0:00
welcome back to catching up with Katie so this is a little bit different setting we are in Oklahoma City we are
0:06
actually about to go get it on plane after this but it's been a very eventful couple of days and so the whole crew
0:13
isn't here for this catching up with Katie but it is me we have Abigail my
0:18
beautiful co-host who's yawning um and then Rebecca my bestie so it's been a
0:25
wild [Laughter]
0:30
and Nate the Great hey um he slept in the closet this whole
0:40
time uh but yeah so this catching up with Katie I guess is going to be themed just kind of around this trip and the
0:47
events that unfolded and the things that happened and it's just been kind of a wild ride and I'm very very grateful so
0:54
I don't even know I don't even know where to start let's just give like a little recap of the trip so we got here
1:00
a couple days early to both shop around hang out together little team building
1:08
um also to watch Denver practice so Denver first things first is my
1:14
three-year-old stallion um oh hold on hold on hold
Matt Wakes Up
1:20
on who's awake uh come get come here come here
1:26
come here come get come come here not a
1:31
[Laughter] freaking thank you for joining us y
1:38
didn't be like that hey Matt we're doing the podcast we
1:43
did yo we've been kind of loud for the last hour and a half or so we got you
1:51
Starbucks that should be enough we got you a caramel monkey a hot he came out
1:57
like lipstick in my Valentino [Laughter]
2:04
so that's the thing is like this trip was also really fun cuz like Nate and Matt we've mentioned it before they both
2:10
like they both just birthed babies they didn't their wives did and so it's been
2:15
kind of hard the last few months to have everyone in the same room together and so this was really fun to have a trip be
2:21
able to chill out so yeah it's been fun we got to um so Denver I don't know
About Denver
2:27
where we were but Denver let's get back to him so he is a three-year-old stallion um we waited until this show
2:34
for his debut and so what he showed in is called the pleasure versatility
2:40
challenge so it's for three-year-olds only it's a kind of a mixture of Western
2:49
Pleasure halter and then there's a pattern and the pattern has aspects of Trail western riding horsemanship it had
2:57
spins it had lead changes it had um uh pole work all the things so
3:04
they're each scored individually on each different section and then there's an overall placing and so it was just kind
3:12
of wild um that that was his debut I believe I'm I'm not sure I don't want to put false information out there I don't
3:19
know that there were many other horses in the class that were true maidens they weren't allowed to show in the trail or
3:26
western riding events before the show but they could have shown in the pleasure so a lot of the horses that were in this class had been showing the
3:32
pleasure since they were two and then throughout this year so it was very very
3:38
um intense I was very nervous what okay from the outside looking in um what did
3:44
I look like yesterday you're were stressing yeah it it was I don't know I think I now know
3:50
what my mom went through with showing like watching me show because you have no control yeah and you're just letting
3:58
someone else be out there doing it and then you're just so nervous for it to happen but I I did have a question on
Nate Asks About The Spins
4:03
the spins while we were watching sometimes they would spin slow extremely
4:09
proper I would call it and then sometimes they would just whip around and then whip around is there a benefit
4:15
or Draw back to either one so it's okay if they don't so so a
4:22
pivot is where they plant one of their back feet and their uh front end they
4:28
cross over with their front legs in the front and they move around like they do a circle around like that one planted
4:33
foot in the back right so they basically dig a hole in the ground um so that's like a pivot a spin is faster if you can
4:41
do it fast and correct it's best okay I think in this
4:47
circumstance yes you want flash you want Pizzazz you want to look crisp and like ooh like that was really fancy but I
4:53
think in this circumstance with it being a younger horse um they would have rathered a little slower and like
5:00
correct you know like a good foundation this this whole class is about a good foundation to be an all-around horse
5:06
gotcha and be able to do so many different events so there were a few that I think I don't necessarily think
5:12
the it was planned for the spins to maybe be messy they probably looked
5:17
fantastic in right right in practice just like Denver Denver had those two lead change messes up he literally
5:24
doesn't mess them up in practice but it's just that that thing of it's it gets very different especially a
5:30
3-year-old horse M you walk into this Arena by yourself you would think that that's less spooky for them than going
5:37
into a big crowded warm-up Arena but in a big crowded warm-up Arena there's like consistent noise there's consistent
5:44
movement whereas when they go in there by themselves the lights are bright there's people like especially at this
5:50
class that's kind of I posted a thing on Facebook being like let's be respectful of the three-year-old horses you know cuz there's a difference between
5:56
consistent noise or like you know everyone's quiet until they hit that first lead change and then everyone's
6:01
like it was way louder at this hor show than I ever imagined and it's like I you
6:07
know there's a couple times I like you know was excited
6:12
um you what we heard you come
6:19
out um but you know it's just like I I think I think it just it just
6:26
creates a different atmosphere for those young horses and so you know for those lead changes for those spins for being
6:32
focused for being able to perform on a dime and like you know for for spin
6:38
specifically like you're asking about with young horses like that a lot of the times you'll like set them up for it so
6:45
you're you walk them in circles and you get them kind of going that direction and then you like start them into it
6:50
whereas that it's like they just did this whole pattern stop on a dime and then go right into pivoting it's very
6:56
difficult to get them to swap their brains so much you know um so I think everyone in that class did
7:01
fantastic but if you noticed I those horses that did try to do those fast
7:07
spins that probably didn't execute as great in the class they probably kill it out in the like it's just is that a
7:14
thing where some horses May naturally do better at a different speed yeah there's
7:19
I mean there's there's got to be horses that are a little more reactive that are a little more like okay so Denver is a
7:26
brick wall like he doesn't want to go anywhere fast mhm then there's other horses it's like you it's a it's a
7:33
whisper of your leg to push them and then they like move off of it you know so it's very if you let if you would let
7:39
me teach you to ride more I would I would okay I'll do it okay we'll do a Nate new series new series Abigail I
Abigail Showing
7:48
want her to show yeah oh my gosh The Saga we could The Saga I will not
7:54
learning toide there's adult walk Trot yeah I don't want to do adult walk if we go if we start showing but the adult
8:00
walk Trot is huge come on because there's so many adults that get into it late and it creates such a good spot for
8:06
them to start in and they don't have to go like all In come come on think of the movie that they make you're like you
8:13
wen't even a horse girl and now you just like you came into it you fell in love with it you got your horse that nobody
8:19
really believed in but you believed in it you had to save the Family Farm gra it's Gracie it's
8:26
Gracie me and Gracie if you don't know Gracie is my 14 hand grade brood meare
8:33
yeah so I think we got to do some walk TR an okay if Annie can tote around Presley yeah I don't know Presley skills
8:40
are pretty TP to here though little more advanced than
8:46
mine you you well she likes B better at home cuz B will actually Trot when you
8:52
ask him to Annie you have to like again brick wall she's hard to move yeah she's hard to get to do anything but what
We Are All Showing In Walk Trot
8:59
better what if we all entered the same show you want we all do walk Trot why
9:05
don't we just have a show at the house and like we don't have enough horses for this bring in a horse that would be fun
9:10
I think yeah break we break out Kennedy yeah we
9:17
break out the ex- world champion Western Pleasure horse for this walk Trot debut dibs I called it I called
9:25
it we bring vs code red out of
9:31
she got the nicest horses all in this one
9:36
show um we could okay I will say we could use Annie like what if they're just all pregnant Mars though too we
9:43
could use Annie we could use Ethel we're about to find out about Maggie that's on the to-do list but she's not registered quter horse let me see let me see happy
9:52
I don't know she's I can see Nate and happy I would love happy okay being like
9:57
do you even know who happy is I do happy super temperamental one and she was like freaking out during falling and she was
10:03
always like super mean after she gave her fo even though she was really happy and I think that that would be a really cool relationship what does happy look
10:09
like she is about yay high color and face marking oh face
10:16
marking I'm out on but she is like Spirit kind of color but like dark okay out he's out no you said but dark color
10:25
but dark but dark she's not with the blaze I think I think are you thinking of
10:31
Trudy no I know exactly who now if there's any horse that I know is happy then like and I know can't tell you what
10:37
her face looks like he can't tell you what she looks like I point her out in the crowd but like Trudy's huge and then
10:43
Happy was super mean because super ironic because she did almost happy right yeah she almost killed me happy
10:50
has very light hair yes she does she does I know I
10:55
know so Happy's broke Andy they're all broke except Ginger but like I'm broke
11:01
as far but as far as like if if they were 4 months pregnant and we decided to go to
11:08
a show and let yall do walk Trot Annie would kill it I think Ethel would kill it um maybe
11:17
happy who else Ken Kennedy could Ken Kennedy could Sophie could but that
11:23
she's an English horse I don't know I'll take Sophie you'll take Sophie I'll take Sophie what about Raven she's not r
11:33
they're all thads they're all yeah Willow would be cool can you register in appendix no cuz they're full thorough
11:40
bread oh yeah Willow's full thorough bread she say can you register an
11:45
appendix oh yeah okay that's what I saying yeah that's I was like yeah cuz wey and Ro are appendix I didn't know
11:52
they rules yeah yeah you can um could you like like to be
11:59
registered like there's no and this may have happened in the 9:30 a.m. start time that I missed but um the
12:06
registration process can only be like pedigreed right like I couldn't go out
12:11
there and tame a freaking Mustang no now there are some registrations you
12:17
could put it in not aqaa though because there's like especially
12:24
if if it had a white marking you can do the pinto registration or you can like
12:29
you can hardship into certain registrations by like pulling DNA and getting it registered and you
12:35
won't know it's pedigree but that's interesting you can start it out yeah um if we all did this walk Trot thing which
12:42
is just an idea let's bring it back actually it's just an idea we could do it at home when we uh
12:49
if let's say we're competing against others what is the age range we're competing against so y'all are all
12:56
amateurs which I'm an amateur too like that's just the age category for 18 to
13:03
50 oh close um or 19 to 50 and then select
13:12
amateur is 50 and over so you're amateur until you like do stuff like well no no
13:18
no you have to physically give up your amateur card and say I am a professional and get a professional card you don't
13:24
technically have to qualify you can just go pro but yeah
13:30
oh I put that in the bio professional horse rider I would be in it just for
In It For The Drip
13:35
the drip like regardless of how my horse performed I think that I think the style and the clothing it's just like golf
13:40
like I wouldn't want to golf but like the golf apparel is so nice what would your Western uh we talked about this
13:45
like I would totally do uh you wouldn't even get a cowboy hat I would wear one for that for sure for sure I think I'm
13:52
very black like very black with like a red bow tie or red bandan or something like that they really sharp like did you
13:58
like they were wearing last night at the show yes speaking of what they were wearing last night they had this weird bow tide that when they would ride it
14:05
would go it did like it was flapping its wings is that a specific thing that they do or
14:11
is that just yeah that thing was crazy I remember I used to wear
14:17
one I used to wear one yeah in back in the day but we tied it differently around our neck there was a certain way
14:23
that girls tied ribbons around their necks yeah I got I really got behind the
14:28
whole I got in it I really was in I think that was the first time you were feeling your leather jacket and bow tie maybe that maybe that was it maybe
14:34
that's what like just fully immersed me into the whole horse world but for whatever reason I just felt like a Nate
14:42
could have been wearing his cowboy hat he could have been I could have been too I could
14:48
have next time next time so that's the thing so hopefully next year after so
14:54
that's what I was kind of talking about last night and no one really um heard me and then I felt sad so I brought up last
15:00
night that like this is so fun right like we like we come to these shows we hang out to I wasn't doing anything I
15:06
was trying to get the focus I was like Focus like we come to these shows like we went to nsba world
Future Show Trips
15:13
and like we haven't really gotten like I haven't been showing during these shows so we come to watch Denver or we come to
15:19
watch the sale or whatever but next year because we'll have NBA World Congress world show and then there's a few other
15:25
really big shows throughout the year like possibly red bud big a premier SES like the one in uh at Wet like the world
15:33
Equestrian Center in Florida like there's so many different things next year that hopefully can happen where
15:39
I'll be showing Denver in the pleasure and the halter and then Aaron will be showing him and it'll just be really fun
15:45
so I look forward to like us playing taboo and Mexican train and showing and
15:51
doing all the things like a lot next year and it's going to be really fun the fact that you're going to be doing it is
15:58
going to be enough for me I'm going be so hot yeah seeing you out there like I want to be out of that freaking chair last night I could hear them
16:05
both I could hear them both talking in the stands Yer be like dude like we should have been doing like a hype video
The Hype Video
16:10
like beforeand we're going to our going to be like no bro I'm
16:16
telling we're we're going to pay off the light guys and so when the last horse goes she'll be in there all the lights
16:21
go off the screen comes on the lights start whipping in a circle
Rebecca Wants To Show Again
16:30
okay I have a question for you no no cuz you haven't been other than the one time we took your daughter to a horse show
16:35
you haven't been to a horse show in a long time and you've never been to a lot of aqaa shows so we did watch the Eek on
16:42
the flat for a minute and we haven't been here when they've been jumping and stuff but I'm just saying oh yeah it gave me
16:49
the bug for sure it gave you the bug yeah it did cuz like I know I don't know
16:55
that I'm going to have one that's ready to jump soon but even watching the pleasure last night yeah like even yeah
17:01
cuz so for those I tuned in like I was like I KN this pleasure cuz we had this
17:06
we had this guilding name well she showed B too but we had this gilding named Hopscotch hoody I don't know which
17:12
one we ever went with it was both of them because his name was Hopscotch when we bought him but then he always escaped
17:18
his halter and would run down the road and so then we called him Houdini and then it got shorted short to hoodie um
17:25
and so she would show him in the pleasure as well because like like said she's a lot older than me and so she was
17:31
in the age group above me so she'd show the horses that I had zero leg to show
17:37
yeah like he had a lot of forward to him he wasn't he wasn't him and both B I
17:42
truly don't like I remember what like who he looked like I just don't remember ever riding him and stuff I know I did I
17:48
did the horsemanship on him too he was very tuned into move like I would say in horsemanship he excelled more than Bo
17:53
did even cuz Bo never failed he was older and a lot more experience but Bo just never failed to like he would get
17:59
into it's like he knew he was in the ring it was like he was always a little tur and then he want to be rotten like
Almost 500,000 Subscribers
18:05
just in the ring I uh I hate to interrupt but we're 50 subscribers away from half
18:11
a million 50 it was at 70 we're 50 away oh my gosh so okay let's take a minute
18:18
because this is a really cool thing and I feel like YouTube is so different than any other platform with growing a
18:26
channel and so almost exactly two years ago it was in November of two years ago
18:33
I met Matt we went hunting um it was kind of like a blind date in a weird way
18:39
like one of our buddies was just like hey I want you to meet this this guy that is really cool behind the camera
18:46
and edits really awesome and you know whatever like I know you've been wanting to do some stuff and so they kind of just put us in a deer stand together for
18:52
3 days and we just had no other choice but to talk and a month later we you know you make a lot of plans and then
18:59
never follow through but like we actually like the trip made it out of the group chat you know we we made it
19:04
happen and so a month later we started making plans and then by the time we
19:10
actually filmed Nate was already allegedly he doesn't believe
19:15
this Nate Nate's been there since the first video so I've basically known Nate
19:20
as long as you [Music] um um and so we filmed our first video
19:27
in January of last year of 23 and we didn't launch it until like
19:35
February 1st or something like that um so we're we're literally less than 2 years in and we're about to hit 500,000
19:42
subscribers which is absolutely insane I'm super proud I I you should be like
19:48
because you know Tik Tok and whatnot it's like it's very on the Fly videos I'm filming most of it or Abigail's
19:53
filming most of it or it's like you know just day-to-day stuff it's not a whole lot of fanciness that goes into it all
19:59
these videos I have nothing to do with these other than just doing Shenanigans they are the ones that cultivated this
20:06
channel so it's it's really cool I'm proud of all of us and everything we've done over the last two years nothing
20:11
could happen without a single person in this room like one person was like out go fall part probably could have done without me
20:18
but hey I would I wouldn't I wouldn't be who I am without you I'm just saying
20:25
majority of this is relying on Katie being who she is yeah but I'm just saying yeah no super proud of you guys
20:30
like I I don't even have a YouTube account I don't subscribe she does not subscribe I'm
20:36
sorry get behind it though I could help she think is cool
20:41
um but I do watch them like you don't have to be subscribe to watch it so what's funny is she'll send me pictures
20:47
at like 6:00 a.m. in the morning and be like why am I having to see your face right now cuz her daughter is wanting to
20:53
watch my videos and so she's like I can't get away from you yeah I just wake
20:59
up hey it's Katie I'm like PR is like I want to watch it
21:06
again Kinsley but no it's Presley and she has select one she's allowed to watch just because of like the recent
21:12
talk of Squirt I can't wait until after Christmas and then she's can have full access she can just binge you for
21:19
days there's been so much she's missed but hopefully it happens during this podcast yeah I hope you guys make it if
21:25
we get 500,000 I'm going to be like it's going to happen today yeah it' be my biggest accomplish so hey um we don't we
21:31
don't have to have it back this is a special
21:38
occasion it CU I'm not working is it because I'm not behind the camera you can put your legs that you're good no I
21:44
don't know if you're like guest this is actually a roast oh I can take it 1 2 three go we were
Katies 30th Birthday Roast
21:52
actually talking about this we'll get back on topic here in a second but a couple days ago I was like I think for my 30th birthday which is years away um
22:01
so far into the future I was like we should do a roast and then I sat there
22:06
and thought about it and I was like I think I'm going to like Michael Scot myself where I plan my own roast
22:12
everyone comes and roasts me and then I just like stumble out
22:20
crying you would you're even you're like the suspect challenge you were meaner to me
22:26
than I was to you I'm just so much content that the internet hasn't seen oh
22:32
I think Jonathan would unleash yeah I think he'd be brutal I think my husband would absolutely demolish me one day I'm
22:39
just going to do a a video like just a one minute video of photos of you that you sent me when we like the one from
22:45
the other day just a montage I send her some absolutely heinous photos sometimes
22:50
I have a repository of them just saving them no I'm just kidding most of time I don't even I don't even know where they're at I have some pretty awful ones
22:57
of YouTube to post them on my birthday just the last one usually it's usually good ones and then if you make it all
Back To Horses
23:03
the way to the end you get a treat but anyway back to um horses back to horses
23:10
so as nonh horsey people that are have
23:15
been kind of in the horsey realm over the last year what are some things I mean Nate's already kind of asked one of the questions but what are some things
23:21
that y'all saw yesterday that you like do is there anything you need clarification on or like that surprised you or
23:28
or I don't know I don't know I would like to hear y'all's thoughts as far as
23:35
clarification I think that it was it was pretty self-explanatory other than just
23:41
the repetition of knowing like okay this is what this means or whatever like this is the this is why this is wrong this is
23:48
why you can't do this um I thought it was like from an untrained eye I I
23:54
couldn't tell who had done better there was plenty of them that I was like you know oh dang and then everybody next was
24:00
like that wasn't that great or we were like they messed up big and you're like
24:05
where um I really like I very very truthfully I it kind of opened my eyes a
24:11
little bit in the sense of I didn't not necessarily cared about it before but it just wasn't a world that I have ever
24:17
stepped in and now like I I would very much like to go back I can do it again like going back today is something I'm
24:23
excited for which excites me because you know you think of barrel racing cutting
24:31
um speed events things like that are spectator sports people that aren't in it can have fun watching it and Western
24:39
Pleasure Trail western riding those things have never been that for outside people it's like the stands have the
24:46
people who are watching their daughter show or a trainer watching their client show and that's about it no one comes to
24:52
watch for that stuff and so I do think it's cool to hear that you found
24:58
entertainment in it which I I know I I know you probably wouldn't go without me but what I'm saying is like it it is I
25:03
don't know like I like it's in in this may be disrespectful and I'm not trying to be but it's kind of like the golf of
25:10
like horse Sports in the sense of like it's it's making it's a kind of cool now golf is like a really cool thing to do
25:16
these days it always has been but I feel like it's making a rush and like this is just like the the classier side of it so
25:24
you know it's not football like anybody can appre appreciate football but golf you know you can dress dress up and go there and you you know but it is a judge
25:31
sport which I mean you know raining and cutting and those things are as well but um I think it does get a little I'm just
25:37
noticing there's just eyelashes on the I I've watched them slowly travel with the wind across the table and then
25:44
eventually they went and it floated down like a feather and the thing is I'm going to put those on my eyes those are
25:50
the ones I will use today so anyway
25:55
Abel same question to you um I don't really think there was anything that I was confused about to be honest but okay
26:03
you've been immersed in it a little more over the last year you went to Congress I sit and explain to you all the time
26:09
like ask you who you think you know whatever did you feel accurate in like
26:15
knowing who did good and who did bad and then the outcome for the ones
26:23
that I was really paying attention to yes I was kind of fighting for my life
They All Took Laxatives…
26:28
during I'm so the first um eight of those so can we can we tell what y'all
26:36
did sure I don't care why
26:41
okay why would y'all choose at like noon it wasn't for fundies okay but like
26:49
wouldn't you rather be backed up than fighting for your life during the show okay I didn't think that it was going to
26:55
make me feel bad I don't I still don't think laxatives at like noon
27:02
yesterday I was they took them like 6 hours before
27:08
the event which is terrible timing to be fair I needed
27:14
to it was going to be an enjoyable situation regardless like it had like
27:19
action had to been taken and like anytime like you waited after noon was just going to be more detrimental I mean
27:25
I I couldn't go and I needed it so I bought them and I took one Matt was
27:30
having trouble I just I just wanted to be there for my
27:38
friends and so you know I had fomo and then at the peak of at the peak
27:46
of what you were like here to be doing you're like I got to tap out I got
27:52
though I didn't I I sat for all nine and then as soon as was done you tapped out
28:00
I headed I headed out and then I came back in pretty good timing I would say
28:07
and I was there for everything that was important I did not take a laxative by
28:13
choice well I didn't even know about it until later and then she's like I've never cramped so bad in my entire life
28:19
I'm fighting for my life right now and I'm like why and then I then I learned I don't think it was it though it said for
28:24
sensitive stomachs I got the sensitive stomach one cuz I was worried read so you think it was just me I think just
28:31
something else was going on okay well yeah maybe I did you have secondhand
28:37
nerves I did a little a little I will say I think we might have had but you as
28:42
well I think we all might have had more contact yesterday you crushed my hand a little we held hands for like 5 Seconds
28:48
no we we hands for like we held hands like 10 minutes throughout the entire yeah uh pattern and I felt bad cuz I was
28:56
like do you want to sit next to Jonathan but he wanted to sit on end cuz the seats were kind of tight so the whole time in my ear he was like was that bad
29:01
what just happened what's he doing I thought it looked great and I was like trying to like relay and then y'all were
29:08
holding hands across me so I was just like no cuz I held your hand and then you're like I have to film give me my hand back and so then I held your and
The Horses Were So Good
29:14
Jonathan's hands I will say I had way more confidence going into it than when
29:20
I watched them all when I started watching them all I was like oh shoot they all good like oh my gosh this is
29:25
such a steep pin especially in the halter cuz we had been working with Denver and the halter and like really
29:30
fitting him up and stuff like that and so we felt really confident and then when I saw everyone lined up I was like
29:36
oh my god there are so many nice horses in here it's crazy so it it was definitely a steep pin and you know
29:44
there is something special to be said about like a three-year-old being broke enough to do I say broke people don't
29:50
like that word it's like they're trained enough they are seasoned enough to go in there and do all that stuff and have the
29:56
stamina honestly you don't think that slow work takes stamina the amount of muscle they have to have to like hold
30:02
themselves like that for that long to do the brain power like to keep it together for the pattern then the rail class then
30:09
like and the video is fun because after the rail class they don't leave the
30:15
arena they all stay in there and they have a team come in with a wheelbarrow unsaddle they have five minutes to get
30:21
them cleaned up for the halter yeah literally was like the pit crew it was crazy and um and then they have to go
30:27
show Hal and then raddle and do the awards and so it was it was awesome it was definitely
30:34
a lot more entertaining than the other ones that we've watched but that could have also just been that we had someone
30:41
to root for and I was going to say cuz remember how exciting it was last year at the congress with Hank showing and we were we went and watched him like that
30:47
was you know we're sitting there I was I was very nervous at that show but it's like I didn't own Hank anymore at that
30:54
point either and so this one was and this one has the aspect of the fact that
31:00
you know Denver's a stallion Prospect he's not just a gilding or you know whatever like we want him have a long
31:06
show career but this was also like his maiden voyage to show people what he can do
31:12
so which I think he I think he represented himself really well you know um if you do go watch the video we're
31:19
going to do a whole video about the show um if you do go watch it so you'll notice in the pattern his first two lead
31:25
changes were not good um he changed back first and then on one he was a stride
31:31
late for his front change and then the second one he was two strides late and so he got some deductions on that um I
31:39
haven't looked at the scorecard but in that pattern everyone starts off with
31:46
zeros across the board every single maneuver is um like raided so everyone
31:53
starts with a zero on each then they can either get like a minus half if they did it incorrectly minus one or they can get
31:58
like a plus half if it was extra good or like a plus one if it was really really good and so um I think he did get some
32:05
pluses to kind of like help him out but um those those two lead changes really
32:11
really bumped him down um but the I mean absolutely the the top three that placed
32:18
in that pattern were Flawless like so stinking good the brown horse that won
32:24
that won jimy cricket was so perfect like perfect floaty easy on the ground
32:33
almost like just float just gliding absolutely amaz that was incredible to
32:39
watch yeah and we're back we had to take a coffee break nose blow break all those things we're getting four like by the
32:45
minute we're going to get 500,000 trying he has his computer up right now watching what is it what is it at 499
32:53
965 oh 966 dude we should go live dude you just I refreshed you refreshed I
33:00
refreshed 7 34 that's crazy that's what way to start
World Show Jacket
33:06
the day boys what a way to start the day so when you do um you know win at the
33:11
world show or you are reserved Champion which Denver ended up being you do get a
33:17
voucher for a world show jacket not just anyone can go buy a jacket and put world champion on it or Reserve world champion
33:23
you have to like have the voucher that says that you achieved it so that you can get it and you know
33:31
Aaron obviously if he wanted it I was going to be like yes you worked really really hard for that but he literally
33:37
came up he was like you need to go do this and so I get to go get the jacket tomorrow which is really cool and then
33:43
my parents are really nice cuz I bought a jacket yesterday um from Langston's here in town and they didn't take the
33:50
security thing off of it and so they were out and about this morning they went and did that for me so two jackets
33:55
I get today um okay we did some shopping as well are
We Went Shopping
34:02
you pulling the trigger on the bracelet no I bought the other stuff actually the bracelet was sold I
34:07
went back it was gone I know unfortunate interesting it's okay
34:14
Abigail what you I purchased a belt that's it you that's my loot for
34:19
this trip you didn't want to get them pants what pants the brown the stripe pants the $350 I didn't know they were
34:28
$50 yeah that's why I didn't buy them at Congress oh my gosh the ring I saw a
34:33
ring and it was most I'm not a jewelry girl but like it caught my eye she loves opal it's the biggest opal and it had
34:39
like it was all sparkly around it so I was like can I try this on SP diamonds well hang on I didn't know that and I
34:44
was like can I please try it on so she got it out and I went to go put it on my finger and then the price tag kind of flipped over and I handed it back cuz I
34:50
didn't want to hurt my own feelings and I said please just put it away and it was $10,000 she did the same thing to me she
34:57
handed me a so you know turquoise I love turquoise and I've been collecting it and turquoise like I kind of know the
35:03
price range but this place we shouldn't have gone there no it just HT our own feelings like because everything was paired with like and they might have
35:10
been itty bitty but it had like a little Diamond circlet around it or whatever so like these stud earrings I was like oh
35:15
my God those are beautiful I never see turquoise set with gold um and my wedding ring is gold like that's
35:21
beautiful they were like $6,000 like I love Jonathan didn't know the price and he was like babe just get
35:27
them he thought they were like a couple hundred I'm saying he thought they were a couple because turquoise is usually
35:33
like in the couple hundreds if it's like you know whatever and so he was like oh babe you deserve it get it and I was
35:38
like you don't you don't know what what he right now so when he found out he was like oh my gosh I thought they were like
35:46
a few hundred so we can't go there anymore um I got the girls those bell bottoms that yes they're very cute some
35:53
like Jean bell bottoms cuz Matt did some shopping yeah I did you should show your
35:58
jacket we should do like a little like new boot goofing skit but with the jacket in the other video we will for
36:05
sure he he did get boosts too he just absolutely dripped out on this and the bolo tie and like two shirts he fully
36:12
changed clothes in public he did he he came back a different
36:18
man he's going to get his jacket to show you um he got a new jacket he went he went and visited this
36:26
jacket multiple times he went and visited the jacket multiple times um it's very cool it's a very good
36:34
jacket we're likeing this nice spin he's in his club right one more spin I was
36:39
about to say show the ladies the D truck give us the walk give us the walk can you even see the walk
36:45
yeah you do slow motion [Music]
36:52
dang you know what I love I love that in Denver's Win Pick you're there with your jacket your bolo tie on like you were
36:59
just and the goofiest smile did you I was going to say I in case that was your
37:04
real smile I'm not going to make fun of you but did you mean to look absolutely hilarious in those photos look I think
37:10
the problem was yes we
37:18
were it was just it was it was how wide your eyes were I think you were like I
37:24
didn't even see the picture was he like that it's cuz we were laughing at the the broom guy yeah yeah we kept going uh
37:32
he's in the shot he's in the shot move you have to get out of here budy out bra but you're
37:38
like it was scary so I just had to kind of choose
37:44
the one that was best for everybody else yeah so after at the world show at the
37:49
Congress you know they always have this like backdrop setup for pictures and so I haven't done with the world show in
37:55
like over 10 years um I I think the last World show I went to was 2015 so 9 years
38:02
um and so yesterday right afterwards we went and got a huge group photo with like everyone from um the Aaron Moses
38:09
like barn and you know all of our crew and then we did one that was like just our crew too which was really cool um
38:15
and then today cuz they just were trying to be quick last night today they're going to take Denver over because they
38:20
do this like really cool shot with just a black backdrop and they put his Awards in front of him and it's just Denver
38:26
like no people and so since you know we're gonna be marketing him here soon like we needed some like Stud pictures
38:32
like some like dripped out him looking like a man photo you know so they're
38:38
going to do that today too um but yeah oh Nate I have not seen so Nate did get
38:46
uh he got a cowboy hat at the nsba world that was the last hores show he went to did you purchase anything at this trip I
38:52
did not nothing no I have not purchased a thing that's such good willpower it is
38:59
I didn't buy a thing we might there's time there's
39:04
still time there's time there's time there's was there anything was there anything that caught your eye um there
39:10
were a few shirts that I liked from Lon or from the show uh from the Langston
39:17
yeah um a few shirts couple vests I thought could be cool you're a vest guy I'm a vest guy yeah I for sure am um
39:25
might get that twist I for sure am yeah I love vests let's not let's not have any um there was no pants I didn't see
39:31
any pants that caught my eye and no no well actually the boots Matt got I was going to get those two or a similar kind
39:38
you can't match but we were standing he said we were standing there he said we can both get the same boots and I said
39:43
we can't go that hard and he laughed and said you're right you ruined it I would had a
39:50
problem whatsoever if we' have walked out the same outfit I wouldn't I wouldn't have either but I prefer I I
39:56
want to be in a similar vein but not the same yeah when you're showing next year
Crew Uniform/Merch
40:01
we need to have like a crew color well color and like you know how Aaron has
40:07
the logo yeah we need the like your logo or something jackets and yeah well we
40:13
just we just do the Running Springs or vest yeah we just we just need to get like some nicer jackets not just hoodies
40:20
like nicer jackets like an arot jacket or whatever and put the Running Springs logo on the back n or like vest vest hat
40:28
like obviously we have the hats and stuff so it's like at some point you're just all branded yeah it's like the
40:34
Yellowstone brand we all got to go out back and get it hey y'all if y'all want to just like give me a really cool
Tattoos
40:40
Christmas present you could all just go get the Running Springs logo tattooed oh my gosh that would actually be really cool what we don't but that's the thing
40:47
we wouldn't get them because we are are you ever interested in a tattoo my family wants us to all get a tattoo for
40:53
my dad who passed and I told them I would get one this big and it's a fine line and it'll be like somewhere nobody
41:00
will ever ever see it but it's kind I feel like Bo I feel like it's a thing now okay do you want your dad Tad to be on your butt well he'd probably be like
41:06
my ribs or something honestly wouldn't care if it was on my butt but he'd laugh
41:13
um Danny uh no so yeah I would do that but outside of that no I would not get a
41:19
tattoo yeah I like tattoos though I I'm not anti- tattoo by any mean not anti- tattoo either I'm anti needle I'm just
41:25
chicken I just couldn't think of anything i' ever want like I had nothing sentimental but I guess now I do tattoos are stupid is it that you feel KS is it
41:32
that you're scared of the pain or you scared of the commitment of having it on
41:38
you forever commitment for me yeah both for sure but like I'm not like I love y'all's tattoos and I like get super hyp
41:46
when you get new ones if it's the pain just take that out of the equation okay
41:54
up because you can do like numbing cream you can do other stuff and it it's
42:00
really not bad if I was to do a piercing that wasn't my ears it would be a little
Denver’s Incident
42:06
nose hoop but okay okay so what we need to we need to talk about um an incident
42:12
last night so after thank thank goodness it was after judging was complete okay
42:18
so the last part of the versatility challenge was um I'm just going to say
42:24
this because I already saw a Tik Tok about it okay so the last part of it was halter which is
42:30
where they don't have saddles on them they are just being judged by their confirmation they're all set up and the owners or the handlers like just holding
42:37
them and so Denver thankfully was after
42:43
um judging but he he either needed to pee or he got a whiff of something good
42:50
I don't know he let it all hang out he said judge me on this and
42:57
it I mean he showed what he had um and so we were we were sitting there and um
43:03
Sydney and Clara had come up and they had been the ones that were helping get them all cleaned up and so they they kept just doing this out to Aaron they
43:10
just kept putting their hand up I was like what are y'all doing and they're like that's the wiener signal that that means like it's coming
43:17
out and so uh they had left already to go um back down to help him raddle and I
43:23
look and I'm like oh God like he hadn't just like kind of dropped it no full dropped yeah full dropped full
43:36
attention excited out in the middle of everybody he was like front and center too he was
43:42
like middle um and so I already saw Tik toks about it I already saw people posting about it and the comments were hilarious
43:48
would they have actually like taken points from him if they had been judging and he had I don't know
43:55
how I've heard some people say that they've been and I don't know if it's aqaa specific or whatever I've heard
44:01
some people say like if a stallion specifically is like at
44:07
attention that they like DQ you I don't know I could be completely wrong I that
44:12
could be not how it works I've never had a halter horse and if I did it was like a mayor or a gilding so I don't know the
44:18
in the video on Tik Tok you could hear me in the back going Dam Wier uh yeah we're we probably need
44:25
to wrap up here in a second cuz we got to like clean the and go but um let me know in the comments if you want to
44:30
petition for Terry and Matt to be on the podcast maybe like as guests at home and
Outro
44:36
if you do like what questions you would want us to like cover while we do that um yeah so this was a lot of yapping
44:41
honestly uh I'm just so grateful about this whole week like that y'all were all here to share like this moment with me
44:47
honestly because it's it's such a dream come true and you know Denver was not
44:53
perfect by any means but he was also absolutely fantastic and I think he did
44:59
a really good job of showing just what an incredible animal he is and I'm super thankful to Aaron Moses and his whole
45:05
team for preparing him and having him look so amazing um and yeah I just can't
45:10
wait for the future so let me know what y'all would like to see in future catching up with Katie if you would like
45:17
for us to have an actual podcast hint hint that actually might just already becoming whether you like it or not with
45:23
guests and whatnot and stay tuned for the next one cuz these come out every Monday we're we're 15 subscribers away
45:28
from half a million 15 more and then we're at half a million stay tuned for that video cheers
45:34
