Welcome to Love Notes from Rhonda.
Speaker AAnd let me tell you a reason why we want to cultivate an open mind and an open heart.
Speaker AOne reason that we want to cultivate an open mind and open heart, of course, is connection.
Speaker ABecause.
Speaker ABecause it's very difficult to connect with anyone, anywhere, at any time if you do not have an open mind and open heart.
Speaker ABecause you're gonna have judgment, right?
Speaker AYou're gonna have expectations, you're gonna have barriers to connect with another human being.
Speaker ASo an open mind and an open heart allows you to connect.
Speaker AThat's a big reason, right, to have an open mind and open heart.
Speaker AAnother reason to have an open mind and an open heart is because you are more gentle with yourself and kinder to yourself.
Speaker AYou don't put those same judgments and expectations, et cetera, that you put down others.
Speaker AYou don't put them on yourself anymore, right?
Speaker AYou can see your innocence, you can forgive.
Speaker ASo that's another reason to have an open heart and open mind.
Speaker AAnd there's another reason.
Speaker ALet me tell you this one.
Speaker AYou can't hear your intuition if you don't have an open mind or open heart.
Speaker AYou cannot hear what your purpose is.
Speaker AYou cannot hear the nudgings from, from that thing that's bigger than us.
Speaker AWhether you call it source, whether you call it God, whether you call it the universe, whether you call it an energetic field, whatever you call that thing that's bigger than us, you could call it your higher self.
Speaker AYou can't hear it.
Speaker ABecause if you're not open minded and open hearted, then those judgments, those expectations, the criteria, the rules that you've placed on yourself in the world will shut that intuition down, will make you doubt it, will not even let you hear it.
Speaker ASo one of the reasons that I think is so critical, besides the first two that I mentioned, this third one, is that so many people come to me because they want to find their purpose, right?
Speaker AAnd they know fear's getting in their way.
Speaker AOr maybe they don't know fear is getting in their way, but they just know that they're not moving forward in the way they want.
Speaker AAnd they sit there and they're like, I want to be fearless.
Speaker AI want to get free.
Speaker AI want to live my life.
Speaker AI saw intended.
Speaker AAnd one of the things that we all must cultivate in order to actually do that is to have an open mind and open heart.
Speaker ABecause when we do, we can actually hear what is meant for us.
Speaker AWe can actually see things that were invisible to us before.
Speaker AWe actually can connect with others and ourselves in ways that were virtually impossible.
Speaker ASo when you find yourself judging, when you find yourself shoulding yourself, when you find yourself having rules, when you find yourself beating yourself up because you're not doing something perfect or the way you think you should, I want you to remember these words that when you're doing that, you're actually closed minded and closed hearted.
Speaker AYou're closed minded and closed hearted.
Speaker AWhen you're judging and having expectations and having rules and judge, all that stuff keeps you closed.
Speaker AIt takes courage, it takes fearlessness to actually cultivate an open heart and open mind.
Speaker ANow I know somebody might be thinking, well yeah, but that's gonna make me stupid or I'm gonna fall for anything or you know, then I'll do just, you know, then how am I gonna, how am I gonna judge?
Speaker AHow am I gonna make decisions?
Speaker AWell you're gonna have a different filter, right?
Speaker AYou're gonna create a different filter.
Speaker ACause when you're open minded and open hearted, you have a different way to make decisions.
Speaker AYou have access to your intuition, you have access to your whole body, your whole heart, your whole spirit.
Speaker AYou have access to all of you to help you decide what's right for you.
Speaker ASee, because when you're open minded and open hearted, you're willing to be wrong about everything in order to find the right decision, right choice for you.
Speaker ASo where are you being closed minded?
Speaker AWhere are you being closed hearted?
Speaker AAnd then decide just like that beautiful poem says.
Speaker AThe poem says, and the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
Speaker AThe poet A n a I s last name N I n Beautiful, isn't it?
Speaker AAnd the day came when the risk to be closed minded and closed hearted was more painful than the risk to be open hearted and open minded and doing everything you can to stay that way, to expand that, to be more of that open heart, open mind.
Speaker AUntil next time, be fearless.
Speaker AI love you SA.
