Speaker BYou don't need a full blown system to feel in control.
Speaker BYou just need a few small systems that compound over time.
Speaker BToday I'm sharing five ridiculously simple systems that all take less than five minutes, but that can radically shift your day.
Speaker BOkay, system number one is something you're probably already doing, but I want you to start thinking, thinking about it a little bit more intentionally and it is going to be your decision dashboard.
Speaker BNow this can be housed anywhere you want.
Speaker BYou can put it in notion, you can put it in Trello, you can put it in Google Calendar, you can put it on a post it note, you can write it on a legal pad.
Speaker BI used to have a friend when I worked in a traveling sales job and she would literally put her decisions on her dashboard with a post it note.
Speaker BSo you can put this forever you want.
Speaker BBut think about your actions you need to take during the day.
Speaker BNot to do's not projects the actual action that you need to take.
Speaker BThink about the outfits that you want to wear, think about the meals that you want to make.
Speaker BJust go through and pre make decisions and stick a post it note on it.
Speaker BIt literally will take you maybe three to five minutes and it's something that will help eliminate decision fatigue on the forefront.
Speaker BAnd that's what you want, isn't it?
Speaker BOkay, system number two, the three tips task rule.
Speaker BEvery single morning I want you to take a couple of minutes and I want you to decide three needle moving tasks that you want to accomplish in the day.
Speaker BThis is not intended to make you feel pressure or make you feel like.
Speaker BBut Blakely, I've got more than three things that I need to get done in the day.
Speaker BI absolutely understand that.
Speaker BBut if you write down every single thing that you need to get done in a week or a month and you've got it on one running to do list, it is going to overwhelm your brain.
Speaker BI promise you, if you put three tasks on a to do list, you accomplish those tasks, it is going to give you this level of confidence and you can absolutely do more.
Speaker BBut the likelihood is there are probably very few things you actually need to get done and get Them done well in a day.
Speaker BSo I would encourage you if you are like I used to be and you've got a to do list a mile long, see what needs to be deferred or delegated or just deleted.
Speaker BA lot of things on our list really honestly don't need to be done.
Speaker BThey're just busy work.
Speaker BOkay, system number three, the night before reset.
Speaker BThis is something that helps me sleep.
Speaker BIt helps me wake up clearer the next day.
Speaker BYou're just going to do a five minute reset each night.
Speaker BThis for me looks like making sure my outfit is picked out, making sure my Brita is filled up, making sure my, you know, coffee is filled.
Speaker BLike whatever I have in the morning when I'm kind of in that groggy state and I'm just wondering and walking around, I want all of that to already be done.
Speaker BSo when I wake up, I am just running through the motions and I'm not using my really valuable decision making skills on small things that aren't actually moving the needle.
Speaker BOkay, system number four.
Speaker BI talk about this all the time.
Speaker BI love a calendar time block.
Speaker BI want you to once again shift your mindset on this.
Speaker BInstead of it being so micro, just give yourself some macro time blocks.
Speaker BYou know, macro like time block time with your kids time block.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BI'm specifically going to sit down and work on social media in this 30 minute time block.
Speaker BI'm going to do this in this time block.
Speaker BJust think through activities that you need to get done and the more freedom that you have in your schedule, the more strict you're going to have to be with yourself on this.
Speaker BBut set yourself a couple time blocks.
Speaker BYou don't want to look at my calendar because it is time blocked to the nth degree.
Speaker BI time block rest.
Speaker BI time block journaling.
Speaker BI time block fun.
Speaker BI time like all the things because if it's not on my calendar, it's not going to get done.
Speaker BBut start small.
Speaker BStart with something that you've been putting off like creating a TikTok or creating a YouTube video or whatever it is.
Speaker BTime block it.
Speaker BAnd if you time block it, you will actually commit that time and get it done.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BAnd the last system is a weekly hour to reflect and review.
Speaker BI love to look back on my week before and go, you know, what worked, what didn't work, what?
Speaker BWhere did I wish I had extra time?
Speaker BWhere did I, you know, pack my schedule too much?
Speaker BI find that if I don't take intentional time to stop and review and reflect, I will just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again in the moment.
Speaker BI'll tell myself, man, I need to improve on this next time.
Speaker BBut if I don't take intentional time to journal about it, really think about it in like a quiet space, I won't change anything.
Speaker BSo gift yourself 30 minutes to an hour every week just to go back and reflect on what didn't work.
Speaker BWhat do you want to change?
Speaker BWhat do you want to add?
Speaker BDo you want to add in more fun?
Speaker BDo you want to add in a couple more work time blocks?
Speaker BLike what do you need?
Speaker BAnd gift yourself the the option to actually reflect, revise and just keep doing it.
Speaker BRepeat, repeat, repeat.
Speaker BSystems don't have to be complex.
Speaker BThat is my mission is currently When I tell people that I am a systems coach, they're like, you can literally see people's eyes glaze over and they're like, oh, systems sound boring.
Speaker BSystems seem complicated.
Speaker BWhat even is a system?
Speaker BSystems will give you so much freedom, they'll bring so much joy and abundance into your life.
Speaker BAnd what I have found through my coaching program is that yes, having systems like Notion and Trello and Post its are really important, but it's the mindset around systems that is where people struggle the most.
Speaker BSo if mindset around systems is where you struggle, make sure you subscribe.
Speaker BMake sure you follow.
Speaker BBecause I have a ton of really good content coming out over the next couple weeks and months, I'm really diving into a ton of research on this topic and I'm also diving into a way to make sure that the information that I am giving you, I'm actually giving it to you in a tangible way that's not overwhelming.
Speaker BSomething that you can go, oh, you know what, I can do that tomorrow.
Speaker BIt'll only take me five minutes.
Speaker BSo I think that I can do that.
Speaker BIf this is something that you are struggling with or you are curious about, make sure that you subscribe so that you can see all of the content that is coming out about systems soon.
