Speaker A

Hi, how are you?

Speaker A

Hopefully you've been enjoying Adventures in the Heart of Children's Book Authors Podcast.

Speaker A

Over the last several months, I've been able to interview some incredible children's book authors and develop great relationships.

Speaker A

It's just been an incredible journey.

Speaker A

Recently, I was asked if I could help one of our guests, Darcy Gyant, help him launch his next children's book.

Speaker A

What a great honor to be asked to be part of his book launch team.

Speaker A

Now you might be asking, what is a book launch team?

Speaker A

First, I'd like to remind you of an old African saying, it takes a village to raise a child, and you probably have heard that saying before.

Speaker A

So what does it take to launch a children's book?

Speaker A

Let me peel back the curtain a bit and explain to you what I've been asked to do as part of the book launch team.

Speaker A

First of all, the name of the Darcy Guyant's new book is Some Angels have Rotor Blades.

Speaker A

What Darcy asked of me was the following.

Speaker A

Darcy asked me to be part of the of his book launch team.

Speaker A

I said, darcy, thank you very much for asking.

Speaker A

You're more than welcome to my support and I'd love to to do whatever I can do to encourage readers to support your new book.

Speaker A

Darcy said, thank you, Rick.

Speaker A

I said, what?

Speaker A

What does it entail?

Speaker A

And he said, well, first thing, I'd love to send you a book in appreciation for being part of our book launch team, which was incredible.

Speaker A

He said, when you receive the book, could you do a couple of favors for us?

Speaker A

And I said, certainly.

Speaker A

The first thing was could you post a review on Amazon once you've read the book?

Speaker A

The neat thing about it, Darcy was asking for honest reviews.

Speaker A

What is this review?

Speaker A

The review is meant to be short and simple and for us to talk about the book, what we enjoyed about the book, whether it was the characters, the story, the illustrations, or the emotions that were involved while we read the book.

Speaker A

The other favor that Darcy asked is could we actually purchase his book, whether it was ebook or paperback, on March 8, 2025, the official launch date.

Speaker A

And this would help Darcy and his new book, Some Angels have Water baits that the whole idea behind this was by having these purchases happen on March the 8th.

Speaker A

What it does in combination with the reviews is it helps boost the book's rankings on Amazon and in turn helps the book reach a wider audience and increases its chances of being recommended to other readers.

Speaker A

Pretty neat.

Speaker A

And you can see how my role as part of the book launch team can make an incredible difference.

Speaker A

Now, just to give you a little idea.

Speaker A

We have taken this a little bit further and I asked my youngest grandson people if you would actually read the book and give a review.

Speaker A

And so part of our podcast show today is actually my interview with Cooper giving his review after he read the book Some Angels have Loader Blades.

Speaker A

Cooper and I had a great time doing this podcast interview.

Speaker A

I hope that not only will you enjoy the time Cooper and I spent together sharing the review of the new book by Darcy Diane, Some Angels have Rollerblades.

Speaker A

But the exciting other part is if you could support Darcy Guyant's new book, Some Angels have Rollerblades.

Speaker A

The book is such a great message and it's just so much fun.

Speaker A

I'm hoping that the review from Cooper will give you insight into why your children or grandchildren would enjoy reading this book and having it part of your home life.

Speaker A

Thank you and enjoy the lesson.

Speaker B

We're here today with Cooper Harris, and Cooper today has read a new book coming out March 8th of 2025 called Some Angels have Rotor Blades.

Speaker B

Hi, Cooper.

Speaker C

Hello, papa.

Speaker B

How's it going today?

Speaker C

It's good.

Speaker B

Tell us a little bit about the favorite character you had in the story, Dale.

Speaker B

And why did you like Dale?

Speaker C

Because he was the main character.

Speaker B

Describe the qualities that you enjoyed about Dale.

Speaker C

That he was playful and asking lots of questions.

Speaker B

Oh, fantastic.

Speaker B

And in the story, can you think of one place where most of the story happened?

Speaker C

When his boat hit something in the water and flipped over and then he got saved by the helicopter.

Speaker B

Okay, so that.

Speaker B

So the place.

Speaker B

He was out on a lake or was he out on the sea?

Speaker C

He was on a boat.

Speaker B

On a boat.

Speaker C

On, I think a lake.

Speaker B

On a lake.

Speaker C

Going fishing.

Speaker B

And he was going fishing and then he ran into situation where on the lake he ran into an obstacle.

Speaker C

Yes.

Speaker B

Describe when you were starting to read the story.

Speaker B

What.

Speaker B

What interested you at the beginning?

Speaker B

What got you interested in the story?

Speaker C

The main character's urge to go on the lake.

Speaker B

When you got into the story, tell us a little bit about the middle of the story.

Speaker C

The ambulance was there to pick him up and take him to the hospital.

Speaker B

Sounds like there was some real drama in this story.

Speaker B

At the end of the story, what did you find interesting?

Speaker C

Tommy.

Speaker B

Tommy was the grandson of the main character?

Speaker C

Yes.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

And it was Dale that got saved and he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance?

Speaker C

Yes.

Speaker C

The main character is.

Speaker C

Dale got taken to the hospital.

Speaker B

Did you enjoy reading the story?

Speaker B

What did you like about it?

Speaker B

What kept your interest through the whole book?

Speaker C

The descriptive dialogue and how the pictures were presented.

Speaker B

Do you like the pictures in the title of the book, Some Angels have Rotor Blades?

Speaker B

Did that kind of get your interest?

Speaker C

Yes, it did.

Speaker C

I was more interested in the book, not the title.

Speaker B

We were more interested in the book and the whole idea of finding out about the story.

Speaker C

Yeah, it's a short, nice book that you can read on some free time that you have.

Speaker B

Overall, what was the most favorite part or event in the book for you?

Speaker C

When Dale and his grandkids went to a museum and he found the exact plane that saved his life.

Speaker B

Was it a plane or a helicopter?

Speaker C

I think it was a helicopter, actually.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

So it's when he went to the museum and he actually saw the same type of helicopter that had rescued him.

Speaker C

No, it was the exact same one because he could remember the numbers and.

Speaker B

How it looked the exact helicopter all these years later.

Speaker B

Incredible.

Speaker B

And what an ending.

Speaker B

I really appreciate you spending time with us and talking about this new book, Some Angels of Rotor Blades, coming out on March 8th.

Speaker B

Thank you.

Speaker C

Cooper, thank you for inviting me.
