Speaker:

This podcast is for you, the Modern Man. I'm Dr Anne Truong,

Speaker:

your host. I'm an intimate health medical doctor and best

Speaker:

selling author of the book, Erectile Dysfunction Fix. I'll

Speaker:

do a deep dive into sexual health and performance and how

Speaker:

it affects men of all ages and backgrounds. So let's get

Speaker:

started, and be sure to visit my website at

Speaker:

sexualhealthformenpodcast.com for more information and

Speaker:

resources from the show. See you on the inside.

Speaker:

Hey, Modern Man. Are you struggling with erection and

Speaker:

wondering if low testosterone is the reason? You're not alone.

Speaker:

Testosterone plays a big role in your sex life. But the

Speaker:

connection to erection is not as simple as most people think. In

Speaker:

this video, I'll break down the real link between low

Speaker:

testosterone or low T and erectile dysfunction, and what

Speaker:

you can actually do about it. Now, men, low T can happen in

Speaker:

your 30s, your 40s, even in your 20s. So it's not just a problem

Speaker:

of getting older. And that don't think when you get older, your

Speaker:

testosterone level drop, not necessarily. I've seen men in

Speaker:

their 70s having testosterone level at 700 and 800 naturally.

Speaker:

I'll explain the science of what really happened with your T as

Speaker:

you get older, and what you can do to increase your testosterone

Speaker:

as well. So stay tuned to the end. I'll talk about all the

Speaker:

strategy that you need to do.

Speaker:

What is testosterone and what does it do? Testosterone is key

Speaker:

in increasing your sex drive or your libido, and it gives you

Speaker:

energy. It also helps men with their mood as well too, so you

Speaker:

feel more stable. Men that have low testosterone feel anxious,

Speaker:

feel depressed, and if you have low testosterone, also help

Speaker:

build your muscles as well. However, I want to stress that

Speaker:

testosterone is not the only factor for erection. There are

Speaker:

other factors for erection that I talked about, which is blood

Speaker:

flow, nerve and hormone but they all are part of the big pie.

Speaker:

So what are signs of low testosterone? Low testosterone,

Speaker:

mean decreased sex drive, tired or low energy, mood changes,

Speaker:

such as anxiety, depression, irritability. Muscle loss,

Speaker:

meaning you go to gym and you can't seem to build muscle. You

Speaker:

could be working out three hours every day, but testosterone

Speaker:

level is low, you may not develop the muscle that you want

Speaker:

to develop, like your pecs or your biceps and your triceps.

Speaker:

And in fact, if you have low testosterone, you tend to gain

Speaker:

weight and you tend to develop fat in the love handles and also

Speaker:

fat in the breast. Now, however, not every man with ED has low T,

Speaker:

but if these signs are present, you need to test your

Speaker:

testosterone. It can be easily tested in your blood, and I'll

Speaker:

discuss about that as well. So when you have low T, it can

Speaker:

lower your desire or your libido, will make it harder to

Speaker:

initiate kind of like being in the mood or arousal. Remember, I

Speaker:

say that the largest sexual organ is your brain, not your

Speaker:

penis. If your brain isn't going to get started, nothing going to

Speaker:

get started. And that is the essential part of our Get Hard

Speaker:

System. It's focusing on mindset, focusing on decreasing

Speaker:

stress, focusing on the moment. If this doesn't get moving,

Speaker:

nothing will get moving below the belt. So what happened is

Speaker:

that when you have arousal, it will stimulate the hormone to be

Speaker:

released in the brain, which will release testosterone. So

Speaker:

there are the cascade of hormones that happen in the

Speaker:

brain, and then testosterone is decreased. So if you are not

Speaker:

aroused, then the hormone will be released less and therefore

Speaker:

weaker erection, because when no hormones is released in your

Speaker:

brain. So testosterone is actually being released in your

Speaker:

testicles. But there are father of testosterone, which is LH, a

Speaker:

luteinizing hormone, which is then to release. But if it's not

Speaker:

released well, then it's going to affect the testosterone

Speaker:

release. And then also releasing of hormones in the brain will

Speaker:

also affect other chemicals, which then affect nerve to

Speaker:

stimulate from the brain down to the spinal cord into the penis.

Speaker:

If the hormone is not being released well, then the nerve is

Speaker:

not getting activated either. So that's why the whole chain is

Speaker:

not happening to get an erection.

Speaker:

Men, if you want stronger erection naturally, try my Good

Speaker:

Morning Wood Smoothie. Grab the recipe in the link below, or go

Speaker:

Speaker:

within weeks, grab this now!

Speaker:

So testosterone also support increased nitric oxide

Speaker:

production. A nitric oxide is important for blood vessel to

Speaker:

open up so you can get more blood flow down there. However,

Speaker:

I want to stress that low T does not equal, automatically equal

Speaker:

ED. It increases your risk of getting ED, along with other

Speaker:

factors like blood flow, lifestyle that I mentioned

Speaker:

earlier. But it's not the only reason. I want to stress that.

Speaker:

So you know that you can test your testosterone level in the

Speaker:

blood test, go get your total testosterone, because total

Speaker:

testosterone attach your testosterone that is free as

Speaker:

well as the one that's bound to protein or albumin. But the free

Speaker:

testosterone is what is bioavailable that actually goes

Speaker:

into the cell to initiate for cellular response. So that's

Speaker:

free testosterone. So you gotta make sure you get total

Speaker:

testosterone, free testosterone, and sex hormone binding globulin

Speaker:

or SHBG, because you don't get SHBG, then we don't know how

Speaker:

much free testosterone you have. You want to check your thyroid,

Speaker:

so get a TSH level. You want to check prolactin. But you also

Speaker:

want to check to see if you're predisposed for diabetes, so get

Speaker:

a chem 14 panel. And you also want to check your cholesterol

Speaker:

level, so you want to get a lipid panel as well. And you

Speaker:

also want to get a CBC, which is your blood count level. So these

Speaker:

are the complete hormone panel that you need to be getting to

Speaker:

evaluate the whole picture of testosterone.

Speaker:

Now, one of the most important hormone is the cortisol.

Speaker:

Cortisol is very important because cortisol is released

Speaker:

when you are stressed. But unfortunately, cortisol cannot

Speaker:

be measured in the blood. And cortisol is best measure in the

Speaker:

saliva, where you measure cortisol level four times, in

Speaker:

the morning at 7am, and at noon, at 3pm, and also at 10pm. It

Speaker:

should see the level. It goes up in the morning, but then it

Speaker:

gradually goes down to almost nothing at the end of the day.

Speaker:

If it stays high, then you have stress, and that high cortisol

Speaker:

will actually decrease testosterone level. So that's

Speaker:

one thing to consider as well, too.

Speaker:

Now testosterone levels arrange it and how it's measured.

Speaker:

Sometimes it's measured in nanogram per deciliter, and

Speaker:

sometimes it's measured and picogram. Gotta make sure that

Speaker:

you look at the numbers and you go to the same lab every time,

Speaker:

and the ranges are usually between 300 to 900 a nanogram

Speaker:

per deciliter. So you need to do a comprehensive health panel,

Speaker:

not just one number, and that's it.

Speaker:

Let's say you have low testosterone, what can you do?

Speaker:

You can do some lifestyle fixes, such as sleep, optimizing your

Speaker:

sleep seven hours at night, because when you're sleeping is

Speaker:

when testicles start making more testosterone. Losing weight or

Speaker:

exercise. Because when you follow the Mediterranean diet

Speaker:

and exercise, you actually will lose weight. So when you lose

Speaker:

weight, your testosterone level will increase. When you sleep,

Speaker:

your testosterone level will increase. When you decrease your

Speaker:

stress, testosterone level will increase. And if you eat a

Speaker:

Mediterranean diet, your testosterone level will

Speaker:

increase. If you exercise 30 minutes, three or four times a

Speaker:

week, your testosterone level will increase.

Speaker:

Okay, modern man. If you're struggling with weak direction,

Speaker:

low energy, the food you eat could be the big part of the

Speaker:

problem. One of the best research pathways to boost

Speaker:

circulation, support healthy testosterone and improve sexual

Speaker:

performance is the Mediterranean diet. It's packed with food that

Speaker:

open up your blood vessel, lower inflammation, and fuel your

Speaker:

hormone, naturally. I've seen men notice real improvement in

Speaker:

both energy and erection within weeks when they shift to this

Speaker:

style of eating. So check out the Mediterranean diet link

Speaker:

right here below, and get that as soon as you can. Stronger

Speaker:

testosterone and better erection.

Speaker:

And think about taking testosterone supplement. My

Speaker:

libido plus supplement here has the D, the zinc and the

Speaker:

magnesium that will help boost your testosterone. And I usually

Speaker:

help combine that with nitric oxide, which will help with

Speaker:

increasing blood flow. So the other option is getting

Speaker:

testosterone replacement therapy, which I advocate if you

Speaker:

are no longer thinking about having children, because one of

Speaker:

the side effects of testosterone replacement therapy is that it

Speaker:

decreases sperm count, and also the side effect is that it does

Speaker:

make your testicle smaller, and it will also increase your red

Speaker:

blood cells level. But that's easy to correct. You just go

Speaker:

donate blood about every two months, and that should be taken

Speaker:

care of. My husband's on testosterone replacement

Speaker:

therapy. In fact, he takes pellets, and when he have high

Speaker:

red blood cell count, he just schedule himself to go donate

Speaker:

blood about every two months or so. And as good as that, he had

Speaker:

all negative blood, so he's a universal donor. So you're not

Speaker:

only helping yourself, but you're also helping other people

Speaker:

that need blood as well. So check out my video here I did in

Speaker:

the past on blood test for testosterone.

Speaker:

So if you're dealing with low T, know the symptom and know your

Speaker:

option, what you need to do. You don't have to live with it.

Speaker:

You're not doomed. With the right steps, many men can

Speaker:

restore both testosterone level and erection. For simple daily

Speaker:

boost, I created the Good Morning Wood smoothie packed

Speaker:

with nutrients that both support testosterone and circulation.
