for me.
Trey Gerrald:I, you know, like I'm not gonna read it, but I thought it was an interesting
Trey Gerrald:And so for that reason, I said three and a half, you know?
Trey Gerrald:Yeah,

Chelsey Donn:Extremely clean to the point with every single time that I'm there.
Chelsey Donn:She has a Swiffer she's out swiveling the floors.
Chelsey Donn:Like there is a lot of concerted effort to make sure that it not only is it
Chelsey Donn:We know that it's, it's not for show cuz you walk in and it's extremely clean and then
Chelsey Donn:You can see that she really, really cares and, and it feels like she's the type of owner.
