Speaker BYour voice matters.
Kristen ChadwickHey, everyone, welcome.
Kristen ChadwickMy name is Kristen Chadwick and I am your podcast coach and your podcast host.
Kristen ChadwickAnd today we are dropping into a three part series where we're going to be talking about finding your voice.
Kristen ChadwickAnd along with this podcast episode series is going to be an accompanying journal that I have created for you and for myself to just sit down and have some time with Jesus, our creator, Holy Spirit, and just dig in.
Kristen ChadwickIt's going to be an opportunity for you to sit and listen and I'm really excited about it.
Kristen ChadwickSo we're going to dive in.
Kristen ChadwickOkay, so I've been really struggling to write and record this episode because I can't say I've completely figured this out.
Kristen ChadwickFinding my voice.
Kristen ChadwickSo how do I encourage you to find your voice?
Kristen ChadwickWhen I struggle to find my own voice, some days it's easy to lean on other people's voices, especially as an enneagram 9.
Kristen ChadwickYou tend to meld well with others and their opinions and their thoughts and their stories and keep the peace.
Kristen ChadwickRight?
Kristen ChadwickBut we all have this unique thumbprint called Our Voice.
Kristen ChadwickWe are all uniquely designed by a creator who had us in mind since the beginning of time.
Kristen ChadwickAnd even though I have struggled and this has been one of my biggest questions as of late is really discovering my own voice.
Kristen ChadwickIt has been a sweet journey to sit here and think about this series with the Lord.
Kristen ChadwickAnd it's really been healing and helpful for me to wrap my brain around.
Kristen ChadwickWhat is finding your voice?
Kristen ChadwickWhat does that look like?
Kristen ChadwickLast week on my podcast, you might have heard my friend Matt Labrie.
Kristen ChadwickI encourage you to go listen.
Kristen ChadwickBut he quoted the great Dr.
Kristen ChadwickSeuss and he said, no one is more you are than you.
Kristen ChadwickAnd there's so much truth here.
Kristen ChadwickNo one has lived a life as uniquely as you.
Kristen ChadwickAnd you've grown up in the way that you have.
Kristen ChadwickYou've got a beautiful personality filled with quirks and strengths and weaknesses.
Kristen ChadwickAnd as my late dad would often say, Chrissy, everyone has a story.
Kristen ChadwickAnd some really.
Kristen ChadwickSome people really have hard stories that are woven into their lives.
Kristen ChadwickI would say most everybody has A hard story that you have walked through.
Kristen ChadwickSome stories you have had triumphant victories, and some stories have tragic grief.
Kristen ChadwickThese stories that we all go through all affect us consciously and subconsciously.
Kristen ChadwickAnd our story influences our own voice.
Kristen ChadwickSo as I was writing and pondering through, this is really cool because our story is so connected to our voice and it is so connected to our identity.
Kristen ChadwickWe have to start with where and what and who God says we are.
Kristen ChadwickWe all have stories of words that have been spoken over us, some more uplifting and encouraging.
Kristen ChadwickAnd some of us have stories of wounds that have deeply affected us.
Kristen ChadwickNo matter what, we have the DNA of someone who is well loved, chosen, and even called a fellow in the brother and sisterhood of Jesus.
Kristen ChadwickJesus gave up everything for us to be his family and to access really our true kingdom identity.
Kristen ChadwickSo start asking for Holy Spirit to speak to you directly about who he has created you to be.
Kristen ChadwickThis is where we begin.
Kristen ChadwickAnd it starts with the one who breathes air into your lungs on the daily and since the day that you were conceived in your mother's womb.
Kristen ChadwickThis is so personal to God.
Kristen ChadwickOur stories, our voice, who we are, how we show up.
Kristen ChadwickI was reading and studying inside of Genesis 1 the other day and going through the account of the creation, and I noticed something that I had never noticed before.
Kristen ChadwickGod beautifully creates the mountains, the oceans, the birds, the animals, all of nature.
Kristen ChadwickGod created.
Kristen ChadwickIt says that over and over again.
Kristen ChadwickGod created the day.
Kristen ChadwickGod created the night.
Kristen ChadwickGod.
Kristen ChadwickGod created the mountains and the birds and the.
Kristen ChadwickAnd the animals of the land.
Kristen ChadwickHe created it.
Kristen ChadwickHe alone created.
Kristen ChadwickThen in verse 26, it switches over to let us.
Kristen ChadwickFather, Son, Holy Spirit.
Kristen ChadwickI have.
Kristen ChadwickI have noticed that where Holy Spirit and Jesus were there from the beginning of time, but here is where the shift in the.
Kristen ChadwickIn that spirit moment where it hits your heart afresh.
Kristen ChadwickLet us make man in our image according to our like likeness right here.
Kristen ChadwickWhat hit me was that it states in this section that really it became personal when God made you in your mother's Womb.
Kristen ChadwickIn Psalm 139, it became personal.
Kristen ChadwickSo God created all of these things.
Kristen ChadwickThen, you know, you look outside your window right now I'm looking outside my window and it's snowing.
Kristen ChadwickHe created the ability for it to snow, to rain, to have worms come up out of the ground when it rains for the food, for the birds.
Kristen ChadwickThat's incredible.
Kristen ChadwickHe created that.
Kristen ChadwickBut I love that there's intentionality in the Word where it says, let us make man in our own image according to our likeness.
Kristen ChadwickHe involved The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, God and one.
Kristen ChadwickIt was a team effort and it became personal.
Kristen ChadwickHe personally designed you.
Kristen ChadwickHe knit you together.
Kristen ChadwickFriend, I know that I have the honor to be inside of your head right now.
Kristen ChadwickAnd I hope you hear this truth that he created you, personally designed you, and he has made this personal.
Kristen ChadwickThe Trinity has made this personal.
Kristen ChadwickNot only is it personal, but it also says at the end of this chapter, in Genesis, God saw everything that he made.
Kristen ChadwickAnd behold, it was very good.
Kristen ChadwickAnd he validated it completely.
Kristen ChadwickThe Greek word right there.
Kristen ChadwickAnd what I learned for very good means muchness good.
Kristen ChadwickI love that so much.
Kristen ChadwickSo if God has made you and called you muchness good, and he has walked with you since the beginning of the time when he knew you would come in this year, in these years when, when sometimes we question what, what is happening in my life.
Kristen ChadwickBut he has created you.
Kristen ChadwickHe has made you.
Kristen ChadwickHe has called you muchness good.
Kristen ChadwickAnd he has walked with you your entire life.
Kristen ChadwickWhether you knew him or you knew his presence, he has been there all along.
Kristen ChadwickHe has never left you.
Kristen ChadwickHe has never forsaken you, ever.
Kristen ChadwickAnd now until forever.
Kristen ChadwickAnd he is the source of our understanding of our true identity, our kingdom identity, our capital T, truth identity.
Kristen ChadwickThis is where our real anchoring comes in.
Kristen ChadwickOne of the most beautiful prayers around identity is from Augustine.
Kristen ChadwickGrant Lord, that I may know myself, that I may know thee.
Kristen ChadwickDavid Benner, another amazing author.
Kristen ChadwickOne of my all time favorite books, the Gift of Knowing Yourself, writes how the two go hand in hand of knowing yourself and knowing God.
Kristen ChadwickAnd John Calvin said inside of this book, in the institutes of the Christian religion, there is no deep knowing of God without a deep knowing of self.
Kristen ChadwickAnd no deep knowing of self without a deep knowing of God.
Kristen ChadwickHow intimate of an experience, you guys.
Kristen ChadwickThe more we get to know ourselves, our story, the more we understand who he is.
Kristen ChadwickThis is anchoring our identity roots us into the midst of our story.
Kristen ChadwickSo we're going to pause here because I want you to take a moment and I want you to sit quietly with the Creator, the One who is anxiously waiting for you to sit before him and ask questions.
Kristen ChadwickYou may be driving or walking or doing something else.
Kristen ChadwickAnd I encourage you to pause and take out your journal, the downloadable journal that's down in the link in the show notes.
Kristen ChadwickOr grab your own journal and put on some worship music in the background, like Bethel's without words, or some sort of instrumental soaking type of music.
Kristen ChadwickSomething really to allow your heart to hear and respond and be still and Know that he is God.
Kristen ChadwickHe loves to speak his sheep.
Kristen ChadwickKnow his voice.
Kristen ChadwickAnd I pray over your time with him to be so sweet.
Kristen ChadwickAnd if you already know your identity in Christ, I invite you to allow him to speak to you personally today.
Kristen ChadwickAnd if you have a chance, I want you to respond to your creator.
Kristen ChadwickAnd remember, God is love Himself, everyone.
Kristen ChadwickWell, I would say a very popular passage in The Bible is First Corinthians 13, and it's all about describing love.
Kristen ChadwickLove is patient.
Kristen ChadwickLove is kind.
Kristen ChadwickLove keeps no record of wrong.
Kristen ChadwickIf you read through that, just note that is describing God himself.
Kristen ChadwickHe is love.
Kristen ChadwickAnd so that is the filter and the lens that we get to hear his amazing voice.
Kristen ChadwickSo I want you to pause and I want you to reflect on these two questions.
Kristen ChadwickWho do you say God is?
Kristen ChadwickFirst, I want you to just sit there and write out, who do you say God is?
Kristen ChadwickThe second question is, who does he say you are?
Kristen ChadwickWho does he say you are?
Kristen ChadwickAnd friends, we're going to start here because our identity is the very beginning, the foundation of understanding how to find our voice.
Kristen ChadwickAnd next week on part two, we're going to dive into what is our kingdom, identity and how God personally wants to speak to you.
Kristen ChadwickAnd I'll share a little bit about my story and my own testimony.
Kristen ChadwickAnd I'm excited to hear from you, you guys.
Kristen ChadwickI would love for you to download that free journal.
Kristen ChadwickIt's really beautiful.
Kristen ChadwickI loved making it on Canva and I would love to hear how it's going.
Kristen ChadwickIf you need me to pray, if you need me to help you start this process of finding your voice, because it's really important as podcasters to know who we are, how we're showing up in the world, what has God called us to share as our message, our voice?
Kristen ChadwickAnd I want you to know you are seen and you are heard and you are known by a God who created you long ago in your mother's womb with purpose and intentionality.
Kristen ChadwickAll right, take care you guys.
Kristen ChadwickI'm praying for your time.
