Hello, human collective.
Speaker AWelcome to the Upside to Grief.
Speaker AMy name is Story, and I am your host.
Speaker BAnd my name is Erica, and I'm your co host.
Speaker AAnd this week, we are back with Sheri again to do a segment, and she has chosen to do Moments of knowing.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo you want to tell us a little bit about what moments of knowing are?
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AMoments of Knowing, for those of you who haven't seen the ones prior, are those times where we can feel our person's energy present, where it's like, that's what it has to be.
Speaker AThere's no way to explain it.
Speaker AThere's not.
Speaker BLike, it's almost unexplainable, but, like, you know.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BWe've definitely experienced that.
Speaker BAnd then we had Roseanne on the Upside to Grief, and that was the segment that she chose.
Speaker BAnd there were some really powerful moments.
Speaker BSo, yeah, we're excited to hear about Sherry's experiences with that.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo you want to tell us about a couple.
Speaker BOr maybe it can be one huge one.
Speaker BIt can be a couple ones.
Speaker BWhatever you want.
Speaker COkay, so let me try to think.
Speaker CI want to think of some good ones for you.
Speaker CSo I would say the first.
Speaker CThe first moment I knew my dad was, like, present, and there was no other explanation.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CWas actually the night he died.
Speaker CSo we'll go into the details later.
Speaker CRight?
Speaker AYes.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CSo he passes away.
Speaker CI'm there.
Speaker CAnd I knew, like, as I'm walking up to the situation, I knew that my life was about to change forever.
Speaker CThere's, like, this wash that came over me of almost an empowerment that I can't explain in words, but I knew it was my dad.
Speaker CLike, there's no other way I could have not just died in that moment, but I felt this rush of energy of, oh, shit, okay, this is my life now.
Speaker CIt's like the line was crossed, and I was moving into a completely different realm.
Speaker CAnd it was powerful.
Speaker CI mean, traumatic, of course, but, yeah, that's probably the main first one that I felt.
Speaker AThat's pretty powerful, too.
Speaker ALike, especially right away on that day.
Speaker ALike, that's intense.
Speaker CIt was super intense.
Speaker CAnd it actually was as I was in my car still, like, as I was driving up and I saw him, it started happening.
Speaker CIt was otherworldly.
Speaker CAnd, yeah, it.
Speaker CI mean, moments after moments afterwards, you know, in the days following his passing, dealing with family members, you know, questions that they would ask, or being present for other people's grief in a way that I could just sit and hold space for them, which is like, I Just can't believe I was able to do that.
Speaker CThat also was my dad.
Speaker CSo more he comes through in moments, more of an empowerment.
Speaker CIt's like an empowerment feeling.
Speaker CI can just feel him when he's swooping in and carrying me right to the next spot.
Speaker CLike, here we go, you're doing this.
Speaker CAnd here we go.
Speaker CIt's like that.
Speaker BGiving you his courage.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI love that so much.
Speaker BI feel like I get those moments, too, like, where I. I don't know, especially a lot lately where I just feel like my dad's energy.
Speaker BLike, I don't see those signs or anything, but I feel like his energy pushing me towards the answer a little further step on a path, and it's been.
Speaker BIt's been pretty cool.
Speaker BBut I've heard you share about some of the.
Speaker BThose moments of knowing, like, that energy feeling like.
Speaker CLike, you.
Speaker BI feel like that's, like his essence.
Speaker BLike, not like a clear, like, sign from him, like, you know, I don't know, feathers or whatever.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BBut like, you just feel him, right?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AIt's like a different type of moment of knowing.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ABut it's very much like, in that.
Speaker BIn that realm.
Speaker AIn that realm.
Speaker AAnd it.
Speaker AIt reminds me of, like, kind of how I shared in chapter one where I was like.
Speaker AIt was like he was inside of me.
Speaker CAnd I'm like, literally, how to explain it?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd I was, like, talking to my mom on the phone about it, and I'm like, I don't know how else to tell you this, but this is.
Speaker AHe was inside of me.
Speaker AAnd she was like, I understand what you're saying.
Speaker AAnd I was like, okay, great.
Speaker ABut, yeah, that's.
Speaker AHow else do you explain it?
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CAnd it's not something.
Speaker CI mean, there's fears I walk through now that there's no way.
Speaker CI.
Speaker CIt's just not me.
Speaker CI mean, maybe it is now, but you're like, it's.
Speaker AIt's not just me, right?
Speaker AThere's no way.
Speaker CNo.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd it goes deeper than.
Speaker BIt goes deeper than the fact that you know your dad's daughter and you have, like, all these amazing, like, fiery tenacity.
Speaker BTenacity driven spirit.
Speaker BAnyways, it's, like, more than that.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker CSo there was another time I was actually doing breath work one night, and I felt his DNA for the first time, like, truly realizing that I'm my, Like, literally, his.
Speaker CHis daughter.
Speaker CLike, I know that sounds weird.
Speaker ANo, no, no.
Speaker AI totally understand what you're saying, though.
Speaker CI am his DNA.
Speaker CAnd it was so beautiful because I Realized I'm with him, he's with me 100 of the time.
Speaker CSo that realization was a knowing that he's always with me.
Speaker CIt sucks when they're not in the physical.
Speaker CIt really does.
Speaker CBut there's.
Speaker CYou come into this space of understanding about death and their role in your life.
Speaker CThat's like, I know both of you understand what I'm saying.
Speaker CIt's like nothing can touch it on this realm.
Speaker CIt's something you have to experience when they transition.
Speaker CIt's very powerful.
Speaker CI love that.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CIt's like.
Speaker BYou know what's cool about that part is because I can't remember who told it to you, but somebody said that to you, that you're like, you have your dad's DNA.
Speaker BAnd I remember them vocalizing.
Speaker BThat was one of those moments of knowing where it kind of just like, you know, when we hear something over and over, but then we hear it that one time, and it sinks in.
Speaker BThat was a moment for you.
Speaker BAnd then a further.
Speaker BIt further, like, ingrained in you when you were doing that breath work.
Speaker BLike, that's really crazy that it had, like a.
Speaker BIt had multiple steps or multiple phases of knowing.
Speaker CI know.
Speaker BBecause you.
Speaker CIf you don't understand something until it, like, really trickles down.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CSometimes it takes a moment.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BOoh, sorry.
Speaker BJust process.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CIt, like, starts up here, and then it just, like triggers.
Speaker CTrickles down.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CLayers.
Speaker CAnd then it becomes you, and you're like, oh, okay.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BIt's like, filtering down through other moments of knowing.
Speaker BJust a cascading effect.
Speaker CCool.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker BDo you have any moments of knowing that are, like, where you've seen your dad's face or other moments that are kind of like, random, that are like one off moments?
Speaker CLet me think.
Speaker CI would say.
Speaker CI would say when.
Speaker CWhen I'm having a hard time with a person, my dad's face, like, I can.
Speaker CYou know, I have my dad's picture everywhere in my house.
Speaker CHis.
Speaker CHis essence and his, like, his face and his energy.
Speaker CIt shows up right when I need it.
Speaker CAnd so it's random moments.
Speaker CBut it's like when I'm having a hard time with my daughter or when I'm having a hard time with a family member, or when I am feeling unsafe, he shows up.
Speaker CSo it's like.
Speaker CAnd it makes me cry because then I miss my dad.
Speaker CYou know, I, like, lose my shit.
Speaker CAnd that's all I want when I'm feeling that way.
Speaker CBut it's neat that that's when he shows up.
Speaker CFor me, it's like, you know, that's a moment of knowing that he's.
Speaker CHe's just right there, right on time.
Speaker CIt's like, what would my dad do?
Speaker CI know that sounds cheesy.
Speaker BWhat would Alex.
Speaker ABut, like, really.
Speaker CBut really, that's what it is.
Speaker CLike, if I'm going through something, I'm.
Speaker CI'm just take a moment to think, like, what would he want me doing in this moment?
Speaker CYou know?
Speaker CAnd then there's the dad on this side, and then there's the dad in the spirit world.
Speaker BI was just about to ask you about that.
Speaker BSo is this.
Speaker BThis is cool.
Speaker CIt's a big deal for me realizing, like, if somebody asks me, hey, how would your dad feel about that?
Speaker CBecause people.
Speaker CI've had some pretty controversial life choices.
Speaker CYou know, I've done some things that people question, which I.
Speaker CThat's cool.
Speaker CThey can question it.
Speaker CBut I've had people actually ask me, like, what would your dad think?
Speaker CAnd I say, well, in this realm, he would.
Speaker CHe would think one thing, and on the other side, he thinks something else.
Speaker CLike, I really feel that's a moment of knowing.
Speaker CLike, knowing if he was alive in the physical, he would be saying very specific thing to me.
Speaker CBut in the spirit world, where there's no attachments, no fear, no worry, it's something much more empowering.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CSomething much more clear.
Speaker CThere's no fog around it.
Speaker CIt's not like he's worried about me.
Speaker CYou know, don't do that, because you're going to hurt yourself.
Speaker CYou're going to be in pain.
Speaker CIt's, like, so different.
Speaker CSo that's, like, a cool thing to think about.
Speaker CIn moments when I have a question about a question, you know, a decision I'm making, knowing what he would say.
Speaker CThis side and that side.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI remember you telling me that before my dad died and, you know, being like, oh, wow, that's.
Speaker BThat makes perfect sense, but not fully, like, understanding the gravity of that.
Speaker BAnd then when my dad died, I knew exactly what you meant, because I.
Speaker BAnd just as an example, like, if I'm going through something hard, I can think of, you know, what my dad would say in the physical.
Speaker BMore sassy, more his personality.
Speaker BOr maybe a little bit more gruff or rough around the edges.
Speaker BAnd then I feel his answer and his energy or those moments of knowing come up in such different ways.
Speaker BLike, it comes from a place of pure love.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker BNo judgment, no attachment.
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker BAs you said.
Speaker BAnd I think that that's so interesting because it's both.
Speaker BClearly him.
Speaker BYeah, very clearly him and Both can be true.
Speaker BAnd I feel like that's just amazing.
Speaker BLike, what I believe is, like, that's how the soul works.
Speaker BLike, we just were multifaceted even after we leave our physical.
Speaker BSo, yeah, it's really amazing.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd, you know, I can't say that I've made decisions based on what he would say in this realm, like, at all.
Speaker CI usually go with the other.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CI don't know.
Speaker CI'm just not afraid of things that much anymore.
Speaker CThat's the other thing is that fear.
Speaker CNot the fear of, like, my.
Speaker CLike, taking care of my safety and the people around me, you know, that kind of normal fear.
Speaker CBut I know that I can walk through anything.
Speaker CLike, any hard.
Speaker CYou know, like, things that would have kept me so in fear that I wouldn't have done it.
Speaker CThat is completely not.
Speaker CThe fear's not gone, but that holding back is gone.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CThat.
Speaker CThat part's removed from me.
Speaker CAnd that happened pretty quick after he passed away.
Speaker CI don't know if it's because of the traumatic scene and, like, what I walked through that removed a part of that fear for me, but I am grateful for it now.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CNot much scares me as far as trying new.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CIt's like, oh, yeah, I'm afraid.
Speaker CGood.
Speaker CLet's do this.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker BLet's do it.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AFear is the guide.
Speaker CYeah, I know, right?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BBest teacher.
Speaker AOh, really, though.
Speaker CThat's why I am, like.
Speaker CThat's why I tell people fear is literally what that is.
Speaker CWhat you're.
Speaker CYou're.
Speaker CYou're pointing in the direction of where you're supposed to go.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CThat's the growth right there on the other side.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BIt's not supposed to be a deterrent.
Speaker BIt's supposed to be that screaming sign that says, come this way.
Speaker BLike.
Speaker BYeah, I love that.
Speaker AI'm very much about that.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CAnd I know that's a definite moment of knowing that.
Speaker CMy dad has instilled that in me.
Speaker CThat for sure.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThen you have that always.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CSo.
Speaker ASo kind of fun fact about moments of knowing where the whole, like, knowing came from was actually when I came to your house one time, I think it was for a sound bath, actually.
Speaker AAnd I was explaining.
Speaker AI think I was telling you about what had happened in San Francisco when I went on my trip.
Speaker AI think that's what I was telling about talking to you about, and I was trying to explain what was happening, and I was like, I don't know.
Speaker AIt's like.
Speaker ALike, I just knew, like, knowing, and you were like, yeah, knowing.
Speaker AKnowing.
Speaker AAnd, like, that's where that kind of stemmed from.
Speaker AAnd then you told me that I should do a journal of knowing.
Speaker AThat's what you said to me.
Speaker AYou're like, you should do a journal of knowing.
Speaker AAnd I was like, oh, you're probably right.
Speaker AYeah, I should.
Speaker ABut, like, the whole, like, knowing and then, like, explaining, like, what these moments are and then coming up with this as one of the segments as moments of knowing, like, strung from that conversation with you, actually.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CI remember you telling me you were walking through the forest.
Speaker CThe rain.
Speaker CIs this what we're talking about?
Speaker AYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker AAnd then the other girl did not get rained on.
Speaker CSo that, like, weird, that feeling.
Speaker COkay, so I try to, like.
Speaker CI try to describe deja vu, right?
Speaker CThe.
Speaker CThe.
Speaker CThe feeling of deja vu.
Speaker CIt's kind of like that, like, I just feel like you're, like, in perfect alignment in those moments when you feel that you know something that you can't explain.
Speaker CIt's like, bam.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BThere's no resistance.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker BFeels like we enter some kind of weird, liminal space, like, where.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BThere's nothing pushing back, and we just know.
Speaker AYeah, you just know.
Speaker CAnd you're just like, I know something.
Speaker BI know.
Speaker BI know something.
Speaker BYou don't know.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BWow.
Speaker CThat's cool.
Speaker CThank you for sharing that.
Speaker CDo you still keep the journal?
Speaker AI make videos, actually.
Speaker BOh, good.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BThat's her version of journal.
Speaker AYeah, that is my version of journals.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AI have a compilation of videos that I keep in a little folder on my phone.
Speaker BYeah, I don't know.
Speaker ACause I feel like I do it when it's, like, right after, so those emotions are really present in that video.
Speaker ASo then when I go back and watch them, I'm like.
Speaker AIt's like I can feel it all over again.
Speaker AAnd, like, just makes it feel more like.
Speaker AI mean, easier to connect with that emotion when I can see myself in that emotion.
Speaker BOh, yeah.
Speaker BYou access that point in time again.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker CThat makes complete sense.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo I just have videos of myself talking to myself and Ken.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CThat's actually pretty inspiring.
Speaker CMaybe.
Speaker CMaybe we should start doing that.
Speaker BYeah, I've.
Speaker BI've done tiny little bits, so I know this is kind of off topic, but I remember seeing a video and I was like, okay, I'm gonna.
Speaker BGonna make this video because I'm getting a moments of knowing thing.
Speaker BAnd it was actually interrupted in a weird way.
Speaker BLike, I was about to.
Speaker BI don't even know how to describe this.
Speaker BI was basically gonna Ask my dad, like, if he was with me and, like, present with me.
Speaker BAnd I was like, give me a sign.
Speaker BAnd basically the video that I was, like, thinking about was.
Speaker BI don't know if you guys have seen this, but the person calls out to their person who they've lost, like, just to see what it feels like.
Speaker BBecause, you know, they're not going to answer back.
Speaker BBut, like, just, you know, as if they're in the other room, just like, calling out to them to come here, you know?
Speaker BAnd I did that.
Speaker BAnd I don't know what I was thinking or, like, what I expected to happen, but right then and there, Jim came in.
Speaker BJim walked through the front door.
Speaker BAnd I was just like, oh.
Speaker BAnd it's like a different kind of, like, knowing.
Speaker BCause, like, I just know my dad, he fucking loved Jim.
Speaker BAnd he didn't get enough time with him.
Speaker BBut, like, that was like, a little moment of knowing in, like, a really roundabout way.
Speaker BBut I was really scared to, like, say it.
Speaker BCause I didn't want to, like, feel that pain of knowing he wouldn't answer.
Speaker BAnd then Jim walked through the front door.
Speaker BI didn't know he was coming home either.
Speaker BAnd so I just stopped the video right there.
Speaker BAnd I was like, okay.
Speaker BThat was it.
Speaker BHi, dad.
Speaker BThanks.
Speaker CYeah, I have a cool one to share on kind of that.
Speaker CSimilar topic.
Speaker CBut so, you know, I was never gonna get married again.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CLike, I was very.
Speaker BNot gonna happen.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CSo I.
Speaker CAnd I kept saying, don't.
Speaker CYou know, like, he would ask me.
Speaker CHe would kind of throw, like, just like kind of testers.
Speaker CTesters out to see how I would react and be like, no.
Speaker CYou know.
Speaker CAnd then one time he asked me so.
Speaker COr he said, this is.
Speaker CThis is my idea.
Speaker CI'm thinking we date for a year, we're engaged for a year, and then we get married.
Speaker CAnd I didn't say anything.
Speaker CAnd so I might have said, oh, that sounds good or something.
Speaker CBut it was barely anything.
Speaker CBut it wasn't.
Speaker CNo.
Speaker CSo he asked me to marry me.
Speaker CAsked me to marry him on our year anniversary.
Speaker CAnd so after the fact, he's telling me about going to the jewelry store, right?
Speaker CAnd he picks out my ring.
Speaker CAnd the employee brings his free gift out, you know.
Speaker COh, you get this free gift with this.
Speaker CWith the purchase of this ring.
Speaker CAnd it's a lion pendant.
Speaker CAnd my dad's a Leo.
Speaker CMy dad's like, lion energy through and through.
Speaker CAnyone who knows.
Speaker BEven the hair.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CJust everything.
Speaker CHe is like a Leo.
Speaker CClassic Leo.
Speaker CAnd yeah, he.
Speaker CHe brought this necklace Out.
Speaker CAnd James just, like, looked at the guy, and they were like, well, do you not like it?
Speaker CWe have other stuff you can choose from.
Speaker AAnd he was like.
Speaker CHe was just so shocked.
Speaker CHe just.
Speaker CAnd I just know for a fact, I mean, what are the odds?
Speaker AYeah, that's not.
Speaker CAnd the.
Speaker CThe pendant says there are no mountains too great.
Speaker BWhat were you just talking about?
Speaker BLike, fear.
Speaker BYay, mountain.
Speaker BGonna climb it.
Speaker CSo, yeah, he showed up for.
Speaker CFor James, and he never got to meet him, so.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThat's wild.
Speaker ASorry that we don't have a better word for that, but just like, wow.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker CAnd he shows up for James, like, over and over in moments like that.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CReally specific coming through, like that lion.
Speaker CSo, yeah, next time you see him, look at his neck.
Speaker CHis necklace is badass.
Speaker CI'm like, yes, dad.
Speaker COkay, good, fine.
Speaker CI'll marry him.
Speaker BYou're like, okay, I guess so.
Speaker BThat one is a really fun moment of knowing.
Speaker BCause it's part of your story, but that's, like, James's moment of knowing.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BSo cool.
Speaker CI know, right?
Speaker CAnd mine, too.
Speaker CI mean, I felt like, okay, I got my dad's blessing.
Speaker CThat's.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CNo words again.
Speaker CThat's.
Speaker CThat on this side and that side thing.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CYou know, on this side, he'd be saying, finish school.
Speaker CDon't be distracted.
Speaker CDon't.
Speaker CYou know?
Speaker CAnd on that side, he's.
Speaker CI can feel he's like, just, yes.
Speaker COh, yes.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CBe loved.
Speaker CLove.
Speaker CTake care of yourself.
Speaker BFollow your heart.
Speaker CFollow your heart.
Speaker CSo, yeah, I love that.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CMoments.
Speaker BI love moments when I.
Speaker BThey make life better.
Speaker CThey really do.
Speaker CI mean, I feel like that helps you move through some serious, like, grief.
Speaker BSorry, go ahead.
Speaker ANo, you go.
Speaker BI feel like you have to.
Speaker BI mean, sometimes they hit us in the face, like, really hard.
Speaker BBut I also feel like you have to, like, cultivate the moment, like, the knowing, too.
Speaker BI feel like that's an important part of it, too.
Speaker BBecause, for example, my.
Speaker BWith my dad's side of the family, their mom is, like, represented as a ladybug.
Speaker BSo, like, you know, you could have ladybugs appear at any moment in time.
Speaker BRight?
Speaker BBut there's, like, giving yourself that gift, like when a ladybug, like, lands on you or, like, shows up in, like, a place where you're just having a hard time or maybe even talking about her, just acknowledging, like, okay, yeah, I see you and, like, just taking that moment to be grateful for it.
Speaker BI feel like that mentality of gratitude just, like, kind of brings you up a level, too.
Speaker BSo that.
Speaker BThat Person who we've lost gets.
Speaker BGets access to, like, show up more almost, like, definitely.
Speaker BI just feel like you have to do that.
Speaker BOtherwise you're not gonna see, like, the magic in everyday life or your person coming through and still being with you.
Speaker BWhether that's like, you embodying their personality or things that they did or actually seeing, like, those big bam moments where you're like, okay, that couldn't be anything but that.
Speaker BSure.
Speaker BBut, yeah, I feel like you really have to, like, hone in on the little things too.
Speaker BAnd I think that's one of the reasons that I don't know if you.
Speaker BThis was like, consciously or unconsciously because journaling is such a powerful tool anyways.
Speaker BBut, like, telling you to journal those moments so that you recognize them and give them life and give them the attention that they deserve so that you could keep getting more.
Speaker BI feel like that's really important.
Speaker BOtherwise we're just gonna miss it.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CI mean, it kind of along the same lines as the law of manifestation.
Speaker CLike, if you want abundance and you find a penny on the ground and you pass it by.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CSo a penny on the ground and you create a space where you're.
Speaker CYou're giving a moment of abundance, your gratitude, and then it creates a space and it grows and it grows and then you.
Speaker CIt's like a string.
Speaker CIt's like the quantum field connecting.
Speaker CIt's the same thing.
Speaker CI feel like.
Speaker CYeah, that's.
Speaker BYeah, it definitely is.
Speaker BI. Yeah.
Speaker CThe signs.
Speaker BThe signs, we have to manifest them.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BReally?
Speaker BIt's like.
Speaker BIt's definitely a thing.
Speaker BThere's.
Speaker BThere's things out there for it about it.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BBut, yeah, I think cultivating it is super important too.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CSo let's see.
Speaker CAny other moments of knowing?
Speaker CI would say in parenting my children, that happens a lot.
Speaker CIt happens a lot because.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker CI've never had an 18 and 20 year old before.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BIt's your first time?
Speaker CMy first time.
Speaker CI've never had a child go to college before.
Speaker CI've never had, like, you know, these things happen.
Speaker CSo I definitely check in to ask.
Speaker CWhat.
Speaker CWhat would you want me doing?
Speaker CWhat?
Speaker CHow do you want me treating my son now that he's moved?
Speaker CWhat boundaries should I have?
Speaker CLike, I call on my dad all the time for stuff like that, and then I just know it's the right thing.
Speaker CEven though it's hard, this stuff is not easy, but knowing that it's the right thing and what I'm supposed to be doing is it helps yeah.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CSo, yeah.
Speaker AI love moments of knowing because I feel like that it is the upside.
Speaker ALike, it's a part of the upside of grief.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BYou know, the silver lining.
Speaker BThe upside.
Speaker CDefinitely.
Speaker CI mean, you can find it in.
Speaker AAny moment, and it really, like, it brings you.
Speaker BPresent presence is everything.
Speaker CAnd you know what's the coolest thing ever is going backwards.
Speaker CGoing backwards into and into a moment and re.
Speaker BBringing it.
Speaker CJust finding something new in a moment.
Speaker CYou know, something that.
Speaker CGround zero is what I call it, which I'm writing a book, by the way, which won't be done for another 15, 20 years, but okay.
Speaker CBut anyway, it's like, stay tuned for.
Speaker BSherry's book drop in 20 years.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AWe'll link it below.
Speaker BOn all major streaming platforms.
Speaker CBut literally, I call it ground zero.
Speaker CLike, the moment of death ground zero.
Speaker CIt's like, certain things happen, and you can go backwards.
Speaker CYou can go back and recreate and reframe and find gifts that you didn't miss, but you weren't supposed to see them yet.
Speaker CYeah, right.
Speaker CThey're there, but you're just not supposed to see them yet because you have, like, trauma to walk through and other fun things.
Speaker CYeah, right.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CJust.
