0:00
so welcome back to another Q&A session
0:02
here on the YouTube channel now I don't
0:03
know what to call this because this
0:05
isn't just asking questions and having
0:08
onew answers me and Abigail here are
0:10
having a conversation and she has pulled
0:12
comments from Facebook from Instagram
0:15
from YouTube and she is asking questions
0:17
that yall have actually commented and so
0:19
I think we need we need something to
0:21
call this little like chat session that
0:23
we've started I guess let's just go
0:24
ahead and start but please in the
0:26
comments go ahead and let us know what
0:27
you have in mind to call this but
0:31
Abigail
Is Van Your Middle Name?
0:34
okay first question is Van your real
0:38
middle
0:42
name
0:43
no it's not my middle name at all um van
0:47
like is my last name it's my maiden last
0:50
name um so van like is Dutch and I if
0:55
I'm correct van means from so you'll see
0:58
a lot of people like like dick van djk
1:01
or like there's a lot of Van something
1:03
or others and why are we laughing at
1:08
me you laughing at dick man
1:13
D that's his
1:18
name do do you know who Dick Van Dyke is
1:21
I don't I I don't I do I I know who it
1:24
is I just this generation caught you off
1:27
guard what a name is it is a crazy he's
1:30
a very famous person okay well it's
1:34
dutch it means from S I guess um and so
1:40
I I get that a lot though I get people
1:43
asking me what my middle name is because
1:44
they think it's van and it's actually
1:47
Abigail which is
1:49
funny so no it's not my middle name
1:52
Abigail
Where Did "Running Springs" Come From?
1:53
is um how did your parents come up with
1:58
the name Running Springs
2:00
um they were running Barrel horses at
2:02
the time and that's how they actually
2:04
met they met barrel racing and so they
2:07
got the running from that but it also
2:09
ties into the fact that the entire Farm
2:12
has Springs like Natural Springs all
2:14
over it and so there's some like have I
2:17
taken you down to the racetrack no I
2:20
don't think so okay well it used to be a
2:22
racehorse farm and so there's a quarter
2:24
mile track that's grassed over now and
2:27
it actually had starting Gates on it and
2:29
stuff when my parents bought it and
2:30
they're like oh sick and then they came
2:32
and got them like that week um but it's
2:36
there's some there there's some by each
2:39
pond that's on the farm like all the
2:41
ponds are Springfed um and then there's
2:43
some up in the woods like I'll have to
2:45
show you when we're driving around next
2:46
time but yeah the golf cart or um
2:50
Abigail has a hatred of the golf cart we
2:51
figured that out that she is spoiled now
2:54
and likes the AC of the of the side by
2:56
side so um no we'll take this side by
2:59
side uh so that you don't hate your life
3:02
on my golf cart so someone asked what
What Time Do You Start Your Day?
3:06
time do you start your morning routine
3:08
I'm just interest to hear
3:12
your not as early as a lot of people
3:15
would think I'm such a night owl and so
3:18
I stay up no I don't go to bed any
3:21
earlier than 12 or 1 like ever and I do
3:23
a lot of my like answering stuff on my
3:26
phone or my computer really late at
3:27
night and so Jen literally these days
3:31
because it's so hot out we've been
3:32
starting earlier and so like you've been
3:34
getting to my house at like 8 and that's
3:37
about I have and that's about when I get
3:39
up honestly uh and we like kind of our
3:42
morning like talking about what the day
3:43
is going to be and and then we go but
3:45
like like the last few like weeks we've
3:47
started riding at the barn at 8:30 in
3:49
the morning so we're taking s
3:51
immediately after yeah so um so I I'm
3:55
not like an early riser I never have
3:57
been it's very hard for me
4:03
sorry what has been the scariest moment
Scariest Moment On The Farm?
4:06
you've had on the farm scariest moment
4:09
probably when um I broke my back what
4:12
happened was I was 18 years old so
4:14
that's crazy that that's been like 10
4:15
years ago maybe I 17 so over 10 years um
4:19
I had this little cow horse named shorty
4:22
that we had bred and he was I don't even
4:25
know if he's 14 Hands like he literally
4:27
was like Gracie he was so small and he
4:30
was got a late start cuz he was kind of
4:31
on the back burner like no one had time
4:34
for him he was supposed to be a barrel
4:35
horse and then he was just so small and
4:38
like not fast and so I took it upon
4:41
myself to break him and that was my
4:43
first time ever doing that and he was
4:45
actually getting like really good
4:48
and I got cocky and didn't lung in one
4:51
day and it was in February and it was
4:52
very windy and all the things and this
4:55
was back when the arena had no it was an
4:57
outdoor Arena it didn't have any like
4:59
like enclosing like it was um panels and
5:04
he spooked at something as I was getting
5:07
off of him and so when I swung my leg
5:10
off of him and I was putting my stomach
5:12
over over the saddle to like slide down
5:15
he spooked and luckily even though my
5:18
foot did stay in the Stirrup I didn't
5:20
fall backwards and get stuck I fell over
5:23
him and so I was on my stomach like okay
5:27
like this is the horse I was like like
5:30
over top of him and um he ran around the
5:33
arena and I'm just like screaming and
5:36
trying to like get him to stop was still
5:38
in the thing yeah but luckily I got that
5:39
free but he like let's say he was
5:41
running around this and I'm over him he
5:43
like ducked in and so I flipped over on
5:46
the other side and landed on my back in
5:49
the it was quarter because it was an
5:50
outdoor Arena it was like really packed
5:52
quarter down which is like small grally
5:55
type stuff mixed with sand and so uh I
5:58
had gravel anded it in my back I broke
6:01
my transverse process and um was in a
6:04
back brace for graduation in prom and
6:07
how embarrassing H yeah it was honestly
6:10
it was terrible and then i' still have
6:13
back problems because I I needed to uh
6:15
qualify for the World show and so I kept
6:17
riding like in my back brace could be
6:21
why you uh still have back pain probably
6:25
probably do you have any other scary
6:28
moments that you think
6:30
would come close to that do do you think
6:32
are you thinking of one in your head I'm
6:35
actually not I'm just
6:38
curious cuz I feel like I already knew
6:40
about that I didn't know like the whole
6:42
story of how it happened right but I'm
6:44
like that's when I feel like I felt most
6:46
scared oh also the the fertilizer truck
6:49
you said oh my gosh yes I will never so
6:53
we like I had flashbacks today cuz we
6:55
had the fertilizer truck going through
6:57
the fields and our farm is very hilly
7:00
very hilly uneven and so when I was
7:04
probably probably around the same time
7:06
like late teenager um usually someone
7:09
gets in the truck with the fertilizer
7:10
driver and tells them where to go where
7:11
we want
7:12
fertilized and it's 300 acres so it
7:15
takes a while to cover it all and it's
7:17
like very I wouldn't call it mountainous
7:19
but I mean till tills Tennessee
7:23
is Tennessee is really hilly and so I I
7:27
think my biggest fear is honestly um
7:29
flipping a vehicle or turning over or
7:32
whatever and so I was terrified the
7:35
entire time there's a comment that
Torment & Misery?
7:37
says just stop using those animals if
7:40
you actually care about them it's really
7:43
illogical considering it is a farm that
7:45
gains profit off of their torment and
7:47
misery what would you have to say about
7:51
that wow um I think if you look any of
7:55
look at any of my animals and think
7:57
they're in torment or misery
8:00
you probably need to like have your eyes
8:01
checked they're they're so well taken
8:03
care of I you don't even know how much I
8:05
just spent today on my horses that don't
8:07
even get ridden on their Chiropractic
8:10
work I had a chiropractor out from my
8:13
horses that aren't even being ridden to
8:15
make them feel better you wouldn't say
8:17
they're being tormented uh no I wouldn't
8:20
I think that's stupid
8:25
um do you
8:29
[Laughter]
8:37
n you said ask
8:39
it but we're not going to put move on
Family History With The Farm?
8:43
explain a little bit about your family's
8:46
history with the farm they said they see
8:49
your grandpa help sometimes too is he
8:51
also a part of like the farm life and
8:53
everything
8:55
so I wouldn't so my my P which is my
8:58
dad's father um was very involved with
9:03
the early years of Running Springs so
9:06
Running Springs wasn't my parents first
9:09
Farm where they had cows and horses they
9:11
actually started out in a at a different
9:13
Farm in Thompson Station and that was
9:16
called Battle Mountain and so at that
9:18
farm which is where I was born my Pap
9:21
was very involved with the cattle and
9:24
helping with the upkeep of the farm and
9:26
whatnot now when we moved here uh you
9:29
know he he loves to help with hay that
9:31
kind he loves to you know every now and
9:33
then come down with the cows um but
9:35
really my
9:37
parents took it such a step further with
9:40
the horse breeding with the cattle
9:41
breeding with the operation of the farm
9:44
um that they didn't really grow up in
9:45
that like it neither one of them grew up
9:48
on like a working cattle farm or a
9:49
working horse farm they both had the
9:53
horse bug and the the the farm animal
9:56
bug kind of out of nowhere so they had
9:59
you know they had parents
10:00
that like like my mom got a pony when
10:03
she was little on their they had 10
10:05
acres and so they had a Pony um my
10:08
grandmother on my dad's side she loved
10:10
horses but it wasn't like a breeding
10:13
operation or whatever so that was
10:14
definitely them that started
What Was Your First Animal?
10:17
it um someone else asked what the first
10:21
pet that you ever got was or animal that
10:23
you got was was it a
10:26
horse Yes
10:28
actually I grew up in a household where
10:30
we always had like five dogs at a time
10:32
um but specifically for me I think I was
10:35
8 months old my mom could not stand it
10:39
that I didn't have a pony and like yet
10:40
because we always they had horses but
10:42
she wanted so bad to get me a pony that
10:44
she like rushed so I was 8 months old
10:48
and she went
10:50
to I think it was Watertown Tennessee to
10:53
like a horse sale and found this little
10:56
skinny Pony and she was a well
11:00
Shetland mix I think and her name I
11:03
called her baby cuz that was the only
11:04
word I could say and so her name was
11:06
baby and she was a little Bay Pony and
11:08
they didn't know at the time she was
11:09
pregnant and so like months later they
11:11
just went walked out in the field and
11:12
there was a little baby out there and so
11:14
she had a little gated baby so that she
11:17
must have been bred by like a walking
11:18
horse or something um a little GED black
11:21
Philly named Lily May and then I showed
11:25
lead line on her and after that cuz we
11:29
had brought her to this area and there's
11:31
so many horse people in this area that
11:32
she became like this little first kids
11:36
or kids first Pony that got passed
11:38
around so there's so many people that
11:40
I'm connected to through the fact that
11:42
they had baby as their first horse too
11:45
and she actually just passed a couple of
11:47
years ago so yeah she was really neat so
11:50
she was how old had to been in her 30s
11:54
when she passed which is not that
11:55
uncommon for ponies cuz it's kind of
11:57
like you know how little dogs live
11:59
longer than big dogs kind of same thing
12:01
for little horses and Little Ponies so
Can People Visit Your Farm?
12:04
she's old can people come and visit your
12:06
farm
12:09
no
12:11
elaborate um on why it's just gotten to
12:14
the point we have to shut that down um
12:16
we've had people trespassed we've had
12:18
people and it's kind of to the point
12:20
where you know a long long time ago it
12:23
was easy to be like oh like this this
12:25
family wants to come out like we can
12:27
maybe make that work but that you know
12:29
once the following grew so much that if
12:32
I open it up one little bit it it would
12:36
be very hard to close that door again
12:39
and we have such liability here on the
12:41
farm there is it's a working farm so
12:43
there's constantly equipment being run
12:45
there's horses that I you know have to
12:48
ensure that I wouldn't want you know
12:50
people that I don't know interacting
12:53
with and um it's also just that we we
12:56
have to live our lives here and so we
12:58
can't just
12:59
have people that we don't know out on
13:01
our property with animals with equipment
13:05
there's just so much that could go wrong
13:07
there's so much we could get sued for
13:09
there's so like it's it's just we can't
13:11
do it so unfortunately no I you know I
13:13
have toyed with the idea of maybe having
13:16
an openhouse weekend like the place
13:18
where I keep wailing like High Point
13:20
does and I think that might be something
13:23
that happens in the future where it's
13:24
like one weekend out of the year and we
13:27
have a certain amount of tickets and you
13:28
know something like that it would take a
13:30
lot of planning and a I don't know we'd
13:33
have to figure that out but I'm not
Is Jonathon Getting A Dog?
13:34
saying no to that when will Jonathan get
13:37
his
13:39
dog good Lord I okay Jonathan has a dog
13:44
and her name's Kimmy okay it's the light
13:46
of his dang life and Winnie and Winnie
13:49
Kimmy is the light of his dang life
13:51
though okay this little five pound Doxon
13:54
I made a post the other day being like
13:56
Oh my gosh I just I'm at that point in
13:59
my life finally where I don't want
14:01
puppies all the time when I was a kid
14:03
you couldn't tell me that I'd ever get
14:04
to that point that I'd ever be like no I
14:06
don't want a puppy ever but I'm there we
14:08
have a three-year-old dog and a
14:10
5-year-old dog that is perfect they can
14:13
they're like
14:15
self they're like self-sufficient at
14:17
this point you know like I can leave the
14:19
house I don't worry about them I'm not
14:20
taking them out in the middle of the
14:21
night and so in that video for like 3
14:24
seconds I was like yeah Jonathan
14:26
mentioned a third dog I didn't say he
14:28
was begging for one or that he wanted
14:30
one and I was like no can't have one um
14:34
I I just said you know absolutely not we
14:36
are totally good because you know
14:38
getting horses and things they're in the
14:40
barn they're not in my house I'm not
14:44
physically like they don't they're not
14:45
on top of me at night when I'm watching
14:47
TV and so everyone flipped out on me
14:51
being like wow really disappointed in
14:53
you I can't believe he lets you get all
14:55
these animals and you won't get him a
14:56
dog wow really showing your trth True
14:59
Colors here Katie people love Jonathan
15:01
they do and I do too but you know what
15:04
like if you saw the amount of four-
15:06
wheed things he gets all the time you
15:08
would
15:09
not feel sad for him with the question
15:12
you sent me you think this is a good
Charlotte's Bloodwork
15:15
like stopping point hold on my new my
15:17
new spy watch tells me I have a text
15:19
message and it says Charlotte's blood
15:22
work breaking news hold on has why from
15:26
the Q&A Charlotte's blood work came back
15:29
with a slightly increased white blood
15:31
cell count so they put her were putting
15:33
her on
15:34
antibiotics
15:37
um can I see my phone so I can actually
15:39
message them back this is like a time
15:42
sensitive thing I got to tell them what
15:44
antibiotics I want her
15:45
on I'm so glad we put her in quarantine
15:48
like that's why they go in quarantine
15:50
because the comes with all kinds of crap
15:52
so what do you think that means she said
15:54
she didn't have any like lymph nodes
15:56
feeling like she had strangles or
15:57
anything which is like really contagious
Advice To Your Younger Self?
16:00
um she probably just she probably just
16:02
picked up something that needs a little
16:03
antibiotics probably nothing serious but
16:05
we're sending it out as like a panel to
16:07
just like make sure okay last
16:11
question what is the most important
16:14
piece of advice you would give now to
16:17
your younger self that's a serious
16:20
question it's Nate's
16:23
question
16:25
um to chill out because it's all going
16:29
to be fine because I grew up with such
16:34
anxiety and I was such like in a ball of
16:37
stress all the time over stuff that I
16:40
should not have been stressing it about
16:42
and there are so many things that I
16:44
hated going through that had I not done
16:47
that I would not be where I am today and
16:49
so if I could just tell myself that it's
16:52
all going to be fine and everything
16:54
you're going through is making you into
16:57
the person that you literally dream of
16:59
being like not necessarily like me being
17:02
perfect I'm not there's so much stuff I
17:04
need to work on but like my job right
17:06
now is what seventh grade Katie would
17:08
pass out if she found out that I was
17:10
doing this you know it's like I am
17:12
living my younger self's dream at this
17:15
moment and so I had such a hard time
17:21
with coping with stress and coping with
17:24
anxiety and just feeling like a ball of
17:27
like like I can't even
17:29
contain how worried I am over everything
17:31
all the time and if I could just like
17:34
save myself from that that would be
17:36
probably the best thing so like just
Outro
17:39
everything's be fine you know chill out
17:42
yeah it's good advice yeah
17:47
just
17:50
so I don't know I think the awkwardness
17:53
of this video is gold
