Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Foreign.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: We m are back kicking it this week here

Speaker:

on a new episode of Chase and Birdies. And

Speaker:

I'm joined by my man as always, Mr.

Speaker:

Jonathan Pepe. J.P. baby, we're

Speaker:

shaking.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, not much, man. Not my pockets,

Speaker:

uh, after the Super Bowl.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But um, I

Speaker:

say that, I say that sarcastically. Okay.

Speaker:

I always say JP Was shaking. It's like I'm in

Speaker:

contact with you seventy hundred thousand

Speaker:

times.

Speaker:

>> RB: Mhm.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: A day.

Speaker:

>> RB: A day.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But you know, just for listeners, whatever. Right.

Speaker:

>> RB: We act like we don't talk to each other.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Correct.

Speaker:

>> RB: Until we do this, which has been a little bit.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It has.

Speaker:

>> RB: So it feels good to be back after a little

Speaker:

hiatus. Um, today's

Speaker:

episode is still brought to you by Red Vanley, which is

Speaker:

amazing. Uh, so make sure you go check them

Speaker:

out@redvanly.com

Speaker:

um, their spring

Speaker:

gear is all out right now and ready to

Speaker:

be purchased by you for the spring and

Speaker:

summer. And the uh, Chase and Birdies two man brought to

Speaker:

you by Red Vanly is in

Speaker:

July and I. Dude, we're

Speaker:

increasing to 48. We already have 33 people

Speaker:

signed up and I'm shocked that there's some people that have

Speaker:

not signed up. They're friends. Um,

Speaker:

but regardless.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, no, it's uh, it's starting to make

Speaker:

its way up past the uh, 50%

Speaker:

percentage point of being full. But uh, we

Speaker:

still got a ways to go. We got people that, you know, have

Speaker:

verbally committed but hadn't signed up yet. But things,

Speaker:

uh, will start taking shape in that regard. But it's. Yeah, like

Speaker:

you said, man, it's been, it's been a little bit of some time here since

Speaker:

our last episode with Natalie Sheehan.

Speaker:

Um, but, but I, I do got to say

Speaker:

lots happened in this, in this three, three to

Speaker:

four week period, even though we've had, um.

Speaker:

Well, let's just get right into it. You know, you kind of alluded to the

Speaker:

pocket change a little bit here. And this past

Speaker:

weekend we witnessed the super bowl and, and,

Speaker:

and the Philadelphia Eagles took down the Kansas City

Speaker:

Chiefs. So tell me your.

Speaker:

What's your reaction to that? How you feeling about

Speaker:

that?

Speaker:

>> RB: I was ecstatic for, for the Eagles. Well, mainly because

Speaker:

I took them, um, I took the

Speaker:

Eagles, um, and then I took the over

Speaker:

48 and a half. And then in the second half I actually

Speaker:

took, uh, the Chiefs minus seven, which did not hit.

Speaker:

And then I took over 23 and a half in the

Speaker:

second half total. And that hit. Yeah, so it was,

Speaker:

it was three out of four. Um, which excites

Speaker:

me and um, but I.

Speaker:

Man, did they pound them. They pounded the Eagle.

Speaker:

The Eagles pounded the Chief. Sorry.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. I never once thought about taking the Chiefs in

Speaker:

this Super Bowl.

Speaker:

>> RB: Like a week and a half ago, I was taking the Eagles.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, likewise. It was never a question for

Speaker:

me, to be honest with you. And I remember I talked to Steve

Speaker:

Piering about this maybe two weeks ago now, and he didn't

Speaker:

think it was even going to be a game. I asked him who he thought

Speaker:

he was going to win, and he said, chiefs all day. It's not

Speaker:

going to be a game. And I'm sure a lot of people

Speaker:

thought that. But, uh, what was surprising to me was

Speaker:

that Saquon Barkley was held to basically nothing.

Speaker:

I, uh, mean, he didn't have a touchdown.

Speaker:

>> RB: The Chiefs were held to nothing

Speaker:

offensively all game.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But damn that defense, you know, and that's what Jalen Hurts

Speaker:

said in the post game interview. Defense wins championships. They set him

Speaker:

up. The offense in good position and offense capitalized,

Speaker:

but I was never

Speaker:

worried. That was like the only game this whole year

Speaker:

where I sat there and I just kind of knew. I'm like, you know what?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, we just chilled on the beach.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It's going to be the Eagles and South Beach. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, I mean, I couldn't remember the last

Speaker:

time that Mahomes threw a pick, let

Speaker:

alone a pick six and then followed that up with a

Speaker:

pick. Yeah, it was just.

Speaker:

And that was a great interception. Um, I mean, the guy

Speaker:

jumped out of nowhere for it. But

Speaker:

regardless, they got dominated on

Speaker:

both sides of the ball. I think the first time

Speaker:

the Chiefs made it past half field is when they

Speaker:

scored, which was like beginning of the fourth

Speaker:

quarter.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, it was, uh, it was pretty.

Speaker:

It was. It was dominated by the Eagles. There's no

Speaker:

two ways about it.

Speaker:

>> RB: So. And that was a little closer than,

Speaker:

than it actually was. But.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But it was a great overall past weekend. I mean, the Waste Management

Speaker:

was going on. You had Liv golf playing

Speaker:

over under the Lights, I guess nobody cares about.

Speaker:

But, but. Well,

Speaker:

that's the thing, because the guy that won, Adrian

Speaker:

Moronic or Morono, whatever his name is, I. I

Speaker:

never. Honest to God, I never heard him ever. I never heard

Speaker:

of him. I turned it on to check it out. Um, under the Lights kind of a

Speaker:

cool vibe. But at the end of the day, what. Especially when you had the Waste

Speaker:

Management going on, it's not even. You can't compare the

Speaker:

two tournaments.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, I mean, the only thing that live has

Speaker:

is they have a lot of names on their tour.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, apparently now earlier this week, it was announced that

Speaker:

the players are going to have a pathway to the

Speaker:

Open Championship. Now qualifying lane for them,

Speaker:

which was kind of breaking news, I think came out Monday.

Speaker:

But, um, that's gonna be,

Speaker:

you know, that'll be. So we'll see what happens with. With

Speaker:

this whole thing. I know it's kind of getting close from what we hear,

Speaker:

um, between the two, but, you know, it still probably

Speaker:

has some. Some things to be ironed out. But the Waste Management.

Speaker:

Did you watch?

Speaker:

>> RB: I was just out there. Well, I was just out there.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, yeah, you and BK got to go

Speaker:

peg it at Whisper Rock.

Speaker:

>> RB: Whisper Rock, lower course. Um,

Speaker:

yeah, it was great, dude. My birdie count for the year is up to

Speaker:

10.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, so I made, uh, the

Speaker:

front nine. I. I hit the ball well, but I just didn't score. I shot

Speaker:

41. 5 over. I'm thinking to myself,

Speaker:

what the hell, man? And I got to the back nine and

Speaker:

shot four under. And, uh, good.

Speaker:

Get in the groove. Made some putts, uh,

Speaker:

the greens, man, at Whisper Rock. I'm not kidding you.

Speaker:

They're probably 14. They were just

Speaker:

so smooth and they were so fast and they were so good.

Speaker:

Everything was so good about Whisper Rock. So,

Speaker:

um.

Speaker:

But, yeah, we played and played there, and

Speaker:

the Waste Management was. Started that Monday when we were there.

Speaker:

There was a nice little vibe about it, man. Yeah,

Speaker:

the Waste Management's a pretty big

Speaker:

event, obviously.

Speaker:

Um, but it was good to see Justin

Speaker:

Thomas start firing on some cylinders,

Speaker:

getting back into the swing of things, hold out on 18 to get

Speaker:

the 15 under strong, uh, finish

Speaker:

him. So it'll be exciting to see how that shapes out.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, they. Spieth was playing. I mean, some of the boys are

Speaker:

playing good. And Dietrich, obviously, who. Who wins the

Speaker:

event? I mean, he. He looked solid in that final round.

Speaker:

I mean, the shot he hit on, I think Berger went

Speaker:

a little deep on 16, and, uh, which. That

Speaker:

pin was all the way back, but, man, he hit a shot right in there on

Speaker:

16 to, like, 2ft. It was

Speaker:

beautiful. So hats off to him for getting a

Speaker:

dub. And, um. And we'll

Speaker:

move on into the next week of PGA Tour

Speaker:

golf.

Speaker:

But our guest today on Chasing Birdies,

Speaker:

Alex Forey joins us. And, uh,

Speaker:

remarkable story. Honest to God,

Speaker:

remarkable story. One arm golfer, number two, ranked one

Speaker:

armed golfer in the world, was, uh,

Speaker:

basically brought over here,

Speaker:

adopted by family from Ukraine. I mean, the

Speaker:

family is from America, but, um, came to

Speaker:

Alabama, Birmingham, and

Speaker:

fell in love with the game of golf. And my man can play some

Speaker:

golf. It's not like he's out shooting like 85,

Speaker:

86. I mean he's shooting six, seven, under two

Speaker:

over. Like he's the head pro at the 500

Speaker:

Club in States. Is it Statesville?

Speaker:

Statesville, North Carolina.

Speaker:

Um, so, dude, it's like,

Speaker:

I think it's a great story.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's a remarkable story.

Speaker:

So, um, without further ado, I think that

Speaker:

we should just roll it on over to him, let him tell his story

Speaker:

a little bit and tune

Speaker:

in.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, you guys enjoy this one. You're

Speaker:

tuning in today to Chase and Birdies.

Speaker:

And we are joined by probably one of the most

Speaker:

special guests we've had to date on the

Speaker:

show with Alex Fory joining us. Uh,

Speaker:

Alex has accomplished a lot in his golf

Speaker:

career with one arm and it's, it's

Speaker:

really fascinating to see, man. So I gotta tell you, I'm

Speaker:

really excited to, to have you here on the show today. And thank

Speaker:

you, uh, for coming on.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Thank you guys. I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I mean, golf's hard enough,

Speaker:

man, you know, and, and to, you know,

Speaker:

doing some research on you, reading a little bit, seeing some of the things

Speaker:

that you've accomplished, man, it's like, it's like, it kind

Speaker:

of is humbling in a way. You know what I mean? Pep.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, for sure. I mean. And doesn't he sit

Speaker:

next to the Daytona 500 trophy?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Which is pretty cool. Um, and, and

Speaker:

I'm. The animals are behind me if you guys need to know what

Speaker:

kind of animals there are. The elephant, the

Speaker:

lion, the deer. That's my background.

Speaker:

So, uh, yours a little cooler than mine. But

Speaker:

yeah, to, to like you said, bash that they

Speaker:

accomplished. What you've accomplished is absolutely

Speaker:

incredible. Um, you know, it was. I was

Speaker:

on social media scrolling the other day and Desire

Speaker:

Golf posted a video of you funny

Speaker:

enough, um, if anyone

Speaker:

would beat you. And um, that

Speaker:

video, I mean, how many likes that thing

Speaker:

get?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, uh, a good bit blowing

Speaker:

up for sure.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It's crazy. You know, and we'll get into all

Speaker:

the, the whole story about you and

Speaker:

all that jazz, but you know, for the ice breaking part of

Speaker:

it right now, where are you? In North Carolina and Statesboro?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, some 500 club in Stakesville,

Speaker:

North Carolina. About 35 minutes north

Speaker:

of uh, downtown Charlotte.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And uh, it's a really, really cool golf course

Speaker:

since um, you know, we got new ownership

Speaker:

about a year and a half ago. And a bunch of

Speaker:

uh, max are legend, uh, own it. And

Speaker:

so you never know who's playing golf out there.

Speaker:

And I Uh, I, I'm not

Speaker:

normally star struck, but first week was a little

Speaker:

star striking for sure. I definitely

Speaker:

grew up watching, you know, being from, well, I'm

Speaker:

from Ukraine, but I grew up in Alabama. And so we had

Speaker:

Talladega. So you watch two races

Speaker:

and it was Talladega and Daytona.

Speaker:

>> RB: So, so who, who was, who were

Speaker:

you starstruck by the first time that you

Speaker:

new, um, owners were there?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Definitely, ah, Earnhardt for sure.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, wow.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's pretty, it was pretty cool.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You know, NASCAR is one of those things that everyone that

Speaker:

get is into it or at some point has

Speaker:

experienced it say that, you know, it's

Speaker:

incredible. Um, I've just

Speaker:

never, you know, I've watched it on tv, but they say the

Speaker:

races in person is just like an incredible

Speaker:

experience.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, my God, bunch of left turns.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So, yeah, four left turns. That's

Speaker:

it. But it's really cool getting to

Speaker:

know these members and these owners and

Speaker:

a lot of these members drive are currently

Speaker:

on, on the circuit. And, um, it's been

Speaker:

really cool getting to know them. They've invited me

Speaker:

to, uh, their garages and

Speaker:

getting to look at all the intricate parts

Speaker:

and details these cars go

Speaker:

through and maintenance. And

Speaker:

there's so many pieces that

Speaker:

make the car go. And then

Speaker:

on top of that, you have to add the human

Speaker:

element to that.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, and so, yeah, it's a big,

Speaker:

uh, it's really, really cool. It's a team effort.

Speaker:

It's. And there's a lot of similarities

Speaker:

to, you know, NASCAR and golf that I'm learning

Speaker:

for sure.

Speaker:

>> RB: I wonder, uh, what Ryan and I's time would be on

Speaker:

changing a tire.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Dude, you can actually

Speaker:

do that, uh, at Charlotte Mother Speedway

Speaker:

here, uh, you can, you can get a group and

Speaker:

see how, how quickly you can change a tire.

Speaker:

>> RB: Maybe that's something we got to do, man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But come to Charlotte for the

Speaker:

PGA Championship and we'll get you out there.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, that'd be good. You know what? We might, we might have to do that. I

Speaker:

have some family in Charlotte, so it's a great city, great golf

Speaker:

town. Um, but what the 500 club.

Speaker:

So I know obviously you just mentioned that's. And that's where you

Speaker:

are the assistant pro or, uh, teaching

Speaker:

pro. No, you, you just

Speaker:

got. Okay, yeah, head pro out there.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And that's been really cool. A little different

Speaker:

than, um, what I'm used to, but it's been really

Speaker:

cool. And just, uh, uh,

Speaker:

they asked me, what do you do? I'm like, ah, what

Speaker:

don't I do?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, um,

Speaker:

did you say head pro?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yes, sir. Yep. First disabled, uh, hub pro

Speaker:

in. In America, actually, so.

Speaker:

>> RB: Wow.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Damn. Congrats.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's amazing, man. M. Congratulations.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So I know a little bit about your

Speaker:

background. You know, born in Ukraine

Speaker:

and, you know, moved over here to, uh.

Speaker:

Was it Alabama?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: At a young age in Birmingham. And, um,

Speaker:

naturally, you know, was. Was disabled on your

Speaker:

journey here. But what was

Speaker:

that like growing up as youth

Speaker:

and seeing other kids and people

Speaker:

have full reigns of. Of their

Speaker:

extremities, if you will, and you,

Speaker:

um, in this position of. Of not. I

Speaker:

mean, did that give you more motivation? Do you feel

Speaker:

mentally, um, to. To achieve

Speaker:

more or want more?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah, not

Speaker:

bad. But it was definitely. I grew up trying to

Speaker:

prove myself, and I, uh, knew

Speaker:

that I could do it through athletics, and,

Speaker:

um, I was pretty gifted. Anyways, uh,

Speaker:

on top of adding that

Speaker:

motivation, so I played basketball,

Speaker:

football, soccer, tennis, golf,

Speaker:

uh, across the country. I did it all.

Speaker:

Um, it was really cool. Uh,

Speaker:

my dad really let me play all the sports, which

Speaker:

I think was really, really important.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's amazing.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: My dad is a twelfth sport collegiate

Speaker:

athlete in South Africa too, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Damn.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I always say that, uh, your dad.

Speaker:

>> RB: Was a 12 sport collegiate athlete in South

Speaker:

Africa.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It was wild. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, I didn't know there's 12 sports. What did he do?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, he, uh, he did it, uh. He did it

Speaker:

all. But, yeah,

Speaker:

it was wild.

Speaker:

>> RB: And I mean, that's the thing too, is, you know,

Speaker:

talking to you about your. Your story and, you

Speaker:

know, people think. Some people think, oh, my days shitty and

Speaker:

this, that and the other. And, you know, somebody like

Speaker:

yourself, you seem like a

Speaker:

absolutely happy person and.

Speaker:

And, uh, you're smiling, and I think that's important

Speaker:

too.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Attitude is everything.

Speaker:

So, you know, you wake up and,

Speaker:

yeah, I should not be alive. Uh, I should have been, you

Speaker:

know, in that orphanage and probably dead.

Speaker:

Um, and so that's why we did the

Speaker:

whole, uh, nonprofit getting

Speaker:

kids out of Ukraine or in a jig. We

Speaker:

moved about 8, 000 gigs out. Um, it

Speaker:

was really cool. But, yeah, I felt their pain because

Speaker:

I was in their shoes. And, um. And so,

Speaker:

um, any day that you get to wake up is

Speaker:

a good day. Um, and then, you know, what do you

Speaker:

do with that day?

Speaker:

>> RB: It's true.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, it's. It's all a mindset, man, and

Speaker:

perspective. And, you know, it's

Speaker:

especially for. And I hate to say it,

Speaker:

but, like, we have a bad day on the

Speaker:

golf course or whatnot. You know, it could riffle through the rest

Speaker:

of the day, you kind of pissed off. You know, you hit, you hit the ball

Speaker:

left, you hit it right. You're, you're not, you know, playing where

Speaker:

you think you should be playing, but

Speaker:

at the end of the day, really doesn't matter. And I think,

Speaker:

you know, looking at someone like you that's

Speaker:

accomplished so much with, with the disability

Speaker:

again, as I mentioned earlier, it's, it's extremely

Speaker:

humbling really. Um, and it's

Speaker:

really, it's really, you know,

Speaker:

it's really cool too, you know, to see someone

Speaker:

like you. And, and so as of today,

Speaker:

are you the number one ranked 1 armed

Speaker:

golfer in the world?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Right now? I'm actually ranked number M2.

Speaker:

Number, um, two.

Speaker:

>> RB: This person, you want me to beat his ass?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I know I did play in a

Speaker:

tournament in Daytona a couple of weeks ago

Speaker:

and I did beat him by

Speaker:

12 shots. 12 shots.

Speaker:

>> RB: How you doing?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, we, I, uh, think when the new rankings

Speaker:

come out, uh, next month will be number

Speaker:

one. We'll go back to number one.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's, I mean, still with 1 2, 1

Speaker:

2, you know, I mean, it's a

Speaker:

great battle. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I also let him know that I'm still number number

Speaker:

one. Just because he played in more

Speaker:

tournaments than me last year doesn't mean

Speaker:

not my number one.

Speaker:

>> RB: Man. You're like, that's the thing too. Like, I was watching videos of your

Speaker:

swing the other day and

Speaker:

it's, it's crazy, you know, it's crazy

Speaker:

how your swing's perfect.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Thank you. I appreciate it.

Speaker:

>> RB: You're getting it in the right spot. I mean.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Thank you.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But you have to be so strong in ways.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yes.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You know what I mean? Because like, of overcompensate. Like

Speaker:

I'm sure your core and your left

Speaker:

shoulder, you know, you're

Speaker:

probably so strong to be able to. I mean,

Speaker:

because you rip it too, you know, like 270.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah. Um, you know, using

Speaker:

lower body is huge.

Speaker:

And I've learned, um, you know, through soccer and

Speaker:

kicking, uh, how important

Speaker:

to you the ground because that was pretty small if

Speaker:

a kicker. In high school, I was kicking

Speaker:

4050 yard field goals and I weighed 80

Speaker:

pounds and I was with the shoulder

Speaker:

pads and helmet.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's funny, man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Using, uh, your lower body. So huge. And that's why

Speaker:

when I teach, I try to make sure people,

Speaker:

uh, you know, I did a club fitting yesterday with a,

Speaker:

with a guy and yeah, the, the

Speaker:

cloak, uh, added 20 yards

Speaker:

to his drive. But now we're

Speaker:

actually gonna go for lessons and

Speaker:

actually use his lower body. More because he

Speaker:

would go, you know, he was a cement, uh, block

Speaker:

on his lower body. I'm like, no, if you. You use your

Speaker:

lower body, you're at 10 to 15

Speaker:

yards more. And so, uh, and that's why I

Speaker:

love working with our members. You know, how do they improve

Speaker:

as well? It's. It's a fun challenge.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. The lower body certainly is

Speaker:

where it's at in some respect. And I think you look at guys like

Speaker:

Justin Thomas, for example, even McElroy,

Speaker:

but, I mean, they really use that ground for us to get through

Speaker:

it. Um, and I.

Speaker:

I, uh, think for amateur golfers, often they. That's

Speaker:

overlooked clearly, you know, but

Speaker:

at the end of the day, we all know distance, more distance really

Speaker:

isn't the answer.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, it's all about control.

Speaker:

I, uh, actually changed one thing up in my golf

Speaker:

swing with my shorter iron.

Speaker:

My, um, buddy was looking at it, so I changed it.

Speaker:

Went out on the course and hold out for, ah, for

Speaker:

eagle on number one. Literally, like, 10

Speaker:

minutes after changing, I'm like, it's all about control.

Speaker:

And, like, if I can gain more control, the

Speaker:

distance will take care of itself.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, that's the thing,

Speaker:

too. Like, 290 to 300. Like, it's. That's

Speaker:

not that big of a difference.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Right.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, you're trying to get that extra squeeze, that extra 10 yards out

Speaker:

of your swing. Who knows where it's going to go?

Speaker:

But if you can control and hit it 285, 290,

Speaker:

well, then give me the center of the fairway all day.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Give me middle at 280 all day. Uh-huh. I'll

Speaker:

take that all day.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And I guarantee you, you know, you look at the PGA

Speaker:

numbers and obviously the closings are harder and all

Speaker:

that, uh, the setup harder, but, you know, driving

Speaker:

average is around 55%.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That is insane.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Really. Like,

Speaker:

I remember when core way harder. And

Speaker:

I. I think technology has hurt that part of golf

Speaker:

where it doesn't matter how far or. Or how

Speaker:

strict you are now. Um, you know,

Speaker:

as long as you're driving at 3:30, 3,

Speaker:

40 in the rough, you can. I mean, Bryson did that when

Speaker:

he won the US Open.

Speaker:

>> RB: I was just gonna say that Bryson's

Speaker:

the. We had his caddy on. On

Speaker:

this podcast, and we were talking about it, and it's

Speaker:

like, you look at Piner's number two, all he did was just hit it

Speaker:

as far as he could down there and

Speaker:

get it on and make a few putts. And, um,

Speaker:

yeah, I mean, like, 7, uh, 16 was a prime

Speaker:

example of. Of that, uh, when.

Speaker:

On that final round. So, um. And there's not.

Speaker:

I mean, don't. There's no rough.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: But at the same time, it takes that element of

Speaker:

being able to control your golf ball.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I saw Bryson, actually, I turned on live golf

Speaker:

this past weekend in the. Under the lights, which

Speaker:

that was. It was kind of

Speaker:

cool.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: They're digging for anything right now.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It was kind of cool with the waste management.

Speaker:

>> RB: Digging for anything.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But that. Okay, so let's.

Speaker:

Let's pivot on that, because I agree with you.

Speaker:

Watching the waste management this weekend

Speaker:

was awesome. Like, the

Speaker:

vibe everyone. Like it was. And whenever you

Speaker:

flip it over and I was watching the night Live golf

Speaker:

league thing, you know, whatever it is. It wasn't

Speaker:

that. Other than it being under the lights, it wasn't like

Speaker:

I was, like, rooting for anyone.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Or 12 people, you know, came out

Speaker:

to support, too. And you're like. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I mean, they had carnival.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I was watching. I'm like, where are the people? Like, where are

Speaker:

they? I don't know, like, Saudi

Speaker:

Arabia or somewhere.

Speaker:

>> RB: They should start doing cutouts and just put cutouts around the.

Speaker:

The greens so it looks like there's a lot of people.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Remember that old Tiger Wood commercial where.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: With the cutouts and then the hat coming m. And just

Speaker:

drilled somebody's head off, so they should

Speaker:

do.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. I don't know.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And I like the guy gone live. It's not the guys that

Speaker:

are playing. I think it's the, um.

Speaker:

The forced

Speaker:

rivalry between the pga, too. Like, if it

Speaker:

wasn't forced, I think it would be way

Speaker:

cooler. Yeah. I mean,

Speaker:

if there was, like, crossroads and cross play

Speaker:

where, hey, like, you know, the top

Speaker:

three or top five love guys get to play in the

Speaker:

Tour Champions.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah. That's the first time we heard that. That's pretty

Speaker:

good.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's not a bad idea.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Like, let's see what Kim Kum and, um.

Speaker:

Um, you know, Brian can do at the Tour

Speaker:

Championship.

Speaker:

>> RB: Don't get this guy started on Cam Smith over here.

Speaker:

I mean.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yay or no. On, um, camp.

Speaker:

>> RB: No, he loves them.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I love him. I was so sad to see him leave, But.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You know, I think. Yeah. And I like Bryson, man. I

Speaker:

really do. Um, dj.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Cool. I've gotten to hang out with DJ as well. Multiple

Speaker:

times.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So. You're right. It's not the people. It's just the whole

Speaker:

exhibit, I guess.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You know, but

Speaker:

so what, like,

Speaker:

when you're golfing, like, are you able

Speaker:

to. What's your go to shot.

Speaker:

I mean, are you. Are you able to curve it? You know, I'm

Speaker:

sure you've learned all of that.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. So when I drive the ball, I like

Speaker:

to keep it pretty, like low and

Speaker:

straight. Um, maybe with a little bit of

Speaker:

a draw. I do like to work it as well.

Speaker:

I put a new shaft in my driver and I'm

Speaker:

loving it. By

Speaker:

Mizuno. Um, but I

Speaker:

put in a new KBS shaft, and I

Speaker:

absolutely love it. It's a little bit lighter,

Speaker:

but tipped at the bottom.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And I'm able to swing 100. I

Speaker:

know that. Hey, I'm not gonna lose it, right? Or

Speaker:

not. You know, the fix is not gonna just stay

Speaker:

shut. Um. Um,

Speaker:

it's pretty fun. I was hitting it on the

Speaker:

golf simulator. Uh, we have a golf simulator

Speaker:

at the bar. And we were with the

Speaker:

Mizuno rep, and we were hitting about

Speaker:

3:10, 3:13. Obviously those

Speaker:

things are juiced, but damn. Um,

Speaker:

it looks. It looks pretty fun getting

Speaker:

heckled and all that by the.

Speaker:

By the member. It looked a lot fun.

Speaker:

>> RB: Wow.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I mean, hey, they gotta respect your.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You know, you gotta show them why they hired you.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Exactly. Exactly.

Speaker:

>> RB: 3:10, 3:13.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, we top the ball.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I thought.

Speaker:

See, I. I think some of those times, those damn things. I was

Speaker:

talking to our guy at the club where Pep and I play

Speaker:

out of, and I. I told him, you know, I think these things

Speaker:

are rigged. Not,

Speaker:

not rigged, but just inaccurate to some degree. But he

Speaker:

disagreed with me. And it came kind of gave me some valid

Speaker:

points for things. And. And I thought, well, you know what? Maybe you're right. Maybe

Speaker:

I am just not hitting it that far anymore.

Speaker:

>> RB: Maybe you are just hitting a 265 off the field.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, fly. I think.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I think what happens is we take the. The

Speaker:

conditions. Weather conditions out of it.

Speaker:

And so even if it's humid, like, today's a perfect

Speaker:

day. It's like 70 and. But there's still gonna

Speaker:

be a little bit of wind or whatever. And,

Speaker:

uh, I think the per. You know, you get perfect

Speaker:

contact every time. Well, you should, I think,

Speaker:

familiar get perfect contact. So those

Speaker:

spin numbers and everything, I think they're actually

Speaker:

more accurate than if you've got a little bit of a

Speaker:

dirty groove and, uh, you've got a little

Speaker:

mud on your ball. And yeah, I think those

Speaker:

numbers. Now the difference is

Speaker:

what you get outside is what you're going to

Speaker:

get. And so at least

Speaker:

for the winter time, understanding, hey, these are

Speaker:

my numbers. Uh, and then going out there

Speaker:

on the course a couple Times before a big tournament.

Speaker:

And. And, yeah, dug that

Speaker:

correlate.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, we're actually coming down your way for a big

Speaker:

tournament. First tournament of the year, um, over

Speaker:

to Pine Needles, Mid Pines.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: You know, the Pine Needles

Speaker:

Invitational. And, um, so it's a

Speaker:

two man, best ball, gross event.

Speaker:

It's, uh, all really good players. It's. It's a blast.

Speaker:

Um, we mosey on down on Thursday morning, play

Speaker:

Pine Needles, Pine Needles, Mid Pines, and hopefully we

Speaker:

make the cut and go to Pine Needles.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: But, um, I saw on some of your social media, you

Speaker:

smacking it around Mid Pines.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I love, uh, Mid Pine. Yeah. I love all those

Speaker:

courses. You know, I'm fortunate to have played

Speaker:

in all three of the United King Adaptive

Speaker:

Opens.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And the first two were at Pine Herds,

Speaker:

and so we played Pinehurst, number. Oh,

Speaker:

gosh, I should have number six, I think.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah. And then did you play two?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, no, we didn't play two for the tournament. Bad. I

Speaker:

have played two out there.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, and, uh, but I love Southern Pines

Speaker:

and Mid Pines and Pine Needles. Um, we played all of

Speaker:

those as well. Yeah, Tobacco Road was

Speaker:

beautiful. Uh, I mean, North Carolina

Speaker:

had some amazing.

Speaker:

>> RB: So much golf to the mountains.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You go to, you know, Wade Hampton. Uh, and

Speaker:

then you go down to the coast and you got an

Speaker:

absolute stunning golf course, Eagle

Speaker:

Point.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, and that's my point, is

Speaker:

that, you know, we're. We're boxed up here and up. We're in

Speaker:

Pittsburgh, in Morgantown, West Virginia. You know,

Speaker:

we're. We're inside hitting balls, and all of a sudden you let us free

Speaker:

on February 28th. And it. I mean, I scull a

Speaker:

few chip shots here and there in the practice round. Get

Speaker:

those out of the way, Skull a couple bunker shots,

Speaker:

get those out of the way, and then we're tuned in by, um,

Speaker:

Friday.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, there you go. Well, if you come a

Speaker:

day early, come to my course and, uh,

Speaker:

we'd love to. I think you have to. From

Speaker:

Morgantown, um, swing by Stateville. Oh,

Speaker:

you don't have to.

Speaker:

>> RB: I think. Yeah, we'll probably fly, I think. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You're fine.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. It's just easier to come back on

Speaker:

Sunday, you know what I mean?

Speaker:

>> RB: We probably could stop in Statesville there, bud.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I might come down your way if you all have an open

Speaker:

day. Like some play, uh, Tobacco Road or

Speaker:

something.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, well, pep set the trip up for the, uh,

Speaker:

practice round, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, okay.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I'd love to have you. Um, but

Speaker:

yeah, we, we, you know, Sunday you get done

Speaker:

playing golf, and for the last Couple years, my partner

Speaker:

and I missed the cut. So we were over at

Speaker:

Southern Pines, which, uh, you

Speaker:

know, nice spot, but by the time

Speaker:

you get done eating a little Mac and cheese and a little fried chicken

Speaker:

sweet tea, it's 3:00.

Speaker:

Now normally, you know, you leave at 3:00, you're not

Speaker:

getting home till 11, so. Oh, yeah, that,

Speaker:

that's the reason why we just started flying down because it makes Sunday

Speaker:

a hell of a lot easier.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But, um, I've got my 12 hour rule if I

Speaker:

can drive within 12 hours. I like to drive,

Speaker:

but, yeah,

Speaker:

it's not fun when you're playing it. You know, I did the

Speaker:

Daytona tournament and just left right after that

Speaker:

and drove eight and a half hours.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, not fun.

Speaker:

So that adaptive US Open, uh, is it

Speaker:

qualifiers to get into that? Yeah, uh, yeah,

Speaker:

it's people that might have, you know,

Speaker:

amputated leg or, um,

Speaker:

whatever.

Speaker:

Um, so how many people

Speaker:

qualify for that?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, so there's only. You've got

Speaker:

20 automatic qualifiers, um, and

Speaker:

then you've got 70 spots, uh,

Speaker:

available to qualify. And so I

Speaker:

was, I was like some pretty good, good golf

Speaker:

and qualified and um. Yeah,

Speaker:

pretty. Yeah, you're kind of expected

Speaker:

to qualify, but you're still, you know, you still have

Speaker:

to show up and a good day and play. And play. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, so what's your best finish

Speaker:

for the Adaptive Open?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, not very good. I think I finished like 4, 40

Speaker:

40th or something, uh, last year. So, uh, not, not

Speaker:

great.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: What other players and

Speaker:

disabilities are in, included in this? I mean.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I mean, you've got arm impairment, you got

Speaker:

leg impairment, you've got neurological

Speaker:

impairment, you've got wheelchair, um,

Speaker:

you've got vision impairment.

Speaker:

Um, then you've got intellectual. I think

Speaker:

I said that. So, um, you know, Amy

Speaker:

Brockhurst would. Johnson, uh, drum. She

Speaker:

played. Cody. Ah, he had gone fin drums.

Speaker:

He played. Um, and then you got the

Speaker:

people that shouldn't be playing disable golf

Speaker:

that they play sometimes and you're like, we call

Speaker:

them paper cuts. Um,

Speaker:

and um, okay,

Speaker:

congratulations. You

Speaker:

had uh, one. One guy,

Speaker:

uh, everybody calls him out on it, but he

Speaker:

still shows up. One guy had, um, Tom and Johnson

Speaker:

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He still plays in me.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh yeah. Like he, I beat him

Speaker:

to uh, you know, qualify for the worm,

Speaker:

uh, the arm section. I beat him by

Speaker:

two shots. And then he shows up, I'm like, how the

Speaker:

hell. Like, why are you here? I beat you. And

Speaker:

um, um. Yeah, he was like,

Speaker:

well, you know, I got in on uh, a, uh, exemption.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'M like, so he has two. So.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh yeah. Two hands.

Speaker:

>> RB: My man's playing the one arm with two hands.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh yeah, Just straight up. And you're like. And

Speaker:

we've called him out on it and all that. So some of those

Speaker:

things need to change. Uh, I think for adaptive off to

Speaker:

grow.

Speaker:

>> RB: Why is he showing up though? Like what? Like how does.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: If people start involved. He won

Speaker:

the. I think he won the overall arm. I don't know

Speaker:

how he got into the adaptive Open. And then he won the

Speaker:

Armin Care man. And you're like, by

Speaker:

Tommy John.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I mean, the kicker would be someone showed up.

Speaker:

>> RB: I snapped my ankle last year.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I honestly thought about reaching to Tiger woods and be like,

Speaker:

hey, can you just play one time?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He could, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. But one dude had,

Speaker:

um, a very, very, ah,

Speaker:

very, very mild form of something

Speaker:

and he won. Uh, and I think he

Speaker:

forgot that he was disabled. And then they had to

Speaker:

snap back in it on the other interview.

Speaker:

Is this really what we want representing adaptive

Speaker:

golf?

Speaker:

>> RB: It's cool though, that, I mean, take that. All that

Speaker:

BS out of it. It's really cool that

Speaker:

they have the. Who spearheaded that? Was it the

Speaker:

USGA that kind of.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, around for 70

Speaker:

years? Um, and nobody really

Speaker:

brought any limelight to it. Hopefully I've been

Speaker:

helping, being a catalyst for it.

Speaker:

Um, and, um, you know. But

Speaker:

yeah, the USGA really spearheaded, you

Speaker:

know, um, they saw the need

Speaker:

for diversity and it was. They

Speaker:

came at a perfect time. I came right back in the middle

Speaker:

of the whole TJ Live drama

Speaker:

and I felt like, you know, that the golf came

Speaker:

together and was really hip hop in golf for a while

Speaker:

and you got to see more of these stories. I

Speaker:

mean, there's this guy, probably the best cable

Speaker:

golfer in the world I, uh, play with. His

Speaker:

name's Isha and he has no legs

Speaker:

from Cameroon. He used to play on the

Speaker:

European, European, uh,

Speaker:

tour. Uh, got

Speaker:

meningitis, got his legs amputated, got

Speaker:

his arm. He had no fingers except for his

Speaker:

left arm. So he literally strapped the

Speaker:

club to the palm of his hand. Got no finger. He

Speaker:

was on his right hand like with a, uh, thing.

Speaker:

And I mean he. He hits about

Speaker:

310, 320. Uh,

Speaker:

went to Iowa, shot 63

Speaker:

and uh, like 71 by like

Speaker:

12 shots. And you're like, this is

Speaker:

a. The representation of

Speaker:

adaptive office that is needed.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Correct.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, and so we. I'm working very hard with

Speaker:

him to get his name out there and you

Speaker:

know, I'm fortunate to have sponsors

Speaker:

and we're trying to have. Get him over

Speaker:

from, uh, from, um, Cameroon and play

Speaker:

more adaptive tournaments.

Speaker:

>> RB: So who, who are your sponsors right now?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, kbx, Yeti Jones

Speaker:

Bag, uh, five, uh, Hundred Club,

Speaker:

uh, Iliac

Speaker:

Laguna. Um,

Speaker:

and then we're. We're working on a apparel

Speaker:

deal. But, yeah, those. Those guys are really, really good

Speaker:

to me.

Speaker:

The apparel deal. It's kind of hard being a head pro.

Speaker:

Yeah, I'm kind of like, you have to

Speaker:

categorize, uh, so that's a little hard.

Speaker:

But, um, right now it's a live

Speaker:

forever golf Jacksonville, um,

Speaker:

Florida. And, um, but, you know, the goal

Speaker:

is to get paid. Uh, and. And

Speaker:

that next step of paying adaptive golf is,

Speaker:

you know, I got my PGA card. I passed

Speaker:

the pat.

Speaker:

I was the only one to do it. Pretty good golfer, like,

Speaker:

you know, why not pay me to be a professional golfer like

Speaker:

everybody else? You know, I'm not asking for millions of dollars,

Speaker:

but something that can support my family and

Speaker:

can support the dreams of one day playing on the

Speaker:

PGA Tour.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, it's amazing.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And so we're trying to. Hopefully

Speaker:

I'm a catalyst for not only the

Speaker:

spotlight of adaptive golf, but also getting adaptive

Speaker:

golfers. The golfers that are

Speaker:

better than me. Uh, and I'm not afraid to say that I

Speaker:

like the challenge. Uh, but those leg guys

Speaker:

that can hit 320, 350, you know,

Speaker:

um, I play with a guy, Jordan Thomas, uh,

Speaker:

out of Nashville. Great golfer, great human

Speaker:

beings. Or a nonprofit, um, after

Speaker:

he got his leg, uh, chopped off

Speaker:

and, um, broke and hit at

Speaker:

323 30.

Speaker:

Um, you know, it's a

Speaker:

little. Not unfair, but it's like

Speaker:

320.

Speaker:

>> RB: Like, how do.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I don't even say it, but.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, I don't know. How do you. How. How do I hit it

Speaker:

further?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, that's why

Speaker:

I just told him. Don't say it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I'm giving you the card. The table

Speaker:

card. Well, no recharge.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'm gonna. I'm gonna. No, I'm

Speaker:

gonna pull that guy that nobody likes and just say

Speaker:

that. I mean.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, I remember for my buddy who, uh,

Speaker:

he does MMA fighting, uh, with one leg,

Speaker:

uh, and he plays off his name. He ran

Speaker:

for, uh, tenant or state senate, uh,

Speaker:

for Georgia. Big dude. Don't. With

Speaker:

Shay, uh, and B and. And Shay

Speaker:

were on the putting green warming up, and Eli was there,

Speaker:

and then another dude was there that shouldn't be playing the table

Speaker:

golf. And Shay just straight up, you know, me and

Speaker:

Shay are having a conversation, and again, you don't mess

Speaker:

with Shay. But Shane's like, yeah, there's, uh,

Speaker:

definite golf is changing. Like, uh, like,

Speaker:

this guy over here points to Eli, like, this

Speaker:

guy shouldn't be playing in the, uh,

Speaker:

qualifier at all. And Eli

Speaker:

and Shea look at each other.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'm like, oh, here we go, boys.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, we're about to throw down. And then I, you know,

Speaker:

go around. I, uh, start talking to dude. I'm like, oh, dude, like,

Speaker:

who are you counting for? And you go, oh, no, I'm

Speaker:

playing. I'm like, oh.

Speaker:

Like. And then, you know, this guy, like. And, um,

Speaker:

when I tell you, like, there's zero disability.

Speaker:

This Guy was a D1 lacrosse

Speaker:

player, about 340. He

Speaker:

was driving the greens on us. He was in the

Speaker:

group behind me, and I, I. About

Speaker:

13th hole. Yeah, I'm like, in the thick of it. I'm

Speaker:

playing pretty well. I'm two under. I'm like, I swear to

Speaker:

God, one more ball lands on the screen, and one more ball

Speaker:

does. I said, hey, dude, one more time, and I'm throwing your

Speaker:

ball in the water.

Speaker:

Like. Like, yeah, like, I.

Speaker:

Like, no, he didn't do it again. Shot five under,

Speaker:

and he, uh, won. So I'm kind of touching off,

Speaker:

but bro was driving par forward, and I'm like,

Speaker:

yeah, like, playing with the wheelchair guy,

Speaker:

like, this guy Parkinson's and king,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

you're just walking up here like nothing. Oh, dude.

Speaker:

Yeah, we've had some chat.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I do love the adaptive golf community. Like, we'll. We'll call

Speaker:

each other out.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, that's good. So what. So what

Speaker:

would you say your handicap is right now?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Being honest, probably right now it's like a.

Speaker:

Probably a three. Uh, you know, last week

Speaker:

or a couple weeks ago, I did a YouTube video, uh, with

Speaker:

some guys and shot seven under, putted

Speaker:

lights out, looked out for a hole in one and

Speaker:

then almost drained, uh, another one. Uh,

Speaker:

and then, Yeah, I had eight burdens.

Speaker:

Damn, it was a good

Speaker:

day yesterday. I shot 300.

Speaker:

Getting better.

Speaker:

>> RB: We gotta get you the two man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And. And, you know,

Speaker:

playing on YouTube is a little bit different.

Speaker:

>> RB: We gotta get you in our two man event. Um,

Speaker:

it's in July 27th, 29th,

Speaker:

at 5, uh, Star Resort, Nemicol, and here up here in

Speaker:

Pittsburgh. But what we do is, um, we

Speaker:

got, um, a player blind draw with a B

Speaker:

player.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, and then we go do best

Speaker:

ball. And, um, I think last year

Speaker:

John Barry, ex NBA player, won with,

Speaker:

um, Eddie. Amen. Just

Speaker:

a normal guy.

Speaker:

Um, but this year, the pot's gonna

Speaker:

be 20, 000 bucks. Top three spots get paid out.

Speaker:

So, um, we'll. We'll figure the

Speaker:

details out with you, get you up there because I think that it would be

Speaker:

fun to have you there and compete.

Speaker:

And um.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, you know, that

Speaker:

we, we uh, gotta thank Steve

Speaker:

Piering, you know, and.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I was just about to shout out my boy, so I

Speaker:

couldn't say anything just yet. Uh, but yeah,

Speaker:

Asher golf apparel stuff,

Speaker:

it's coming.

Speaker:

>> RB: So. Yeah, so of course, Steve. Of course. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Steve's awesome. How y'all know Steve?

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, uh, uh, by default.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> RB: He was sitting in his car at a country club one time

Speaker:

by himself and he got out trying to sell his golf shirts.

Speaker:

Um, it's like chasing us down. It was

Speaker:

like. Dude, it was recycled

Speaker:

cotton. But, um. No, it's just

Speaker:

kidding. We met him through, uh, we met him through

Speaker:

Hank Ashworth.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, when they had link soul. And, and

Speaker:

um. So yeah, Steve's. Steve's a good dude.

Speaker:

Really good dude. Um,

Speaker:

means well, friends all of us.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So he's fun to be around. And honestly, he's always down for

Speaker:

golf. Oh, yeah. You need the guy like that.

Speaker:

You know what I mean? You need the guy that will play golf no matter

Speaker:

the circumstance.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Hm.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, and that's Steve Piering, man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I mean, but the heavy stuff's not coming down for a

Speaker:

while.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.

Speaker:

>> RB: During COVID we played at Pete Dye Golf Club.

Speaker:

Uh, and Steve drove four and a half hours

Speaker:

from Philly to play golf and then

Speaker:

drove back like right after.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, he's that guy.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I think I've been about four half hours for a girl,

Speaker:

but not for girls.

Speaker:

>> RB: There you go.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Wait, are you, are you married?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, I, I used to be. Got, uh, divorced

Speaker:

and got to play a lot more golf, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay, I understand.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, yeah, yeah, it was one of

Speaker:

those, uh, chasing dreams. I've got a non profit next. Uh,

Speaker:

started doing golf and then we just are another

Speaker:

one. And some people are on your team

Speaker:

and others hop off the train and

Speaker:

decide to hop off and just

Speaker:

change full scheme ahead. But I've got an amazing

Speaker:

girlfriend right now and um, she's very, very

Speaker:

supportive. And that's great golf. Which

Speaker:

is rare because I've never had a girl that likes

Speaker:

golf either. So it's been pretty cool.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah. Why don't they like golf? Like, I don't get that.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: This one right now. Elizabeth

Speaker:

loved golf and we actually got to go play for the first

Speaker:

time together. And so,

Speaker:

uh, it's pretty cool.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's awesome. Good.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, no, I mean, I think I think golf's grown.

Speaker:

I love seeing what golf

Speaker:

is doing, you know, for, for

Speaker:

the example,

Speaker:

the, what do you call it? The adaption.

Speaker:

Adapt option. Golfer.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Adaptive golf. Like that's remarkable,

Speaker:

man.

Speaker:

Now, it does kind of rub me the wrong way that you

Speaker:

got some people, you know, that uh, maybe shouldn't be playing

Speaker:

it, but what's the movie with Giant?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Giant, uh, Knox.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, the only one I know is.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Jackass Johnny, uh, Knoxville with,

Speaker:

um. Oh my God. Um,

Speaker:

the Special Olympics.

Speaker:

Oh, you, um, know what I'm talking about.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yep.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh my God, I've watched it. Um,

Speaker:

I don't know. He, he

Speaker:

runs in the Special Olympics.

Speaker:

>> RB: The Ringer.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: The Ringer, yeah, there's some ringers

Speaker:

out there. The Ringer. I love that movie. I haven't

Speaker:

watched it a while, but yeah, definitely, definitely a couple

Speaker:

ringers out there where you're like. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So do you think you're, uh, you'll try to

Speaker:

Monday queue into some of these events in the future?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, so my goal, um, and I

Speaker:

think we're getting closer and closer. Get a little bit better at

Speaker:

golf and I'm gonna, you know, I've got my PGA card, so

Speaker:

I'm gonna try. I would love to play in the PGA

Speaker:

Championship.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's uh, my life goal to qualify through

Speaker:

the pga.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I think that would be

Speaker:

amazing. Uh, you know, not only represent,

Speaker:

um, the usga, the pga,

Speaker:

golf in general, disabled golf, uh,

Speaker:

but also, you know, those, those journeymen,

Speaker:

those guys that dreamed about doing it and

Speaker:

uh, worked hard and did it

Speaker:

and um, uh, just be able to

Speaker:

qualify. It's humbling to be able to

Speaker:

qualify for the UXGA Adaptive.

Speaker:

Um, it would just mean a lot to me,

Speaker:

uh, if I can do.

Speaker:

>> RB: A PGA change, would that be awesome?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That would be so good. You know, I just thought of

Speaker:

something. You, John Daly loves

Speaker:

hitting left handed wedge shots.

Speaker:

>> RB: Mhm.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh yeah. I mean, that would be good to see you

Speaker:

two in a little competition.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I would love it. Let's make it happen.

Speaker:

>> RB: We might be able to make that happen.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I would love to. I'm going down,

Speaker:

uh, Monday and Tuesday of the

Speaker:

Masters. Um, I might go to

Speaker:

Hooters real quick and yeah, if he would do.

Speaker:

>> RB: A little triple, we might be able to. If we meet you in

Speaker:

Nashville. Yeah, we could do that

Speaker:

at Old Hickory Country Club.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, yeah. Wait, wait, let me know. I love

Speaker:

Holy Hickory. The last job I had

Speaker:

was in Nashville. Murphysboro.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, really?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, really. I know a couple of the corgs you got there and

Speaker:

uh, Hermitage is really Fun to play. And

Speaker:

governor, uh, is responding. So.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, Pep normally wears his Troubadour

Speaker:

hat, but today he's wearing his Grove hat.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So very jealous of, uh, of that.

Speaker:

Um, you know, uh, uh, when did you

Speaker:

play Grove?

Speaker:

>> RB: Last year. We both went down there with our

Speaker:

buddy Nick Sorkin and. And played Grove

Speaker:

two days. Um, and it was a blast.

Speaker:

It was fun.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Let me know if you need a caddy for the next one.

Speaker:

>> RB: No, you're not caddy. And you're gonna. You're gonna be my

Speaker:

moneyball.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: There you go. Hey, I would love. My goal is

Speaker:

to. And the owner of the course played for

Speaker:

Michael a good bit. I'm like, just let me play

Speaker:

nine holes with Michael. Don't tell him about, uh, anything

Speaker:

about. Put your house on it. Put a couple, you

Speaker:

know, give me about four shots.

Speaker:

Uh, yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: You're gonna kick Michael Jordan's ass. I love it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, absolutely. I'll do it at the Grove. I'll do

Speaker:

it Muni.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Tell me I love it. That is. That's the

Speaker:

confidence we need. Like, I. Oh, absolutely.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I'm kind of jacked right now. Like, I don't.

Speaker:

I'm gonna go hit a golf ball somewhere.

Speaker:

>> RB: Dude, we're gonna play 20. 20, 20 at Pine

Speaker:

Needles here in about two weeks.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yo, that's so funny. You know what? Hey, Alex,

Speaker:

we. When we go into this tournament that we're playing in a couple

Speaker:

weeks, we're all. We're all jonesing for golf, right?

Speaker:

So. Yeah.

Speaker:

Um, and then the first round goes great. Second

Speaker:

round's always at Mid Pines on Saturday.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And for whatever reason, my partner and I.

Speaker:

Which. My partner could theoretically play in the senior

Speaker:

division. He's over 50.

Speaker:

>> RB: He should.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But I love my partner.

Speaker:

>> RB: You and I. And. And you and I could have teamed up this year

Speaker:

because.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: On you. Correct. But, uh, long story short,

Speaker:

yeah, he filled. He filled that spot immediately.

Speaker:

But we get to Mid Pines, and we're. I'm circling back on

Speaker:

Mid Pines, and that is just a great, great

Speaker:

course. I mean, Pep has experience there like no other, you know?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Having a stomachache. And middle 15 fairway. But any

Speaker:

rate, we just never get it done at Mid Pines.

Speaker:

I mean, we just never can get it done. We're always, like, one

Speaker:

over, and everyone tears it up.

Speaker:

Uh, like, and. And so for the last three years, we've

Speaker:

been playing decent at Needles. On day one,

Speaker:

couple. Wonder.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Day two, nothing. And then day three, we're over there

Speaker:

at the Moose Club. We're over at Southern Pines.

Speaker:

But it's A great

Speaker:

track.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, it is true, though, because, like,

Speaker:

I wish they had, uh, the first round mid Pines,

Speaker:

because then you could potentially get

Speaker:

it back or play better. Dude,

Speaker:

everybody takes it so deep at Mid Pines.

Speaker:

Yeah, I think we played, we played with the winners last year at Mid

Speaker:

Pines. They shot like nine under, best ball,

Speaker:

and it was like an absolute show.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, well, I mean, you got those par

Speaker:

fives that, you know, theoretically you could. You gotta get up

Speaker:

into.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You got, you gotta be able.

Speaker:

>> RB: A 4, 5, 6, 7. You gotta take

Speaker:

advantage.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You gotta take it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You gotta be able to make it happen.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, Alex, man, it's been, um, awesome getting

Speaker:

to meet you. And I know you know this is virtual,

Speaker:

but I would enjoy meeting you in human form at some point.

Speaker:

But, um, it was awesome hearing your. Awesome

Speaker:

hearing your story. And.

Speaker:

And we're gonna finish this off here with our standard tap

Speaker:

in segment presented by BET Nardi Golf. Check him out

Speaker:

online@bet nardi.com. pep's gonna ask you

Speaker:

a couple questions here that might, uh, make you think

Speaker:

a little.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I like it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Probably not though, because he doesn't ask good questions. I'm

Speaker:

kidding.

Speaker:

>> RB: Favorite club in the bag.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Driver.

Speaker:

>> RB: Tell us your, your buildup of the driver specs, all

Speaker:

that. Don't.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Don't judge me. It's a, uh,

Speaker:

14°, um,

Speaker:

Mizuno FT Max.

Speaker:

Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I used to tee the

Speaker:

ball up really high, like 4 inch tees, and then I

Speaker:

had a ping that I would just turn up on. Uh,

Speaker:

and that was fun. But I'm getting old now and,

Speaker:

um, you know, um.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, sounds like you're getting better.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, we are getting better, actually.

Speaker:

>> RB: Advice to a younger version of yourself.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh,

Speaker:

don't get married at 26.

Speaker:

>> RB: All right?

Speaker:

Dream, um, foursome, Dead or alive.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: My dad, um,

Speaker:

Aleister McKenzie.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, that's an interesting one.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Pink Stewart. Bingo.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Ah, that's a good one.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I would, I would chew up Alex, uh,

Speaker:

mc. I love

Speaker:

Golf Course in God. I want to one day hit the lottery and

Speaker:

build my own golf course.

Speaker:

I would love it. I love what Core Crenshaw is doing.

Speaker:

I love, um, you know, uh, Radio

Speaker:

Doom coming out in Denver.

Speaker:

Um, and then, uh, yeah, Cory Crenshaw's doing

Speaker:

some amazing work right now, but I mean, Alex

Speaker:

M. Alexer McKenzie. And then, uh,

Speaker:

um, who's the guy? Um.

Speaker:

Aw.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, Tilling House.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Beautiful.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah. You've been there.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, I want to. I've gotten invited and I

Speaker:

just. I got invited, so don't judge me. But

Speaker:

I got invited and then the And I text the

Speaker:

guy back. I'm like, hey, we'd love to, you know, like,

Speaker:

let's m. Make it happen. And then he died.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Terrible.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: We got older. Older member that invited me.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'm like, that's awful.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I definitely wouldn't play Pine Valley.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's a goodie. Um, the.

Speaker:

The last question is, what are you

Speaker:

chasing?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, personal

Speaker:

growth this year? Like, I want to.

Speaker:

Personally. Yeah. I've given up and sacrificed so much for

Speaker:

golf, and I want to make sure that

Speaker:

I am the best human that I

Speaker:

can be, both mentally, physically,

Speaker:

and emotionally. That. Yeah, I can. I can

Speaker:

be, you know, a great head pro to.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Members here at the 500. But I can also,

Speaker:

you know, um, support. Adapt to golf and promote

Speaker:

it, and also, you know, just for me

Speaker:

personally, and just, um, you know, have fun.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Playing golf and showing up to a tournament and not having

Speaker:

that pressure of I can't,

Speaker:

um. And. And just showing up and

Speaker:

having fun. The first two or three years when you played

Speaker:

really good, you know, that was just fun. You showed up.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Good buddies. You play golf and you get their ass,

Speaker:

and we got to, you know, number

Speaker:

one.

Speaker:

>> RB: And that's. I think that's the thing, that

Speaker:

things are always more enjoyable when you're having fun. Even

Speaker:

if it's not going, uh, the way you thought it

Speaker:

would be going, you're having fun, whether it's in

Speaker:

business, life, on the course, in your

Speaker:

relationships.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Just have fun.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Sometimes I get away from that, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And having a team around you is huge,

Speaker:

and having people that you can trust, uh,

Speaker:

because I've gotten through by agents before and

Speaker:

all that, and it's just not fun not being able to

Speaker:

trust your support, you know, team.

Speaker:

>> RB: Right.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, and, you know, luckily, I've been

Speaker:

able to, um, have

Speaker:

less friends, but the friends I do have are. Are

Speaker:

more important, and, uh, their advice is, uh,

Speaker:

more impactful. Um, I know that they're there

Speaker:

for me.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. It's true. Quality over

Speaker:

quantity.

Speaker:

>> RB: I love it, man. I absolutely love this. This is a

Speaker:

blast. And, um, great story.

Speaker:

I mean, it's. It's a great story. It is. It's a. It's a story

Speaker:

of never giving up. And,

Speaker:

uh. Yeah.

Speaker:

So thank you so much for, uh, coming on.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Alex, man, keep doing it, man. Keep. Keep chasing

Speaker:

your dreams. And. And, you know, you're very humble and

Speaker:

successful in that regard, and obviously love your love

Speaker:

for golf, and you're changing the game. You're impacting people.

Speaker:

>> RB: You're.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You're an inspiration to a Lot of people people, man. Truthfully,

Speaker:

so hats off to you and um,

Speaker:

you know, like I said earlier, hope to meet you at some point and, and appreciate

Speaker:

you. You coming on here today.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I. I appreciate y'all. Ah, thank you so much for letting

Speaker:

me share the story.

Speaker:

>> RB: Man. You talk about inspiration, um, but you

Speaker:

also Alex, you could tell he doesn't feel bad for himself,

Speaker:

man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It's no.

Speaker:

>> RB: What he was dealt. And he's. He even said that

Speaker:

he's tried every sport there is. Um,

Speaker:

and he must be pretty darn athletic. I mean, he's.

Speaker:

He's hitting it over 300 one arm

Speaker:

boys, so. Yeah, that's impressive.

Speaker:

Um, first head pro,

Speaker:

um, he was just named head Pro to 500

Speaker:

Club. And I just looked that

Speaker:

club up. It looks pretty sick. So, uh, we might have to mosey on

Speaker:

down there to see Alex in his

Speaker:

spot.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, for sure. No, he.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's it's just like I said a couple times, it's just

Speaker:

very humbling because we, we get out and play golf, you know, and we

Speaker:

all get agitated on little things like that,

Speaker:

you know, but in the grand scheme of things,

Speaker:

you know, there's, there's people out there, not just him, but the

Speaker:

whole adaptive tour circuit, you know, it's like guys

Speaker:

love the game of golf and that's the common

Speaker:

denominator between all of us. But, uh, at the end of the

Speaker:

day, we have, you know, uh, an

Speaker:

advantage, if you will, relative to our body components.

Speaker:

But I mean it's. It's a. If you

Speaker:

watch like I got on YouTube a little bit and watched

Speaker:

some interviews with him. He golf dodge just did a great write up about

Speaker:

him and uh, some videos of his swing. Dude, his

Speaker:

swing is like perfect. Like it is like.

Speaker:

Exactly. Yeah, it's is right on

Speaker:

plane.

Speaker:

So Alex, thanks so much for joining us

Speaker:

here on Chasing Birdies and good

Speaker:

luck with your endeavors in

Speaker:

golf and well, guess.

Speaker:

>> RB: But guess what's right around the corner.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Pinehurst.

Speaker:

>> RB: Pinehurst.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Pine Needles Invitational.

Speaker:

>> RB: Pine Needles Invitational is right around the

Speaker:

corner. I'm coming in with a new dancing partner this

Speaker:

year, Gary Sisson.

Speaker:

Um, so I'm excited for

Speaker:

this and, uh, I know

Speaker:

Neil and Tango are kind of on the cusp of.

Speaker:

They kind of got to do something this year, boys. Yeah,

Speaker:

uh, I can't pull any more

Speaker:

strings, so to speak. Um, get the

Speaker:

boys back in. You gotta make the cut.

Speaker:

So you're gonna feel a little pressure there will be

Speaker:

fun to follow along with that. I'm sure we'll do some content

Speaker:

following the Boys around a little bit.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: We got a great little field too. We got Ryan Mason and Woody

Speaker:

Woodward joining the tournament this year. So those

Speaker:

are two sticks. And, uh, I'm sure

Speaker:

Woody likes hearing that about himself. So, Woody, you're a great

Speaker:

stick. So it's going to be fun, man. Hopefully

Speaker:

Ian and I can make a couple birdies. Um, my boy

Speaker:

ipa, like you said, he should be in the senior division. But you know

Speaker:

what, we're going to champion it this year. We're going to take and we're

Speaker:

gonna run it back and try to make the cut. But I've been trying

Speaker:

to get some practice swings in pep. Trying to stay on

Speaker:

your level. I know you've had a couple times you've got to go out and play

Speaker:

golf. Like you said, Arizona and whatnot. But I've been really

Speaker:

utilizing the indoor hitting phase at the Nemicolon

Speaker:

Golf Academy with Trackman and Jaren's

Speaker:

up there and everything's great. So if you guys

Speaker:

in in the area, north central, West

Speaker:

Virginia, Southwest Pacific or anywhere, really, make sure

Speaker:

you check out Nemicolon Resort in Farmington,

Speaker:

Pennsylvania. Five star all around golf is

Speaker:

amazing. Indoor golf's great restaurants,

Speaker:

the accommodations, world gusto. I mean,

Speaker:

it's just, they're on fire right now. So check them out

Speaker:

online@nemacolin.com

Speaker:

and that is the home of our

Speaker:

2025 Jason Birdies 2

Speaker:

Man.

Speaker:

>> RB: Another shout out I want to give which, um, is

Speaker:

Eric Childers. Like, my man just loaded it

Speaker:

off, loaded us up

Speaker:

for 2025.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: My, uh, guy.

Speaker:

>> RB: The Pro V1. You switched to the Pro V1. You were normally

Speaker:

a Pro V1X. I had

Speaker:

the prototype, uh, for you to try last year.

Speaker:

You loved it into the wind. Um, and you said,

Speaker:

you know what, I'm rolling with this one. So, uh, we're both

Speaker:

using the Titleist Pro V1s. Make sure you go check them

Speaker:

out. Um, I know Everybody uses Pro V1s or Pro

Speaker:

V1x's, so it's not like we're discovering something

Speaker:

new. But I am telling you that Pro V1 ball is

Speaker:

the best ball I have ever played. Uh, the

Speaker:

2025 version. So Childers, thanks,

Speaker:

baby.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, absolutely. Childers, uh,

Speaker:

you're awesome and we appreciate it very much.

Speaker:

And since you're on the shout out kick, I do got to give one more shout out here

Speaker:

to a local guy. Reached out, wanted me to drop something

Speaker:

here on Chasing Birdies. Patrick Oliverio with

Speaker:

Oliveira's Restaurant in Morgantown opened a brand new

Speaker:

Cheat Lake location of Oliveira.

Speaker:

So for the people in West Virginia, I know a lot of you guys are listening to

Speaker:

this podcast. Oliveira's opened up here in Cheat

Speaker:

Lake. Pierpoint Plaza, man, you got to go check them out. It's a great

Speaker:

spot for lunch, great spot for dinner, and the pizzas are

Speaker:

dynamite. Handmade dough tossed in the air. Feels like you're in

Speaker:

New York. So come on over to

Speaker:

Oliveiros and get yourself some. Some dinner here if you're

Speaker:

in town. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.

Speaker:

>> RB: Good for him.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Pretty dope. Yeah. Yeah, he's stoked about it. But food

Speaker:

there.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, but without further ado, my man, I

Speaker:

know that you got to go put your butt in the sand for a little bit,

Speaker:

um, wind down your trip, but

Speaker:

until what? In two weeks?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, we will be back in two weeks.

Speaker:

>> RB: So we'll be back on schedule. We got off a little

Speaker:

bit, but we're back chasing underscore birdies. Make

Speaker:

sure you like it, tap it, follow along.

Speaker:

And you know what? Stay tuned on Chasing birdies, too,

Speaker:

man. We might. We might give a little giveaway. I haven't even

Speaker:

talked to you about that, but maybe we do a little giveaway to give somebody a

Speaker:

spot into it. Um.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Here we go.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So, yeah, good things ahead,

Speaker:

guys. And as always, we appreciate you tuning

Speaker:

in here on Chasing Birdies. And. And this week, if

Speaker:

you're tuning into some golf. The Genesis Open Genesis

Speaker:

Invitational's taking place in San Diego, Torrey Pines,

Speaker:

and the man in is playing this week. We've got

Speaker:

Tiger in the field.

Speaker:

>> RB: This makes me hurt watching him play, but whatever.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So let's see what happens with him. But

Speaker:

without anything else I need to say, again,

Speaker:

appreciate all the love support, listeners. You

Speaker:

guys are great. And thank you to Ally, Emily

Speaker:

Evo at Simpler Media for putting this together. Jacqueline

Speaker:

DiPaterio, Rachel London, for all your social media

Speaker:

help. And you guys have a great, blessed

Speaker:

weekend, and we will catch y'all in

Speaker:

2J.

Speaker:

Hm.
