Speaker A

Welcome to Love Notes from Rhonda.

Speaker A

And let me tell you a reason why we want to cultivate an open mind and an open heart.

Speaker A

One reason that we want to cultivate an open mind and open heart, of course, is connection.

Speaker A

Because.

Speaker A

Because it's very difficult to connect with anyone, anywhere, at any time if you do not have an open mind and open heart.

Speaker A

Because you're gonna have judgment, right?

Speaker A

You're gonna have expectations, you're gonna have barriers to connect with another human being.

Speaker A

So an open mind and an open heart allows you to connect.

Speaker A

That's a big reason, right, to have an open mind and open heart.

Speaker A

Another reason to have an open mind and an open heart is because you are more gentle with yourself and kinder to yourself.

Speaker A

You don't put those same judgments and expectations, et cetera, that you put down others.

Speaker A

You don't put them on yourself anymore, right?

Speaker A

You can see your innocence, you can forgive.

Speaker A

So that's another reason to have an open heart and open mind.

Speaker A

And there's another reason.

Speaker A

Let me tell you this one.

Speaker A

You can't hear your intuition if you don't have an open mind or open heart.

Speaker A

You cannot hear what your purpose is.

Speaker A

You cannot hear the nudgings from, from that thing that's bigger than us.

Speaker A

Whether you call it source, whether you call it God, whether you call it the universe, whether you call it an energetic field, whatever you call that thing that's bigger than us, you could call it your higher self.

Speaker A

You can't hear it.

Speaker A

Because if you're not open minded and open hearted, then those judgments, those expectations, the criteria, the rules that you've placed on yourself in the world will shut that intuition down, will make you doubt it, will not even let you hear it.

Speaker A

So one of the reasons that I think is so critical, besides the first two that I mentioned, this third one, is that so many people come to me because they want to find their purpose, right?

Speaker A

And they know fear's getting in their way.

Speaker A

Or maybe they don't know fear is getting in their way, but they just know that they're not moving forward in the way they want.

Speaker A

And they sit there and they're like, I want to be fearless.

Speaker A

I want to get free.

Speaker A

I want to live my life.

Speaker A

I saw intended.

Speaker A

And one of the things that we all must cultivate in order to actually do that is to have an open mind and open heart.

Speaker A

Because when we do, we can actually hear what is meant for us.

Speaker A

We can actually see things that were invisible to us before.

Speaker A

We actually can connect with others and ourselves in ways that were virtually impossible.

Speaker A

So when you find yourself judging, when you find yourself shoulding yourself, when you find yourself having rules, when you find yourself beating yourself up because you're not doing something perfect or the way you think you should, I want you to remember these words that when you're doing that, you're actually closed minded and closed hearted.

Speaker A

You're closed minded and closed hearted.

Speaker A

When you're judging and having expectations and having rules and judge, all that stuff keeps you closed.

Speaker A

It takes courage, it takes fearlessness to actually cultivate an open heart and open mind.

Speaker A

Now I know somebody might be thinking, well yeah, but that's gonna make me stupid or I'm gonna fall for anything or you know, then I'll do just, you know, then how am I gonna, how am I gonna judge?

Speaker A

How am I gonna make decisions?

Speaker A

Well you're gonna have a different filter, right?

Speaker A

You're gonna create a different filter.

Speaker A

Cause when you're open minded and open hearted, you have a different way to make decisions.

Speaker A

You have access to your intuition, you have access to your whole body, your whole heart, your whole spirit.

Speaker A

You have access to all of you to help you decide what's right for you.

Speaker A

See, because when you're open minded and open hearted, you're willing to be wrong about everything in order to find the right decision, right choice for you.

Speaker A

So where are you being closed minded?

Speaker A

Where are you being closed hearted?

Speaker A

And then decide just like that beautiful poem says.

Speaker A

The poem says, and the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Speaker A

The poet A n a I s last name N I n Beautiful, isn't it?

Speaker A

And the day came when the risk to be closed minded and closed hearted was more painful than the risk to be open hearted and open minded and doing everything you can to stay that way, to expand that, to be more of that open heart, open mind.

Speaker A

Until next time, be fearless.

Speaker A

I love you SA.
