Welcome back to another episode of health hacks, and I have a question for you today. When was the last time you really noticed your breath, not just that you're breathing instead how you are breathing, because the breath is literally your body's remote control if you want more calm, better sleep, improve mental clarity, emotional regulation. It's literally just a few breaths away, and yet, so many of us spend our days in shallow chest based breathing, rather than that deeper breath that literally can drop us into our rest and digest state our parasympathetic nervous system. However, when we're rushing around feeling anxious and living in Go, go, go, that's not happening, that's when we're having that that chest shallow breathing, and that's telling our nervous system that we're in danger and to stay in high alert. And you can literally flip the switch from stress to calm in just a few minutes, using your breath. And I've talked about this often, and I will continue to talk about it because it is so powerful. My favorite breath technique to do this quickly is called 557, breathing, you inhale gently through your nose for a count of five, and then simply hold your breath for a count of five and then exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of seven and repeat that 10 times. That's it. And you just told your body, hey, we're safe. It's okay to relax, let's rest, repair, restore. We're not needing to run away from a lion or a tiger. We can shift into our parasympathetic nervous system, which is our healing state. This is so simple and yet so powerful, and you can do it anywhere, anytime, because you have your breath with you all the time. You can do this before winding down to go to bed and get improved sleep. You can do it in the middle of the day to reset from a hectic morning. You can do it simply during a stressful moment to stay grounded. You can do it first thing in the morning to start your day with mental clarity. You can do it while driving. When you're stressed out because you're going to be late, you're stuck in traffic. And the best part is this is completely free, and, as I said, always accessible, and doesn't require anything except you showing up for you. So let this be your gentle reminder. Today, your breath is a built in tool that you are born with. Use it. It's a reset. Come back to yourself. Let me know if you've tried this technique and how you felt afterwards. Is I know when I guide my clients through this technique, every single one of them loves it. We just don't allow ourselves enough times to relax during our day. And this is such a powerful tool that gives us a few moments of that. I love hearing your wins, your shifts and your healing moments. And there's just one tool in my toolbox that I share with clients, and there's many, many more. And if you'd like more tools to help you get out of stress and into calm, to get unstuck, to keep moving forward, then feel free to reach out. DM me, send me an email.
