Speaker:

Speaker:

Speaker:

Hello there, Modern Man. I'm Dr Anne Truong. I'm a sexual

Speaker:

medicine specialist. I've treated over 7000 men with ED.

Speaker:

In today's episode, we're going to talk about why diabetes is a

Speaker:

major risk factor for ED. Stay tuned to the end, we're going to

Speaker:

dive into why that is and if you're a man that has diabetes,

Speaker:

you need to listen to this episode.

Speaker:

So diabetes is a significant risk factor for ED due to its

Speaker:

systemic effect on the body. The relationship between diabetes

Speaker:

and ED involves multiple mechanisms. Let's dive into it.

Speaker:

Number one, there is vascular damage. High blood sugar level,

Speaker:

that's what diabetes is, that your blood sugar level is high

Speaker:

when you're fasting, but high blood sugar itself damages small

Speaker:

blood vessel a condition called microvascular disease, and this

Speaker:

impairment causes the penile artery to have decreased blood

Speaker:

flow, which means that iy is impairing the ability for the

Speaker:

penis to have an erection. So it causes microvascular disease,

Speaker:

and therefore less blood flow. Additionally, you're kind of in

Speaker:

a bad situation if you have high cholesterol and high

Speaker:

triglyceride, which are two bad cholesterol, which are commonly

Speaker:

occur if you have diabetes. There's three things that occur

Speaker:

usually together, diabetes, high blood pressure and high

Speaker:

cholesterol, and they usually occur because of diet as well as

Speaker:

lack of exercise. So to summarize, diabetes causes ED

Speaker:

number one is vascular damage.

Speaker:

Number two is nerve damage. Diabetes often lead to

Speaker:

neuropathy or nerve damage and this saffect the nerve that is

Speaker:

in the arms and in the leg, and normally affect feet and the

Speaker:

hands first. Nerve is essential for sexual stimulation and

Speaker:

erection, and the damage to the nerve can disrupt communication

Speaker:

from the brain to the penis, making it difficult to achieve

Speaker:

an erection.

Speaker:

Number three, endothelial dysfunction. Diabetes have

Speaker:

impairment of the endothelium, which is the lining inside the

Speaker:

blood vessel. Imagine the blood vessel like a pipe, and the

Speaker:

endothelium is a thin lining, one cell layer lining that is

Speaker:

inside the blood vessel, and the blood vessel is held together

Speaker:

because of the endothelium, and the high blood sugar reduce the

Speaker:

ability of the endothelium to relax, and when it cannot relax,

Speaker:

it cannot allow more blood flow to the penis. So that's why this

Speaker:

contributes to poor blood flow to the penis.

Speaker:

Number four, hormonal imbalances. Men with diabetes

Speaker:

experience lower testosterone level, a condition called

Speaker:

hypogonadism, which can reduce libido and increase or

Speaker:

exacerbate ED, testosterone deficiency, particularly

Speaker:

prevalent in men with type two diabetes. So it's interesting

Speaker:

that men with type two diabetes tend to have more incidence of

Speaker:

ED than men that have type one diabetes.

Speaker:

Now number five, oxidative stress and inflammation. Chronic

Speaker:

high blood sugar level leads to increased oxidative stress and

Speaker:

inflammation. Imagine oxidative stress like a free radical, it

Speaker:

damages tissue. Inflammation, imagine it as fire in your body.

Speaker:

It's just fire. You're not supposed to have fire in your

Speaker:

body. You're not supposed to have more imbalances. Imagine

Speaker:

that. That's what inflammation is, which then when that happen

Speaker:

when you have oxidative stress, inflammation, it damages the

Speaker:

vascular or the blood vessel and the nerve tissue, and that lead

Speaker:

to actually less nitric oxide production, which is critical

Speaker:

for the blood vessel to open, and it actually leads to

Speaker:

increased incidence of prothrombotic factors, or

Speaker:

increased incidence of blood clotting, which then worsen

Speaker:

blood flow issue as well. So, you don't want oxidative stress

Speaker:

and inflammation. But in diabetes, you tend to have this.

Speaker:

Okay, Modern Man, you are not alone and you don't have to

Speaker:

suffer anymore. ED can feel isolating, frustrating, and even

Speaker:

defeating. The endless guessing, the quiet shame, the weight of

Speaker:

not feeling like yourself is exhausting. But here's the

Speaker:

truth, you are not broken. You are not alone. You don't have to

Speaker:

figure this out alone anymore. The Get Wood Now Boost Program

Speaker:

is your step by step, path to sexual confidence and

Speaker:

restoration. No more suffering in silence, no more trial and

Speaker:

error, just real solution, real result and the confidence you

Speaker:

deserve. It's time to take back your power on your term. Let's

Speaker:

get this journey started together. Check out the course

Speaker:

at getwoodnow.com. I'll see you there.

Speaker:

Number six, psychological factors. Diabetes is often

Speaker:

associated with stress, depression and anxiety, which

Speaker:

then contribute to ED, affecting mood and sexual desire. And it

Speaker:

compound that the psychological component with the physical

Speaker:

component, it makes it a pretty unpleasant situation for men

Speaker:

with diabetes. So diabetes cause the vascular damage, the nerve

Speaker:

damage, the hormonal imbalances and the oxidative stress, and

Speaker:

then, along with the psychological factors as well,

Speaker:

make ED more prevalent in men with diabetes, especially those

Speaker:

who poorly controlled blood sugar level. Poorly control,

Speaker:

meaning, if your hemoglobin A1C is eight or more, I see men who

Speaker:

are in 10 or more, and the longer you have diabetes, the

Speaker:

worse the condition.

Speaker:

So managing your diabetes through medication and diet,

Speaker:

such as the Mediterranean diet and exercise, can really improve

Speaker:

your erection and reduce the risk of ED. So don't forget,

Speaker:

diet exercise, but also use the penis pump. It can bring in

Speaker:

blood flow to the penis as well as oxygen to the penis, and it

Speaker:

helps with preventing atrophy. In fact, studies have shown that

Speaker:

men with diabetes using the penis pump can be very

Speaker:

effective, at least up to 70% effectiveness. Now another thing

Speaker:

to consider is that a man with diabetes is 3.5 times more

Speaker:

likely to develop ED than a non-diabetic man. And type two

Speaker:

diabetes is a condition that you acquire as an adult and type one

Speaker:

diabetes is when you're born not having the ability to release

Speaker:

insulin from the pancreas. And interestingly, men with type one

Speaker:

diabetes have about a 38% chance of getting ED, while men with

Speaker:

type two diabetes experience 67% chance of getting ED. So if

Speaker:

you're diabetic, and most of us are type two diabetic, know that

Speaker:

you have 62% chance of getting ED. Now, if you work on your

Speaker:

diet, mainly following the Mediterranean diet, and just

Speaker:

incorporate walking into your routine, you will actually

Speaker:

decrease your blood sugar level, decrease your hemoglobin A1C and

Speaker:

probably be able to get rid of your medication, and that would

Speaker:

positively impact upon your bedroom performance. I've seen

Speaker:

many of my patients who are type two diabetic, started the

Speaker:

Mediterranean diet, started walking on a regular basis. I

Speaker:

have seen their hemoglobin A1C go from eight to seven to 5.6

Speaker:

and then they eventually get off of their diabetic medication

Speaker:

along with their cholesterol medication, even their high

Speaker:

blood pressure medication as well. So win, win, win, and all

Speaker:

it does is just really following the Mediterranean diet and

Speaker:

exercise routine and being consistent with that. So

Speaker:

managing your blood sugar not only help with your diabetes,

Speaker:

but will help with your heart health and your ability to have

Speaker:

your better improved bedroom performance and also longevity

Speaker:

as well too, because it help you live longer with less

Speaker:

psychological dysfunction such as depression and anxiety. Win,

Speaker:

win, win all the way. And honestly, the Mediterranean diet

Speaker:

is pretty easy to follow. Check out the Mediterranean diet guide

Speaker:

here for you for free. Check it in the description in the banner

Speaker:

you see here as well.

Speaker:

And so just know that there are alternative to ED. You do not

Speaker:

have to suffer in silence. If you're a man with diabetes, just

Speaker:

know that you can control your diabetes. You can even get off

Speaker:

of your diabetic medication if you just follow the

Speaker:

Mediterranean diet and exercise. I know it's hard. I know that we

Speaker:

live busy life. But if you make it a priority, and you be

Speaker:

consistent with it, you will see an improvement. We have seen men

Speaker:

improve their erection within like about months or six weeks

Speaker:

of changing their diet and incorporating exercise into

Speaker:

their daily life. So you don't have to suffer silence. There

Speaker:

are alternatives. That's why I created the Get Wood Now Boost

Speaker:
