Hello happy humans, and welcome back to the Choosing Happy Podcast.
Speaker AI'm Heather Masters and today we're on day five of our Breaking Patterns miniseries, right in the heart of international Coaching week.
Speaker AYou've been doing an incredible work this week.
Speaker AIf you've been taking part and I, I'm really proud of you if you're starting to feel shifts and you've actually done the work.
Speaker ABecause we're on a seven day journey to break free from a pattern or a problem that's been holding you back.
Speaker AWhether you're a techie, an entrepreneur, a normal person or a creative.
Speaker ASo far we've identified your pattern, interrupted the pattern, and reframed the limiting beliefs around the pattern.
Speaker AAnd today we're diving deeper with an NLP technique called parts integration.
Speaker AOne that I think's magic and it's designed to resolve the inner conflict that could be keeping your pattern alive.
Speaker ASo stay tuned and let's get started with this episode of the Tutor Happy Podcast.
Speaker AHello and welcome to the Choosing Happy Podcast.
Speaker AThis is day five of the Pattern Breaking episodes.
Speaker AI just wanted to reflect on yesterday.
Speaker AI mentioned something yesterday about choosing a day different voice.
Speaker AIf, if you've got a voice in your head that sort of holds the pattern there or is, you know, repeating thoughts that are unhelpful to you, then to kind of name them and give them a squeaky voice.
Speaker AWhat I did, and this is just something I thought I'd share, is I called my anxiety Alan.
Speaker ASo it's all anxiety.
Speaker AAnd what that brings up for me is a immediate remembering of a video.
Speaker AIt's a BBC video and it's funny talking animals.
Speaker AAnd there is this, I think it's a chipmunk shouting Alan.
Speaker AAnd it just immediately shifts the, the weight that I give to that voice in my head because it just reminds me of that.
Speaker ASo that's something, you know, you can, I'll put the, the link to the video because maybe, you know, there's something in there that you can use as well.
Speaker ABut today we're looking at something that I think is really powerful and magical.
Speaker AAnd for me, one of my favorite techniques in nlp, neuro linguistic programming.
Speaker ASo if you've ever felt torn, like part of you wants to break free from a pattern, but another part is holding on or you have trained to make a decision and part of you wants to do it and part of you doesn't want to do it.
Speaker ASo something like wanting to stop procrastinating and write that book, but another part fears the judgment, or part of you wants to go on holiday.
Speaker AAnd part of you doesn't think you deserve it yet.
Speaker AMaybe it feels you haven't worked hard enough.
Speaker AA part of you wants to be successful, but the other part feels you haven't struggled enough to be successful.
Speaker ASo these are inner conflicts and can and can be the thing that keeps our patterns stuck.
Speaker AAnd in neuro linguistic programming we call these parts, they're different aspects of your unconscious mind, each with a positive intention, but pulling you in the opposite direction.
Speaker ASo what I mean by that, the positive intention, for instance, of procrastinating, we know the other part fears judgment.
Speaker ASo you want to stop procrastinating, you want to move on.
Speaker AYou can see yourself moving on.
Speaker ABut this part of you that fears the judgment and that fear the positive intention, is to keep you safe.
Speaker AIt's pulling you in that opposite direction because it wants to keep you safe.
Speaker AAnd parts integration is a powerful technique that brings these parts together, aligning them so they work as a team towards your highest good.
Speaker AIt's like getting two best friends who've been arguing for years to finally hug it out and support each other.
Speaker AWhen your parts are integrated and aligned, the conflict dissolves and your pattern or problem can start to fade.
Speaker AFor me, it was the magic of parts integration that got me hooked.
Speaker AAnd wanting to know more about neuro linguistic programming and to continue to train and explore the fascinating ways that we can work with our conscious and unconscious minds and beyond while aiming for that integration and alignment.
Speaker ANow I'm just going to walk you through an example of parts integration.
Speaker AI encourage you, if you want to try parts integration, to maybe find a full demo somewhere or to work with a coach.
Speaker AIt's something I'll walk you through in The Breaking Patterns 3 Month Coaching Program that's available.
Speaker AYou can find all of the details of that in the link below.
Speaker ABut the early bird offer closes on the 19th, so I do encourage you to, if you're interested, to take a look at that pretty soon.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ASo parts integration to resolve conflict and inner conflict.
Speaker AWhat we would do is find a quiet space where not only can you focus, but you won't be interrupted.
Speaker AIt's kind of a, you have to finish this for it to work.
Speaker ASo you know you don't want to finish it halfway through and not have resolved the conflict.
Speaker ASo it's really important to complete this exercise fully.
Speaker AAnd what I do is ask you to close your eyes if it felt comfortable for you and to just relax, take a breath, get centred, feel your feet on the floor, really tune in to that conflict and to think of again, maybe the pattern we've been working with this week.
Speaker ASo I know that we're all very good at tuning into that at the moment.
Speaker ASo if it's procrastination, overworking or self doubt, and self doubt is a really good one to do.
Speaker ASo if we notice that in a conflict and we know that one part wants to change, but the other part is holding on.
Speaker ANow what I'd ask you to do is hold your hands out in front of you, palms up, so that your elbows are kind of into your sides and your hands are out in front of you.
Speaker AAnd I then ask you to ask the part of you that wants to keep the pattern to come out and stand on the palm of your right hand.
Speaker AAnd then the part that is okay and just wants to break free, the part that maybe longs for freedom or success to come out and stand on your left hand.
Speaker AI'd then ask you to look at the parts and the part on your right hand, the part that's wanting to hold onto the problem or the pattern, I'd ask you to give it a name if it reminds you of someone, to give it a name.
Speaker AIf.
Speaker AIf it reminds you of something, to give it a name so that you've got a kind of an association with this path.
Speaker AAnd the other part on your left hand, I'd ask you to look at that and give that a name and just absorb maybe who or what that reminds you of.
Speaker AThen we'd start with the part that's the positive part, if you like, the part that wants you to break free, wants freedom or success, and really, truly supports you.
Speaker AAnd we'd speak to that part and ask it what its highest intention is.
Speaker AWhat's the positive, highest intention for you?
Speaker AAnd I'd use your name.
Speaker AAnd it may say that it wants freedom, it wants success.
Speaker AIf it said something like it wants success, I'd ask again, and what's the highest positive intention of success?
Speaker AAnd then you'd come up with freedom.
Speaker AWhat's the highest positive intention of freedom?
Speaker ATill we've got the highest positive intention.
Speaker AAnd with the part that already supports you, that shouldn't take long at all.
Speaker AWith the other part we do the same.
Speaker ASo what's the highest positive intention of and whatever that pattern is?
Speaker ASo if it's procrastination, what's the highest positive intention procrastination for?
Speaker AAnd your name.
Speaker AAnd if it says I'm keeping you safe, I'd ask again, what's your.
Speaker AWhat's the highest positive intention of safety.
Speaker AAnd we'd go on and on asking what the highest positive intention is.
Speaker AAnd there might be a loop.
Speaker AAnd this is why working with a coach is a really good thing, because you might find that there's a loop.
Speaker ASo if we said safety, you might say, the highest positive intention of safety is preservation.
Speaker AAnd it's the same thing.
Speaker ASo what's the highest intention of preservation?
Speaker AYou might come back to safety.
Speaker ASo you're looping.
Speaker AAnd the idea then is to have someone experienced enough to say, okay, so what's the highest intention of preservation and safety?
Speaker AWhat's higher than that?
Speaker AAnd that's where you might be confused.
Speaker AAnd there might be a bit of pausing, and that's breaking the neurological boundary.
Speaker ASo that has to go beyond that core intention that it holds at the moment.
Speaker AAnd so it might go.
Speaker AThe highest intention of safety is successful.
Speaker AAnd the idea is you'll see that both parts ultimately have the highest positive intention for you.
Speaker AAs you're working through this process, you probably notice that your hands are slowly coming together unconsciously.
Speaker AAnd as you get to that highest intention, you probably notice that your hands are actually touching.
Speaker AAnd you imagine that these parts are merging together into one.
Speaker AYou can.
Speaker AIf they're not, you know, they're not quite there, they're not quite touching.
Speaker AYou can ask the parts if they want to talk to each other, if there's anything they want to say to each other in order to support each other in coming together.
Speaker AAnd then notice them blending and merging together.
Speaker AAnd then bring them into your heart, into your chest, and sit with that energy of them merging into the wholeness of who you are.
Speaker AYou can think, I am whole, aligned and free, and then notice how you feel that conflict.
Speaker AHas it gone?
Speaker APossibly.
Speaker AIt's such a powerful technique.
Speaker AAs I say, it's really best done with a coach.
Speaker ABut it's such a powerful technique.
Speaker AYou probably feel the energy in your body shifting, especially if it's a big part that's kept you stuck for a while.
Speaker AYou'll probably feel that energy moving for a while after you've completed the technique.
Speaker AIt really is a huge step towards breaking patterns by integrating conflicting parts.
Speaker AAnd we can have quite a few conflicting parts, and it's almost a continuous process to.
Speaker AWhen we recognize that we've got these parts to take the time to go through the process.
Speaker AOnce you've done it with a coach, they can show you how to use this process for yourself.
Speaker AIt is more useful to do it with a coach because when, you know, when you get to that looping part.
Speaker AIt's really good to have someone to guide you through that and to work with your unconscious mind.
Speaker ANow, before we wrap up, let's talk about consistency.
Speaker AI just mentioned that finding these parts and consistently using this process can make a big difference in your life.
Speaker AAnd breaking patterns and releasing problems isn't a one time thing.
Speaker AIt's about creating a habit of checking in to nurture your mindset and your mental health.
Speaker AYour mental health, like your physical health, needs continuous work.
Speaker ASo setting aside some time each week just to check in and see if there's anything that's happened through the week that maybe have triggered something or that there's something that's come up, maybe a part's come up that you were weren't aware of before and taking your time to release it.
Speaker AThe other thing is about managing your state and that's really on a daily basis.
Speaker AAnd we'll cover that again in the three month pattern breaking course.
Speaker ABecause we're going to look at parts, we're going to look at patterns, we're going to look at problems and we're going to look at consistency as well, of keeping a consistently positive state and consistently working with patterns and things that pop up and that we become aware of and that we can let go of.
Speaker AAnd one of the other things is keeping a consistent mindset of focusing on the future.
Speaker ASo for instance, with the parts integration, generally you can't even remember what the part was once you've actually gone through the process.
Speaker ABut going back to look for the problem after you've done the work tends to, as I said earlier, we have to recreate the problem by thinking about it.
Speaker ASo if we go back to look for it, we can quite easily, after you know, a couple of times of digging around to see what's happened to this problem, recreate it again.
Speaker ASo it's about the, the consistency of choosing a different focus and a belief that it has gone and it's not going to return.
Speaker ASo join me tomorrow for day six where we'll use a hypnotic visualization to step fully into your new pattern free self.
Speaker AWe'll also that anchoring that I kind of skipped again today.
Speaker AAnd remember, you can listen on any podcast app.
Speaker AAnd if you're ready to go deeper, remember I'm offering the pattern Breaker coaching program until May 19th.
Speaker AThere's a special offer, a special price is 20% off and for the first few people they get an extra month with me as well.
Speaker ARemember that consistency turns these practices into a lifestyle.
Speaker ASo you're not just breaking patterns, but building a foundation for lasting happiness and resilience.
