Hey, hey, this is Shaun with the GoTennis! Podcast powered by Signature Tennis.
Speaker:Today's tennis tip comes from Coach Nathan Singleton.
Speaker:Have a listen and let us know what you think.
Speaker:Hello everyone, this is Nathan from FirstServeUniversity.com.
Speaker:Your tactical specialist here to give you advice on how to win more matches.
Speaker:One of the most common mistakes I see in recreational players is that they attack the opponent's
Speaker:backhand way too much, not just over the match but in a point.
Speaker:You need to start to look at attacking a person's backhand so that you can see a short
Speaker:ball to be able to attack it down the line to end the point, put them on the run, or come
Speaker:to the net and finish with a volley.
Speaker:So as you're in your next match, I want you to think about am I overhitting to this person's
Speaker:backhand?
Speaker:Because possibly you could be giving practice to that person's backhand and their backhand
Speaker:may start to get better throughout the match because they're hitting it so often.
Speaker:So look for your opportunities usually in the middle of the court to take that ball down
Speaker:the line inside in and hurt that opponent by making the run, or sometimes it will be
Speaker:a winner.
Speaker:This is Nathan from FirstServeUniversity, your tactical specialist here to give you advice on how
Speaker:to win matches.
