Amber FugateSo open up your heart and let God speak and move as you listen.
Amber FugateCome on, let's get into it.
Amber FugateSo, hello and welcome back to Worship Leader Pod.
Amber FugateI am your host, Amber Fugate.
Amber FugateAnd today I'm super pumped to have a very long time friend of mine on the show who I've known ever since she was a young teenager, which is crazy.
Amber FugateAnd she, and I've been super blessed to watch her grow into an amazing woman of God, a mother, a wife.
Amber FugateAnd I'm super excited to have her here.
Amber FugateWelcome Jasmine Wheeler, the one and only.
Amber FugateWelcome.
Amber FugateWelcome, Jasmine.
Jasmine WheelerHi.
Jasmine WheelerIt's an honor to be on this podcast.
Jasmine WheelerThanks for having me.
Amber FugateYes, yes, absolutely.
Amber FugateThis is, you know, we're recording this the day after the election.
Amber FugateSo it's, it's a lot of, it's a lot of different vibes going on, good ones and also processing as we were kind of chatting before the show.
Amber FugateSo we don't know where this is going to go.
Amber FugateWe're going to go with whatever the Holy Spirit wants to do in this conversation.
Amber FugateBut I am super, super excited, Jasmine, to have you here because, you know, obviously with the history that we've had just from me meeting you when I was in Bible college in Columbus, Ohio and being through, going through Bible college and then even still connecting throughout the years, whether it's like via social media, calling each other, etc, and it's honestly been super cool, like super cool to see you like from jazz, you know, it's like Jazz to Jasmine to Pastor Jasmine, to Mama Jasmine to wife Jasmine.
Amber FugateLike, it's super dope.
Amber FugateLike, I like love it.
Amber FugateIt's like an unfolding and it's been super, honestly encouraging for me even in this year where I've been able to really lean in on just your amazing wisdom throughout this election and not just election, but just like my walk with the Lord and understanding the Bible and understanding what God is doing and really walking through really the whole country and those who have an ear to hear through navigating the election year and the Times that we live in.
Amber FugateAnd so it's been really super honoring to be able to watch you and kind of be a part of that.
Amber FugateAnd really, like, I feel like I owe you an offering because of how much I've been invested in just, like, listening to you and all of that.
Jasmine WheelerSo.
Amber FugateI have a funny story.
Amber FugateIt's not my funny actually.
Amber FugateIt's actually really cool story, but I remember when I was.
Amber FugateLet's see, I just got married, and I.
Amber FugateI don't know if we were, like, texting or something.
Amber FugateIt was like, so 2011.
Amber FugateI left Columbus in 2007 or 8, and we were still in touch.
Amber FugateAnd you're like, we got to talk.
Amber FugateI'm like, all right, call me, girl.
Amber FugateLet's chat.
Amber FugateAnd you downloaded a vision that you had for Hollywood coming to know Christ.
Amber FugateLike, people in that industry, you.
Amber FugateLike, the whole industry needs to change.
Amber FugateThere's literally, I'm excited to meet and I can't remember who you mentioned, like, the most famous person and lead that person to Jesus.
Amber FugateAnd you're just going through this whole vision.
Amber FugateI'm just like, yeah.
Amber FugateYes, let's go.
Amber FugateRight pumped.
Amber FugateAnd I just loved seeing that, like, that seed almost, like, get kind of, like planting it with your words.
Amber FugateAnd then literally, I'm watching that unfold to today.
Amber FugateLike the.
Amber FugateAnd it's not about.
Amber FugateIt's not about popularity or, like, influence.
Amber FugateIt's about the godly influence to go into spaces to basically invade the spaces for the kingdom of God.
Amber FugateLike, that's been super, super dope about that.
Amber FugateTalk about that a little bit, like.
Amber FugateTalk about, like, oh, maybe give us a little bit of that vision that you had and where you see it now and things that you.
Amber FugateAnything you want to share in that?
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerSo, I mean, it's crazy.
Jasmine WheelerIt's been a wild journey in that space.
Jasmine WheelerI think I had an encounter probably early, early 2000s, when I was in high school, early high school, where I was at a store with some friends, and we saw, you know, the tabloids right before you about to check out, and there's, like, candy and, like, magazines, and they try to get you before you finish.
Jasmine WheelerThey get you right.
Jasmine WheelerSo I saw a magazine at the time that was talking about Lindsay Lohan and how jacked up her life was.
Jasmine WheelerIt was some divorce.
Jasmine WheelerHer parents were being divorced.
Jasmine WheelerAll this drama and drugs.
Jasmine WheelerDa, da, da, da.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I was standing with some friends, and we saw it, and my friends at the time started kind of laughing and poking fun at Lindsay Lohan's life and There was this, like, deep conviction that came up in me of, like, if that was any of us, we wouldn't be laughing like that.
Jasmine WheelerLike, it wouldn't be.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it kind of started this journey with me of, like, paying attention to people, celebrities and people in the industry, influencers, their lives, and like, how we had stripped their humanity from them so much.
Jasmine WheelerWe were entertained by them, but we don't care about their human condition.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it was bothering me the more I saw it.
Jasmine WheelerAnd basically at the same time, you might remember this, but the church that I grew up in, which is the place where you're at, the Bible college that you went to, was.
Jasmine WheelerI.
Jasmine WheelerI don't know why, if I'm super honest, but I just had, like, supernatural favor there.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I would get caught up on the stage all the time, or like, I just had favor at this mega church.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I started to notice at some point in my time there that people would almost try to build relationship with me to try to, like, climb this weird social ladder in the church.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it just put a bad taste in my mouth for influence.
Jasmine WheelerPut a bad taste in my mouth for stages for being an influence at churches.
Jasmine WheelerLike, I was just like, I don't want.
Jasmine WheelerI don't want this.
Jasmine WheelerI don't know what this is, but I'm not interested in it.
Jasmine WheelerI saw a lot behind the scenes, and it was just kind of like, I don't want anything to do with influence.
Jasmine WheelerI don't want anybody treating me weird, and I don't want to be on the stage.
Jasmine WheelerBut it also gave me even more compassion and empathy for people in the industry who actually had real intense influence.
Jasmine WheelerSo mine was minor in our little.
Jasmine WheelerOur little community, our little church.
Jasmine WheelerBut I'm like, if I'm experiencing this on this level, what is the Lindsay Lohan?
Jasmine WheelerWhat are these people experiencing?
Jasmine WheelerAnd so God really gave me a burden during that season for people in the arts and entertainment industry.
Jasmine WheelerAnd as I began to pray for those people and as I jumped into music In 2009, 2010, I started getting all these prophetic words about doing music.
Jasmine WheelerAnd super long story short, it's a wild, long journey.
Jasmine WheelerBut I gave the Lord my yes and music.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then the Holy Spirit began to teach me how to play the guitar.
Jasmine WheelerAnd music just kind of like opened up for me in a way that I wasn't expecting as I went into college.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the mix of getting into doing music and the heart for people in the arts and entertainment industry kind of led me into this place of becoming very Passionate, I believe, a godly carrying God's heart for the arts and entertainment industry.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then the Lord gave me a vision of this creative community that would train and equip people to go into the industry and advance the kingdom.
Jasmine WheelerThere's people that need to know the Lord there.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I believe that the arts and entertainment industry is one of the greatest ways that generations get discipled.
Jasmine WheelerWe're in election in an election season, and we literally have seen specifically the Democratic side, some of the Republican side, but we specifically watched an entire party use the arm of the arts and entertainment industry to try to win an election.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I really believe that politics is downstream from the arts and entertainment industry.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so, wow, if we're not impacting the arts and entertainment industry, then we will lose continuously.
Jasmine WheelerLike, and so we can't, like, not be involved in the arts and entertainment industry and not try to impact that world and train people how to do it and expect to see revival and reformation in our day.
Jasmine WheelerIt's just not real because it's one of the most influential places in the nation.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I always tell people I got discipled by Eminem.
Jasmine WheelerThey're like, you hung out with Eminem when you were little?
Jasmine WheelerNo, but I listened to Eminem all the time in middle school.
Jasmine WheelerEminem taught me how to.
Jasmine WheelerHow to.
Jasmine WheelerEminem taught me how to process my family brokenness.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it wasn't great what he taught me, but he taught me how to process the brokenness of my home.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerAnd there's little girls being discipled by Taylor Swift right now.
Jasmine WheelerThere's little girls being discipled by Sexy Red.
Jasmine WheelerThere's little girls and little boys discipled by all of these people in the industry.
Jasmine WheelerSo the further we get from the arts and entertainment industry and the desire to see the kingdom advance, the less ground we take for the kingdom, where people get to know Jesus and get to know the ways of God, you know?
Amber FugateYeah.
Amber FugateAnd what do you say to people who feel like, oh, well, you know, we shouldn't get into that world.
Amber FugateThat's not like, you know, and you're talking about it, but it's like, that's a real feeling.
Amber FugateEven with the political side, which I love, with you guys at mercy culture, Landon and Heather and your community, you talk about how, like, things are not.
Amber FugateIt's not a political thing.
Amber FugateIt's spiritual.
Amber FugateLike, there's a spiritual asset to that.
Amber FugateBut it feels like in the Christian culture, that feels like, well, don't do that.
Amber FugateThat's separate.
Amber FugateWe pray for them on the side but we're not engaged with that.
Amber FugateSo like, how do we do that better and how do we break down those walls to get into that sphere?
Amber FugateBecause you're right, we do need to be taking dominion in that area because it affects the entire country, which is crazy.
Amber FugateLike, we're watching it, you know, we watched it happen.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I think the language that I would use is Jesus instructed us to be salt and light in the world.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so that doesn't look like just being stuck in the salt shaker.
Amber FugateCome on, get me out of your salt shaker.
Jasmine WheelerIt is what it is.
Jasmine WheelerLike what good is salt if it's just sitting in the salt shaker?
Jasmine WheelerLike it actually has to do something in the earth, you know?
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I think sometimes we have this mindset that if we just stay in our little Christian bubbles and just pray and just preach the gospel to people in the church, that like, things are gonna get better.
Jasmine WheelerAnd yeah, especially I keep hearing that.
Jasmine WheelerI'm just like, guys, like, let's just be logical.
Jasmine WheelerLet's just think logically here.
Jasmine WheelerLike, does it make sense?
Jasmine WheelerYou know, not to mention biblically, it's not biblical.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so you have people like Daniel, people like Esther, people like Ezra in the Bible, all over the Bible, Joseph, like you can literally go down the line and see that there are people who were involved very much beyond the temple, beyond the four walls of the church.
Jasmine WheelerThe reason that Jesus had to wash the disciples feet is because they weren't just hanging out in the temple all day, they were out among the people in society.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I, I just, I get really passionate about this and I have to like, bring it back, calm down a little bit because I think we're losing ground because of this lie that we can actually do something and not have to leave the four walls of the church.
Jasmine WheelerIt's comfort, it's comfortable to stay in the church.
Jasmine WheelerIs it easier to stay in the church?
Jasmine WheelerIt's less conflict to stay in the church.
Jasmine WheelerLike, we don't, we don't get to live that way.
Jasmine WheelerI think something that I love that's interesting, that I think is super interesting is in the 70s, we all love to talk about the Jesus people movement that happened in the 70s, right.
Jasmine WheelerWe love what God did and all the hippies coming to know Jesus and.
Jasmine WheelerBut if you look, if you look at it or in the 60s, sorry, the late 60s, into the 70s, and if you look at it, during that time was the sexual revolution, right?
Jasmine WheelerSo there's drugs, there's sex, there's music, all this stuff happening in creativity.
Jasmine WheelerThere's a ton happening in the world.
Jasmine WheelerAnd all of a sudden, God starts moving.
Jasmine WheelerPeople start getting saved again, baptized in the ocean.
Jasmine WheelerAll kinds of crazy stuff is going on.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then there's these three men of God that have these encounters with the Lord where God begins to speak to them about these other areas of influence that God wanted them to impact in order to see people's lives changed.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we know them now.
Jasmine WheelerSome people know them now as the seven mountains.
Jasmine WheelerBut.
Jasmine WheelerBut there's three men of God that had similar encounters of the Lord speaking to them about this, that were in leadership, one of which was the leader of.
Jasmine WheelerWe would know the ministries of Ywam.
Jasmine WheelerI can't the three guys named at this moment.
Jasmine WheelerBut they're super influential in ministry.
Jasmine WheelerAnd basically what happened is that message was revolutionary because during the Jesus People movement, the keynote scripture for that movement was, come out from among you and be ye separate.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so a ton of people came out of culture, they came out of working in the marketplace, came out of all these different realms, and they're like, we're just going to focus on Jesus.
Jasmine WheelerAnd that was amazing.
Jasmine WheelerBut if you look at it, I think it's interesting that God's response to that movement was to give people the revelation of the seven mountains and say, this is awesome, but I need you to go and do something with it outside of the church.
Jasmine WheelerYou to actually, like, go and influence society.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so what happened, the response to come out from among you and be separate was to make all of these subculture, or to make all of these little things of Christian music and Christian movies and Christian everything.
Jasmine WheelerWe began to create our own subculture to keep ourselves away from people.
Jasmine WheelerAnd there's tons of people now that will say, that was one of people who were involved in that then who will today.
Jasmine WheelerDutch Sheets is one of those people who talked about it a few weeks ago at a conference at our church that they realized one of the biggest mistakes they made during that time was to get out of culture because we forfeited territory.
Jasmine WheelerGod wanted to take what he was doing in those people, and he wanted to put it on display for the nation to see.
Jasmine WheelerBut we said, no, no, no.
Jasmine WheelerWe're just gonna, like, get in our little corners and recreate our own genres of music and recreate our own movies and look at what Jesus has done in our life.
Jasmine WheelerThank you, Lord, for the Holy Spirit that's filled us with wisdom and strategy and all these things.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we're actually going to go and now See the kingdom impact movies and impact the music industry, impact all these things.
Jasmine WheelerSo I just believe we lost a lot of territory during that time.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I don't agree with all of the teachings and all the things that have come out about Set the Seven Mountains and Dominionism and all that.
Jasmine WheelerSo I don't agree with all of that.
Jasmine WheelerBut I do believe that God has given us an assignment to be salt and light in the earth, that we should be in all of those places influencing, impacting, seeing God's the kingdom, the attributes of heaven, the ways of God impacting those areas and those spheres of influence in the world.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so, anyway, I'm super passionate about it.
Jasmine WheelerI just think it's a work of the enemy to keep us stuck in the church.
Amber FugateYes, yes.
Amber FugateI mean, you can see even now, I mean, maybe you can attest to this because you're really involved in this.
Amber FugateBut, like, there is change happening in that.
Amber FugateLike, we are.
Amber FugateLike, the church really is going.
Amber FugateAnd you can tell.
Amber FugateI mean, even the music industry, I'm like, whoa, we're not messing around, you know, and in movies and things like that, how do we.
Amber FugateBecause I'm sitting at the table, I'm talking to you.
Amber FugateBecause it's like, okay, I want to know how I can do that.
Amber FugateBut I'm sure there's other people who might be listening, like, okay, how do I get involved in that?
Amber FugateAnd I know a lot of that.
Amber FugateIt comes with awareness, knowing where you are in a sense of like, am I stuck here?
Amber FugateHave I been complacent and kind of stuck in my own world, that I've been afraid to go out and, you know, showcase God's creativity through, whether it's songwriting or teaching, teaching something or.
Amber FugateThere's so many different avenues.
Amber FugateBut maybe we need more awareness of where we are and then to step out into what God's called us, basically to take territory.
Amber FugateAnd I love that.
Amber FugateThat phrase that you said.
Amber FugateIt's like we're losing ground.
Amber FugateAnd we don't need to be losing ground at this point.
Amber FugateWe need to be making traction.
Amber FugateWe need to be.
Amber FugateWe need to be taking over, in a sense, in a godly way.
Amber FugateAnd so how do we do that?
Amber FugateLike, what?
Amber FugateSome.
Amber FugateAnything you got practical.
Amber FugateIt could be spiritual applications to maybe help somebody who's like, okay, I hear what you're saying, Jessica.
Amber FugateHow do I move forward in doing that?
Jasmine WheelerYeah, absolutely, I think so.
Jasmine WheelerLet me just start with this.
Jasmine WheelerThe Bible says that the kingdom of heaven, that it is currently advancing.
Amber FugateYes.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so to me, what that Means is God is moving.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the ways of God, the nature of God, the, the way of his kingdom is advancing in the earth.
Jasmine WheelerIt is expanding, it is moving forward, it is spreading in the earth.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I feel like walking with Jesus is an invitation to partner with God in the advancing.
Jasmine WheelerSo that doesn't mean that I can pick up myself and just decide I'm going to strive and just make something happen in the kingdom.
Jasmine WheelerIt means, no, no, no, God's doing something.
Jasmine WheelerLike he said that the kingdom is advancing currently.
Jasmine WheelerI get to jump in, partner with God and be a part of what he's doing in the earth.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so practically speaking, I think paying attention to the things that God has given us, the things that he's put in our hands.
Jasmine WheelerSo good.
Jasmine WheelerI love that Jesus is ministering to people in the Gospels and all of a sudden he realizes these people haven't eaten, they're hungry.
Jasmine WheelerAnd one of the stories goes is there's a little boy who has some lunch, and they take lunch.
Jasmine WheelerAnd Jesus multiplies this little boy's lunch to feed the masses.
Jasmine WheelerAnd to me, our gifts, our talents, our passions, the things that make us come alive are our lunch in the hands of Jesus.
Jasmine WheelerSo when we give Jesus our gifts, when we give him our talents, when we give him the passions, things that he's put inside of us, he takes those things, he multiplies it, and then he gives it to, he uses it to serve the world the way that he wants serve the world.
Jasmine WheelerSo the problem is, if you think that your lunch is yours, it never multiplies.
Jasmine WheelerYou take the lunch and you give it to Jesus and you say, this is not mine, this is actually yours.
Jasmine WheelerYou give Jesus permission to do what he wants with it.
Jasmine WheelerI can't help but wonder in that story, like, if you think about the kids lunch, like, what actually happened, like in the actual physical sense, like in the molecular structure of the food, like what happened, this kid's food changed somehow.
Jasmine WheelerLike it turned into something that it was not in order to serve people.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so with that being said, it's kind of like you have these gifts, you have these passions, but when you put it in the hands of God, you give him permission to do whatever he wants, wants with it.
Jasmine WheelerWhich means sometimes the structure of it, the way that you saw it last, it may change by the time it gets in his hands.
Jasmine WheelerBut when you give it to him, it's trusting.
Jasmine WheelerHe's going to do what he wants to do with it, and he's going.
Amber FugateTo do more than you could have.
Jasmine WheelerDid with it on your own.
Jasmine WheelerWhat you could have did with your gift on your own was just feed yourself, was just satisfy yourself.
Jasmine WheelerBut when you put it in the hands of Jesus, he actually can serve people.
Jasmine WheelerHe can.
Jasmine WheelerHe can serve people.
Jasmine WheelerNo.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I want Jesus to serve people with the gift that he gave to me anyway, because it's not mine, it's his.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so we have these Christians who have these gifts and these passions to act and to sing.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I mean, man, Amber.
Jasmine WheelerAll the time.
Jasmine WheelerAll the time.
Jasmine WheelerI'm meeting worship leaders who they love leading worship.
Jasmine WheelerThey're passionate about it.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I'll be like, but, like, do you write songs?
Jasmine WheelerThey're like, yeah.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then they'll pull up their voice memos and they'll have a ton of songs that aren't worship songs that are about life and about love and about family and about all these kingdom things, and they don't know what to do with them.
Jasmine WheelerAnd they think, I can't do anything with this because I'm just a worship leader.
Jasmine WheelerI just gotta, like, lead corporate worship.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerLike, yeah.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the dangerous part of that is to me.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I'm not.
Jasmine WheelerI'm not trying to come at you.
Jasmine WheelerOh, you're good.
Amber FugateI love it.
Amber FugateNo, no, I love it.
Jasmine WheelerBut I'm saying, like, those songs are lunch.
Jasmine WheelerLike, that's our lunch.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we have to put it in the hands of Jesus so he can do something with it.
Jasmine WheelerHe doesn't just want to minister to the world through our worship songs.
Jasmine WheelerLike, he wants to disciple a generation on heartache and love and marriage and heartbreak and growing up in a world like this.
Jasmine WheelerLike, he wants to use people who have met him.
Jasmine WheelerLike, who better to write love songs than people who have authentically encountered the God who is love?
Jasmine WheelerYes.
Amber FugateThat's so good.
Jasmine WheelerSurrender this position of writing love songs to people who are bound in lust and sexual perversion and sexual immorality.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we say, we'll let you write the love songs because we're not allowed to write love songs.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's like, hold on.
Jasmine WheelerWhy?
Jasmine WheelerWhy aren't we writing love songs that make marriage.
Jasmine WheelerMarriage is stronger and marriage is healthier?
Jasmine WheelerSo there's all these pockets.
Jasmine WheelerI'm specifically talking songwriting right now.
Jasmine WheelerBut look at that same perspective.
Jasmine WheelerThink about it with acting.
Jasmine WheelerThink about it with film.
Jasmine WheelerThink about it with fashion.
Jasmine WheelerThink about it with all these other areas.
Jasmine WheelerI mean, the Bible says that when Paul would go minister that his handkerchiefs carried healing power on them, that people got healed from his.
Jasmine WheelerFrom his handkerchiefs.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so, like, to me, I'm like, okay, you can look at that story and be like, cool.
Jasmine WheelerThe power of God was on the dude's handkerchiefs.
Jasmine WheelerWell, to me, like, that was fabric.
Jasmine WheelerGod showed us that he can be on fabric, that he can touch people.
Jasmine WheelerHe can heal people through fabric.
Jasmine WheelerSo why aren't we in the fashion industry making clothes that carry the power of God?
Jasmine WheelerLike, why do we think we just gotta make shirts for Christians that say scripture on them and sell them to church people?
Jasmine WheelerAnd that's the only way that we can see the kingdom advance?
Jasmine WheelerNo, there should be people at New York Fashion Week that are creating clothes that recreate the standard of what modesty and purity looks like in a generation and makes it attractive again to be modest, to be pure, to value your body and to.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then clothes that carry the God on them.
Jasmine WheelerLike, you know, and so we just get stuck in these boxes.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so, practically speaking, I would say, understanding that your gift is not your own, continuously giving your gift back to Jesus and saying, jesus, whatever you want to do with my songwriting, whatever you want to do with this desire for this passion for fashion, whatever you want to do with this passion for film and for acting, I'm inviting you to take this bread and take these fish and serve people with it and give me your heart and mind for what it looks like to do that.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I think it has to start with a heart posture.
Jasmine WheelerI think it has to start with praying, that type of prayer.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then I think the Lord begins to give strategy.
Jasmine WheelerHe begins to give blueprints and instructions as we ask him.
Jasmine WheelerAnd he says, hey, I want you to do this.
Jasmine WheelerI want you to go try out for this film.
Jasmine WheelerI want you to release this album about.
Jasmine WheelerRelease this song, this video on TikTok.
Jasmine WheelerLike, he begins to give instructions, but it has to start with the heart posture of, this is not mine.
Jasmine WheelerThis is yours.
Amber FugateRight?
Amber FugateRight.
Amber FugateAbsolutely.
Amber FugateAnd I immediately just imagine the story in Exodus when Moses is giving God all his excuses and his I can't do this because of.
Amber FugateAnd I love God's response three times.
Amber FugateAnd God says, you know, what's in front of you?
Amber FugateLike, what have I given to you?
Amber FugateAnd then Moses goes.
Amber FugateAnd he goes through the list of why he's unfit for this position.
Amber FugateHe's giving God the decree.
Amber FugateHe said, don't you see?
Amber FugateThese are the things that I cannot do.
Amber FugateAnd he said, but am I not the God who made the mouth?
Amber FugateAm I not the God who can fill?
Amber FugateAm I not the God who can open eyes?
Amber FugateAnd open ears.
Amber FugateAnd then Moses again says, I know, but can you just pick somebody else?
Amber FugateLike, I feel like there's a better option.
Amber FugateI feel like there's a better option.
Amber FugateAnd then God's.
Amber FugateGod in his mercy and his love does bring someone to help Moses.
Amber FugateAnd I love that picture because I can relate to it, too, in a sense of, like, someone can come alongside of you.
Amber FugateGod will give you everything you need is basically what I'm trying to say.
Amber FugateHe will give you everything that you need, and he will reveal to you that what you have in your hand, your lunch, is not yours.
Amber FugateAnd he wants to multiply it.
Amber FugateAnd it's not going to be.
Amber FugateAnd it's not going to be in your doing.
Amber FugateIt's not by your might, it's not by your power, and it's not even in your own strength.
Amber FugateIt's about you just saying yes, giving God your yes every single step of the way.
Amber FugateLike.
Amber FugateAnd I say, like, I'm guilty of that because it's like, you just get too much in your head, especially with songwriting, because you're like, is this going to be it?
Amber FugateIs this the hit?
Amber FugateIs this going to be the one?
Amber FugateYou know, And I remember you and I talking about, like, even songs that you're like, yeah, I got the song.
Amber FugateI didn't even think it was going to go anywhere.
Amber FugateI didn't even.
Amber FugateI just.
Amber FugateIt was, you know.
Amber FugateBut if you can look at songs or you can look at writing or you can look at fashion, you can look at all these things as an offering.
Amber FugateYeah, you bring it to God as an offering, and that is what he wants.
Amber FugateHe's not looking for sacrifice.
Amber FugateHe's looking for your heart.
Amber FugateHe's looking for the offering.
Amber FugateAnd so when we give that to him.
Amber FugateWhen I said yes to leading worship, even though I felt unqualified, X, Y, and Z, When I started this podcast, and I felt unqualified and don't know what to do, God says, what have I given to you?
Amber FugateJust say yes.
Amber FugateAnd he.
Amber FugateAnd he gives us exactly what we need.
Amber FugateAnd I love that, Jasmine, because I feel like even when you were talking about people in the industry who need Jesus, who need even just that encouragement and that light, you know, to do what they're doing and see that what they are doing is a reflection of what God has put inside of them, they need those errands to come into their life and say, hey, I'm going to help you with this.
Amber FugateWe need to disciple these people, and we should be just as passionate about them as Just like the people that we go to church with every week.
Amber FugateAnd so I just.
Amber FugateI love just the idea.
Amber FugateNot even the idea, but the truth of, you know, our gift is not ours, and it is his.
Amber FugateAnd when we can identify.
Amber FugateThat's why I talked about awareness.
Amber FugateWhen you are aware, I feel like the Holy Spirit gives us awareness.
Amber FugateHe says, whoa, where are you?
Amber FugateWhat have I given you?
Amber FugateWhat are you doing?
Amber FugateWhere have I placed you?
Amber FugateIt's not by accident, but I'm giving you a.
Amber FugateThe instruction, too.
Amber FugateI'm going to give you the instruction to take a step forward.
Amber FugateJust say yes every single time.
Amber FugateSo anyone who's listening to this, you're kind of drenched in songwriting and not sure what to do.
Amber FugateThis is also me.
Amber FugateDon't know what to do.
Amber FugateI have all these voice memos.
Amber FugateDon't know what to do.
Amber FugateBut have I offered it to the Lord, or have I just kept it for myself to only feed myself?
Amber FugateAsk yourself those questions, and these are good questions because they're healthy questions to help you be aware of what the Kingdom of God is doing now.
Amber FugateBecause he wants us to participate in that.
Amber FugateSo if you're listening to that, listen to the Holy Spirit and let him just speak to you and things that you've done and things that you have in your hand that he wants you to offer up.
Amber FugateSo that was extra.
Amber FugateBut I.
Amber FugateI love that.
Amber FugateAnd I have been following Axel and.
Amber FugateIs that.
Amber FugateDid I say that right?
Amber FugateOkay.
Amber FugateYeah, Axel.
Amber FugateMercy culture.
Amber FugateI mean, you guys know I'm a fan.
Amber FugateI'm just like, I'm here for it.
Amber FugateOkay?
Amber FugateI'm here for it.
Amber FugateAnd I just absolutely love that you invest in this.
Amber FugateYou know, it's like, especially in creatives, it's like.
Amber FugateYeah, I feel like we get not missed, but kind of especially, like in the church, you know, there's not actually that space to really do as much as you want.
Amber FugateNot that churches necessarily don't want that, but we don't make as much room for it so that people can find that awareness and know what God has placed in their hands.
Amber FugateAnd so.
Amber FugateSo I'd love for you just to talk a little bit about what Axel is, where it stemmed from.
Amber FugateAnd really, I know that you guys have conferences and you have, like, all these different things that people can be a part of, and I feel like this community would very, very much benefit from that.
Amber FugateSo please talk about that.
Jasmine WheelerYes.
Jasmine WheelerSo Axel is a.
Jasmine WheelerWe call it a house vision of mercy culture.
Jasmine WheelerHouse visions are basically ministries that have one step, one foot in our house.
Jasmine WheelerOur church and one foot out.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so a lot of times, maybe in the past, people call those paraministries and they would get a bad rap.
Jasmine WheelerWe found a way in our church for people to carry vision that's beyond just the corporate encounter, be supported by the church and have reach outside of the church.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so Axel is one of those.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I lead Axel.
Jasmine WheelerI started with an encounter that I had in 2013, wasn't.
Jasmine WheelerI wasn't like asking the Lord for this or praying for this, but I heard the Lord say, right?
Jasmine WheelerI heard the Lord whisper audibly to me, it's like an arts label one day.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I was like, I don't know what you're talking about.
Jasmine WheelerI don't know what that means.
Jasmine WheelerI've never heard that phrase before.
Jasmine WheelerI don't know what this is.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then I went into a meeting with my pastor at the time, and during our meeting he stopped me and he said, hey, can I submit this prophetic word to you?
Jasmine WheelerAnd I said, sure.
Jasmine WheelerAnd he says, the Lord showed me that he's about to give you a blueprint for an apostolic creatives movement in the earth.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's going to be like an arts label.
Jasmine WheelerAnd blew me away because I hadn't really.
Jasmine WheelerI hadn't shared that with it with a soul.
Jasmine WheelerAnd that's the exact same phrase that the Lord gave me.
Jasmine WheelerA couple weeks later, I'm recording my first full length album and I'm with some friends at another friend's house who's producing the album.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I had this encounter with the Lord.
Jasmine WheelerAnd in this encounter, I'm in this room and on the wall of the room I was in, I see this neon blue ink, this.
Jasmine WheelerThis blueprint drawn out in neon blue ink.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I began.
Jasmine WheelerI opened my journal and began to draw out what I saw.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the Lord began to speak to me about what he wanted to do in culture and amongst these creatives.
Jasmine WheelerAnd Fast forward moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be a part of mercy culture in 2018, I think it was.
Amber FugateWow.
Jasmine WheelerAnd when I moved here, the Lord began to speak very clearly about how it was time to birth Axel with this house in Fort Worth.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so we birthed it.
Jasmine WheelerAnd basically it's a community of creatives all over the world.
Jasmine WheelerIn America, we have a couple other nations represented right now as well.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the whole vision of Axel is to equip and empower sons and daughters to advance the kingdom through their creative expression.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so the whole idea is God wants to advance the kingdom through what's in your hands.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we want to equip people to do it.
Jasmine WheelerBecause if you're called to be in the industry but you're not equipped, you will do what tons of other influencers have done.
Jasmine WheelerWhere you go into the industry, you get eaten up because it is a very spiritual place place.
Jasmine WheelerSo if you're not prepared spiritually, you will get eaten up in the industry.
Jasmine WheelerAnd people do it all the time.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then as it happens, then Christians say, see, that's why we don't go into the arts entertainment industry, because people get sucked up into it and they lose their faith.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's like, so either either the gospel doesn't work and the spirit of the Lord isn't actually greater than the spirit that's in the world, or we haven't equipped people to be in these spaces and we just send them out there by themselves, throw them to the wolves, and we don't help them them.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so our passion is to help people, to give them the tools that they need to go and thrive when they're.
Jasmine WheelerWhen they're called to the arts and entertainment industry.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so at this, at this moment, I don't have the exact number in front of me, but I believe it's over.
Jasmine WheelerOur influence at this Moment is over 8 million people in reach of the influencers that we are helping building them up.
Amber FugateThat's amazing.
Jasmine WheelerThat are actually in the industry, acting, doing different things.
Jasmine WheelerSo there's a ton of influencers on social media, actors, singers, songwriters that we work with, we walk with, and we're equipping them, giving them the tools that they need to do what they're called to do.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so it's not a super flashy ministry because it's a very underground thing that we feel like we're called to do.
Jasmine WheelerIt's not secretive, but like we're just called to help people go and influence the world.
Jasmine WheelerSo we're not trying to be the face, we're trying to help the people that are called to be in those places.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I'm super passionate about it.
Jasmine WheelerWe do something called the Creatives Intensive once a year, where it's essentially like a creatives conference, if you will.
Jasmine WheelerIt's just a little more intense.
Jasmine WheelerThat's why we call it an intensive.
Jasmine WheelerYou see what I did there?
Jasmine WheelerBut there's tons of sessions, tons of people who are currently in the industry that come and teach and give away what goes God has done in their life.
Jasmine WheelerI love that we just equip people who feel called to.
Jasmine WheelerThere's usually about 150, 200 creatives that show up.
Jasmine WheelerIt's limited seating.
Jasmine WheelerOur cap is about 200.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we literally just.
Jasmine WheelerWe just pour into them for about three days straight and then create a.
Jasmine WheelerFor them to stay connected afterwards.
Jasmine WheelerSo you know as you're out there that you're not the only one.
Jasmine WheelerThat you're not Elijah.
Jasmine WheelerThat's like, I'm the only one out here, Lord.
Jasmine WheelerAin't nobody else.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the Lord's like, actually, there's thousands that haven't bowed there, need to bail.
Jasmine WheelerWe take joy in showing creatives, you're not the only one that's doing this.
Jasmine WheelerThere's a ton of others of you.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we want to connect them so they can meet each other.
Amber FugateYes.
Amber FugateI absolutely love that it's like discipleship or like creatives intensive discipleship.
Amber FugateBecause it's not just.
Amber FugateIt's.
Amber FugateIt's all.
Amber FugateObviously everything's kingdom based, but then there's also some practicality and sense of, like, doing what you do in that.
Amber FugateAnd because.
Amber FugateBecause I love that you were saying that, you know, there's different categories in that, where people can learn from the different people, whether that's acting and singing and songwriting and media and film and all.
Amber FugateAll the different things.
Amber FugateAnd that is honestly kind of unheard of.
Amber FugateSo that's why I'm like, when I heard that, I was like, whoa, this is different.
Amber FugateBut it makes sense.
Amber FugateAfter hearing your story of, like, the prophetic word that was over your life and an over axel and how that will, I believe it's just.
Amber FugateI think it's just gonna go much higher than you think, and it's going to really cross over, which I think that is probably your heart to go across and pass Texas and everywhere else.
Amber FugateAnd I absolutely love that.
Amber FugateThat just gets me fired up because it's like, hey, the king, like you said, the gospel works.
Amber FugateThe kingdom of God is here.
Amber FugateIt is advancing.
Amber FugateLet's go.
Amber FugateLet's not sit in our, like, four walls and just tweedle our thumbs and sing how great is our God.
Amber FugateLet's actually lead the way.
Amber FugateAnd I like that.
Jasmine WheelerOur God is great.
Jasmine WheelerLet's go.
Jasmine WheelerActually show it.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Amber FugateYes.
Amber FugateActually do it.
Amber FugateIt's amazing what actual things that we actually do.
Amber FugateThat's awesome.
Amber FugateI will leave some links and all that to anybody who wants to get connected with that because I've been encouraged and I know that as you guys put stuff out, intensive and things like that, I know a lot of people will be really encouraged by that.
Amber FugateSo keep doing that, man.
Amber FugateI love Love that you guys do that so much.
Amber FugateSo one thing I want to chat about before we end here is your family.
Amber FugateI just.
Amber FugateI just love your family so much.
Amber FugateSo Jasmine had a baby boy, Ezra.
Amber FugateHe is scrumptious.
Amber FugateHe's so cute.
Amber FugateI just cannot.
Amber FugateHe is just way too cute.
Amber FugateHe's so precious.
Amber FugateAnd, you know.
Amber FugateBut obviously, like, you got married.
Jasmine WheelerWhat.
Amber FugateWhat year did you get married?
Jasmine Wheeler2022.
Jasmine Wheeler2022.
Amber FugateI think it's been a long night.
Amber FugateIt's election.
Amber FugateYeah, Election week.
Jasmine WheelerWhere are we?
Jasmine WheelerWhat year is it?
Jasmine WheelerI think we got married in 2022.
Amber FugateOkay.
Jasmine WheelerAll right.
Jasmine WheelerWe're just over the two year mark.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerOkay.
Amber FugateAll right.
Amber FugateAll right.
Amber FugateAnd then have baby Ezra.
Amber FugateAnd then you guys are in Texas and doing all of that.
Amber FugateAnd I, I again, this story always comes to mind when I was in my kitchen.
Amber FugateI told you this already, but I was in my kitchen.
Amber FugateThe Lord encounters me in the kitchen.
Amber FugateI don't know what it is about the kitchen, but the Lord encounters me in the kitchen.
Amber FugateHe's like, stop what you're doing and just rest.
Amber FugateSo I'm like, cleaning, mind my own business.
Amber FugateAnd I have worship music playing on Alexa and there's a song and I was like, yes.
Amber FugateAnd I'm just like, stop what I'm doing.
Amber FugateI'm worshiping.
Amber FugateAnd then I look on the Alexa because I wanted to, like, save it so I can hear.
Amber FugateAnd it was.
Amber FugateIt was easy by Mercy Culture featuring Jasmine.
Amber FugateI said, oh, my God, it's Jasmine.
Amber FugateI was like, I knew I recognized that voice, number one and number two, I was like, shut up, let's go.
Amber FugateI just could feel.
Amber FugateI don't know.
Amber FugateI just, like, loved.
Amber FugateAnd I felt like I miss her so much.
Amber FugateAnd so I loved.
Amber FugateSo again, I mean, we.
Amber FugateI mean, I follow you.
Amber FugateI've been following you forever.
Amber FugateSo I, like, went back on your profile.
Amber FugateI'm like, what's she doing?
Amber FugateBecause, like, she's on my heart now, like, stalking her.
Amber FugateAnd like, she had a baby.
Amber FugateShe had this.
Amber FugateI'm like, what?
Amber FugateShe had a baby?
Amber FugateAnd then she dropped an album.
Amber FugateI don't.
Amber FugateI don't know.
Amber FugateLike, I need to get my life together if she's having a baby.
Amber FugateAnd then the next day, dropping a song about a baby.
Amber FugateAll the things I know.
Amber FugateYes.
Amber FugateBut then when we talked about it, I was like, okay, I get, I get the wrong.
Amber FugateBut please talk about that song.
Amber FugateSo it's a song about baby.
Amber FugateI want to hear.
Amber FugateYeah, tell us, Tell us.
Jasmine WheelerYeah, it's called Little Baby I recorded it the summer before I had the baby, so it's not as impressive as it seems.
Jasmine WheelerI recorded the year summer before I had the baby.
Jasmine WheelerI recorded it and then knew I was supposed to release it right after I had the baby.
Jasmine WheelerI timed it.
Jasmine WheelerI really.
Jasmine WheelerI put it online.
Jasmine WheelerBaby K.
Jasmine WheelerAnd no, I wrote the song several years ago.
Jasmine WheelerI think I actually started writing the song in 2014, and I finished the song while I was in the studio.
Jasmine WheelerI wrote it for a couple that had just adopted a baby in 2014, and they asked me to write a song for the baby they adopted.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I started it and then didn't do much with it.
Jasmine WheelerI just sent them the recording of it and kind of kept it moving.
Jasmine WheelerAnd then the summer before I had the baby, the Lord began to speak to me about the song again and said, you know, that he wanted me to finish it.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so the song is.
Jasmine WheelerI mean, it is exactly what we're talking about, these kingdom songs.
Jasmine WheelerWe.
Jasmine WheelerYeah, we are celebrating.
Jasmine WheelerWe've celebrated this year, at least I've celebrated this year.
Jasmine WheelerI think both of us, all of us, the overturning of Roe v.
Jasmine WheelerWade.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I think that really, it's really beautiful.
Jasmine WheelerIt's major.
Jasmine WheelerHowever, if we change laws but hearts are not reformed, we don't make.
Jasmine WheelerWe don't take all of the ground that we could take for the Kingdom.
Jasmine WheelerIt can't be that there's just laws.
Jasmine WheelerBut our culturally people don't value life.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I believe that God will give us songs as a generation that disciple people into valuing life and seeing the beauty of being a.
Jasmine WheelerOf having babies, of children, you know, and so we're dealing with a generation that doesn't value life right now, across the board, can see it in multiple ways, that doesn't value family or life.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so my greatest joy in having this baby was getting to put motherhood and the beauty of life on display for anybody who listened.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so that was part behind releasing the song is just bringing attention to the beauty of life, the beauty of having children.
Amber FugateThere's a.
Jasmine WheelerThere's a line in it that says, I've been thinking.
Jasmine WheelerI've been thinking about how my life has changed.
Jasmine WheelerI will never be the same now that I have you.
Jasmine WheelerI've been thinking about why the world can't see value in a life.
Jasmine WheelerWe need a little more life in our lives.
Jasmine WheelerJust know that the world needs you.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so literally behind the song is like, yeah, you notice that we don't value life, but, like, look at this baby yeah.
Jasmine WheelerLook at this child.
Jasmine WheelerDo you really not value life?
Jasmine WheelerLike, we need more life in our lives, you know?
Amber FugateRight, Absolutely.
Jasmine WheelerSo, anyway, I'm not trying to preach to the choir, but, like, that was the heart behind that, specifically.
Amber FugateYeah, yeah, no, absolutely.
Amber FugateI.
Amber FugateI had a.
Amber FugateA moment where I was.
Amber FugateI don't know, I was at some store, and I was walking back to my car, and I saw a lady who was pregnant.
Amber FugateAnd for whatever reason, I mean, I always see pregnant people because, well, majority of people.
Amber FugateThere's a lot of people that are pregnant in the world.
Amber FugateAnd I had a flashback moment.
Amber FugateThe Lord said, do you remember what a baby feels like inside?
Amber FugateBecause it's been a minute since I've had a baby.
Amber FugateOkay, we are done.
Amber FugateWe have three Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
Amber FugateWe got the whole trinity.
Amber FugateWe're good up.
Amber FugateAnd so.
Amber FugateAnd the Lord said, do you remember that?
Amber FugateAnd I thought, like, lord, I don't want any more babies.
Amber FugateI don't know if that's what you're trying to tell me.
Amber FugateHe's like, do you remember feeling actual movement?
Amber FugateLike the baby was aware of you, aware of your voice, aware of what was around, Heartbeat, all that.
Amber FugateAnd I just sat in my car and I sobbed.
Amber FugateLike, life, life, actual.
Amber FugateGod knew by name who this baby is and was going to be and will be, and he values and loves them deeply.
Amber FugateAnd I was like, I can't imagine saying, nah, I can't imagine.
Amber FugateI just can't imagine that.
Jasmine WheelerNo, I was.
Jasmine WheelerAmber, My husband and I went to see a movie.
Jasmine WheelerWe had a marriage retreat this past weekend.
Jasmine WheelerWe went to see a movie on our marriage retreat.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we're.
Jasmine WheelerWe're just.
Jasmine WheelerWe're awesome humans.
Jasmine WheelerSo we went to watch this, like, cartoon movie that just came out, and I think it's called.
Jasmine WheelerI don't want to say the name of it, because I don't want to put them on blast.
Jasmine WheelerI don't know.
Jasmine WheelerMaybe I should say.
Jasmine WheelerI don't know.
Jasmine WheelerBut it was this cartoon movie that just came out.
Jasmine WheelerIt's called Wild Robot is what it's called.
Amber FugateOh, yeah.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the first 30 minutes to an hour of the movie, my husband and I were appalled because everything in the first 30 minutes to an hour of this movie is literally.
Jasmine WheelerIt felt morbid the way they were displaying babies in motherhood.
Jasmine WheelerLike, it was, like, dark.
Jasmine WheelerIt was.
Jasmine WheelerOkay.
Jasmine WheelerIt was like death, the way that they were displaying or portraying motherhood and family.
Jasmine WheelerFamily and babies.
Jasmine WheelerAnd eventually they.
Jasmine WheelerThey, like, said the point.
Jasmine WheelerBut it, like, took too long to get there to it to where it felt like they sold a lot of seeds that were unnecessary in the people.
Amber FugateNo.
Jasmine WheelerAnd babies life.
Jasmine WheelerLike, just the several scenes.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I was like, man, is this where we are as a culture?
Jasmine WheelerBecause my husband and I are in the real world.
Jasmine WheelerWe're almost crying because of the way it's portraying children.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I'm listening in the room, and people are laughing at these jokes, and I'm like, maybe we're just.
Jasmine WheelerMaybe Connor and I are just a little intense.
Amber FugateI don't know.
Jasmine WheelerBut I felt like.
Jasmine WheelerI felt like it was.
Jasmine WheelerIt was a picture of where our culture is that, like, jokes like that are not funny when people are being told and taught that motherhood is just the worst and it's so horrible, and people wish they didn't have children, and it's just their obligation and just, like, things like that.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I'm like, man, well, this is why.
Jasmine WheelerThis is why we don't value life.
Jasmine WheelerThis is why Gen Z doesn't value life, is because there's things like this, again, arts and entertainment that are sowing seeds of how hard motherhood is and how horrible it is.
Jasmine WheelerAnd da, da, da, da.
Jasmine WheelerDon't have a baby.
Jasmine WheelerDon't be a mom.
Jasmine WheelerDon't.
Jasmine WheelerWhatever.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's like, no, no, no.
Jasmine WheelerThis is one of the greatest honors and gifts of life.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerThat there ever was.
Jasmine WheelerIs to be a mom and carry life in your womb.
Jasmine WheelerIt's just what it is.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I feel.
Amber FugateI don't.
Jasmine WheelerI can't think of a greater honor in my life that I've ever felt than to be a mom.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I mean that, like, sincerely.
Jasmine WheelerLike, just.
Jasmine WheelerIt's so deep for me, and I just.
Jasmine WheelerI love it.
Jasmine WheelerI love it.
Amber FugateYeah.
Amber FugateBecause when you become a mom, really, everything shifts too.
Amber FugateYou're like, whoa.
Amber FugateYour whole worldview.
Amber FugateI mean, from the moment they even had your baby, the moment that you had Ezra, your instinct and your heart and your every.
Jasmine WheelerEverything changes.
Amber FugateWas just, like, drastic, night and day.
Amber FugateAnd it makes you.
Amber FugateIt's.
Amber FugateIt really tugs on your heart.
Amber FugateBecause God is like, saying, I want you to feel that way because this is how much I feel, if not more for you.
Amber FugateAnd there's, like, a beautiful contrast, and it just.
Amber FugateI agree.
Amber FugateAnd motherhood is hard.
Amber FugateDon't get it twisted, okay?
Amber FugateI'm a mom of three.
Amber FugateThere's hard things.
Amber FugateBut, yes, it does not outweigh the joy.
Jasmine WheelerYeah, but people don't enjoy.
Jasmine WheelerThey only talk about the hard part instead of talking about also the greater joy and the greater honor that it is.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so then people get a bad taste in their mouth, and they just think, okay, well, this isn't important.
Jasmine WheelerThis isn't valuable.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's just.
Jasmine WheelerIt's not helpful in the culture.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerTo speak to your point about everything changing.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerLike, recently, I've gotten a little bit more involved in the social media space with, like, the political realm and just speaking out about things.
Jasmine WheelerAnd people keep sending me messages, and they're like, what happened?
Jasmine WheelerLike, it was like a switch just turned on and you just going off about everything.
Jasmine WheelerLike, what's going on?
Jasmine WheelerBecause it literally just shifted.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the.
Jasmine WheelerLike, as I'm processing it, there's a lot to that story, but one of the main things that has happened is I have a child, and that's it.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerI feel that mama bear in me, like, yeah, like, you.
Jasmine WheelerY'all better stop playing.
Amber FugateY'all better stop playing.
Jasmine WheelerY'all better stop playing.
Jasmine WheelerBecause the world that I'm going to leave for my son.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerLike, if I have anything to do with it, it will be a better world than what I had to live in and what I had to live in.
Jasmine WheelerIf I have anything to do with that.
Jasmine WheelerLike, on my watch.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerRight.
Amber FugateI'm not.
Jasmine WheelerHe's not going to grow up and wonder, mom, why didn't you speak up when all the babies were being aborted in your generation?
Jasmine WheelerWhy didn't you talk about the.
Jasmine WheelerThe deception that was hitting the black.
Jasmine WheelerBlack Americans and black Christians in America?
Jasmine WheelerWhy didn't you speak up when they were letting men be in.
Jasmine WheelerBiological men be in bathrooms with women?
Jasmine WheelerWhy didn't you speak up?
Jasmine WheelerAnd they were giving children puberty blockers and letting little kids make decisions that will forever change their life.
Jasmine WheelerAnd transgenderism.
Jasmine WheelerHow come you didn't see anything?
Jasmine WheelerLike, my child is not going to have to ask that question.
Amber FugateThat's right.
Jasmine WheelerIt's that mom that's coming up that's like, nobody's gonna dupe me with the lie that you got to be quiet because you're a worship leader and because you're a pastor and you don't get to speak up for the next generation and speak.
Jasmine WheelerNo, no, no.
Amber FugateYes, ma'am.
Jasmine WheelerI have a child.
Jasmine WheelerMy greater calling.
Jasmine WheelerBefore that, I'm a mom.
Jasmine WheelerLike, the Lord trusted me with a seat with his seed in the earth.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Amber FugateRight.
Jasmine WheelerSo anyway, I.
Jasmine WheelerI'm not.
Jasmine WheelerI would love that.
Amber FugateNo, you're good.
Amber FugateI was.
Amber FugateThis is all extra, so if you're not interested in listening, that's okay.
Amber FugateBut I just, like, not you, Jasmine.
Amber FugateEveryone Else listening.
Amber FugateBut I was watching a clip the other day, and you're talking about how, like, there is, like, a real fear of you that you feel.
Amber FugateOf, like, you doing that, you speaking up.
Amber FugateYou're like, how is this going to affect my family?
Amber FugateAnd I think about that all the time because it's like, okay, I stand for something and everyone knows it.
Amber FugateHow does this affect, you know, my kids and my family as we step out into things?
Amber FugateYou have this fear of, like, what's going to happen to us, in a sense, you know, obviously, people are going to talk, people are going to hate you, unfollow you, all the things, and that is fine.
Amber FugateBut there is that fear, you know, especially as a mom, you're like, oh, my goodness, I want to protect my kids, but I also don't want to, like, make things worse.
Jasmine WheelerRight.
Amber FugateYou know what I mean?
Amber FugateRight.
Amber FugateWhat did you find from that?
Amber FugateLike, what was your outcome of, like, okay, you can.
Amber FugateYou can go as long.
Amber FugateI mean, long shirt, whatever you want.
Amber FugateI just.
Amber FugateThis is me wanting to know.
Amber FugateThis is friend to friend.
Jasmine WheelerYou get me riled up talking about this.
Jasmine WheelerOkay.
Jasmine WheelerI think.
Jasmine WheelerOh, Amber.
Jasmine WheelerI think I could cry thinking about it.
Jasmine WheelerI think.
Jasmine WheelerSo I had a moment with the Lord a few weeks ago where I was processing that exact thought of just, like, the fears of people and my family.
Jasmine WheelerAnd how is all.
Jasmine WheelerHow is me speaking up about these things ultimately going to, like, how is it going to affect my immediate temporal world?
Jasmine WheelerAnd I felt like the Lord spoke to me and was like, you can either be quiet and you take protecting your family into your own hands by, like, trying to preserve yourself and to preserve your family.
Jasmine WheelerYou can either do that and disobey me and not, like, step out and speak out as I'm inviting you to, or you can obey me and do the things that I'm inviting you into and trust me.
Jasmine WheelerAnd when you do that, give me permission to protect your family.
Amber FugateOh, my goodness.
Jasmine WheelerDo you trust your family with your hands or with mine?
Jasmine WheelerWho better do you want?
Jasmine WheelerYou know, like, what's your choice?
Jasmine WheelerYou think you have a better job in your family than me?
Jasmine WheelerYou pick, you know, and it was just one of those moments where I was like, lord, my shoulders aren't wide enough, My arms aren't long enough to protect my family in my own.
Jasmine WheelerIn my own strength.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I'm gonna obey you, which in turn allows you to do your part in protecting my family.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so that's just.
Jasmine WheelerThat's just where I've been.
Jasmine WheelerThat's just the decision that I made, it reminds me of Esther and Mordecai.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's in Esther 4, I believe, where I believe it's Mordecai talking to Esther.
Jasmine WheelerAnd he said, says.
Jasmine WheelerHe says, esther, are you aware that, like.
Jasmine WheelerLike, basically, whether you speak up or not, like, this is going to come for your family too at some point?
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerYou think that if you're quiet that you're going to protect your family.
Jasmine WheelerBut do you know that we're like, whether you speak up or not, this is going to knock at your door.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so the.
Jasmine WheelerHer response of this, the line we all love of if I perish, I perish is saying, like, okay, like, I can either speak up and lose everything or be quiet and lose everything anyway.
Amber FugateYeah.
Amber FugateRight.
Amber FugateYou know what I'm saying?
Amber FugateYeah.
Amber FugateThat's just your option.
Amber FugateYeah.
Jasmine WheelerSo I'm just in this vein right now where I'm like, man, Lord, like, I'm going to speak up when you tell me to say something and you highlight something and you show me an injustice somewhere.
Jasmine WheelerWhen you show me a mountain that needs to be leveled, a valley that needs to be leveled.
Jasmine WheelerIsaiah, I believe it's Isaiah 43, where they talk about.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it talks about it in John as well, preparing the way for the Lord.
Jasmine WheelerAnd what used to happen back in the day is when a king was coming into a new territory, a new place, there were people that went before the king who would have to literally level out mountains and valleys so that the king didn't have any problems coming into a new territory, so that it was just.
Jasmine WheelerIt was easy for the king to come in.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so when I was praying at the top of the year about all this stuff, I'm like, lord, what do you want me to do?
Jasmine WheelerDo you want me to speak up?
Jasmine WheelerNot like, what do you want me to do?
Jasmine WheelerAnd I felt like he was saying, your only assignment is to talk to the mountains and to talk to the valleys.
Jasmine WheelerWhen I show you a mountain that needs to be leveled so I can come in, you talk to it.
Amber FugateThat's so good.
Jasmine WheelerWhen I show you a valley that needs to be leveled, you talk to it.
Jasmine WheelerYou don't got to talk to everything that everybody's talking to, but when I show you a mountain, you better speak.
Amber FugateThat's so good.
Jasmine WheelerThat's been my assignment.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I don't.
Jasmine WheelerI don't comment on everybody's everything.
Jasmine WheelerI don't try to talk about everything happening in culture.
Jasmine WheelerBut when I'm sitting in my room and I'm Scrolling.
Jasmine WheelerAnd something just starts to go off for me.
Jasmine WheelerI'm like, okay, I gotta say something about this.
Jasmine WheelerI have to speak here.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerSo I just been trying to be obedient to that.
Jasmine WheelerBut the truth is, it's costing us right now on a temporal level.
Jasmine WheelerThe most that it's costing is a few angry comments and messages and some awkward conversations with family members and maybe some family members that won't talk to me the same as they used to because of where I stand on things.
Jasmine WheelerYeah, we're not in an hour where it costs us our life.
Amber FugateLike, yeah, we're not there.
Jasmine WheelerAnd, like, mean comments is that.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's just not right.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so as I started to speak out and talk about stuff, the first wave of hard comments has been family and friends that, that have known me the most in high school and in college that are shocked.
Jasmine WheelerThose are the worst messages that I'm getting.
Jasmine WheelerEverything else after that, when people share it and it gets.
Jasmine WheelerThe people that don't, don't know me from a can of paint, I don't care what they see.
Jasmine WheelerThey know me from campaign.
Jasmine WheelerI don't care.
Jasmine WheelerLike, like, you know, it doesn't, it doesn't sting.
Jasmine WheelerThe thing that stings the most is just that first layer of friends and family that disagree.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I can deal with that if it means more people being free, more people being truth being revealed to people.
Jasmine WheelerLike, the number of messages that I get from people saying, thank you for saying this.
Jasmine WheelerI needed to hear this, or I never knew this.
Jasmine WheelerThis just changed my whole perspective.
Jasmine WheelerThe number for every one mean angry message I get, I get like 5 to 10 messages from people saying, thank you so much.
Jasmine WheelerAnd it's yes.
Amber FugateYeah.
Amber FugateAnd it definitely has been impactful.
Amber FugateLike, I will say, I know that I know you.
Amber FugateI know your heart.
Amber FugateEven if you said something, I was like, but I don't say anything like that.
Amber FugateBut when you say stuff, people listen because.
Amber FugateAnd it's just like a requestioning.
Amber FugateLike, I love how you, when you do those videos, you're like, okay, so this is what happened.
Amber FugateLet's look at that for a minute.
Amber FugateLike, you, you know, you're not just giving us the.
Amber FugateWell, I think that, that, that, that you're like, this is a situation.
Amber FugateThink about that for a minute.
Amber FugateDoes that make sense?
Amber FugateAnd it helps people process.
Amber FugateAt least it's helped me process.
Amber FugateAnd I've just been super, super help or thankful for your outspokenness.
Amber FugateAnd I know.
Amber FugateAnd people like you and people that I follow and people that I'm in relationship with, like, I pray for you because people like that and I know it is a cost.
Amber FugateI know that this is hard for you in a sense of like, it's easy for you to send it because you want to be obedient to the Lord, but it's hard internally in your mind and your heart, dealing with everything coming at you left and right.
Amber FugateAnd so I just like, like, I honor you for doing that.
Amber FugateAnd I'm super thankful that you are definitely a voice, a John the Baptist, in a sense, a voice out saying, let's prepare the way.
Amber FugateLet's make the road flat so the kingdom or so the king can come in for a clean and pure bride.
Amber FugateAnd so thank you for doing that, but I know how hard that must be.
Amber FugateAnd I'm just praying for you and your family and Landon and Heather and all you guys.
Amber FugateI just really, really appreciate how you guys have just been.
Amber FugateAnd just you speak and you speak truth and you stand for truth, and I, like, really, really appreciate that.
Amber FugateAnd I appreciate you being vulnerable right now with that.
Amber FugateI know that's like your vulnerable person.
Amber FugateYou'll talk about stuff, but, you know, it's been an interesting year in a sense.
Amber FugateYou know, election year, all the things.
Amber FugateAnd there's a lot of stuff happening, a lot of at stake.
Amber FugateAnd I'm just super thankful that you are doing just that.
Amber FugateYou're letting God take care of your family.
Amber FugateYou're letting God be the one whose hands are on it.
Amber FugateAnd that is such an encouragement to me as well.
Amber FugateLike, okay, I need to remember that it's not in my hands, it's not what I can do, but it is in what God can do.
Amber FugateAnd so thank you so much for doing that.
Amber FugateWell, on my notes, we didn't even.
Amber FugateWe didn't do any of that, which is fine.
Amber FugateAnd I'm so thankful for it because again, I know.
Amber FugateGet out of here.
Amber FugateThis is just a table to table talk, face to face talk that I like to have with people who I really honor and trust and I want to grow from.
Amber FugateAnd I know that it has helped.
Amber FugateThis conversation has helped lots and lots of people and has inspired me and I'm going to listen back to it many, many times.
Amber FugateBut to end our time, I would love if you would pray for us.
Amber FugateUs.
Amber FugateYes, you can.
Amber FugateWe talked about so many different things, but honestly, like, whatever you feel led to pray.
Amber FugateI mean, we talked.
Amber FugateWe talked about a lot.
Amber FugateBut you know, in the, in, in the day that we're in, you know, the day after the election, and everything kind of like, okay, where we.
Amber FugateWhere are we going?
Amber FugateOkay, now what do we do?
Amber FugateI know that our world most needs just peace and just unity.
Amber FugateAnd so anyways, I would love if you just pray on anything that you feel led, but pray for those who are listen, and then we'll end our time there.
Jasmine WheelerYeah.
Jasmine WheelerWell, Lord, thank you for every person listening to this podcast.
Jasmine WheelerThank you for any way, in every way that you have ministered to people, any and every way that you have spoke to people and that you have revealed yourself to them in a new way.
Jasmine WheelerI just pray that what you've done in my life that you would do in their life.
Jasmine WheelerI'm specifically thinking of and referring to the scripture, my Life Scripture, Ephesians 5:10, to find out what pleases the Lord.
Jasmine WheelerLord, I prayed that you would give them grace, the empowerment that only comes by your spirit to find out what's pleasing to you, whether it's in the political realm, whether it's on social media, whether it's in arts and entertainment, it's the things, the gifts that you put in their hands, whatever it is, Lord, I just pray that you give them grace, give them a passion, give them obsession to find out what's pleasing to you in every area of their life.
Jasmine WheelerLord, I pray that you would speak to them so clearly.
Jasmine WheelerI pray for dreams in the night, for visions in the day, that you would show them what it looks like for them to walk in boldness with you in this season, whether it's stepping out in songs and film and acting in fashion, or whether it's speaking up on social media, I pray that you would show them and teach them that boldness is pleasing to you.
Jasmine WheelerI pray for an impartial sense of boldness to even go through this, this, this the speakers right now as we pray.
Jasmine WheelerNo matter when they're listening, no matter where they're listening, in their car, in their house, in the kitchen, I pray for boldness to rest on them, even right now.
Jasmine WheelerAnd I pray that the prayer that I feel like is what we carry as a house, as mercy, culture, church.
Jasmine WheelerLord, I just declare the ease of heaven over them.
Jasmine WheelerYour word says that your yoke is easy and that your burden is light.
Jasmine WheelerEven hard things become easy in your presence.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so I just pray that you would the revelation of your yoke being easy, that if they're yoking with their own efforts, if they're yoking with some other idolatry, some other motive, that.
Jasmine WheelerThat it's hard.
Jasmine WheelerBut I just pray that you would show them that when they yoke themselves with you, just finding out what's pleasing to you, just doing it with you, that it's easy.
Jasmine WheelerAnd the Lord, I just pray over them, no spirit is welcome.
Jasmine WheelerBut the Holy Spirit, yes, speaks fear, the spirit of fear, the spirit of anxiety, that foul spirit that may be trying to rest on people as a result of elections, as a result of what's happening in culture, what's happening in the world.
Jasmine WheelerI just command fear to go.
Jasmine WheelerI pray for the peace of God to rest on your people.
Jasmine WheelerI pray for supernatural rest to rest on your people.
Jasmine WheelerI pray for hope and faith and love to be.
Jasmine WheelerTo fill your people even as they listen right now.
Jasmine WheelerI pray that even as they turn this podcast off, that they will find themselves full of hope in a way that they haven't been in years and in months.
Jasmine WheelerLord, I pray that you would fill your people with faith, hope and love.
Jasmine WheelerAnd so, Jesus, we love you.
Jasmine WheelerThank you, Jesus.
Jasmine WheelerAnd we just say, you can have your glory.
Jasmine WheelerCome get your glory in our lives.
Jasmine WheelerYou deserve all the glory that's due to you.
Jasmine WheelerCome get what you're.
Jasmine WheelerWhat you're deserving of in our lives.
Jasmine WheelerSo we love you, Jesus.
Jasmine WheelerName.
Jasmine WheelerAmen.
Amber FugateAmen.
Amber FugateAmen.
Amber FugateAmen.
Amber FugateThank you so much, Jasmine.
Amber FugateThis, yeah, this whole conversation was amazing.
Amber FugateAnd I just am so encouraged and inspired, but drawn, which is the whole point of this podcast, is I'm drawn to the center and the why of why we worship.
Amber FugateAnd that's Jesus.
Amber FugateI just wanna now, it's just like after I leave this podcast room, I just wanna now sit at his feet.
Amber FugateI just wanna receive what he wants me to do.
Amber FugateAnd in that boldness and alignment, that is the whole point of this podcast.
Amber FugateIt's not even like all the different topics.
Amber FugateIt's like, how are we gonna draw you back to the feet of Jesus, Jesus over and over and over again.
Amber FugateSo thank you.
Amber FugateThank you so much, friend.

Amber FugateHoly reverence, fomo.
Amber FugateOkay.
Amber FugateJust watching, I'm just like, oh, my gosh.
Amber FugateAnd one thing that I've actually kind of adapted from mercy culture is one thing I say in our house often is fear, go, Holy Spirit, come.
Amber FugateFear, go, Holy Spirit, come.
Amber FugateI know that's like a, you know, Bible, but you guys say it often.
Amber FugateAnd I just, like, love watching all you.
Amber FugateYour videos and photos.
Amber FugateAnd I love Landon.
Amber FugateHe says it's like this every week.
Amber FugateIt's fire every week.
