Speaker:Hi, I'm Rob Carver, author of the book 366 Days of Tennis, A Tip of Day to Improve
Speaker:Your Game.
Speaker:I'm going to get some of the time and you know what that means, it's mixed doubles season.
Speaker:Today I got a great tip to help you earn serve better when you're playing mixed doubles.
Speaker:Set up the conventional formation of one up one back, try playing two back at the baseline.
Speaker:I know ladies when you say this, your male partner says, "I don't want to do that, that's too defensive."
Speaker:So try saying this to your male partner.
Speaker:Say, "Hey, can you help me out with one shot and come back to the baseline?"
Speaker:After that, let him do what he wants.
Speaker:This will allow you to play against the tough serve or the spin serve that you're not used to seeing from the male opponent.
Speaker:Remember, it's mixed doubles, not mixed troubles.
Speaker:Have a great day, hang tough.
