Hello everyone, this is Nathan from FirstServeUniversity.com.

Speaker:

Your tactical specialist here to give you advice on how to win more matches.

Speaker:

One of the most common mistakes I see in recreational players is that they attack the opponent's

Speaker:

backhand way too much, not just over the match but in a point.

Speaker:

You need to start to look at attacking a person's backhand so that you can see a short

Speaker:

ball to be able to attack it down the line to end the point, put them on the run, or come

Speaker:

to the net and finish with a volley.

Speaker:

So as you're in your next match, I want you to think about am I overhitting to this person's

Speaker:

backhand?

Speaker:

Because possibly you could be giving practice to that person's backhand and their backhand

Speaker:

may start to get better throughout the match because they're hitting it so often.

Speaker:

So look for your opportunities usually in the middle of the court to take that ball down

Speaker:

the line inside in and hurt that opponent by making the run, or sometimes it will be

Speaker:

a winner.
