My youngest baby girl is a pure athlete.

We don't know where she got it from.

I made it to junior college playing basketball, and I can look at her right now, and you faster than me.

But I want to be a parent and a fan because I know how I am as a coach.

Cause I'm coaching my youngest bro right now.

And I can see it right now.

Like, I don't want to kind of derail them and push him away from basketball.

But at the same time, I want to give him as much knowledge as I can.

But I don't want to be coach and daddy at the same time and trainer.

You know, it's just a lot of basketball and not enough daddy.

And I learned that from your pops, too, because I called him one day, and I was just trying.

I mean, like, in the ultimatum of should I coach him or should I train them?

And he was like, you got to pick one because you don't want to, you know, burn them out because it wasn't a.

A safe space for him to go.

Everywhere you go, you're gonna see daddy.

You don't know if he playing coach or you don't know if he playing daddy right now.

just trying to keep a balance, man.

But I started out coaching and barking the whole game, and quietest kept it was my son.

And I remember thinking like, bro, you just acting soft.

And it wasn't until my daddy said something to me that I remembered.

Brad got so bad, Jay, I stopped listening to him in the stands.

He really had to switch it up and start doing sign language to get his message across.

They have much respect for you.

Just being there, you know, so can go either way, because if you're present and we're not trying to sit here and call our dads deadbeat or deadbeat dads, but it's just a simple fact that, you know, for the listeners that's listening in, if you do have kids that you're taking care of and you do not get the praise and the other parent get more praise.

It's like dealing with the situation I dealt with.

It's not cool on my end because just leaving a kid out there with no guidance, leaving a kid out there knowing that, you know, their dad is not present and don't want them or deal or had anything to do with them, that's a problem I have.

You know, that I can speak on, because I don't want to be a kid that's, you know, looking for a father figure into somebody else that don't have the best interest in their hearts.

And I feel like for the longest that was casing, she had made up in her mind who Mama was to her.

And so since I can't talk down on your mama, that means I have to really sit here and deal with this hurting pain.

And when you praise her and it's like, now Daddy did that.

Now Daddy made a way for that to happen.

But in your mind, it's Mama.

I remember having a conversation with your mom, and she was excited because she sent $2.

And there's nobody that's going to be able to break down to you how to get through to.

Then two, the person that you need to be, you know, apologizing to, making sure she's good is that person that wound you.

They brought you into this world, and she never left your side.

And I ain't gonna lie to you, J, I. I went in on Cason one day, and the problem that.

My biggest problem that I was having with it is she brought this up anytime she got in trouble, anytime I came down on her.

And one of the times I was fed up with it, and I went in and we went on.

On a little walk around the apartment complex.

And, bruh, I don't talk down on you, but it's kind of like how God does you.

He makes you answer your own question.

Like you find out on your own.

I ain't gonna tell you right, but

So I'm asking the question, hey, when your mama did this, hey, but when your mama did that, okay, so how did you get this?

And at the end of the.

The questions, or the end of my anger, rather, she's crying and she really got her answer at that point.

And I went in, and afterwards, I dealt with it a couple of more times, and she just stopped mentioning it all together because don't nobody want to see Daddy get to that point.

But I couldn't hold back.

This was all me.

I couldn't control my emotions.

I handled the situation wrong.

But at the same time, like, you don't understand how much it hurts that I'm telling you you in trouble for not cleaning your room.

I'm telling you you're in trouble because you weren't paying attention in class or you was.

My baby ain't the talker.

She laughed at everything.

So you was laughing in class.

So now you're part of the class clowns because you was laughing.

And so I'm getting on you, but instead of you just taking the.

Who been here the most for me, like, who got my back 100, and that's me as the parent that's stepping in.

You got to look around and see who really got your best interest in your heart and who's there for you 100 of the time.

I mean, it's been done.

I had some nights, and I. I ain't gonna lie.

I went down that road with you, too.

Like, with my oldest.

Like, I. I went down that road with her.

I had to really break it down, too, and let her know.

Like, look, man, I don't.

I don't get your.

Your actions, your, you know, your.

Your thought process about life and how you treat your parents.

Because in the Bible, Dominique, where, you know, if you did not disobey, but it is.

If you treat your parents a certain way, you know, that's the years knocked off your.

And it's simply like everybody believes that their parent is blocking them from fun and you blocking me from living my life.
