Speaker A

Again, you need both in life.

Speaker A

Speaker A

What's up, Champion?

Speaker A

This is your host, Neal Reyes, and.

Speaker C

I want to welcome you to the Executive Perspective.

Speaker C

For years I struggled to answer the question, what do you do for a living?

Speaker C

Why?

Speaker C

Because most people who ask only expect to hear one thing.

Speaker C

I'm an executive with a deep level of understanding of business, operations, leadership and technology.

Speaker C

I'm also the president and founder of a worldwide ministry and CEO of an executive coaching and consulting firm.

Speaker C

My number one passion is people and I receive significant gratitude in life from sowing into others and encouraging them as they grow to achieve their fullest potential.

Speaker C

If you're a high performance individual like me or you're simply ready to take your business, leadership or inner potential to the next level, then strap in.

Speaker C

Because.

Speaker C

Because I'm locked in and all in.

Speaker C

This is the Executive Perspective.

Speaker A

Hey, what's up, champions?

Speaker A

This is your host, Neal Reyes, and I want to welcome you back to the Executive Perspective.

Speaker A

Today we're going to be talking about a fire topic that I think is extremely important to all high performers.

Speaker A

And that's the difference between big dreams, big and big ideas.

Speaker A

Again, today, we're going to be talking about the difference between big Dreams and big ideas.

Speaker A

You know, this podcast focuses on three main areas.

Speaker A

I say this in every episode we do.

Speaker A

We focus on leadership, business strategy, and personal development.

Speaker A

And our topic today, just like all of our topics, cover every area of that touchdown on every area of that, but it also can be applied in every area of your life.

Speaker A

There's a difference between having big dreams and big ideas.

Speaker A

We're going to break that down.

Speaker A

And first of all, what I want to tell you is this is not a comparison.

Speaker A

That one's better than the other.

Speaker A

They are both very, very needed.

Speaker A

But I will also tell you, though, that there's right times or right seasons for both, and both will require different things of you.

Speaker A

But sometimes I see people who are living life out of balance.

Speaker A

I'll see people who have big dreams, but they're not connecting it with big ideas.

Speaker A

Or I have people who connect.

Speaker A

They have big ideas, but they stopped dreaming a long time ago, and they're just kind of living life through the motions.

Speaker A

They're all on what I call the treadmill of life.

Speaker A

We have other podcasts that we have dedicated specifically to the Treadmill of Life, but it's just where they're just running in place in the same time and they're not really gaining anything.

Speaker A

There's no fulfillment in that.

Speaker A

Today we're going to break down the difference of that between.

Speaker A

The difference between big dreams, big, big ideas.

Speaker A

The first thing I want to go into is big dreams define the destination.

Speaker A

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

Big dreams define the destination.

Speaker A

You know, back in the day before we had digital maps, like, whether it be, you know, Google Maps or Waze or Apple Maps or any other map things that are out there, you actually had to pull out a map if you were going to take a road trip, especially in the United States.

Speaker A

So you knew how to get from point A to point B.

Speaker A

In other words, whatever city you were wanting to travel to, you had to know exactly where that was.

Speaker A

And as you had these maps or an atlas even, you had to be able to track, you know, what highway am I going to travel on and what exit am I going to take to go?

Speaker A

Then connect with the next highway and head the next direction I need to go.

Speaker A

And nowadays you just plug in wherever your destination is and you hit go.

Speaker A

And it's just going to tell you step by step how to get there.

Speaker A

In fact, I will tell you, if you live in really big cities, like I live in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, it's a really big city.

Speaker A

And even When I lived in San Antonio, Texas, prior to that.

Speaker A

We've learned to use our maps, our map apps, our map apps, for years.

Speaker A

Because even though we knew where we were going, those map apps helped us to be able to read something the real maps wouldn't.

Speaker A

And that was traffic conditions.

Speaker A

And it would help us know which areas.

Speaker A

You know, there might have been a route we normally would take, but if that's real congested and a lot of traffic and it's going to take longer, then it might route me a different way, an alternate location way, so that I could get to the same location or destination but get there a whole lot quicker and a whole lot more efficiently.

Speaker A

Well, what I'm going to tell you is that dreams can be much like that in life.

Speaker A

Dreams help to define the destination.

Speaker A

Dreaming is important.

Speaker A

And what I'm going to encourage you is that everybody should dream.

Speaker A

And you shouldn't just dream little, but you should dream big.

Speaker A

And if you have something that has dropped on the inside of you in your heart, and it's living in your life and it even feels like this thing.

Speaker A

And when I say living, you know, things are living because they're growing.

Speaker A

And if you have this thing in your life and it feels like it's growing and getting bigger than you can contain, then that's what I refer to as a dream from God.

Speaker A

It's something that he's placed in there.

Speaker A

And if that dream scares you a little bit because you're not sure how you're going to do it, it's definitely from God.

Speaker A

If that dream seems bigger than what you're capable of doing, or if it's evident that it's going to require more resources than what you currently have to give, then that's definitely a dream from God.

Speaker A

And someone might say, well, why is God doing that?

Speaker A

Why is he.

Speaker A

That makes me so uncomfortable.

Speaker A

Why is he giving that?

Speaker A

Does he want to see me fail?

Speaker A

He doesn't want to see you fail.

Speaker A

But when God places his dreams inside of you, his dreams are so big, no one can understand the depth of them.

Speaker A

But if he's giving you a dream, he'll also meet you and give you the resources.

Speaker A

Whether that's the skills, or if it's the abilities, or if it's the resources and money or time that you need, or investors, he'll show you how to do it.

Speaker A

But you got to take actions and steps to make sure that you do that.

Speaker A

Those dreams are something that won't go away.

Speaker A

Those are things that at the end, when you have to stand before him, you're going to have to give an account of and you're either going to have to tell them about what you did with that dream or how you squandered it and didn't.

Speaker A

And if people are like, yeah, but I wanted to, but I never had all the right resources, then you doubted his ability to help you with that dream.

Speaker A

And, and you're going to have to give an account for your doubting.

Speaker A

But you don't want to be that person.

Speaker A

And if you're connecting here at the executive perspective, then we already know you're a high performer.

Speaker A

And I want to encourage and remind you that you got greatness on the inside of you and I believe in you, champion you have greatness on the inside of you.

Speaker A

You just have to cultivate it, grow it and develop it and bring it on the outside so others can see it as well.

Speaker A

So big dreams define the destination.

Speaker A

Dreams.

Speaker A

Dreams are about vision.

Speaker A

They fuel passion and they give direction.

Speaker A

I'm going to say it again.

Speaker A

Dreams are about vision, having vision to do something.

Speaker A

They fuel passion and they give direction.

Speaker A

That's why dreams are so important.

Speaker A

And for people who have stopped dreaming in life, you need to pick those dreams back up.

Speaker A

If you've been beat up, knocked around or knocked down, you need to get up, you need to dust yourself off and you need to keep on keeping on.

Speaker A

You need to get back on that dream.

Speaker A

Because that dream that you had inside of you, and while it's important to you, especially if it's a God given dream, there's someone waiting on the other side of your obedience for you to fulfill that thing.

Speaker A

Because they need to connect with whatever that thing is you're supposed to do.

Speaker A

Whether if it's the next great invention, if it's the next great product, if it's the next great movie or novel or writing or active work of literature, whatever it is, whether if it's content you're supposed to create, you know, maybe you're like, well, I just want to do makeup tutorials.

Speaker A

I'm sure there's a lot of people out there in life who would like to know how to put their makeup on better.

Speaker A

And you can help them with that, or you can help show them what the right brands are to use or the right things that you like using that you favor and why.

Speaker A

Because maybe they're better for your skin or whatever that is, or for you.

Speaker A

Maybe it's fitness, maybe you have a inside of you, you have a fitness channel designed inside of you.

Speaker A

Or maybe you Have a fitness gym or a fitness line.

Speaker A

You know, maybe you have a line of protein bars or meals or something like that, but you've got something living on the inside of you.

Speaker A

Well, that dream that you have, that dream.

Speaker A

Dreams are about vision.

Speaker A

But that dream that you have growing inside of you, that'll also help you feel your passion, and it'll also help to give you direct.

Speaker A

Why is that?

Speaker A

What do I mean by direction with the dream?

Speaker A

Well, have you envisioned building or making protein bars, for example?

Speaker A

Then you're probably not going to go out and try and open up a donut shop.

Speaker A

Those are kind of vastly different.

Speaker A

But if you know it's protein bars, well, now you have direction.

Speaker A

And now you get to start.

Speaker A

As you start seeking the Lord for direction, or you start taking the steps you need to, you begin to gain clarity.

Speaker A

Now here's our first leadership truth bomb of the day.

Speaker A

Your dream is the why that keeps you going when it gets hard.

Speaker D

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

Your dream is the why that keeps you going when it gets hard.

Speaker A

You know, I'm a firm believer in God.

Speaker A

That's evident on this show.

Speaker A

And if you're not a believer, that's totally okay.

Speaker A

But for me, I'm a firm believer in God, and I'm constantly listening for the voice of God within my life to help me with direction, instruction, and understanding of where I'm supposed to be going and what I'm supposed to be doing.

Speaker A

But, you know, in this world, there's a lot of competing voices that are out there as well.

Speaker A

It's what I refer to as noise.

Speaker A

But if you let the wrong voices in, that can steer you off course dramatically in a very fast time frame.

Speaker A

You know, in life today, and this is just the way it is.

Speaker A

But in life today, there are so many voices on life that are screaming at you.

Speaker A

Unfortunately, most people have developed the attention span where they're only listening to the loudest voice that's screaming.

Speaker A

And I'm going to tell you that while there's the voice of God that's available for you to hear, sometimes his voice is still, it's subtle, and it can be quiet at times.

Speaker A

But when you have the world screaming at you and if you listen to the wrong voice, you'll go down the wrong path and you'll do the wrong things.

Speaker A

Your dream is your why that keeps you going when it gets hard.

Speaker A

The reason why I talk about the voices and I talk about the dreams being your why.

Speaker A

This is why so many times in life, when you're supposed to do something.

Speaker A

And especially it's big when that thing takes a little while to show up.

Speaker A

There are other voices that show up as well.

Speaker A

And oftentimes they're the voice of discouragement, they're the voices of discontent, they're the voices of disbelief or, or self doubting.

Speaker A

And when those voices show up, sometimes they can be really loud and they can lead to feelings of hopelessness or like you're never going to amount to much.

Speaker A

Well, what I want to tell you is that when those voices get the loudest within your life, that's evidence that you're getting ready to experience your greatest breakthrough.

Speaker D

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

When those negative voices show up the loudest within life, that's evidence that you're getting ready to have your greatest breakthroughs.

Speaker A

Unless those voices are people who are around you who are just extremely negative and extremely toxic, then maybe you just need some new crew to hang around with.

Speaker A

But oftentimes those aren't the people who are talking to you like that.

Speaker A

Those are the voices you hear inside.

Speaker A

And you need to know how to overcome that.

Speaker A

And your dream, your dream can be your why.

Speaker A

And you have to hang on to your why so you know what your destination is.

Speaker A

Now, the next thing I want to talk to you about is big ideas create the roadmap.

Speaker A

So remember earlier we started off talking about that.

Speaker A

Our subject today, our topic today was the difference between big dreams and big ideas.

Speaker A

Well, big ideas help create the roadmap.

Speaker A

Ideas are the how.

Speaker A

So dreams are the why, but ideas are the how.

Speaker A

Ideas are the how.

Speaker A

They're the strategies and innovations that make the dream possible.

Speaker D

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

Ideas are the how.

Speaker A

They're the strategies and innovations that make the dream possible.

Speaker A

You know, if you're going to go out and do something and you want to accomplish something, you're going to have to know the how.

Speaker A

You know, if you look at things like YouTube, for example, some of the most prominent videos that are out there, and the videos with the most likes or the most views or the most clicks, those are the ones that are the how to videos, how to do whatever it is.

Speaker A

I mean, nowadays you can learn just about anything on YouTube because somebody has created a channel or a video out there.

Speaker A

Whether you need to go and work on your car, maybe you need to change your spark plugs, or you need to change your oil, and maybe you don't want to take it somewhere, you want to do it on your own.

Speaker A

There's a how to Video out there for your model.

Speaker A

I guarantee it.

Speaker A

You know the other thing too?

Speaker A

Oh, I have a guest in the studio today.

Speaker A

One of my dogs, Ollie is with us today.

Speaker A

So if you hear Ollie or see Ollie walking in the background, he's our special guest in the studio today.

Speaker A

That being said, though, you know, there are how to videos for everything.

Speaker A

If there's a special cake you want to make or if there's a special recipe you want to make, there's probably a how to video out there on YouTube that exists.

Speaker A

So again, dreams are the why.

Speaker A

But ideas, great ideas, they're the how.

Speaker A

Here's another leadership truth bomb for you today.

Speaker A

Dreams inspire.

Speaker A

Ideas cultivate.

Speaker A

Simple.

Speaker D

But I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

Dreams inspire, ideas cultivate.

Speaker A

That brings us to our third point of the day.

Speaker A

And our third point is action is the great equalizer.

Speaker A

Man, I could park and camp on this, just this today, all day to day.

Speaker A

Action is the equalizer.

Speaker A

Another way you could say it is Action is the great equalizer.

Speaker A

Man, it doesn't matter whether you have a dream or whether you have a great idea.

Speaker A

Action is the equalizer.

Speaker A

It is so significant and it's so important.

Speaker A

A dream without action, just a wish.

Speaker D

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

A dream without action, it's just a wish.

Speaker A

An idea without execution, that's just noise.

Speaker A

I'm going to say it again.

Speaker A

An idea without execution, that's just noise.

Speaker A

A dream without action is just a wish.

Speaker A

And an idea without execution is just noise.

Speaker A

I'm going to tell you that action is the great equalizer.

Speaker A

This is what separates the greats from the people who you don't know at all.

Speaker A

Man.

Speaker D

I'm going to say it again.

Speaker A

Action is what separates the greats from the people you don't know at all.

Speaker A

You know, if you go by a cemetery or you go by a graveyard and you walk through there cemeteries, man, they're places that are filled.

Speaker A

Those are the richest environments in all of earth.

Speaker A

But unfortunately, those are the environments that are rich with ideas, they're rich with inventions, they're rich with creativity, they're rich with ideas or books or movies or acts of literature.

Speaker A

Whether that's poetry or something.

Speaker A

There's amazing businesses that were in there.

Speaker A

There's amazing inventions that are out there, things that could change the world.

Speaker A

How about this?

Speaker A

There's cures that are in the graveyard.

Speaker A

What I mean by that, There are people who have died that they had inside of them.

Speaker A

The next great cure to cure some of the most significant illness that had been known throughout time.

Speaker A

But because they didn't take action, all those things followed them to the grave.

Speaker A

Whether if it's because they didn't believe in themselves or they didn't believe in the dream that God had given them, or they just didn't believe.

Speaker A

Maybe they knew that that thing that they had, that it was the next great thing, but they didn't believe they were the right person to do it.

Speaker A

They didn't think they were the right person to fulfill it.

Speaker A

Guys, I'm telling you, this is so significant right here.

Speaker A

Action is the great equalizer.

Speaker A

Now, the fourth thing that that brings us to today is knowing which one you need right now is the key.

Speaker D

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

You know, at the beginning, we talked about that.

Speaker A

Our topic today is the difference between big ideas and big dreams, or big dreams and big ideas, however you want to say it.

Speaker A

And I also said that both are very, very important.

Speaker A

Both are very, very needed.

Speaker A

But knowing which one you need right now is the key, because you need both in life.

Speaker A

You don't want to live through life with a bunch of big dreams, but you don't have big ideas to back it.

Speaker A

And you don't want to have a bunch of big ideas, but you have no dream.

Speaker A

You need to have dreams, and you need to have idea.

Speaker A

Sometimes you need to reignite your dreams.

Speaker D

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

Sometimes you need to reignite your dreams.

Speaker A

Sometimes your dreams, they may feel like they're gone or they're faded, but you just need to breathe some life back into them.

Speaker A

You know, if you've ever started a campfire or if you've ever had a fireplace and you've lit a fire, what happens after a while is if you're not stoking the fire or you're not putting new wood on.

Speaker A

You know, when you put wood on, sometimes the fire looks like it's burning down, but you just got to stoke it a little bit.

Speaker A

You got to poke it with the poker, and as you do, and it breaks up some of the wood or some of the embers, the fire comes back out, the flame, and the fire gets big again.

Speaker A

But if you let that thing just simmer and stay there too long, it'll just start to die out.

Speaker A

But sometimes you got to breathe new life in it.

Speaker A

What do I mean by that?

Speaker A

Well, if you have a fire, sometimes you can throw a new log on, but the new log doesn't start burning.

Speaker A

So you got to breathe some life into it.

Speaker A

You got to get the poker and you got to poke it and move some of those embers around to get some heat going.

Speaker A

But then the way you fuel it is literally by blowing in it.

Speaker A

You blow in it a little bit.

Speaker A

Not like you're trying to blow out a candle, but good luck, it's a fire.

Speaker A

But as you blow into it, it causes that thing to give life to it.

Speaker A

It grows.

Speaker A

And as that flame sparks and takes off, now you have a fire again.

Speaker A

Because the new woods burning, that new logs burning, and you've stoked that thing back up.

Speaker A

Well, dreams are much the same way.

Speaker A

You have to be able to treat your dreams the same.

Speaker A

You got to keep your dreams alive.

Speaker A

But at the same time, if you have a dream that has faded or feels like it's gone, you need to reignite the dream.

Speaker A

And you need to remember why There was a why.

Speaker A

Your dreams help to connect with your why.

Speaker A

They keep your why alive.

Speaker A

But you have to remember why you wanted that dream.

Speaker A

Why is that important?

Speaker A

And what I will tell you is at different times through life or different seasons, what was real important to you at one point may not be real important to you again.

Speaker A

But your dreams are things you don't let go of.

Speaker A

The dreams are things that you fight for.

Speaker A

You got to fight to reignite them and keep them alive.

Speaker A

Now, sometimes you need to stop dreaming and you got to start building.

Speaker D

I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

Sometimes you got to stop dreaming and you got to start building.

Speaker A

You know, so many times you have people who, they are big at dreaming and they're active dreamers.

Speaker A

They have a bunch of dreams written down, but they're dreamers and they're not taking any action.

Speaker A

So they're just a dreamer.

Speaker A

You don't want to be known as a dreamer in life.

Speaker A

There's nothing wrong with being a dreamer.

Speaker A

But a dreamer without action, that's just a dreamer.

Speaker A

You got to.

Speaker A

Sometimes you need to stop dreaming and start building.

Speaker A

And here's a better way of saying it, because I don't want to tell people, stop dreaming, but here's what I mean by that.

Speaker A

Sometimes you have to not stop dreaming, but you got to transform the dream into reality.

Speaker A

And the connector, the bridge for that is you got to start building.

Speaker A

You got to take some action and you got to start building.

Speaker A

There are times in life where you need to shift from just dreaming to doing, from dreaming to building, so that you can bring that dream to life.

Speaker A

And here's our final leadership truth bomb of the day.

Speaker A

Vision without strategy drifts.

Speaker A

Strategy without vision dies.

Speaker A

Whoo I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

Vision without strategy can drift, but strategy without vision, that can die.

Speaker A

Man, that's a big one right there, guys.

Speaker A

If there's something on the inside of you that you have longed to see fulfilled, if there's a dream that you have in you, and remember, like I said earlier, it may feel too big for you, it may feel like it's too big for you, or you don't know how to do it, or you don't even have the resources or time to do it.

Speaker A

That's what I refer to as a God dream.

Speaker A

And if this is just something that's a great idea and you thought about that, man, this is amazing.

Speaker A

But then it turns around and fades and goes elsewhere and you never think of it again, then that's an idea.

Speaker A

But that's not a dream.

Speaker A

But if it's something that's deep down on the inside of you, and it seems like this thing just won't let go of you, and it even feels like it's bursting you at the seams, like you're gonna burst at the seams if you don't give life to this thing that's a living dream that's inside of you, and those are the ones that you have to stay on.

Speaker A

Those are the ones that you got to keep lit and you got to combine with action so that you can start building that thing.

Speaker A

And even if you got to start small, that's okay, but you got to start somewhere.

Speaker A

But here's the kicker.

Speaker A

If you never start, you'll never finish.

Speaker A

Oh, I'm going to say that again.

Speaker A

If you never start, you can never finish.

Speaker A

You have to keep those things alive, and you have to fight for those things, because those are your dreams.

Speaker A

They're not someone else's dream.

Speaker A

Those are your dreams.

Speaker A

And if you share your dreams with someone else and they don't know how to receive them, or they kind of step on them and stomp on them and put them out and try to put them down, that's just because their faith inside wasn't big enough to contain that dream that you have.

Speaker A

Remember, I tell you all the time, champion, that I believe in you, and I believe you have greatness on the inside of you.

Speaker A

You just have to continue to cultivate it, build it and develop it, grow it and develop it, and then bring it on the other outside so others can see it as well, and then go smash whatever that thing is you're supposed to do.

Speaker A

When you share your dreams with others and they don't know how to handle it, and they abuse it or mistreat it or don't value it.

Speaker A

It's just because it's not connecting with the greatness that's inside of them.

Speaker A

It's connecting with the greatness that's inside of you.

Speaker A

But when you build that thing and bring it to life and that thing takes off, and on this podcast, we focus on one direction here at the executive perspective, and that's forward and upward.

Speaker A

When that thing takes off forward and upwards, those people who you tried sharing your dream with, they may not be even your ideal customer or your ideal avatar or your ideal client or demographic.

Speaker A

But that doesn't mean there's not someone out there who's waiting for that thing that you're about to create.

Speaker A

Whatever that dream is you have inside of you.

Speaker A

Don't stop, don't quit.

Speaker A

Don't let age or something like that be a limitator or a factor that limits you from doing what you're supposed to do.

Speaker A

You need to keep on keeping on and develop that greatness that lives inside of you Guys, I want to thank you for taking time to stop by and grow with us today.

Speaker A

My heart and life, the thing that means the most to me in life, people are my passion.

Speaker A

I want to help people.

Speaker A

And when I create these podcasts, I believe I'm putting great material in there, but I want to get it in the hands of others.

Speaker A

I don't want to get, I want to give.

Speaker A
