Everything we do is gold.
Speaker BEverything we do is gold.
Speaker BOkay?
Speaker BSo as I was just saying, I'm on the edge right now.
Speaker BIf anyone does anything annoying, I'm gonna.
Speaker ALose it because you came from the supermarket.
Speaker BI can't.
Speaker BYou came from the supermarket.
Speaker BOkay, Now, I'm not worried about you, Keith.
Speaker BYou're like probably one of the least annoying people I've ever met.
Speaker AI'm annoying?
Speaker BI don't expect you to say the same about me, but you are really not an.
Speaker AThat's actually funny.
Speaker AI don't find you annoying at all.
Speaker BReally?
Speaker ADo people find you annoying?
Speaker BI am a really obnoxious person.
Speaker ASome people find me annoying.
Speaker AI promise you.
Speaker BStupid people.
Speaker BThat's who.
Speaker AFuck those people.
Speaker BThose people.
Speaker ANo, but I.
Speaker BAnd that's why we're best friends.
Speaker AThat's why.
Speaker AThat's why we're about to do a podcast about loving people.
Speaker BLoving.
Speaker ALoving all people.
Speaker BLoving all people.
Speaker BSo, Keith, it's.
Speaker BIt's Sunday.
Speaker AIt's February 2nd, 2025.
Speaker BIt's February 2ndnd, 2025.
Speaker AYou can mark.
Speaker BYou had a.
Speaker BYou had an idea and inspiration for today's show.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BBut before we get into it, let's.
Speaker BKeith wanted to go ahead and tell.
Speaker BTell our awesome listeners.
Speaker AOkay, so first thing.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ASo right now you're watching the get you some.
Speaker ATechnically speaking, this is the get you some productions podcast, which is a podcast about music production.
Speaker ABut today we're not going to be talking about that.
Speaker AWe're going to be talking about another brand that we're sort of a nascent brand that we're trying to work on that's more about self help.
Speaker ABut while we're at it, we might as well just say we are usually a podcast all about music production.
Speaker AThis particular show is probably going to appear in both places like.
Speaker AAnd subscribe, leave a rating or review.
Speaker AAnd we all so happen to be reverb affiliates.
Speaker AWe'll leave a link.
Speaker AIf you want to buy music production gear, any type of music gear, you can click the link, but yes.
Speaker ASo I thought that it would be cool if even though we have a bunch of music brands, we had this one self help brand, frankly.
Speaker ABecause who doesn't want to get.
Speaker AOr self.
Speaker ANot necessarily self help.
Speaker AHow about personal development?
Speaker AMore like that.
Speaker ACultivation of your.
Speaker AYeah, so that's why I wanted to talk to you today.
Speaker ASo I had this idea and I've been telling a lot of people about it now called the Masters of the Universe Club.
Speaker AAnd it's really about people purposefully coming together, forming a kind of Group, Sort of like a mastermind group or just a network that.
Speaker AWhere everyone is on the same page.
Speaker AEverybody wants to become the greatest person they can possibly be, but while doing good at the same time.
Speaker ASo I sort of thought of, like.
Speaker AKind of like a little bit of a slogan, in a sense, which is becoming great while doing good or becoming.
Speaker AMaybe that's not so great, but it's like being the greatest you can ever be and being the goodest you can ever be.
Speaker AEven though that's not real English, I feel like that sort of lands a little bit harder.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker AThe reason I'm talking to you today about it is because I.
Speaker ABecause I have a reminder on my phone that says to do something about it every once in a while.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AAnd second of all, because I've been telling people about it, and people are interested, and I have no idea.
Speaker AI need help.
Speaker ASo, actually, the one thing I was gonna say to you is that even though it seems like I'm driving the ship here, I need you more than you need me.
Speaker AThat's the message.
Speaker ABecause I need help figuring this shit out, and I need somebody to be there with me.
Speaker ASo while this happens.
Speaker ASo the problems I'm running into are.
Speaker AFirst thing is when I talk to people about it having some sort of standardized way of messaging, like, they get an email.
Speaker AAfter I have an email, after I talk to them about it, they either get a text or an email saying, this is what we're all about.
Speaker AWe're a community of people.
Speaker AWe want to become the greatest people we can possibly be, but also become the goodest people.
Speaker AAnd we want to make the world a better place, but we also want to make ourselves better.
Speaker AAnd hopefully one will lead to the other.
Speaker AAnd then how to get these people into the funnel.
Speaker AAnd what does this community look like?
Speaker AIs it a Facebook group?
Speaker AIs it an email list?
Speaker AIs it a physical community where people show up together?
Speaker AIs it all those things?
Speaker AAnd not to be selfish, but how do we maintain control over this group so that we're guiding the mission and the values of it while accepting people in.
Speaker ABut how do we.
Speaker AYou know, ultimately, I'd like to actually make money on it.
Speaker ASo what I was talking to you in a priority podcast was a book together.
Speaker AAnd try to get people interested by covering interesting things about the book, but we're also getting better at.
Speaker AWe're covering things that we want to cover for ourselves, like anything that you want to get better at.
Speaker ALet's read the book together.
Speaker ALet's talk about it.
Speaker AOn the show.
Speaker ALet's sell the book through the Amazon affiliation.
Speaker ALet's use the book's cachet to hopefully get more hits on the YouTube channel, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker AMaybe start to do interviews with the actual authors when we get to be good at it.
Speaker BWell, okay, so there's a lot, a lot there and I've known you for a long time and if I didn't interject, you would just keep going.
Speaker BYou just keep throwing stuff up.
Speaker BAnd that's, you know, because you're kind of like, you just, you're a producer, right?
Speaker BNo, it's not going to be in person, not this day and age.
Speaker BOkay, so just put that out there.
Speaker AForget it.
Speaker BHow do we remain control?
Speaker BWell, any, you know, there are certain formats where there's admins, you know, where we would be the admin.
Speaker BAnd then I simultaneously also thought of sort of code of conduct.
Speaker BLike a good admin will set out the code of conduct or the expectations or the constitution of the group or whatever.
Speaker BAnd people read that over and then they join, agreeing to be that.
Speaker BSo that's, you know, that's typical.
Speaker BI see that on Facebook.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BOn some of the podcasts I listen to, they mentioned that Facebook's a little considered a little bit older now.
Speaker BAnd there's, there's other forums, other mediums, other websites, other networks that are maybe more, you know, contemporary or skew younger or more updated.
Speaker BBut at the same time, certain communities are actually better on Facebook because they're a little less volatile, maybe less toxic, a little more open.
Speaker BSo I don't actually don't know.
Speaker BI am old school.
Speaker BSo Facebook, you know, I did my space then Facebook and then I stopped.
Speaker BSo I'm not necessarily know anything beyond that.
Speaker BBut I will say I can rule out in person stuff, I think, and fine day as admins to maintain control, monetizing things.
Speaker BI don't know, maybe that's more sponsors and affiliates.
Speaker BI don't know about anything beyond that.
Speaker BYeah, I do like the idea of using books as a starting point to test the waters for that.
Speaker BAnd we already have a book.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AWe're going to start with the Miracle Morning.
Speaker BThe miracle Morning.
Speaker BAnd then I'd love to consider doing a book on sales since that's what I work in and it's something I want to be better at.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BOkay, that's.
Speaker BWell, that's about 10 things to get through.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker AWell, yeah, so actually, let me, let me stop you for a second because then let's remember what we always said when we first started to get you some productions.
Speaker APodcast.
Speaker AYeah, it was like our motto was, what is the bare minimum we can do and still keep it going?
Speaker AYou know, and I think we've achieved some decent success so far just by having this motto of just keep it going and we'll know we're doing something good or doing something.
Speaker AAt least we're doing something.
Speaker AIf we keep it going, we don't have to do anything perfectly at first.
Speaker AAnd what's the bare minimum that we think we can actually commit to?
Speaker AI think reading the books together, even if it's like a chapter a month or something, you know, or whatever it is.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker AWe could probably commit to something like that.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker BYeah, I think.
Speaker BAnd thank you for bringing it back to some of our founding principles there because.
Speaker BAbsolutely.
Speaker BThe process of just trying this, moving forward with this book, I'm sure we'll learn something in our discussions out of the book from each other, but we'll also learn about the process.
Speaker BOh, this is what doing a book is like.
Speaker BThis is how a discussion has been working.
Speaker BIs this going to work continuing or are we going to want to.
Speaker BIt might open up some doors for.
Speaker BFor our production.
Speaker BAnd we learn as we go.
Speaker BWe learn as we go.
Speaker BSo we're actually good.
Speaker BWe both are in possession of this book.
Speaker BYou've read it, I've read it.
Speaker AYou.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BSo that's good.
Speaker BI have not.
Speaker AI think what I'm going to do is.
Speaker ASo maybe we should just start with the first chapter like we used to do with that other book we did many, many moons ago.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAnd just go chapter by chapter.
Speaker AI thought that it would be interesting.
Speaker AThere are a lot of podcasts about health and a lot of our self, you know, improvement.
Speaker AI thought that it might be an interesting.
Speaker ANot sort of take on it, but just like there are a lot of long podcasts, there are probably lots and lots of really short ones too.
Speaker ASo maybe if we had one that's sort of like we.
Speaker AWe don't spend an hour, but maybe we do podcasts where we go chapter by chapter, but we each pick like one of our favorite quote from it and something we're willing to talk about or something like that and just keep it shorter, like max it at 30 minutes, but shoot for like a 20 minute podcast where it's something that somebody can digest in a slight.
Speaker AIt's hopefully inspiring and helpful, but it's something that somebody can digest.
Speaker AIt's not like, you know, like a three minute or even like a 30 second video that's like completely an insult to anyone's attention span.
Speaker ABut it's also not like the hour long typical podcast where people are expected to tune in for way longer than.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker AYou know, so more digestible.
Speaker ASort of try to find a space where it's like we're giving the marketplace a little something that's a little different.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker AIf we did interviews then we'd have to.
Speaker AWe can go deeper.
Speaker BYeah, that would be interview.
Speaker BIt could be.
Speaker BThat could be a different format.
Speaker BBecause interviews noticed are at least an hour.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd I think that's the beauty of these, these types of long form things is that.
Speaker ASo I don't want to get away from that.
Speaker AEspecially when it's an interview and you're interviewing somebody who really knows the topic right there so they can speak at length about something we are learning.
Speaker ASo we're just trying to bring helpful things to people while we do it and hopefully people will read along with us.
Speaker ASo we've committed to reading the books.
Speaker AI'm trying to think about how I can maintain the group.
Speaker AMaybe it's a Facebook group.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ABecause you mentioned that.
Speaker AYou said there's other.
Speaker AThere's other.
Speaker AI actually was like, oh, no, slack is you have to pay for.
Speaker BThat's a good thing.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AEverything needs to be an email list.
Speaker ASo we need to have our own list of people who are part of the group.
Speaker AI think it actually we should.
Speaker AI think we should try to make the group itself be like a value giver where everybody who's in the group brings value to the group.
Speaker AAnd I think it should be, for now, invite only.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker ABecause I think that what I've been pitching to people is that it's more of a network.
Speaker AIt's more of like a mastermind.
Speaker AAnybody can watch the YouTube video.
Speaker AMaybe we can invite people and say anybody can come and talk about the book if they want.
Speaker ASo if you don't have time to do a podcast but somebody else in the group says, hey, I want to come talk about this chapter, you know, maybe that's valuable to somebody, you know, to get more buy in.
Speaker AI don't, I'm actually just, I'm just spitballing at this point.
Speaker ABut I think the Facebook group is going to be.
Speaker AIs going to be like one place to start.
Speaker AAnd I don't know how to maintain an email list.
Speaker AI guess like I could just do it in a spreadsheet for now.
Speaker BName an email that's.
Speaker BI don't know how to do an Email list either, but I betcha that information's out there.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ALike, what's an easy way to start and maintain an email list?
Speaker AWe have the drip.
Speaker BI'm surprised.
Speaker BI haven't even ever done this.
Speaker BI haven't ever done this.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker BAn email list.
Speaker AHow do you maintain.
Speaker AYou can just do one.
Speaker AI think you can build a Gmail.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BI mean, I would assume it's such a simple thing.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AI've tried making text groups and I've had some trouble adding and deleting.
Speaker AWell, actually, maybe it's because I haven't made them myself.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker ASo what's this?
Speaker BOkay, I'm sorry, I'm.
Speaker BMy Gmail.
Speaker BI'm poking around my.
Speaker BNo, I'm talking about my Gmail.
Speaker BBut I can't do two things at once.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BSo let's.
Speaker BLet's commit to doing our first, like, show.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ALet's just commit to that.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BYou said the first chapter.
Speaker BYeah, the book.
Speaker BWe'll discuss.
Speaker AWhat as it will go chapter by chapter.
Speaker BChapter.
Speaker BBut we'll start.
Speaker BWe'll start there and we can always, you know, we're not.
Speaker BNothing set in stone.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BWe're gonna, like, see how things are flowing and go from there.
Speaker BBut I like your idea of finding a quote or something that pops out some.
Speaker BSome highlight of.
Speaker BOf that chapter.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAs we go, we'll see how that works too.
Speaker BIt sounds good to me.
Speaker BI will commit to doing that.
Speaker BI.
Speaker BYeah, we'll schedule.
Speaker BSchedule to come.
Speaker BObviously.
Speaker BI always have the same days off, so it shouldn't be hard.
Speaker BAnd I have the book already.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker AOkay, so I'll reread chapter one and I'll underline things or I'll put some sticky notes in there.
Speaker AAnd then when I'm ready to go, I'll just let you know.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd then a Facebook group.
Speaker BI mean, you already have a master of the universe Facebook.
Speaker AI do, Yes.
Speaker AI think it's invite only now, so people don't know.
Speaker BOkay, so we already.
Speaker BWe're kind of ahead of the curve there.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AOh, but the reason, by the way, and I've already said this, but the reason I'm bringing it up now is because people are actually interested.
Speaker AAnd so I'm like, oh, shit, if people are actually interested in this, then I think we should just do something, because I've talked to a few people and they're like, hell, yeah, I want to be part of that group.
Speaker AYou know?
Speaker ASo I'm thinking, so here's what I'm going to do.
Speaker ASo we're going to commit to the book, first chapter and here's what I'm going to commit to.
Speaker AI'm going to come up with a text or an email.
Speaker AThen you know how I work.
Speaker AIf I say it on the podcast and then when I'm listening back, it reminds me of the things that I have to do.
Speaker ASo I'm going to come up with either a text or an email or both that basically says, here's the group, here's what it's about.
Speaker AYou expressed interest in the group.
Speaker AFor now, I'm maintaining it as an email list.
Speaker AThere's also an invite only Facebook group.
Speaker AYou can, if you're getting a text, you can share your email with me.
Speaker AIf you're getting an email, you can share your cell phone with me.
Speaker AIf you want to receive texts, you can join the Facebook group here.
Speaker ARight now, the group's invite only.
Speaker AAnybody who's invited to the group has been invited because they've expressed interest in becoming, in having a mastermind group where everyone is working to become the greatest person they can possibly be and hopefully impacting the world in a positive way.
Speaker AAnd that no self development subject is off the table.
Speaker AOn the YouTube channel.
Speaker AWe're going to be covering books that people are, that we think are interesting.
Speaker AWe're going to be talking about them.
Speaker AYou can read along with us.
Speaker ASo just subscribe and then you'll get a notification and when we're reading, you can read along with us if you want to come on the show may not even say that, but for now you can read along with us.
Speaker AYou can see our development journey.
Speaker AYou can take the journey with us and then we can discuss in the group or we can discuss.
Speaker AWe have each other's emails or phones.
Speaker AWe can discuss in person or whatever.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BAnd having the Facebook group means that there's dming, you know, potentially like if someone says something and then you can, either one of us can be like, hey, yeah, sure, DM me.
Speaker BWe can DM and be like, well actually this person, hey, you want to be on the podcast sometime?
Speaker BYou know, you might just realize, oh, this person is like right to say right now and, or connection to an organization or something that they promote, you know, anything.
Speaker BBecause I realize you're right.
Speaker BIt's, it's.
Speaker BThere's a lot of potential and a lot of it's going to go off what the community brings to the table.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BWe'll be leading it and setting the philosophy and the tone and the Admin.
Speaker BBut if we do it right, it should get a life of its own going from participants and members.
Speaker AHave a life of its own.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASo I think.
Speaker AAnd so maybe not for today, but at some point, we have to come up with a really solid, like, modus operandi or whatever.
Speaker ALike you had said, like a constitution.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AOr like a mission statement.
Speaker BMission statement.
Speaker ASo that it's really clear to people that when they join the group, there's no fucking around.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AWe're all here to help each other.
Speaker AAnd it's only positive vibes and, you know.
Speaker AAnd that's it.
Speaker BI love it.
Speaker ACool.
Speaker BI love it.
Speaker BAnd I.
Speaker BThe more I think about it, the more I can see, like, yeah, people want a space like that.
Speaker BThere's so much toxicity and so much.
Speaker BSo many different things pulling you in different directions.
Speaker BJust, well, I have a place.
Speaker BI'll go here in this place.
Speaker BThis whole community is going to be a.
Speaker BIt's a safe place to be.
Speaker AA place to be.
Speaker BIt's safe place to be.
Speaker BAnd, you know, I'm thinking of.
Speaker AYeah, I was thinking even of going crazy.
Speaker ALike, I think a friend of mine.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AWho is.
Speaker AWho is a.
Speaker AI think.
Speaker AWell, I know she's a traditional practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AI think she's a Trump supporter.
Speaker AI felt like we should interview her just to show that we can all.
Speaker ALike, we should take the first step and say.
Speaker AOkay, there's no.
Speaker ALike, you can have your argument on the main Facebook page all day long.
Speaker BYeah, exactly.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AYou can have your argument on the line at the fucking grocery store or while you're pulled up at a flight or when you cut somebody off in the street.
Speaker AYou can have your argument anywhere.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ADo not bring that here.
Speaker AThis is the safe space.
Speaker AYou know, how do you even maintain something that's a scary thing to even say that you're maintaining?
Speaker ABecause there's some things you cannot tolerate.
Speaker BYeah, exactly.
Speaker BSo that's.
Speaker ABut we have to do it to the best of our ability.
Speaker BWe do.
Speaker AWithin reason.
Speaker BWithin reason.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ABut that's how crazy I'm thinking this should be.
Speaker AThis should be like the safest.
Speaker AWell, not the safest place, but it should just be a place where we leave.
Speaker AIf.
Speaker AIf people want to make the world a better place or.
Speaker AAnd they want to get better.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAnd they want to make a positive impact in the world, in their community, or even one to one, if they want to.
Speaker AIf you want to make a positive impact in your relationship with another person, whether it's a friend or your Lover or whatever the case may be, or if it's your kids.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AAll those relationships ripple out as far as I'm concerned.
Speaker BWell, you know, yeah, that's gonna take.
Speaker BIt's gonna take some doing because we.
Speaker BWe are in a divided society right now.
Speaker BBut, you know, I think there is a universe.
Speaker BThere's so much universal shared experience, regardless of who.
Speaker BWho or what needs to be deprogrammed from who or what for this or that, you know?
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BBecause.
Speaker BYeah, there's so much.
Speaker BFor instance, good example.
Speaker BMy close friend at work, Christina, is also a big time make America Great.
Speaker BShe says stuff that I just find offensive and couldn't disagree more.
Speaker BBut we're still good friends.
Speaker BWhen one of us is sick or the other one's sick, we call, check up on each other, we talk about parenting, we share recipes, we share advice on how to improve our performance at work in sales.
Speaker BYou know, like, we have so much in common.
Speaker BThat's what a society is really about is the shared common ground.
Speaker BYou know, like, you get on a bus or a subway, doesn't matter.
Speaker BIt doesn't matter what the driver or conductor, which way they lean in the ballot box or blah, blah, blah.
Speaker BThat's not what they are there for.
Speaker BAnd to make your.
Speaker BTo function, you know, So I think people.
Speaker BI don't want to project too much, but if, you know, I know I have a lot in common with people.
Speaker BI probably disagree with them vehemently about some things, but that doesn't mean Miracle morning.
Speaker BI think, for instance, it could be a pretty neutral thing.
Speaker BJust talk about, like, all this.
Speaker AYeah, a lot of that stuff is.
Speaker BNeutral, you know, and like, I would love to have a place where they could go and then not worry about having to walk on eggshells or whatever, you know?
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker AYou.
Speaker AWhat you.
Speaker AWhat you were saying inspired me to just think of the term that.
Speaker AI think what it is is that.
Speaker AYeah, there's lots of ways.
Speaker ASo your.
Speaker AYour relationship with this other person.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AIs sort of like a good example of how.
Speaker AThere's lots of things that I disagree with in this world, but we.
Speaker ABut arguing about it.
Speaker AI don't think that ever gets anywhere, anyone, anywhere.
Speaker ASo I think leading by example would be the most powerful thing we can do.
Speaker ASo, I mean, I don't even.
Speaker AWe're talking about politics now for some reason.
Speaker AI don't think we should even probably get into politics generally, but it was just like an example of how people are very divisive.
Speaker ABut if we lead by example, by.
Speaker AWe're Just focused.
Speaker AWe have to be singularly focused.
Speaker AHow do we become the best people we can possibly be?
Speaker AAnd we need to lead by example, by being good.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker ABecause I feel like in the political venue has been a really good example of this constant choosing between a lesser of two evils.
Speaker AWhat if we didn't have to make that choice?
Speaker AWhat if it was me and you and we made a decision that not only are we going to become the most powerful, competent leaders in our jobs, families, communities, but we also made a commitment to be as good as possible while doing it.
Speaker AAnd then somebody else, if they're asked to choose, they're going to say, we're going to choose Dan and Keith.
Speaker ABecause they fucking already showed us that we didn't need to choose.
Speaker ARight?
Speaker AWe didn't need to choose these guys.
Speaker ALike, you know, and that's the important thing about making ourselves better.
Speaker AIt's not just about being loving to everyone and being nice to people.
Speaker AIt's also about handling your shit, being extremely competent and becoming like, we need to be rock stars in life.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BYou know, and I think that's something.
Speaker AThat totally down with.
Speaker BWill really identify with is wanting to feel competent.
Speaker BYou know, I mean, who.
Speaker BWho's gonna argue against that?
Speaker ARight?
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AYells book too.
Speaker ABecause that's, you know, I need to learn that too.
Speaker ASo we just have to figure out a.
Speaker AIt just told me my Internet connection was unstable.
Speaker ASo let's.
Speaker ALet's wrap this up anyway.
Speaker BWrap it up, Wrap it up.
Speaker BOh, by the way, I'm watching the Squid game right now.
Speaker BThere you go.
Speaker BI watched the Squid game.
Speaker BHave you seen the Squid game?
Speaker AI've heard about it.
Speaker AI heard it was like, kind of like a freaky and crazy.
Speaker AAnd it's like.
Speaker BKorean.
Speaker BYeah, just, you know, Korean language.
Speaker BSo you can do subtitles or, you know, overdub.
Speaker BWe'd listen to the dub version and it is.
Speaker BIt's actually so.
Speaker BIt's freaky and it's got like that surface.
Speaker BIt's, you know, layers, cool visuals, kind of like this and that.
Speaker BBut when you look deeper, there's like a deeper message going on.
Speaker BHighly recommended, Keith.
Speaker AWhat's the message?
Speaker BIt's extremely violent, though.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ADo you know?
Speaker BJust, you know, it's extremely violent.
Speaker ABut there was before.
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker ACorrect me if I'm wrong, but they play a game, but it's like a death.
Speaker AThe stakes are extremely high.
Speaker AIt's like death or, you know, it gets that bad.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AThe.
Speaker ABefore there was the Hunger Games, there was actually a foreign movie that I watched a long time ago called Battle Royale.
Speaker AIt was Asian.
Speaker BI don't know what I've heard of it.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd so it was basically like hunger.
Speaker AIt was exactly.
Speaker AHunger Games.
Speaker BIt's an old concept, but that's.
Speaker AIt's basically the same thing.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AIs that kind of the situation or is it.
Speaker AI mean, the Hunger Games was about culling, if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker AI think the Battle Royale was kind of the same sort of concept.
Speaker AIt was like.
Speaker AIt may.
Speaker AI'm guessing maybe it was like post revolution or like still revolution China.
Speaker AAnd maybe there was like too many people and kids who did poorly in school got sent.
Speaker ASo it was actually kids too.
Speaker AI guess it was the same Hunger Games with kids as well.
Speaker BThe one.
Speaker BOne child policy.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AThat's why I'm thinking of it.
Speaker AI don't want to quote.
Speaker AI mean, it's.
Speaker BNo, I don't think it's very.
Speaker BA little different.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker BSo Squid Game is going to be a commentary on human nature.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker BHow money.
Speaker BA society based on financial exchange.
Speaker AOh.
Speaker BWhat kind of positions it puts people in.
Speaker BBecause you can be a good person with bad habits.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BOr, you know, or you can be a bad person with good habits.
Speaker BLike vis a vis how vis a vis accumulation of wealth and financial independence.
Speaker BJust because someone is successful does not mean they're a good or bad person.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BJust because someone is unsuccessful does not mean they are a good or bad person.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker BAnd so.
Speaker BAnd everything, it's a spectrum.
Speaker BRight, People.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BThe middle.
Speaker BLike, oh, which way are they gonna go?
Speaker BYou know, like, when pushed to the limit, are they gonna just look for themselves or look out for others?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BYou can't tell until it comes.
Speaker BYou have to drill down really deep.
Speaker BSo that's kind of what I'm taking.
Speaker BTook out of it.
Speaker BSo I thought you might find it interesting.
Speaker AIt's funny that you're bringing this up on this show, on this episode, because this is if in some small way, in our tiny little microcosm, we're almost like we're making a stand to preempt the Squid Game of the future.
Speaker ALike, that's how I'm looking at it.
Speaker AWe're getting like.
Speaker AIt's like, how can we make.
Speaker AHow can we get to a point where we don't have to make that decision, you know?
Speaker BYes.
Speaker AHow can we set up a system?
Speaker AEven if it's our little system, even if it's just our friend group, even if it's just this little community, even if it's just this little Facebook community that in this little Facebook community, we're not making that decision.
Speaker AWe're not forcing anyone to make that decision.
Speaker AYou know, I know it's, like, very grandiose to say that, because we're not solving the world's problems here, but I do think that it's like we are sitting here doing this, but what if every fifth person was sitting here doing this?
Speaker BExactly.
Speaker AYou know why you do it.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker AThat's why you do it.
Speaker BSo I'm gonna read the book.
Speaker BYou watch the squid game.
Speaker BYou watch the squid game.
Speaker ACautionary Tale.
Speaker BSo, yeah, we'll bring it up again once you know what red light, green light means.
Speaker AFine.
Speaker BThat's your secret word.
Speaker BSecret passage.
Speaker BSecret.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker AYellow light means I need to pause to go pee.
Speaker BRed light, green light, red light, green light.
Speaker BOnce you know, that's the password.
Speaker BAll right.
Speaker BOkay, bye.
Speaker ALater, dude.
