Hello, and welcome to the Borealis experience. I'm
Unknown:your host Aurora. And I'm so grateful to have you here. Yeah,
Unknown:spending some time with you today. I hope you enjoyed my
Unknown:interview with Sean. The other day, and yeah, today I'm very
Unknown:happy to be posting another episode, I had a day of working
Unknown:on my website and slightly severe meltdown, because of my
Unknown:phone working something with the software and yeah.
Unknown:Having to address it tomorrow again, but very annoying as you
Unknown:can imagine.
Unknown:We're also dependent on these devices. It's incredible. But
Unknown:yeah, when they function, they're awesome. Today, I want
Unknown:to talk about resilience. In season number one, I had one
Unknown:episode about resilience already. So if you're really
Unknown:interested about that topic, feel free to go back and listen
Unknown:to that episode too. And today, I want to talk about how
Unknown:important it is to have a support net. And what do I mean
Unknown:by support net?
Unknown:It's not necessarily people, yet, it can be people.
Unknown:But if you think about
Unknown:my example, today, being super annoyed and upset with my phone,
Unknown:I had to keep focus on what is functioning in my life, and what
Unknown:can I do?
Unknown:If my phone is not working? What can I do in Wi Fi zone?
Unknown:How can I not make this issue with my phone effect my whole
Unknown:life, my whole mood, maybe you're very good at it, maybe
Unknown:something like that wouldn't majorly push you out of balance.
Unknown:But I think there's a lot of people out there just like me,
Unknown:who
Unknown:maybe even overreact or are too focused on problem solving mode
Unknown:and being annoyed and upset and disappointed mode.
Unknown:So if you can identify if you can relate, then this episode is
Unknown:exactly for you, dear person out there.
Unknown:Thank you for being there and making me feel less alone. So it
Unknown:is very, very important that in these moments where our brain
Unknown:is kind of taking over a whole life. And we want to get rid of
Unknown:that nuisance
Unknown:that we learn to have moments, minutes, maybe hours in between
Unknown:where we can focus on something else. Because if you bite onto
Unknown:that problem like a pitbull, yeah, you can get to your goal.
Unknown:But But at what expense?
Unknown:Are you going to be nasty with people like you going to be that
Unknown:total elbow person? Or are you going to neglect other things in
Unknown:the meantime that are important to
Unknown:have in mind, just because you want to solve that one problem.
Unknown:So coming back to my example today, I just took my dogs at
Unknown:some point and went for a little walk. And it really helped me to
Unknown:free my mind and to go into birds perspective. And to be
Unknown:more okay with the fucked up situation I was in.
Unknown:And we all have to do that at times.
Unknown:I talked about death a couple of weeks ago. And there it is the
Unknown:same thing.
Unknown:Totally sad and depressed for a couple of hours. And then I
Unknown:thought, Ah, no, I have to
Unknown:show action. I have to be there for the people who suffer more
Unknown:than me in that moment who suffer from that loss in a very
Unknown:direct way. Because for me it's just indirectly because a person
Unknown:is in France and I love that person so much but for the
Unknown:person who spent their entire life with him. It must have been
Unknown:so terrifying. So
Unknown:Instead of indulging in my sadness, I decided to be
Unknown:proactive.
Unknown:And this is what we can do. When we are in a shitty situation,
Unknown:like, zoom out for a moment, of course, unless you're there and
Unknown:bleeding out.
Unknown:But if it is a minor issue like I had with my phone or with my
Unknown:laptop, or whatever,
Unknown:put it aside for a moment and focus on something that is more
Unknown:important, or from a different nature. And that can kind of
Unknown:calm you down again.
Unknown:Take a deep breath in between as well. At this point, I want to
Unknown:thank you guys and girls to be out there.
Unknown:Yesterday,
Unknown:as I said, I focused on my website,
Unknown:wanting to provide you with more content, more videos.
Unknown:And I really missed record in an episode here. So I'm so grateful
Unknown:that you receive my message and that you digested well, and
Unknown:maybe yeah, reflect about it and can use the couple of tools here
Unknown:that I provide for you, here and there to make your life easier,
Unknown:more flowing, and to
Unknown:have more enjoyable relationships, in depth
Unknown:relationships.
Unknown:And there are two when it comes to resilience, you will see as
Unknown:soon as you learn
Unknown:to
Unknown:not throw the towel in as we say in German.
Unknown:But to see as the problem as it is.
Unknown:And then see the people around around you again, and being able
Unknown:to listening to them again and be there for them again. Because
Unknown:that might be way more important than that little issue that you
Unknown:might have with your devices or with something else that is
Unknown:super, super annoying. To take out that intensity of having to
Unknown:solve something is also very, very healthy. Because some
Unknown:people react with headaches. I for instance, react with stomach
Unknown:pains and gut inflammation. And if we learn to be more smooth,
Unknown:more, I don't want to say less say fair, but more okay with
Unknown:shed going sideways at times, it also benefits your health, if
Unknown:you are able to go to bed at night. And
Unknown:to
Unknown:just see the problem as it is, but know that sleep is so
Unknown:critical. Drinking water, eating good food, having a one bed to
Unknown:go to at night, and to being able to fall asleep and to have
Unknown:a deep restful sleep is so so much more important than when
Unknown:you are going to solve that problem. We all have those
Unknown:problems at times, and people will understand how annoying it
Unknown:is. And they will not judge you if it took you a day longer or
Unknown:10 minutes longer if it was for your health sake.
Unknown:So
Unknown:take a moment now and be grateful for this little moment
Unknown:of peace here because maybe you had a shitty experience just now
Unknown:and decided to tune into my episode. And afterwards, you
Unknown:will look at it maybe with different eyes, maybe you're
Unknown:more relaxed. Maybe you came back to your breath. Maybe that
Unknown:problem is solved.
Unknown:Maybe your heart rate is lower and more constant and calm.
Unknown:Maybe you're thirsty and you're just gonna drink a big cup of
Unknown:water afterwards. And know that with a fresh mind. You can
Unknown:address a problem from a different angle. Maybe you need
Unknown:to ask for help. Maybe you can solve that problem by yourself
Unknown:and you really shouldn't.
Unknown:Maybe this problem is gonna
Unknown:make sense at some point and then you look back in a couple
Unknown:of weeks and think oh my god
Unknown:Ah, this is when I met my best friend, or this is how I
Unknown:discovered another thing that is very precious in my life. Now,
Unknown:of course, the best friend is not a thing, but you know what I
Unknown:mean? So, too bad situation as shitty and cliche, it's sounds,
Unknown:there is always a good
Unknown:side to it too.
Unknown:And maybe in those moments where we come become most irritated,
Unknown:we can just, I don't know, just dragged our monkey mind into
Unknown:that position like, oh, yeah, I just broke my leg. But what if
Unknown:it is something good? And yeah, it is stupid in that moment, if
Unknown:you imagine a person breaking their leg now and thinking about
Unknown:the good thing.
Unknown:But try it out. It is fun. Now the brain then can neutralize a
Unknown:situation and you can react more rationally instead of
Unknown:emotionally and from a very annoyed, irritated space.
Unknown:So this won't be the last episode about resilience. I will
Unknown:post way more because I know I still have to learn to be more
Unknown:resilient to have a more peaceful state of mind and
Unknown:joyous life. But for now, that said, Have a good rest of your
Unknown:day. Take good care of yourself. And I will drink a huge glass of
Unknown:water now because I'm super thirsty.
Unknown:Until next time, bye bye
