Speaker A

Welcome to the Elevated Edit, the weekly reset for ambitious women who are done with chaos and ready to actually follow through.

Speaker A

I'm your host, Blakely Ramsey, strategist, systems girl and execution coach for entrepreneurs who want structure that sells in a business that feels like peace.

Speaker A

Here, we don't chase hustle.

Speaker A

We edit what matters.

Speaker A

Let's get into it.

Speaker A

Today, we are going to talk about something that most people don't want to admit.

Speaker A

But growing in public is really uncomfortable.

Speaker A

It is awkward, it is embarrassing, it can make you look scattered and all over the place.

Speaker A

But it is also the fastest way to get where you're going.

Speaker A

In today's episode, I am giving you a raw check in on what's going on behind the scenes, including, and this is important, why I am scaling back the Elevated Edit to one podcast episode per week.

Speaker A

Yes.

Speaker A

It's going to be released on a Tuesday.

Speaker A

And I'm going to tell you what that says about real commitment, not performative consistency.

Speaker A

If you are navigating pivots, identity shifts, or any big goals that feel unclear, this episode is going to be for you.

Speaker A

Okay, yes, I could have announced it.

Speaker A

Yes, I could have been a little bit more strategic, but the podcast is going to go to one episode per week.

Speaker A

This has been coming, I think, for quite some time, but you get stuck in a rut.

Speaker A

You know, you're just like, oh, well, this is what I do.

Speaker A

I release three podcast episodes per week, and that's just what is needed.

Speaker A

But I will admit, three podcast episodes a week is very difficult, especially now that it is four podcast episodes per week.

Speaker A

Because I have launched the second podcast, the icon Agent 4 is a lot.

Speaker A

It is a whole lot.

Speaker A

And I have mentioned before, but I was getting to the point where.

Speaker A

So this podcast was supposed to be something just enjoyable, something to really be a scrapbook of sorts of my personal growth.

Speaker A

I didn't know which direction I was going to go this time last year, but I knew there was going to be a shift and I wanted to document it and I wanted to bring you along with me in case you are in a season of growth or a season of change or in a season where you are wanting to grow or wanting to change.

Speaker A

And when I decided to go to three episodes per week back in maybe December, it was for multiple reasons.

Speaker A

So credibility, you know, I wanted to get to that coveted 100 podcast episodes.

Speaker A

I'll be super honest.

Speaker A

Like, when I look at a podcast and they have a hundred episodes, I'm like, oh, wow.

Speaker A

You know, they're.

Speaker A

They're in the game, they're doing the thing.

Speaker A

I mean, I wanted to get to that number as quickly as possible, just full transparency.

Speaker A

And also this podcast, of all of the amazing things that have come from it, my personal growth has been the biggest thing that I have gotten from this podcast.

Speaker A

Because.

Speaker A

Because, you know, researching episodes and editing episodes and, you know, revising episodes and re recording, it has been truly transformational for me, just in terms of.

Speaker A

I probably have learned more from this podcast than you have, truly.

Speaker A

You know, I.

Speaker A

Every single week, especially if I am speaking on theory or speaking on something that needs evidence, I really do try to dig deep into the research, and I have learned so much, and I think I needed that.

Speaker A

You know, I needed something to keep me consistent the first half of this year and something to stretch me and make me really uncomfortable and force me to grow.

Speaker A

And that's exactly what the podcast did.

Speaker A

There were several weeks this year where I kind of didn't have anything going on.

Speaker A

You know, I had a hundred things that I could do, but I didn't have anything that was necessary of me to do.

Speaker A

And having the podcast really forced my hand in being consistent.

Speaker A

So I am truly forever thankful for that.

Speaker A

But there are a lot of things pivoting in the business for me and a lot of things pivoting in my personal life.

Speaker A

All good things.

Speaker A

And this quarter in particular is going to be a big one.

Speaker A

So I feel like Q1 of 2025, I was kind of exposed to what was possible for me.

Speaker A

You know, I met new people that had different mindsets and had different thoughts and, you know, were from different parts of the country and different parts of, you know, the world.

Speaker A

And it was very uncomfortable to, you know, think one way for the majority of your life and then to realize what all is possible and how much would need to change in order for that to be possible.

Speaker A

I was like, oh, okay.

Speaker A

So Q1 was difficult, but not as difficult as Q2.

Speaker A

I feel like quarter two of this year, 2025, I have laid a good foundation, but I didn't even realize I was laying the foundation.

Speaker A

You know, I kind of felt really scattered.

Speaker A

I wasn't 100% sure what was happening.

Speaker A

Most of the time, I was just kind of like, tossed around like a ship at sea.

Speaker A

I will say, I think the thing that changed the most for me in this quarter was getting my own office.

Speaker A

You know, I tried the whole work from home thing.

Speaker A

Not for me at all whatsoever.

Speaker A

I.

Speaker A

I'm not good at working from home.

Speaker A

We'll just put it like that.

Speaker A

And so getting an office and having my own space and decorating it just the way that I want.

Speaker A

And the lighting is perfect and I've got plants and everything is pink and bright and joyful.

Speaker A

It has been huge for my confidence, my creativity.

Speaker A

Just getting back into the energy of being around other people has been fantastic for me.

Speaker A

But I'm not so in the energy of other people that I have to talk to people all day.

Speaker A

I'm just kind of, you know, mingling in the same building.

Speaker A

So that has been really nice.

Speaker A

But this upcoming quarter, the third quarter of this year, I have a lot of work travel.

Speaker A

I've got some fun travel mixed in there too, but I've got a lot of work travel and I've got a lot of really exciting opportunities.

Speaker A

And these opportunities could just, you know, be cool opportunities or they could be life changing opportunities, depending on how I approach them and how prepared I am for them.

Speaker A

And this past weekend, you know, I went on my little Q3 retreat, Q3 planning retreat, which I'll be super transparent.

Speaker A

I didn't do a whole lot.

Speaker A

I laid around.

Speaker A

I did go on two hikes.

Speaker A

That was really nice.

Speaker A

And I.

Speaker A

That was literally all I did.

Speaker A

Productive.

Speaker A

You know, I journaled and I voice memo'd a lot of people, but other than that, I really, truly did nothing.

Speaker A

Like Saturday, I got up and I went for a walk, or a hike, I guess.

Speaker A

Whatever it was, it was kind of a walkie hike.

Speaker A

And then I came back and I showered and I watched the entire season of We Were Liars.

Speaker A

The entire season.

Speaker A

I just laid in the bed and watched it and it was so glorious.

Speaker A

I cannot tell you the last time I just laid in bed and did nothing.

Speaker A

It was so great.

Speaker A

I do have a bone to pick with that show.

Speaker A

I think if you didn't read the book, the show was great.

Speaker A

But if you read the book and then you watch the show, it was like, come on, just stick to the book.

Speaker A

You know, they just.

Speaker A

Anyway, I won't go there on this podcast, but it was an incredible weekend and I had a lot of time to think and reflect and just think without having to take action.

Speaker A

You know, I.

Speaker A

I am all about white space, but I feel like sometimes my white space is very structured.

Speaker A

Like, you know, I get home, I'm like, okay, I need to have my like 30 minutes of reflective time, but I've got things that I need to be thinking about during that reflective time.

Speaker A

And so it's really nice to just lay around on Saturday and do nothing and Just let my mind wander.

Speaker A

And I was thinking about all the opportunities coming up in this quarter, and it is very exciting, but it's also very intimidating because the results of this quarter are completely dependent on me.

Speaker A

And I do feel like I am also entering a new portion of my life where up until this point, it was like, okay, I just have to work hard.

Speaker A

I just have to work hard.

Speaker A

You know, like, oh, well, if I want that, I just need to work harder.

Speaker A

And now I am in a place where working hard is not going to get me where I want to go.

Speaker A

It is thinking differently and putting myself in uncomfortable situations and being visible, and that is terrifying.

Speaker A

I'm like, nope, I'd rather work hard.

Speaker A

And so all of that to say, I have really, you know, thought about this quarter and what's possible and how much it could impact the entire rest of my life.

Speaker A

And I.

Speaker A

I can say this.

Speaker A

I will have regret if I don't take full advantage of the opportunities that I have coming up.

Speaker A

So as I was journaling and brainstorming and thinking, I was like, you know what?

Speaker A

I really need to focus more on quality versus quantity in all areas of my life.

Speaker A

So social media, the podcast, really just all of my daily actions.

Speaker A

I think even now, with my calendar set up the way that it is, I can get very well if I have an extra two hours, like, let me, you know, add another class or whatever the case is.

Speaker A

But I think I need.

Speaker A

No, it's not.

Speaker A

I think this next quarter, I am going to pull back, cut back on everything, and really fully dive in deeper than I ever have before on very specific things.

Speaker A

And so, you know, I was just kind of looking at my calendar, and I was wanting to record some content ahead of time and record the podcast ahead of time.

Speaker A

And because, like, the end of August to almost the end of September, I will not be home.

Speaker A

And so I really wanted to have all my podcast episodes recorded.

Speaker A

And it was gonna be like, 16 episodes, I think, over the course of that couple weeks.

Speaker A

And I was like, y' all, this is insane.

Speaker A

Like, this is too much.

Speaker A

So I was like, you know what?

Speaker A

I am the CEO of this company.

Speaker A

And so we are cutting back to one episode per week.

Speaker A

Now, I do think it's going to be to the benefit of you, because I think each episode is going to have more depth.

Speaker A

There will be no episodes that are like, oh, shoot, I've got to record an episode tomorrow.

Speaker A

So they will all be strategic, and they will come from a place of, I think, higher intention versus just checking something.

Speaker A

Off of the list, which I'm not, you know, embarrassed or feel bad that I checked a lot of the episodes off of the list this year, because I think all of them, they at least provided value for me, and I hope they did for you as well.

Speaker A

But I do think that.

Speaker A

That it's going to be a positive shift for sure.

Speaker A

Now, I also, as I was just kind of letting my mind wander and I was journaling and I was brainstorming, it really made me think that my year and the way that it has gone is the reason why a lot of people don't go for what they really want.

Speaker A

Because I have pivoted, like, a lot this year, and I've done it very publicly.

Speaker A

And, you know, I have had some people comment, they're like, oh, kind of not sure what you're doing.

Speaker A

I'm like, yeah, same.

Speaker A

Not really.

Speaker A

And I think that there is this narrative of sticking to one thing, and I think that is wildly important.

Speaker A

Like, I think having goals and having, you know, an end vision in mind is incredibly important and knowing what you're moving to.

Speaker A

But I think that.

Speaker A

So there's one side of the coin, but I think the other side is also, like, in order to get to that end goal, you don't know what the steps are going to be.

Speaker A

And I think for me, I was like, looking back now in January, I was like, okay, here's my end goal, and I'm going to do X, Y and Z to get there.

Speaker A

And in reality, you have to try X and test it and pivot and shift, then to get to Y.

Speaker A

And then once you get to Y, it's like, well, okay, well, hold on.

Speaker A

Now I've got to test and shift and pivot.

Speaker A

And it's just there are so many more variables and factors and in terms of growing, not only professionally but personally, that you can't foreshadow and you can't predict and you can't plan for.

Speaker A

And I think a lot of people get embarrassed by this part of the process because you are pivoting publicly and people are watching, and people are probably like, what in the heck is she doing?

Speaker A

Like, is she, you know, starting a company?

Speaker A

Is she going back to real estate?

Speaker A

Like, what are all the things she's doing?

Speaker A

And for me, it has.

Speaker A

It has been difficult.

Speaker A

I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker A

It's been very hard to.

Speaker A

You know, I started out the year with one goal, and you put something out there and then you get feedback, and then you adjust and then you get feedback, and then you Adjust.

Speaker A

And when you get started, you're like, okay, I'm gonna, you know, put it out there.

Speaker A

I'm gonna get feedback and adjust like two or three times.

Speaker A

But really, it has been like 20, 20 times this year that I have, you know, put stuff out there and adjusted and adjusted and adjusted.

Speaker A

And I was talking to a friend and I said, you know, I kind of feel like I've been all over the place.

Speaker A

And she said, blakely, really, you haven't?

Speaker A

Like, it might have felt that way, but every single pivot that you had was getting you closer to your end goal.

Speaker A

Like you were shaving another layer away, another layer away, another layer away.

Speaker A

And I do think, you know, kind of shifting back into the real estate side of my life.

Speaker A

Needed to step back from that for a while and kind of see the industry from a different perspective and how I fit in the industry from a different perspective.

Speaker A

And so it's really exciting to come back and be in a different mindset and be in a different place and have an entirely different skill set and not, you know, be worried about the things that I was worried about before and not think about the things that I thought about before and think about how I think about differently.

Speaker A

And so I encourage you, if you are in a place where you're like, man, I need to pivot again, I have to shift this again.

Speaker A

To not think about it in terms of, man, I failed, or, wow, I have to change this again, or I have to modify this again, you're getting closer to that end goal.

Speaker A

And I will say, investing in these high ticket programs and being around these women that run these seven, eight figure businesses and seeing them pivot publicly and pivot in a way that looks kind of messy, and doing it boldly and not apologizing for it has been so beneficial for me.

Speaker A

One of the coaching programs I'm in right now, actually, they have done a complete pivot and she didn't apologize for it at all.

Speaker A

And it's been really messy and it's been kind of funky, and some people have talked about it and she's just rocking it.

Speaker A

And, you know, there's going to be some weeks where, you know, kind of the dust settles and then it's going to be better than ever.

Speaker A

And so that has been really encouraging for me to just see other people kind of fail publicly a little bit and have to adjust very quickly and just know that everything's not going to be perfect all the time.

Speaker A

And that's how you get to that end result is just messing up over and over and over again.

Speaker A

Just putting something out there and being like, oh, dang, that didn't work at all.

Speaker A

And knowing that it's going to take months and years of refining and adjusting and pivoting.

Speaker A

And so, yeah, if you are in a place where you are feeling that you're not alone by a long shot, I think all of the women that I've met this year, even the ones that are, you know, multi seven figures, they're having the same conversations.

Speaker A

You're like, oh, man, we need to adjust this, we need to pivot this.

Speaker A

Oh, we're going to have to, you know, refine this or take this off or add this on.

Speaker A

And yeah, like I said, it's just been really encouraging to be around those people.

Speaker A

And so for this quarter and, you know, moving forward, I do need to focus on fewer outputs and bigger moves.

Speaker A

One of my friends, Emily, she says that action takers are money makers.

Speaker A

And so this quarter is going to be all about action taking and developing a new layer of self trust and confidence and long game thinking.

Speaker A

Because right now I have got to remember that I'm not thinking in terms of like this quarter.

Speaker A

I have got to think in terms of three years from now, five years from now, 10 years from now, and adjusting from there.

Speaker A

So what can you do if you are feeling this similar struggle, feeling like you're in a similar season, in a similar situation?

Speaker A

I've got three tips for you.

Speaker A

Three power moves.

Speaker A

Okay, Number one, audit your efforts.

Speaker A

Are you doing things just to be seen as consistent or are you doing what actually moves the needle?

Speaker A

I am super guilty of this.

Speaker A

I will commit to something and I will stick to it, even if it's not working, even if it is not beneficial to me, to the business, to anyone else.

Speaker A

I do want to be seen as someone who is consistent and who is disciplined.

Speaker A

And I think that sometimes comes to my detriment.

Speaker A

And you might be experiencing this as well if you are someone who strives to be consistent.

Speaker A

Is.

Speaker A

There are times where I just do actions and activities just for the sake of completing them.

Speaker A

So audit that.

Speaker A

Audit your calendar and your actions and your efforts and see if there is somewhere where you are just doing something to be seen as consistent.

Speaker A

Number two, own your pivot.

Speaker A

Looking scattered is not the same as being ungrounded.

Speaker A

So if your mission is clear, if you know where you're headed, your pivots are part of your strategy.

Speaker A

And I think you can probably hear this all day long, but until you experience it yourself, you're not really going to understand that.

Speaker A

And it is going to be slightly embarrassing at the beginning and that is okay.

Speaker A

Like I, that is one thing I have gotten comfortable with this year is being embarrassed.

Speaker A

Like I'm perpetually embarrassed all the time.

Speaker A

I'm like, oh my gosh, I got to put this on my stories.

Speaker A

I've got to talk on this podcast.

Speaker A

I've got to like try this new thing that I'm not good at.

Speaker A

I have gotten very comfortable being embarrassed and it has been one of the best things that I've ever done for myself.

Speaker A

Wholeheartedly, I stick to that.

Speaker A

And then move number three is commit with courage.

Speaker A

Sticking with a long term vision will require uncomfortable adaptations.

Speaker A

Getting outside of your comfort zone, being embarrassed, doing things that don't feel right or don't feel like you know something you've ever done before or doing something and it looking messy or sloppy.

Speaker A

And just remember that's not failure, that is feedback.

Speaker A

You are going to learn from every single failure.

Speaker A

I have failed 10,000 times this year.

Speaker A

I have spent months spinning my wheels and trying to grow and launching things that didn't work.

Speaker A

And at the time it felt really bad.

Speaker A

But now where I'm sitting I'm like, oh, okay.

Speaker A

That's why that had to happen.

Speaker A

It's just, you know, staying in the game long enough to look back and realize that they were lessons, not failures.

Speaker A

So all of this to say, I have learned so much from this podcast, more than I ever expected.

Speaker A

And I am excited for this pivot.

Speaker A

I'm excited to go to one episode per week.

Speaker A

It will air on Tuesdays and the Icon Agent will air on Thursdays, same time, 7:00am Central Standard Time.

Speaker A

I'm gonna keep the topics the same.

Speaker A

The episodes might be a little bit longer, but I do think they will be a lot more intentional.

Speaker A

I think they will have a lot more depth and more thought.

Speaker A

And the most exciting part, the really, really exciting part of all this is, is that I am going to be learning so much the next few months.

Speaker A

I'm going to be meeting some really inspirational and really exciting people and learning from them in person.

Speaker A

And I am so excited and I can't wait.

Speaker A

I've actually ordered a journal, a hardcover journal, specifically for this quarter that I'm going to carry with me to all of these opportunities and all of these places and all these events and I'm going to write down every single nugget of information and I'm going to build a lot of podcast episodes from all of that.

Speaker A

So you will essentially get free information from all of this money that I have invested.

Speaker A

So lucky you.

Speaker A

It's really exciting, right?

Speaker A

Okay.

Speaker A

I hope you got some value from this episode.

Speaker A

I hope at the very least maybe it encouraged you a little bit.

Speaker A

If you have been just trying and failing and trying again and failing and pivoting and failing and then try one more time and it still fails.

Speaker A

Keep going.

Speaker A

Stay in the game.

Speaker A

It's happening for a reason.

Speaker A

You're learning lessons.

Speaker A

Just make sure you are sitting in that lesson and really ingesting it and learning everything that you can.

Speaker A

Okay?

Speaker A

If you have a friend who you think needs to hear this message, please send it to them.

Speaker A

I would also appreciate a review on whatever podcast platform you are listening on.

Speaker A

And with that, I.

Speaker A

I hope you have an amazing rest of your day and I'll see you in the next episode.

Speaker A

That's it for this edition of the Elevated Edit.

Speaker A

If this episode hit, don't keep it to yourself screenshot it, share it, tag me on Instagram.

Speaker A

And if you're ready to structure your business like the CEO that you are, you know where to find me.
