00:00:06 Shreya: What is manifestation is not about wanting harder, but about removing what is quietly in the way so many of us visualize a form and hope it feels stuck in the same patterns. Tonight we are exploring why manifestation sometimes feels blocked and what actually helps energy start moving again without bypassing reality.

00:00:32 Shreya: Welcome to the Wellness Reimagined, where we explore modern well-being through curiosity, integration, and lived experience. I'm your host, Shreya, and today I'm joined by Kelsey Ida, a best selling author and energetic alignment guide who helps people consciously create lives they love. We are talking about manifestation, not the highlight reel version, but how to work through blockages that stop it from flowing naturally and what it really takes to align mind, body and energy. Welcome, Kelsey. I'm honored to have you on my show.

00:01:09 Kelsey Aida: Thank you. I'm so excited to be here with you.

00:01:12 Shreya: And before we talk about techniques or tool, when you hear someone say manifestation is is not working for me. What is the first thing you tend to listen for beneath those words?

00:01:27 Kelsey Aida: Yeah. So a lot of us have been taught that manifestation is just asking and then receiving, right? If I ask for it, I should get it Amazon Prime style. I'm just going to wish it. I'm going to think about it all the time. I'm going to visualize, I'm going to do my techniques and then bam, it's going to show up. But more times than not, I would say it's a little bit of an incomplete process to say we're just going to ask and then receive, because a lot of times there's some sub steps in between those two steps. And when people tell me, oh, manifesting doesn't work, or the Law of Attraction isn't working for me, that tells me that they have some sort of internal resistance that they just don't probably even know exists, and they haven't addressed it yet. But if they did know what it was, and if they could address it, they could untangle it, remove that blockage, and then move forward in full alignment with their goal. So for example, let's say you want to manifest love, right? But your last few situationships were a train wreck. You're terrified. You hate dating apps. You think all men are evil, blah blah blah. The list goes on, right? So it's like anytime you want something, but in the back of your head there's like a butt to it. Like, I would love to manifest love, but I don't want to get on the dating apps. I would love to manifest more money, but rich people are evil and I don't want to be like them. I would love to, you know, manifest losing twenty pounds, but I don't know how to meal prep and I don't want to go to the gym. Right? Whenever you have a butt attached to your desire, that's usually pointing you to your resistance. And if you could just figure out what your personal resistance is to what you're asking for and then work through that, which is what I help people to do. Then you can get rid of those blockages and want the thing that you want. Go for it wholeheartedly without stopping yourself.

00:03:29 Shreya: That's really amazing. Especially the bacteria you just said. This is really, really like like a quote that we can easily remember. And I think that idea of listening beneath that desire, almost like reading the energy behind the request, feels like a very powerful starting point.

00:03:49 Kelsey Aida: Yeah, because a lot of people think, oh, I want this thing. Like, of course I don't have resistance to it. Why would I resist something that I want? But I guarantee you, if it's not happening as fast as you want it to happen, or if you're feeling stuck around it, you definitely have some resistance that needs addressing.

00:04:07 Shreya: Yes. And there is a belief that if manifestation is not happening, it's because we are not positive enough or doing it right. What do you think is the most common misunderstanding people have about why manifestation get blocked?

00:04:25 Kelsey Aida: Yeah, I think people confuse positivity with alignment. So you actually don't have to think positive all the time. You don't have to feel amazing all the time. You don't have to be this perfect person to manifest a great life. You just have to know how to come back into alignment time and time again. When you come out of alignment, which is naturally going to happen, right? We're going to have bad days. We're going to have limiting beliefs. We're going to have pieces of resistance that come up every time we want something new or something bigger or something different. The goal is not perfection. The goal is, can I be authentic? Can I align with my goal? Can I take action towards the goal even if it's messy? Can I, you know, make sure all my thoughts and beliefs are supportive of this goal, and then take action towards it to co-create it. Because I think another huge missing piece of the manifesting story is the action part. Like where does the co-creating come into play? I think it's been sold to us that we just ask and receive, which sometimes can happen, yes, but more often than not, it's going to require the person who's asking to become the version of themselves who can receive, withhold and sustain the very thing that they're asking for. So you can't just think about manifestation as creating or even co-creating, but more so it's a journey of becoming. Because ultimately everything you want is so you can become like that next level. You. You think it's about the thing, or you think it's about the dream house. You think it's about the dream car. You think it's about the relationship. No, it's because you want to become that person who lives that life, that's a different, evolved, higher level version of you, right? And that becoming process, it can take a little time. You might have to make some changes. You might have to rework some things in your mind. But ultimately, if you know that that's what you're after, you can manifest more quickly because you can start to become that person now and then you become a vibrational match to all the things you've been asking for.

00:06:42 Shreya: Yes, I think that reframes manifestation less as a performance and more as a relationship with ourselves. And I think that already softens a lot of pressure.

00:06:54 Kelsey Aida: Yes, pressure is just resistance in disguise. We do not need more of that.

00:07:00 Shreya: And also like when you work with people energetically, where do blockages most often live? Like beliefs, nervous system patterns. Emotional residue or something else entirely.

00:07:15 Kelsey Aida: Yeah. Everything you said. A lot of them. And the easiest place to start, I think, is in the mind. Your thoughts and your beliefs. Because when you go to ask for something or intend for something to manifest, you can kind of self reflect and dig up some thoughts. So I like to guide people to start with their thoughts first, but they can definitely live in the body as emotional blockages. They can live in your energetic body as energetic blockages. I mean, it could be past life stuff like there's so many different points of attraction that we are attracting and manifesting from. It's not only your thoughts, it's your body, it's your aura, it's your energetic body. It's your emotional states, it's your beliefs. It's your subconscious thoughts that you don't even know are there. It's your, you know, higher self's pre-birth intentions for your life. Like, what did you want to happen before you came here? Some of that is in the mix. Like, what does God want for you? What does the universe want at large for everyone? So it's like there's so many moving pieces to it, but the ones that are in your control. Definitely easiest place to start. Thoughts? Body? Um, emotions for sure.

00:08:27 Shreya: Yeah. And like like I think I think it's it's really interesting how manifestation often asks us to feel safe before it asks us to receive. I think that brings us naturally into daily life.

00:08:43 Kelsey Aida: Yeah.

00:08:44 Shreya: And also like, how do these energetic blockages usually show up? Practically? Like not in spiritual language, but in everyday moments, decisions or repeated outcomes. People might not even connect to manifestation.

00:09:00 Kelsey Aida: Yeah, I think one of the best places you can look is procrastination or self-sabotage. Are you procrastinating something that you know you should do or you want to do, or you need to do? And when you go for things, are you self sabotaging? So, for example, practically speaking, let's say you want to manifest a raise, but you haven't even asked for it because your resistance might be like, oh well, who am I to ask for the raise? I don't know if I'm good enough. Like, let me just not ask so I don't get rejected. Right? So you're resisting the potential of getting rejected? Not necessarily the raise itself, but in having that hesitation, you're not taking action to even make the raise a potentiality. Like, sure, you might just randomly get a raise, but it would probably be more likely if your boss actually knew that you wanted it. Right? So that's like taking active participation in the manifestation to even ask. So I think if you look at where you feel like you're self-sabotaging or procrastinating is a really good place to start looking for those stuck points and how you're stopping yourself. And that's step one to getting unstuck, right? Because when you can see how you're blocking things, how you're stopping your own success before it even starts, then you can be like, okay, why am I doing this? I don't choose to do this anymore. This is crazy. Let me try a new approach.

00:10:27 Shreya: Yes, I think that that makes it feel less a mystical and more like embodied, like manifestation is happening all the time, just not always in the direction we want. Writing the procrastination and self-sabotage thing you said. It's really incredible.

00:10:45 Kelsey Aida: Yeah. Thank you. Yeah, that's a great way to put it. Like, we're always manifesting everything, but are you manifesting something that you want on purpose, or are you accidentally a match to other things because of what you have going on internally or mentally that you don't even realize is there? And that's why recently I just wrote a book called The Manifesting fix, and it basically outlines like all the different ways that we block ourselves, which I call resistance, and then a specific cure or a fix for each one. So like, you know, if you're lacking in the worthiness department, your cure or your fix is to love yourself more. How do we do that? There's a whole chapter on it. So if you guys want to know more about, like, my specific practices for specific types of resistance, the manifesting fix is definitely going to help you.

00:11:34 Shreya: Yes, And like also for someone who feels frustrated or exhausted from trying to manifest what is a more grounded first step to start clearing resistance without forcing belief or like bypassing emotions?

00:11:52 Kelsey Aida: Yeah, I would say if you're in just a frustrated place and you're tired and like nothing's working, stop forcing closed doors open. So step one, like, let's just take a step back, okay? Let's take a step back. Let's allow a little pause, a little rest, and just work on our own wellness, our own vibration, our own just daily happiness. Like, let's not focus on these big, ambitious goals and dreams just for a few days, weeks, months. Let's focus on ourselves. What do I need to come back to? A regulated, nourished, happy place? This could just be the basics, right? Maybe you need to be less of a workaholic. Maybe you need to drink more water. Maybe you need to see your friends more often. Um, maybe you need to start a little gratitude practice. Like it doesn't have to be anything big, right? But make wellness and nourishment your top priority. Because on the other side of that, you're naturally going to raise your vibration, and manifestation will become easier from there. Plus, when you're feeling better, you're going to have better feeling thoughts. You're going to have better ideas. You're going to be more inclined to take action, right? You're going to be in the right place at the right time. So it just gets easier when you set yourself up for vibrational success. A lot of times, if you're feeling tired or stuck or you have some emotional stuff going on, that's just your invitation to be with yourself and let those feelings move through your body so you can process them. And then on the other side, you'll usually find relief. And then there is when you can start to raise your vibration. So this is definitely not about bypassing. This is about listening to ourselves, listening to our emotional body. And know that like if you have a moment of sadness or depression or hopelessness, like that's not ruining your life, that's not ruining your chances of successful manifestation as some teachers would have you to believe, right? Like, never feel bad. Don't let your vibration slip. Like, no, that's so just not how it works. Okay? You're perfectly allowed to have slip ups, have moments, have breakdowns. But the key is you have to hold the space for yourself to allow that to happen so that the emotions can kind of heal themselves. Move. They pass almost like a storm. And then on the other side of that, you naturally come back into a space that's more grounded, more aligned. But if you resist those feelings, you get stuck with them longer.

00:14:28 Speaker 3: Yes.

00:14:28 Shreya: Like so. Instead of asking why is it's not working? We are asking what's asking to be acknowledged. And that's a very different energy.

00:14:41 Kelsey Aida: One thousand percent.

00:14:43 Shreya: And also manifestation is not linear. Like sometimes old patterns resurface, doubts, uh, creeps back in. What helps someone stay aligned when they feel like they have slipped backwards or lost momentum.

00:15:01 Kelsey Aida: Yeah. I mean, if you feel like you've lost momentum or you feel like you're slipping backwards, I would invite you to take a look at that judgment in the first place, because something that I talk about in the manifesting Fix a lot is that you are the meaning maker of your life, right? So if something is taking a long time to manifest, you can make it mean, oh, it's like being perfected in the background. It's going to be so juicy when I get it. It's going to feel even better now that I waited for it. Or you could make that mean I guess I'm just not good enough because it's not coming. I guess that I'm stuck. I guess I suck at manifesting this thing. Not coming to fruition means something bad about me or my life, right? So I would encourage people if they're judging themselves for things, taking a while to Rewind. Look at that and realize that you're the one placing that negative meaning on the situation. When in reality, in life, you're going to have slip ups. You're going to revisit the same healing themes over and over and over at different levels with different opportunities. Right? That doesn't mean you're not healing. That doesn't mean you haven't made progress. So my biggest advice here is to watch your meanings. Be careful what you're making things mean.

00:16:25 Speaker 3: Yes, I think.

00:16:26 Shreya: That permission to be human rather than perfectly aligned might actually be what keeps the energy moving.

00:16:36 Kelsey Aida: Yeah, because think about it. If you're judging your life, you are in a state of resistance. If you're saying this is wrong, I'm wrong. This is bad. Whatever. You're literally resisting your life and it doesn't matter what you're resisting, right? If you're resisting your feelings, if you're resisting loving yourself. You're resisting your life. You're resisting the thing that you want or the place where you are. You're still resisting. And when you're in an energetic state of resistance, your energy is closed. So blessings and opportunities and miracles are not going to be able to penetrate your closed doors, right? But if you drop that shield and you don't resist how you're feeling, you don't resist loving yourself. You don't resist the things that you want. You don't resist how things are. You don't resist how things are playing out. And you just have this energy of acceptance and, you know, not expecting perfection of yourself. You actually are open to everything, and you can be a really great manifestor even if you're not quote unquote perfect all the time.

00:17:44 Shreya: I hundred percent agree with you on this one hundred percent. And like, uh, for anyone who is listening and who feels blocked right now. What if the question is not like how do I manifest faster? But what part of me needs to compassion before it can receive?

00:18:06 Kelsey Aida: Yeah, I love that.

00:18:09 Shreya: Yes, this is truly, truly amazing. And like also, I like a lot of manifestation. Language emphasizes letting go. But for many people, especially those who have had to be a hypervigilant, that can actually feel unsafe. So how do you help someone distinguish between healthy surrender and unconscious avoidance or collapse?

00:18:38 Kelsey Aida: Yeah. So I actually this is so important that you ask this question. I dedicated a whole chapter in the book to this non-attachment. Right. Because the main manifesting advice is always be less attached. Practice non-attachment. And that just sounds so frustrating, right? Because you're like, hello, I want to manifest this thing and I'm attached to getting it. That's why I'm trying to manifest it. Like, don't tell me to be less attached, right? It's so frustrating. So I never tell people to be less attached because that's annoying. What I say instead is you don't need to, like, let go of your goal, right? You don't need to be like, oh, I want this thing, but let me pretend that I'm cool if it does or doesn't happen. Like, no, we're not doing that. We're just saying, hold on to the goal, keep the vision, but be a little more open and flexible on how it manifests when it manifests and what it looks like when it comes to fruition. So notice this is not let go of your goal. It's be less demanding about the details of it. And not to say like, don't be specific. Like be specific. It'll help you get into the vibes. But don't be insisting that my money has to come through my job, or love has to come through my ex, or this one house I found on Zillow has to be the house that I move into. Like, if you can be more flexible and stay open and be like, I want love with whoever's best for me, whenever I'm ready, whenever it feels good. That's a very different energy than being demanding and controlling and micromanaging the universe. So that's my advice for the non-attachment piece. Like, you don't have to give up your dream or your goal. Just loosen your grip on the how and the when and you'll feel a lot better.

00:20:33 Shreya: Yes, I think that distinguish is really, really important. And this is truly an amazing conversation where I think there is a warmth in your words and your presence, and I think your words make very complex things.
