Hey, it's David. Welcome back to A Changed Mind, a sanctuary for your human spirit, a place where I will remind you each and every episode of the certainty of the goodness of the future. Really looking forward to diving into this episode with you where we're going to be talking about why when we change our beliefs, it oftentimes seems like our external reality doesn't change or even gets more intense and the opposite of what we're desiring. In other words, we make a decision that we're going to have more abundance, prosperity in our life, and then a bill shows up in the mail that we didn't expect, right? Or we make a decision that we want to be in an extraordinary relationship with someone and we've been dating someone who we really, really like, and then all of a sudden they break up with them. Why does it seem like the moment we start stepping into the next level of our own beliefs and of our transformation, that sort of the proverbial shift hits the fan? So I'm going to be diving deep into that, and the good news is, is there's actually nothing wrong. And I'm going to give you a step-by-step process for how to navigate through that really powerfully and really gracefully. If this is your first time here, welcome. We're going to get into it today. So I don't know if you've ever experienced this. I'm guessing you have, but you become aware of a limiting belief. And maybe it's that money's hard to make. Maybe it's a limiting belief that you trust people. Maybe it's a belief that you're going to be alone for the rest of your life. Maybe it's a belief that you're not good enough. And then you do some sort of work where you change that belief system. In our world, we have an amazing tool called the Decision Matrix. If you want to learn more about our tools, you can go to DavidBear.com where it's a really simple three-step process. I've got another episode on this. I think it's back in episode seven or episode eight. Check it out. Where we identify the limiting belief and through the philosophies that we teach, we help you understand that it's a limiting belief and it doesn't feel good. It's actually not true, even though it seemed true. And so if it's not true, then therefore the opposite of that must be true. And so we create a new decision, right? Say for example, money's hard to make, money's easy to make, and then we identify evidence for the fact that the new decision is true. And what that does is it starts to reactivate memories and evidence that have been dormant in your brain that money really is easy to make, right? There have been times in your life where you've observed it, where you've experienced it. All that's happened is in the way that the brain works, you've been paying attention to all the evidence that supports the limiting belief, money being hard to make, and you haven't consciously been paying attention to all the evidence that money is easy to make. And so if we can make that evidence conscious for you, you actually start to change your brain. You start to activate those memories. You start to prune out or drop the old memories, old neural networks that represent the limiting belief. And now all of a sudden you have thoughts and ideas, emotions, actions that actually prove out that money is actually easy to make. And so this is the type of work that we do. But oftentimes my clients come back to me in the midst of doing the work and say, hey, something showed up in my life that represents old limiting belief. I just got fired from my job. How is that abundance and prosperity? I just got a bill from my insurance company that didn't cover some major procedure. Now I owe $8,000. How is that abundance and prosperity? What is going on here? How is it that I've made this new decision and I really felt strong about it and faithful to it? And then life showed up in this way that is just like old limiting belief? Well, that's a great question. And it is really important to understand this concept that I'm going to teach you because it's going to allow you to create momentum in your personal growth. Instead of feeling like you're taking three steps forward and two steps back, you're just going to move forward with the understanding of distinction. The distinction is called echo. So here's how this works. Every experience that is showing up in your life is an effect of what you... So thoughts become thing. Napoleon Hill talked about this in the best-selling business book in the history of all time, Think and Grow Rich. Buddha and Gandhi talked about it, a man is but a product of his thoughts, what he thinks he becomes. Henry Ford talked about this, the man who thinks can, the man who thinks can't, are both right. It's this idea that everything we see in our external reality began with an idea, with a thought that turned into an emotion, that turned into an action, that then produced a result in the world. It just makes sense. So a person had the idea for the light bulb, he then had exciting anticipatory emotions around it, he then got to work doing his thousands of experiments and then produced a result, which was the light bulb. There's just a very practical way of how thoughts and ideas become thing. From a metaphysical perspective, there's another thing going, which is as you have these thoughts and ideas and you experience them as emotion, your entire body vibrates with a very specific frequency, and that frequency is brought out to the rest of humanity. So everybody else has these antennas and they unconsciously receive your vibration, which then translates into thoughts and ideas for them at an unconscious level, that they then take to coordinate and create coincidences and synchronicities to support you in materializing or making physical matter the idea that you have. So not only are you doing it internally, but it's also happening externally. I went really into detail around this on episode three around how thoughts think, so you're definitely going to want to check that out. So you are creating your reality out of your thoughts. The good news is there's a delay. There's a delay from a practical standpoint because you have a thought and then it turns into an emotion and then you take action, and that takes some time, right? If you have an idea, Carol and I had an idea to have 300 people at our first event back 2017. It wasn't instant manifestation, right? We took the thoughts into emotions, took the action, produced the results, did that cycle many, many, many, many times. Along the way, there were a bunch of challenges and things we didn't expect, but we kind of held to that idea. We stayed loyal to the idea and then ultimately we produced the outcome, right? It also takes time as energy is translating into the unconscious minds of other people for all these synchronicities and coincidences, right? Sometimes you desire something and two weeks later you meet someone who has exactly the resource or is exactly the person that you needed to meet, right? So we experienced this across this thing called time. And so what can happen, and by the way, that's a really good thing because all of us have some love, significantly, of negative thinking going on in our mind. And if things instantaneously materialized, we'd have a problem, right? There'd be all kinds of chaotic Marvel comic Avengers style shit going on in the world, right? Cars would be dropping on people, people's heads would be ripped off. God knows what goes on in our heads, right? I'll show you, right? I mean, think about all the anger and the frustration in the world right now. We'd be far less concerned about nuclear weapons than our ability to instantly manifest or materialize. So there's a delay. Good news, right? And part of that delay is also, I think, built into the software code of how the universe works because the universe is also saying, like, you sure you want this? Like how often are you kind of putting your energy towards it? You know, it's almost like it's a safety check in the system. Is this what you really want? Are you sure? Yes, I do. Yes, I do. Yes, I do. So it builds up this energetic momentum, both inside of you and external to you to create the result. But in the meantime, right? So let's say you've changed your money contract, you've made a new decision, but you're in the process of materializing, going from financial insecurity to prosperity and abundance. And that's going to happen over this thing we experience called time. So you might have some indicators of prosperity and abundance within the first few weeks, some more indicators of prosperity and abundance over the first few months, some more indicators of prosperity and abundance, and money is easy to make over six months to a year, right? And then as you hold with it, you look back two years, three years, four years, and like, holy shit, I'm a millionaire, right? I just held to this belief. Life is easy. Money is easy to make. That if I pursue my passion, the energy of currency will flow through to me to help finance my passions, whatever your belief systems are. We've done a separate episode on money and freeing yourself from your family money blocks if you want to check that out. But my point is, you're sort of building up this materialization moment as the invisible thoughts, ideas, and desires become matte or fizzy in the world, they become material, right? That's what we mean by materialization. It's not like a really a woo-woo thing. It's like coming matter, right? So in the meantime, what's happening is you've done a lot of thinking before you made this new decision or you developed. And so those limiting beliefs from before are still playing themselves out in your near-term future, right? In other words, if I make a new decision today around money or relationships or health, tomorrow, what's still occurring for me is the materialization of what I might have been thinking two months ago, three months ago, four months ago, and there was a momentum there. And so when we understand this, it's called the echo. There should be not an anticipation or even an expectation, but an understanding that there could be some things showing up over the next short-term future that are part of the old limiting belief. But that doesn't mean that the new limiting belief isn't working. That doesn't mean that everything that we talk about here on A Changed Mind is BS. That doesn't mean that this idea of like the law of attraction doesn't work. No, it just means that it plays out over time. And what's important is that as you've made a new decision, that's what we call it, or you've established a new empowered belief system that you, Neville Goddard, who was a great metaphysical teacher in the 1900s, used this great phrase that you stay loyal to the new belief, even while you're experiencing the momentary materializations or culminations of the old limiting, right? You have to stay loyal to the new belief. And the way that you do that is you go, okay, this bill showed up from the insurance company. This must have been a part of my old thinking. I know that this is on its way of processing out, right? The less I engage with this and as long as I don't revert back to my old mantra or incantation, limiting belief or obsessive inner dialogue around how I'm never going to be out of financial insecurity and I'm never going to have enough and what if I don't have enough and am I going to be able to pay my rent and how come other people have enough, right? That thing. As long as I don't engage in that and I just allow this experience to happen and I don't feed more energy into it and I continue to feed my new belief by looking for evidence on a daily basis that supports it and also just believing in the invisible until it becomes visible, you'll transition from the old limiting belief to the new limiting. When we pull our attention away from the reality that we're experiencing that we don't want, meaning, okay, you get the bill and by the way, you can go listen to my previous episode about trusting in a higher power. This is going to work itself out just like it always has before. I don't really know how, but I know this bill will get paid. I'm not going to entangle with it. This is not evidence for the fact that I'm going to be financially insecure for the rest of my life. You spend very little time and attention on it. In the same way that what we give our attention to becomes matter, it materializes, the beliefs and thoughts that we give the most attention to and the emotions that we hold most frequently in our nervous system materialize our reality. Well, so too, if we pull our attention away from the thoughts and emotions or the experiences that we don't prefer, they will dematerialize. They will go back into fabric conscious and no longer be a part of you. Again, we experience it over time. There's another component here that's required called what? Patient. But you can't be patient if you think the system isn't working. That will create impatience. And that's really the point of this episode. I want to help you stay loyal to the new beliefs or new decisions that you have in your life. And what can break that loyalty or challenge that loyalty is the near future or near term continued materializations that are an effect of the thinking that you were doing before you got the new limiting. But they are not evidence for the fact that the new limiting belief does not work. They're not evidence for the fact that the universe does not work. They're not evidence for the fact that you're not doing the work the right way. But if you're not aware of that, all of a sudden doubt, which is the real enemy, inserts itself into the equation. And just notice, you'll go back to the old limit, literally with something in your mind that sounds something like, oh, see, I knew it, right? Or even more pain. You'll start to make a judgment of yourself. You're not good enough. You suck at personal development. You're never going to get out of this situation. Other people can but can't. Trust me. I know the inner dial. Both because I had it and after 10,000 coaching, you kind of understand how my thing worked to a degree. So that's the secret to sustainable change. There's some other secrets in there. I talked about it a few episodes ago when I mapped out the entire whole human framework, identifying your resentments, working with your core program, some other pieces. But just at a simple belief shifts level, and you can make radical change in your life just with what I'm sharing with you in this episode, just hold the belief. Let those things that are materializing in your near term that are part of your previous thinking, let them be. Let them be. Trust that they'll work out, right? Allow a little bit of space for the universe, God, higher power to work with you to solve those challenges. Always has. Right? You may not have had enough. Right? Even though you may not have had as much as you want, you're still here. You've got enough in this exam. But you can apply this to your health. You can apply this to relationships, business, clarity, you can purpose, you can apply this to everything, right, in your life. Develop a new belief. Know that that belief will be challenged because everything that I've described, right? You know what? In many ways, it's a blessing because it allows you, when you're faced with the manifestation of the materialization or evidence of the old belief, it allows you to double down on your commitment to the new decision. It gives you an opportunity to do a couple more reps of this new spiritual muscle fiber around this new empowered belief, right? And that's what's required to make it solid. So it just makes sense. This is how the system works. It's absolutely perfect. It's really beautiful when you understand it. There isn't anything going wrong, other than the fact that we didn't understand that we're playing this change in our mindset and how it materializes in our life over time. And there's an echo effect of what we used to believe is going to show up in our near-term future while we're also holding on to and strengthening and fortifying the new empowered belief that we've established. Right? You're kind of living in two worlds at the same time. You're living in the old world that you've created from your previous thinking, and you're going to start to see evidence of the new world that you're creating from your new thinking. Wow! So good, huh? So good. Like I said, if you... By the way, not good for me, but I'm just so good how the universe... I love it. It's amazing. It's truly so loving, and it's fascinating to really get into these deep dive aspects of it with you because I think a lot of what we're talking about intellectually will help tribute to an emotional experience of the thing that is most important called faith. You can have faith of a mustard seed. You can tell the mountain to go from here to there, right? A little bit more faith and a little bit of change in your mindset can move mountains in your life. And that is super exciting. What a gift from our higher power that we don't have to do this thing perfect, but that just incrementally we can make improvements in our connection, in our understanding, and that we get to benefit from those connections in a really beautiful way. Really truly is a kingdom, isn't it? So awesome. Love being here with you today. I hope you're fired up about this episode. If you are, leave me a rating, a review, a comment, share it with somebody else, and I will see you on the next one.
